[00:00:46] Almost every time I go into a dollar store, I see someone with balloons.

[00:00:54] They're not always bought for kids.

[00:00:58] On Valentine's Day, I see them everywhere.

[00:01:02] And that gave me an idea to talk about the meaning behind balloons in different cultures and by color.

[00:01:13] In our culture, well first let me say I'm Drea. Welcome to Dreas Point of View.

[00:01:42] So in our culture we use balloons as decorations or gifts.

[00:01:47] At birthday parties they symbolize a celebration of life.

[00:01:52] In the Hindu religion, balloons are associated with the holy festival or the festival of colors.

[00:02:01] Balloons are filled with colored water and the bursting of the balloons represents the breakdown of social barriers.

[00:02:08] In Chinese culture, balloons are associated with the lantern festival.

[00:02:13] Balloons are also used during the Chinese New Year to symbolize good luck.

[00:02:18] In Native American culture, balloons are used in healing rituals.

[00:02:24] They are used to carry prayers and as a form of divination or divination.

[00:02:31] The direction is seen as a message from the spirits.

[00:02:36] Releasing balloons is what I've done on occasion.

[00:02:41] That signifies letting go of emotions or burdens.

[00:02:46] It symbolizes moving forward.

[00:02:49] In psychology, they can serve as a therapeutic tool for self-expression.

[00:02:54] According to shunspirit.com, different colors give a different meaning.

[00:03:01] Red balloons mean passion and strong emotions.

[00:03:06] They're perfect for Valentine's Day.

[00:03:09] They can also symbolize power and strength.

[00:03:13] That's another thing too as a side note.

[00:03:15] I always see people with balloons on Valentine's Day.

[00:03:20] Like, I don't know, I don't want a balloon for any holiday, not at this big age.

[00:03:26] I just, what, I mean, are you decorating my room with it?

[00:03:33] What do you expect me to do?

[00:03:35] It's just, I don't know.

[00:03:38] I'm just not really crazy.

[00:03:40] It just bothers me when I see an adult with a balloon.

[00:03:43] I'm like, I'm hoping you're getting that for a kid.

[00:03:44] And they don't always just have one.

[00:03:47] They have a whole handful of balloons.

[00:03:51] Like I just can't imagine somebody bringing me a bunch of balloons and saying happy anything.

[00:03:56] Let me get back to the episode.

[00:03:58] Blue balloons, which I hardly see, are associated with calmness, peace and wisdom.

[00:04:06] You can usually find these associated with male events.

[00:04:11] Green balloons are linked to nature and represent balance and fertility.

[00:04:16] You may see these at gardening events and St. Paddy's Day events.

[00:04:21] Purple balloons are associated with loyalty and power.

[00:04:25] They are used for elegant events and celebrations of achievement.

[00:04:30] Pink balloons are linked to innocence.

[00:04:33] They are seen at baby showers and gender reveals.

[00:04:37] They can also evoke feelings of affection.

[00:04:41] White balloons symbolize purity and cleanliness.

[00:04:45] You can find these balloons at weddings or christens.

[00:04:49] Black balloons symbolize mystery and elegance.

[00:04:52] You can find these at Halloween parties.

[00:04:57] Multicolored balloons represent diversity.

[00:05:00] They are seen at festivals to create a lively atmosphere.

[00:05:06] According to spiritualnexus.net, our experiences are fleeting just like balloons.

[00:05:16] The life cycle of a balloon reflects a journey from birth to death.

[00:05:35] But the mylar balloons are not just regular balloons.

[00:05:41] Actually a friend of mine had a birthday and his were very nice.

[00:05:44] He had different colored balloons with his name on them for his birthday.

[00:05:54] It looked very classy.

[00:05:55] It was a decoration.

[00:05:56] I was like, why don't you keep one of them?

[00:05:58] The one with your name on it at least.

[00:06:00] That was done classy but just to give someone a balloon as a gift now.

[00:06:05] I'll pass.
