[00:00:00] and welcome to episode 558 of the Pittsburgh Nerd
[00:01:30] What is a trip to New Orleans?
[00:01:33] What is it?
[00:01:34] Yeah, like like for the average person they go down there and it's to get shit
[00:01:38] face drunk in the French Quarter for a few days.
[00:01:41] Right.
[00:01:42] And then they fly home hungover.
[00:01:45] Like, but I mean you you're past like the touristy port portion of that.
[00:01:50] So like, like what is a trip to New Orleans for you?
[00:01:54] Uh, just walking around the streets, uh, eating.
[00:01:58] Yeah.
[00:01:58] So good food, uh, listening to some good jazz.
[00:02:03] Yeah.
[00:02:06] People watch.
[00:02:07] Yeah.
[00:02:08] Watch the, yeah, the tourists get fucked up in the French Quarter.
[00:02:10] Yeah.
[00:02:11] I mean, uh, Jazz Fest was going on down there.
[00:02:15] Okay.
[00:02:16] The French Quarter Jazz Festival.
[00:02:17] Yeah.
[00:02:18] Um, but I went to Preservation Hall, which is, you know, like a museum for
[00:02:26] jazz.
[00:02:26] Yeah.
[00:02:28] And, um, and there was a, I don't know, there was a, and we ended up getting
[00:02:44] tickets for like, they put concerts on in there and it looks like a dilapidated
[00:02:50] building.
[00:02:50] Yeah.
[00:02:51] But there's a lot of like, I think in New Orleans, I think it's
[00:02:53] dilapidated building on, but even inside a little bit.
[00:02:55] Yeah.
[00:02:55] And there was only like 25 people in there.
[00:02:57] Yeah.
[00:02:58] And it was a five piece jazz.
[00:03:00] Yeah.
[00:03:00] Like, like good jazz.
[00:03:02] Yeah.
[00:03:04] So that was good.
[00:03:07] Well, that was pretty intense.
[00:03:09] Yeah.
[00:03:09] Um, yeah, for me, it's more about the food and the jazz than, right.
[00:03:15] Then the booze.
[00:03:15] Then the booze anymore.
[00:03:16] I mean, don't get me wrong.
[00:03:18] I liked to drink.
[00:03:18] Right.
[00:03:19] I did drink when I was down there.
[00:03:20] Right.
[00:03:20] I'm a Dalton that I'm just saying like that, like there, there's a local
[00:03:23] beer and there's an amber ale.
[00:03:24] I cannot remember the name of it, but I really like it.
[00:03:27] Yeah.
[00:03:28] Yeah.
[00:03:28] I like it better.
[00:03:29] But for either.
[00:03:30] Like, I mean, the average person goes down there and it's like specifically
[00:03:35] like I'm going to get fucked up.
[00:03:37] Yeah.
[00:03:37] And I'm going to go see a haunted plantation.
[00:03:40] Yeah.
[00:03:40] I mean, like I was interested in the ghost or when I never did that.
[00:03:43] Yeah.
[00:03:43] But, uh, yeah, it was, it was a good time.
[00:03:48] Yeah.
[00:03:48] It was, but it was like.
[00:03:52] Yeah.
[00:03:52] I mean, especially during Mardi Gras, that's what it is.
[00:03:54] It's just the Barker.
[00:03:55] Right.
[00:03:57] But, um, I mean, this is obviously well outside.
[00:04:00] I was not impressed with Bourbon Street.
[00:04:02] No, no.
[00:04:03] Remember, I haven't been there.
[00:04:05] Right.
[00:04:05] Post Katrina.
[00:04:07] Right.
[00:04:09] So last time I was there was a long time ago.
[00:04:12] Right.
[00:04:12] And so when I ventured on the Bourbon Street, it was just like, you know,
[00:04:16] kids playing buckets every half block and all that stuff.
[00:04:19] And they were playing buckets every half block and loud music, loud.
[00:04:24] And people who had their bars as loud as they can go and people that were
[00:04:27] driving up were blaring music and tons of drunk people.
[00:04:33] And it was crazy.
[00:04:35] I was just, it was not, I stayed off Bourbon and did like St.
[00:04:41] Charles.
[00:04:42] I mean, like I did all the other street, which was much better.
[00:04:46] 10 times better.
[00:04:46] Cause it's not as touristy.
[00:04:48] I guess I just.
[00:04:49] I guess the thing, like, I mean, you talk to people and well, I went to
[00:04:52] Bourbon Street and, you know, got hammered and.
[00:04:55] Yeah, I've done that already.
[00:04:56] Right.
[00:04:57] Yeah, I get that.
[00:04:58] I know.
[00:04:58] That's the thing.
[00:04:59] Like, so I think it's like it's, it is so crowded because it's like,
[00:05:02] that is like the time square of, yeah, of New Orleans.
[00:05:06] But there's like, you know, there's.
[00:05:10] The aquarium is there, which is really cool.
[00:05:13] Um, I didn't do that, but.
[00:05:16] You know, I still did the classics like Cafe D'Amon and.
[00:05:21] Yeah.
[00:05:22] Coffee and pignets.
[00:05:24] Yeah.
[00:05:25] I did not get a po boy.
[00:05:27] Uh, or a move a lot of this time, but I had some amazing catfish and
[00:05:34] slide out.
[00:05:35] Yeah.
[00:05:36] Hmm.
[00:05:37] Yeah.
[00:05:38] But there's some good food and that's a great food in New Orleans
[00:05:41] and a lot of black food and.
[00:05:44] Yeah.
[00:05:44] Yeah.
[00:05:46] Yeah, it was a good time.
[00:05:49] And, um, yeah, so it was fun.
[00:05:54] Good.
[00:05:54] See, my sister was fine.
[00:05:56] Yeah.
[00:05:57] All the kids and yeah.
[00:05:59] Yeah.
[00:06:00] Good.
[00:06:01] Except I can't, I mean, I went, I left and I had a, well, I had a cold
[00:06:04] like five days before.
[00:06:07] And when I got there, I was fine.
[00:06:09] Yeah.
[00:06:10] Even with the plane.
[00:06:12] I came back and my nose started to run.
[00:06:14] Yeah.
[00:06:15] It developed right into bronchitis.
[00:06:17] Oh, yeah.
[00:06:19] I got tested and everything.
[00:06:20] Yeah.
[00:06:21] All right.
[00:06:21] Test me or everything.
[00:06:22] RSV flu.
[00:06:23] Yeah.
[00:06:24] So I was down on the thick of it, you know, right?
[00:06:27] I was fine.
[00:06:27] So maybe not, I'm not fine.
[00:06:29] I have bronchitis, but right.
[00:06:31] Um, I don't have any of the other shit.
[00:06:33] Yeah.
[00:06:34] But the plane didn't help because it messed with the
[00:06:37] pressure in my ears.
[00:06:38] Oh, I'm sure.
[00:06:39] Yeah.
[00:06:39] Yeah.
[00:06:41] So, but anyway, yeah, it was a good time.
[00:06:45] The big five.
[00:06:49] That's right.
[00:06:52] I forgot.
[00:06:52] I'm sorry.
[00:06:53] I mean, I wish you a happy birthday, but I forgot.
[00:06:55] I thought I was 50.
[00:06:57] I don't think there's more distance between us.
[00:06:59] I always think you're like four, three, three years behind me.
[00:07:04] Yeah.
[00:07:07] I don't know why.
[00:07:08] No, I'm not that far behind you.
[00:07:10] I know you're not.
[00:07:11] I know like in my head you are though, but for like, I always
[00:07:14] have like, like a little bit more distance.
[00:07:17] But um, let me ask you this question because I'm curious
[00:07:23] as to leaving the silver subjects for today or you
[00:07:27] tempted to drive it.
[00:07:30] Drive what?
[00:07:31] Like home.
[00:07:31] Like you used to do it from your dad.
[00:07:33] No, no, no, no.
[00:07:34] Like as a 16 year old, your dad handed you the keys to that
[00:07:38] Ford Ranger and you drove home.
[00:07:42] Yeah.
[00:07:42] You know, and there was no temptation to like none.
[00:07:48] Okay.
[00:07:50] I hadn't.
[00:07:51] The reason I am, I mean, what was that?
[00:07:55] It was an 89 Ranger.
[00:07:58] Yeah.
[00:07:58] Yeah.
[00:07:59] 88.
[00:07:59] 88.
[00:08:00] Okay.
[00:08:01] Ford is reintroducing the Ford Ranger.
[00:08:04] Okay.
[00:08:05] Now, because it was those things I've always wondered
[00:08:07] about is like Ford had the Ranger and Chevy had the
[00:08:14] um, S 10, the S 10.
[00:08:17] Yeah.
[00:08:19] And like they were like compact pickup trucks that
[00:08:25] were like usable.
[00:08:27] Like they weren't half tons, but like you could, you
[00:08:30] could, it had a decent towing capacity.
[00:08:33] It had, you know, a good size said, you know, like it
[00:08:38] was a truck that served a purpose.
[00:08:41] Right.
[00:08:42] Um, even though it was smaller and I mean, and
[00:08:47] you drove that Ranger till the wheels fell off.
[00:08:50] Yeah, I did.
[00:08:51] I mean, you don't care of it, but I mean, you
[00:08:54] drove that thing till the wheels fucking fell off.
[00:08:56] And that was a good 10 years.
[00:09:04] I'm trying to think it was an 88 Ranger.
[00:09:07] I think you like, yeah, 10 years.
[00:09:08] So yeah, like 98 it bowed out.
[00:09:13] Think the thing had 200,000.
[00:09:15] Yeah.
[00:09:15] I mean, because you were driving that down the
[00:09:18] visit, your dad, you were, you, you were
[00:09:20] drove that everywhere.
[00:09:21] Yeah, I did.
[00:09:22] You know, so this could try.
[00:09:25] It was, it was a very good truck.
[00:09:27] It's like always been like that market that I've
[00:09:28] been like, why isn't there like any real?
[00:09:36] Like mid-sized to small pickup truck market anymore?
[00:09:41] Yeah, the only everybody wants a fucking
[00:09:44] Silverado or an F 150 or whatever they are.
[00:09:50] Yeah, I think the only small trucks left.
[00:09:52] Well, I don't, I don't know this for sure,
[00:09:54] because I haven't looked at a truck in a long time.
[00:09:56] But I know Toyota makes it to come.
[00:09:59] Yeah, which is a smaller truck.
[00:10:01] Right.
[00:10:02] It doesn't look small, but it is.
[00:10:04] Right.
[00:10:05] It would be in the Ranger class.
[00:10:09] Right.
[00:10:12] But I don't know of any other.
[00:10:15] I don't know of any others.
[00:10:16] You know what I mean?
[00:10:18] Um, like Hyundai makes one.
[00:10:20] Probably.
[00:10:22] Um,
[00:10:24] but anyway, Ford's that re-enter to market with two
[00:10:28] different vehicles.
[00:10:30] One is the Ford Ranger bringing, bringing that back.
[00:10:36] Um, and it is.
[00:10:41] Like the thing I always thought about was that
[00:10:43] well, what the biggest challenge has to be
[00:10:47] seating because the, the, the S 10 in the, in the
[00:10:51] Ranger back in the day, right?
[00:10:53] It had the bench seat, which I don't think you can
[00:10:57] legally put in a car anymore.
[00:10:58] Right.
[00:10:59] Right.
[00:10:59] Yeah.
[00:11:01] Like I think legally you have to have the, the
[00:11:05] single seats now.
[00:11:06] Right.
[00:11:07] And also like the average person, they want the
[00:11:15] flight, the, the four, the five seat passenger
[00:11:18] capability, which I mean with the old school S 10 or
[00:11:23] the Ranger was impossible.
[00:11:27] Well, here, here's the new side view of the Ford
[00:11:31] Ranger.
[00:11:35] So, okay.
[00:11:38] That, I mean, it looks to me like, I mean, this
[00:11:40] is got the four, the four person capability with
[00:11:44] the, um, bed, the bed, but the bed does look a
[00:11:47] bit smaller.
[00:11:48] Yeah.
[00:11:48] It looks like a six foot bed.
[00:11:50] Yeah.
[00:11:50] See, not even that maybe.
[00:11:53] And it's probably six foot.
[00:11:55] And then there's the Ford Maverick, which the
[00:12:00] first time I saw the Ford Maverick and I've
[00:12:03] seen a couple of them now.
[00:12:05] The bed is the same kind of look.
[00:12:10] It looks a little, it looks smaller from
[00:12:13] like the standpoint of like, the thing I liked about
[00:12:15] the Ranger and yes 10 was it was lower like a car
[00:12:18] with, but it had the bed.
[00:12:19] Yeah.
[00:12:20] It looked like a small, like an El Camino.
[00:12:24] A little bit.
[00:12:25] It looked more like a truck than an El Camino did.
[00:12:27] El Camino had the bed.
[00:12:28] Yeah.
[00:12:29] But the El Camino had like the car front with
[00:12:32] the, the bed in the back where like the
[00:12:35] Ranger and yes 10, it looked like it was a
[00:12:37] truck just miniaturized.
[00:12:38] Yeah.
[00:12:39] So that's, that's the Maverick.
[00:12:43] Now the bed is about three and a half feet long.
[00:12:48] I mean, it's a useless bed.
[00:12:50] Yeah.
[00:12:51] Like I'm not even sure why they put like, except
[00:12:54] they wanted to get into this compact market with
[00:13:00] Hyundai.
[00:13:00] Okay.
[00:13:01] I guess who it was.
[00:13:02] Or Honda.
[00:13:04] No, the Hyundai Santa Cruz is the Maverick's
[00:13:10] only other compact pickup competitor is a
[00:13:12] Hyundai Santa Cruz.
[00:13:20] But they have a co-ing capacity of 2000 pounds,
[00:13:25] 16, 17, 100 pound payload.
[00:13:29] And it's affordable.
[00:13:31] Like, and that was always the big thing with
[00:13:32] the Ranger and yes 10.
[00:13:35] They were cheap.
[00:13:37] Like you could like century three Chevrolet used
[00:13:40] to have the deal.
[00:13:41] Like it was like $100 down.
[00:13:45] Like $100 a month.
[00:13:47] Yeah.
[00:13:47] For the S10.
[00:13:50] It was the two, the two they had was like the
[00:13:52] S10 and the Chevy Cavalier that you could get
[00:13:54] for 100 bucks down $100 a month.
[00:13:57] Yeah.
[00:13:57] Yeah.
[00:13:57] Like back in the day.
[00:13:59] And this is like the base model price is
[00:14:02] $23,000, which for a brand new vehicle was
[00:14:07] actually like, I mean.
[00:14:09] For the Maverick.
[00:14:10] For the Maverick.
[00:14:11] Yeah.
[00:14:12] I didn't catch a price point for the Ranger.
[00:14:14] Yeah.
[00:14:15] But on the Maverick is like very affordable.
[00:14:18] So four wheel drive.
[00:14:20] Um,
[00:14:23] I think there's there are certain versions of it.
[00:14:29] They come with four wheel drive.
[00:14:35] Um,
[00:14:36] it's front wheel drive
[00:14:40] with a four cylinder turbo 2.2.0 liter engine.
[00:14:44] Okay.
[00:14:45] And what is it?
[00:14:46] The four cylinder turbo 2.2.0 liter engine.
[00:14:52] Hmm.
[00:14:53] It creates 250 pounds or 250 horsepower with
[00:14:59] 277 pounds of torque.
[00:15:01] Well, that's not too bad.
[00:15:02] No.
[00:15:03] Not not.
[00:15:03] I mean, you know, the four cylinder turbo is nice.
[00:15:09] But I just, I wonder like with these two types of trucks coming back and the love
[00:15:17] affair that you have with your Ranger, would that be something like, um, I know
[00:15:22] you're not in the market for it, but I'm just saying, like, would that be
[00:15:24] something that like if you were to be in the market, you'd say, let me take
[00:15:28] a look at that.
[00:15:29] If it was really good, I think it would be a good idea.
[00:15:32] If it was roomy enough with towing capacity, then yeah, I would, I would
[00:15:36] be interested in this.
[00:15:39] You know, if it can't have a tow baggage.
[00:15:41] Yeah.
[00:15:42] But I, you know, I'd have to see it.
[00:15:45] Yeah.
[00:15:45] I'd have to get in it.
[00:15:46] Yeah.
[00:15:47] I mean, I would not want a Ranger.
[00:15:49] I would not want to be driving a Ranger now.
[00:15:52] Right.
[00:15:52] No, I understand that.
[00:15:53] I mean, I mean, it's funny.
[00:15:57] Like, I mean, there was a night, I think I came and picked up you
[00:16:02] and Doug.
[00:16:03] Yeah.
[00:16:04] And he were like, you got to take my car.
[00:16:06] I'm like, I don't want to fucking take your car.
[00:16:07] There's three of us.
[00:16:08] Let's take my car.
[00:16:09] Right.
[00:16:10] You're like, no, you gotta drive my car home and I'll bring
[00:16:12] you back for yours.
[00:16:13] I'm like, motherfucker.
[00:16:15] But the three of us piled in that Ranger and it was like, you
[00:16:18] know, sardines.
[00:16:19] Yeah.
[00:16:19] We were like in a clown car.
[00:16:22] But um, but it was like, it was roomy enough.
[00:16:29] Like if it was just me and you.
[00:16:31] Yeah.
[00:16:33] Like we could have sat in there comfortably.
[00:16:34] Like the three of us obviously made it awkward because well, it
[00:16:38] looks like it has quad cams on it.
[00:16:40] He's done.
[00:16:40] Yeah.
[00:16:40] I mean, it's got four, four passengers seating.
[00:16:43] But I think the quest, the problem becomes like, especially
[00:16:47] with the Ranger, the new Ranger, how much leg room does the
[00:16:51] back person really have?
[00:16:53] Yeah.
[00:16:54] No, I didn't.
[00:16:55] Especially with someone like you or I, you know, because
[00:16:58] of our height, because of our need for leg room in the
[00:17:00] front, like how much leg room does the person have in the back?
[00:17:03] Right.
[00:17:06] You know, like I, but that's always a problem with a taller
[00:17:09] person.
[00:17:12] Like if you're average, if you're, if you're five foot 10, maybe
[00:17:15] that's not as big of a problem for that back seat person.
[00:17:18] Right.
[00:17:18] Right.
[00:17:18] If the front seat person is an average size.
[00:17:21] Yeah.
[00:17:21] That's probably what they're taking into consideration is
[00:17:23] like, well, the average person is five foot nine and a
[00:17:26] half.
[00:17:27] So.
[00:17:28] You know, all you need is this much leg room based upon a
[00:17:32] front seat person using this much leg room.
[00:17:34] Yeah.
[00:17:34] Right.
[00:17:34] Whereas like, you know, you know, behemoths like you and
[00:17:37] I, we get in there and all of a sudden it's like, yeah,
[00:17:41] there's no leg room back there.
[00:17:43] Yeah.
[00:17:43] A toddler can't sit back there.
[00:17:45] Yeah.
[00:17:50] But the flip side of that is like.
[00:17:55] Like for me, I'm not sure.
[00:17:59] That's not that big of a deal because I don't normally have
[00:18:01] people on my back seat.
[00:18:03] Right.
[00:18:03] You know, with, I mean, with you, it's still a little bit
[00:18:09] of a deal because like, you know, you go around with
[00:18:10] your family.
[00:18:11] Right.
[00:18:12] So you do need a little bit more of that room in the
[00:18:14] back as compared to me.
[00:18:16] But, um.
[00:18:20] Like I would almost like.
[00:18:24] I think the thing about the S 10 and the Ranger was like,
[00:18:27] it was a thing where like if I needed a truck.
[00:18:33] Like unless I was moving a couch and even then, depending
[00:18:36] on how far I was moving the couch, I can ask 10 or a
[00:18:39] Ranger could really get the job done for most things.
[00:18:45] You know, like the bed was big enough that you could,
[00:18:50] you know, it was a usable vehicle still.
[00:18:53] Yeah.
[00:18:54] Whereas like the Maverick looks like that bed is like for
[00:18:58] carrying groceries.
[00:19:01] Like I've, yeah, I'd have to look at the dimensions of
[00:19:03] the bed.
[00:19:04] Yeah.
[00:19:04] But if you were say.
[00:19:08] Yes.
[00:19:09] If you were doing stuff like that, yeah, it could
[00:19:11] probably hold like 10 bags of Muldrum or less.
[00:19:15] Right.
[00:19:16] Oh.
[00:19:20] Like if you're one of the car for to use, um, like I mean
[00:19:25] clearly this, this, this, the Maverick is not meant.
[00:19:29] No, as a work truck.
[00:19:31] Well, if it's four wheel drive and has some torque
[00:19:35] and horsepower and has some towing capacity, yeah,
[00:19:39] then you can use it to go camping and all kinds of
[00:19:42] shit because your camping gear will fit.
[00:19:44] Right.
[00:19:45] You know, in the ride, especially in that bed.
[00:19:48] Right.
[00:19:49] That I mean, it's like having a large trunk.
[00:19:51] Yeah.
[00:19:53] No, it is.
[00:19:54] It is.
[00:19:54] It is.
[00:19:54] I mean, like you put a tonneau cover on that.
[00:19:57] Yeah.
[00:19:58] And then you, it's basically a very large trunk.
[00:20:02] Yeah.
[00:20:03] I'm kind of intrigued by, I'm more intrigued by that
[00:20:07] Maverick than I am the Ranger.
[00:20:11] Yeah.
[00:20:12] Yeah.
[00:20:13] Is it just because of the.
[00:20:17] The expense, I guess less expensive.
[00:20:19] Yeah.
[00:20:19] Okay.
[00:20:20] Number one.
[00:20:20] Yeah.
[00:20:21] Obviously.
[00:20:22] I mean, and two, like you and I, we like, well, put it
[00:20:25] this way when I went out to look for a car.
[00:20:28] Right.
[00:20:28] I knew I'd be traveling as part of my job.
[00:20:31] Right.
[00:20:32] Or eventually.
[00:20:34] Right.
[00:20:39] So, yeah, I think that's a good idea.
[00:20:42] I didn't really want to ride.
[00:20:44] I mean, I looked at trucks.
[00:20:45] Right.
[00:20:46] And everything new is like $60,000.
[00:20:48] Yeah.
[00:20:49] It's written that brand new trucks are ridiculous.
[00:20:51] But even at a couple of years off, they're still at 40,000, 35,000.
[00:20:55] I'm like, they are.
[00:20:56] Yeah.
[00:20:57] That's sick.
[00:20:58] And believe me, I wanted a truck has always had one.
[00:21:01] Right.
[00:21:01] The truck, the truck market is out raced after the Ranger.
[00:21:05] Yeah.
[00:21:06] The next, my next truck was an F-150.
[00:21:08] Right.
[00:21:08] That again, you ran until the wheels fell off.
[00:21:11] Yeah.
[00:21:12] Um, so I wanted another truck.
[00:21:16] Right.
[00:21:17] But just wasn't in the cars.
[00:21:20] But, um, but I got, you know, I like the RAV4.
[00:21:24] It's too small for me.
[00:21:25] I mean, it's not too small for me.
[00:21:27] Actually, I drive around very nicely.
[00:21:29] Right.
[00:21:31] Wish it was a little bit higher off the ground, but, uh, you know, it has
[00:21:36] good gas mileage and yeah, I had to think reasonably not.
[00:21:40] Right.
[00:21:40] What I want.
[00:21:41] So like a four cylinder with a turbo, I don't know the answer to that
[00:21:45] because I've never driven anything like that.
[00:21:48] Right.
[00:21:48] But I mean my, I think my RAV is a four cylinder, but it's Toyota.
[00:21:55] Right.
[00:21:56] But like, okay.
[00:21:56] So like all the turbo does is give you more horsepower.
[00:22:00] It's still going to be good on gas because it's a four cylinder.
[00:22:03] Right.
[00:22:03] But it, the, the, the turbo allows you to have more power.
[00:22:07] Right.
[00:22:09] So like, yeah, you're probably still looking at like 25 miles to the gallon city.
[00:22:14] Yeah.
[00:22:17] But you've got, you know, I get what you're saying.
[00:22:20] Like it, I like to look at the specs on it.
[00:22:23] Okay.
[00:22:24] Like, um, the Maverick and yeah.
[00:22:30] It's my F-150.
[00:22:34] My F-150 had terrible gas mileage.
[00:22:38] Yeah.
[00:22:40] Well, I mean that also had like a V8.
[00:22:45] That has six.
[00:22:47] Yep.
[00:22:47] Straight six.
[00:22:48] There was, yeah, but still guzzled.
[00:22:52] Oh yeah.
[00:22:53] Oh yeah.
[00:22:54] For sure.
[00:22:55] But, uh, I like that big truck because it had an eight foot bed on it.
[00:23:04] Yeah.
[00:23:04] So I could move a couch.
[00:23:06] Yeah.
[00:23:07] Oh yeah.
[00:23:07] I got, I mean like the, the old Rangers and S10s had like a six foot bed.
[00:23:16] Yeah.
[00:23:17] Some were shorter.
[00:23:18] Some were shorter.
[00:23:19] Yeah.
[00:23:20] Yeah.
[00:23:20] They made them shorter.
[00:23:21] Like usually the ones with the quad cab had the shorter bed.
[00:23:23] Right.
[00:23:24] Yeah.
[00:23:24] Like, it's an interesting thing.
[00:23:27] Like it looks like with like the Maverick, it has the quad cab and
[00:23:31] they sacrificed a bed where the Ranger has got the quad cab.
[00:23:35] But those are the sacrifice to bed.
[00:23:37] Yeah.
[00:23:37] I have to, like I said, I have to see the specs on the bed.
[00:23:41] That's why I think the Rangers more expensive because you're getting,
[00:23:44] you're still getting the six foot bed with the quad cab.
[00:23:48] You have 20 grand is not bad for the Maverick.
[00:23:51] Yeah.
[00:23:52] Yeah.
[00:23:52] No, I agree.
[00:23:53] Like it's weird cause I look at it and I'm like, there's a part of me that's
[00:23:58] like, well, you're just goofy looking.
[00:24:00] You know, like, I mean, why even have a fucking three foot bed?
[00:24:04] But like as you talk about it, it starts to make sense based on how much it can
[00:24:08] tell.
[00:24:11] Like you put the cover on that thing and now it's just a big trunk where you
[00:24:15] put all your luggage and stuff in you.
[00:24:17] Yeah.
[00:24:18] If it's four wheel drive or all the drive, it'll get you where you need to go.
[00:24:21] Yeah.
[00:24:21] And you get your, you slap your golf stream on the back.
[00:24:27] Yeah.
[00:24:27] Whatever.
[00:24:27] Yeah.
[00:24:28] Poppa Scotty camper.
[00:24:30] Yeah.
[00:24:30] Whatever you want on there.
[00:24:32] Um.
[00:24:35] Yeah.
[00:24:35] Like I said, I'd have to check it out.
[00:24:39] Yeah.
[00:24:41] It interests me.
[00:24:42] I just want to see the dimensions.
[00:24:44] Yeah.
[00:24:45] You know what I mean?
[00:24:46] No, I can, I get that, but I mean, I don't want an E son cube.
[00:24:50] No, no, I gotta make sure it's bigger.
[00:24:52] Yeah.
[00:24:54] You know what I mean?
[00:24:55] I think let me look here real quick.
[00:24:57] Like for the kids, for the Maverick, I was able to pull up the dimensions.
[00:25:01] So you do that.
[00:25:03] Why got them right here?
[00:25:03] Oh, okay.
[00:25:05] Um.
[00:25:07] Front headroom was 40 inches, 40.3 inches.
[00:25:10] Rear headroom 39.6.
[00:25:12] Front leg room 42.8 inches.
[00:25:15] Rear leg room 35.9.
[00:25:18] Front shoulder 57.3.
[00:25:25] So.
[00:25:27] Yeah, it's not bad.
[00:25:30] Yeah, I have to look it up.
[00:25:32] Yeah.
[00:25:32] Yeah.
[00:25:34] I suggest just kind of looking up real quick here.
[00:25:37] So the, the, the Ranger.
[00:25:43] The it will, it boosts the super crew cab with a five foot bed and a 2.3 liter
[00:25:50] eco boy eco boost four cylinder engine.
[00:25:54] The Ranger will start at 34,600 and the Ranger Raptor will have a base of 56 nine.
[00:26:01] So it lands a mid, a mid-sized competition with Chevy Colorado, the GMC Canyon
[00:26:08] and the Toyota Tacoma.
[00:26:10] Yeah.
[00:26:10] So that's, that's what the Rangers going up against.
[00:26:14] And it is a slightly larger.
[00:26:16] It looks more truckish.
[00:26:18] Yeah.
[00:26:19] Like it's, it looks like it sits up a little bit higher as compared to like
[00:26:22] the Maverick, which I have seen, which does sit like at car size.
[00:26:27] Yeah.
[00:26:27] But it looks like a truck with the, the small bed.
[00:26:31] Right, right.
[00:26:32] So.
[00:26:36] That's that.
[00:26:38] The thing I do hate, but this is like with all new cars now.
[00:26:43] Like they got like that whole everything's LE, OLED.
[00:26:49] Like the gauge cluster is an LED screen.
[00:26:52] The there's a fucking iPad.
[00:26:55] No, I know in the console, like it's what controls everything.
[00:26:59] But that's the biggest problem I have with the, not that, but the biggest
[00:27:03] problem I have with my RAV is I love the car.
[00:27:06] Right.
[00:27:07] What year is it?
[00:27:07] It's 2017.
[00:27:09] Okay.
[00:27:09] There's more room in it than you think there is.
[00:27:11] Right.
[00:27:13] Plenty of trunk room.
[00:27:15] Right.
[00:27:17] The hatch.
[00:27:17] Right.
[00:27:19] It's a hatch, but it's, it's a huge area.
[00:27:23] Right.
[00:27:23] It's not like a hatchback civic.
[00:27:25] Right.
[00:27:27] Back seats, people could fit in it just fine.
[00:27:33] There's a lot of room and I can fit in the front leg wise.
[00:27:37] Right.
[00:27:39] Which I cannot in a CRV.
[00:27:41] Right.
[00:27:41] I cannot fit in a CRV.
[00:27:42] Yeah.
[00:27:45] My knees hit the dash.
[00:27:47] Yeah.
[00:27:48] That's what the seat all the way back.
[00:27:50] That surprises me with Honda's because Honda cars, aside from civics.
[00:27:55] The Tori is for their leg room.
[00:27:57] Yeah.
[00:27:57] Yeah.
[00:27:57] Usually the height's okay.
[00:27:59] It's a leg room.
[00:28:01] But Toyotas are famous for having that leg room.
[00:28:04] Yeah.
[00:28:08] But my biggest problem is like you said, all LED lighting, everything's, I
[00:28:11] mean, everything's there and I like the lighting.
[00:28:14] I like the screen.
[00:28:15] I like the backup screen.
[00:28:16] I like it all.
[00:28:17] But they invested so much into the, I wouldn't say interior.
[00:28:24] I mean the front dash looks good but Toyotas interiors are shit.
[00:28:27] They always happen.
[00:28:28] Right.
[00:28:29] Except if you get into like the Sequoia range.
[00:28:31] Right.
[00:28:32] Forerunner, Tundra.
[00:28:34] The low end it's all plastic looking and yeah.
[00:28:37] It's not, I mean that mine's pretty nice but I mean usually they're not
[00:28:41] that great.
[00:28:42] Right.
[00:28:43] But they did all this investment in those lights and everything but my
[00:28:50] headlights are shit.
[00:28:52] Yeah.
[00:28:52] Like they're just not, they're not LED bulbs.
[00:28:57] Yeah.
[00:28:59] You know what I mean?
[00:29:00] Right.
[00:29:02] I guess maybe they didn't make them that year for that RAV for that
[00:29:06] model.
[00:29:07] I don't know because I have an XLE which is I think the highest one that
[00:29:13] can, I can get.
[00:29:15] Yeah.
[00:29:17] But there's no LED bulbs so my lights look like a fucking Ford LTD.
[00:29:23] Yeah.
[00:29:24] You know what I mean?
[00:29:24] Like the beams.
[00:29:26] Right.
[00:29:26] I don't have good vision with them and so that's my only complaint about it.
[00:29:31] My fog lights are actually better than my actual lights.
[00:29:35] You thought about just replacing the bulbs?
[00:29:37] Yeah.
[00:29:37] You can't go into an LED bulb without a specific.
[00:29:42] Oh.
[00:29:42] It'll get too hot I think.
[00:29:44] Okay.
[00:29:44] That I don't know.
[00:29:45] Yeah.
[00:29:47] I thought it would just be like buying a bulb for like an LED bulb for
[00:29:51] your lamp you know.
[00:29:54] Oh I see.
[00:29:54] You know what I mean?
[00:29:55] But I don't know.
[00:29:57] I don't know.
[00:29:57] I don't know enough about it.
[00:29:58] I never felt like my soul.
[00:30:01] I don't think I have LED bulbs.
[00:30:02] Right.
[00:30:04] But I also like, I don't have a problem with now.
[00:30:08] Granted I don't drive like you do at night.
[00:30:11] Right.
[00:30:13] Like you know the way you come home and stuff you're driving some back
[00:30:19] not back rows but you know highway not as well lit.
[00:30:22] Right.
[00:30:23] You know where I'm usually.
[00:30:25] Staying suburban.
[00:30:27] Right.
[00:30:28] Right.
[00:30:29] So yeah I could see where like you to you that would be much more
[00:30:33] important than right.
[00:30:35] Yeah.
[00:30:36] Where with me I don't have a problem but.
[00:30:42] Like somebody like pass like and it's like they had those they
[00:30:47] had those LED lights.
[00:30:48] And like it was like I'm glad you could see into the
[00:30:51] future with those motherfuckers.
[00:30:53] It was really bright in my eyes.
[00:30:55] I know.
[00:30:56] You know but.
[00:30:59] Yeah I get what you're saying like for what the type of driving
[00:31:02] you do that would be important.
[00:31:04] Right.
[00:31:04] Yeah.
[00:31:07] Yeah I liked it.
[00:31:09] I'd like to have some you know.
[00:31:11] Yeah.
[00:31:14] Better better headlights.
[00:31:15] Exactly.
[00:31:16] I get that.
[00:31:17] But.
[00:31:18] I don't know.
[00:31:19] I don't know it's interesting.
[00:31:21] I knew they would come I was waiting to hear what the new.
[00:31:25] Ranger.
[00:31:26] Yeah.
[00:31:27] Because it used to be.
[00:31:29] Let's see the F one fifty was the four lightning.
[00:31:33] That was their top of the line.
[00:31:35] Now the lightning is there electric.
[00:31:37] Yeah well you used to be the four lightning was their top
[00:31:41] of the line.
[00:31:42] Yeah.
[00:31:42] Yeah.
[00:31:43] Yeah.
[00:31:43] Yeah.
[00:31:44] Yeah.
[00:31:44] Yeah.
[00:31:45] Yeah.
[00:31:45] Yeah.
[00:31:46] Yeah.
[00:31:46] Yeah.
[00:31:46] Yeah.
[00:31:47] Yeah.
[00:31:47] Yeah.
[00:31:48] Yeah.
[00:31:48] Top of the line.
[00:31:49] Yeah.
[00:31:50] Balzy truck.
[00:31:51] Right.
[00:31:52] Right.
[00:31:52] 380 horsepower.
[00:31:53] I don't know what it was.
[00:31:54] Yeah.
[00:31:57] The Ranger I think.
[00:32:00] Used to be the STX.
[00:32:04] That was their top line Ranger.
[00:32:07] Yeah.
[00:32:07] His memory serves.
[00:32:09] Right.
[00:32:12] That's like the four by four package.
[00:32:14] Right.
[00:32:15] Foglight you know all that sometimes roll bars
[00:32:18] they thought maybe I don't know.
[00:32:20] And now it's you know they came up with the Raptor.
[00:32:23] Yeah.
[00:32:23] Yeah.
[00:32:24] So everybody has their yeah.
[00:32:27] Like the Mustang there is the Mustang and then there
[00:32:30] is the Mustang Cobra.
[00:32:32] Right.
[00:32:32] I mean the Cobra was like that was like the the Shelby.
[00:32:38] Yeah.
[00:32:39] You know yeah and little Cobra one.
[00:32:41] Yeah.
[00:32:41] But I mean.
[00:32:43] I guess the Mustang GT the GT 500 for Pittsburgh.
[00:32:48] Driving.
[00:32:50] I wouldn't even want a Cobra.
[00:32:54] No.
[00:32:54] I wouldn't want anything with low profile.
[00:32:56] No.
[00:32:57] I don't want I wouldn't I.
[00:33:01] Nothing like that.
[00:33:03] I saw somebody the other day driving a Lamborghini.
[00:33:06] And I was just like.
[00:33:11] Like I first thought like wow there's a Lamborghini and
[00:33:14] I thought to myself like wow that thing must bought him
[00:33:16] out like crazy.
[00:33:18] Yeah.
[00:33:21] Yeah.
[00:33:22] It just like I mean even like sitting there in traffic
[00:33:26] looking at it like it's sat so low to the ground I'm just
[00:33:29] sitting there going oh my god why.
[00:33:33] Right.
[00:33:34] You know.
[00:33:37] And there's no place to open that thing up either.
[00:33:41] Like maybe you take it on 66.
[00:33:44] I weigh 43.
[00:33:46] Yeah.
[00:33:46] 43.
[00:33:48] Take a run from West Mufflin the.
[00:33:51] Slippery rock and in 10 minutes.
[00:33:54] Right.
[00:33:54] You know we're going to open that bitch up.
[00:34:00] But but yeah I got no I would never.
[00:34:04] Never mind anything like with a low profile like that.
[00:34:08] Right.
[00:34:08] Well because you're right it just it doesn't make any sense.
[00:34:14] Yeah it doesn't.
[00:34:14] No.
[00:34:15] Not in Pittsburgh.
[00:34:16] No.
[00:34:16] Not with the fucking potholes.
[00:34:18] No not even close.
[00:34:24] Like even like I see like somebody like with like a new
[00:34:28] new ish Corvette.
[00:34:32] I'm just like.
[00:34:35] At bad ass.
[00:34:37] Don't take it this entry three.
[00:34:40] Yeah.
[00:34:40] Yeah.
[00:34:45] That's how you do $10,000 with the damage to your back.
[00:34:50] The back way to John Eagle.
[00:34:53] Yeah that'll fuck you up an heartbeat.
[00:34:57] I swear I almost fished in one of those potholes.
[00:35:00] Yeah.
[00:35:00] Oh I don't like it.
[00:35:01] I just couldn't believe the size of it.
[00:35:03] Yeah.
[00:35:05] I had every once in a while.
[00:35:06] They're kind of like every great once in a while
[00:35:10] they'll come in and patch it.
[00:35:11] Yeah.
[00:35:13] But I mean the most being torn down but.
[00:35:17] They only did that for the trucks that are there.
[00:35:19] Yeah exactly.
[00:35:21] They didn't do it for the people driving through.
[00:35:23] I'm sure like the construction workers like you need to do
[00:35:26] something about this shit.
[00:35:27] There was a fucking crater so big.
[00:35:31] Key word is crater.
[00:35:33] Did I had to go into the oncoming lane.
[00:35:41] To avoid it.
[00:35:42] Yeah.
[00:35:42] And I couldn't go in the other lane.
[00:35:45] Yeah.
[00:35:46] Because it stretched two lanes.
[00:35:48] Oh my god.
[00:35:51] It was so big.
[00:35:53] That I was like I'm gonna bend my rim if I hit this.
[00:35:57] Yeah.
[00:35:59] Yeah take it up on the grass.
[00:36:01] It was horrible.
[00:36:02] Yeah.
[00:36:03] Um.
[00:36:05] Um.
[00:36:06] It was so bad.
[00:36:09] Anyway but that's how you do some damage to a car
[00:36:11] as you state this industry.
[00:36:12] Yeah.
[00:36:13] I remember back in the last time I was there I was.
[00:36:17] It was a lot of your car again.
[00:36:20] It was one of your car.
[00:36:21] Yeah.
[00:36:24] I'm for so would be swimming.
[00:36:27] If it would be.
[00:36:29] Oh.
[00:36:30] Thank you.
[00:36:33] I got lectured the other day about my car.
[00:36:35] The what?
[00:36:36] Got a lecture on Facebook about my car.
[00:36:39] Why?
[00:36:40] So I belong to like a Kia Soul fan group on Facebook.
[00:36:47] It's all you know people posting pictures of their car and you know.
[00:36:52] I'm looking just like what can I do like you know maybe modify a little bit.
[00:36:56] Oh yeah.
[00:36:57] And I've seen some things but I'm like I don't know if I want to do that.
[00:37:01] But um I posted a picture.
[00:37:03] I just got a new front license plate for it.
[00:37:07] And it's a Gotham City license plate.
[00:37:10] It says bat one.
[00:37:11] Okay.
[00:37:11] Okay.
[00:37:12] You know I got the Wayne Enterprises thing in the back.
[00:37:16] You know I got you know I'm like it's black.
[00:37:19] The black it's a black license plate looks cool you know.
[00:37:22] Right.
[00:37:23] So I thought I'm gonna post pictures of it and I.
[00:37:26] I posted pictures going through the car wash.
[00:37:29] So like giving the lady a bath.
[00:37:31] Yeah.
[00:37:32] And then I posted pictures of her.
[00:37:35] Like the back and the front and the side views.
[00:37:37] Those people so people could see my soul.
[00:37:39] Which I'm very proud of.
[00:37:40] I I I I worked very hard to take good care of her.
[00:37:44] And um this guy like posted like this like.
[00:37:51] This is like book about how I need to hand wash my car.
[00:37:58] I'm just like you know because of whatever it will take care of it will ruin the clear coat and everything else.
[00:38:03] I'm just like thanks.
[00:38:06] Like I don't have that option you know.
[00:38:10] Yeah I don't have the option to.
[00:38:14] Hand wash my car so.
[00:38:16] You know but make sure I buy good soap and I'm like yeah this this isn't happening.
[00:38:22] You know sorry buddy.
[00:38:25] Right right.
[00:38:28] I thought about today like I did that like two weeks ago and like today I was like I was taking it back through.
[00:38:32] But it got dirty I could pollen and all the rain and shit.
[00:38:36] Yeah.
[00:38:37] And I was like honey you need a bath so I took it up the giant to get go get went through the car wash there and yeah.
[00:38:46] I just as this reminded me like that's this guy like you know berating me for.
[00:38:51] Taking my car through a car wash.
[00:38:53] Some people really do.
[00:38:54] I used to be like they're not like that.
[00:38:56] Yeah.
[00:38:57] I used to just hand wash my ranger.
[00:38:59] Yeah.
[00:39:01] He did.
[00:39:02] Yeah.
[00:39:04] But then ended after the rain year.
[00:39:06] Yeah.
[00:39:07] Pretty much right.
[00:39:09] I mean I used to wash the cars but yeah.
[00:39:13] I'm not as I'm not like I was when I was you know.
[00:39:16] Yeah.
[00:39:17] Using the toothbrush and the q-tips.
[00:39:20] Yeah inside.
[00:39:22] Yeah I'm doing it anymore.
[00:39:23] I just vacuumed the shit out spray my windows down.
[00:39:26] I would like to get the get her detailed.
[00:39:28] Yeah.
[00:39:30] Like not and not that it's like she's like I try not to eat in the car you know but sometimes I do and you know shit gets a ride.
[00:39:43] You know I've wiped her down and stuff but it's just it's that odd thing of like.
[00:39:51] She could use a good scrubbing.
[00:39:52] Yeah.
[00:39:53] On the inside.
[00:39:54] Like but like it's like 200 bucks to have somebody like really everything is so expensive right.
[00:40:01] Like and I understand like I mean you're talking about somebody taking two two and a half hours of their time.
[00:40:08] To do this.
[00:40:09] Yeah I understand like to get it done properly the shampoo the carpets to do the seats right and my passenger seat like day one.
[00:40:18] They fucking wanted me owning that car.
[00:40:21] I went down and got Nancy something to eat and spill black beans all over that front seat.
[00:40:25] Yeah I'm telling you that.
[00:40:26] Yeah so like it's needed clean ever since then but.
[00:40:33] But it's also just like man like I understand like it's it's you know your time and your your materials are worth money but like fuck 200.
[00:40:42] 220 bucks to like.
[00:40:45] Get her detailed properly I'm like I can't I can't swing out just throw some armor all on that shit right you know.
[00:40:54] Yeah I hear you I do or yeah but I mean like as much as I'd love to get it like really like professionally done it's just it's so expensive and I just like man I don't want to spend that kind of money.
[00:41:09] Right he wants to yeah.
[00:41:10] But like there's like that spot.
[00:41:13] And this is like it's where the latch is for the gas tank.
[00:41:20] Yeah.
[00:41:21] And it's like this little invention and then there's the lash like in in there yeah like all in there is just like.
[00:41:29] Like gravel and get out of there.
[00:41:33] Gravel and get out of there.
[00:41:36] Well I mean you get in there as best you can but like you like I need like a special I would need like to get like a specific tip to get in there and really get it.
[00:41:47] Like the tips are too big at the car wash like get into that spot.
[00:41:51] So like it gets picked up but like they're still like remnants there.
[00:41:56] I was like you're in a whorehouse.
[00:41:57] I know.
[00:41:58] I'm not this awful.
[00:41:59] What the fuck.
[00:42:00] I know.
[00:42:03] He's a special tip.
[00:42:07] You see it.
[00:42:07] I could already see that as a human.
[00:42:09] I got a special tip.
[00:42:10] I'll bet you do you motherfucker.
[00:42:14] You know what I went down the Orleans.
[00:42:16] And then I did some walking.
[00:42:19] And I.
[00:42:23] And she came out with like you know long pants and a shirt on and it was cooler that day.
[00:42:29] Yeah.
[00:42:30] Not cool.
[00:42:31] But it was like 75.
[00:42:33] Right.
[00:42:33] That's cold to her.
[00:42:35] Right.
[00:42:37] Meanwhile.
[00:42:40] Pittsburgh boy I'm.
[00:42:41] Yeah.
[00:42:41] Short set of T-shirt.
[00:42:42] Exactly.
[00:42:43] Yeah.
[00:42:45] Um yes short set of T-shirt.
[00:42:48] And I'm like so we're going down and we're kind of just taking me this way.
[00:42:52] And I was like we're really close to the water here.
[00:42:56] I'm just a now.
[00:42:57] Yeah.
[00:42:59] Like I can see water.
[00:43:01] Like yeah six feet away from me.
[00:43:04] Yeah.
[00:43:05] And I was like we're like in Gator country here.
[00:43:08] You know what I mean?
[00:43:09] Yeah.
[00:43:09] We are in the marsh at some of these points and I'm like it's making me a little
[00:43:14] nervous.
[00:43:16] Yeah I mean I saw Gators when I was there.
[00:43:18] Right.
[00:43:19] Um.
[00:43:22] It's all walking in.
[00:43:25] And uh everything was cool.
[00:43:28] Yeah.
[00:43:29] Got back to the house.
[00:43:32] And uh it took a shower.
[00:43:37] Got out the shower and they start itching my man.
[00:43:43] I'm like itchy.
[00:43:44] Yeah.
[00:43:45] You know and I looked at my arms and I absolutely got torn up and I had awful.
[00:43:53] Yeah.
[00:43:55] And my legs same.
[00:43:56] Yeah.
[00:43:57] And I was like did I get bed bugs or somewhere or something?
[00:44:01] Yeah.
[00:44:01] You know but it's not.
[00:44:03] Um because it's only on areas exposed.
[00:44:06] Yeah.
[00:44:06] There's no like the only thing affected is the areas that were exposed and
[00:44:11] that's from my knee.
[00:44:13] Yeah.
[00:44:13] To my sock line.
[00:44:14] That's on your dallywhacker.
[00:44:15] No no from my knee to my sock line and from my elbow where my sleeve came
[00:44:20] down right to my to my wrist to my hand.
[00:44:24] And I just I mean I just got torn up.
[00:44:27] Yeah.
[00:44:28] And I cannot figure out what I got into like a miscarriage you see.
[00:44:34] Right.
[00:44:35] I didn't even feel like I was getting bit.
[00:44:38] Right.
[00:44:39] So I don't know if it was like chiggers maybe.
[00:44:43] Yeah.
[00:44:45] I can't I still can't figure it out.
[00:44:48] That's definitely a southern thing when you're talking about chiggers.
[00:44:50] Chiggers.
[00:44:51] CH.
[00:44:51] CH yeah.
[00:44:52] Yeah.
[00:44:54] Yeah I cannot they're like a mites.
[00:44:58] Yeah.
[00:45:00] And I was close to this I was in the swamp.
[00:45:04] Right.
[00:45:04] So I just cannot figure I mean it wasn't deer flies because you'll feel
[00:45:08] deer as soon as a deer fly hits you you're going to feel it.
[00:45:11] Yeah.
[00:45:11] Or a horse fly I mean right they're huge and they hurt.
[00:45:15] Yeah.
[00:45:16] Mosquitoes usually you see them.
[00:45:18] Right.
[00:45:19] But when you're walking mosquitoes.
[00:45:23] Mosquitoes will land on you and stuff like that but more when you're
[00:45:25] sitting still versus like walking in a faster pace.
[00:45:30] So yeah I don't know I got into something down there.
[00:45:35] Wow.
[00:45:35] It's just like crazy.
[00:45:38] Right.
[00:45:39] Yeah.
[00:45:39] It's crazy.
[00:45:42] I don't know.
[00:45:44] Well.
[00:45:45] I don't know.
[00:45:46] I don't know.
[00:45:48] Well I watched a couple of things this week.
[00:45:54] I finally got myself signed back up for Amazon Prime.
[00:45:58] Okay.
[00:45:58] So I've watched the final season of Jack Ryan.
[00:46:05] Okay.
[00:46:06] And I enjoyed the hell out of that.
[00:46:09] Okay good.
[00:46:11] Like I liked it too.
[00:46:12] Yeah I mean and like the series of the whole is so well done.
[00:46:18] And I'm glad it went on a high note.
[00:46:22] And it's that thing of like.
[00:46:26] Fuck I want to see more.
[00:46:28] Like it is bad because it's that thing of like you know.
[00:46:34] What's ahead for that character still.
[00:46:38] Right.
[00:46:39] You know in a lot of ways you know like you know he still
[00:46:42] has to.
[00:46:45] He still has the red October coming off he still has you know all this other stuff
[00:46:49] and like you like you know you've seen that like I like to see this version of
[00:46:53] Jack Ryan handling stuff like that.
[00:46:56] Right.
[00:46:56] Right.
[00:46:57] Where you know as compared to Alan Baldwin and Harrison Ford but you know
[00:47:01] as much as all of what those two did with the character.
[00:47:04] I guess that would be kind of cool but.
[00:47:06] I did enjoy the final season.
[00:47:09] I'm I was happy with the way it ended.
[00:47:12] Yeah.
[00:47:15] I wish it would have been a little bit longer than it could.
[00:47:18] It got to a point where it started to feel rushed.
[00:47:21] Bad ass in court though.
[00:47:22] Oh yeah like when he walked into the Senate hearing.
[00:47:27] Yeah and he just like told that Senate like you are a stupid motherfucker.
[00:47:32] Yeah.
[00:47:32] You know.
[00:47:33] Oh.
[00:47:36] So yeah I enjoyed the hell out of that.
[00:47:39] And I also just finished the second season of Reacher.
[00:47:43] OK.
[00:47:45] Oh yeah tell me that wasn't good.
[00:47:48] Oh tell me what's his name wasn't good.
[00:47:51] No the guy for me and man was.
[00:47:57] But he was in Jack Ryan.
[00:47:59] That's right.
[00:47:59] Sorry.
[00:48:00] Yeah but he was a bad ass like.
[00:48:04] Yeah he made he almost made it for me.
[00:48:07] Like I liked him.
[00:48:10] I like the whole thing.
[00:48:11] Like I like John Krasinski as Ryan.
[00:48:13] I like Michael Kelly as as November.
[00:48:16] The Wendell Pierce is as Greer.
[00:48:18] I was fantastic but like yeah Michael Rees.
[00:48:24] Is shot at like I was like oh shit.
[00:48:28] This guy kicked it into a whole other gear.
[00:48:33] Because I forget that he can do it because everything he's been doing lately
[00:48:37] has been kind of like.
[00:48:40] Pome die ish.
[00:48:42] Like I think he he played the dad of.
[00:48:45] Yeah he's been in tons of karma.
[00:48:47] Yeah yeah so like the last thing I saw that was not a colony that he was in
[00:48:52] was the one where the aliens.
[00:48:56] Remember.
[00:48:58] We thought they were aliens.
[00:49:01] Did you know what I'm trying to think of what what you want to talk.
[00:49:05] It's like they were in the apartment all of a sudden.
[00:49:08] It was like or the world's.
[00:49:12] No that one alluded me seriously.
[00:49:15] Yeah.
[00:49:18] That's a really good one.
[00:49:19] I gotta look this up.
[00:49:22] Oh it's a little chemo.
[00:49:28] Okay yeah.
[00:49:36] So I'm pulling up his IMDB.
[00:49:48] Michael Pena.
[00:50:05] the moonfall
[00:50:08] No
[00:50:14] Even the movies recently
[00:50:18] Extinction
[00:50:19] Yes, okay. You never saw that no. Oh fuck
[00:50:25] Do you talk about a great science fiction movie? Yeah. Oh, I was fantastic. You need to watch that
[00:50:32] I'm serious. Yeah, no, I mean it let me see that. Let me see the front of it
[00:50:37] Well, what's it say? It should not give a spoiler up
[00:50:44] Yeah, yeah, it's really good I
[00:50:48] Think you'll be completely into it any spoilers. You also has Lizzie Kaplan and who I absolutely love
[00:50:53] Yeah, don't read any spoilers. I won't
[00:50:56] Because if you read the spoiler ruin the movie for you, yeah, no, I don't want I don't want to ruin the movie
[00:51:01] Fantastic. Don't talk about a twist. Yeah. Yeah, you have to look that up. No, I
[00:51:08] Thought it was fantastic. Yeah
[00:51:14] Yeah, but he's a very good actor
[00:51:18] But um, we had a then preacher season two a preacher that was fucking
[00:51:25] Holy shit what a ride. Yeah
[00:51:29] Yeah, that was really good. I
[00:51:32] Like the storyline
[00:51:35] Yeah
[00:51:39] I
[00:51:41] Thought I thought it was well written
[00:51:43] Like I like how it kept moving. Yeah, and like there was a problem to solve
[00:51:49] Do you know me? Yeah, and like
[00:51:51] It was sort of like a mr. And I mean that's kind of how reach her is but I don't know
[00:51:57] I like this story. Yeah, what I'm saying like I was really like how it tied into his past
[00:52:02] Yeah, I really dug into what what what they were doing
[00:52:07] Yeah, you know me like the the the whole special investigators and yeah, like
[00:52:14] Being knocked off right, you know me and even like
[00:52:22] Like in the face of death that one guy was just like, you know, I can't wait to the big guy gets a hold of you
[00:52:27] Yeah, like yeah, and he's massive
[00:52:31] See it. Yeah, I did
[00:52:33] He's like
[00:52:37] The thing I can't figure out is how does he find clothing off the rack? He's like the fucking juggernaut
[00:52:43] He's six foot four. Yeah, that's what I'm saying like he's six when they were like
[00:52:48] Yeah, this guy's not just gonna go into a good will and just get things see six foot four
[00:52:54] He's probably 245 pounds all muscle. There's no fucking way this guy is just walking into a good will and finding shit in his size
[00:53:01] Yeah, there's no way dude. None. Yeah, that's why I found like thumb. Yeah
[00:53:07] Yeah, he's just gonna pull shit off the rack in a small
[00:53:10] Thrift shop. Yeah, no little po-dunk. No where yeah, there's no way nobody looks like that there
[00:53:19] Clothes like he's so big. He's in that gas station pulling stuff like any clothes like
[00:53:26] Little fucker you find clothes in a gas station
[00:53:31] Yeah
[00:53:32] What do you buy in a smidium?
[00:53:35] Yeah, no
[00:53:37] None of your clothes are in the lost and found sir
[00:53:40] Yeah, yeah, no, none of your clothes. No, you know
[00:53:45] none of them
[00:53:47] You can't lose a pair of pants that big
[00:53:51] I'm six foot three
[00:53:54] Yeah
[00:53:55] I mean, it's like, you know
[00:53:57] Bruce Banner having pants that like expand with them as the Hulk. Yeah, he looks like the Hulk. Yeah
[00:54:04] Yeah, I mean he's almost he looks bigger than Feregna. Oh
[00:54:09] Yeah
[00:54:12] I'm serious. I know you fucking bass. Yeah, anyway
[00:54:21] So yeah, those are the two things I've watched and
[00:54:25] Yeah, Ritchie was really fucking good. I got
[00:54:29] Like next I'm gonna watch
[00:54:31] Well tomorrow I need to watch Rebel Moon part two
[00:54:35] I wanted to watch that today, but I was so tied up in reach. I was like, well, I ain't giving this shit up
[00:54:41] No, no, no, um
[00:54:44] I got fallout
[00:54:46] Yes
[00:54:47] and I've got I
[00:54:50] Ordered this I got it on blu-ray. I
[00:54:54] Can't wait to watch it and blast from our past
[00:54:57] I have the entire series of thunder the barbarian. Well, no way wet
[00:55:04] Who clenal who claw and princess Ariel the Sunsword
[00:55:09] Whole kitten caboodle. Yeah, I can't wait was it one season. Yeah
[00:55:14] Yeah
[00:55:16] They're really the same season over and over again for like five years, but I was like 22 total episodes. All right, you know, so
[00:55:24] I can't wait to dig into that. Hopefully that holds up
[00:55:28] right
[00:55:31] Yeah, it's
[00:55:36] Like I remember beating the shit out of my sister because that was all at the same time to smurfs. Yeah, and like
[00:55:46] You know, I ain't not fucking watching smurfs we are watching thunder
[00:55:52] And then I get told on and wouldn't be a lot outside nice. Yeah, you know
[00:55:57] We had to ruin my Saturday trace
[00:56:01] So so yeah, I mean I'm looking for that and I hope it holds up because
[00:56:09] It's like I
[00:56:11] Doubt is gonna hold up hold up, but I hope it's still like
[00:56:15] entertaining like I can suspend myself and be like
[00:56:18] That seven-year-old kid again, right? Like going like this is amazing
[00:56:23] You get him fundar
[00:56:25] Yeah, you know
[00:56:28] So I remember like I
[00:56:31] Went back and I watched
[00:56:35] Speed racer, I mean it's speed racer is a
[00:56:40] Beloved childhood memory of mine
[00:56:44] That was fucking
[00:56:46] awful speed racer. Yeah
[00:56:49] It's awful, but it's almost pop cultures. Yeah
[00:56:53] You know, I mean it is and it's like it may like having watched that I
[00:57:00] Watched it before I went to go see the movie. Yeah
[00:57:04] And when we do you see the movie? I'm like, well, this is just like an episode of Speed Racer
[00:57:07] It makes complete sense to me. Yeah, everybody else was like, oh it made no sense. It's
[00:57:13] It was horrible. No, they made an episode of Speed Racer. Yeah, that's what they did
[00:57:18] That's what it was. Yeah
[00:57:19] And it's glorious if you paid attention to it. Yeah, it's nothing. I mean they really didn't I mean it wasn't great
[00:57:26] No
[00:57:27] But neither really were the speed racers. No, they weren't
[00:57:31] But it was it wasn't a long episode of Speed Racer
[00:57:35] It was it really was yeah, I mean if you look at it in that sense
[00:57:41] The movie's brewing. It is that's the because that's the way I watched it
[00:57:45] Yeah, as I'm watching on my closest I think we're an episode of Speed Racer. Yeah, they really did
[00:57:50] They really just made a two-hour speed racer episode. Yeah live action. Yeah with effects. Yeah
[00:57:55] It's glorious because of it. Yeah, I know I
[00:57:58] Perfect. Yeah
[00:58:00] Like they did it perfectly. Yeah, if you go into it with that attitude
[00:58:04] Yeah, then you'll enjoy what you watched right for sure for sure
[00:58:07] Yeah
[00:58:08] There's such a good that's why that's how I watched it like I walked out of the theater
[00:58:13] That was fucking amazing
[00:58:15] I can't believe they did that
[00:58:18] But like everybody else is like oh it's fucking horrible. I'm like
[00:58:22] You didn't get what I got from it. Yeah, it was just
[00:58:26] They weren't Speed Racer fans. No
[00:58:29] Or they don't remember it. Yeah for what it was. It was probably something from their childhood, right?
[00:58:36] You know what I mean?
[00:58:39] I don't know. I
[00:58:41] Thought you know at first I
[00:58:44] Didn't like it, but then I watched it again. Yeah
[00:58:48] I'll be honest. I watched it again. Yeah
[00:58:52] with the mindset of this is a Speed Racer episode. This isn't yeah
[00:58:57] grand cinema. Yeah, you know what I mean and
[00:59:03] Going into that it was like
[00:59:06] Speed Racer it works Chim Chim makes sense. Yeah
[00:59:10] The whole thing makes sense because it was nothing more like even that moment
[00:59:14] We're like they're all fighting in that hotel room and pops like you see like the wrestling championship ring
[00:59:20] And then he starts spinning people around here. That's that that's Speed Racer. Yeah, yeah
[00:59:26] I'm right there
[00:59:29] Yeah, you know so
[00:59:32] And I watched well the first time I saw two I saw it in IMAX that was a
[00:59:40] Wish it the only thing I wish I had taken like some motion sickness pills because I mean
[00:59:46] On a screen that big it was
[00:59:51] It was a nausea inducing right, you know, especially the ending
[00:59:57] Right, you know, I was like, whoo that's going really fast
[01:00:01] Right, right
[01:00:06] Oh
[01:00:08] But yeah like that and I
[01:00:13] Wanted to go back and rewatch Robo tech
[01:00:15] But I'm afraid to right because it's like that
[01:00:20] Man, what if it stinks? Yeah, you know like what what?
[01:00:25] But there's a lot of stuff like I love to go back and rewatch like a star blazers
[01:00:31] Because I've watched like I have that movie space battleship Yamato, which is
[01:00:36] Fucking amazing. Yeah, it's ridiculously amazing
[01:00:40] But I was like man, I should go back and like first off they're very expensive to try to buy
[01:00:44] Yeah, and second it's like man, what if it stinks?
[01:00:47] You know, yeah
[01:00:48] so like I have that like a little like pit in my stomach when it comes to anything like that I hold
[01:00:55] Nostalgia for right because there have been so many things that have completely let me down like like airwolf, right?
[01:01:02] You know like the dukes of hazard like night ride or like you're just like what the fuck was wrong with me
[01:01:09] You know, right, right
[01:01:15] Fuck Rogers
[01:01:18] Oh
[01:01:21] And we used to watch that religious religiously
[01:01:25] What's amazing though is like the same guy who did Buck Rogers Glenn Larson he did Battlestar Galactica
[01:01:34] Battlestar Galactica the first season the holds up much better than the Rogers does
[01:01:42] Yeah, it does now. I mean if you compare it to like the remake in the the 2000s
[01:01:49] Like it suffers from 70s cheese because it's like every episode ends with like
[01:01:56] Starbucks and Apollo like like laughing
[01:01:59] Like, you know, yeah, whereas like in the the remake like there is no laughter. Nobody's fucking happy
[01:02:06] You know, right? There is nothing but sadness and despair the entire five seasons, you know, right, right?
[01:02:12] Which it makes much more sense to like from a
[01:02:15] Like well, where would you be like? Well? Yeah, you'd probably be pretty pretty down
[01:02:21] You know, you've lost your plane. You're stuck in the ship, you know
[01:02:25] Things suck. Well, and then there was you know, then there was like Buck Rogers
[01:02:30] Oh, right like with like the disco and everyone. Oh and the cheese from what's his name? Me me me me? Oh
[01:02:38] Yeah, Twinkie. Yeah
[01:02:40] And there was there was that cheese. Yeah, Dr. Theopoulos
[01:02:44] Yeah, and yes, and then there was you know, there was always the chick that are you know
[01:02:51] Good see through a shirt. Yeah, but the princess or roar. I think yeah, it was had the stretch suit on yeah, I mean come on now. Oh
[01:03:01] How about you buck yeah, it's like
[01:03:06] And he's just like I don't know
[01:03:09] Yield your are all gold jilt your art, you know, he was just like, you know, I'll hit that for for my planet
[01:03:19] I'll do a Kirk
[01:03:22] I know
[01:03:26] Hey, I will with darling she's you know, she's the one for me, but you know, I'll hit that for my planets
[01:03:35] Got a little mingin. Yeah
[01:03:39] I
[01:03:44] Need to watch flash Gordon again, it's been a while. Yeah. Oh
[01:03:50] So good it is good
[01:03:53] It's so ridiculously bad as good. Oh, it's horrible. It is
[01:03:57] Especially the football scene. Oh
[01:04:00] Is it horrible?
[01:04:03] Play this like a man on the right pills
[01:04:09] And the effects were so bad
[01:04:13] They are oh they were like yeah, especially this that one part where the spaceships like oh, yeah, I played at nine
[01:04:21] See like on the string. Yeah, yeah, but
[01:04:25] the same sense
[01:04:27] when
[01:04:29] Birdman came out and the music started. Oh, yeah
[01:04:33] I mean, I know right now. I get chills right now. I got blind make a taller kick city
[01:04:45] Yeah, then the old man dies, yeah
[01:04:49] It's great
[01:04:53] Okay, that guy the most important mission like what was I thinking that guy was I know but that the main Hawk man
[01:05:01] Oh, yeah, you know, whatever. Yeah that dude was badass. Oh, yeah
[01:05:06] he was like
[01:05:08] Gimli and Lord of the Rings
[01:05:10] Man, he was fucking incredible
[01:05:14] Because I was like I mean like Timothy Dalton was in that movie
[01:05:17] He played the Baron the Prince Prince Baron. I think it was
[01:05:25] But like the guy who played
[01:05:32] I
[01:05:38] Trying to look this up
[01:05:43] There's somebody out there like just yelling at us like it was so and so you dumb fucks
[01:06:02] Alright, so
[01:06:07] Yeah, Timothy Dahl played Prince brand Brian blessed played
[01:06:14] Volten yeah, and I mean that guy's like
[01:06:21] Like you know one of those like all-time British actors. Yeah, but you know
[01:06:29] I just I don't know. I love that dude. Yeah
[01:06:36] Yeah, I mean like
[01:06:39] There's some things he's done where you're just like what were you thinking like you know
[01:06:42] He played boss Nas and the Phantom Menace
[01:06:46] Did he yeah?
[01:06:48] He was the the actor behind. Yeah. Yeah
[01:06:53] You know, I didn't do that. Yeah
[01:06:56] A lot of voice acting work
[01:07:03] But yeah, so yeah Brian blessing
[01:07:11] Loved him
[01:07:18] All right, all right
[01:07:20] Anything like that the proceedings are sir. No man. I'm good
[01:07:24] Remember there are a number of different ways you can reach up and touch us. I can say this an email like that does every week
[01:07:30] basically insulting us and
[01:07:32] What not he is going to Kenny with the marlo. He did say that so I hope he enjoys himself
[01:07:37] I
[01:07:39] Hope he gets the chance to ride the the steel curtain. Oh, no, that's right. It's shut down for a year
[01:07:46] Really? Yeah
[01:07:47] Yeah, because it's a prototype is that tells me
[01:07:51] You know what wasn't a prototype and worked religiously the log jammer
[01:08:00] Shit always floats to the top
[01:08:06] Hey, I don't even I like the log jammer but you know yeah, I get it
[01:08:13] Pretty much
[01:08:15] Get into that five-seater poo basket
[01:08:21] They just they just pretty much, you know flush the handle that's what gets you going on the jammer. What would be amazing
[01:08:31] But if they brought it back
[01:08:34] As like a toilet situation
[01:08:37] Could you imagine like you go full theme park?
[01:08:41] Like you know, it's like the whole thing's like you know
[01:08:44] All right here we go and you get flushed and you go out in you go around you know and then the hill
[01:08:50] Oh, and the cars are shaped like poo
[01:08:54] Yeah, you know I could say the whole thing would work. I'll be amazing. I can see why you don't do it
[01:09:00] But still it'll be amazing
[01:09:02] Then at the end of it they they would have like this
[01:09:05] You can get all the way down into this big toilet bowl where you just went in a circle
[01:09:10] Oh, yeah, and then just like this phantom door would open up right toward the end. Yeah
[01:09:14] Oh
[01:09:18] How do you amazing?
[01:09:21] It would be amazing
[01:09:24] When you got off they'd have like toilet paper and hand sanitizer for you
[01:09:33] Be the best some dude wipes. Yeah
[01:09:45] Anyway fart sounds interjected as you go. She's going around like the you go up the the first hill is like
[01:09:53] Oh
[01:09:55] You're right into the coal and continues as you're waiting in line. Yeah. Oh
[01:10:02] It's just nothing like oh, I shouldn't have eaten a taco bell
[01:10:05] Well, that's what this will be all the signs all around you like fried food. Yeah onions. Yeah
[01:10:15] You just stay in line you just hear people going oh
[01:10:20] Offsets stomach the high area
[01:10:26] Doesn't Alka cells are commercial as you're going let's go to the poo caster
[01:10:35] Keep your mouth closed at all times right daddy right this one with me not today son not today. Yeah
[01:10:42] Yeah, that's called that
[01:10:45] That's called lawn water you're drinking
[01:10:49] What they say the shit ain't filtered
[01:10:52] It was fucking green that in the it was green. It was river water. Yeah, well, it's the other one
[01:10:58] They are raging rapids. Yeah. Yeah, that's just a mouth of Giardia
[01:11:07] Finally really like those rides is I
[01:11:10] Want to go get wet on the rides well number one you're uncomfortable for the rest of the day
[01:11:15] Oh, yeah, then you got a fucking change and then you're carrying around wet clothes
[01:11:19] You know, yeah, it's not fun. No to me
[01:11:26] Number two is I don't trust the water. Yeah, that's in the rides. Yeah, I don't I
[01:11:34] Yeah, I can't yeah, I get that
[01:11:39] There's I've never seen any kind of treatment plant there. No, you know, I think about the water has to be treated
[01:11:49] I don't know I get it, you know, they're pumping that shit up from the moor. Yeah, you gotta be
[01:11:58] There's no way they're paying that water bill just running a straw maybe the new owners did yeah, they're back when we went
[01:12:05] Oh, yeah, that was uh
[01:12:08] That little thing you the paddle bets that thing was covered in filth. Oh, yeah that lake it looked like a pond. Yeah. Oh, yeah
[01:12:19] Yeah, I wouldn't even dip my pond there. No, it's disgusting
[01:12:24] It wasn't even any wildlife that even went around that fucking no, it wasn't even frogs or tadpoles or no
[01:12:32] Nothing. No, there was nothing living in that pond. No, it was like
[01:12:37] Except for yuck. No just filth
[01:12:41] sewage
[01:12:42] the only thing that was
[01:12:45] You know, it's funny because I mean like it reminds me of like
[01:12:49] Those lakes you see with
[01:12:52] That are absolutely completely poisonous because nothing grows around them in the middle of the wilderness like don't ever drink that water
[01:12:59] Yes
[01:13:00] If you don't see vegetation around it, yeah, the acid pond. Yeah, that's what that was to me
[01:13:04] Yeah, yeah, it was never no disgusting in a whisk tank. Yeah still stinks. Yeah smells literally smells like shit
[01:13:14] Yeah
[01:13:15] Let's take a romantic little paddle boat. No, not not. Yeah even the haunted hideaway stunk. Oh, yeah
[01:13:22] That was the same water. Yeah
[01:13:27] Nasty business the water rides. Yeah, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah
[01:13:32] yeah
[01:13:34] I didn't even like drinking out of the fountains
[01:13:38] I didn't I well except for the mushroom one where I was like that was well water
[01:13:43] Yeah mushroom fountain was good. Yeah, it was cold too. That's because
