[00:00:44] That's social. In my travels, I've seen people traveling for football games, even overseas, and have read of a few who have traveled far for a concert. Now, I know I have, but the question is, how far would you go? That trend of traveling for an event is called the

[00:01:17] gig tripping. Some people travel far because they can't get tickets in their current hometown. Others do it because they'd like to travel and figure that they can get the best of both worlds. Gig trippers usually plan a vacation around seeing a concert or two. That would be the only way I do it. Taylor Swift is a perfect example. I cannot believe how much her tickets cost. And I'm glad I'm not a

[00:01:47] fan because I would never see her live. I would just wait until someone records it on YouTube. Now, it's been known that you can save thousands of dollars by flying to a city with cheaper prices. Recent survey data from Skyscanner found that 60% of Americans were open to traveling abroad to save money on music events. According to Get Your Guide,

[00:02:11] a survey showed that almost half of Americans chose a destination based on a place that a concert would be.

[00:02:19] You can maximize your experience by joining a fan meetup or take a tour of the city. I know I'm looking forward to seeing

[00:02:27] Alexander O'Neill one day who was touring in Europe, but I wouldn't mind waiting until he comes to the States.

[00:02:36] Last summer, I did travel to Las Vegas to see Beyonce and got a deal with The Room for less than price of a nosebleed ticket in my city. I mean, I love Las Vegas, so it's not the only reason I went, and it's not far, so it wasn't a stretch for me.

[00:03:00] There are a few downsides to gig tripping. One of them is having a higher cost of accommodations.

[00:03:07] For those who aren't there for the concert, the crowds can deter them from having a good time enjoying the city.

[00:03:16] It's best to weigh out the pros and cons. Are you really saving if you're paying thousands for the flight and the room?

[00:03:26] Have you ever gig tripped, or is this something that you'd consider?
