[00:00:30] Who doesn't want to spend less nowadays and still get quality?

[00:00:55] I know I do.

[00:00:57] When years ago I came across a store overseas that served that purpose and it's even better

[00:01:03] than Target.

[00:01:05] That store is Primark.

[00:01:10] Welcome to Dreas Point of View, I am your hostess Drea and I would love if you would follow

[00:01:14] me at Dreas Point of View on IG Pinterest, Facebook, Threads and Clubhouse.

[00:01:30] episodes I have for you including my season finale which will be coming up shortly.

[00:01:36] So about 13-14 years ago I came across a store in London called Primark and I stayed

[00:01:46] in it for hours.

[00:01:49] There are numerous locations each one different they finally brought it to the states but

[00:01:54] of course none are near me which is a good thing because I would always be broke.

[00:01:59] But each one is different with some having only one floor and others multiple floors.

[00:02:06] That can be quite dangerous but if you're buying for the whole family then you're

[00:02:11] fine.

[00:02:13] The store has everything from household goods to pet items.

[00:02:18] It has kids clothing, men's clothing, women's and accessories.

[00:02:25] They have numerous exits and a security guard at each one.

[00:02:30] Not sure if they're armed though.

[00:02:32] Once you enter they have these fishnet baskets to put your stuff in.

[00:02:37] I don't think I've ever grabbed not grabbed one because the prices are too good to

[00:02:41] be true.

[00:02:42] I remember buying a corduroy spring jacket years ago that cost me less than $10.

[00:02:49] I bought plenty of shoes for less than $10 ballet flats, converse knockoffs and they

[00:02:59] are the most comfortable shoes that I own.

[00:03:02] It's hard to keep these stores clean though I would say because they're always crowded

[00:03:11] although I have yet to go when they first open.

[00:03:15] One of the plus sides is that they have multiple people at the registers unlike most stores

[00:03:19] that only have two so the lines move very quickly.

[00:03:25] For years I wish they would come to the states and like I said they finally have.

[00:03:32] If you have one in your state you've got to check it out you will not be disappointed

[00:03:36] although I will say there seems to be a difference in quality.

[00:03:43] I mean it's still good but I don't know it was like whenever I go overseas I go to a

[00:03:48] prime mark and it just seems like better quality over there.

[00:03:52] Not surprising everything pretty much is better overseas.

[00:03:55] Another one in downtown Philadelphia is nice and affordable but maybe it's the staff

[00:04:02] that helps make it better in Europe.

[00:04:04] I don't really see any of them talking they're always working.

[00:04:10] It doesn't really give that international vibe over here but music isn't as good over here

[00:04:18] either the music keeps me in the stores over there.

[00:04:20] I mean if you're ever in Amsterdam there is one that has five levels believe it

[00:04:25] or not that is it's crazy it really is just imagine being trapped in a store of

[00:04:31] that size.

[00:04:33] Imagine having to clean it.

[00:04:36] If there are any takeaways from this store I would say there aren't any self-checkout

[00:04:42] lanes.

[00:04:43] I'm a really big self-checkout lane girl but like I said the lines they move quickly

[00:04:47] so there's never really an issue.

[00:04:51] Another caveat is there are no restrooms but I will say after all my years of shopping

[00:04:56] there I didn't really notice that until someone else brought it up in a review.

[00:05:01] I seldom use the restrooms anyway while I'm shopping but that is still good to know.

[00:05:07] They do have a website but I don't see a way of having something shipped you can like save

[00:05:12] it in your basket and then go there and see if they have it.

[00:05:17] You'll learn something is available at your store but can't have it delivered so they

[00:05:22] need to work on that.

[00:05:25] But then again people really wouldn't shop in their stores right if they had that

[00:05:29] feature.

[00:05:31] Primark is still my favorite store in the world and their website is primark.uk.

[00:05:38] So make sure you check it out go to one of the stores let me know if you've been or

[00:05:43] you intend to go at draisfointofviewatyahoo.com.

[00:06:00] My positive news story of the day comes from Teresa Kachindumoto.

[00:06:06] I'm sure that's pronounced incorrectly.

[00:06:09] Comes from a long lineage of Ngani chiefs, traditional authority figures in Malawi Africa.

[00:06:17] As the last born of 12 children she never thought that she would become a

[00:06:20] senior chief.

[00:06:22] She was the only child in the family who received an education and moved to live to work in another city.

[00:06:27] But one day her community came calling.

[00:06:30] The Ngoni tribe had selected her as a chief because she was good with people.

[00:06:36] In some places in Africa 10-year-old girls join marriage initiation camps

[00:06:40] where they lose their virginity and learn how to please a man.

[00:06:43] Crazy.

[00:06:44] When she became a chief Teresa decided to change that.

[00:06:47] With the support of the president and First Lady of Malawi

[00:06:50] Teresa abolished child marriages and moved her mission onto a national and international level.

[00:06:56] Her brave efforts paid off.

[00:06:58] In 2017 Malawi made historic landmark changes in its constitution

[00:07:03] and enforced a law that bans marriages under the age of 18.

[00:07:06] Thank God for that.

[00:07:08] Several girls I helped rescue returned as adults to give thanks.

[00:07:13] Each visit reminds me how important this work is.

[00:07:16] We get to shape a generation by narrowing the gender equality.

[00:07:21] Wow.

[00:07:22] That's that's amazing.

[00:07:26] I truly hope that you enjoyed this episode and will continue to listen to future episodes.
