[00:00:16] Thank you for tuning in to Dreas Point of View. I am your hostess, Drea, and for the next 10 minutes or so, I will be giving you my perspective on a topic that I feel passionate about.

[00:00:28] Make sure that you are following me on the socials. You can find me almost everywhere at Dreas Point of View on IG, Facebook, and Threads. And you can find me at Dreapoint on X and Spill.

[00:00:47] So I don't normally do topics that are controversial, but I just wanted to talk about something that's been weighing heavy on my mind the past few weeks. Something that is really inevitable.

[00:01:07] I mean, whether you watch the news or not, if you're scrolling, everyone else is talking about it. And that is the election. Election anxiety is what I think I have.

[00:01:21] Now, and it's not about who you're voting for. I don't really, I'm not going to divulge that, but I will say I did vote. And the past few years I mailed in my ballot.

[00:01:36] I mail it in because I don't want to go to the polls and deal with the drama, and I'm definitely not going to do it on election day. I want to be as far away from the polls as possible.

[00:01:47] I don't like doing anything last minute. To me, that's like waiting until December 24th to do your Christmas shopping.

[00:01:54] You know what's coming. You get a chance to do it early. Go ahead and get it out of the way.

[00:01:57] And with me mailing it in, I get an email or I get a text saying that my bowl, my ballot is in and counted. So there's that.

[00:02:11] But it's more so, I don't recall any other election where, okay, you have the commercials, of course. You have to have that. And you have the debates.

[00:02:22] But then there's also those who, I don't remember any election where there are so many celebrities backing people. So many celebrities are speaking.

[00:02:38] There are so many rallies. There are so many people being very boisterous about who they are voting for.

[00:02:45] I see so many shirts. I see many hats. And that's another topic that one of my best friends and I were talking about.

[00:02:54] Neither one of us cares to talk about who we voted for.

[00:03:00] Being open with it anyway. Because that just, I don't like to get involved in political conversations.

[00:03:09] It just really, to me, I give it to anyone who, I know you got the freedom of speech, but I'll give it to anyone who feels free enough to wear peril with who they're voting for.

[00:03:26] And also those who have signs and posters in front of their house.

[00:03:33] I was driving in two different states in the South and I saw, for each party, signs on their lawn.

[00:03:42] And I'm like, I can't imagine being egged or violated or anything for their political views.

[00:03:50] And everyone's entitled to their view. But I don't know. I think that's something that I would never do.

[00:04:00] But it's like every day I'm hearing something about the election.

[00:04:06] And like I said, in years past, I've never heard it.

[00:04:09] And then I hear this about, it's coming down to race.

[00:04:13] Which it is. Because you are either voting for a white man or a younger black woman.

[00:04:20] And then it's like the previous election, it was what?

[00:04:25] Seeing where the Latinos are going to vote.

[00:04:28] Now it's seeing that men will vote and it's all falling on black men.

[00:04:34] And I know there was a conversation online talking about, okay, making sure that black men vote and how they're not really with us.

[00:04:44] And I'm like, okay, well, shouldn't that be men in general?

[00:04:49] But we're just talking about black men.

[00:04:51] I don't, just by conversations alone.

[00:04:56] I don't see too many of them possibly voting for us.

[00:05:00] I know a lot of men have problems with a woman being in charge.

[00:05:05] Or having some type of seniority over them.

[00:05:08] I know that firsthand.

[00:05:11] So they may be an issue.

[00:05:14] But I'm like, okay, so what about other men?

[00:05:17] I know plenty of men who have problems with a black woman in charge.

[00:05:23] But we're mainly talking about black men, which is interesting.

[00:05:27] I guess the dynamic between us isn't really the best.

[00:05:33] But either way, there's going to be anarchy.

[00:05:37] There's going to be riots in certain places, I'm sure.

[00:05:40] Which is why I made sure to take off that day and the day after.

[00:05:45] I want no parts of anything that's going to happen.

[00:05:50] So I guess we'll have to see, right?

[00:05:52] And I can only imagine what other countries are thinking about us.

[00:05:57] And who we've chosen in the past.

[00:06:01] So we shall see.

[00:06:03] But whatever you do, whether you vote red, blue, green,

[00:06:08] just definitely make sure you vote.

[00:06:11] Because if you don't vote, you don't have a voice.

[00:06:13] I don't want to hear anybody saying,

[00:06:14] oh, I didn't vote because this, that, and the third.

[00:06:17] Just do it.

[00:06:19] And just watching people, watching the post online,

[00:06:22] and even some celebrities.

[00:06:25] Pretty much we know who they're voting for.

[00:06:27] There are a few that chose to be independent, and that's fine.

[00:06:31] But as long as they vote.

[00:06:37] Not sure if I will do an episode of the outcome.

[00:06:42] I might.

[00:06:43] But I definitely just wanted to do it now because it just seems like it's a lot.

[00:06:47] Like daily, people are talking about this whole election.

[00:06:52] And every election is important, but it's really a battle of the races.

[00:06:59] But what was the last one?

[00:07:00] A battle of what?

[00:07:04] I mean, I don't want to say sane and insane.

[00:07:10] The bad.

[00:07:11] But it's, yeah, it's always something every year.

[00:07:14] It's so, every election year.

[00:07:16] So we'll see what happens.
