[00:00:20] Welcome to episode 615 of the Pittsburgh Nerd Podcast. I'm Sean. I'm Nancy, and this is the only podcast that says... You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Cal. In time, you will help them achieve wonders.
[00:00:48] Drawing a blank. Sorry. I thought Cal would give it away. Cal L. It's Man of Steel. Oh, yes. You watched that recently. I just watched it last night. Last night. That's right. Yeah. You had an inspiration to want to watch it. Yeah. So to speak.
[00:01:11] Well, yeah. There's a Han... The works of Hans Zimmer. Apparently... Hans Zimmer will not be in concert, but it's apparently a show curated by him that he feels exemplifies his work over the years. Okay. So, it's at the Peterson Events Center, and I'm like, that'd be kind of a cool show to kind of see. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I don't know. I'm sure I won't go see it, but... No? No.
[00:01:41] Okay. Well, tickets would probably be pricey. I don't know. Like, I'm sure they would be. Like, any ticket price anymore is pricey. Yeah. Like, you know, but like... Like, I just wonder, like, something like that, I don't know how or if it would sell out. Great. Oh, yes. Yes. You know, like, you might be able to get a ticket last minute at a decent price. Right. Right. You know?
[00:02:12] Because that doesn't even sound like you have to be close for. Like, just as long as you're in the building. You hear the music. Right. Yeah. You know? Yeah. Like, there's not much to see. Yeah. It's not really a visual concert. It's, you know, audio. Right. But, like, I mean, like, any concert is audio, but, like, you want to... Like, when you go, like, see a band... No. I would not say every concert is audio, only audio.
[00:02:38] But when you go to see a band, like a band that you love, you want to see the performers. Because you know who they are. Correct. Like, you know, when you go see 30 Seconds to Mars, you want to see Jared Leto. Yes. You want to see Shannon. Yes. Those are the only two left. Yeah, you almost said... Yeah. Yeah. You had the T on your lips there. I did, yeah.
[00:03:10] But, like, for the most part, like, when you go to see a band... Jeez, that gain is high. We turned that down. When you go to see a band, like, you do want to see the band. Yes. But with an orchestral concert like this. Mm-hmm. Like, there's no, like, you know, that first violinist, she kicks ass! You know, like, I... Which is a shame, like, I'm sure, because I'm sure she does.
[00:03:40] It's just... They would love to be recognized. Right. Like, it's just... It's that thing of, like, you're not normally going to a... An orchestra concert to see... Right. ...the band. You're there to hear the music the orchestra is playing. Right. Like, maybe there's a show behind them. Like, I could see, like... You know, I've seen this done before, like, with, like, John Williams. Where they'll have, like, a screen. Ah, right. And they'll make sure they've seen the... Yes. Like, when they do the Duel of the Fates, you're seeing the Duel of the Fates.
[00:04:09] And, you know, like, oh, shit! Yeah! You know. Yeah, I'm sure whenever they do those Star Wars ones, they do that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's John Williams. Oh. I apologize. Pardon me. Yeah, that's John Williams. You know I'm terrible with names. Hmm. Huh. Yeah, well... Uh... Yeah. And the thing, you don't want...
[00:04:39] You don't want to really go alone to something like that either. So there'd be, like, two tickets. No, I could go alone to something like that. Would you? Yeah. I wouldn't want to. I would want to share it with someone. I'm at that point... I've been at that point for a long time. You kind of pulled me away from it for a while, but I'm kind of back to it. Where... I don't, like... Doing something like that by myself would not bother me. I know. I know.
[00:05:08] I've noticed that, yeah. Like, I have no problem going to see a movie by myself. Yeah, you're becoming that hermit crab again. Yeah. And... So, like, yeah, going to a show like that by myself would not bother me. At all. Mm-hmm. Because... Nothing wrong with it. Right. But I just... I'm at that point, too, where I'm just like... You know. Like, because you're... You're going to go to a concert in a couple of weeks... Mm-hmm. ...at the Peterson Events Center. Correct.
[00:05:40] And... I'm looking at it from the standpoint of, like... You're looking from the standpoint of... You're going to have me drop you off at the door of the Pete. Correct. And then I basically kind of have to figure out a way to pick you up at the door of the Pete. Pete. Yep. That part I don't know how I'm going to do. Right. But for me to go, it's... I'm going to park down at Soldiers in Sailors Hall. Right, right. I'm going to catch a bus to go up.
[00:06:08] Maybe I'll walk back down after the show because I... You know, it's an easy walk down the hill. Right. But either way, I'm like... You know, the whole kit and caboodle of what's involved with going to a concert on top of going to the... Being and just seeing the show is just... Right. I don't want to deal with that hassle. Right. Maybe that's because I'm fat. What does that have to do with it? Well, because I mean, in all honesty, like...
[00:06:36] I never expected that to come out of your mind. I'll say this. I had one of the last things I went to. And this was... I went with Ian and a bunch of people. And we went to go see... It was Kevin Smith. I remember when you went there. Yeah, and it was at the Homestead Library. Right. Yeah, I was going to say it was in... I almost said Mon Hall, but yeah, Homestead. Yeah, the Homestead Library. And the seat...
[00:07:05] At that time, and that was... Oh, God, I mean, that was like 15 years ago. I was still... What's that? We didn't even live here then. Yeah, no, it was a long, long time ago. Because he was still doing like podcasting on the regular. This was a live podcast. It was like... He did two podcasts. He did one with Jason Mewes. He did one with Scott Mosher. Right. And... But the seat was too small for me to sit in. Oh. Like, because I mean, there was a seat built in like 19...
[00:07:34] Or they like the wooden ones that... Oh, yeah. I hate those. Because I fit in it by 8th on them. And... I couldn't sit properly. And the people... Like, I was at the end. And the people who were next to me, like, I ruined their night. Oh. And I felt horrible about it. I sort of hope not. Come on. They left. Oh. Like, I felt horrible about it because I couldn't... You know. And that... And so, like, that's part of it too.
[00:08:03] It's like, I don't want to be... Yeah. Like, it's one thing to go to a movie theater and buy four seats. Yeah. Yeah. It's not even going to a concert and buy, like... So that I can sit comfortably and not worry about somebody else's experience being ruined... Right. ...by my... Obesity. Ruined. Ruined. Ruined. So... So, yeah. I'm... But, I mean, there's everything else on top of it. It's just, like, just the whole...
[00:08:33] Everything that's involved with going to a show like that now is, like... Yeah. And just so you know, we can walk to wherever you are. Right. We don't need to be picked up at the door. I know. But, like, if I tell you, like, you have to walk down the Soldiers and Sailors Hall and this is the route you're going to take, you're going to look at me like I'm insane. Yeah. Because you're going to go, like, I don't know where I'm going. Yeah. You don't know Oakland. It's been... Well, it's been a while since you and I have done that trek. Because we've done that trek a few times. Right. But the time...
[00:09:02] All the times we went, I don't think I parked the Soldiers and Sailors. Yes, you did. Did I? Yes. Okay. And we walked down? Yes. Okay. But, um... But either way, like, I mean, it doesn't matter where the show is at. Like, it's just... It's the... Remember the game we went to? And the guy looked at my t-shirt and said, Student Entresses Around the Pack. Yeah. Because you wore an Oakland Zoo shirt. I was fucking out. And I was like, what? I don't...
[00:09:31] I was so confused. Yeah. You were like, he thinks you go here because of your t-shirt. I was like... Which was weird because other people wore Oakland Zoo shirts. Yeah. And it wasn't student exclusive. No. No. I was so confused why he said that to me. Maybe he was being an asshole. I don't know, but... I'm not a student here. Don't I fucking wish? Yeah. And he was hitting on it. Oh.
[00:10:00] It was an old nasty dude. Yeah, yeah. Excuse me, miss. He was a guard. Students go over here. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. He looked more like, you know, um... What's the butler's name on the monsters? Lurch? Lurch? Yeah. Who's Thing? Thing is the hand from the... And it is... Okay. Yeah. So, yeah. He looked more like Lurch. So, yeah. There's no hitting on me like that.
[00:10:29] This was with you. Doesn't matter. Why would he hit on a... As we've... Why would he hit on a fat chick? As we've learned over the years. My presence, oddly enough, does not deter. Oh, my God. Do not even bring that up. Oh, the Kmart incident? Oh, my God. Oh. That's humiliating. Don't talk about it. It's not humiliating. It's funny because I got... I mean, that dude was just like... Because you ain't me.
[00:10:58] That dude was just like, have you ever played this game? I did. He wouldn't stop. My queen. My queen. I mean... I forgot about that. Is that gentleman with you? Is he bothering you? I'll call security. He was. What was that? I was buying that Ratchet and Clank game. You were. You were buying a Ratchet and Clank game. And... It was for the game system you had, though. Yeah, it was for a PSP. Yeah, that's it. Yeah.
[00:11:27] And that's when he started asking me about all these other games. And I'm like... That dude was just like... And I was like, why are you not walking over here? Like, why are you avoiding this? Yeah, I'm just like... And now I know why. Because you thought it was fucking hysterical. Oh, I did. It was hysterical. Because that dude was just like... Weird. I'm a very big fan of Japanese turn-based style games. Have you ever heard of Star Ocean? I never even fucking heard what you just said.
[00:11:58] Plus, I didn't hear... I didn't understand any of the stuff. Not understand. I didn't recognize any of the stuff. No. I was like, I'm here for Ratchet and Clank. Yeah. I play Mario. Yeah. End of story. There is no more. There will never be no more. The world I can show you, my queen. Now, if he would have pulled out Animal Crossing... Yeah, well... I might have changed my mind. Oh. Well, that's way before Animal Crossing, wasn't it?
[00:12:28] Yeah. I don't remember. How many... God, Kmart has not been on 51 in a long time. That wasn't 51. That was 30. I thought that was the one on 51. No, it was the one on 30. Oh, the one up there by what U-Haul is now. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. You are right. Yeah. Apologies. So you still have driving past her and doing that impression. Yeah. Just to piss you off. No, I... Yeah. Okay.
[00:12:58] Yeah, you did a couple times, didn't you? Yeah. You were like such a dick, too. I was like, shut up. Like, dude freaked me out. He was gonna start stalking me. And then I was like, dude... Here is my gamer tag. I don't know how many years ago was that, but I'm pretty sure I was way older than he was. Yes. So he's like hitting on an old fat chick. Like, what was the thrill there? Clearly you're a woman of taste. Yeah.
[00:13:26] I'm playing Ratchet and Clank. Yes. Yeah, so that was... Yeah, it was embarrassing, so stop. Dude was a freak. Come on. My queen's on the table with me right now. Huh. Yeah. Sometimes I don't know who's the master. Oh. She is. She is a queen!
[00:13:56] You know, she is definitely... Got you wrapped around every single paw. Yeah. You weren't even that close to dressed. You weren't. No, I was. Mm-mm. This is a different connection. No. Okay, I'll give you that. I'll give you that. Is it different? Can I... You're right, because there's a difference between Ahsoka and Darby. You're right. You're right. I want you to know that, yeah. I think I was closer to Driss than I was with her, but the connection is different,
[00:14:25] because, I mean... You were with her a lot more than him, but she's a little bit more affectionate than he was. Also, Driss was me. Right, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She's not. No. No. Driss was, like, the incarnation of me as a cat. Yeah. You're right. What are you doing, baby? Like, the way he used to lay behind me. Yeah. On that chair we had. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like... Yeah.
[00:14:54] Oh, my gosh. Darby does that, too. Can you get your ass out of my face? Come on. Like, he used to just lay behind me. What the fuck? Why do you have to lay on my shit? Don't let her eat that. Why? She's a poop. Why do I always have to... You're a fur. You and Darby. Now, Nala. Now, we got Nala in the mix. Yeah. All over my shit and in my shit and getting fur everywhere. Cutest little fur bowl ever, though.
[00:15:24] She's cute. But, yeah, it is. Not our cat. No. It's a gentleman suitor. No. Just Michael. It's Michael's cat. Yes. And I don't know how much longer, because she's getting on his nerves sometimes. And then he's like, oh, I damn you. Because she gets on her feet. She hasn't learned yet. Yeah. And with him having the foot surgery... Yeah. You know, it's kind of hard for him. You know? She don't know. Yeah. And she'll zigzag.
[00:15:54] And she does it to me, and I'll be like, damn it, Nala. But, you know, it's like, well, let's just keep going. But then you got Darby. Yeah. Up her ass, because Darby is absolutely in love with this cat. It's just terrible. But, yes, you're right. There's a different connection, because I have a way different connection to Darby than I did with Ahsoka. Right. Yeah. I love Darby to death, but Ahsoka was, you know, I claim the love of my life.
[00:16:23] Corny, I know, but, you know, shut up. That's my thing. One thing, her thing is, too, it's like, the fact that we have a connection, because of, you know, how she was treated. Right. Yes. You know, so. But it took her a while to get over that. Yeah. I'm just glad she finally did. So am I. I don't like grudges. Let them go, people. But now she's...
[00:16:54] Kitty. I said people, but I'm telling her. Yeah. Let go. But now she's, you know, she's definitely my cat. Yes. She is. When you leave, she sits at the door. Or the window. I told you this right, but I'll tell her the fuck. Yeah. I came home, I went out to go get a bite to eat. I came home, and she's up in the kitchen, or not the kitchen, the bathroom window, which faces the backyard where I park.
[00:17:22] And I'm walking down, and I'm looking up, I can see her, and I'm looking up, and I wave at her. And all of a sudden, she notices me, and her ears, like, perked up. And then she turned around and ran, and when I came to the door, there she was. Like, you know. Yeah. She's like, ooh, my human's home. Yeah. Let's go greet him. My boy's home. By the time, I'm going to just ask him, where the fuck's he been? Yeah. That was longer than to the garbage and back, I know. Yeah. I've been to the garbage and back.
[00:17:52] I've been to the garbage and back. I've been to the garbage and back. But she doesn't leave. No. The furthest I caught her doesn't exist anymore, but the tree by where the garbage canes are. She was climbing up it. That's the furthest I ever had to go for her.
[00:18:21] There was that one time she gave us a very hard time. The two of us had to work together to corner her, and it was in the neighbor's yard. Brittany? No, you and me. I don't remember that. Are you sure it was me? Yeah, I'm positive because she got out. I think it was a side door. Somebody came to the side door or something was happening to the side door. And I opened the side door and she bolted. Oh. Weird. She just wasn't out. She was like, I'm not having any of it today. Yeah.
[00:18:51] And she went underneath the fence. Yeah. It was a whole hullabaloo to catch her. I don't remember how you got her back, though. I can't remember. I don't know. The side door is a terrible thing. Right. Because she... Here you can kind of control it. There you can't. No. And she can come at you two or three different ways and you can't stop it. There's no stopping it. Yeah. That's a death trap anyways. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:19:23] First thing I do when I look at being where she at, because she knows. She fucking senses when you're going toward that door. She does. She can be upstairs taking a goddamn siesta and you are just reaching for the doorknob and she's right there. Yeah. And you're like, god damn. And it's, you know, what are you going to do one day when she don't come back? That's the problem. No. I don't know. That'll be the saddest day of my life. I don't think she'll go there for her.
[00:19:52] She hasn't yet. No. She has a grudge against those birds out there. That's what she's aiming for. Well, here's the thing. Like, we had that incident in the wintertime where you and Brittany, it was right before Christmas, you and Brittany went Christmas shopping. I was watching the kids that day. Oh, yeah. And the door wasn't closed properly because she came in the living room and she's like, wet. I'm like, why are you wet? I came in here and I'm like, why is that door open? And you can see the footprints outside.
[00:20:22] And I'm like, yeah, she went on a little adventure. Yeah. A little walkabout. Yeah. And I forget how long you said that was. I don't know how long it was. That's the problem. I don't know how long she was out. Yeah. But she was out for a while, apparently. I mean, she came in and she's like, jumped, jumped to the living room and she's like sitting over the heating vent. Oh, okay. You know, like, ooh, it's chilly. Yeah, there's some snow on me. Wow. Yeah.
[00:20:52] Huh. I don't know. I still wouldn't trust him. No, I don't either. It's like when I'm at Michael's, his back screen, he has screen doors. Lucky him. And his back door, when it's open, I'll crack it a little bit and Darby will put his nose there. Yeah. Yeah. And he's this, this, he's to the point where he wants his whole head out. But there's a few times because there's woods right behind. There's immediate woods right behind his back. Sorry. I almost hit you. I'm sorry. That's right.
[00:21:24] Yeah. Um, and he'll like be looking, like something will catch his attention and then I'm like, doors get shut. Yeah. Cause I don't, I don't know what he would do. He has never got out. Yeah. Not even here. No. Yeah. I, I don't, and he lives on a very, very busy road with very fast cars. Yeah. There's, I think the speed limit on that street is 40. Yeah. Yeah. So I, I don't know. I don't know what he would do. I think he would get scared and run.
[00:21:55] Darby has serious stranger danger. Yeah. She don't. No, she'll. She's stranger. Come here. Let me sniff you. Cause if you don't smell good, you're out. Yeah. I will ensure you of that. Get my ninja. She rubbed CC today. What? She gave CC a rub. Really? Yeah. Did CC see it coming? No. That's why it happened.
[00:22:20] CC was, I got, cause I wasn't, I went in the living room to say hello and CC was doing something at the, uh, the old entertainment center there that's sitting there and Sabine walked past her and like rubbed the back of her legs. Oh my. Like she does. Yeah. Yeah. And CC was like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[00:22:43] Cause the thing you have to understand is both these kids are afraid of Sabine because Sabine has taught them boundaries. Yes. You know, the hard way. Yeah, the hard way. The hard way. I hate Luna getting the blunt of it. Yeah. Yeah. So CC, the oldest child loves Sabine, thinks she's so cute, but lives in complete and total fear of the cat. Yeah.
[00:23:13] And does not want to be around her. No. Does not, you know, if CC, if Sabine's within like a few feet of her, she's like, ah, you know. So for Sabine to walk past her and give her the, cause this is what Sabine does. Like she, she like walks past your legs and rubs your legs. Like kind of like to let you, let you know, Hey, I'm here. Yeah. Like a cat usually does. Yeah. Well, not all cats. Like she does it more than any cat I've ever had. Like I've had cats that do that.
[00:23:43] You haven't been around adult Darby that much. Yeah. But I mean like she does it a whole lot more than any cat, cause like she's like, you know, Hey, here I am. Right. Say hello to me. Yeah. That's okay. I like when they do that. Yeah. Acknowledge me. Exactly. And that's why I like it. They're acknowledging me too. Yeah. So for Sabine to do that is like, you know, Hey, I like you. Hmm. But CC was just like, woo. You know. Like relax. It's okay.
[00:24:11] She hasn't gotten over the fact of all the, you know, boundaries that has been instilled in her. Yeah. Look at her. She's like, stop talking about me. Yeah. So embarrassed. So I have a, I have a question for you. A question? A question. Yes. I may have a answer. Okay. Something that fascinates me is you subscribe to SiriusXL. Yes.
[00:24:41] In your vehicle. Yes. And my, my car is obviously capable of doing it, but I have chosen not to subscribe because I, I'm, I'm, I subscribe to Apple music. I'd much rather listen to the music I've curated. I still have Spotify. I can say you still have Spotify. I'm just saying that like in the car, what is it you like about having SiriusXM?
[00:25:11] Oh. Oh. Because like, to me, like this, this is a dinosaur that's, it's should be on the verge of death. Yeah. And it's not because they have all these contracts with these car companies and you get the, like the three month free trial when you buy a new car and it's just automatic, you know, like the software is built into it. But like oddly, like I, I look at SiriusXM and to me it's a, a dinosaur that needs, that should be on the brink of death.
[00:25:42] But yet here you are subscribing to it. I'm wondering like what, what made you choose to go that route as compared to just thinking with Spotify and listening to like your playlist on, on over Bluetooth? That's a really good question because there's actually not just one answer. And FYI, I didn't even know SiriusXM still existed until that car, by the way. Okay.
[00:26:11] I, I honestly did not know. I thought it was gone. Yeah. Seriously. Yeah. I was actually surprised. Um, several factors in the mean, cause after the free trial, it was like a couple months decision. Um, I like the, um, the channels that I have programmed in. I like them. I like the music they play. And I also like the, like odd music they play that you either forgotten about or.
[00:26:40] It was like, Whoa, I didn't know they had this. Right. You know, like when you listen to like classic rewind or eighties, nineties, stuff like that. And I also like, I know there's a lot more, but I like the channels that are dedicated to certain bands. It's the only ones I have program right now is Pearl Jam and YouTube. Right. Okay. I really liked those channels because they also taught, like they come on and taught. Like Mike McCready is on there all the time. Right. And he's always telling you stories about how they came up with this, how they came up with that.
[00:27:09] I love that. I love hearing that. Cause I still like Pearl Jam. Yeah. And other stuff like that. And they also have stuff that they play. Like they'll play Temple the Dog. You know what I mean? Like, and, and I think the early mornings they play whatever. I don't think they're actually just Pearl Jam radio at that point. I think all of them do that actually. Don't they? There's like a point in time where there's like just regular music on there. Well, I, I, like if, if it's a specific, like if it's a, a band specific channel, I
[00:27:37] think not only do they play like their music, the music they listen to. Right. Right. So you can be listening to like YouTube radio and you'll hear music that like the edge will come on and be like, you know, I discovered this band in 1982. Right. And they influenced me to write this. Yeah. Like, so you'll get stuff like that. Yeah. But I don't think they, I don't think they ever divert from like the format though. Right.
[00:28:05] Which is the point of like, it is the point of like those channels is this is the format of this specific channel and it never diverts from it. Right. This is an eighties channel. This is a nineties channel. This is a heavy metal channel. This is, you know, um, swing. This is, you know. Okay. But in, I don't know though, because I actually have screenshots of pictures. It was like, look, while I was driving in case I forgot.
[00:28:32] And here I am remembering because you said, I'm sorry, I'm just remembering. I took pictures of a few times I'm in there and I'm listening to like the hair bands and there was a Prince song. Yeah. Why is Prince on hair metal? Right. I agree. Like, I mean, I, I, I, I'm sure they make mistakes. Yeah. Not saying Prince couldn't jam on that damn guitar. Yeah. I'm just saying hair metal. Right. Okay. So I don't know. So I have a few times that I was like, okay, that's weird. Other than being androgynous.
[00:29:02] Yeah. Or there'd be one where they actually would like on eighties, there was one they played and I have a picture of it somewhere in it. You know how they'll give you the year? Yeah. It said 91. Right. And I'm like, why is this on an eighties? Stuff like that. Right. So they do at times screw up or something. I don't know. But that's okay. I'm okay with that. I also like the variety. There is a huge variety of music on there. Right. That I, you know, am discovering.
[00:29:32] And also they offer a really good price for two years if you locked in. It's only three bucks a month for two years. So I'm like, I'll take that. Three bucks a month for two years for different, and don't get me wrong. I pull up my Spotify in that car all the time and listen to it when I want to listen to Billy Idol specific songs on my playlist. Right. Or shit. Like, you're not going to hear on the radio. Like, I don't know. It's hard for me because on the way home they played Hooker with a Penis by Toll.
[00:30:03] Right. And I was like, whoa. You know, and then stuff like that. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what I have not heard on there yet that I enjoy. I do not have any country. Obviously, yeah. Program. Then I don't have any talk radio. And I know they probably still have podcasts and talk radio and shit like that. But I have not ventured into any of that. It's strictly music for me. Right. Because when I'm in my car driving, I just want to hear music. I don't want to hear somebody talking in my ear. I don't. Right. Because that's distracting.
[00:30:32] It's not distracting, but it's just, I don't want to hear it. Right. I rather sing along the music. I'm more pleasant driving when I jam into my favorite horn dance too. You know? You get happy. But that's a few of the reasons, yes. Why? Why are you asking me this? I'm just curious because it's like that, it's that thing of like, like I said, like to me, like it's a dinosaur that should be dying. Well, I'm going to, the main influence was the price. Right.
[00:31:00] Because I said if they do come back and offer something, if it's five or more, I'm not doing it. Right. And they were like three and sold for two years. Right. Fuck it. No, I mean, it makes sense. Like, I mean, I understand it's just, it's that, I'm, I'm, I guess I'm a weirdo a little because I don't make playlists. Oh, I have a ton of playlists on Spotify.
[00:31:29] I don't like, I don't do. You listen to all albums. I do. Like you'll pick an artist like the Cars and you would just pick an album and you'll plow through the album, the fix. You'll just, which is great because I like doing that only with a certain artist. You do that with everybody. I do. Yeah. Cause I'll be in a car and I'll be like, do we have to listen to this one? Yeah. Usually you're like, no, but.
[00:31:55] But like, I also like, like, like some bands, like they'll, like at least on Apple, on Apple music, like they'll have a curated list. Like these are the essentials of this band. Okay. And I'll like, so it's like a greatest hits. Okay. And I'll listen to that sometimes. Now, sometimes like if you're listening to Sammy Hagar as an example, that essentials list
[00:32:23] will include Montross. It'll be Sammy Hagar solo and it'll be Van Halen. Okay. I don't want to hear Montross. I don't want to hear Van Halen. Right. I want to hear Sammy. So now I've got to look up like a Sammy Hagar greatest hits album or a specific album I want to listen to by Sammy Hagar. Right. It's funny. We were talking about a couple weeks ago, Elvis Costello. Who was? You and I.
[00:32:54] I'm trying to remember. I'm sorry. Because you were talking about watching The Detectives. Oh, yeah. I did it. It was his song. I had no idea. Right. I was, wow. But like I said, it's that odd thing of like they get and they have him broken up where it's like, okay, this is Elvis Costello and this is Elvis Costello and the Attractions. Oh, well, David Bowie and David Bowie and the Glass Spire. Right. Yeah. Yeah. No, I get that. Yeah. Yes. But it's like to me, like it's all just one thing. Right.
[00:33:23] But it's annoying because if I want to hear a certain song, I have to listen to Elvis Costello and the Attractions. Right. And if I want to hear another song, I have to listen to Elvis Costello. That's where playlists come in great. Right. I understand that. But there are some things. But that's why I also will listen to like a whole album. Like with Elvis Costello, I'll listen to this year's model and then I'll listen to that one album. I can't even get the name of it off the top of my head. But it's Elvis Costello and the Attractions. Right. Like, yo. But to me, it's like it's the same fucking thing. Yeah. You know.
[00:33:52] You know what makes me mad about playlists? If you have a playlist, like I have a playlist that has like thousands of songs on it because I play, I'll pick a certain point at work and what mood I'm in. Right. And I'll just play it on the Google and let it go. Right. And sometimes I want to interchange. I'm like, why don't they have something on there where you can like click on a song and drag it and change the location in that playlist you wanted? Because they want you to create another playlist. Yeah. That's the problem.
[00:34:20] And now I have like 100,000 fucking playlists because of that. Right. And it's terrible. You know how hard it is to delete a playlist? Nancy's angry playlist. Nancy's sad playlist. No. Nancy's just doesn't care playlist. Okay. First of all, let me. Nancy's driving playlist. I can prove to you I only have one playlist in there that says Nancy's playlist, by the way. And the rest are based off music. Right. But I mean, that's.
[00:34:47] Enigma's in one and, you know, 36 Mars in the other. Linkin Park has their whole entire playlist. They're not on any other playlist but their own because they have so much music. You know what I mean? So, no, there's only one Nancy's playlist. Right. Where. The only thing that annoys me. Weirdo. And it's the reason why I would think about subscribing to like Sirius is there are like songs that you miss because it's like a one hit wonder. Okay. Great.
[00:35:16] Like, I'm not looking to listen to Except. Except. I only want to hear Turn Up the Radio. It says who sings that? I never even heard that band. Who said Turn Up the Radio. That's not Except. I'm like, who the hell is Except? That's not Except. Except those balls to the wall. What? You get your balls to the wall.
[00:35:46] It was funny to hear you sing that. Sorry. It was open mic night tonight, so it's been interesting. Autograph. Autograph. Autograph. Yeah. Okay, so who's Except? I don't know who Except is. I never even heard of that. I want to see that that's the name of the band.
[00:36:17] Here's the best part. I didn't know this was a band name, Except. I thought this was ACVC. And when you hear it, you'll understand why. The guitar does not sound like that. No, the guitar does not sound like ACVC. No. That's not English. I hate that I know that.
[00:36:36] I've been smoking cigarettes for a very long time. So is Brian Johnson. So you've got like a higher type score. A little right now.
[00:37:09] Here you go. You're going to get to the chorus though. There you go. I like it. You got me done. Yeah. You got me right done. I've never heard this song.
[00:37:38] I don't know. That's dumbfounding to me. Is that the only song? That's basically like everything. They're going to say, please don't tell me there's more to that. I think there's a couple more. But that was like their big hit. Are you sure they were not like backing them up in vocals and that actually was the dude? Wait. Didn't ACVC have a couple singers that sounded exactly the same? Two. Yeah. The first one died. Okay. And then they found Brian Johnson who sounded the exact same somehow. He did. He absolutely did. Kind of like Journey.
[00:38:09] Yeah. Yeah. Two totally different looking men though. Two completely different nationalities. But they both did have long hair. They did. Well, yeah. But I mean like yeah. One longer than the other. Yeah. Yeah. Is that freaking weird how that happens? Yeah. But my point. So either man. Yeah. Autograph or accept. Yeah. I don't want to listen like they're. No. Like an album by them. I just want to hear that one. I don't want to ever hear accept again.
[00:38:39] Like I hope my phone was not listening to that. And start suggesting that. And be like no. I should have looked at my Spotify. No. No iPhone. No. Shut up. Oh, I would have. On my Google nonetheless. That's attached to my Spotify account. Every once in a while I will do that to you. What? I will like just like randomly search for a song. That's you? Yeah. I will randomly search for an odd song and play it on Spotify.
[00:39:08] Just so it gets added to your algorithm. I thought somebody was hacking into my account. No. That's me. You know how many times I have. Oh my God. I have freaked out over that a lot. I'm like who keeps doing this? Because the speakers. Yeah. Like every once in a great while I will just like you know. What's. Hey G. Let's play some accept. Yeah. Oh my God. If you ever do that. I swear it will hurt you. Let me play some Donnie Harris. I'll have to start changing passwords.
[00:39:40] And that sucks because even if I change my passwords. They just pick up the password so you can still do it. Changing the password ain't even going to help. I'll just get up in my room. Sell my home. With my Google Home. I know. I know. That was the worst thing I did when I ever give you that damn thing in your room. Let me. And then I upgraded you. Oh. So you can visually see what you're asking for. Hey G.
[00:40:05] Play Bad Street USA by Michael PSA's and the fabulous Freebirds. What the fuck? Oh my God. That one you pulled out of your ass. Who is that? No. I don't want to know. No. I know who they are. Never mind. You just remembered in your head who the Freebirds were? No. I don't know who they are. I was just telling you that because I don't want you looking them up. The Freebirds were a wrestling group. Okay. It was made up of three guys.
[00:40:33] Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, and Buddy Roberts. Why don't I remember them? Because they were mostly in Dallas. Like in the 80s. They would have blood feuds with the Vaughn Eriks. Oh. Okay. And then later on they went to the NWA. Oh. Vaughn Eriks. Yeah. Yeah. But. That name I recognize. Right. But at one point. And they used to come down to Freebird. Like that was like their entrance music was like. You know they played Freebird by Leonard Skinner.
[00:41:03] But then Michael Hayes thought he was a rock star. For real? For real. And he wrote and recorded a song. Like it. And this was like around the same time that like Vince had the WWF guys doing like the wrestling album. And like all that. Like you know. I'm a real American and all that jazz. Michael Hayes comes out with Bad Street USA.
[00:41:29] Which is one of the greatest bad songs ever made. Oh please don't play it. I will. Oh my goodness. I will. I will give you the visual. Oh this is a vest. I feel like I'm about to be offended. Oh you are.
[00:41:54] What the fuck is it?
[00:42:28] And himself. Michael Hayes. Oh my god. Is that a wig? No. Four times the size of everybody else on stage.
[00:42:59] Oh my god. That looks like a wig. A really bad woman's wig. Here's the best part. That actually hurts my eyes. So Michael Hayes. It doesn't offend me though. Michael Hayes is still in professional wrestling. He like works backstage at the WWF now. His hair. Like we made fun of like remember we made fun of like Edge because his hair looked like straw. Yes. Yeah. His is even worse.
[00:43:29] Oh my god. And he. Is it still that long? No. It's not that long. But it's like it just it looks like horrific. You can't get a picture of that. Oh let me see if I can. As long as it ain't cut like the flock of seagulls we're okay.
[00:44:09] Yeah. That's Michael Hayes today. Oh. Wow. Yeah. Wow. Still thinks he's on Bad Street USA though. I think I recognize him though there. Not that. Yeah. Not the young but the older. That's so sad to hear. Because like. Like because like the thing with like Michael Hayes was like he was a really good wrestler. Uh huh. You know.
[00:44:37] And the Freebirds were amazing. And like but like his whole thing his he had that like that strut like when he came out and he's like walking shaking his hair. That was what he did the entire time. Oh. Like he's walking to the ring. And the best part was because they were Southern. They were all Southern boys. This would not fly today by any sense. But like his robe he came down in this this big robe that when he held his hands up from but from the back it was a big rebel flag.
[00:45:07] Oh. You know he had the stars and bars like all in glitter and gold. Like it was amazing. Yeah. But like today like that shit would not fly at all. No. But like back then like you know he was like that was his version of like the Ric Flair strut. Right. Like you know he was like trying to intimidate Flair but with Southern boy style. Wow. Wow. Yeah. No wonder why they came out. He's a character. Oh he's a character all right. Oh he looks at him.
[00:45:38] You can just tell he's got that. Yeah. Ric Flair attitude. Like to this day he still like dresses like an asshole. I see the purple hat. Yeah. Like like I see like like you think like oh man like you know that guy's got to be in his 70s at this point. I'm sure he's mellowed and like they still like like backstage at Wrestlemania he's like in like bright pink and you know and you're like what the fuck is wrong with you Michael.
[00:46:07] Yeah. You're not walking out on stage to wrestle anymore. No. You don't need to glam it up that much. No. But anyway. Maybe he still likes to do the show. Who knows. I don't know. It makes him happy. And he's still getting paid to do it so fuck it do it. Yeah. I'm sure whatever coke problem he had back in the 80s and 90s he's still paying for it today. Oh shit. At one point he was the manager of the Hardy Boys. What? Maybe that's what you remember him from. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. He was he was the manager.
[00:46:35] Like when they first broke in because neither of them could talk they put them with Michael Hayes as their manager. And then for some reason he disappeared. Okay. But yeah like there was a short period of time where like they were they were managed by Michael P.S. Hayes. Oh. Maybe. I don't know. Yeah. That is a possibility because you know Hardy Boys all the way for me. Right.
[00:47:05] Yeah. So. Yeah. Getting back to the original topic here. We've gone off course with. What was it? Well talking about why you subscribed to SiriusXL. Oh the music. Yeah. The music. Yeah. I understand like sometimes I understand like I'm like you know yeah this makes sense like why she would do it because it's like radio they play odd music like you know stuff. They also play a lot of live on those individual channels. Yeah. So I get to hear a lot of live versions of Black. Right.
[00:47:35] So like there's a part of me that's like I get it and like I mean you know for the price you're paying like I get that too. But there's also a part of me that's like I guess like over the road truckers subscribe to that still because you can pick it up damn near anywhere. Right. And you know and. I have never had it go out on me no matter where I went. Right.
[00:48:01] So I feel like there is probably like people who do still subscribe to it for a lot of reasons. Like you know if you're trying to rely on like 5G for like streaming. Like you know you could reach areas where you don't have service for a extended period where this is still getting it. Right. As long as you can see the sky. Right. You can get the signal. Right.
[00:48:28] But it just it always surprises me that it's still around. Right. Like how is there that many subscribers that they're still going and paying all these people? Because I'm sure they still have to pay YouTube, Pearl Jam and whoever else. I don't know the Grateful Dead. Whoever else's channels they have. Right. Fish I think has one. Yeah. Like Eminem. I think Eminem has one. They could be paying these people. Like out of the goodness of their heart letting them continue. No.
[00:48:58] I'm sure they're paying people. So how do they have that many subscribers to make that much money and sponsors to make that much to pay all these fucking famous people? Because they're on there a lot talking. Yeah. A lot. And the 80s has the VJs from MTV on there. They got what? Mark Goodman and the girl that has the raspy voice. What's her name? Nina Blackwood. Nina Blackwood. Yeah. They are all on there. Yeah. You can't tell me they're cheap. Plus I mean they still pay Howard Stern. I don't know nothing about that. I don't think you're in the talk radio.
[00:49:28] I understand that. But I'm just saying like I mean I know he has a hefty contract. I know they have other like talk. Yeah. So even if you have the subscribers though how many people are paying you $3 a month for two years? You ain't making dick off me. You know what I mean? So what are you fucking charging everybody else? Right. But the other side of that is like it is. It's weird. Like I don't know. Like I don't know their business model. I don't know how.
[00:49:58] I mean it's the same thing with like Netflix. Like you sit there and you look at Netflix and you're like you know I don't care how many fucking subscribers you have. How are you spending this much money on your product? Yes. You know like billions of dollars you have to WWE to be for Raw. And internationally they have everything. Yeah. You know so it's like that odd thing of like. Yeah. How did you. Yeah. How is all this money being generated? And it's the same thing like with like that.
[00:50:28] Like it's like an odd thing of like I don't see where you're getting your money from to survive. Right. And it feels like in the age of streaming this should be a dying. Like much like terrestrial radio is dying. Right. Like I feel like this should be dying right along with it. Yes. Because it's not that far off from being terrestrial radio. No. But. And like. And those music channels are commercial free. Whoever I kicked I'm sorry. Was it you Beanie? Beanie.
[00:50:58] Yeah. Like those commercial. Those music channels are commercial free. So. I wouldn't say commercial free. They still have their jabs where they have to sit there and talk about shit before they play music. Right. But when I say commercial free I mean like you're not getting like. And you know like top dog law. Oh no. Like they're not getting those. No. No. I don't hear none of that. No.
[00:51:22] I know a lot of the talk channels have commercials. No. No. Some of them like. Like they have ESPN radio. But I don't know how much. I don't know what if anything they get from those commercials. Right. Because I know ESPN is selling the commercial time. Not Sirius. Oh. Because like Sirius is like leasing the feed from ESPN. Yeah. To have it on there. Right. You know.
[00:51:50] It's the same thing with like baseball games. Like you can listen to like a Pirates game on Sirius XM. Mm-hmm. So you're getting the feed from Major League Baseball. The Pirates. If you're listening to like the Pittsburgh Pirates feed. They're the ones that have sold the advertising time. Right. Not Sirius XM. So you know you're hearing commercials between innings and stuff. You're not like how much is Sirius getting off of that. Yeah. It's like. It's stuff like that that like you know like how are you getting.
[00:52:19] Like I don't. How they create revenue streams I don't know. Because like the music channels have none. Like you know. It'd be funny if one day all of a sudden they just. You hear a top dog block commercial. If you're. That would be funny. I would be laughing my ass off. Hey when you listen back to this. I want you to listen to how much venom came out of your mouth when you said the pirates. No. Just pay attention to that. I don't. I think it's like. It's not intentional. It's just.
[00:52:49] Because you were like. The pirates. The pirates. Fuck. Fuck. Yeah. But no. I understand what you're saying. But no. That doesn't factor in anything. Yeah. The reason why. It's not that bad to have a run either. Because. Well. In my core. I can program. What is it? 12 stations. And you got the button right on your. All you're going to do. You're going to find something to listen to in 12 stations. Of programming of your favorite stations. Right. Not just random. Yeah.
[00:53:19] These are 12 of. And I had a hard time nearing it down to 12. Yeah. You know. I mean. It makes sense from a certain standpoint. It's just. I'm curious what your logic was behind it. As compared to just listening to playlists. And stuff like that. Like. Because. Our. Our. Our cell phone plan. We have unlimited.
[00:53:49] Right. You know. Unlimited cellular wireless. Right. Cellular internet. Right. That's something I. I. I pay for. And. It's that thing of like. So. Like. Unlike a lot of people who are like. You know. I got to watch my data. We don't. Yeah. Like. Stream all you want. Yeah. I've never. Yeah. I've never had you say. Do that. Right. So. It's that odd thing of like. You know. Because we have that package. Because we pay for that. Like. Why. Why would you. Think you need. This.
[00:54:21] But. I. There's a point. Like. I can see where. A little bit. Where it makes sense. Yeah. It's kind of like that question of like. Who the fuck is keeping long drawn silvers in business? Yes. Yes. I need somebody to explain that to me. And. And also. Applebee's. Oh. I. Their food has gone downhill so fast. I don't even go there anymore. You know. I was an avid Applebee's.
[00:54:51] Apple beer. I don't think it's a word. You were a fan of their cheap drinks. No. I loved their. Their. That Asian plate they had. That they no longer have. There was a burger that I liked. That they took away. And. A certain wrap. But. The only thing I would go there for. Is there appetizers now. And. Yeah. They're cheap. They don't have them anymore. I've never been a huge Applebee's. Like. Like. To me. It's.
[00:55:20] Like a half a step up from like a Denny's. Mm-hmm. Like. I've never been like. Ooh. Applebee's. Yeah. Fancy. You know. Oh no. I never thought that. No. I just. Enjoyed their food. But. I never thought their food was like. Any more than a half step up from. No. Like Denny's. Not at all. No.
[00:56:07] Any times in the last few years. I've. Been there in a while. Exactly. It's the same thing with Buffalo Wild Wings. That place used to be phenomenal. Their wings suck anymore. They suck. They don't know why. Okay. And I think it's because. Everything that you got. With. It's just. They changed everything. It just sucks. But I mean. If you're going to change it to the good. Great. I'll go with that. I'll pay for that. But you didn't. You went downhill.
[00:56:39] I think you're just. A food snob. Mm. No. Yeah. No. Wait. Why were we talking about this? I don't know. I was. I mean. I don't know. I don't know. Good lord. I can't remember. Applebee's came up for a reason. Yeah. Anyway. Yeah. My other question. I don't.
[00:57:09] I don't expect you to have an answer to this. But it was like. Like I. I've gotten into this thing where I got. I watched like. These short videos on like YouTube and. And. And Facebook. Facebook. Mm. And. It's always like. You know. Some Gen X. You're talking about how great Gen X is. Or. You know. Um. Cars. Like I. I. I watch a lot of like. Uh. The Grand Tour.
[00:57:39] The old. Top Gear. From uh. The BBC on. On there. But. Every once in a while. I'll get something more like. It's like. Welcome to my tiny home. Which. Okay. Yeah. Cool. Whatever. But then I get a lot of like. These people who like. Live in their cars. Or. Like. They like. You know. They just drive around in an RV. Randomly. And it's like. How.
[00:58:12] How the fuck can you afford to do this? I can see the. Driving around in an RV. But I can't see living out of your car. Oh. Living out of your car has become a thing. It has become a big thing. Like. There's one guy. I got. He comes up on my thing all the time. Now he. Now he. He says. I'm living in my car right now. Because I'm trying to save up for a tiny home. And he needs $60,000. Oh my God. I'm like. Well that's probably just buy us a house. That doesn't buy you the land to put it on. Yeah. Like.
[00:58:42] Yeah. But. But. And he shows. Like. This is my day. And it's like. You know. He spends like. All day. Like. Doing like. You know. Uber Eats and shit. Like. Delivering. So like. I understand like. How he's like. Trying to make money. And he's like. You know. And he gives you a breakdown. Like. At the end of the day. He's like. Okay. I made this much money. Doing. You know. Food deliveries. I made this much money off of YouTube. I made this much money off. Like. He gives you a breakdown. So like. At the end of it. He's like. So this is how much money I made today.
[00:59:11] That I put towards my tiny home. How much did he make in a day? I can't remember off the top of my head. Give me a rough figure. Like. Around 900 bucks a day. 100 bucks? Nine. Really? Yeah. Like 900 bucks a day. Wow. Yeah. And he lives out of his car. And he lives out of his car. How does he bathe? And do all that? Well. He has a gym membership. So he goes to the gym. Oh. Gets a shower. You know. He like. He like. Like. Show him. Like. Like. Get up. Like. In the morning. He's got like a little. Electric burner stove. It'll like.
[00:59:41] You know. Like have some ramen for breakfast. And. Oh my god. Yeah. I can never do that. Like. But the dude. That dude is basically homeless. And he's showing you how he's saving up money. For his dream. Yeah. But isn't it like. Illegal to sleep in your car. In the street? Yes. I mean. Where the fuck does he park and sleep? I. I know there are some. Walmarts. That will allow you to. Camp. Um. But you like.
[01:00:11] It's just for one night. Right. Like you can't like. Live there. Live there. Um. Like I mean. There's that one guy I watch YouTube videos of. Like he's stealth camping. Like you know. Camping with Steve. He's like some Canadian dude who like. His whole gimmick is. Like he'll like. Sleep in like a roundabout at the mall. Like in like the. Like he'll like sneak in. Sneak into the weeds. And he'll sleep there overnight. Oh. Yeah. Like.
[01:00:42] Like you know. Or like uh. Behind a uh. A billboard sign. Or. Oh. Like you know. Like. There's a long highway. The Queens Highway 1. And uh. I'm going to sleep behind this billboard. And see if I don't get caught. You know. Or like. So he does odd stuff like that. How often has he been caught? None that I've ever seen. Well he is pretty stealthy. He is very stealthy. Um. But. Like so there's stuff like that. But like. Like.
[01:01:12] I'm just. What. Like. You also have these people. Like they'll have like a van. And like. It's like. You know. They've decked it out. And like they spend their lives. Like well. You know. I'm driving from here to here. And I'm going to stop here today. Because I hear there's a wonderful view of. This vista. Or you know. Or some bullshit. I'm like. What the fuck are you doing to get paid? Yeah. Like. Like where did you get the money to do this? Yeah. Like. First off.
[01:01:42] You had to have spent a ton of money to get this van. All decked out. Because it's got like a living space. And they've got like two fucking dogs in there with them. Wow. Like yeah. I mean. There's a whole. I've seen. Like. I remember like back in the day. Like people had vans like that. Yeah. They had like a bed. And they had a little kitchenette. And they also had like buses. Yeah. They did a lot of bus renovation. Right. But like. Like. There was a day. Like people did it in vans a lot. Like. Yeah. You know. If this van's a rock. And don't come and knock. Yeah. That type of bullshit.
[01:02:12] You know. I watched that 70 show. I know. Yeah. Yeah. But. So like. I mean. And these are like. You know. Like upscale versions of what that even was. Right. But like. It's that thing of like. I'm watching these people. And it's like. How. How do you have enough money to drive? Mm-hmm. Like. Plus you've got two fucking dogs. Like. You know. It's like. You know. Yeah. We were at this campground. And I let. You know. I'm letting the dogs out. And you know. Like.
[01:02:41] What the fuck are you. Like. Yeah. And like. They never like talk about like. You know. It's always like. There's the amazing adventures they're on. I'm like. Like. Like. Who is recording all this then? Yeah. Usually them. Like. They'll have like. You know. Usually these are people who are like. By themselves. Or maybe they have their. Like. You know. I'm with my significant other. You know. Like. Maybe they're working the camera. But a lot of times it's like. You know. One person living in like. A van. Down by the river.
[01:03:13] And. You know. They'll have like. You know. Their GoPro set up on a tripod. Oh. Showing their day. And this is what I have to do. And this is how I cook my dinner. And you know. And all this. You know. Here's the hike. We mean. The dogs went on today. And I'm like. How. How is this possible? Yeah. I don't know. Like. How did you beat the nine to five? I don't know. You gotta wonder where. Yeah.
[01:03:42] Where did the money come from? You gotta. You can't go without gas. And gas costs money. Right. I know. Yeah. We all know. You know. Yeah. Like. Everybody knows. And it's always that thing of. It's just that. To me. It's like that odd thing of like. And I'm not trying. I'm not poo pooing. Like. Let me make. Let me get this clear. I'm not. Suggesting it. What they're doing is wrong. At any. I don't know. No. No. My curiosity is more along the lines of.
[01:04:13] How. How can you afford to do this? What. What. Where does your stream of money come from? At least that one guy who's like basically homeless. Saving up for a home someday. He's giving me a breakdown every day. Yeah. That he posts a video of like. This was my expenses. This is how much I made. Off of this. This. This. And this. And so after all my expenses. This is how much money I have left. That I'm putting towards. My tiny home. You know. And.
[01:04:42] So like that. I can appreciate. And I can under. Okay. I can see where. You know. Plus. He's also showing. That motherfucker's on the hustle. Yeah. Like he. Yeah. He is. He is working that. That Uber Eats. Yeah. To make them. Because after all of his expenses. And still have 900. Yeah. Right. That's pretty good. Because I mean. He is like. He gets up at like 7 in the morning. He's going to like 9 at night. Oh wow. You know. Like he is. He's hustling. Yeah. So. Like him. I salute you sir.
[01:05:12] But. But like the other people. Like I'm just like watching. I'm just like. How the fuck are you pulling this off? Yeah. Like. Where. Where. Do you have like a trust fund? Do you have. Yeah. Like. What has enabled you. To be able to do this. Like even at a young. Not even so much at a young age. At any age. What money did you inherit? Right. Like. Or make. You might have made the money. Like I make the joke all the time. But it's the truth. Like you know. I'm never going to retire.
[01:05:42] Like whoever my employer is on the day I die. They're going to be showing up like. Well he's a no call no show. So we're firing him. Yep. Like that's going to be what happens to me. Yeah. Like you know. It's not going to be like. Oh we're sorry for your loss. It's going to be like. Yeah. He's fired. Yeah. Like we just came to make sure he was dead. Yeah. Yeah. Make sure we weren't going to get any problems tomorrow. Yeah. You know. Whoever inherits his life insurance is canceled. We're sorry. He's a no call no show. Yeah. He forced our hands.
[01:06:12] Yeah. Like that's how it's going to like be for me. Like I'm not going to see a retirement at any time of my life. But meanwhile these motherfuckers are out. Yeah. Like I don't want to say like they're not leading the life I want to lead. Maybe they did it at a young age. Who knows. But like I guess that's the thing. Like it's like is there that much money. Like if you can get enough followers on like YouTube and Instagram and you know. Yeah.
[01:06:42] Like that you can live that way. Like is that. I'm guessing yes. I mean there's a lot of people like. What was it I was watching. I can't remember what TV show I was watching. But it was all influencers. Yeah. And these people literally made money doing stupid shit online. And I'm like. Could you imagine if that was around at our age. We'd be billionaires by now.
[01:07:11] But it's like. Like I watch like. Okay. I watch a guy Freddie Tavarish. To and. He's a car guy. And. Like I understand like. I mean he. He makes his living off of YouTube. Mm-hmm. And. So he. Like it's a. It's a gamble. Like every time he posts a video. On whether or not it's going to make. How much money it's going to make. Right. The same with like. Who's garage. Like.
[01:07:41] But I can also say. Well at least with Who's. Like he has. He has backups. To like. He's a co-owner of like a friend. Like some franchise in Kansas. And. And Oklahoma. Of like these like. Custard shops or some shit. Mm-hmm. And. But like Tavarish is like. You know. All my money comes from YouTube. And so like. If. If you. If you buy a $500,000 car. And you take out a loan on that car.
[01:08:10] Your YouTube videos have to make up enough money. For you to afford the payments. Yeah. For that $500,000 car. Right. And that's not including. What you're putting into that $500,000 car. To rebuild it. Right. You know. Because that's what he did. He bought a. That flooded P1. McLaren P1. Mm-hmm. And he's rebuilding it. So he paid $500,000. Just to get the fucking car. Wow. That did not work. Oh wow. And he's completely rebuilding it. So.
[01:08:38] How much money is he spending. On top of the $500,000. To rebuild that car. From scratch essentially. Mm-hmm. And like the people he's working with. Like I'm sure. Maybe he's getting like some sort of discount. Like the engine. The engine got rebuilt by this company called Cannonball Engines. In Chicago. I'm sure maybe they gave him a discount of some type. Mm-hmm. Because like. He's. Every time he mentions the engine. It's you know. That engine's from Cannonball. You know. Oh. Like.
[01:09:09] Every fucking time. Oh. You know. So like I'm sure like they're giving him some sort of discount. Because he's putting a link to them. And you know. All sorts of advertising. Advertising. Yeah. But still. That's probably still. You know. A $20,000 engine. Yeah. You know. Right. That wasn't cheap. You know. So. You add that to the $500,000. The body kit that they've had to build for that car. Like everything. Everything is bespoke to this car. So like.
[01:09:39] None of you paying an extrobitant amount. Just to pay off. The car itself. That you purchased for $500,000. But you're probably adding another few hundred thousand. In cost for the rebuild. Right. Right. Like. How well are you doing on YouTube. Right. That you can afford that. Yeah. You have to be doing really well I guess. You have to. I don't know nothing about that. No. Neither do I. But like. I can at least say like. Well if. If.
[01:10:07] If shit went sour for that guy. He could probably still at least make a living as a mechanic. Right. You know. A damn good one. Right. You know. But. Like these people that I see like. Out. Like you know. Here's day 26. Of life in my van. It's like. How? Yeah. I before. I could probably be like. Four days in my car. And then I'd be out of money. Yeah.
[01:10:36] Because I would be a baby the first night. Go run a hotel room. Well I mean like. It looks comfortable at least. Yeah. Like. I will say this much like. The dude who lives in his car. Has it set up. Like. Like. It's not the best. He. He's not living in the most ideal situation. But like. It. He. He shows it. Like he's not hiding anything. Like this. This is how I sleep. You know. I have this cot that I laid in my. Across.
[01:11:06] You know. I fold the seats down. And you know. I sleep. You know. This is how I sleep. And you know. And it's like. You know. Dude. You know. There's got to be a better way for you. Well. A tiny hill will seem huge to him. Yeah. Oh. Monstrous to him. I'm sure. But. But like I said. Like these people. Like these vans. It's like. The conversion van. Like the van itself. With everything you put into it. To like. Make it livable. Had to have been like. A hundred thousand dollars.
[01:11:36] Right. Like. Like. Because the van is probably. Fifty. Sixty thousand dollars. And you put like another forty into it. Just to make it like. Yeah. Amazing. Right. And then now you're driving around. And the. The country. And. Mm-hmm. It's like. I don't understand how this works. Yeah. I don't either. Yeah. We're doing something wrong. We are. Because even. If I made that much money. I would. I would probably. Travel a little bit. Then be like. Oh my god.
[01:12:07] But you're committing. Like. That's the problem. I know. These people are pot committed. Yeah. They have no home. Right. Like they may have a P.O. box. Oh. Like you know. I've got to go back. Go back home to get my mail. Because. It's been a month. You know. Oh. You know. That home is a P.O. box. And you know. Somewhere. And then it's like right. They're not going home to a house. They're going. Just wherever my P.O. box is. You know. There's a lot of companies. That won't deliver the P.O. boxes.
[01:12:37] Mm-hmm. That is true. Yes. This is my odd thing I noticed. It's something I noticed. I was like. I don't know. But what was your question? My question is how do you do it? Oh. I thought you made a question about the videos in general. Not that. Just how do you do it? Yeah. Like I'm watching these videos. And I'm like.
[01:13:07] How did you pull this off? Well. You were right about one thing. I probably wouldn't have an answer to that. No. Because. You're asking somebody that has. Gets up and works a fucking job every day. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. Like I don't know how you pull this off. Because it's. It's fascinating to me. Like. I don't want to live that lifestyle. No. Of like being in my van. Yeah. No. But if I could like.
[01:13:37] Not have to work. Like. If you're telling me work is. Hey Sean. You need to film like. Every day. And like. Edit it down to like a. A two minute video. And. We'll give you like a thousand dollars a day. Fuck. I'd do it. Fuck yeah. And I don't like to see myself on video or camera. Yeah. Yeah. For a thousand a day I'd do it. Yeah. This is me.
[01:14:07] What do you want me to do? Except take off my clothes. That's it. This is. This is me. Waking up in the morning. I'm going to turn off the video now. Because I'm going to. Watch some pornography. That's how I like to wake up. Oh my god. You know. Oh my god. And then. Like. I don't know. Like. I mean. Wait. Didn't they make a movie about that? With Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. Ed TV or something. Yeah. They were filming him all day. Yeah.
[01:14:37] Except he didn't have control. But he was being filmed all day. Right. Yeah. But yeah. I mean. If you could tell me. Yeah. Yeah. If you could. If you could like do that. If you could then edit it down to like a two minute clip. Thousand bucks a day. Yeah. I could do that. I could do that. Yeah. Yeah. I'll figure it out. That would be boring as fuck. And I'm not quite sure why people will watch. But here you go. Yeah. Oh I'd find something. Well that would become the thing. It would be like. Okay. What can I do today?
[01:15:09] And that's what the thing would probably end up like. After like a couple of weeks it would drive you nuts. Because it would be like. What can I do today to make it interesting? Right. Like. Because it can only be so much of. I woke up today and. You know. Played Madden. On my PlayStation 3. Actually. I'm upgrading to an Xbox One. Yes. We'll get into that in a second. But. Okay. I played some Madden.
[01:15:39] Here's me watching an old movie that I've watched a thousand times. But I still love. And. And. Here's a cat. Isn't she cute? Yeah. Yeah. Like. Here's my peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Yeah. Like it would literally be like. I guess because I'd have the time. Like. I'm going to go to Whitewood Park today. Yeah. You know where I'm. Oh. Let's. Let's go. Let's go look at the ducks here. Yeah. That's the thing. If you weren't tied to a job. You'd find more interesting things to do.
[01:16:09] Maybe. Yeah. Since we're tied to jobs. We're like. Fuck that. I want to rest whenever I have a day on. Yeah. Yeah. And be happy if you get half a day to rest. Oh my neck. I'm sorry. Mmm. That hurt. Here's the little red caboose. I'm getting some chili cheese dogs. Yeah. You know. Oh. Somebody talked about going. Christine. She said she went there. Nah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was like. Son of a bitch. So good.
[01:16:39] Well last time we went I tried their burgers and not bad. Yeah. They've reduced. Like their limit. Their menu is like basically like hot dogs. Like they. They. They. They. I don't know why. Because they were so fucking busy. But. Yeah. I guess. They. They tried. It's that thing like they're trying. I guess the people who own it are trying to keep it open. But like. They've reached a point of like. It's too much work. So we're trying to simplify this as much as possible.
[01:17:09] Mm-hmm. But it's like this little. Like. It's a traditional thing that like. Probably nobody wants to operate. Yeah. With them. Yeah. Because all it is is girls in there. It's got to be hot as fuck in there. Yeah. Yeah. No. Thank you. And then all them people crowding in right there. And they don't fucking move. No. Mm-mm. So anyway. Before we wrap up. Um. I did. Like I said. My dad gave me an Xbox One.
[01:17:39] Um. Now. I don't know anything about Xbox. Like I had a 360. Before I had the PlayStation 3. Um. He gave me. Uh. Fallout 4. Game of the year version. So I'm. Once I connect it. I'm going to. That's probably going to be the first game I play. It's going to be Fallout. So. Mm-hmm. That's.
[01:18:08] A few hundred hours. Right. Right. Um. Obviously at some point. I'm going to have a Madden game. I'm just curious. Like what game. What is a. A must play game. On. The Xbox One. That I. That is like. I have to have. I'm curious. I have people. Kind of tell me. Like what. What. Just one game. Don't give me a list. Don't. Go play. Go play. Go play. What's one game.
[01:18:38] I have to play. I mean. I do play on playing. Um. I saw. Oh. I can't get the name of it now. Um. Andromeda. Is on there. I can't get the name of what the title of the game is. But that's. The one with Commander Shepard. That I played. That you love the music too. Mass Effect. Mass Effect. Yeah. Mass Effect Andromeda. That's on there.
[01:19:07] I plan on getting that. But like. I'm just curious. Like what. What are. What is a must have. For the Xbox One. One. Now keep in mind. I cannot play. First person shooters. Me either. So if you're. If you're offering up a first person shooter. I can't do it. But let me know. Send me a tweet. Send me an email. Tweet. Tweet. What. What. Xbox One game. I should. I should try to play.
[01:19:39] That's a good idea. Ask your listeners. See what they say. Yeah. I'm curious what they come up with. Because I'm not really an Xboxer. No. Neither am I. Like I've never. Like I had the. I had the. I had the 360. I think I bought the 360. Just because it was cheaper than the PlayStation 3 at the time. And then. When I got my current job. And I got my current position. A guy. He's like. Hey I got a PlayStation 3 for sale. 50 bucks. I'm like. Sold. Right. You know. And.
[01:20:09] I played plenty on that too. Like I played plenty on the place. On the Xbox 360. I played plenty on the PlayStation 3. Mm-hmm. Um. My. You know. My dad's like. Yeah. This is free. I'm like. Oh. Okay. Yeah. Sure. I'll take it. Yeah. And. I'm sure. I'm sure someone will chastise me. Because there's a PlayStation 4. That's been available to me all this time. And I just refuse to. Take out of your room. Yeah. Yeah. It's going to stay there for a while. Yeah.
[01:20:39] Maybe someday I'll get around to playing a Spider-Man game. Good luck. I couldn't get past the training. And then if you remember. Jeff tried playing it. And he got so far. And he was so mad. He could not get past this burning building. There was something he had to do. Yeah. The burning building. Yeah. He was so frustrated with that. He was like. Take this thing home. Yeah. I can't get. I can't figure out how to. Jump. And do the webby things. I don't have no hand-eye coordination.
[01:21:10] Yeah. But you could have hit like 10 fucking bugs at one time. And I'm like. Where's my Animal Crossing? You know. I guess what I liked about like this. Batman Arkham series. It's like. It was like. It wasn't that complicated to play. Mm-hmm. Like you could play it. And you know. It wasn't. Over the top. Like. Oh boy. This is hard. Yeah. Um. And I'm not saying the Spider-Man game on there is hard. I'm just saying for me. I can't.
[01:21:39] I can't be pressing four buttons at a time on each side at the same time. You're a Mario girl. It's too much. You're a Nintendo girl. I love Nintendo. Like. The Nintendo. And I'm not saying it's like put down Nintendo games. Because I'm not. But they are. User friendly. Yes. Like. You. Like. You love a good Mario. You love a good side scroller. That's why you like Ratchet and Clank. Mm-hmm. Like a good side scroller. Mm-hmm. That's. You know.
[01:22:09] Kind of relaxing. You know. You love Animal Crossing. Mm-hmm. You. You know. Stuff like that is like your. Your wheelhouse. Mario Kart. Yeah. Mario Kart. Like. And I also do the hidden object mystery games where you have to. Yeah. You coach your own fucking speed on that shit. I have a bunch of them on my Nintendo. Or my Wii. Switch. You know what I mean. Yeah. The second you're attacked by something. You're. Huh.
[01:22:38] I'm thinking you're under attack by like multiple enemies. Yeah. You're very. Or if I'm on something timed. Yeah. I'm slow. Leave me alone. Let me go at my own pace. That's why I like Hay Day. Animal Crossing. Yeah. Word games on my iPad. Yeah. Nothing wrong with Xbox and that. Hey. If you can do it more prior to you. I know you'll. Like getting back into Mass Effect. Because you were really really into those. Didn't you have like. Three. Three. Yeah.
[01:23:07] Would you have to play those again to refresh her to do. Because they were very involved. No. No. Because I mean like the new game will have like its own tutorial. But like. Okay. What is it? Like the same characters leaving off from where three left off. What would. My understanding is they're. They're in an entirely new galaxy. Oh. Yeah. But it's the same people. No. Shit. Yeah. Yeah. I got. I don't know too much. Because you know like I.
[01:23:37] I kind of fell out of like you know. Keeping track of like. Video game stuff. So like I know it exists. I know it's out there. I know. It wasn't given that great of like. The original three Mass Effect games are like considered better. Um. Even though Mass Effect 3 like the ending of that is very controversial. Well. May I ask this new game. This new Mass Effect game that you want to buy for this PlayStation. May I ask price range what it is? Uh. When I was looking it up.
[01:24:05] I could pick it up on eBay for like 12 bucks. I wanted to get the new Mario game. I think it's like 60. What is that? 60. 80. Something. I don't know. I'm like how why does it cost so fucking much? But is that for like the new Switch that's coming out soon? No. The Mario. The new Mario on the. The last one they released for the Switch. Wow. The Switch I have. Yeah. I'm like I can't. But Nintendo games. Especially like a Mario game.
[01:24:36] Unfortunately it's going to hold value because it's like. Collectible. Hmm. I just don't want to play 60. I bought Animal Crossing three fucking times. I don't want to buy another goddamn Mario game for that much. You know what I mean? Come on. I get it. It's just too much. Well. Let's wrap it up here. If you must. Yeah. Um. Do have a. Thad. Email from Thad.
[01:25:06] Um. Thad is very happy that the. That the. Shador Sanders did not get drafted until like the sixth round. Sean can you suck Aaron Rodgers dick any harder? Geez. Suck. Suck. Suck. Swallow. Fuck him. He is a pain in the ass and a dickhead. Sean. It sounded like. A paid endorsement from Aaron Rodgers. Well.
[01:25:36] I'm going to defend myself here. I told the guy to fucking retire. And here's the thing. So he comes on Pat Mack if he showed. Because the Steelers are looking to sign Aaron Rodgers as their next quarterback. Mm-hmm. And he comes on Pat Mack if he showed. He talks about how. You know. He's got things in his life that are. He can't. Commit himself to a team right now. That's why he hasn't signed with anybody. You know. He. He. He.
[01:26:05] He wants to take care of things in his personal life. Who did he play for? Previously he played for the Green Bay Packers. And then he. The past two years he played for the New York Jets. Okay. And. You know. I was just saying like. First off. Let's call a spade a spade. Aaron Rodgers. One of the best to ever throw a football. Period. End of story. Like. Yes. He only won one Super Bowl. But you know. At the end of the day.
[01:26:35] The way I look at it is. If you look at. Four MVPs. He. He. He just. He's one of the best to ever throw a football. That's just. Not the best. But one of. And I'm telling the guy. It sounds to me. Like you've got one foot already out the door. The second you start thinking about retiring. You're retired. You're telling who? Aaron Rodgers. You were talking to Aaron Rodgers. I wasn't. No. But.
[01:27:05] He's a friend of the show. He listens to the podcast. Gotcha. Um. Jesus Lord. Like. I don't think I was sucking his dick. In any way. Shape. Or form. Like. I'm not a big fan of like having him here. As part of the team. Like I'm. I'm. I'm of the opinion that you need a young quarterback at this point. You need a. A franchise quarterback at this point. You. You need somebody. That you can build on for the next 15 years. Mm-hmm.
[01:27:35] You don't need an Aaron Rodgers. Unless you think you're going to win the Super Bowl next year. Which. I don't think they're going to with their. With or without Aaron Rodgers. Okay. So. I was going to ask you that. No. Like. I don't think Aaron Rodgers puts you over the top. Right. You know. Do I think he can win a playoff game? Maybe. But. Do I think he can put you over the top? No. Mm-hmm. So. I mean like. That's the thing. Like.
[01:28:05] If you consider that suck in a guy's dick. I don't have to tell you. Like. I. I don't think I did. I. I just felt. You know. Shit or get off the pot. Is kind of where I'm at. And. As far as like. Thad's accusations of like. You know. I'm a Shador Sanders. Like. Fanboy. Like. I'm not. I. I think. He fucked himself. I. I. I think in my. In my opinion. Like. Thad's like.
[01:28:35] Fuck him. He's an entitled little. But. Here's my problem with Shador Sanders. And I think this is a problem the NFL had with him. I don't think he's a football guy. Who's this guy? He. He played quarterback for the University of Colorado. He's Deion Sanders' son. Ah. That's where I heard that name. Yeah. Yeah. And. You know. Like. Going into this draft. He was considered to be like. It was like. He'll be a top five pick. And he dropped all the way to the sixth round. Oh. Wow. Yeah. It was a free fall.
[01:29:05] Yeah. And. One. This was a draft that was not quarterback. Like. Like. There was like one great quarterback to be taken. And there was a bunch of like. Other guys. Okay. Like. I think Shador Sanders. If he was dedicated to playing football. Could be a good quarterback. Not a great quarterback in the NFL. Mm-hmm. There's nothing wrong with that. But. Like. Thad. Thad. Thad.
[01:29:34] Thad is in our group chat. And the way he's rooting against Shador Sanders. You would have thought Shador Sanders. Fucked his dog in front of him. Holy shit. Like. Like. Tied Thad to a post. And then molested his dog. Oh my god. Like. This is how hard. Thad was rooting against Shador Sanders. Mm. And it's like. Wow. Yeah.
[01:30:06] Your. Your investment in Shador Sanders was much greater than mine. Yeah. And it was from a level of hatred that. Like. I reserve for. Baltimore Ravens. I reserve for Notre Dame. I reserve for Penn State. West Virginia. West Virginia. Excuse me. Sorry. Bengals and Browns. Like. There is a list of like. Well this. This. This. This. This. This. This. This. This. This. This. This. This.
[01:30:35] Wow. I. I haven't heard hate like that in a long time my friend. Right. You. You. You might want to. Maybe get. Talk to somebody. Get a little help. Oh. I think you've been saying that for a while now. Well. Yeah. He ain't ever going to take nobody's advice. Um. You're like. Get help.
[01:31:07] Please He also points out the two Penn State players were taken in the first round And zero Pitt players In the first three Wait till next year A maximum of three maybe five Penn State players Taken in the first round 2026 You heard it here first Well you know I was going to look up stats About Pitt players in the NFL
[01:31:35] Pitt players in the NFL Hall of Fame As compared to Penn State players in the NFL Hall of Fame I just thought I'd have to waste my time Because I know Pitt Produces NFL players Penn State does every once in a while Pitt I know Is in the I think the top three Amongst colleges that have Former players in the NFL Hall of Fame As compared to
[01:32:04] I don't even know where Penn State ranks So Wave your little flag Your blue and white flag Talk about next year You know All I know is What I know And that is Penn State is an also-ran program They're the fourth best in their conference They never win big games
