Getting Ready For V'GER

This week we discuss the latest Steelers loss, we discuss Voyager 1 no longers communicating with Earth and how long would we wait in line for a burger, and some Godzilla talk, plus so much more

[00:00:00] and with Minka out and KZ out. And they knew they can exploit the pass. Get those two guys out and they still fucking ran it up our gun. Which makes it twice as bad. Right.

[00:01:43] I didn't see the hit that KZ laid. Was it pretty wicked?

[00:01:45] Yeah.

[00:03:07] And I mean, I don't know if and, like the only reason you didn't give up a touchdown in that drive is because the guy dropped the ball on fourth down. Right. Like, I mean, that should have been a touchdown catch. Yeah. You know, but you have the ball right back with Najee's fumble.

[00:04:21] Yeah.

[00:04:22] And he give up seven points anyway.

[00:04:23] Yeah.

[00:04:24] I mean, it was just,

[00:04:25] it was an extraordinarily frustrating game.

[00:04:28] And, I'm not denying that for a second, especially after you're up 13-0. I disagree with the Tomlin made that decision to not kick the field goal. In a dome, 56 yards, Bob should put that through. He's like, well, I didn't like to play before. You're down two scores.

[00:05:41] You needed that.

[00:05:42] You were down 11 points.

[00:05:43] You needed the fair catch inside the 20 and you're like his net is like 20 yards, right? You know and you're saying like well, that's a that's a suck ass punt. But at the same time like You know, it's kind of hard to get it

[00:07:05] Like you're walking they're probably gonna let it bounce into the end zone like you're at that point You're hoping it takes a good just said, Tomlin just said, I didn't like the play before, and so I felt, like, I mean, his reasoning just wasn't logical.

[00:08:20] Okay.

[00:08:22] Like, it wasn't like a situation where you would say,

[00:08:26] okay, yeah, that was just a bad throw was high It was a bad throw right and then you go to Mason Rudolph with like two minutes left. Yeah, I don't

[00:09:44] Know I after what

[00:10:44] And I hate saying this because people are right. If you fire Mike Tomlin, he will have a job within five minutes.

[00:10:50] Yeah.

[00:10:51] That's true.

[00:10:52] Like, there's no doubt about that.

[00:10:54] I don't doubt that for a second.

[00:10:56] I'm not going to tell you he's a bad coach.

[00:10:58] I don't think he's a bad coach overall.

[00:11:00] I think he's a leader of men more than he is a coach.

[00:11:04] However, I do feel like, I mean but at the same time you start looking around

[00:12:24] And like like what's the common denominator and all this like, you know

[00:13:24] winning ability. Yeah. But there's still a lot of shit that he does that I question.

[00:13:28] And I'm not a coach or anything. I'm just saying like...

[00:13:31] The way he handles timeouts just still baffles me to this day.

[00:13:35] His throwing of the flags and on obvious fuckups.

[00:13:39] Like, yeah. You know what I mean?

[00:13:42] His inability to...

[00:14:41] beat here. Or we're blitzing a little more.

[00:14:42] Right.

[00:14:43] There's something that's being done to tweak.

[00:14:46] Like I'm not saying you go in at halftime and you like go in, here is the new game plan.

[00:14:50] Like I said, I get that.

[00:14:51] But like there are changes that are made based upon what you're seeing through the first

[00:14:56] half that you say, okay, this is what we've got to do to adjust to this.

[00:15:01] Right.

[00:15:02] You know, those are the things I'm talking about.

[00:15:03] Like I think some people do think like they can go in there and throw in a whole new game

[00:15:07] plan.

[00:15:08] That's not the to draft talent. Okay? Like, George Pickett is extraordinarily talented. I don't think he's a stealer.

[00:16:24] Okay.

[00:16:25] You know what I mean?

[00:16:26] Yeah. bring in Joe Green. I used to love, James Harrison once said, I used to hate when they brought in the legends because it's not about them, it's about me. I'm the legend.

[00:17:43] But in this town until you won a Super Bowl,

[00:17:48] no you weren't. Yeah. You know, there is work to this. Yeah, yeah. There is commitment. And like, I don't think guys are, like it's easy to say, yeah, I want to win, I want to win. But do you?

[00:19:00] Are you putting in the work to win?

[00:19:03] Yeah, yeah.

[00:19:04] Like, on every play?

[00:19:06] Yeah.

[00:19:07] You know what I mean? Right. There is, you cannot deny that. Right. Because there is a chemistry between the linebackers. Right. But, you know, it's not a doubt. Right, but like, you look at like who are the leaders? Well, it's Cam Hayward, it's T.J. Watt, it's Micah.

[00:20:24] Who is on the offensive side?

[00:20:25] Yeah, no.

[00:20:26] Najee's about as close as you get. I mean like, I thought he was also in the end zone as well. No, he was down before he was in the end zone. What? Yeah. Like, because what you gotta look at is like, that coat was on top of him as he was sliding. So when he got the ball, he was like on the one yard line and then slid in the end zone,

[00:21:40] but there was already somebody on his leg.

[00:21:42] So that once you had the ball, once you had possession,

[00:21:44] you just had to get a shot of it.

[00:21:45] I thought the ball crossed the line. So, I don't know if you're prepared for this or not Ian, but apparently, Veeger will be coming soon. Okay. Or even if it's flying anymore. Right. Like if, you know, me. Floating. Yeah. Well, I mean, like I can't believe it. I think what I find hard to believe is like it went this long without getting destroyed by an asteroid or something.

[00:24:23] Or going into an asteroid belt or,

[00:24:26] cause it doesn't have a new variability, right? That's what I think of and what we saw in Empire Strikes Back. But the reality is there are thousands of miles between those asteroids. Yeah. Hundreds of thousands of miles between those asteroids. So it's not like there's this dense field that it had to go through.

[00:25:42] Like around Earth with all the fucking satellites.

[00:25:46] Right. You gotta be kidding me. No, we're not we're not remaking Star Trek the potion picture But I mean like it is funny cuz I mean this is the the Voyager craft is what you know, Veeger was based off Yeah, I know and I mean first off. I mean this thing was this thing was supposed to last five years Right when they launched it 46 years ago. Yeah, it's crazy right how long it lasted

[00:27:03] Yeah, and there's still Voyager 2 out there, which is like launched his Tesla but I think it's on a solar system orbit though the way that they released it. That's kind of cool actually. Yeah like he, but I'm sure that I'm sure the craft looks badass. Yeah, I'm sure it does. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I just transformed or something. No, I just find it very interesting. I think I think with their technology. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Right.

[00:29:40] I mean, that's who we should be collaborating with.

[00:29:43] Unless we already are.

[00:29:45] You know, if you want to it's you know five stories tall or some shit hell yeah you know i started watching reacher okay god damn that's a good shot yeah

[00:32:00] Yeah.

[00:32:02] It's amazing though. Yeah.

[00:32:03] I mean, it's good acting.

[00:32:05] He's acting the part that they're telling him to play.

[00:32:07] Yeah.

[00:32:08] I've seen him in other roles that he doesn't act like that.

[00:32:10] Right.

[00:32:12] It's not like 10.

[00:32:13] Right.

[00:32:14] I've seen him in other roles too, like, you know, Titans.

[00:32:17] Yeah.

[00:32:18] He was really good in Titans.

[00:32:19] Yeah, very good.

[00:32:19] Yeah.

[00:32:20] But, uh, man, this is fucking...

[00:32:23] This is...

[00:32:24] This is up your alley.

[00:32:26] Yeah.

[00:32:26] This isn't like local dogal cops anymore.

[00:33:24] what and he's like you know cuz I wall bark is great at playing like the every guy yeah and then he takes off his shirt you're like oh no he's not every guy you

[00:33:29] know he's ripped but like he's good at playing like that every guy role and

[00:33:34] that's what he's kind of doing he's playing at every guy he's like I just

[00:33:37] want to be like you know the simple dad you know and the reality is he's like

[00:33:43] you know badass former spy assassin and yeah you know He's wearing a size extra small yeah, that dude's a medium he's fucking That dude's fucking ripped. He is I Think he's bigger now than when he was fucking Titans. Yeah, I think so too. I think he's gotten he's rocked He's rocked out. Yeah. Yeah

[00:35:01] But

[00:35:03] But yeah, I thought anyway, I

[00:35:06] Did watch I finished the who?

[00:36:04] I cheated it because I think he's going to use tenant later on.

[00:36:06] Yeah. Like there's two doctors out there. He's just giving one doctor a break. Like he's like, you know,

[00:36:09] you need to stop running. Yeah. Like I liked the other guy.

[00:36:14] I thought he, you know,

[00:36:16] yeah, he was the new, the new guy, you know, quite animated.

[00:36:21] Yeah. And I, and I liked that. Right. You know what I mean?

[00:36:25] He has a really thick accent too, which I like as well. Yeah.

[00:37:22] The musical, Doctor...

[00:37:25] Oh, I can't think of the name of it.

[00:37:31] It was done by Joss Wheaton. It had a...

[00:37:37] Oh, geez.

[00:37:40] Now we'll think of it. Nathan Fillion was in it.

[00:37:42] Nathan Fillion was like Captain Hammer.

[00:37:43] He was Doctor...

[00:37:46] Doctor Horrible.

[00:37:46] Oh, okay. Doctor Horrible sing-along blog.

[00:37:48] Okay.

[00:37:48] Yeah. Yeah. You can see it in his expressions. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. He embodies the doctor. I, I just, it was just refreshing to see him in the role. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Like I've been waiting for this for a long time. Yeah. You know? Um,

[00:39:01] and the stories were good. Yeah. I mean, I like the stories. I get it. You the detective, right? He's trying to figure things out, always. Just trying to figure out what's going on, what's going on. And even that moment where it's like, well, you tell me there's something so frightening that the TARDIS ran away. Yeah. Like, yeah. Yeah. And he was without his toys. So he doesn't have the TARDIS.

[00:40:20] He doesn't have the,

[00:40:20] like, that was the great thing about that episode,

[00:40:22] he was disarmed.

[00:40:24] Yeah.

[00:40:24] He didn't have the TARDIS.

[00:40:25] He doesn't have been nice. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? That would have made sense to me. Yeah. In some aspect. Right. Yeah. But, um, yeah, so yeah, it was very impressive. I just liked David Tennant, man. He's just,

[00:41:44] didn't there anything that the guy touches turns a gold. Yeah.

[00:42:42] Yeah, I was really into it. I was, and like I said, I was like,

[00:42:46] and surprisingly, like it probably goes against the grain,

[00:42:48] but I really loved that second episode.

[00:42:51] Yeah.

[00:42:52] I felt like I had been transported back into Dr. Who again.

[00:42:55] Yeah.

[00:42:56] And it got me excited.

[00:42:57] I was like, oh, this is what I want.

[00:42:59] Yeah, that felt like a season five episode.

[00:43:02] Yeah, I was like, this is what I want.

[00:43:04] This is an episodic.

[00:43:05] Yes.

[00:43:06] I love these type of episodes.

[00:43:08] Yeah. Yeah. That's good. Yeah. I will say this much. I still say this is a mountain I will die on.

[00:44:24] I would love to see Tennant play the Riddler at some point.

[00:44:28] Yeah?

[00:44:28] Yeah. time like I'd like to see like you know the craziness come out yeah a little bit like right like like oh I always liked in Batman the animated series like that

[00:45:41] version of the Riddler yeah there's also a version like in the comic books like The reason I'm not going to do anything about it is because you're never going to tell. And he said, how do you know I'm never going to tell? Because you know the answer to the greatest riddle will fall. Who is Batman? You won't give away that answer. You have the knowledge that nobody else has.

[00:47:00] And he's just like in shock because it's Batman using his own insanity against him.

[00:47:06] And he's right. like you know if James Gunn is listening and first off thank you for listening Mr. Gunn but David Tennant is a riddler make it happen. Stamp it. Alright so let me uh what else you got Terry? Sunshine. This was shocking and out. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure their food is amazing. People rave about it. Right. People say is the best fast food burger you can get and you know. Really? Oh yeah. Like I think there's a

[00:49:41] little bit of West Coast bias on that because it's a you know like people in

[00:49:44] California will tell you like it's amazing like do I really want to stand in line for like an hour and a half? No, that's hard. That's a hard note especially nowadays like you know with like assigned seating and theaters which I think is amazing. Yeah I think that I do I like that one too. I love that except for Thad who like

[00:51:01] will just sit next to you. It know, like, it just, it fascinates me. That, like, that's how people, like, think. To me.

[00:52:20] Right, right, right, right.

[00:52:21] Like, and like, they showed, like, the people that were waiting a lot in their cars.

[00:52:26] Like, it was for the drive-through.

[00:52:27] Really? I don't know. I haven't been to the chick. Oh, I mean neither of I but like you hear the stories of like They whizz you through that fucking like Chick-fil-a lines are like amazing like they're monstrous, but they like they're so well organized that you get through it very quickly well, it's really surprising like they have like

[00:53:41] people like directing the line like they they hire people to stand outside and

[00:54:45] cars deep I'm like well I guess we go somewhere else you know yeah I'm gonna drive another 30 minutes cuz I'm not sitting in the line for ten now I'm not

[00:54:49] doing yeah so like it is like very interesting like like my mentality of

[00:54:54] like you know I'll just I'll drive ten Like from a restaurant, and I always say like from a chain restaurant even worse like there was that steak house that was up on 30 that was very very good steak. Yeah. But like this was like this is unprecedented I can't believe this is this is this has

[00:56:23] no right being this good. Right. You know. place called Firebirds. Okay. There's one in Cranberry and there's one in Erie. Yeah. And that steak was fucking fantastic. Yeah. And now I paid a little more for that steak. Right. But it was completely worth it. Yeah. Comes in a package. Yeah. Most restaurant steaks come in a package. Yeah. For anybody out there who doesn't know that. Right. Unless you're going to like Texas Roadhouse where they actually cut them and you know. But sometimes those cryovac steaks,

[00:59:04] if they're seasoning and stuff in them.

[00:59:05] Right.

[00:59:06] It tenderizes it.

[00:59:07] Yeah. She said that was excellent. I always get the old-timer. I don't know what it is. But they have a really good deal with chilies where you get your drink and you get an appetizer, which is usually, it's not really an appetizer. You can get a salad or soup or chips and sauce or something like that.

[01:00:23] You get your drink and you get your old-timer and fries.

[01:00:26] Or you can get something else. forever. Yeah. They've been in a menu for 20 years. Yeah. And um one thing I got this time was the the mozzarella wedges. Yeah. And they're like wedges. Yeah. You get two of them on the dipper. Yeah. They're like this big. Yeah. And oh yeah. I mean. Yeah.

[01:03:02] It's just cheese. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's like the moons over my hammy with some seasoned fries. Oh, yeah Like that's like my go-to. Yeah, you know Like so like breakfast is like I've never I can't remember It, it, but it was, but they had... Like, it didn't go in there very often, because I don't know why. But... They had these... Buffalo Chicken Wantons.

[01:04:22] Oh, okay.

[01:04:24] They were the shit!

[01:04:25] Were they?

[01:04:26] Oh!

[01:05:23] Yeah, very good. I

[01:05:31] Agreed I this right right always killer and they had an advertising last time I was there this week. They had a little

[01:05:37] Tent on the you know the table tent. They were advertising. They had mrs. Teas

[01:05:40] It was a son bacon potato

[01:07:06] Garlic ranch. Yeah, I can't do that. I. T's pierogies are good. Yeah. I mean, if you can't get authentic little babushka woman pierogies, Mrs. T's is acceptable. Yeah, I think so too. I'm okay eating them. It's not like I dislike them salad material. Right. Now, if you like, you know, onions on a hot dog, then there you go. Yeah. You know what I mean? Oh yeah. Or onion on a burger, which still should be red, if not cooked. I mean, those big onions were made to be cooked. Right, but I mean, I will, like,

[01:08:21] I do like a nice slice of like a white onion.

[01:08:24] White onions.

[01:08:25] White onions, yes.

[01:08:26] White onions, yes, on a cheeseburger.

[01:08:28] Yeah, or Von Eric, you know, wrestling in Texas and

[01:09:40] the Von Eric family. Okay. So that, I've been, like I saw the first trailer for up like theaters right now. It's been a very dry fall Christmas deal. You add Godzilla to it and now you get my attention.

[01:12:21] Right.

[01:12:22] Okay.

[01:12:23] You know what I mean? I needed that hook to lot of people like on like like these gazilla forms and stuff I follow like oh This is just a cartoon and this is goofy and like in the wake of Godzilla minus one How could you even like this garbage like in my head? I'm thinking of myself I remember a time where Godzilla was dancing and doing kung fu. Yep. I remember that too. Yeah, you know and

[01:13:46] like to me like and Rocky down the beach. I was just like, I'm in. I need this in my life. But at the same time, I get Godzilla Minus One, where I'm like, this is a brutal movie of human emotion and a tale of you don't fuck with nature.

[01:15:01] But you can do both things and enjoy both things,

[01:15:04] in my opinion.

[01:15:05] Right.

[01:15:06] I agree with you. And the future stuff is like, what takes place in 2015, is like interesting from the standpoint of like, well what is Monarch? What was it? Like there's a lot of interesting stuff that goes on in that. So I've gone back, I watched Skull Island again because of the connection with Goodman's

[01:16:22] character. like publicity and next year you're gonna get another Godzilla American Godzilla movie you know it's like wow like we're we're in like a a boom period a good time for Godzilla. Right like there were times like I had to watch like Godzilla movies untranslated like in Japanese with like Korean subtitles

[01:17:43] Oh! Oh! Korean subtitles.

steelers,inandout,godzilla,voyager1,
