What a f%cking year it’s been! With Stone turning 1 soon, Gabrielle shares some thoughts in this solo episode on how parenting has been going now that he’s in his toddler stage (parents of toddlers, we see you and you got this) and gives some major props to stay-at-home moms, who probably have the hardest job of all of us. She also shares her thoughts on the latest Love Island drama, which is juicy AF for all the folks who haven’t seen it yet (spoiler: don’t trust Rob), and links that to her own experience with toxic partners. Gabrielle closes the episode with a wild and hilarious story from one of her FML’ers that includes green slime, a tragic house fire, and a rose vibrator. Honestly, where else could you put those three things together other than on FML Talk?! We love it, and we think you will too!

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Wait how old were we ever grown?
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: 19 people we've actually.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey this is Gabrielle Stone.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Good book.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna come and come and come.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He's in 1.48 hours.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: What did he do?
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but did you see all the photos on our Instagram?
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is fMLTalk.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh no she didn't.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_00]: What the actual fuck you guys.
[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Time is so fucking weird.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it literally they weren't lying when they said the days are slow and the years fly by.
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I feel like I blinked and my kid is about to be.
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: One oh my god.
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: What the hell?
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm having all the feelings.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It's wild to look back on pictures of him when he was just this little tiny.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Muffin and now he's like a full ass toddler walking around like a little drunk man that's had too much whiskey
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: and bubbling all around and saying mama and doing all the things.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know how I feel about it.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Will I cry?
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Will I be relieved?
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I will say that as much as I enjoyed the newborn stage for what it was worth and like loved so many things about that,
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_00]: there's no part of me that wants to do that again.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I am very much so enjoying that he can walk around the kitchen independently while I'm doing some of the things.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to do something and you can follow me to the next room like I'm into the toddler era.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And for those of you that are listening that have gone through the toddler era if you're like just wake Gabrielle wait until he starts saying no and throwing things and doing all the things the toddlers do.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know there's like shitty parts about every stage but there's also awesome parts about every stage and we're choosing to look at those.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: For right now.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I will keep you updated if I drastically change my mind but I've been like really reflecting on all of the things that I have learned all of like the challenges all of the surprises like I really underestimated the mom work life juggle balance mayhem and I very strongly feel that I was not made personally to be a stay at home mom.
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I have friends that are stay at home moms. I like quite literally stand up and applaud you on the daily if you have to.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I sent my sincere condolences if you have three like that's that was on you you're just batch it at that.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding. But like we have to one half the time and she is like babysits pretty much first stone and it's still chaotic as fuck granted.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I am running an entire business and taking work calls and recording podcasts and you know doing all the things in tandem but many fucking people go to nine to five jobs and like what like it's wild to balance the work versus the
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_00]: mom. There's times where work feels like a break and then I feel guilty about that but then I remember that my work I'm so passionate about that it is one of my babies.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And I feel really fulfilled when I do that and then when I come back to put my mom hat on I feel so reinvigorated like every time I'm away from him I'm like fuck I need a break but then I like miss him and I'm like oh I can't wait to go back and play with him.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It's this weird fucked up cycle in your brain that just continues.
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it makes no sense and I know if you're a parent you probably resonate with some shape or form of that and I think it's okay for those of us that are like I was not meant to be a stay at home mom because let's just be fucking real clear that is a harder job than any of the jobs that any of us are working.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: It's wild. It takes so much mental capacity physical energy like it's so much which is why when take comes home from you know shooting a film and then flying back on an airplane
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and then having to go to another gig for three days straight and work when he comes home he's like fuck I have to jump right in because he knows it's like as much as he was working to be solo parent on 24 seven is a fucking lot.
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's not to say that you don't like love your kids and like it's the best decision you've ever made because I wholeheartedly feel that way.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I just know in my heart that I need both and I need my the part of me that is a working professional and really has dream goal career vibes and the part of me that wants to be in play with my kid and love him to death and like do all the things like I need both.
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's become very clear to me and the juggle of that and the schedules of like you know my stepdaughter soccer and the baby naps and taste stuff and my stuff and then oh yeah I'm like writing a book at the same time gets very much so.
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_00]: a juggling act like the schedules are probably the hardest thing for us and at the end of the day and I always like there's not enough hours in the day and I personally.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And getting very aware and therefore sick of like the hustle culture I'm getting real sick of not waking up in Italy every day and being like oh all I have to do is like sip 11 cello and walk down to the water and grab some groceries on the way back.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: For much less than I pay in Los Angeles so I don't know we'll see where where we end up where life takes us what the turns are for my not parented listeners and for some of them because like I've been staying up way too late watching fucking love island we have to address a little bit of.
[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of island love because if you're like me you watched with most of the world the chaotic shit show that happened on the island and I need to discuss this whole Leah and Rob situation.
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: This is what's so fucked up about it the I feel the reason why people resonated with Leah so much who also is like from 10 minutes from where I live in Calbassas she we watched her be really into Rob and then we watched her.
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Get broken up with kind of blindsided out of nowhere and did she have like a not great reaction to that yeah, but like okay it is what it is.
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But like when he was doing the breaking up with her and then the tears came out of nowhere which like you guys know I'm all for show your fucking emotions men should cry like I give you a badge of honor for that but not when it's done in a manipulative manner.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And then doing a deep dive on Rob realizing he was part of a pretty well known TikTok group where they do like stupid shit in public.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And obviously had like a type of like performative online presence then I was like okay and I think the reason why so many people resonated with Leah is because we were all watching her get.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Gas line by this guy on TV who also at the same time happened to be very charming and good looking so everybody was kind of divided like he's toxic as fuck I hate him but like also he gets a pass in my book because he's so good looking which is such a fucking problem in itself.
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Realize that that's like the collective consensus but I feel like everybody resonated with Leah so much because we've all been in that situation where we've been like wait am I fucking crazy like were we not just on the road to happy honeymoonville and then all of a sudden you're like wait just getting there's no sexual chemistry between us what excuse me.
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's where people really started to like it was one of the really good examples in reality television of like shit that happens in real life where we end up thinking we're crazy and you're not.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: That being said I do think that it was not cool for her to call him out on crying like a little bit which she also then publicly apologize for so I will give her a pass on that.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Then there's like the fucking killer in air in situation okay. Sorry if you guys haven't watched Levi and this is only going to be another like a couple minutes of me ranting on this but I know many of you have and if you haven't you should start binging it from season one but be care I mean not from season one from episode one of this season but be careful because it will take over your life the killer in air in situation.
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope she watches this show back. I hope she watches it solo without him to convince her that like it was a bad at it because it wasn't like he is just a dick sorry like that's full stop.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: The fact that it all played out in cost so more so blatantly like that and half the show just became her hysterically crying and saying fuck Aaron was just like it was so bad and I feel like.
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_00]: So many women have been in that same situation where or men whatever it's not gender specific so many people have been in that situation where the person on the other end has been able to twist him and manipulate and get out of and.
[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Their way to forgiving and way too easily swayed he came back to the house she was like fuck this not cool I'm going to be single and then like that night she was like okay.
[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And smiling and I'm like he's not even that cute like too many people are settling for so much less there's columns guys he either.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And it has to be supporting your entire life financially and being a really stable secure person or he has to be like wildly good looking super nice puts you on a pedestal like totally good communicator you've got at least check some off the list it can't be.
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: He's broke and I'm having to financially take care of everything and he's an asshole and not treating me super well and cheating on me and he's like not that good looking either because that to me is what all of that person was if you guys don't know the backstory of Aaron he went on the traders which is the show for.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're known for lying and manipulating and skipping he won that show he had gifted the money he won to his mom but then asked for it back because he was in financial trouble a little bit later on so yeah I just hope for her sake I hope she watches the show back and like makes her own decisions based on you know what we all watched unfold.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay that's enough love island actually I will end on this note there is a quote that Leah said at some point when she was talking about leaving you know the situation with Rob and she was like you know so and so is a really good guy but I need a little bit of send me to the psych ward.
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like that's so unfortunately accurate for so many people so if you heard that and you resonated with that and you were like oh I need a little bit of toxic to stay interested or to be excited.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I beg an urge you to do some work on yourself and look inward because that is a fucking problem and you are never going to attract the person that you say you want that's going to be this like amazing.
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Wonderful partner that can communicate and take care of you make you feel safe and not cheat if you are needing some type of that toxicity in your life.
[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Period that is your definition of love is toxic I can say that because I know it I lived it I healed it like please listen when I say.
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_00]: If you feel that way at all or think you need some type of drama in your relationship or it to be exciting and not boring there is some shit that needs to be healed within you because that is not what you want that is not what you need and the relationships in the left can be just as exciting and just as good without potentially being sent to the psych ward.
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I promise you that certainly back to my reflections.
[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I've had way too much coffee this morning and that's all I'm running on at this point so we're going to just bubble all over the place in this solo episode.
[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking back because I've been talking to one of my friends about the fact that I think she should live alone because she's always had a roommate or lived with boyfriend and I was thinking back to when I finally lived on my own and I it was right after my eat prayer from the trip so I was oh max.
[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_00]: 20 eight when I finally lived by myself so like not at home not with a roommate not with a boyfriend or husband like I was 28 when I finally lived on my own and it was so fucking amazing for me.
[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_00]: For my brain for my growth like all of the things it was like one of the best things I could have done for myself and now I look back on that time and I'm so thankful that I.
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: God I'm so thankful that I didn't have kids Max has been could you guys fucking imagine.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I talk about this to my friends and I'm like I would have been well back in the day and on anymore but I would have been going on Instagram seeing my poor little angel baby in this house full of fucking influencers with hundred dollar bills flying in the air and like fake tattoos on his arm like what the actual.
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you Jesus. I am so thankful that I didn't rush that part of my life. I'm so stoked to be in it now and experiencing it now with where I'm not in life and with the partner that I'm with, but I'm so thankful that I took the time to live by myself have those nights where I was lonely have those nights where I was out with my girlfriends have those nights where like I did nothing at all and really like.
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Experience that like paying my own bills not needing to split anything with anybody or rely on anybody else like just doing stuff on my own for those two years even though I was in a relationship.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I have for part of that time with with Tay one of the times before we broke up it was such an important part of my growth to do that and especially now that I'm in my house that day and I got together and we have.
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Juni and we have stone and we have dogs and we're full picket fence vibes and I'm so happy to be here now at almost 36.
[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_00]: That's fucking wild, but I'm really I look back at that time where I lived on my own in my cute little bungalow apartment that felt like it's own little house.
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm so thankful that I did that.
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's really important for any of my people that are listening if you're not in a relationship or you're about to get out of a relationship and you haven't lived on your own and experience that it's so important.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you are in a relationship and you're listening to this or you're married and you've been married for very long times and you were young and you're like fuck I'm never going to be able to do that go on a solo trip.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't have to be eaten fucking Europe or Asia go somewhere for a week get a cute little Airbnb and just like be by yourself and allow yourself to have that it's really so important and I'm so thankful that.
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I did that because now this phase of my life is this new amazing chapter and I don't.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Look back with any feelings of like damn I wish I would have dot dot dot dot or I didn't experience dot dot dot dot I really feel like I checked off all the fucking boxes that I needed to check off before I started this new awesome chapter.
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm very grateful for that been very reflective on that coming up on my mother fucking angel babies one year birthday speaking of travel.
[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You guys know I did the Portugal trip that was like fucking amazing and life changing for not only all the women that went on it, but me it's crazy to see their all in a group chat yes I'm in it.
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes it blows up all the time and they get on zoom happy our calls once a week. It's like really created such a special bond and it's so awesome to see that blossom into like random effemellers that came together to meet and travel with me and created all of these epic friendships that'll last lifetime.
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_00]: We have to loom coming up it is fully booked that's in November, but the next two trips I'm doing are Columbia and Costa Rica by the time this airs.
[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: It will be August 7th so that means Costa Rica is opening in two days on August 9th. I haven't posted Columbia yet but by the time this airs, I would assume that it's probably sold out but always put your names on the wait lists because a lot of people from the wait lists get in on the trip because people have to drop out for various reasons.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So if you want to stay in the know on those trips and the trips that will be coming up in the future because I can confirm I am obsessed with now like getting to travel and meet you guys it is the best thing ever.
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Then DM me on Instagram and I will send you the link to put your email in and stay up to date to get a spot on one of the trips.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And the Costa Rica dinner already looks fucking awesome and I think there's 20 spots on that trip so if you can flag one highly recommend the surprise guests that's coming on that is epic you guys will fucking just be over the moon.
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Well you guys are listening to this episode currently we are about to fly back from a vacation in Hawaii.
[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_00]: We are I guess okay I'm recording this before we go so we're going with my mom and her boyfriend both the kids stay in I we feel very fortunate because we were able to go because of my mom's boyfriend booking the room with points that he had and kind of like finagling a bunch of stuff to be able to make this happen and I really want to try and do experiences.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_00]: For stones birthdays and stuff I mean I'm sure we'll like you know I've parties down the road and whatever but I personally feel like money is so much more valuable when it's spent on experiences so we're going to Kauai which my mom has not been to since I was literally stone zage.
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_00]: She's a she's a Maui girl and we're going to the same area to where Tay and I went for our baby moon so we're literally going back pretty much a year later and not pregnant this time.
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And getting to experience that now with my son is really exciting I will let you know if I feel the same way after the plane ride there and back.
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Trust me after Portugal there was nothing that could get me back on a plane except for going to Hawaii so as you listen to this we're preparing to fly back.
[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Cent prayers and good thoughts and all the vibes because little man is in his walking phase and the last thing he wants to do is sit on a lap for.
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Six hours oh my god fucking help me if you have tips if it ever gets easier let me know because I need the positive reinforcement at this point we literally canceled Christmas because we were like where I can't I can't do it anymore I have to stay put at least with the little baby for a couple months.
[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I can't get back on a plane but it's really special to be able to go back to a place that holds so many memories not quite specifically but like Hawaii in general and be able to do that with my mom don't tell her that I'm saying this but like.
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_00]: She's she's doing good but she's not getting any younger you know like she's gonna be 76 this December I'm gonna be 36 in November so I want my son to be able to have these memories whether he's gonna remember them or not cares.
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But like the photos and my mom being able to like experience her special place with him like I want it be able to do as much of that as we can while.
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_00]: She is still able to do it happily and enjoy all of it if she ever heard me saying that she'd be like Gabrielle how dare you I'm gonna be doing this until I'm 105 and I would say you go mom.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to be able to do that and you know stone loves his sister so much he gets so excited whenever she comes back from being away.
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it'll be really special for all of us to get to go together but you know what they say like you don't have a really take a vacation once you have kids you just go somewhere else with kids so I'm crossing my fingers that.
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: It is relaxing and fun and all the things that I know Hawaii to be and that he can just like hop on a new time zone schedule and it'll be easy and it'll be great.
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm manifesting that for myself and people are laughing going Gabrielle that's what you said before Portugal you know what it's only a three hour difference it's gonna be fucking easier at least let me do Lulu and believe that okay.
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay on that note we are going to jump into some of your FML stories here we go.
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey Gabrielle my name is Danielle and this is my FML story my niece was 11 at the time when her parents bought their first house they were still living in their rental while they were fixing up their new home making it perfect before they moved in.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_00]: My niece ordered slime online but didn't know what address to send it to because she didn't know which home she'd be living in when the slime arrived.
[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I told her she could send it to my house for weeks she would call and ask me every day of her slime arrived because it didn't come with a tracking number.
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Finally a small package arrived which I assumed was her slime because I personally don't do a lot of online shopping but this package was addressed to my name.
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought to myself why didn't she address it to herself.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I put it on the table next to the front door so I wouldn't forget to pass it on to her then I remembered I had purchased something for myself a while back which also didn't come with a tracking number.
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I decided maybe I should open the box to make sure it is her slime it is a good.
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It is a good thing I opened the package because it definitely was not her slime it was the Rose vibrator I had ordered from an Instagram.
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_00]: The same rose vibrator your friend Brittany spoke about on the fucking sex episode in season four shout out to if you have not listened to that episode it's one of our most listen to go back to season four and listen to the fucking sex episode with my friend Brittany Bennett.
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I was dying laughing imagining my 11 year old niece opening the box in the car on her way home asking her mom what is this her mom would have screamed what the fuck anti Daniel.
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_00]: It gets better at the time my new rose vibrator arrived I had a house guest visiting for a week I couldn't fire this sucker up no pun intended while I had friends staying in my home as soon as they left I couldn't wait to try out my new rose clips.
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm dying right now.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I went into the bathroom and realized it didn't come with a charge damn it now I have to plug it in and wait by the time it was charged I wasn't in the mood so I tossed it in the nightstand now here comes the best worst part of this FML story.
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I never got to use that amazing looking rose vibrator why the fuck not you wonder because of my god because it burned in the nightstand.
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god because it burned in the nightstand when my house burned down on August 8 stop it.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I just got chills because this episode is literally airing on August 7 and this story is wow okay.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and now I know who this person is and you're coming to to Luma and I can't wait to meet you.
[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay because it burned in the nightstand when my house burned down on August 8 in La Hina town on Maui.
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_00]: It's okay, you're not expecting the story to go there but it's something I can laugh about and I look forward to the day my niece is all to know for me to share this story about the time she almost got anti roses vibrator.
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Anti rose vibrator instead of her green slime. How fucking epic thank you for that ridiculous FML story I feel like we always get FML stories that are like cheating and overcoming and horrible fucked up relationship things but please know we accept all types of FML stories we don't discriminate on this show please send whatever you have.
[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a very important thing to do with the vibrator stories and all because this was hilarious and brilliant also it never ceases to amaze me how I pick these at total random and you can tell how badly I read.
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Do not read them until I'm recording and like how fucking weird that we were just talking about why it being our special place and you were in Maui.
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a very important thing to do with the live show that we are talking about.
[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a very important thing to do with the live show that we are talking about because Maui is such a special place to me and my mom and my family. I hope you guys are recovering from all of that.
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I donated when it happened I have sent gifts and such to the kids that lost a lot of stuff there and I hope everything can come back and be rebuilt on front street.
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh god my heart but so fucking weird like that that would be on today's episode anyways I do know that you're coming to to Luma I'm so fucking excited.
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Please feel free to bring your rose vibrator if you have since purchased a new one and if you have not listened to that episode in season four it's pretty fucking hilarious.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I still get messages about it for people that are right back in binging it. It's really embarrassing. I talk way too fucking much.
