Welcome back ragers to the best movie review podcast on the planet. The rage rolls on from the Film Rage Studio.
This week the Film Rage Crew watched Michael Keaton reprise his role as Beetlejuice. Then they go back to the eighties again with Deaner '89. And finally the latest A24 release The Front Room which just may have created a new genre of film. Then Jim was forced to watch the Rosanne Barr and Meryl Streep comedy and we use that word loosely, She Devil in the Rage or Dare segment.

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Viking which my best he got me for Christmas. That's right. He did. No, cuz that's my permanent attitude
[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm an angry Viking all the time. Yep
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_07]: All right. There you go. So the introductions out of the way

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Now let's get to raging
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Amazing
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: We come swimming to swim
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_07]: It always changes to I don't even know where to come in
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, then just didn't just don't
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, so swim Murray swim Murray shut up
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_04]: On the docket this week according to this we had three movies trough a
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: triple
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_04]: tribe banger effect that yeah
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_04]: First one beetle juice beetle juice, which I know you two were not looking forward to
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So go on a limb here. I'm gonna say double rage
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Boys
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Next up we have Dean or 89 which what I understand is like a
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Fubar prequel or something. It's the same guy if there any some character of it
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't know. Is it the same character? I don't even know
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, I didn't see the first two like I understand the concept of the whole thing
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's steel heavy metal rock dude through basically, you know lazy in their basements kind of thing rock out with your car
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So you got the 80s music and 80s car yeah, this was like for you
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_07]: There's a lot of
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So maybe
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think maybe double man because I don't think it was that great. All right, there was a lot of docking
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_04]: docking or talking
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Don docking they're a rock band. They're a band in the 80s never heard of them
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Teamwarriors, no, that doesn't know. All right. Sorry. I was strictly
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_04]: What's that song?
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Then and you're not making a case
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: The hardest I go is
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_06]: No, that sounds exactly better
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_06]: See it's a good thing
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Crew breaking the chains
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_07]: I had to do the whole thing so I can remember the chorus breaking the chains. It was in the movie to go
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I know the chain by Fleetwood Mac
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's not the same thing where but they could they could have been in the movie cuz that's they also were in the 80s
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And the last song it still never they could have performed that whatever I don't darken
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_07]: It was the tell you I tell you in Dean or 89. There was a lot of docking. Yeah
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: The last one the front room which I did see a trailer for at the movie theater
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And to me it looked stupid. But you produced it
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_03]: My forgot a 24 right?
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_07]: There's kind of a rule is it no guarantee
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_04]: there's I kind of think it might be a guarantee I don't think it's guaranteed cuz you got a
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Pop singer in their leading role. So I don't know about she's not she hasn't saying anything lately
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_07]: Weird thing is is it on the poster says brandy?
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_07]: It doesn't say her last name, but it's brandy norwood in the movie and the credits everywhere else
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_07]: But I thought I thought it was Monica. It just says brandy
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Is that because they're trying to attract people who liked brandy? Well, then they should have said
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Because that's who she starred as in the TV show she was
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_07]: She is a singer but she started a sitcom called Moesha
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but she when they go brandy it's because that was her tagline when she was a singer brandy name
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I understand that but if they want it, that's like rave your arguments terrible. That's like Raven
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Nobody knows how the last name is that's raven. That's not Raven. You know what? This is getting wound up
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: This could be anyway greatest. I'm probably gonna be terrible. I'm probably dead wrong, but I'm gonna go double rage on that double
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Rape
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Say 24 they've got a track record of a perfect record. They've had a few
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Can you know one has a perfect record? Can you list a 24? There's been no rages
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_07]: So be the first ever if there's been a few minutes
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, there's been some mess. It doesn't mean it doesn't mean we're saying
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Some is by you guys. Yeah, I rage about a couple of them. Yeah. Well, that's neither here nor there anyway
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I probably did wrong there but yes go double read. All right
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Fire away
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Was that it? That's all we saw. We only saw three. I know it's well
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what that could change the next little while cuz we got lots on the dock dock and coming up
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_07]: No, so that's a docket. Oh, you still got docking on the brain for me or 89
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_07]: There's so much there's so much talking so much. It was a lot of docking. Oh
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Man so much so much talking. All right, would you like to tell us about beetle juice?
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Beetle juice. Yeah, beetle juice beetle juice
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_07]: Latest movie from mr. Tim Burton now
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't know if you knew this or not
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_07]: But there was actually a beetle juice in the 80s and this is actually this is the sequel to oh
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_03]: So it's not beetle juice too. It's just two beetle juices
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, cuz they can't put three because otherwise he'll show up
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_07]: But he's like he's like isn't he supposed to be like a demon so he shouldn't have a ghost
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay, dad, so he doesn't age but now he's definitely looks older makeup even with the makeup. That's why that's why Gina Davis wasn't in it because
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: She has aged she was dead too. So well
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what she said ghosts don't age. That's why she wasn't in it. Yeah. Yeah
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, so that's what he should know he is more of a demon. She was a ghost
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he was like a demon yeah, cuz he crosses back and forth. Yeah, he's not a ghost
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I think ghosts can pack back and forth too. I don't think so. I don't think ghosts exist
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what the universe that beetle juice is created makes no sense
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_03]: So you know what and that's the thing. Apparently that's the reason why he's old
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Anyways, this was a sequel to that 80s movie that everybody loved except for me
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_07]: I thought it was not terrible. I kind of here's it. Here's it. Here's the thing though
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_07]: kudos to Tim Burton for
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Keeping a lot of practical stuff alive for keeping
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Puppets alive. Yeah for you know, cuz this was all practical
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I don't think there was a CGI thing in this whole movie and
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Kudos to him for doing that even the little animation sequence. That was funny. It was completely out of left field
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah, it didn't fit at all
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_07]: But it was still I was still happy to see it because everything in this movie
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_07]: I was really happy to see the problem was the movie
[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Was not good
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Having said that
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_07]: It's always worth watching Beetlejuice just for Bob. Bob is funny
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_07]: every scene with Bob is
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_07]: gold
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_07]: Absolute gold that would be the shrunken head guy solid that would be the shrunken head
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Now you multiply kind of the lead shrunken head kinda talk sort of Beetlejuice left hand man
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: His mouth is so shut. He can't say words. He kind of talked a little bit
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_07]: No, he just kind of mumbles. He doesn't say words. He doesn't talk at any rate
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, this was kind of weird. I didn't like I didn't I thought that they they took us this story and
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_07]: It's one of those deals where when did this what when was the first one like third 40 years ago
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_07]: 35 years ago, probably late 80s late 80s
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so, you know you got 35 years to come up with a script. This was not a good script for new
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_07]: According to me. That's right audience
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Well most people that are watching this not that I care about what anybody else thinks most people aren't loving this movie
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_07]: They're going to see it and that's they're not loving it and unless you're unless you're having a great big
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_07]: nostalgia sandwich anybody that's new to Beetlejuice, it's never seen the original or
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely avoid this movie because there is nothing for you in this there's a little bit of cool animation
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Bob's funny
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_07]: But is that worth 90 minutes of your time and I don't know 14 15 20 bucks
[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_07]: Whatever they charge for movies these days
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Probably not at the end of the day though. I saw the first one
[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_07]: I like the animation Bob was funny
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Just not I just didn't I didn't buy I didn't like the story. I didn't think Jenna Ortega added anything
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm not a big fan of hers Justin through he kind of just annoys me and everything. He's in his Rory
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Katherine O'Hara underused and
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_07]: Not at her best
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_07]: So yeah at the end of the day, I didn't hate it. It was meh
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_07]: All right Bob so so Bob needs his own movie unfortunately, it would have to be a prequel to this one
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you know why alert they killed him good that would that would be a good one
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I totally watch a ball. Yeah, although there was like 72 Bob's, but I don't want any dialogue
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's no just no dialogue. No dialogue. Well, I like to see what happened before his head got shrunk
[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Didn't he get didn't get shrunk in the first one by that witch doctor? Yeah, cuz he was sitting there in the waiting room
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Beeljuice guys had shrunk too. Yeah
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_03]: There's another thing which makes no sense his head should still be shrunk
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so I never wanted a sequel to Beetlejuice and still wish that there never was one
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_03]: It had way too many storylines going on at the same time some of which
[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Were kind of not fully mature see if my glasses work. Oh they do
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well maybe some more were but for the most part not out of the more mature
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_03]: No, and I still have no idea why Beetlejuice got older which we've already kind of talked about it still makes no sense
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_03]: It also makes no sense that his head isn't shrunken 40 years. Can anyone yeah, but he's a freaking ghost
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Are they gonna read ghost and demons?
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe or he could have just said no and they call it Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and have the rest of the cast. Thanks. Okay
[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Coming to coming to more
[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Can anybody explain it to me? I mean
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_03]: He's a fucking dead person so they don't age but let's get over this
[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_03]: but and
[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_03]: There is a big but and I cannot lie
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_03]: It had Danny DeVito did and Willem Dafoe
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: The best kind of train that's right a soul
[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Train it had Katherine O'Hara at her funnest. I thought Katherine was great in this
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Michael Keaton at his Beetlejuiciest
[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_03]: They took care of all the missing cast in a creative and not terrible way
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I laughed and sang along with the music numbers and all in all it was a fun movie that never needed to happen
[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: So it was man I got some unpacking but I didn't you know, here's the thing this I grew with Bryce the writing was not great
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_03]: But I did have fun because the characters they created were still fun except for Jenna or take it which I'm gonna get on board
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: With that. All right. Okay. Look so that was a man. That's too man. Here's the deal
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh the real deal if you didn't like the original film, you probably won't like this one
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: This movie was not made for you
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Michael Keaton has done a lot of dramatic roles in his career
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And if you prefer your Keaton to be more serious, there are much better options
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_04]: This film is in his own words the most fun role
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: He ever did the only one he wanted to return to more than Jack Frost
[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_07]: That doesn't make any sense
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Katherine O'Hara is back
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_04]: In my most favorite role that she's done since SCTV. I loved her in both
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: You didn't like
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And come on has there ever
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Been a film that willem Dafoe did not make better just by being in it. It's true Murray can't lie
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a truth. I really saw the same for the rest of the cast
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Jenna Ortega was a great choice with a creepy daughter because she is creepy. I
[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Have never and will never
[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Justin Theroux what I don't care what role he plays I can't stand the guy
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Predictably, he's a sleazebag in this one, too
[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Danny Vito was great except his part was far too brief
[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_04]: The crazy lady who stapled her body parts back together was decent though
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Her story arc was a big misdirect for the actual plot of the film
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was didn't make me thought it would be a thing and it wasn't no
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_03]: They had too many story arcs in it almost an afterthought really it was it was all over the place
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: What this film was?
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: fun, I
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Loved all the practical makeup effects and weird creatures of the underworld. Absolutely two words
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: soul train
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes
[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It was awesome. The demon baby was fun, too
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of doesn't love a demon, but more juice that's right. The music was great
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That Denny Elfman theme song had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn't help but hum along because I missed that song
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_04]: The music number at the end was fun, too, though. I seriously don't understand the lyrics to MacArthur Park
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone left the cake out in the rain. What the hell does that even mean?
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone met left the cake out that song makes no sense. It makes no sense at all
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I much prefer the weird Alvers and the parody about Jurassic Park. They should have put that in I won't sing it for you though
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_04]: There was some
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Interesting plot twists as I said as I said before the misdirected them is supposed main villain was surprising
[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she was hardly in it. It was riddled off being a big thing and then it didn't see her till the end
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_07]: She ended up not being the main villain. Yeah, which was again
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, good kid was he yeah, he was trying to don't give away stuff was he I don't know
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, there was a different view
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So many funny moments, you know, if I was the only person in the sold-out auditorium that was laughing
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh was sold out so so apparently not everybody in the movie did like there was plenty of kids there
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Laughing but you know, I appreciated because I was old enough to actually see the original and most people in the audience were not
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Everybody's old enough to see the original you can see it anywhere. No, I mean when it came out in the theaters
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Appreciate it in the original
[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah on watching on the TV
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't care. I pull it up right now. I like what I like I even watched the original again
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So did I?
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Some miracle was it twice it was it was I fell asleep the first time
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Just eat your damn chip. Yeah, eat your chips trying to finish my sentence chip
[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched the original again, which by some miracle was on network TV last week
[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: What what are the chances of that happened? What?
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, okay. I
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Love this movie a lot
[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But it wasn't a mondo what that Justin guy really ruined every scene
[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you saying? This was a trifecta man? Yeah, if he wasn't cast now, I might have gone to a mondo
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, he sucked terrible. So it's a high man, but a fun nostalgic ride with mr
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Burton and mr. Keaton. Oh, well, you know what that I enjoyed it. So we all totally agree
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, but my is a little higher on the spectrum
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_02]: There you go, it's really level it's probably
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know what that's it's definitely probably three different levels
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I think it barely got to meh for Bryce. I was mid-level man
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you were gonna hate it. I you you know saying you were gonna well
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was gonna hate it and then I couldn't hate it cuz cuz the all the characters they had like have
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Just having Danny. I just like it was great. Danny DeVito was brilliant
[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Dead guy he was he was a it was a cop but in life he was an actor
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_03]: He's an actor trying to be a cop. You know, his whole arc was fantastic
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so I do have some unpacking that I want to unpack so
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_03]: What the fuck is with Beetlejuice and his Italian am I missing something? Oh, you mean speaking Italian?
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like he was he had a couple of scenes where there was Italian. Is it because his his girlfriend Italian? Yeah
[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the woman that he married and then tried to kill him was Italian
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_04]: At least the actress is I don't know about the
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_04]: character but yeah, they were in Italy I
[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_03]: guess but
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Like there was scenes in it where she wasn't
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Italian if you're it's like I don't know why you had a problem with that
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like vampires if you're alive for like 300 years you pick up some stuff. Okay, you travel you pick up languages
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You got nothing else to do your board, right? Yeah
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, can we also talk about did they really need to sing dayo at the dudes?
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_03]: funeral
[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Weird yeah, that was stupid
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely with the choir it was done. I did see the head still movies dumb. That's the but it is oh
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_03]: That's me. Oh, I never got it till now
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Headstone was fine. God you just explained that to me. There you go. You're welcome. I didn't do the headstone though
[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: The father who dies which
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_04]: In reality, but he died in real life. Yeah, cuz no, no, he didn't he's still alive
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Do we even have to go there major trouble yeah, he's oh there's yeah, he's got some skeletons
[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Either in prison or awaiting prison, but yeah
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Inexcusable thing they wrote him off and apparently he's a birdwatcher bird lover
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And he he like his plane crashed and then he ended up in the ocean and he's got a nice shirt by sharks
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Cut in half. I think what brought me back his character, but it was just like his his
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Torso without the head. Yeah, which was more just I thought it was nice
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, they were they recast practical effect. They recast that character
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, but the his thumb was it was a shark fin. That was funny. Yeah
[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Again, it's read. I guess the ridiculous. It's mostly ridiculous. I'm okay with that
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, have you seen Tim Hurtin Tim Burton movies like everything Johnny Depp has ever done? Yeah, they're all ridiculous
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Another one kind of skews towards the abnormal. Yeah
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_07]: You know what? I didn't hate it, which I thought I was going to say he skews towards the kooky kooky wacky
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Wackadoo whatever kooky wackadoo Tim Burton except for Ed Wood, which is so good
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_03]: That's all I have I mean I've got other stuff but we kind of already talked about
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Well
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: She
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Was younger no no writer yeah, I mean she keeps playing she's like almost 30
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I think now and she keeps playing 17. Yeah, how long has she been playing a 17 year old for 42 years?
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, well that's enough of beetlejuice beetlejuice
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Say it again. You don't use beetlejuice beetlejuice. Okay, so
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_03]: We got to see
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Dana 89
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_07]: Or fuck
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_03]: It's dead that movie was deadly. I
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Mean how many times?
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So this is a typical prairie
[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_03]: story from the 80s a and
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_03]: How many times do you think they said the word fuck or deadly in one movie?
[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I I just I don't know cuz I gave up counting
[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But there is a lot judging by by the first two foobars on the same guessing a lot
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_03]: There was a lot I did learn though that a rubber glove and a toilet paper roll
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_03]: can made a portable fuck machine or
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_03]: That Dean er as a young Christian understood what over-the-panty stuff meant heavy petting
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_03]: heavy squirting heavy cleaning
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_03]: That sometimes things are double fucked like those adult actresses and
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Quote like that guy
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Won't go away. It's like when you get dog shit in your hair or
[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_03]: 69 is a big number is big for everybody, but 1869 is big for us
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Meaning the Métis people it's not right Murray
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_03]: 1869 come on
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right as a Métis man that should be the most important
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_03]: 69 is important to Bryce and I but 1869 is important to you
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so and many many many more in this movie
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Here's the story though a young Métis man who has some thyroid issues that makes him look like an old man
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_03]: adopted by a super white parent
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Actually super white parents with an adopted sister from the black community who is also
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Deadly at hockey and learns
[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_03]: From the one and only Canadian icon Mary Walsh how to rock out on the bass and
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_03]: giver
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_03]: He goes on a spiritual journey to Calgary to find his destiny and embrace his Métis roots. I never thought I
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_03]: would
[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Based on this trailer
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Think this was gonna be any good, but I laughed a lot at this and with this
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_03]: There is a ton of ridiculous in both from the story side and also from the detail details and continuity
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_03]: there's a scene particular Bryce and I are watching it and
[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_03]: The dad's like leaning out the door and then they show the back shot and there's the doors not doors not even open
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, wait a minute shouldn't the door still be open and it added to the enjoyment
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Which still made it funny I laughed at a comedy
[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a lot. Yeah, it was man
[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_07]: yeah, I mean it was there was a I laughed a lot in this movie and I
[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Do I remember do I remember the movie two days later? No, but in the moment was I laughing? Yeah
[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_07]: I laughed a lot in this movie and didn't think we were going to too. I mean, it's not a work of art the
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_07]: It's edited either were the other two movies. It's
[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_07]: It you know, the story I guess is
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_07]: You know, it's it's kind of important. Yeah
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_07]: It's weird. It's got there's the first the story so ridiculous, but it's at the same time
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_07]: It's kind of important. Yeah, and it does say something in a roundabout way gets to it by the end
[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and you know what?
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_07]: It was it was also man for me and it's just purely based on the fact that I just laughed so darn much
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I can't believe how much I laughed in this movie
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and we you were the one they thought like I thought I don't think I'm gonna really like it
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_03]: But when you watch I tried
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You know all that Decker music
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_07]: By the way, there is a lot of docking
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Watching a music video for an hour and a half so much dock
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_03]: There's so much talking and then we get to see one of the characters from docking. Yes
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Just I was then they show that them on stage and I was trying I'm like, you know what that could be done
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_07]: But I don't think it was but I didn't I didn't really notice in the credits whether they're where they're docking were themselves
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_03]: But you know what? They they brought to light some pretty cool things about the indigenous community in Saskatchewan, Manitoba
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Alberta and
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_07]: And we had a Kevin McDonald sighting. We did that in itself. That's make it math
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and he was you know, he was Kevin McDonald. It was amazing
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Yo, just just looking at him, you know make it some sort of expression just makes me
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so yeah, no I I am so shocked that I enjoyed this movie but I genuinely
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Enjoyed this movie and it's it's outlandish
[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_07]: There are more there might be more f-bombs in this movie than maybe any movie ever been made
[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Since we've are okay. Wait, but here's the thing
[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_07]: It's still got it's got heart and it it actually made me feel stuff
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, there was the feels going on. So you know what it did what it needed to do and it was enjoyable
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I think any Canadian from the 80s or 90s should see Dean or 89
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, 100%
[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely totally including humor even with the talking if I was I was aware it was a political movie about my people
[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I might have made more of an effort
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's so much more than that you guys go on Mondays and I was busy hanging with the Raptors on Monday you were nice
[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's two minutes there Murr. All right then
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Nice
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm excited for
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Dean or 2025 that's all I'm gonna say. There you go. All right. Do you want me to lead this one off?
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_07]: What what is it?
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't even know what else we watch. Oh the front room got you doing the intro. Yeah. Yeah, I don't even remember
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Watching it. No, I remember watching it. Okay, I'll take this one. All right. All right
[00:28:39] so
[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_03]: these days
[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_03]: The films have trailers and lately they also have interviews with cast and directors
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So in this one our main I want to put
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Antagonist aka stepmom aka
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Katherine Hunter aka Solange
[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Says this film is unique and almost a new genre. Of course, I thought while I watched the trailer
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right
[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Well color me stupefied the new genre
[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_03]: We just watched is and I'm gonna think this is a very unique and original genre
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_03]: religious pooping granny horror
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the new genre. Yes, it's definitely religious
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_03]: It's definitely hoping there's a lot of granny horror granny and there's but there's also comedy so cut
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Just pooping granny horror comedy. Yeah, there you go. So
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Katherine Hunter is
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Brilliant and is a reason alone to see this movie as the evil
[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Weird stepmom the story itself is a bit of a slow burn and build slowly
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_03]: But we do get to really know each character
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and as a new mom Brandy who has to deal with a new career a new baby and
[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_03]: overworked and underpaid husband with past family issues and soon her husband's
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Stepmom who abused him as a child moves in with them
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_03]: for money
[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_03]: And I mean lots of money a lot of money
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Slowly we realize that our stepmother is either possessed by the Lord or Satan or something and
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Starts messing shit up literally
[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_03]: MESS
[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_03]: That spells mess that's right, but we also find out she's a member of the KKK
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_03]: It is putting on an act to fuck with our poor mom played by and Brandy case you missed
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: the intro
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_04]: The the wife or the mother is black
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Brandy's black. Yeah. Yes
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_03]: you know
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Brandy the singer Randy the singer. Yeah from like 1990. Yeah, that's right
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_03]: She's back baby as an actor 30 years later
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right. Needless to say there is a bunch of shit that completely unwinds our poor Brandy
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_03]: The story is put together good
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_03]: But the ending kind of has too many endings and spells it out a little too much for my liking
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I really enjoyed this and was creeped out a lot and loved all of that creepiness
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking forward to the next religious pooping granny horror calm
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_03]: But I found this one had some pacing issues and transition issues that the story was so
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Good was a high man
[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I think religious pooping granny horror. Maybe my new favorite genre. There's a lot of pee in it, too
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_03]: more poop
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_07]: She's mopping up urine a lot especially off that leather coach
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Now the question is is this accidental or she doing it on purpose because you get the impression that living in a home
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Run by a black person. Yeah, she's doing it on purpose. Yeah, yeah, you know is I
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Mean call them a call them B. Yeah, the husband thinks it's it's because she's got incontinence
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_03]: But Brandy knows if you're really evil Brandy knows different. I don't care about the clunky transitions
[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't care about all that other crap. You're talking about saying well, maybe it wasn't that good
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_07]: It's this movie was so so freaking entertaining to give it anything but a mondo is
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Ridiculous I don't care what problems you had with it at the end of the day
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_07]: You I don't know
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't understand how you couldn't just absolutely just enjoy this thing. I was enjoying what it was
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_07]: I was enjoying it and Catherine Hunter as Solange
[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I don't know that I've had a character in the last long while yeah that has
[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Has been as entertaining as her and and her performance in this I mean it is it is a
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_07]: brave performance
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_07]: she puts it all out there and
[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_07]: You know did
[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_07]: There's lots of stuff you could nitpick out. That's what I'm doing
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_07]: That's our job to nitpick, but you know what sometimes you can nitpick at stuff
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's just the most it just is person
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_07]: It just does the guy who goes from a bondage to a rage because the one thing I know what I just had such a good
[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_07]: Time pre-bred at no point at no point
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Did I go
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Whatever was happening on the screen was gonna make this less than a mondo because it was so much fun
[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_07]: I love you love the ending to don't care. I enjoyed it care. So it everything are you?
[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_03]: So good new person is good post the ending was the ending it was fine
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_07]: This is going to bring down. You know why I love the ending
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_07]: You know I loved the ending because it clocked in at just over 90 minutes
[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_07]: And that was the perfect amount of time for me to spend with these characters
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_07]: So the ending was just fine the we got to it quickly the perfect I enjoyed this movie a lot
[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_03]: It's with these people
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Because there was about 10 minutes. There's 10 minutes. They could have popped out of it you sir
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_07]: are incorrect
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Mondo I think you might not have liked it
[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I will scary at all no no I wouldn't have like yeah, it's not it's not a whore
[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't find people pooping to be fun
[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_07]: It's more of an absurdist comedy than it is than it is an actual like it has to be one or the other and there
[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_07]: It was in the middle somewhere, and there are different types of comedy in this there is there's gross out comedy
[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_07]: There's cerebral comedy. There's absurd comedy like they've mixed every type of comedy
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_07]: There's some slapstick. It's all in here sure yeah all of it. There's some comedy, but you know ultimately
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_03]: It's one of those I mean it's horror from the sense that it's that great what brandy's going through is horror
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: There is supernatural shit. That's happening in it
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't think there was ever any
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Don't know what you're talking about. Oh my god. There was no supernatural in there a demon involved, okay?
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So what about the cross with the baby those were those were dream sequences those were not she even showed it to her husband
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Her husband was sorry sorry the what the cross with the baby
[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_03]: When you put the cross over the baby it stops crying and you move the cross
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Babies cry that's who can explain what babies do babies are little wieners. Yes, it shouldn't even be
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Why do you let me what they're even have them there is supernatural things that happen with this lady in fact
[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god no wonder you like this movie so much you don't even remember
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Perfectly
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Other than your little baby thing which is like babies
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Creepy people that came over and put her hands on her and they healed her belly
[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_03]: No, they didn't heal her oh my god. How many times did you fall asleep in this movie?
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_07]: I didn't fall asleep at all you must have you don't remember. Oh, yeah, there's a belly. Okay. There was one thing
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Things where they showed supernatural
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Poppy cock I don't know what you're all right well you know for those who haven't seen this movie yet expect to see some supernatural
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_03]: There's none expect to see some creepy maybe a maybe a belly healing
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_03]: And there's some pooping there's some pooping. I won't say a lot of poop
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_07]: I would say but you know there's there's the right amount and there's a lot of cleaning up poop
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_07]: That's right, which is you know what it is and mopping up pee. Yeah, it's good time
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I think so I love this movie. It was good
[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Catherine hunter was amazing
[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Are you gonna talk about Katherine hunters top ten films Murray?
[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Please do the hell is that she was this you a salon
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That even is no slunge. I have something just a tad more serious what you got here's in a midsummer night
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_03]: You're done talking about poop. I have something okay. Let's hear who's important things
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_04]: She might be undoubted didn't even get through that whole movie. I only thought two-thirds of it
[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_07]: What's that poor things? Yeah, well that's weird. We had to shut it off to go to the other movie. That's right. Yeah, I
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Don't even know what you're talking about. Oh, yeah, because you weren't there. I really am
[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't not even sure I'm here. He's not here right now
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_03]: We already know that just shut your yap for next time all right. Let's hear it, baby
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna try her I'm gonna try you do yeah, no you're not I'm gonna try you finished your chips
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, what a bit good time to eat them right right about now well
[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it got me a bigger bag that wasn't my choice
[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: on
[00:37:55] Monday
[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_04]: The great James Earl Jones passed away
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_04]: 93
[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Usually a celebrity death isn't a huge deal around here, but in the case of mr.
[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Jones I think we can take a few minutes to celebrate his career all right
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_04]: For he's mostly known as the voice of Darth Vader and King Mufasa in The Lion King
[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_04]: He really had a lot of good is CNN and CNN
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So here are some of his best roles
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Conan the barbarian wow in 82
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Admittedly I have yet to get through this lengthy sci-fi film
[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_04]: But there's no doubt Jones was like as
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Good in it he's good
[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_04]: cult leader who kills
[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Takes whatever he sees Arnie's getting everything this came out after Empire Strikes Back
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_04]: We finally got to see what Darth Vader might look like without the mask that's right
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Next movie turned out to be a white guy. I'm a white guy that old white guy in Jedi
[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Next up the great white hole
[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_04]: 1970 this film earned Jones his only Oscar nomination though he did get an honorary one about 12 years ago
[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_04]: He also won a Tony Award for the same role
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_04]: The great white hope won the Pulitzer Prize for drama and the Tony Award for best play
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Cool in this film Jones plays a version of heavyweight boxer Jack Johnson
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_04]: world's first African American champion
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Battles a society trying to keep him down and condemns his relationship with a white woman
[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I've never seen this film, but it sounds like it's worth checking out. It's good. It is good
[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, the next one. I know you guys aren't gonna like
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Coming to America. Oh my god. I'm sorry, but I coming to America or coming to America
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, still terrible
[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Movie as one of a Murphy's biggest fans. I would easily put this in my top five Murphy films
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Mmm, Eddie is incredible playing in multiple. I'm sorry what?
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Pop five okay my favorite
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Of all time really Eddie Murphy movies. Yes
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I love this movie. Very nice. He's incredible playing multiple roles including an old Jewish white man
[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_04]: People didn't even know it was him
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Our city hall also has a lot of funny roles essential to why the film works so well though
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Who plays King Jaffa back we're focused again well-meaning brick of a father
[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a solid commanding presence that in some ways is the heart of the movie
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_04]: He just wants the best for his son who doesn't it was a good role. Yeah next up the Jack Ryan film
[00:41:00] multiple
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Hunford October still ranks as one of my favorite movies and possibly one of the few military
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: War films I actually enjoyed that was Sean Connery trying to speak Russian. That's right
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Really well
[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_04]: The initial trilogy Jones plays Admiral James Greer the commander who actually recruited Ryan in the first place
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Unfortunately, they made another one with Ben Affleck and without James Earl Jones
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_07]: Talking about that Ben Affleck's the best I know you don't want to talk about it cuz he just
[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Jones wasn't in that that's what this is about that's right. It is okay
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Arsenio except one of the big ones field of dreams
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_04]: 1989 yes if you build it he will come
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes
[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Another sports spoiler alert. Yeah, this movie's awful while I find watching real baseball be mind-boggling
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Apologies to our American really out in it. I
[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I love reload really over to now. He's now he's joined James Earl Jones up there
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I do enjoy the other way around but yes
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I do enjoy a drill joins him. Yes, but now they're together together again
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Now they just gotta wait together again now they just wait for Kevin Costner
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Field of dreams anyway easily one of the best sports movies ever made Kevin Costner plays Iowa farmer Ray
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_04]: guided by mysterious visions to build a baseball diamond
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_04]: The film was very Frank Capra ask a little optimism and hope probably why you didn't like it
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's awful Jones plays Terrence Mann controversial writer of the path to become central to the overall mystery and
[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_04]: towards race supernatural
[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_04]: reconciliation with his father
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is what it was actually
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Spree clean of Jesus in there too. There wasn't any Jesus really baseball
[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Shoes, I mean it was about the yeah, I mean there was nah. I don't think they really brought up
[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Now remember card
[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Watched it was a while hundred years ago. Ah watched it once then we have enough
[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Doctor strange love we do have how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_04]: All the time this came out in night twice on Sunday before I was born so a bit before my time and I didn't
[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Starring Decker sellers and George C Scott
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_04]: The dark satire toys with a scenario of nuclear fallout that becomes increasingly absurd
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: After strange love was nominated for four Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor for Sellers
[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Jones in a small but highly memorable role as Zog is
[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: The bombardier who attempts to be the voice of reason at one point but for clammy becomes simply inevitable
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_04]: His character is last seen as the bomber who drops the nuclear bomb over there over Russia that scene is so good
[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You're King Kong slim pickin straddling it like a mechanical bull
[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It may be the most iconic moment in the image and all of satirical cinema
[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_03]: And Murray you got out if you haven't seen this movie you have to see it
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to my house. I own it. Um, okay, then we have the Lion King
[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_04]: This remains my favorite all-time animated film
[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm and probably the last one that I enjoyed and it came out in 1994. What how much I don't like animated
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_03]: What did you see heavy metal? Okay, maybe Toy Story is up there. What about heavy metal?
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: There's boobies
[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Young
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_04]: To this day I cannot go through watching Lion King without sobbing like a whiny baby. Really? Oh, yeah, it gets me every time
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_04]: In the film Jones voiced the patriarch of the Pride Lands the wise and just awesome
[00:45:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Who seeks to pass on his knowledge of the great circle of life to his sons?
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Lion King loosely based on Shakespeare's Hamlet
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Is a visually masterful funny musical with some of the highest dramatic stakes of any family
[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_04]: features an amazing soundtrack with some Elton John songs and the hilarious Akuna Matata
[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm message and of course his number one
[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Anakin Skywalker aka
[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Even though David Prowse wasn't the suit it was Jones's voice that really gave us chills
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Jones actually signed over the rights to his voice recordings for Disney to reuse over and over again for all future Star Wars projects
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Jimmy made hope they gave him at least ten dollars. They're here will never die
[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_04]: No, you know, I just saw a thing on this today because he actually said it like a pervious interview
[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_04]: For the first Star Wars
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Angel Jones got seven thousand dollars. What that's big money
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Seven grand to talk into a microphone we talk into a microphone and get nothing
[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he got me a dad college any merchandising right here anything, but luckily he came back for two more
[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, yeah, I just hope this family still gets paid for all that work
[00:46:55] So
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_04]: No matter what you remember James Earl Jones from it could truly be said that we lost a true giant
[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_03]: True that's all I got that is true and
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_03]: an inflation calculator of
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_03]: $7,000 30 grand is worth
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_03]: $36,000 to talk into a mic. Yeah
[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_07]: like
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_07]: 30 lines
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Do that in like 20 knock those out in 20 minutes. So he's making so he's making like 200 over 200 grand an hour
[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Sure, that's right
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_03]: That's how the math worked but 36 times. Oh, did you say 36? I heard you say 70
[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_04]: He's making over a hundred grand an hour luckily he came back for two more movies and got paid on guess
[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Probably not a hundred grand an hour
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_04]: He probably owns the rice all those old Star Wars guys those little Darth Vader's that are running around
[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, so yeah
[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Was like Eddie Murphy speaking of Eddie Murphy I stick GI Joe's in my butthole
[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Was that speaking of Eddie Murphy?
[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Always gotta go there, you know, don't remember his
[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Then a big brown shark came
[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And GI Joe got stuck and GI Joe got stuck in the water slash my bottle
[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh
[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, I got a multi banger today
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_03]: first rage first first rage is a
[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Continuation because if price can continue a rage for like well probably in there
[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's just assume it's eventually gonna get there. So you know, I'm gonna start this time this time. It's price
[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I haven't got a reason yet, but it's coming. I am almost positive of it
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's my first rage is bright second way you'll be raging about me in a minute. Okay, perfect second second ray
[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_07]: I had a rice rage to I may I may be talking about Cine Club some more. Oh my god
[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, see it's right off there now. Yeah. No, but it's like it's I'll tell you in a minute
[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, okay. So good. So it's out of the way Bryce. I may still bring it up again my second rage
[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Is can we please stop getting the only people that make original films now is a 24
[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_03]: The only ones in Hollywood that do original film. So your rage is everybody but a 24. Yes
[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Last week those blue mouse cuz they're terrible. That's the two major but companies that make horror movies
[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_07]: But a 24 doesn't just make or they make all sorts of stuff
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_07]: They just make everything and they make everything good and it's all original
[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_07]: It's all original kind of a bunch of remakes and reboots and rehashes
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's the only one that's willing to take risks on there
[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_03]: and so that that's another part of my rate rage, but mostly because
[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_03]: This I think it was yesterday or today. I tagged Maria and a couple of things on socials
[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? This is now coming out with a sequel and now this is coming
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like Hollywood just go get fucked I can't stand anything that's coming out of Holly. Yeah, this it's ruining
[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Goonies coming over the sea. Yeah
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Come on. I mean really
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Really really really really
[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so that's my second and my third why what the multiple rages?
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, you know what I got lots to rage about don't get me started. I'm gonna get back to you in a minute
[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_03]: So the other thing that made made me rage was when we were at the cinema watching the front room
[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_03]: These ladies that were sitting beside me through the whole movie rather talking on their phone or answering their phone or
[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Talking about other things that aren't the movie like they were talking at the movie through the whole movie
[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_03]: They were in there. I'm gonna say 40s. I don't think they're early 40s late 30s
[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, they're old enough to know better. Yeah, so people I know a
[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Lot of you haven't gone to the movie theaters like we have because you know, that's all we do pretty much with our free time
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_03]: But you know, here's a trick when you go to the movie theaters. You're sitting around other people
[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Not just your friends at home where you can
[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Not even care if you're watching the movie
[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_03]: How they they can watch the movie and talk through the entire movie and understand the whole movie
[00:52:05] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't understand spending $15 on a seat and then not watching the movie. I know it doesn't even make sense
[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_03]: They must be independently wealthy. You know what maybe or maybe
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe they're part of chaos theory that they go to movie theaters to fucking piss me off
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_03]: That's why I go. Oh, yeah. Okay. There you go. That's my fourth
[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Have to wait to the podcast to really piss you off
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Just about burbling bubbling raging cauldron all week anyway, yeah
[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Nice. That's it. That's all I got
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_07]: For three four three or four is the same. It's just a shame. That's all
[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_07]: That's a Genesis song but yes Phil Collins
[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_07]: What do you mean don't like them
[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_07]: I pull Phil Collins off my shelf right now, buddy. It's me
[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_07]: off my shelf too
[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_07]: I like Genesis. I don't like Phil Collins. Yeah, Phil Collins soul stuff is terrible
[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_07]: for the most part
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_07]: I still own it. I own a lot of stuff. I don't like I
[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_07]: Own like like a ridiculous amount of CDs, but very strange
[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_07]: He's got an addiction
[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Got a fever
[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Right the only cure
[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_07]: More cowbell. That's right
[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_07]: All right, so I go to buy my tickets
[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_02]: for uh
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Don't even know. Oh, yeah for the Monday night movies, right?
[00:53:38] [SPEAKER_07]: And I should be able to get a 999 movie cuz I'm part of Cine Club and then the next movie is a different
[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Movie, so I should get a 999. Yeah, I paid 15 for that
[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_07]: But here's the thing so I've got the 999 movie
[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, what do you mean you paid 50 here's why and you should be upset too. I think it was because they overlap
[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Because that because the one finishes after the other one starts did you find this out?
[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, or maybe Dean or 18? No
[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_07]: Was a special feature. No, it wasn't a special feature. Are you sure? Yes
[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Well, if you would have bought that did you buy that ticket first or second? I don't remember about its second
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Maybe yeah
[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_07]: So then I had to use my free movie
[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_07]: To watch Dean or 89 because I wasn't gonna get charged 15. I paid 15 bucks for it
[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_07]: Why didn't you just use your free movie? I don't have three moves
[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_07]: I use them up because I got a bunch of them. You should have bought mine for me
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm waiting for September 17th where I can buy more than one 99 999 ticket at a time here
[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_07]: It comes but anyways, so the 999 ticket
[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_07]: I go to buy another 999 ticket and just because the movie overlaps by a few minutes
[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_07]: It won't let me buy a 999 ticket for the second one
[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Cine Club, I'm hoping that because of the new rule changes that are coming. I think it's September 17th, but I might be wrong
[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_07]: September something middle. It's like last third is September ish. It's maybe the 19th 20th. I don't know details
[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_07]: but anyways, so once again, I
[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Feel like eventually I'm not gonna be annoyed by Cine Club because of what the
[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Stock in the company because the changes is they're telling me you're coming
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_07]: But as of right now, I'm still annoyed cuz I had to use a free movie
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so I had to go to a movie for free because of Cine Club
[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_07]: That sounds terrible. I know it's awful cuz you're an idiot, but now I don't have that free movie anymore
[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Now I almost want to murder you so that all those free tickets you have go to waste
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_03]: That would just be fitting. So if you turn
[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_03]: You know our podcast listeners if Bryce turns up dead, it wasn't me wink wink
[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Just to punish him and his estate for not getting his free tickets
[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_03]: We have like 70 now
[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_07]: There's a bunch of them
[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm gonna use them eventually. I didn't know particular rush
[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you don't wear a helmet when you bike too. So, you know, I do where I do now
[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_07]: I've been wearing it. I've been wearing a helmet once I've been hit by a car mom way more than once
[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah multiple. I've been bit by a car both
[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_07]: I've been hit by a bus once and I've been hit by cars like five times
[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_07]: But I only really injured myself like three of those times getting hit by the bus I got a few scrapes
[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I was fine. That's it. Yeah buses are kind of more cushioned
[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, well, it just kind of bumped me and sent me flying the the cars actually hit me
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_07]: But that's a story for another time. I don't know why we're talking about that
[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That's just another reason show that you're a dummy
[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_07]: But I'm good at falling off my bike. I've never hit my head. Yeah
[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_03]: The only time you haven't gotten a concussion
[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, what now I got a concussion for my dog because for some reason you decide to headbutt me
[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, so as usual Bryce's rage is pretty lame
[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_07]: What are you talking about? It's the worst I had to use my free movie
[00:57:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Six weeks
[00:57:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Wait, I don't have to this is rights itself. It just writes itself how stupid it is
[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's done. All right. Well, I have a follow-up what on your a 24 theory
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_04]: What I found movies that I know at least one of you hates
[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh has put out may not have reduced it but they released it
[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, let's go with bodies bodies bodies
[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_07]: For that a 24 that's a 24 that was I was horrible. I was awful. Yeah, but wait hereditary hereditary
[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, he loves her. I loved it. It was my you hate it. I didn't love it
[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's go with American honey
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_07]: Mondo I will say that these ones were all early on in there
[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I know but those are all real except for bodies bodies bodies
[00:58:04] [SPEAKER_04]: A
[00:58:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that was Mondo that was Mondo for me
[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Come on come on
[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely Mondo in fabric also a rage. Oh my god. It was Mondo super Mondo and the green night
[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Super Mondo just
[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_04]: saying
[00:58:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything yeah everything except for bodies bodies bodies recently, but yeah. Yeah, that one was only a couple years ago
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_06]: I know but that's it
[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_04]: They're batting percentage is their fallible to just saying with bodies bodies bodies, but that's it
[00:58:49] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, yeah, there's probably a 90%
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Drag record of awesome movies. Yeah, but yeah, there's a few I didn't like it all so
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_03]: We are gonna be super busy over the next couple weeks with film festival it's coming up Calgary International Film Fest
[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_03]: So Murrah is gonna find us. I
[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Think yeah, he's gonna find us a dare to watch but we will not be watching it until we get back from the film festival
[00:59:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let's
[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's say well, I even reworked the whole list at a boy you had a few names
[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And across the few off. So yeah recently was Carol Kane and then I found a few Tom Hardy ones nice
[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_04]: One of which was an 824 film nice
[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, apparently sisters brothers came up again
[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_04]: There's like eight people on our list who are all in that movie. Yep. We can't watch it
[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you can't watch it again. No because we can't agree so what I've got
[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Is one with Carol Kane? Yes, and Jeff Goldblum nice a little diddy
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_04]: call
[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Transylvania
[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Six-five
[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_07]: Pennsylvania six five thousand both in it. Hey isn't that big Lee jr. In that
[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I know if we just watching it legal junior movie
[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so it's six two thousand or six now it's
[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Transylvania six five thousand. All right, it would be a comedy. I
[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Really really enjoyed that movie when I was you know ten or whatever when it came out
[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I went through all of her movies and she's a lot of really bad
[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Really bad gotta work and a lot of those actors are on our list nice. Oh good doubted and
[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Repulsive. Oh doubted. She's worked with a lot of those people. She's gonna crush them all no doubt
[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, she's most mesmerizing thing but they're really bad movies
[01:00:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Well when we get back from we get back from
[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Transylvania six five thousand back in Transylvania
[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_03]: We get back from Transylvania from our film festival extravaganza we will be
[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Watching the Carol Kane versus the Jeff Goldblum in Transylvania six five thousand last week on
[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Rage or dare Jim was sent to to be hell when he picked
[01:01:21] [SPEAKER_00]: She devil oh, yeah from the merman's ice creamy to be tastic bucket of rage
[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_00]: This week both Jim and Bryce will get the sheer delight of joining me their god of rage in my
[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Garden of earthly rage. That's right. I refilled my evil bag of remakes boys
[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyone up for a reimagining
[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: All right
[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's find out from Jim exactly what level of hell he had to crawl through to survive both Academy Award winner Meryl Streep and
[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Opposite of Academy Award winner Roseanne Barr in the for lack of a better word film called
[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: She devil
[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_04]: She wants a MME still
[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_03]: She did
[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, let me tell you about comedy she devil
[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Multiple time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep
[01:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: versus
[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Roseanne Barr the Emmy Award winner
[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_03]: In a battle of the Titans of talent TV versus movie Beauty versus Beast or
[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_03]: So the movie wants us to think
[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, here's a clue for you all it was a battle
[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_03]: All right a battle of who is the worst actor in the year?
[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_03]: 1989 and
[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's a toss-up cuz both of both of them were completely
[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Horrible like if anybody on the Academy saw Meryl Streep's performance and she devil
[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: She wouldn't she would be not nominated for anything ever in her entire life
[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_03]: If you only saw one movie with Meryl Streep, and it was she devil you would go
[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: How is this person working past this movie? That's exactly what you would say when you watched it
[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Hmm. I feel like I went to the absolute last circle of hell
[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Actor hell to be exact we got
[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_03]: 1980s mole face comedy because Roseanne has an ugly mole on her face for half the movie
[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, and then I think they forgot she had it I guess cuz the other half she doesn't have one
[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_03]: the man
[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Was that funny?
[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_03]: The first part of the movie she had a mole on her face. It was like right there on her face
[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Comic-gold moles on people. They're funny, right? Like they're hilarious. It's the best. It's like, oh my god
[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm looking at your mole right now
[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Funny right, but it's even bigger than my mole
[01:04:00] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like it's like a super mole super mole super funny moles are funny. I guess yeah, you know
[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I got a point. Let's point out. I don't want to know where those moles are
[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Basically, the movie is Roseanne is the wife of Ed Bagley Jr. Yeah, who's a cheating douchebag
[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: He's everywhere now
[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That's you know, we haven't seen Ed Bagley in years and now he's every movie
[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_03]: We see if it's either Ed Bagley Jr. Or it's Willem Dafoe that count those two in every movie now for the next year
[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Alright, so where was it? Oh, yeah, so
[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Basically, it's Roseanne Barr and she's the wife of Ed Bagley Jr
[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Who is a cheating douchebag who ends up cheating on Roseanne with Meryl Streep in a steamy lovemaking scene except for?
[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Meryl Streep's acting of course
[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And he treats Roseanne like crap and calls her a she devil
[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_03]: See that he called her a she devil
[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so that's the title of the movie because he called her a she devil
[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_03]: That's clever and then but then later in the movie, right?
[01:05:01] [SPEAKER_03]: She does a wink and her eyes turn red meaning that she really is a she I think she might have really
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: She's a super supernatural in this movie. So there's basically supernatural stuff in every movie. We saw this this week maybe
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Except for the front room. Okay. Yeah
[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_03]: So she burns down her house
[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Right that makes made sense and and then
[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Ed Bagley moves in with Meryl Streep and then so Roseanne says, you know what? I don't want my kids anymore
[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_03]: You can have them
[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_03]: So she gives her her kids to the cheating couple does a bunch of stuff to torture the two of them
[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Ends up making friends with okay, and here's where things go a little crazy
[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_03]: The incredible Linda Hunt
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you want to change a movie from being the worst thing that's ever been made and then you add Linda Hunt into it
[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_03]: It completely changes the whole I used to just love Linda. Yeah, how could you not still love this?
[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just literally one of the greatest actors of all times. She's just funny. She is
[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_03]: the best
[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Who also plays a nurse at Meryl Streep's mom's nursing home and they start a business together a bunch of stuff
[01:06:13] [SPEAKER_03]: happens that isn't funny and
[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: At least as funny as seeing a mole on a face, right?
[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Cuz that's funny Bagley ends up going to prison cuz he extorts money from his clients. Everyone wins
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone is happy
[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's almost everyone's happy. I mean everyone in the movie is happy
[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: But everyone who watched the movie not like me I can 100% guarantee that nobody was happy
[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Unless you have an infatuation with moles
[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I can tell you
[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_03]: There was not one funny thing that happened in this entire movie and I mean nothing kidding not one
[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone who may at one time in their career had talent appears to have been
[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_03]: punished by Satan himself
[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_03]: For being in this cuz the only one worth seeing in this and I've already mentioned it is the fabulous Linda Hunt
[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Who's fabulous in everything even if she's only in this in a very small amount of time
[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Whereas everybody else were so completely painstakingly punishingly awful actors and
[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_03]: It was the absolute lowest level of hell that I could be sent to
[01:07:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is a rage a demonic rage
[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_03]: In fact every single one in this except for Linda and especially Meryl Streep where she devils
[01:07:42] [SPEAKER_03]: This is this is so horrible. They're completely horrible. You're welcome. Yeah
[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's got her Roseanne bar and like what her only movie she ever made like I don't know
[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It's so painful. She I saw the trailer and I was horrified by it
[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, she was natural in in Roseanne cuz I think she was just playing her. I never found her funny be honest
[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like the show John Goodman was a lot. I like John goodman characters. I had no problem with the rest of them
[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I just didn't like her. Yeah, it's like Seinfeld. I got no problem with the rest of them
[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I just don't like him. I don't watch the show. Well, he's not an actor. She's not an actor right? So anyway
[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's terrible. All right. We got a pull from the Casey bag of evil remakes
[01:08:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That the full one. This is the full one. I consolidated them all into one day must have been running out then
[01:08:29] [SPEAKER_03]: all right brace when we come back from our
[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Film festival fiasco
[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, we will be watching a Casey classic in pulse from 2006
[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_07]: Pulse is that Chris Evans sounds about sounds about right?
[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_07]: It was um
[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_07]: terrible
[01:08:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Movie I thinking it is is it a remake. I don't think it's a remake though. Oh, no, it's not
[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_07]: What I'm thinking it is never mind from 2006 Kristen Bell 2006
[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think it's a remake. No, there's two of them. There's one 2001 version as well
[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the same story. No, just they're both called the same thing
[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Are you sure it's not a reasonality Casey doesn't normally give us things that are in a remakes
[01:09:25] [SPEAKER_04]: wireless signal
[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let's go Kristen Bell she's awesome
[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Right
[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Like when she talks well
[01:09:41] [SPEAKER_03]: We will be back next week for a regular episode that will be a little shortened because we got to do some
