Gen X Doesn't Care

This week Ian is back, we discuss camping, Sean has reviews of Furiosa, Unstable, The Instigators and The Umbrella Academy, Ian watches Beverly HIlls Cop 4, we discuss the ease of watching TV now as compared to when we were kids and what it is like being a member of Gen X, plus a Superfan Thad email and so much more

[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And welcome to episode 583 of the Pittsburgh Nerd podcast.

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Sean and I'm Ian and this is the only podcast that says, you didn't know what rock

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and roll was until you met my drummer on a gray tour bus.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I got there in a nick of time before he got his hands across your state line.

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: The rough week for rock and roll is we lost both the lead singer of Great White and Greg

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Ken.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And what?

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And Greg Ken.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Greg Ken man.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_00]: He of the breakup song and our loves and jeopardy.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And on to a more depressing new.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm dying.

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You're free.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not dying.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: At least not that I'm aware of.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Good.

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I haven't been to a doctor since 1991.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, you never know.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's a mystery.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I very well may be.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll explain why I wake up covered in semen and blood every morning.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: How are you, sir?

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_00]: It's an it's an early podcast.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: We're Ian's going to the Steeler game tonight.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I am.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Are you excited to see the new look offense?

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I am.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see the first two quarters.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I guess Russell Wilson is only playing the first quarter and probably.

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And Justin Fields will probably have the second, maybe the third.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't read too much on it.

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't either.

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I had to actually like the Brandon Iook stuff was like.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I had said the pull away from my Steelers news, like everything was like,

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: well, OK, the Sears have got a trade in place for no, they don't.

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they do.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, he's got the Sears are no longer in contention.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: He's you're going to Cleveland or New England.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_00]: No, they're not in contention.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's only the steel.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it was just like.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't take this roller coaster.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I need to get off of this.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: This, this ride is horrible.

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Just tell me when it's done.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Either he stays in San Francisco or he's coming here.

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But either way I am done with the shenanigans, you know?

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if many other people feel the same way.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you know, I don't want to hear it anymore.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Because it went on like all summer.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And all summer long, it was like, oh, the Sears are going to trade for IOC.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a matter of time.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just and then is this is like.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Can I'm so but I'm like, well, that's kind of done.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I can't see them pulling off a trade now.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, yeah, I walk is still under contract.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: He eventually has to play, you know, can't sit out the entire season.

[00:03:40] And.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It just like the soap opera just continued to continue.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, fuck, I can't.

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I know, you know, like at the exact same time, the

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: the Pirates went into like this, like 12 game tailspin.

[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Of like they were like contenders.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: They were just over 500 and they were contending for that wild card spot.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Now all of a sudden it's like, yeah, they're the worst team in baseball.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and it's like, fuck, I, you know, I need some, some good news.

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you know, when did the penguin start?

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, sooner than you think.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Sooner than you think.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_00]: They'll be around.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I think camp starts next month for them.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but it's like, it's just that thing of like, I need, I need

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_00]: some sort of like happy sports news, something, anything, please, you know,

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_00]: tell me, Mark and Lieutenant Crosby, they're retired together after

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_00]: the end of the season, please something, you know.

[00:04:43] Yeah.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: You said it.

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm still shaking fricking, um, fire smoke.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: From camping.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: It was good.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Like when I went to Cooper's rock, the campsites were pretty spread out.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I mean, we probably had like quarter of an acre, you know, maybe

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_01]: a little under, but I mean,

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a very big spot for,

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: and it was spread out.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And like the neighbors,

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_01]: they're not on top.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_01]: No, they're not.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And their grills are far away and it's split out nicely.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I like Cooper's rock because they have tent pads.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: That's made of gravel and dirt, but it's like four by fours.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's flat.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: You can drive stakes.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I think most parks have them.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And they don't really know.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Not really.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Some do, but this was like elevated 10 pad.

[00:05:45] Okay.

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is nice because you know, if it rains or anything like that,

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah, that's not puddling under your tent.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like off the ground.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so that was nice.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And I liked Cooper's rock and all the law.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but it was just so hot when we went there.

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, but where we were at, I mean, it was much cooler, of course,

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_01]: cause it was all treed.

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Of course.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so then we went to, um, Ohio pile.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Which I liked the high on power trails.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And, um, like I said, I think we did like 17 miles in two days or

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: something like that of hiking, not walking, but hiking, which is different.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit more strenuous than just walking on a flat surface.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_01]: But, um, the sites were like kind of on top of each other.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Now we lucked out.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't get like literally there's your site and then like if I had walked

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_01]: six feet, I'm in the other site one way and if I walk six feet the other

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_01]: way, I'm in the other side, like it was really packed in.

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but luckily there was only one person, one night on the site to

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_01]: right and nobody booked the site to the left, you know, the entire time I was here.

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_01]: So that worked out.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I did like the shower house is close within 50 yards.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was nice if you had to get a bathroom or something,

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_01]: right?

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause it's rustic to a certain degree.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Like there's a bath house and bathrooms and stuff.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I get, yeah.

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I get that like, you know, I've been places like that where you go to

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_00]: the arm to the bath house and yeah.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean it's not, I mean, and those amenities are not fantastic.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not shame or law.

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I get it.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been in a locker room.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I've been in locker rooms that were better set up than

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_00]: like you should wear shower sheets.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I got those fucking spiders everywhere.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just what it is here in the woods.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: But, um,

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_00]: independent of how popular the place is, like they may not get used that often.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like Monday through Thursday, they're probably not used at all.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there's probably very few people who are there for the week, but

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Friday, Saturday, Sunday is when people are coming up and spending a

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: weekend or maybe a long weekend.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but most part, like those shower houses are not used and then,

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, come fall, they're just shut the fuck down.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: You know,

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_01]: there's also, they had it nicely set up, PA wise.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: they have a, like a kitchen station in there where you can wash all your

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: pots and pans and they have a double sink.

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It's really nice.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Hot water, really hot water.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I suppose.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And, um, so I thought, man, this is pretty cool.

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_01]: So there are parts of the park that I loved and parts of it that I didn't.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I love the fact that the bath house was right there.

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Not right there.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And we were, you weren't smelling it.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Nah, I mean, we were up the hill front, but I mean, you know, five

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_01]: minute walk down the road there.

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and when you have pots and pans, you got to clean it's right there.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I liked that part of it.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and it was all woods, of course, wooded and that was nice too.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Part that I didn't like was just the amount of people that were there.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was just getting to my point of getting the fire out of my fucking chest.

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody had a fire.

[00:09:38] So.

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Of course.

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So correct.

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like you're in the center of a giant bonfire.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: In essence, cause I had my fire going on and the neighbors had their fire

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_01]: going on, every single person there had a fire.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like the whole, you're, it just smells like camp smoke.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like the entire time.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So I didn't like that, but I did like Cooper's sort of somewhat secluded spots.

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_01]: But you know, it was fun and it's, it's a relatively inexpensive thing to do.

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause we have the camp, we ha we eat food that we already have at home.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So I just, it's, you know, I would be cooking now, but we'd be

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: cooking the same thing in PA house.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_01]: And we would be cooking, you know, on a campfire stove.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's not that hard to transition.

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I got a Coleman stove, so it's not like open fire cooking.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm, you know, I'm cooking on a Coleman stove.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So the investment is, is big.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying huge, but it's big because you need the equipment.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And we have, we have most of the right.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But like the only thing we invested in was a tent.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're starting off like, like, yeah, you're looking at a hundred bucks

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_00]: for a tent, you know, Coleman stove, um, the propane, huh?

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: But like the, just the, the, the basic equipment that you like kind of like,

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: like I remember when with grandma Pat Kuhn, like they had a setup.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, cause I went camping with them a few times and like they had like a,

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_00]: a portable pantry, they had like a eight man tent, you know, cause I mean,

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: they, that the tent that they were using, they was the same tent.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_00]: My, my dad camped with them in, it was like this ancient canvas

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_00]: tent that was like amazing.

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was huge.

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And, but like they had like the, and then they would have like the, uh, the,

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: the thing that like put over like the picnic table with like the, um, yeah.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_00]: The gazebo type thing, but it has like the screen sides.

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So like bugs couldn't get in.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, like they had, they had like a whole setup.

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_00]: They had the specific like pots, pans, silverware that was like,

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00]: that was like the camping supplies.

[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I was like all their stuff.

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you know, the Coleman stove, like the whole, the whole

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: kit and caboodle again, you know, they like two or three coolers.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, for all the food that they were, you know, this was for breakfast.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_00]: This was a lunch stuff.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_00]: This was dinner, you know, like, like they, they had a whole setup.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, I think of it that way in a lot of ways, like, like if I

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: was to have a setup like that, and I mean, that wasn't like, you

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: hear the term glamping that, that wasn't glamping that was like, it

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_00]: was just like the way they had its thing set up.

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So it was like, you know, you had the portable pantry and then like,

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, you put canned stuff in there.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, like that's so like, they would have like four or

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_00]: five cans of potatoes for, you know, for breakfast or whatever,

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: like, you know, stuff like that, you know, like they had all this stuff.

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And I just, that's the way I think of it as I think to have that

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: setup or something similar to that setup like that you'd be looking at.

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, five, 600 bucks probably total.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, for a good coolers for, you know, for the whole, the whole thing.

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, like you could basically do it on the cheap as well.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of where we're at.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_01]: We, I mean, like I have, we usually take one cooler.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not a yeti either.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just an igloo cooler.

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_01]: We set up the colon stove on the picnic table.

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Usually we don't have a, we don't have a gazebo or anything like that.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Our chairs, you know, I have, we have a couple bags with like food.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Like dry food, you know, doesn't have to be refrigerated.

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Try to crack the eggs before you go.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you're making eggs, it's just easier.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: But there's a lot of.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: But like I said, the candy sets are like 23 bucks a night.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you get a hotel, not that I'm saying I don't mind hotels.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_01]: You're not doing it like going somewhere, you know, Columbus or something.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But what I'm saying is, um, you know, paying like 25 bucks a night on stuff you

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_01]: already have that you enjoy doing.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And we hike like crazy.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's sort of like one of the main purposes we go is to get a hike.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, you know, you get a hotel in Ohio pile.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: You're looking at like well over a hundred a night.

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and then like you have to eat so you're spending money on food

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_00]: because you're not cooking your own or you could bring your own depending on

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_00]: depending on the hotel.

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I've got hotels now where they have like a stove and everything.

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_01]: But if you get a fit, you get like efficiency style hotel that raises the

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_01]: cost, do you know what I mean?

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So all those things cost money, you know, because you're, you know, you

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_01]: have to eat at least twice a day.

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so that just adds up and adds up and adds up.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So your camping trip really costs you well under a hundred bucks with

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_01]: the site fees.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Firewood so plentiful in the camp.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_01]: We usually buy a stack, which is like six bucks.

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Ice, which is like under two and you know, usually there's enough

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_01]: wood around you.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That you can get tons of wood just there at site, you know?

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, it's a nice quick trip and the Perced meteor shower was going on.

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: We saw some cool meteors up in a field.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was the reason for that trip.

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I was concerned about rain because we were getting remnants of that

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_01]: hurricane so I didn't know what it was going to be like, but it

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_01]: turned out to be beautiful.

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a good weekend.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And like hiking, the humidity was down and so is the temperature.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not really the heat that gets me when I hate the summer, but yeah.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, we just said the humidity is what is off because I like to hike in

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_01]: the winter, so I mean, like I don't like any time of year, but the

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_01]: summer is the worst and the humidity is just the heat's not so if it's

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_01]: 85 degrees with low humidity, you're covered.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You're covered by trees most of the time when you're hiking.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So you're taking all that heat out of it.

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, direct heat.

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_01]: But with humidity, can't get rid of it.

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And you're just like, I was one point on it and I was going uphill

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and I think my heart rate went up to like 135, 140 just because

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_01]: it's, it just couldn't stop sweating.

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was just, it was hard.

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to hike uphill in really humid conditions, but that weekend

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_01]: there was like no humidity.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It was cold.

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So, so much so that I actually put a flannel on at one point at night.

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause it was, it was cold.

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_00]: It dropped down to like the fifties.

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_01]: And so up there it was a little bit cooler.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I always liked to hike with my brother and, uh, my

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_01]: own thing when I was younger.

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And so now I'm getting back into that.

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Cool.

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's helping me lose weight too.

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, even though I'm not on plan right now, but

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm still dropping weight.

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Because just you're.

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm watching what I'm eating.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But also, I mean, just the simple fact that you are hiking.

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like I'm getting physical exercise, put it that way.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I mean, at least two or four days a week, like you weren't like me,

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_00]: like I'm, I'm morbidly obese, but like, I mean, you just tell them the truth.

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if that would be the medical condition, you know, where like you, I

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_00]: on your work, you were still in like decent shape.

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Now you're just exercising muscles that you weren't exercising previously.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And now you're because of the activity you already had,

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_00]: plus what you're adding to it.

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so not being on a strict diet, just watching what you eat.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I've been doing fast couple months.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm going to go back on plan cause I got to shed another 30,

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_01]: but I'm still dropping weight.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I, that's why I'm hesitant because I'm still dropping weight.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just dropping it slower.

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but last year, last year I weighed 300 pounds.

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what I mean?

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And now I'm coming in around 231, 232.

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you have to drop any more weight.

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_01]: You mean?

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I got it.

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I want to be about two on it.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_01]: But at your size, you're going to feel thin.

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how I feel.

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_01]: If I don't feel good at 200, then I'll bump back up to 210.

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I feel good now.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I've always felt myself that like I had a friend who he was six,

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_00]: six foot eight and he was 450 pounds and he, he had the, the,

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_00]: the band surgery and he got down to 200 and he's looking at me.

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, how do you think I look?

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, Oh, honestly, you look, you look like you, you look like

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_00]: you walked out of Auschwitz.

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, what?

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, you look like a cancer patient.

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're, you're six foot eight and you're 200 pounds.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, the Ken Bay Mutombo had more weight.

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_00]: He looked like a stick.

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean like that they're like, I always felt like if I, like if I

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_00]: could get down to two 50, like my plan, my, my playing weight, my, my weight,

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_00]: when I weighed my graduated high school, two 50, I feel like I would

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_00]: be comfortable with that weight.

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I would still be a big man.

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess there's something to that.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I can, well, I mean, that's the thing.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, I'll never, I'm big bone dang way.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: So I mean like, I'm not going to get my shoulders are not going to shrink.

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the bones, the structure is there.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I just got to get it off the midsection.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_01]: It's really the only fat I have on me is right here.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, I don't feel like you need to lose weight.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like you need to tighten it up.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I get that.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Like at two 30 for your size at what?

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You're six foot two.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like two.

[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm six.

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You made fun of me when I said I was six foot three.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, did you lose an inch?

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I think so.

[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, no, you didn't.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, now you're telling me you went from six two to six foot.

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So, well, no, I went from six three to six two.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I was six three in high school.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_01]: So about six too.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So when I was 50 and I made that same reference, you were like, get the

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_00]: fuck out of here now motherfucker.

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm just saying like even at six to two 30, that's a good size in my

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_00]: opinion, like you need to tighten it up.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think you need to.

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_01]: But I, the thing about losing the weight though is I can see the old me

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_01]: coming like of how I looked when I was younger.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what I mean?

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I haven't been two 30.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Long time.

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Plus years or more.

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like I'm getting back to, and I feel good.

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Like not sluggish.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I just, my physically, I feel good too.

[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, as far as from all the hiking and stuff.

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm walking.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to get to a gym.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Just like you said, the tone.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_01]: But I had to shed that initial 70.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, like I would, I would say, like you really don't even

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_00]: need to go to a gym.

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you buy yourself like a, a nice set of resistance bands,

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah, you could probably do the things you need to do without

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_00]: spending money on a gym.

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Probably.

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, because it all was that you've lost the 70.

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the hard work is done.

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, so now, like if you bought yourself like a nice set of resistance

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_00]: bands, maybe a nice set of dumbbells.

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You could probably do all the things you would need to do in a gym from

[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_00]: the comfort of your home without spending, you know, on a gym

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_00]: membership every month.

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, cause it's all core work at this point for you.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're just trying to tighten up that core.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: So a lot, a lot of that was like stuff like, like doing like squats.

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_00]: With like not another bar or anything, just like, like, like what they

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_00]: would have me do when I joined the gym and they were having me work on

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_00]: this was like, they stacked up like two, like milk crates.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I was just doing a squat till my butt touched the milk crate and

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_00]: came back up and I would do like three sets of like 10 and then like,

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: like doing like intervals of like resistance, like it was resistance

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_00]: bands, like tied to a wall and then you just kind of like, um,

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_00]: snap like that.

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, the resistance, the band added resistance to what you

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_00]: were, you know, so it was, it was shit like that.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: But I was doing that.

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, after a while, I was like, why am I paying like half of

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_00]: the shit they've got me using?

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I could probably get it five below.

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like it wasn't like I was using like high end, like

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_00]: weightlifting equipment, you know what I mean?

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, that's why I'm saying like, maybe save yourself the

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_00]: money, look into it a little bit, maybe search out some YouTube.

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Um,

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a lot of chair exercises you can do too.

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I've noticed and it's become very popular.

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Especially with people like with mobility issues.

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I'm talking like just using a chair, like hands back,

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_01]: feet straight out and working triceps and biceps that way.

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So like I would say, like I said, like I would encourage you to

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_00]: like get a place that look at like buying a good set of resistance

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and looking for some workouts on YouTube.

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to hit what you want to hit and save yourself the gym

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_00]: membership because now I'm here, you know, I'm just looking at it from

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_00]: that state, like the work that you want to do is probably work that

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_00]: you could do from home at a decent cost without knowing that, but

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_00]: it's right there instead of like, so, oh yeah, I'm gonna, I gotta

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_00]: leave them together to the gym for an hour, you know, and deal with

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_00]: that bullshit.

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, now it's all just right there for you.

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the way I think.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if I was you, if I was in your situation, that's how I look at it.

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a work in progress.

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm getting there.

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You may also just want to go to a gym.

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you want, if that's what you want to do, by all means.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I found that experience to be horrible.

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause like when you're there during the day, that's just the

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I like my time.

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'd rather do something at home versus, you know what I mean?

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Going out and doing it.

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather just go home and do it.

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, I agree.

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, cause like to me, it was always that thing of like, I

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_00]: was going after work, so I'm like there at like 11 o'clock at night.

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I was always just like, I just want to get the fuck out of here.

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I want to get my work in, get done.

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, but I always had that mentality too.

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Like when I used to like play football and I'd go to like, you know,

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_00]: the summer weightlifting, right?

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I didn't fuck around.

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't talk to anybody.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I got my work.

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I literally got my work in and was out.

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I was done in 45 minutes.

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Those guys were hanging around for like two, three hours.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, why?

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's just too long in a gym.

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're living there.

[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not into all that.

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_00]: No, neither am I.

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I mean, and those guys were, it wasn't even like, like I was doing the same

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_00]: amount of work a day where they were just like hanging out and bullshit and stuff.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, you know, man, I got shit to do.

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I got firecrackers to set off.

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I got, you know, I got a comic book to read.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go, you know, take a shit in the woods.

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but I got, I got stuff to do that, you know, does not

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_00]: involve hang out with you motherfuckers up for like three hours.

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like they were baffled.

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, like, how are you in and out of here so quick?

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I don't fuck around.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm not taking 20 minutes between sets.

[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_00]: True.

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking two.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Right now I get that.

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Trying to show you.

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I can read it, but that is a long time.

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like even like, I can see like two hours, like probably if you're doing

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_00]: it right, like the amount of, at that time, I actually said, like,

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, when I was in high school, like the amount of work you did,

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I may have been hurting myself by just flying through it to get that.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Get out.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Whereas if I took more time between sets, maybe I would have been

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_00]: better off, but like still like, I was like, no, I'm done in 40, 45

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: minutes.

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the fuck you people are doing.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't understand that.

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_00]: It is hot in the stadium.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's no air conditioning.

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a thousand fucking degrees.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I just need to get the fuck out of here.

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to do that.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just too much.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to find something to show you, but like, yeah.

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, based upon your activities, I'm going to guess you haven't

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_00]: watched anything recently.

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So we paused for a second.

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So you get a smoke in and you, you realize you did watch something.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Why don't you tell us what you watched?

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, Beverly Hills cop.

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_00]: The new one on Netflix.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_00]: It was okay.

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I enjoyed it.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it.

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there was some funny stuff.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: There were some funny things.

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_00]: The hockey scene was amazing.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_01]: That's great.

[00:30:05] Yeah.

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I liked the whole beginning.

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was good.

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_01]: That was an actual Foley, you know, but I thought like some of the

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_01]: stuff with the commissioner shit was pushed light.

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I hate to say it, but it's almost like he lost his acting

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_01]: chops a little bit.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the guy was so old.

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of forced in there.

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, what's his name?

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_01]: The guy that was retiring in the beginning was good.

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, what's his name?

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Mad about you.

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I got from that.

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: He was good.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he was real good.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I enjoyed his acting.

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Like that was good.

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's the commissioner later on in Beverly Hills or whatever.

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_01]: He was chief.

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_01]: The chief.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It was, that was pushed like, yeah, bad.

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Even then Judd Reinhold thing was a little pushed some of it.

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_01]: He looked good.

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: He just, it came across kind of strange on some of the things.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to believe that he's still the Billy from 1987.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Correct.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_01]: With the G and R T shirt.

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I get it.

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Get it.

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And of course I say that as I'm sitting here wearing a suicide squad

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_00]: T-shirt as a 51 and a half year old man.

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I wear my Marvel shirts too.

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I understand, but it was just kind of strange to be.

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm reconnecting and settling their shit.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It was just kind of like, okay.

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But it was good.

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_00]: There were definitely some moments that definitely had like a nostalgic

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_00]: feel of like, yeah, that's Beverly Hills cop.

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And then there were some, like when he gets arrested and you know, they're

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_00]: putting them in the, the, uh, the smart car police car.

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, what are you the Lego police?

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, right.

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It was shit like that.

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_00]: That was funny.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, so there were some, some moments and a lot of the action

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_00]: sequences were very reminiscent of like Beverly Hills cop and Beverly Hills

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_00]: cop too, but overall, like, was it a great movie?

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And was it, was it better than, than Beverly Hills cop three?

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Was it as good as one and two?

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but it's still, it held its own in its own way of kind of like

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_00]: being like, this is where this care, like the thing you do believe is that

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Axel Foley would still be Axel Foley at that age.

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like that would not have changed.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it might get him killed at some point thinking he still Axel Foley.

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but yeah, and even I'm driving around the beginning

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: and like in the old beat up Nova.

[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, that was like that.

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That fucking car is 50 years old, you know?

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, overall I, I, I enjoyed the movie.

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was well done.

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, certain things I liked some things I didn't like, but you

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_00]: know, overall I enjoyed it.

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_03]: It was good.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And I watched last night.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I watched Furiosa.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_00]: How was that?

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_00]: It is amazing.

[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_00]: If you like that style of movie.

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's how I want to preface this.

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I loved it, but you have to like Mad Max.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_00]: You have to like the road warrior.

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You have to like beyond Thunderdome.

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it, you have to like those movies not to enjoy this, but to

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_00]: just like, it's not like, well, you had to have watched every

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Mad Max movie to see what this movie is like.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_00]: No, you don't.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, you have to enjoy that style of movie.

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like she has a total of like, I think like 20 or 30 lines, like,

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, she's as quiet as, as Max is and like the second movie.

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I think Mel Gibson speaks like seven times, like, you know,

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_00]: like it's like that, that thing of the way George Miller tells the

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_00]: story, the visuals that he uses, the thing, like it's a fantastic

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_00]: movie that tells a very interesting story, but you have to

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_00]: want to get the story.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_00]: If that makes sense.

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it makes sense.

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if, if you're just somebody who's like, Oh, this looks

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of interesting, let me give it a watch.

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to be like, Oh, this is fucking awful.

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're just not going to get into it because of the way George Miller

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_00]: shoots things, the way things look.

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I mean, there are some action sequences that are

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_00]: just fucking phenomenal.

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I love them.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there, there, there is a chase scene in the middle of this movie

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: with the, a war rig that is so fucking good.

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And there are a couple of other high point action sequences that I really like as

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_00]: well, but like, like the, there's like one main set piece in the middle of

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_00]: the movie that's, you know, with the war rig, then it's like 20 minutes of

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_00]: just like, Oh shit, I can't believe they did this, you know, that type of

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_00]: thing.

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So coffee.

[00:36:01] Yeah.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Cold brew.

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Good for you.

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I love cold brew.

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I, yeah.

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_00]: That's one of those things I, I'm not going to get into it.

[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I just don't get coffee.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Coffee to me is just a mystery, but you know, um, but yeah, so overall

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I would highly like for you, I would highly recommend you watch Furioso.

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there is a max cameo at one point.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't necessary.

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't add or take away from the story, but there's just like one

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_00]: point where you just, you see max, the dog and the 73 Ford Falcon.

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_00]: With the, the last of the V8 interceptors, you know?

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So that was like, I think, Oh, George had to put them in there.

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but it is, it's a good movie that I, I mean, and Helmsworth is so fucking

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_00]: good because it's so different from what you normally see from Helmsworth.

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not Thor.

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, you know, the typical Helmsworth, like over,

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_00]: over muscled bad-ass.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Like he, he is a very different character acting his ass off is like doing the

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: weird kind of voice and accent.

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it, it, I like, tell them it's worth a lot in this.

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_00]: He, he, he earned a spot.

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, Oh yeah.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_00]: That's good.

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_00]: He's good.

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_00]: He is, he's a better actor than I think people kind of like give him

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_00]: credit for because he's Thor.

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I feel like, like he kind of got like, cause he's Chris Helmsworth.

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you can at least say like, like Chris Evans before he was Captain

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_00]: America, there were other things that he did.

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_00]: He, you know, he, he knew he was a good actor.

[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like Helmsworth it's like, he went from being George

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Kirk to being Thor.

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and kind of like everything in between that he's done is just

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of been like, you know, comic bookish type movies, right?

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, ghostbusters and men in black and you know, stuff like that.

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like this, this movie kind of like shows like, yeah,

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_00]: this guy can actually act like he's more than just, you know,

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_00]: the nice set of abs.

[00:38:42] Right.

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and, uh, and I liked that.

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And I heard him say, like he was talking about it and he's like,

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_00]: somebody asked like, what does Mad Max mean to Australia?

[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And he's just like, you know, Americans have star wars, the British

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_00]: have Harry Potter.

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_00]: We have Mad Max.

[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So if I think for him to be a part of that franchise meant something

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_00]: to him too, you know, so he maybe brought a little extra because of

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_01]: everything.

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_01]: All the clips I've seen on him are just, well, he looks amazing.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I mean, I enjoyed the shit out of it.

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I would highly like, again, like I highly recommend it only if you are

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_00]: a fan of those movies.

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, right.

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's, it's that weird thing of like, like I would not recommend

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_00]: the road warrior to everybody just because it's like as much as I love

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_00]: that movie and I think it's a, it's one of the best science fiction

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_00]: movies of all time.

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's that movie though, that you kind of sit there and you say

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_00]: like, yeah, I don't know if you'd enjoy that or not.

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's, it's just because of how this, just because like George Miller

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_00]: is a unique storyteller and how he tells the story.

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Like in my opinion.

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And so like it's that, that thing of like, maybe you'll like it,

[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe you won't it's really artistic, but in a violent sort of way,

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_00]: like it, I like it.

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I like his style.

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I go back, I wish he would have made his justice league movie

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_00]: because I think it would have been phenomenal and bat shit crazy and

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_00]: amazing.

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_00]: But I like, I like, I like when George Miller goes back to the, to the

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_00]: wasteland and I hope he goes back again one more time.

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I hope he's able to, cause he said he, he wrote another movie.

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Four, like when he, he said what he did, Furioso was written at the same

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_00]: time as, as fury road.

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And he said he also wrote another movie called the wasteland, which

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_00]: like, cause he's like all the mythology that goes in the fury road had to be

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_00]: broken up really into three movies.

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I hope he gets to make the third movie because I mean,

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_00]: fury road is amazing.

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And even with like you taking Mel Gibson out and putting Tom Hardy in,

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_00]: like I was like, even I was like, yeah, Tom Hardy is a great actor,

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_00]: but I don't know if he'd be max.

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, he pulled that off brilliantly and it's an amazing movie.

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, this was an amazing, like to me it wasn't amazing movies.

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I was like, George Miller's got one more random and I hope I get to see

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_00]: it, you know, I do cause I mean he, I just like his style.

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_01]: It is good.

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like even as bad as like, I mean, and I'll shit on it because like

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_00]: when you compare it, I think the problem with Mad Max beyond thunderdome

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_00]: is just the fact that it's like, it's the sequel to the road warrior.

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And the road warrior is so good.

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And this just isn't the road warrior.

[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know what I mean?

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, it was like, man, this is, uh, this is so different from

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_00]: the road warrior, but I think if I go back and I rewatch it, I haven't

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_00]: watched that one in a while.

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like if I go back and rewatch that, I might appreciate

[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_00]: it just a little bit more with distance.

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know what I mean?

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm gonna go back and like, this isn't as bad as I thought it was.

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, like I'm not going to tell you this is like, I just,

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's kind of like saying like, well, the dark night

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: rises is a bad movie, but the reality is it's following the dark night.

[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_00]: The dark night was so good.

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're holding it, they can't clear that hurdle.

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there's no way you can be.

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And so part of what it suffers from is the fact that like, well, you,

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_00]: you, you followed up the dark night.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, but you're just not that good, you know?

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_00]: And so we, we, we shit on that movie a little bit in the reality of that

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_00]: movie, it's not as bad as they say it is.

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it has its faults, but it's probably not as bad as we think it is,

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_00]: but we were holding it up to such a high standard.

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It just can't meet it.

[00:43:08] No.

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I hear you.

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So what else do you watch?

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I watched the movie on, um, Apple TV called the instigators.

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It's got a friend of the show, Maddie Damon and, uh, and Casey Affleck.

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh really?

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And the basic premise is, is that Casey Affleck and Maddie get

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_00]: hired, uh, to, to rob the mayor on election night.

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's like the mayor is going to win.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_00]: They throw this massive party.

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a cash only bar.

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, and like to get in is like everything's cash only.

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like there's going to be all this money there and you're going

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_00]: to rob them and of course everything that can go wrong does go wrong

[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_00]: with this, this heist and they're on the run.

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_00]: The, yeah, it, it's not a bad movie.

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it wasn't great.

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I enjoyed it.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's, it's worth a watch, but it wasn't, it's that it's

[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_00]: the type of movie that it kind of, it is not sure if it's a comedy

[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_00]: or if it's like a, an, a heist.

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's, there are moments where it tries to be funny, but it

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_00]: doesn't really quite pull it off.

[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, like, you know, there, there are some

[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_00]: interests, like there's a great chase scene that I absolutely love.

[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And then like, you know, then, then there's it's followed up with

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_00]: like this odd moment of like, you know, them talking and you know,

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_00]: there, there's the humor just as like, just a little bit off.

[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like the first season of the or war, they kept trying to be

[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_00]: funny and they really weren't right.

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And then come season two, they kind of like just dropped the comedy aspect

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_00]: of it and went with like being a straight Star Trek show for the most part.

[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a great show.

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_00]: But this movie kind of has that, that, that season one orival problem

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_00]: where like there, there are jokes and the jokes just don't quite hit.

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But overall, it's like a halfway decent movie.

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the best way I could describe it.

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess I watched that and, uh, that's about it.

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_04]: That's it.

[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, that's not it.

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I talked about it last week.

[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't, I didn't watch the final season of the umbrella Academy.

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, how was that?

[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It's good.

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_00]: It's too short.

[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_00]: They only did six episodes.

[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Christ.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I was surprised.

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I got to episode four and you know, I'm watching on Netflix and it comes

[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_00]: up like only two episodes left.

[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, get the fuck out of here.

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot to wrap up in these two episodes and they kind of do, you

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_00]: know, but like as a final season, I felt like, okay, yeah, I like how it

[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_00]: ended, you know what I mean?

[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I had no problem with that.

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I do wish they had maybe given it another episode or two, maybe an

[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_00]: eight episode run to kind of really give it a, like I said, like the

[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_00]: final episode kind of rushes things a bit more than I liked and it opens

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_00]: up things where you're like, Oh, well that's interesting, but you're

[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_00]: going to shut that shit down right away because we have to finish the

[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_00]: show, you know, like, so like there was, but overall, like I enjoyed

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_00]: it, like it wasn't bad.

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I watched that and then there was a, um, I can never remember

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_00]: the name of this fucking show.

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_04]: It's got, um, let me, let me find it here real quick.

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm trying to, I can't think of the guy's name though.

[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Rob Lowe.

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It's got Rob Lowe.

[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Unstable was the name of the show.

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_00]: It's got Rob Lowe and Rob Lowe's son.

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's uh, on its second season.

[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I watched season two and I enjoyed that.

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Did you?

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a comedy.

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, Rob Lowe plays like this, Elon Musk type of, or,

[00:48:00] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, not Bill Gates, um, uh, Apple guy.

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_00]: That's Gates.

[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_00]: No Gates is on Microsoft.

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah.

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Shit.

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, anyway, but like, like this eccentric, um, billionaire inventor

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_00]: scientist named Ellis dragon and his son plays his son Jackson dragon.

[00:48:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And like Jackson feels like, you know, like there's nothing I can do in my life.

[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I can live up to my father.

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, cause I mean, it's true.

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the dude's like, you know, he's on the cover of rolling stone.

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he, he's like this, you know, the comp, you know, it's his

[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_00]: company, like everything about him is in the shadow of his father, which

[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_00]: would be like, I could understand that, like that would make sense.

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Like looking at it from that standpoint, you know, you'll forever be

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_00]: like the first line of your, your eulogy will be the son of, you know, Ellis

[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_00]: dragon, you know, that's going to be like who he is no matter what he does.

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if he creates a massive breakthrough in science, he's still

[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the son of Ellis dragon, you know?

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So, and he doesn't have the personality like, you know, of, of his dad,

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_00]: his dad's like this over the top, like, like, like Musk, you know what I

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_00]: mean?

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_00]: That type of thing.

[00:49:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's like the show is about them, you know, trying to figure

[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_00]: things like their lives out.

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, like there's, there's, you know, the story of the

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_00]: company and like it, it's, it's a funny show.

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I enjoy it.

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I I've watched both season one and season two when they first come on.

[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're both very good.

[00:50:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I would highly recommend the show.

[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, you know, they're like half hour episodes.

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:50:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, no, not at all.

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can get through an entire season and five hours.

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you can spend an afternoon watching it, you know?

[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So it is one of those things that like, I, I really, really enjoyed.

[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And uh, like if you're into it, I highly recommend it.

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Cool.

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_01]: What else do you move on?

[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_01]: That's me.

[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So I finished season one of spawn.

[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_01]: You said you were going to go back to that.

[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I got something I'm watching like intermittently here and there, like

[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_00]: if I'm like, I don't know that I watched it on, you know?

[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So, um, I, I enjoyed season one.

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_00]: That was just one of those shows.

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, like I, there are some things I remember from it, but a lot of it.

[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't.

[00:51:01] Okay.

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause that came one at a time.

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like with HBO where like there was no on demand, right?

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_00]: That's right.

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Kids.

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_00]: There was a time where there was no on demand.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't on.

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like let, let alone the streaming there.

[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So like you had to catch, you had to catch that show when it came on.

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you did.

[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it came, like it came on like late night on

[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_00]: like Fridays or Saturdays.

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember.

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And like my DVR was, or not my DVR, excuse me, my VCR, my VCR was

[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_00]: already set to record like ECW.

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So it was like that thing of like, well, I'm not, I'm never, I never

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_00]: caught it.

[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Like when it first ran, like maybe I'd catch an episode here or there.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, cause I'm like up late at night and they're showing it on

[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_00]: like a Tuesday night or something.

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, but I never, I never watched the full run of that show.

[00:51:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So going back and watching season one, I'm like, okay, yeah, I remember

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_00]: that and I remember the, uh, the creepy pedophile, um, I don't, you

[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_00]: like in season one, they introduced the hunters.

[00:52:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like that was like, I'm like, I don't remember this at all.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see where that goes.

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, like, like they, so there was like a lot of interesting things

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_00]: that I was like, I remember some of, and some of them I didn't.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, so, but it was just because like at that time

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I just wasn't watching the show.

[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I wasn't tuning into it because I was either out or I was

[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_00]: something else that I was recording.

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_01]: If you think about it, TV was kind of hard to watch as compared to now.

[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, dramatically.

[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_01]: They had such a difference in the way we, what we've come to.

[00:52:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Like even like watching a show and trying to time out like a piss

[00:53:02] [SPEAKER_00]: break during a commercial, right?

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So you can come back and not miss anything because there was no pausing.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Nah, nah.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like that is a struggle kids will never understand.

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Like your kids will never understand that.

[00:53:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's how far back I mean, and they're in their mid twenties.

[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, you know, you will never understand the struggle of like,

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, okay, I am running and getting myself a drink during this

[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_00]: commercial break, I hope I make it back or like getting a couple of drinks

[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_01]: and pre-making snacks or popcorn or anything before you even watch your show.

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, like once the show's on, you're not going to have time.

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_01]: To like, you know, you don't want to miss anything.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Like exactly.

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it was like this, like why it's, it's hard to believe.

[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like at that time, like, like how difficult watching TV was.

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_01]: It was, it was really difficult.

[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even when we were young, I can remember looking through

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_01]: the HBO guy and I said, Oh, this is on it.

[00:54:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Eight o'clock on Thursday night.

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I got to make sure that I'm ready for Thursday night.

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I gotta make sure I'm home.

[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I have to make sure like, don't call me.

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I ain't answering the phone.

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like all sort, like you, it is, it's funny to think about it.

[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, I think back and like my friends would make fun of me.

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause they'd be like, well, I gotta go home.

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, why?

[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, because Robotech's on.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it comes out in 10 minutes.

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I gotta get home.

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like why, why are you, what the fuck?

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Look, this is like my show.

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I gotta watch this.

[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, it's funny.

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, and now it's like that thing of like, you know, what's

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_00]: the big deal hit the pause button.

[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Get to your P right.

[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and like eat, like I'm still programmed to a certain extent.

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, I hate pausing a show or a movie to go to the bathroom.

[00:55:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like my, my mind is trained to a point where it's like, no, you

[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_00]: power through this, right?

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe like if I'm binging a TV show, like, okay, you

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_00]: wait till the next episode comes on and you pause it, right.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_00]: But you do not pause during the show.

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Like during a movie.

[00:55:27] [SPEAKER_00]: No, man.

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's a little different.

[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you can understand a little bit more like, you know, cause there

[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_00]: is no pausing in the movie theater.

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, like fuck I, I, I, you know, unless I absolutely

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_00]: positively can't hold it any longer, I'm not leaving the seat.

[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Correct.

[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And then that's, that's how I know that it's a good movie.

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if I don't move during the entire movie, in some movies, if

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_01]: they're that good, I mean, I wouldn't even get up and smoke or anything.

[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if it's, if I'm in that into it, you know what I mean?

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, which doesn't come around too often, but it's that movie theater mentality.

[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like if I'm in a movie theater, when I get up and what I get up to

[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_00]: take a P at this, you know, no, like, I mean, it has got

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_00]: to be a desperate situation.

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't get up much during.

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if I'm in a theater, I don't get up.

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_01]: No, normally.

[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, I have a routine, like, like before I go to go into a theater,

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_00]: like I will make sure I have, you know, go take a piss now.

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Get, get, get as much out of your body as you can.

[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I will not touch my drink until the movie actually starts.

[00:56:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Really?

[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't want like, oh man, I'm sitting here for 15 minutes and

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I drink like two big sips of my, you know, my Slurpee.

[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And now all of a sudden with a half hour left in the movie,

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_00]: well, you took those two fucking steps early.

[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Now you got to pee again.

[00:56:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You know that that's like the mentality.

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's a weird thing.

[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's just my mentality of like, you know, how do you survive,

[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_00]: especially if it's like a Avengers end game or, you know,

[00:57:08] [SPEAKER_00]: you don't want to get up.

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I do not want to get up at all.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to get up at all.

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_01]: No.

[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's just weird how we've, where we've come to,

[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean?

[00:57:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And even sometimes like, like trying to find something to watch.

[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And there was like that, that channel, like the TV guide channel,

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_00]: they're like scrolled through the channels for like, so you had to sit

[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_00]: there and wait and see like, okay, oh, that's on USA.

[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm watching that.

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was like that, like if you didn't have a TV guide,

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_00]: right.

[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Which again was a massive thing back in the day.

[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It was huge.

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like even like the newspaper printed their own like version, right.

[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Which gave you like a grid with like all the major channels and what was on,

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_00]: even cable channels.

[00:58:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, and it was like, fuck, you know, that's how you set up your life.

[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:58:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, and that's, and that's like with newspapers.

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's how you got all the movies and yeah.

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_00]: They were playing back in the day, like look at going to the newspaper and find

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_00]: it the like on the Sunday paper, especially like the listings and like plus

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_00]: not only that, but they also like the, the, like the mini movie posters.

[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And then like underneath the movie poster, like all the theaters that

[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_00]: we were showing at, right?

[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like stuff like that.

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, that was so much fun.

[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you can, and then you could call.

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And then wait for them, you know, to scroll.

[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_01]: We're playing, you know what I mean?

[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And then, but that was like a long phone call and you're sitting there

[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_01]: with a pen and paper, like writing the shit down.

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Now all you have to do is pick up your phone.

[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_00]: If I got your phone, you know, looking up.

[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Completely different.

[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a different way of life.

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_00]: It is, it is a completely, it is like, it's strange.

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And I, and I'm sure like every generation does this like, oh, back in my day.

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_00]: But like it's a, it's just that odd thing of being at that age.

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Now we're at, you, we do look back and we see like, man, how

[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_00]: do we survive that shit?

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Like how do we make it?

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess we didn't know any better.

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_01]: That's part of it.

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's because it's what we had.

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the, the same time it's like, I also like wonder like, okay, 20 years

[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_00]: from now, how are they going to look back at this time and be like, well,

[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_00]: how did you survive?

[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck was wrong with you people?

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I mean, like it's, it is, it's a very interesting

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_00]: way of looking at things.

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And the way we look at things now as compared to back then and,

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, there's an angry child.

[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Everything's so different.

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's a, it's a, it's really different.

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And I, I'm, we've become old.

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_00]: We have.

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And I, I enjoy, but I also hate like they're like these people now.

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like these gen X influencers.

[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, like they're on tick talk and they're on like Facebook reels and

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: stuff and they post these videos and they're fun, but it's also like, I want

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: to smack them in the head sometimes.

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause it's like, cause it's always the same shit.

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, Jen X is the fucker on to find out generation.

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, we were raised on hose water and neglect and you know, all

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: the, all like, it's like this thing of like, you know, I get it, but

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: you're kind of drilling that into the ground.

[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, let's talk about the reality of things.

[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, my, my, I was a last key kid, not because my parents didn't care

[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_00]: about me, but because they had to work two jobs, right?

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like you were a last key kid.

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause your mom was working, right?

[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it, it, it was that, that thing of, of like, it wasn't neglect.

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, and they love to leave that part out.

[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: They like, they love this kind of like make it sound like, like we

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: were just like unwanted and it wasn't that it was just a matter of, well,

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: this is what was necessary to survive.

[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: To survive.

[01:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like this is what my parents had to do.

[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You're right.

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, my mom didn't want to work.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: My mom wanted to be there for me.

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: She wanted to have dinner for me.

[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, this was the stuff that you just, you did.

[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, so that, that type of stuff kind of grinds my gears.

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And also it's like, I look at the majority of them.

[01:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say the majority, not all of them, but like, it's

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: like, they look like they're in a good spot in life.

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, and I, I feel like, like Gen X is one of the first generations

[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_00]: that did not do as well as the previous.

[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like boomers did as well, if not better than the silent generation.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But when it got to us, like there is a fall off and I feel like millennials

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and Gen Z kind of look at us.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Like we're the last generation to live the American dream.

[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And I hate to break it to you, but we're not.

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_00]: No, we're not.

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, let me shoot a bit of reality at you here.

[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, for the majority of us, I think, like retirement is a joke.

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there will be no retirement.

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I will be fired at my funeral because I'm a no call no show.

[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like that, that will, that's what's going to happen to me.

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, that's the stuff I'm talking about.

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, like six, retirement ages of 65 is like a joke.

[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: It's never going to happen.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm going to work until I die.

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't get to live the American dream.

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I rent a house.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't own it.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I, I don't drive a great car.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, I drive, I've never owned a new car.

[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like those are the things that like, I feel like, like the

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_00]: younger generations look at us and say like, Oh yeah, you've got it so

[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_00]: great and then you fucked it up for us.

[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I hate to break it to you.

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_00]: We're the generation to figure it out that everything is rigged.

[01:04:11] Right.

[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's not broken.

[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's rigged.

[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: The system is rigged, you know, and you're just a spoke on a wheel.

[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And if that spoke breaks, I'll replace it with another one.

[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so every time your number.

[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, yeah.

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, well, all of these younger generations, like, well, we're

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_00]: going to fix it, like there's nothing to fix it's rigged.

[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a loaded hand.

[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And the house always wins and you're not the house.

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So get in line and do the job, you know, like stop bitching about it.

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And he can handle your business.

[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So like that, but like, you know, and it's always like, well,

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Gen X is like, you know, the generation that like, you know,

[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_00]: don't, don't bother Gen X.

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, well, yeah.

[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And then they're like, well, why don't you give a fuck?

[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's because we figured that out.

[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: A long time ago.

[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you want to yell at boomers, but, and you want to yell at us.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, I don't care.

[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I yell all you want.

[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you're not going to hurt my feelings.

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny how they just don't see that side.

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[01:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it seems like it's the easiest thing to figure out.

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're, you're, you're, you're yelling at a cloud, but you know,

[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean like, cause like, I don't care.

[01:05:41] Right.

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, like these younger generations talking about like, you know, the,

[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: the, the safe spaces and everything that goes along, you know, all

[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_00]: the stuff with it, like if that's what you feel like you need, that's fine.

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't give a fuck, but like, don't expect me to want that.

[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think that's what offends them more than anything is like, like,

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like, I don't care.

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like call me whatever the fuck you want.

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Say what you want.

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Say what you will.

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it doesn't stop me from my day.

[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm just going to continue head down nose at a grindstone.

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure what they want.

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_00]: No, neither do I.

[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you want to acknowledge me, I'm not going to give it to you.

[01:06:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You know why?

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: The previous generations sure as fuck didn't acknowledge me.

[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, get used to it.

[01:06:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but so spoke on the wheel.

[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Spoke on the wheel.

[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Just keep running, you know?

[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: So like that's the stuff that like, and I love that there's the one guy

[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_00]: who's like, you know, Jen X why, why'd you have to drink from a hose?

[01:06:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Were sinks not an option?

[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, no, they weren't.

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you were not allowed inside the house.

[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It was like, get the fuck out.

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: You come back at five for dinner, then you leave.

[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't come back until, you know, I yell for you.

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: But when the light, the street lights come on, yeah.

[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_02]: You leave us alone.

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And again, that wasn't neglect.

[01:07:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think it was neglect.

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was, it was just like, it was shit that got ruined

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: because the world is an awful place.

[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And they don't understand that.

[01:07:37] Yeah.

[01:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause again, that's like, like it was, it was that thing of like, I

[01:07:42] [SPEAKER_00]: was told stranger danger, right?

[01:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like you don't get into a car with a stranger.

[01:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't, um, you don't get into a car with one of our friends.

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like my mom would like tell me, you know, if, if my friend Chris

[01:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: comes and says, Hey, I'll give you a ride home, you say no.

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: As much as they trusted Chris, like Chris, you just didn't get in the car.

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you did not get in the car with anybody.

[01:08:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you made your way home.

[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you don't, don't take a drink from a stranger.

[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't do it.

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, there was so much shit that was like, so that when I guess.

[01:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: When we became adults and we started having children, right.

[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of saying like, okay, I trust you not to get

[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: into a car with a stranger.

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_00]: We said, you know what?

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to helicopter pair you.

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like we, we are not going to let you out of our site.

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if that was for better.

[01:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I can't say it because I never had a kid, you know, but like, as

[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_00]: somebody who didn't have a kid looking at those who did, it's like

[01:08:48] [SPEAKER_00]: all the things that frightened us as children that were, you

[01:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: know, impaled into our brain.

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_00]: We took that and said, well, I'm going to wrap my child in a

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: protective cocoon to prevent this from ever happening.

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And what it ended up doing wasn't probably wasn't better.

[01:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's, it's, it's a weird thing.

[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't, I don't know what would have been better.

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, you know, I don't know either.

[01:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, and like all the psychological stuff, like you're talking about,

[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, you can't hit your kid while I can sometimes a kid needs it.

[01:09:24] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, I'm sorry.

[01:09:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I'm not talking about abuse.

[01:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think there's a fine line between abuse and punishment.

[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I was punished.

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I was never abused.

[01:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Like never in my life.

[01:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, did I get paddled?

[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Was it frequent?

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but when I did, I knew I fucked up.

[01:09:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I had to think about like, man, what did I do wrong?

[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, let's not ever do that again.

[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, ever.

[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:10:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So, but like it wasn't like, I don't look at that as abuse.

[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_03]: No.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I mean, there's a, and there's a huge difference.

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, if you were getting smacked every day for nothing,

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: like, you know, you were probably abused, you know, like, but like I wasn't.

[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, my sister certainly wasn't, you know, but at the same time we were

[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: punished, you know,

[01:10:28] and.

[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: But now, like if you try to punish a child that way, like you are.

[01:10:36] [SPEAKER_00]: In the wrong.

[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, no, you were.

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me hear that.

[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You will have government agencies coming down on your head so fucking fast.

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know what I mean?

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:10:47] Like.

[01:10:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I want to talk about it.

[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I was never told to go out back and get a switch.

[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I think you might've once.

[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_01]: What's that?

[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Been told to go get a switch.

[01:10:59] [SPEAKER_00]: A switch?

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, go pick out the stick I'm going to whoop your ass with.

[01:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: That's brutal.

[01:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And it better be a good one.

[01:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't come back with any flabby stick.

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: If it's not good enough, you're going to go back and get another one.

[01:11:18] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I know.

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_01]: You know.

[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I ever got this.

[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You never got the switch.

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Did you?

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, I never got the switch.

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Like.

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: To me, the worst toy in the world was when somebody would buy you the paddle

[01:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: ball.

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was bad.

[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Because once the string broke, that then became a paddle.

[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was bad.

[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so like anytime somebody got me like I baby the fuck out of

[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_00]: those.

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: What's that?

[01:11:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I would baby the fuck out of those.

[01:11:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Would you?

[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, cause like, you knew like, well, okay.

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: The second that the string breaks is now an implement for punishment.

[01:11:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And do I want them to have the implement of punishment?

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't.

[01:12:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So even like as a young child, I was like, well, we don't play with that

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_00]: that much so that it doesn't break.

[01:12:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[01:12:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And your parents are like, go ahead and play with it.

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no.

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_01]: That was the, uh, that ball sword is not hitting my ass.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_01]: That was the city switch.

[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know.

[01:12:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Mom got me there a couple of times.

[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember.

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I think, I think it was Tracy's, but it was a big plastic one.

[01:12:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Like no joke.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it was like, like this, like it was a good, you know, it was a

[01:12:42] [SPEAKER_00]: big and plastic and had like a clown's face on it and it like had

[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_00]: like a, a nerf ball at the end of it or like a foam ball.

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, well, once that string strung broke, like that was, that

[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: was the paddle for a very long time.

[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I was like living in fear of that fucking clown.

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Really?

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, cause like you knew, like if they, if they brought that thing down,

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_00]: like you really fucked up.

[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh shit.

[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I may have only gotten it once maybe twice with that thing.

[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, and it was never like, I always think like looking back at

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_00]: it, like, I never think my parents hit me all that hard.

[01:13:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was just a matter of the fact that I got hit

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_01]: the mechanism of what you were getting in.

[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there was a sting, but it was never like, they never hit me with

[01:13:37] [SPEAKER_00]: like any, like, you know, big Chuck was never turning it up to 10.

[01:13:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: It was like a, like a best a two.

[01:13:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you know, whap, you know, you're like, oh, fuck it.

[01:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like that shit like that.

[01:13:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you were never getting like really hit, but like, is it, is it

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: torched?

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But as a child, like you were just like, oh my God, that happened.

[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't look like, Oh, you know,

[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: my dad got me with him.

[01:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I can hold belt once that, yeah, I thought I was going to die.

[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It hurt and mom just used the hand and the thing.

[01:14:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:14:19] [SPEAKER_01]: She got me a wooden spoon a couple of times, but

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I took a wooden spoon across the knuckles a couple of times for like,

[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, reaching up for the stove while it's hot.

[01:14:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Did it?

[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, what the fuck is wrong with you?

[01:14:31] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, shit like that.

[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But again, like you got your knuckles wrapped at her, you cried.

[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But you're also like, well, if I don't want to get hit in the

[01:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: knuckles again, I better not reach for the stove.

[01:14:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I should not put my hand in that flame.

[01:14:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:14:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes the animals taught us lessons.

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_00]: What?

[01:14:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the best was I.

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Again, talking about how unsafe we lived.

[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like my parents had a kerosene heater in the house.

[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like that was something that people had.

[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You had a kerosene heater in your house and you know, I,

[01:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: dad's always telling me, can't touch it.

[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_00]: It's hot.

[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're going to burn yourself.

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to burn.

[01:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But one day the cat jumped on it and jumped right the fuck back off.

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you know, all four paws and like little blisters on them and stuff.

[01:15:35] [SPEAKER_00]: That cat was lounging for a few days waiting for this pause to heal.

[01:15:39] [SPEAKER_00]: So like it was like the cat taught me a lesson of like, you know, yeah, that's hot.

[01:15:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Dumbass.

[01:15:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Or the time like my parents had this.

[01:15:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It was a blue Kmart special fan from like 1970.

[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so it didn't have plastic blades.

[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_00]: It had steel blades in there.

[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh shit.

[01:16:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm reaching in, you know, trying to touch the blade as it's spinning.

[01:16:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like an oscillating saw.

[01:16:13] Yeah.

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: No clue.

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: My dad like grasping with me back.

[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_00]: It's what the fuck is wrong with you?

[01:16:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you want to see what will happen if you put your finger in there.

[01:16:21] [SPEAKER_00]: He goes and gets a paper plate spit, like.

[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Twist it up, sticks it in there.

[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You just like paper fragments flying all over the living room.

[01:16:31] [SPEAKER_00]: You want that to fucking happen to your finger?

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no.

[01:16:33] [SPEAKER_00]: It could be your flesh.

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Then don't fucking put your finger in there again.

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Dumbass.

[01:16:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yes, sir.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I will never do that again.

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You're the boss.

[01:16:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's like to the point later on, like when my friends would dare me

[01:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: to do like stuff like that, like with a plat, like I can't do that.

[01:16:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:16:51] [SPEAKER_00]: That's like even to this day, I'm kind of like, and boy, like they're

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_00]: plastic fucking blades.

[01:16:56] [SPEAKER_00]: They can't hurt you.

[01:16:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But like, there's like a little bit of me like remembers like being like six

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_00]: and my dad showing me like this could happen to your finger.

[01:17:03] [SPEAKER_00]: We're like, I don't fuck with like, I will wait till it stops spinning completely.

[01:17:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I did.

[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't even imagine.

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I never had that.

[01:17:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I used to fuck around with fans all the time because we grew up with fans.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

[01:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:17:27] [SPEAKER_01]: But not the metal ones.

[01:17:28] [SPEAKER_01]: No, like I, yeah.

[01:17:29] [SPEAKER_01]: My parents had a metal one.

[01:17:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember the metal fans.

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's bad one enough about this shit.

[01:17:42] Okay.

[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I think we're going to wrap it up here.

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything you'd like to add to the proceedings there, sir?

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm good, man.

[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, remember there are a number of different reasons you can reach out.

[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: There were different ways you can reach out.

[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, first of all, let me just say this before I delve into that.

[01:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to hear more of my hijinks and or shenanigans, I did

[01:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: appear this week on the history of bad ideas podcast, our good friends

[01:18:03] [SPEAKER_00]: from Cincinnati at some great conversation that took some amazing

[01:18:08] [SPEAKER_00]: twists and turns, one of the longest episodes they've had in quite some

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_00]: time according to them because I just completely put them off track.

[01:18:19] [SPEAKER_00]: But so check them out at history of bad ideas podcast.

[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You can find them on most pod catchers as well.

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Very, very easy to find.

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you want.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: If you'd like to contact us, hold on.

[01:18:35] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So I did.

[01:18:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I forgot to read that email.

[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So few some interesting points here.

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_00]: He says, I love umbrella Academy.

[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I wrote in months ago about the series and no one talked about it.

[01:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: F you, Sean.

[01:18:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm talking about it now because this final season premiered.

[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even remember when you wrote in about it.

[01:19:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you I've watched every season as it's premiered.

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you're just a Johnny come lately.

[01:19:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So F you that I love fact checking.

[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Sean Matthew McConaughey was a crazed preacher, not Gary Busey

[01:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: in contact wrong again, Sean.

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha wrong again.

[01:19:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Thad Matthew McConaughey played the preacher who was like in the

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_00]: government as part of like in the movie contact.

[01:19:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: That was Matthew McConaughey.

[01:19:37] [SPEAKER_00]: He did not blow up the first spaceship.

[01:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Gary Busey's crazed teacher did so.

[01:19:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha.

[01:19:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Dad, what'd you say?

[01:19:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I was talking to him.

[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_02]: He said, do you see what you see was the crazed pre in the movie contact.

[01:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: It was Gary Busey.

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Not Gary.

[01:19:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it son?

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It was Jake Busey.

[01:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:20:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Now I got to check myself.

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I could have swear it was Gary Busey.

[01:20:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's see here.

[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's scared James Woods.

[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, J.

[01:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: O'Dean Farrar was and I don't even remember that.

[01:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: No, you are right.

[01:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It was Jake Busey.

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So ha ha to me.

[01:20:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Fuck y'all.

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:20:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It was Jake Busey, not Gary Busey, but he's the one who like he was the

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_00]: crazed religious fanatic who blows up the Matthew McConaughey was the

[01:20:58] [SPEAKER_00]: preacher, but he was also a friend to Jodie Foster's character.

[01:21:04] [SPEAKER_00]: If I recall correctly, they had sex at some point.

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:21:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, Nancy is the best.

[01:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: She needs to replace Ian permanently.

[01:21:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Ian is too important to be on the show anymore.

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not true.

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not true at all.

[01:21:21] [SPEAKER_00]: He's just living his best life.

[01:21:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Massive difference.

[01:21:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And we support that.

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Sean, I am having my opening night for my Halloween show on

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Saturday, September 7th, you Nancy and Ian and Tim are invited.

[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I know it is a long shot.

[01:21:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You will have an excuse.

[01:21:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You need to bathe your Godzilla or something.

[01:21:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me know if you are coming or not, please ask Ian on the show.

[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Remember we have been friends for 30 plus years.

[01:21:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Guilt trip.

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Joke.

[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, first off, September 7th is way too fucking early.

[01:22:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: It is like this should be like October.

[01:22:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You should be doing this.

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Not, not September.

[01:22:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Like.

[01:22:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, like I'm not even going to get, I'm going to go down this

[01:22:11] [SPEAKER_00]: rabbit hole of hatred again because I hate like I, I went into a get go and

[01:22:17] [SPEAKER_00]: they already had out their fucking, um, Reese's, you know, Halloween, the

[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_00]: pumpkins, right?

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, it's too fucking early.

[01:22:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Like why is there a pumpkin roll in the bakery?

[01:22:34] [SPEAKER_00]: It is not pumpkin spice season yet.

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[01:22:38] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no.

[01:22:39] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so, so no, September 7th is way too fucking early.

[01:22:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Number one for any Halloween hijinks whatsoever.

[01:22:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, number two, yes, I'm going to be busy that day.

[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I'm going to be doing, but I will be busy that day.

[01:22:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I've already had, we already had this discussion with Nancy.

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Like we discussed, like when I was a kid, I did not enjoy going

[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_00]: driving around looking at the.

[01:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: How the Christmas decorations, like, you know how people do that?

[01:23:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Like they drive around like, let's just look at the Christmas lights.

[01:23:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I hate that shit.

[01:23:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I hated it as a kid, as a kid.

[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, what the fuck are we doing?

[01:23:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:23:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like real people was on right now.

[01:23:18] [SPEAKER_00]: That's incredible was on right now.

[01:23:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Why are we driving around looking at fucking Christmas lights?

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_00]: This is stupid.

[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, I honestly, like as like a six year old, I felt that way and I

[01:23:32] [SPEAKER_00]: haven't changed since then in my regards to that, which is why I don't

[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_00]: believe in decorating for any.

[01:23:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, holiday, let alone Christmas or Halloween.

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So like for you to like invite me to opening day of your Halloween

[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_00]: display on September 7th, like two full months before Halloween even takes place.

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just not coming.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.

[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_00]: God bless you for doing it.

[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate the fact that this is something that you enjoy and you think

[01:24:08] [SPEAKER_00]: it brings joy to others and that's fantastic, but it's not my bag at all.

[01:24:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like at all, you know, it's funny.

[01:24:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I get it.

[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I, I, I don't, it's just, it's that thing to me of like, like I even

[01:24:29] [SPEAKER_00]: hate, and I said this on the show a few weeks ago because me and Nancy

[01:24:32] [SPEAKER_00]: talked about this, like you go to like, um, that one park and you like do the

[01:24:39] [SPEAKER_00]: drive through for like the Christmas lights while you drive around the

[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_00]: park.

[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[01:24:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I hated that.

[01:24:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I thought it was a waste of fucking money.

[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:24:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I got those a waste of taxpayer money.

[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like I'm like, man, my taxes went to this.

[01:24:56] [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so like if you dig it, that's fine.

[01:25:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, I good for you again.

[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I don't care if you like it or you don't, but like for me,

[01:25:13] [SPEAKER_00]: it's just, it's not something I just can't see driving all that way to watch

[01:25:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Halloween lights.

[01:25:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I get it.

[01:25:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, let alone, and that's not just for you, that that's for anybody.

[01:25:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, like I probably wouldn't show up to Ian's house to watch him do a

[01:25:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Halloween display either.

[01:25:33] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, you wouldn't.

[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't.

[01:25:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I would be like, yeah, I got something going on.

[01:25:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I got cats gotta go to the vet.

[01:25:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Have to remove a tapeworm from my ass.

[01:25:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:25:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I got something, you know?

[01:25:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, you know, don't be offended, but no, I'm not coming.

[01:25:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, Ian may, Tim may, right.

[01:25:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Nancy's more than welcome to, but yeah, I am not.

[01:25:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, uh, what'd you think of the new rings of power trailer drop for season two?

[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't watched it yet.

[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_01]: When's that coming out?

[01:26:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I think at the end of the month or the beginning of next month.

[01:26:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember.

[01:26:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You enjoyed that.

[01:26:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Did you?

[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I did.

[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I enjoyed the first season.

[01:26:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was pretty good.

[01:26:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:26:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, a lot of money went into that.

[01:26:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[01:26:20] [SPEAKER_00]: They, they, they sunk a lot of money into that.

[01:26:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, last week we, we, we did a ranking of we, there was

[01:26:28] [SPEAKER_00]: a magazine that did a ranking of the top 100.

[01:26:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Sci-fi movies of all time.

[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, that says I mostly agree with the top 20, but ghostbusters needs to

[01:26:37] [SPEAKER_00]: be ranked higher and Godzilla minus one needs to be lower.

[01:26:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, first off, there's a little minus one was not on the list because

[01:26:42] [SPEAKER_00]: it was only movies before the year 2000.

[01:26:47] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's a little minus one would not make this list at

[01:26:49] [SPEAKER_00]: all because of the timeframe.

[01:26:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But also again, I will say this.

[01:26:54] [SPEAKER_00]: How dare you disparage Godzilla minus one.

[01:26:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Right?

[01:27:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I will again say to each their own, like I understand you

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_00]: like when Godzilla is a good guy.

[01:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I get that.

[01:27:11] [SPEAKER_00]: That's how I grew up watching most Godzilla movies.

[01:27:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:27:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But I also understand what the original Godzilla movie was all about.

[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I felt this movie harken back to that in many, many ways, giving us

[01:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: a fantastic movie about, you know, humanity and post war Japan and

[01:27:29] [SPEAKER_00]: PTSD and so many other things that were wrapped up into that story

[01:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: of forgiveness and everything.

[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And Godzilla was just the, the MacGuffin.

[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:27:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, and it was just a brilliant fucking movie and Godzilla was

[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_00]: phenomenal for what he was used for.

[01:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I agree, you know, the scariest Godzilla I've ever seen.

[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[01:27:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And there are like, you know, there are other movies out there where

[01:27:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Godzilla is not the good guy.

[01:27:59] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[01:28:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And I like those movies too.

[01:28:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, I, I, the original Godzilla movie, because it was on a good guy.

[01:28:07] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[01:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I understand why you don't like it, but I don't think you

[01:28:16] [SPEAKER_00]: should be putting it down because of that.

[01:28:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know what I mean?

[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's like me saying, I don't like the Godfather movies.

[01:28:22] [SPEAKER_00]: They're awful.

[01:28:23] [SPEAKER_00]: They're not awful.

[01:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: The first two are masterpieces.

[01:28:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't care for gangster movies.

[01:28:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[01:28:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's, you know what I mean?

[01:28:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's how I look at it.

[01:28:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a big fan of the Godfather either.

[01:28:35] [SPEAKER_01]: No, but I, but, but I mean, I respect the movie for what it is.

[01:28:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[01:28:39] [SPEAKER_00]: It, it, it, you can't deny what it is.

[01:28:42] [SPEAKER_00]: It is a masterpiece of a movie, but at the same time, I just

[01:28:46] [SPEAKER_00]: don't like that genre of movies.

[01:28:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:28:49] [SPEAKER_00]: There are movies I don't like, but it's because, not because they're

[01:28:52] [SPEAKER_00]: bad movies.

[01:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just because I don't dig what they're about.

[01:28:57] Right.

[01:28:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:28:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get into, I don't, I don't really get into gangster movies either.

[01:29:03] No.

[01:29:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I've seen them.

[01:29:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:29:07] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I respect what they are, but like good

[01:29:09] [SPEAKER_01]: fellows and stuff like that, but yeah.

[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I want some good fellows casino.

[01:29:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I mean, they're great movies.

[01:29:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:29:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't deny what they are, but it just not my cup of tea.

[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[01:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but like, it's, it's that odd thing of like, if I

[01:29:22] [SPEAKER_00]: don't like that movie, people are like, what?

[01:29:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's just not my thing.

[01:29:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, just choice.

[01:29:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:29:29] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I get that.

[01:29:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's just, I'm the same.

[01:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I, yeah, some genres I just can't get into.

[01:29:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I like my, my vice is post-apocalyptic movies.

[01:29:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:29:42] [SPEAKER_01]: That's not on everybody's bag.

[01:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:29:44] [SPEAKER_01]: They don't like those types of movies.

[01:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[01:29:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:29:47] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?

[01:29:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[01:29:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Like Furiosa, I'm still recommending it to you, even though there's a ton of sand

[01:29:54] [SPEAKER_00]: because I know you like post-apocalyptic movies.

[01:29:56] [SPEAKER_00]: You will get past the sand part.

[01:29:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I did on the first one.

[01:29:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:30:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not first, but I did for fury road.

[01:30:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:30:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Fury road.

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I got past it.

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:30:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So like, that's what I mean.

[01:30:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's that funny thing of like, like, I know you're the things you

[01:30:09] [SPEAKER_00]: don't like, and I know the things you like, but like it was like

[01:30:12] [SPEAKER_00]: furious, so you're going to get past the fact that you just can't

[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_00]: stand sand to enjoy that movie because of the, the post-apocalyptic theme of it.

[01:30:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[01:30:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's the same thing with me about Westerns.

[01:30:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:30:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't like, I don't like a lot of Western movies.

[01:30:25] [SPEAKER_01]: There are some I do.

[01:30:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:30:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but for the most part, I'm not this, I'm not all gung ho on Western movies.

[01:30:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[01:30:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't like them.

[01:30:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:30:34] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?

[01:30:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, it's just, I don't know, just who I am, but I respect, I

[01:30:41] [SPEAKER_01]: respect them.

[01:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I just can't get into them.

[01:30:44] Yeah.

[01:30:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Unforgiven is a great movie.

[01:30:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[01:30:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I just can't get into it.

[01:30:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:30:52] Yeah.

[01:30:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:30:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the good, bad and the ugly series, the spaghetti Westerns.

[01:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:30:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Great films.

[01:30:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Can't really get into them now.

[01:31:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[01:31:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't know.

[01:31:04] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I understand that.

[01:31:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I get the art direction.

[01:31:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I get everything about them.

[01:31:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:31:10] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I just, you know, just can't get into them.

[01:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[01:31:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:31:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there are a lot of movies, I feel like I can, like there are a

[01:31:19] [SPEAKER_00]: lot of movies out there that I can tell you.

[01:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm judging on people that do like them.

[01:31:24] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, too much sand for me.

[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I understand.

[01:31:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there's a lot of movies out there that like, you know,

[01:31:28] [SPEAKER_01]: sand horses and donkeys.

[01:31:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like people will tell you like, Oh, this is a great movie.

[01:31:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And I w I just can't get into it because the subject matter, right?

[01:31:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, is just not my thing, but I won't, I'm not going to

[01:31:39] [SPEAKER_00]: sit there and disparage it.

[01:31:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.

[01:31:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, cause you know, it very well may be a very good movie.

[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a great movie and maybe an Oscar winner, you know, right.

[01:31:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's just not for me.

[01:31:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And unforgiven was good, but it just, I don't have to

[01:31:54] [SPEAKER_01]: watch it like 300 times.

[01:31:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:31:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Just, I just don't.

[01:31:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Tombstone on the other hand.

[01:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a great movie.

[01:32:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I can watch it 300.

[01:32:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:32:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I can watch it 300 times.

[01:32:05] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, complete it's a cowboy movie.

[01:32:12] [SPEAKER_00]: There's some sand, but fuck that movies good.

[01:32:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Shit.

[01:32:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:32:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I think Val Kilmer is dark holiday.

[01:32:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Steals the fucking movie from everybody.

[01:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So good.

[01:32:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be your huckleberry.

[01:32:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:32:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I mean.

[01:32:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like honey.

[01:32:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I mean.

[01:32:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Like there are that, there is like that odd thing of like, yeah,

[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_00]: it's a very good movie.

[01:32:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to deny that, but I just, it's not for me and people

[01:32:46] [SPEAKER_00]: don't understand that.

[01:32:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:32:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Can't get past it.

[01:32:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:32:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And I, so I understand why you don't like Godzilla minus one,

[01:32:55] [SPEAKER_00]: but I think you have to acknowledge it as a very, very good movie.

[01:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[01:33:01] [SPEAKER_00]: In all honesty, it is like, I still feel we got ripped off for not

[01:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: like movie of the year.

[01:33:07] [SPEAKER_00]: What's that?

[01:33:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Godzilla minus one.

[01:33:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:33:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like maybe it, maybe it doesn't win, but it should have been nominated.

[01:33:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it got the only nomination it got was for special effects.

[01:33:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And like to me, like that at the very least it should have been

[01:33:22] [SPEAKER_00]: up for foreign movie of the year.

[01:33:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree with you.

[01:33:25] [SPEAKER_00]: At the, but like, there's also a part of me is like, well, why

[01:33:29] [SPEAKER_00]: wasn't it nominated for best picture?

[01:33:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:33:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause the story was fantastic.

[01:33:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:33:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause it's Godzilla.

[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Is that why?

[01:33:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[01:33:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Because the Godzilla was not the main piece of that movie.

[01:33:40] [SPEAKER_01]: It was just a very well done movie.

[01:33:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:33:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree with you.

[01:33:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:33:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, it was a really good movie.

[01:33:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[01:33:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And like, that's the thing that drives me nuts is like, it goes back

[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_00]: to like, you know, why wasn't the dark night nominated?

[01:33:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, because it's a Batman movie.

[01:33:53] [SPEAKER_00]: If you change Batman out with some rogue FBI agent, it's a masterpiece.

[01:33:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Like people would have like drooled all over it and it would have been

[01:34:00] [SPEAKER_00]: one awards and yeah, but because it's Batman.

[01:34:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, we can't put that up for best picture.

[01:34:06] [SPEAKER_00]: That are you, are you nuts?

[01:34:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's that's, that's what I think.

[01:34:09] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I think the Oscar is so full of shit.

[01:34:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So do I.

[01:34:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Me too.

[01:34:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I, as I've gotten older, I've like that type of stuff.

[01:34:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like, yeah, fuck that shit.

[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, I like what I like and I don't give a fuck what anybody

[01:34:23] [SPEAKER_00]: else thinks, but even like, like tomato scores and stuff like that.

[01:34:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm like, yeah, if it's interesting to me, it's interesting to me.

[01:34:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:34:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, sometimes I like a bad movie too.

[01:34:37] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, just want to be entertained.

[01:34:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:34:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like buckaroo Bonsai.

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a bad movie.

[01:34:43] [SPEAKER_00]: It's terrible.

[01:34:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:34:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But I love it.

[01:34:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, flash Gordon from 1980, terrible movie.

[01:34:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[01:34:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so like that's just how, you know, even, um, like sky

[01:34:58] [SPEAKER_00]: captain in the world of tomorrow.

[01:35:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:35:02] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a horrible movie.

[01:35:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[01:35:05] [SPEAKER_00]: They, I do like, I can watch that back to back with the

[01:35:09] [SPEAKER_00]: rocketeer and the rocketeer is a very good movie.

[01:35:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[01:35:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the rocketeer is one of those movies that like people forgotten about.

[01:35:16] [SPEAKER_00]: But like, if you go back and you, you watch the rocketeer, that's

[01:35:19] [SPEAKER_00]: a very, it's a fun movie.

[01:35:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I know you like, yeah, like sky captain in the world tomorrow.

[01:35:26] [SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's bad, but, but it's fun.

[01:35:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
