[00:00:04] It's time to feel the Raaaaage! Welcome to Film Rage where we talk movies, in theaters streaming and classic films as well. Directors and actors beware, as you cannot hide from the rage. My name is Bryson, I'm part of the Film Rage crew, which also includes Jim.

[00:00:28] Hey there Jim. Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey Bryce! And also we have the Merman! That's it? That's all I got. Usually you got more. I'm here if you want. Yeah, what more do you want? He's here. That's all I can ask. Anything more would be greedy. Right.

[00:00:54] So with the introductions out of the way, let's rage on! Well thanks to all of you who have been supporting us, if you love our independent podcast please like, subscribe, share and give us a 5 star rating on your listening platform.

[00:01:08] Or support us in joining the Film Rage community by joining our membership. And buy me a coffee dot com for its last Film Rage YYC.

[00:01:15] If you cannot commit to a membership you can still buy us a movie rental and dare us to see a terrible movie from the past or the future for all I know. There's always a plate in cinemas. That's the only rule now.

[00:01:29] We watch kids movies, we watch conversion films. You know what? If you're in your right mind you'd all dare us to see all the conversion films that we've missed over the years. There's plenty of period pieces too.

[00:01:45] Well, sometimes period pieces are not bad and we may hear something more about that later on. Alright, well enough of that. Let's get to raging! Swimmery swimmery swim! Are you done? I've never done it. Swimmery swimmery swimmery swim! Swimmery! I really hate that.

[00:02:44] Alright, so we saw a bunch of movies. Well you guys did. We did! First on my list here is the fabulous four. Yes! Boy are you! What did they call her? Boy are you! The divine miss him or some shit like that?

[00:03:01] Oh yeah, they did once upon a time. Is that what they called her? I believe she was called that for a bit. And Megan Mulallyu has one of the most annoying voices on the planet. Yes! Really? Hilariously.

[00:03:13] I can't remember the third person. I just know Susan Sarandon's in it too. Susan Sarandon and Cheryl Lee Rowe. That's the other annoying one. What? I was trying to remember what her name was. Look stupid. I'm definitely glad I missed this one. Let's go double rage.

[00:03:30] I don't know if I'm probably wrong about that. Double rage! Double rage! Here we got... Rage times two. Widow, click, quat. Clicois! Widow, clicois. Or as I like to call her, clip, clop. Clico? No, not clico. Clico. Clip, clop, clip, clop. I like clico.

[00:03:51] I've got some clico vision games with her. Period piece and there's some romcom and I think it's about wine. So... It's not a romcom. Jim doesn't like his period pieces too much. So he might have given it a meh. And... Bryce loves this historic shit. Really? Do I?

[00:04:13] I'm gonna say he's gonna give it a mondo. Yeah, you usually do. Really? Yeah, usually because a lot of stuff in the period piece era has nothing going on. And it looks slow and there's a lot of talking. That's usually you. That's usually you.

[00:04:26] Well now that you've put it that way, I can see how... But I don't think that I'm... Historically... I don't think I'm heavy mondo on the period pieces. In period piece film rage history, you are very mondo on period pieces.

[00:04:39] You're gonna have to like it then we do. We are. Really? And of course the last one, the big... Money maker? Two billion dollar box office hit. Dead pool and Wolverine. Dead pool and Wolverine. Which... I'm pretty damn sure... That I'm gonna do this wrong but...

[00:05:03] I'm gonna give you guys the benefit of a doubt. Okay. My jump to conclusions. Alright. Since I saw this with Jim and I remember having a really good time. And I remember him laughing. Okay. I'm hoping he got to a mondo. Okay.

[00:05:18] And you, I pretty much guarantee you hated it. Okay. But I'm hoping maybe there was enough... Just enough... Right? To give it a man. Why would you assume I hate it? Because you hate most superhero movies. I hate most super... You all still like Brian Reynolds.

[00:05:35] I always say it's a superhero movie so it's mad. That's usually what he says. Yeah. Yeah he kind of so. And he's like it's a superhero movie so it's a bleep and ray. Yeah. That's usually me these days. Anyway. There you go. You guys all mixed up man.

[00:05:50] I don't know about that. Nailed it. Probably not but again, don't care. Okay before we start this... I just had a question for you guys. It kind of came up... Kind of came up while... We were watching some of these movies the other night.

[00:06:08] And I thought if you were... A porn star... What would your porn star name be? Umm... I don't know. I'm thinking mine might be little cum dumpster. Ah yes. Yes. What do you think? I believe I heard that before. I believe I've heard that before.

[00:06:31] Oh there you go. Perfect. So you haven't got one thought out yet? I don't know. Jim Smith? Okay. That sounds a little boring. Here comes Jim Smith with his hanging meme. There's only about 10 million of those... In the world. But none that are in porn.

[00:06:49] I think you probably find you're wrong about that. They go by Jim Smith. What about maybe John Smith? John Smith is a more popular name. If they don't want their family to know the real name... John Smith. They might just call themselves Jim Smith.

[00:07:02] No, they're gonna call himself something ridiculous. You never know. Well, if you thought when I get there... I think you should look that up. No, I don't. Oh okay. Well, I just thought little cum dumpster... Would be good. This has what to do with this next movie? Oh!

[00:07:17] It has something to do with what I said. We're not gonna go into why I said it or who I said it about. It's just me. It's just me. It's just me. It reminded me about this movie. This movie.

[00:07:28] Needles to say Murray we missed you on Monday night. We had a significant amount of fun. Yeah, I'm sure. Because I think we were alone in both... Oh no, there was one other guy with clip clop with us. Yes, one guy watched clip clop.

[00:07:43] We had a private screening of the Fabulous Four. Which Bryce is gonna tell us about right now? What's there to say about the Fabulous Four? Tell your little cum dumpster all about it. I think we need to lose that like now.

[00:07:59] Fabulous Four is the latest effort from Susan Sarandon. Bat Midler, Megan Mullally, Shirley Ralph. This is a movie that has a lot of elements of like 3's company. It's very sitcom-y-ish. Except for Megan Mullally says a lot of dirty dirty things. Which helps it out a little bit.

[00:08:23] It's really really quite awful. There's no chemistry between anybody except Megan Mullally and Shirley Ralph. I don't even remember what their names were in the movie. But they had some chemistry and this movie manages to miss the only thing it had going for it.

[00:08:43] Because while they have those two with a lot of exchanges at the beginning of the movie, as you move through the movie there's less and less going on between them. And that was the only thing that was good about this movie. It's Kitty and Alice by the way.

[00:08:56] Kitty and Alice. Sure. As you go into get further and further into the movie, you start seeing Megan Mullally look more and more bored in every scene. Like you literally can see her just bored on screen which is weird

[00:09:10] because she's one of the executive producers so you'd think she'd be putting another one up. She's getting two paycheck. What does she care? But she's just standing there in some scenes just with the plainest face. Maybe she was drunk in those scenes.

[00:09:24] She wasn't doing a lot of drinking. Maybe that was her I'm drunk face. But I can't say that I didn't laugh at in the first 15 minutes. There was probably four or five like not like big laughs like you know for me.

[00:09:39] And then it just kept on getting worse and worse and worse. And we started having these three's company situations where you know she doesn't know that this guy is involved with this with her best friend and she's falling for him but she's he's leading her on

[00:09:56] but he doesn't know he's leading her on and it's just like it was all so stupid how could he not know he was leaving and he was totally into it. Like it seemed I'm watching from the outside. He was into her. Oh yeah.

[00:10:07] He wanted to bang Susan Sarandon for sure. Big time. Yeah. But just ridiculous premise after ridiculous premise. All I remember about this movie really is that Megan Mullally and Shirley Ralf are okay together and Michael Bolton was hilarious because he just stand there like a mannequin.

[00:10:24] I've never seen him perform live but this is what you like this was. He's like a modern day Perry Como. There's just nothing no facial expression. I've got a nickname for him which I'll bring up in a minute. So his scene was hilarious.

[00:10:40] You know what there's like four or five things that made me laugh so hard that I'm like did I hate this movie and the answer is yes. Yes I did hate this movie. It's very poorly written. It has no no cohesiveness whatsoever to it.

[00:10:55] It's just scene after scene where I don't even think there was a script. They have two writers credited with this but I don't think they wrote a script. I think I think 90 percent of this is really bad improv.

[00:11:07] Was it one's name was chat and the other one was GPT. No this chat GPT could write something better than this. That GPT would have put out a far far superior script to what this was.

[00:11:21] See this movie pretty much should have been subtitled old bitties go to Europe which there's been what 10 of those in the last two years. Wherever they were going west whatever. And here's the thing about Key West by way screenwriters were Ann Marie Allison

[00:11:37] and Jenna Milley which I don't think there I don't I think maybe they were there. But I don't think they're they might have wrote a script but that's not what got put on the screen because I was that was 90 percent

[00:11:49] improv I mean it was so awful it was badly and they just and they just kept every like yeah it was bad maybe it was two days of shooting and they just they just kept whatever they had maybe but if you've been to Key West anybody

[00:12:01] that's been to Key West the only thing that's important about Key West is a couple of things and they showed the locations of those number one is chocolate covered key lime pie which they never showed and conk fritters which are everywhere and they're

[00:12:17] disgusting just so everybody knows it's like it's almost like a joke no it's you know what's the conk shell know what a conk shell is the thing that's inside the conk shell is conk and it's like everywhere that yeah

[00:12:29] it tastes like toenails I don't understand the poster either why is why is bet midler like making a touchdown sign she's like going touchdown and then you got Megan Mullally holding up the bouquet like she caught it but she never caught a bouquet this wasn't in the film

[00:12:45] it's just it's just bad film all together well yeah it was awful it was a rage I hated this movie however I mean I can't say that I didn't laugh like in the first 15 minutes and at Michael Bolton not with him at him

[00:13:01] yes so I just want to remind everybody about this because they're the fabulous four and they're supposed to be best friends from their 20s Susan Sarandon is born in 1946 bet midler's been born in 1945 so one year older yeah Megan Mullally was born in 1958

[00:13:25] so they could have been her babysitter Shirley Ralph is born in 1956 so there's no planet on earth like why did they not find other there's other people that act that are similar similar age

[00:13:41] any of those women was also bitty to be honest it would have been nice if they would have replaced both the Brady Runner the wine club let's make them all born in 1956 instead of having these yeah these other two that were terrible

[00:13:53] I'm sorry Susan Sarandon you were not good and bet midler you're bet midler sadly she hasn't been very good no for a long time so can you get this out of the way also Bryce it's not boyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoy. For me this whole movie was BLEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH

[00:14:17] you said about 8 times before the review and when you're talking bet midler how can you not go boyoyoyoyoyoy yeah that would be a opinion of you what the thing is Mary that when we would get so upset watching

[00:14:33] this movie to get us to laugh at each other because again we're the only two in the cinema one of us would shout out boyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoy. But what does get a boyoyoyoyoyoyo is robot Michael Bolton oh man that was the most hilarious

[00:14:53] scene it was so good and you know I had to show Murray today because he doesn't he's not aware of the Michael Bolton Valentine special on Netflix which is probably one of the funniest things Netflix has ever put out really I haven't seen it either

[00:15:09] Oh my god, you've got to see it now because you want to see a whole other side to Michael Bolton all right if this only had Megan Mullally and Cherilee Ralph For an hour and a half. This would have been a masterclass in awesomeness

[00:15:25] They were good together with with Megan's motherfucking hilarity in every single scene that she says something What comes out of her mouth is gold? Cherilee is sheer Fantasque dickness is what I'm gonna call it no matter what Murray thinks of them. That's all I want to say but

[00:15:50] No This as Bryce has already alluded to had a threes company style plot that you can only explain as The most idiotic and convenient story For a set number of characters that seem to always show up just in case

[00:16:11] Someone was getting lost on set or something. I'm not sure how that happened But what made it worse is how absolutely annoying not funny at all And repulsive bet middler is in this through the entire movie

[00:16:25] She is one of the most repulsive things that's ever been on screen and this movie if you don't believe me watch this movie The story is slapped together with no real thought and has two friends Get this Murray two friends who haven't spoken to each other in 58 years

[00:16:42] Because one stole another's boyfriend. They reunite apparently for some reason This was completely horrible Horrible except for Megan and Cherilee. This was a complete rage. I've got a bunch of unpacking There's a scene on this boat where they're parasailing. Oh

[00:17:01] God, I forget. Yeah, I forget about these things. Yeah, I gotta start taking notes that middler and her whole Character, that's another thing that annoyed me Oh, what was with the set cast like they meet like I know that Key West is not a huge place

[00:17:20] But every single place they go they bumped into these Teenager like maybe 20 year olds getting married from the plane. They were terrible. They were terrible too but it was like the things that made this so awful was that like the whole

[00:17:37] Interplay between Susan Sarandon and that middler who are I mean, it's kind of Susan Sarandon story really yeah It's ultimately she's the star She's kind of the main character But none of it fits into the story properly. They're just like Brice said

[00:17:54] I think this was a lot of ad libbed and it was just not And I just I felt so bad for Bruce Greenwood I just like dude. What are you doing? Why why? Yeah, well He picked the wrong. Hey, was I picked the wrong horse?

[00:18:11] Bet on the wrong horse. Oh, I knew something to do with horses. Yeah, he knows about horses Yeah, this was terrible rage Mary you nailed it Michael Bolton was gold Michael Bolton was gold and so is Megan like she was she was

[00:18:31] She was everything but you know what I think I turned to Bryce and The thing that was really missing from this movie was Nathan Lane and the sewer boys that could have pulled this movie out

[00:18:42] If anybody a little bit of gay to make it a little funnier. Yeah, well just just the sewer boys from sewer boys Yeah, let's run the musical What wasn't it bros the musical yeah So good

[00:18:59] All right, so the movie other movie we saw was widow clip-clop no little little clim-clom no no wit widow click-wa Glickle click-wa. It's actually widow clico clico click They even say it in the movie clico. I know but they're British

[00:19:23] Pretending they're French. Yeah. Well, what's up with that first off fine? This period piece bio pic of they didn't sit there and talk with French accents. No, they didn't which was good Yeah, play what you want even though they're in France Yeah, I don't know why the the

[00:19:40] Brits are always wanting to make French movies. I think they're jealous or something. I don't know So this period piece bio pic of widow click-wa click-click clico click-o vision played by Haley Bennett Yes, an interesting structure to it at times

[00:19:58] It it's kind of all over the place jumping around in timeframes both before and after she is becomes a widow on top of that There is a lot of references to mental health and bisexuality and homosexuality open marriages

[00:20:13] But never to quite truly defined although there is not really the story But it adds a layer to the story So they have all these things that are inferences that they kind of throw in very very very very very subtly

[00:20:30] but it gets woven into the story and I don't know I don't think it made it it didn't Destroy the story, but I almost sometimes thought did Do we need it and it did keep me guessing a little bit?

[00:20:44] There are definitely things about this film that make it unique to this genre of bio pic So it's not a traditional bio pic. I felt like the subliminal sounds that come throughout the film like flies

[00:20:56] Like we're watching the movie and all of a sudden you hear these flies and there's not a like it's not like Or and they had other sounds and I and I think

[00:21:06] That it kind of messes with your comfort while you're watching it on top of that the director Thomas Napper Napper Does give us the feels of what 1800s French looked and felt like and did give us a story

[00:21:25] Nicely full of dread I want to say I felt the dread that this film it carried dread through the entire movie Not the time of Napoleon? It was the time of Napoleon you're right Murray so that that Napoleon and his reign is a big part of this film

[00:21:40] Yeah, which which actually plays nicely into the dread because you get the you get the feel of what the people Especially business people thought of Napoleon through this because he really he almost destroyed the French Well, but he you know You see other

[00:21:58] depictions of Napoleon the people loved him But certainly business people didn't love him because he he almost put them out of business Pretty sure the board didn't like me there. Well Well, they didn't cut his head off so that's a chance

[00:22:11] Haley Bennett I think did an amazing job as the lead in this but her husband played by Tom Sturridge mm-hmm I felt was not up to this task like putting her with him. He he was blown out of the water by her talent

[00:22:26] the story like most biopics is Obviously enhanced for the screen and to be honest wasn't the greatest story. I think That her story of being this amazing female entrepreneur and visionary

[00:22:41] Kind of gets overshadowed by the fact the story is a little boring as it comes to the end Also, not sure why the English as I sort of already mentioned are so enthralled in making French movies

[00:22:53] I just kept keep asking myself. Why did the French not want to make this movie? How about that? Let's try for the future to make a French movie About important French people of the past French people by starring French people made by French people

[00:23:08] I'm sure this documentary would have been much more interesting and better than this Although I was a little surprised how much I did really enjoy this after I got through it I Thought more about it. I Kind of liked it. It was a man

[00:23:26] There was enough dread and there was enough It's uniqueness about the film there and there isn't it that's what saves it a little bit, but it's it's so odd that this This movie got made just because

[00:23:42] It's really not that interesting. Yeah, there's not a whole lot like you look at this life and you're like Why are we why are we making a movie about? I know and They tell you at the end at the same time

[00:23:57] I think it was made as well as it possibly could be made Without having you know a real dynamic character to kind of you know focus around cuz She was just someone that married into Money basically No

[00:24:22] Money it was a bit of an arranged marriage actually if she came But she what I can tell from the trailer basically she had she wanted to run the vineyard But because she's a woman that wouldn't let her

[00:24:33] Part of it, but yeah, it's it's kind of one of those movies where it's like I don't Like why would they focus not focus more on some of the stuff that was maybe a little more interesting

[00:24:48] And I don't even know if that would have worked because they did skirt around the homosexuality and they did And the bisexuality and the bisexuality and it's just it was everything was touched upon

[00:24:59] But nothing was explored. Yeah, and even in the business practices and all this other stuff Everything was touched upon but not really explored and it's definitely Haley Bennett's movie Because she's in it the entire time. Yeah while stuff's going on

[00:25:14] Out in the out off of the vineyard. We're only on the vineyard with Haley Bennett Yeah, even though some interesting stuff's going on well away from And I'm thinking what it'd have been better if we did kind of follow

[00:25:33] Whatever Sam Riley's character was I can't remember the name Yeah, the wine the wine merchant would have been more interesting We kind of followed him a little more because he was kind of an interesting character was what a bit more interesting if the The

[00:25:47] Accountant if we kind of followed him a little more. I don't know but I know that not a lot happened No, the story is not that interesting. It's and it's and it's weird because it wasn't that interesting I didn't really learn anything. I did yeah

[00:26:05] Yeah, so so they finished the movie Murray at the very end and you find out that like click click walk and you click oh click oh, please go. That's it. Click oh Climclop. Yes, um is still one of the most powerful

[00:26:25] Vineyards in the world and it's because of her sure so if she hadn't have done what she did Yeah That that why and not only that that she she took her husband's visions because they made him look like he had Schizophrenia either see there's a friend here

[00:26:45] or something and She took that and made this wine that is so good It's international and changed all of the champagne region because up until that point They were using different grapes and she

[00:26:59] Changed them to the Pinot Noir which if you know anything about champagne, which I happen to know I know nothing. No, no are is the grape of of Most sparkling wines because of the complexity of the grape itself

[00:27:12] So those are the type of things that but but it's like a snapshot at the end of the movie It's kind of like oh yeah by the way Here's why it was just in the end credits where before the credits ran they just

[00:27:24] Threw it up on the screen and it's like okay Yeah, but it's funny because it does deceive you a bit to Murray's point. It's not really a love story Yeah Yeah greasy hair leaning over his face all the time

[00:27:44] I just want to slap it out of his nap Well, maybe cuz he was so there's a lot of merchandise to Watch two minutes of the trailer, so that's what it seemed like to me. Well, you know what you nailed it

[00:27:54] It was a man. Yeah, it was it was I I think that I should hate it But I don't yeah the performances were too good Yeah And the flies and the fly like there are some weird things that he just threw in for

[00:28:09] Just to say let's say if this works and you know what kind of did he was hitting thing trying to hit out of the Park and sometimes they hit but yeah, it was it was man I felt okay. So did you feel that that?

[00:28:23] Because the fly sounds and the the weird sounds it kind of throws you off your game Yeah, it was it was it was unnerving in something that really in a scene that really wasn't that unnerving It was like what's going on it brought tension to the movie

[00:28:38] Where you know may or may not have wanted the tension because there is kind of tension the whole time You're wondering is she gonna save this farm? Yeah, and then they should have had Oklahoma where that's on comes right down the plane very strange. It's a strange movie

[00:28:55] But you know what it's not enough that we liked it I was and that's what made it mass because it was just different had a bit of difference to it all right click while Flico click on click o vision Click-o vision. No way that I didn't

[00:29:14] Well, I did you guys were going to see these two movies you went inside I want to see a certain movie a second time Wolverine with another another friend a fourth time no we second

[00:29:25] Oh, okay, cuz I was still looking for my the collector cup with with the topper and still haven't found it I don't know what that means maybe we'll get it on it's this except it has a little Wolverine on top

[00:29:35] Yeah, but they sold out the first night. We were there or what you and I might call the Wolverine but look that that too Hey, you're like you're just lucky. I didn't bring my floating Yeah, I don't know what that means. I left that at home

[00:29:49] You get that one too you got the floating on the other I might go back for that one Cuz I discovered who actually voices that character. Yes my other favorite. Yes. Anyway. Yeah Deadpool versus Wolverine was the big movie

[00:30:05] Versus versus and I don't know whatever they were both in it. They Grab each other's basic story of it Deadpool tries to become an Avenger gets turned down and decides to just sell cars for living

[00:30:20] You know packs away his costume and then of course the time variance authority comes knocking which Anybody who's actually watched that Loki series knows who they are basically they control the timelines and shit So yeah, they he's offered a place in the Marvel cinematic universe

[00:30:38] In the I don't know what they called the prime earth whatever it is the one where the Avengers exist But he has to kill his own world to do it. So he decides instead to recruit a Wolverine problem is Wolverine's dead from that universe from that universe

[00:30:55] So he has to find another one and he finds a lot of interesting ones including one Which is actually life-sized in the comics. Yeah, the smaller overings like five feet to four feet tall

[00:31:04] He's a little guy that was funny. Anyway, so basically recruits Wolverine to save his universe from extinction and hilarious This is what I've written about That's all I've written because I could talk for an hour about awesome this movie is but I won't I'll spare you to

[00:31:29] So you have to tell everybody else when it is Basically, I wrote Deadpool and Wolverine Bondo, which is my conclusion. But yes, I freaking loved it. These are

[00:31:40] Two of my absolute favorite heroes who never got to do a movie. Well, they did one movie together, but it sucked And then they actually invited a third one in who's my other favorite

[00:31:54] Yeah, but they had but the great idea to zip up his mouth so he didn't talk Which is the whole defeats the whole purpose of Deadpool and he didn't have his Deadpool uniform on he was kind of like no

[00:32:07] Had skin remember he had he was like basically they used all like all the other mutants and created one Weapon whatever the hell it was called. Yeah, and it was Deadpool Yeah, but they zipped up they glued his mouth shut and he had like Wolverine claws. Yeah

[00:32:24] Anyway, yeah, it was terrible movie that was one of the worst ones But anyway, so that's where they actually these guys actually met and became friends like 20 years later Whatever it is 15 years later. They did the movie together. Hmm. Oh, yeah, they did a lot of throwbacks to

[00:32:37] Some characters and the originals. I won't give any spoilers way, but you know, oh, I'm giving away spoilers If you watch the OG's Showed up and yeah, as I said three of my four favorite superheroes ever were in it and

[00:32:51] The fourth one showed up too so basically it was what do you call it was like your all-time favorite? It was more than a trifecta. It was better than quadrata. Yeah, there's all four of them were in it So I needed and yeah, it was funny as hell

[00:33:05] And I saw it a second time enjoyed it just as much as second time nice. Yeah, of course. It was a mondo All right. Well Get ready for spoilers Because if you haven't seen this yet, it's only because every seat in your local cinema

[00:33:21] Was bought before you tried to buy one. So Rated our deadpool Finally makes it into the Marvel universe and along the way He brings with him and here's all the spo- some of the spoilers He brought along with him blade gambit dog pool x23 and

[00:33:44] Unfortunately for those of us who watch this Electra and of course flame on bitches This movie is funny as hell and from start to finish is both hilarious and poking fun at Nostalgia and the way that only

[00:34:03] Deadpool can poke fun. I mean you found a Disney too. Yeah, maybe there's there's nothing off the table with Deadpool in this cocaine apparently except the cocaine What would they call it?

[00:34:15] Movie and marching powder there's so much in this unpack and is one of those movies that has So much happening that you almost I felt as I was watching it that I almost needed to see it a couple of times

[00:34:28] And it also helps if you know some of the end jokes Yeah, if you don't you don't really get the reference. Yeah, like for example Wesley Snipes and Ryan Reynolds

[00:34:40] Fucking hated each other when they did blade Trinity. So the fact that he actually got him back for this was like a miracle Yeah, like just shit like that like everybody who is it in the movie was cast for a very specific reason

[00:34:52] Yeah, he's made other movies with you know the reasons then it becomes more apparent in here Yeah, there's a lot of Easter eggs in this totally. Yeah In anticipation of this though

[00:35:01] I rewatched the first two Deadpool and I found I actually enjoyed Deadpool 2 even more than the first time I watched it and Thank God they brought back X-Force, but in particular they brought back Peter Peter Sugar bear sugar bear

[00:35:19] Although I wish Domino also came back cuz she actually was my favorite part of dead point cable was alright, too Yeah, but Cables cable like what are you talking about? He's Thanos This film gives me hope that again for Marvel

[00:35:34] Just please continue to bring back our rated versions of Marvel Like this and of course the best superhero movie ever made which is Logan. I freaking love this movie I had so much fun with you watching it murr. It was Mondo for me, too

[00:35:49] I got some unpacking. I think there is a couple problems. Maybe Bryce will pick them up I'm sure he will let's see what you got to say mr. superheroes movies are meh well, I mean this was

[00:36:01] There was a lot going on in this hot like I yay. I thought they were I Thought there are a lot of characters in that Kevin Costner piece of crap But there the thing is with this one is you're familiar with most of them so It's fine I

[00:36:24] Don't know it just kind of Has no business being as entertaining as it was If you just look at it as a movie and you want to critique it It's it shouldn't work at all because there's too much going on. There's too many characters

[00:36:52] There's too much too much ridiculousness that if you pulled it out of the movie it wouldn't have mattered You put it in the movie while it was entertaining Okay, he really wants to hate it I know I don't want to hate it

[00:37:13] I just I just know that this movie is not as good as The tremendous time I had watching it and I can't deny that it was There was so much laughing. It was so much fun. Yeah, that even though it does have some stuff that

[00:37:34] Is not really conducive to making a good movie Yes, I had such a good time that I can't say anything but Deadpool and Wolverine Was Mondo. Yeah, it's such a fun like it was so much fun

[00:37:51] It's it's funny how you say that because there is things in this That you kind of go okay? Do we need that do we need that but the thing is that you know it'd be funny But I didn't think it would be that serious. Yeah, I mean

[00:38:06] Always pumps a little bit of hard into the dead movies. Yeah That is we just Don't you remember his death scene at the end of Deadpool 2? Yeah, but that was funny No, well, it was also serious because he does die

[00:38:23] But you know cuz so to your point, you know in contrast to this film, right when we talked about The Marvel's Okay, so here's a perfectly good comparison Marvel. No, it's a really good comparison Cuz in the Marvel's okay one of our biggest complaints

[00:38:43] Yes about the Marvel's. Yes was that you have to kind of know the whole universe They it's like they sucked you in well to want problem with everything Marvel No, no, no, but link together now, right? But that but that's what I'm saying that was the big problem

[00:38:58] We have with the Marvel's the Marvel's we hinged on you knowing everything about the Marvel's going Make sure you watch you could go in cold No, I'm telling you Murray you could go into Mary

[00:39:09] Yeah, you could go into this cold not know a thing about any of these characters and you're still gonna fall in love with a lot of them Yeah, and you're gonna enjoy yourself and you're gonna miss a lot of stuff. I'm not saying

[00:39:20] Not saying that you won't no, but at the end of the day you are going to be very entertained Yes, whether you know what goddamn thing about Deadpool and Wolverine No, those two characters everyone knows about the thing I'm referring to is a time variance authority

[00:39:36] If you've never had Disney in your life never watched that show no idea what the hell it even is But there's so much entertaining stuff that it doesn't matter No, but you be confused like who the hell these people nobody do but they kind of explain that

[00:39:51] Enough that you can you can follow it they pulled it from the Marvel's There's stuff in that where if you know you're like Oh, no cuz yeah couple of the captain marvels are actual TV series and they were never on the big 100%

[00:40:04] And that's and that it was just about her be different. That's what makes this one so Good is because like we've said It helps that you know everything Marvel because because true Deadpool is poking fun at everything Marvel And

[00:40:29] Even made fun of the fact that the timeline stuff is Been done is done badly Well, and pretty much like ant-man and everything else is all about the timeline shit Good and in Marvel's been doing that for the last five years the best thing about this movie

[00:40:43] I think was Wesley snipe sums it up There is no other fucking blade That's right Like when he said that in the movie, I mean there's surprises in this like we're not gonna give away all the spoilers

[00:40:55] But there is some spoilers in here that there are some good Stuff in there if you're Canadian. Yeah, of course. I mean, yeah talks about Saskatoon One where the guy says it's like Wolverine's the only good thing to ever come out of Canada

[00:41:12] And he throws his sword at him like you get your country my my country's name out of your mouth Yeah, this this movie is so much fun like and it's it's funny I'm surprised because we saw we saw

[00:41:30] Boy kills world and I think boy kills world had a similar Feel and think to it but because Yeah, I mean it had the same level of over-the-top violence it had the same level of humor within it I just think this one was just put together so much

[00:41:48] Yeah, I mean seeing Ryan Reynolds and and huge Jack man Together was so much fun undeniable chemistry there. Yeah, it's like kind of dog pool Yeah, dog England's ugliest dog she must have sought him out for this role

[00:42:11] Yeah, well, you know what Murray you didn't predict it, but you know why we get glad to be wrong. All right Yeah, I This is one definitely that I would want to go back and see again

[00:42:31] Like I will always see it again. Yeah, I would see a couple more times Is I don't see anything else the next few weeks. I even want to see Yeah, we're still gonna watch them. I'll go back to see get another collector cup Totally

[00:42:45] I'm on a search now. I'm gonna find it Smaller cup and it's got the thing on top the the Deadpool butt plug No, the Wolverine but because I need something to keep my Thor company on the hood and then I need something to take in my butt

[00:42:58] When I come over to your house All right, so We we don't normally do this But There was a special event of screening because in our city and I don't know if his event It was it just in no

[00:43:13] It was it Canada the US or the world or was the world the universe the event of this worldwide So but so that the screening that we watched was going live at the same time everywhere I believe so there was two there was to that day

[00:43:28] Or they like or they like geo blocked that every geo block time had the same time we got to view it No, I think you could have got either one at the times but yeah, so this movie that we watched was called the People's Joker and this film

[00:43:46] Was did play at one of our local film festival. So it did get to play in cinemas here Bryce and I didn't get to see it unfortunately So when we heard that Eventive was putting this on as a special event

[00:43:58] We just said we got to see it. Let's watch it. Yeah, so it's not again. We don't normally do streaming for new releases and This is coming to VOD. I know they told us in the pre-movie about seven times when the new the VOD is coming on it

[00:44:16] Yeah, did you did you want me to go first on this? Yeah So The People's Joker now these are some of the things I liked about this film That their best friend was Penguin Sun and all his fist jokes It's it's a parody of Saturday Night Live

[00:44:39] Where male characters? Become comics based on their penis size the social commentary on society and how cis people Trans gay queer culture is confused basically about everything. So just like Deadpool and Wolverine

[00:44:58] They're poking fun at absolutely everything. There's nothing that is off the table with this film. Yep also it had creative artistic layers and goes from humans to dolls to animation to other types of animation to

[00:45:15] Paper mache to anime to puppets over the place. There's just so much different levels of creative Artistry it it kind of sometimes takes you a little bit out of it the jokes

[00:45:29] They tell for example and I list a few of them out because I couldn't stop laughing this one in particular made me laugh So hard that they called Treblinka their girlfriend's vagina Which is funny because it's inches away from her gas chamber

[00:45:46] And then they had to talk about the fact is that insensitive, but it was it was how they told it balls are always funny and says lines like You know funny like Bill Cosby before the you know and

[00:46:03] Louis CK before you know the stuff or like Woody Allen before all the daughter stuff Like her their act was just Hilarious and it kind of did and they kind of Reference it to it's kind of like Andy Kaufman in the absurdity of their humor

[00:46:24] The comedy is so subversive and clever and quick But at the same time the production values at times are so terrible and basic but it pokes pokes fun at everything and everyone including Even making fun of trans culture as well who they are part of

[00:46:43] Just the right amount of fucked up and insight where half the time I didn't know what was happening or where it was going So I did a lot about this film, but too much downtime between the hilarity And although it's super creative and super fucked up

[00:47:01] Yeah, I didn't feel it was a fully Cohesive story. I really respect and I laughed a ton at this, but it was only a map for me I don't know how you felt interesting. Yeah This is

[00:47:15] One of the more original works that I've seen in a long time. Yeah, I would agree. I would say that It was How do you describe it as you say it is It is genius in its unevenness because and it's really it's all over the place and

[00:47:42] You're either gonna go along for the ride or you're not You're either gonna be extremely like it's not a movie for everyone. No, absolutely not But it should be it should be a movie for everyone And I wish that everyone that watches could recognize the humor in it

[00:47:58] And I'm not sure that everybody now. I know everybody Yeah, you know no one's gonna know If you've got a if you've got a certain way of looking at things You're not gonna be okay with anything just to give it some context this movie screened

[00:48:12] At the end of cuff might have been last year and it was a secret screening So nobody knew what they were getting when they sat down So at the end of the festival they always give you something you didn't know was gonna come up. This was it

[00:48:26] And we had probably close to a dozen people walk out in the middle of it Um other people loved it. But yeah, the little bit that I saw it definitely makes fun of the DC universe Uh, which is I think why this guy is being sued by everybody

[00:48:42] But yeah, I mean if you can take a joke great if you can't then you might not like it Yeah, I think I think most people Would enjoy this I think a lot of people will love this um I really enjoyed it

[00:49:01] Um, the the humor is really funny. It is when it's funny when it's funny. It's really funny. It's It's definitely an independent film. Yes um There are and and its independence takes away from it a little bit I I think I would have liked it more

[00:49:22] Like I I love the The way that it's not super cohesive in in in the way that in its visual style. I thought that was intriguing But I still wish there was a couple more dollars injected into the making of this. Yeah um Everybody in it is

[00:49:40] Spectacular the the the penguin. Oh my god The penguin is so good like he's worth the price of admission alone. Yeah, um, I really really really like this I really did but I

[00:49:54] At the end of the day, I can't give it a mondo just because it's it's not a tremendously made Movie even though there's so much original stuff and so much so much artistic vision and Vera drew I hope gets a few more bucks to make the next movie

[00:50:12] um Yeah, I really really liked it high high high high high high man. Yeah. Yeah. I I feel the same way um The cohesiveness to it I think is part of it like the production values and the cohesiveness

[00:50:29] It doesn't it doesn't tie itself back together well like this because you can keep that whole Creative juices flowing but you have to keep the movie flowing along with that creativeness And I think it kind of falls apart as we get to the end. I kind of felt

[00:50:46] When there was about half an hour left, I'm like, okay, I'm done Right and and then there was another half an hour left and I'm like, okay I don't know how you're gonna end this but however you end it isn't gonna satisfy me to where I was

[00:50:58] Right here at half an hour left in the movie right an hour in you're still like yes. Yes. Yes It's like Okay, yeah, and then and then that's where it stopped there a lot of the humor kind of got out of it at that point

[00:51:11] Yeah, and that's that's true. Um Because yeah, I mean this was only a 92 minute movie and it did seem long Yeah, I did felt long Although there was the short in front of it. There was which was kind of hilarious. No, I

[00:51:25] Yeah, I think I think I don't know if I would suggest everybody see this because I think the to your point Maria It's gonna offend some people but I wish if you if you watch the trailer and you go

[00:51:37] Yeah, I think I need to see this and you need to see it if you watch the trailer like that looks terrible I can't believe that they made it. Well, then you don't want to go to it. Yeah Yeah, it's a good point watch the trailer and then

[00:51:50] If you've got maybe you should anyways I think I think anything that's this artistic it deserves a feeling Oh, absolutely Especially if you want to consider yourself and I hope most of the people who listen to us

[00:52:02] Would consider themselves film people, right? Like we're not normally just talking about superhero movies and crap that Hollywood I'd love to see what they do next. I really would. Yeah, I do too. I think this is let's give them an opportunity and see where they go double man

[00:52:18] How does he were doing that We still reviewed it I guess and it is a new release like we just don't normally do vod's it was just because this was a special Special event and it's worth talking about. Yep All right, what you got

[00:52:42] Your favorite huge jackman movies your clothes At the risk of being taking even more abuse than my love ryan reynolds, you jackman ended bullwool's war I'm gonna talk about my favorite decade the 80s I thought it was the 60s specifically my two favorite things about those 10 magical years

[00:53:05] movies and soundtracks Oh god, the worst soundtrack era of our lives are not I disagree But this is that's why this is my minute These are not in any particular order Just not my opinion, but the general consensus. Okay. We're still gonna throw in a few sounds

[00:53:25] You too. Yeah, we're gonna throw our two senses in but they'll be quick and yes, you may hear the name kenny loggins Oh, yeah, you'll hear it a few times if it's the 80s

[00:53:35] It's the only reason the guy had a career is for some reason. Uh, yeah, we got a movie coming out Kenny can you write us a song of the 80 soundtrack? Yeah, you know, uh, okay The big chill That's a good soundtrack. Well, I have not seen this movie

[00:53:50] You cannot argue with the cast or the unbelievable artists who did the music I started William Hurt, Jo Beth Williams, Jeff Goldblum, Nick Tilly, Tom Beringer and Kevin Klein Yeah, I like that. Good movie, good soundtrack

[00:54:04] So far it's been the great fun. There we go. You can't always get what you want The tracks of my tears. Yeah Good lovin. Yep. My girl. Oh, it's all good man. Bad moon rise. Yeah, all good. This goes on every song

[00:54:18] So far you're bad in a thousand. Hey, it's a thousand right? He's bad in a thousand guys All right. All right, here we go. He's gonna I have a feeling he's gonna talk about top gun. I mean, oh god Flash dance

[00:54:32] Yes, it was a movie about a stripper slash welder and a rom-com at that Still the iran caro theme song won an oscar for best song It featured maniac manhunt. I love rock and roll and two songs by lopplore of ranagin gloria And we have I told you

[00:55:15] Down You're gonna serenade me the whole time, aren't you? Kenny logins was the king of 80s movie soundtrack starting with this one Forgetting for a minute that this film starred the awesome Kevin Bacon Had a great story based on a real town crazy enough to outlaw dancing

[00:55:38] This movie had arguably the best collection of songs ever assembled on one. Oh my god. No Yes, this was one of those ones that what are you talking about? I wish I was part of that church group that burned

[00:55:49] Let's hear what's on it. All I remember is footloose, but what else was there? Let's hear it for the boy Oh, no holding out for a hero Mental health bang your head by quiet ride Almost paradise by kandaz on mike Hurts so good

[00:56:10] Waiting for a girl like you Uh, yeah and two songs. Oh, I've been waiting Including the catchy song. Thank you. I'm free Something for everybody. Well, except maybe brice. Yeah out of that. Let's dance

[00:56:29] I could listen to the quiet riot song. That's it because heavy metal is gonna rock the dead We have dirty dancing Uh, just stop Now the torch Now there's just nobody likes that. This was intentional. Everybody likes it except you two

[00:56:46] Oh god, whether you like the movie or not I actually happened to think it was late patrick swedes. He's best work And I loved roadhouse He even sings one of the songs Yeah, big girls don't cry. Will you love me tomorrow? Do you love me and still tonight?

[00:57:05] All classic 60s tunes With the oscar winning. I had the time of my life. No, that's where we fall off a cliff She's like the wind which is awful air carmen's hungry. Oh my god

[00:57:18] Round out this is just selection if we could eliminate all the 80s songs. We're good Okay, here's one for you Purple rain Darling niki. Yes all disclosure. Yes, Michael Jackson's prince war. I am team Jackson team prince team not to say prince didn't have some good songs

[00:57:44] That's some awesome. But he was the only artist ever turned down my man weird owl For permission to parody his song the only one He did he turned him down Which means I guess he didn't have a sense of later in life though

[00:57:59] I think I think that they he should have reconnected because he should have but he didn't he asked at the wrong time when prince was all He was full of himself. That's the problem

[00:58:08] But prince prince actually had a good sense of humor towards the end of the floor This soundtrack was epic even if I don't like prince as much Uh anything you do much of an actor Plus more estate in the mother bleeping time. Yes

[00:58:21] Let's go crazy when doves cry. Yep. Yep. I would die for you and the title track are all brilliant And the title track darling niki and darling niki master baby with a magazine I never saw it Okay back to the future. Oh

[00:58:40] You know, I was putting this one here. Oh god. Yeah I was 15 years old Just don't mind you just moved to the big city of Lloyd Minster Saskatchewan from my town of 3 000 people Yeah, it was the summertime

[00:58:53] I was about to start grade nine at a new school and I had no friends yet But I had Michael J fox Back to the future soundtrack truly had it all one of the best movie songs ever

[00:59:09] By one of my favorite 80s groups Huey Lewis and the news fellas power of love Back in time back in time Michael Jackson's performance of johnny b. Good. Yeah, he played the guitar

[00:59:19] Uh-huh. And a couple of 50s classics like mr. Sandman and earth angel. Yeah, it's actually not a bad soundtrack So I'm I'm I'm okay with this selection. I can listen to this soundtrack for the sequels Yes, um Okay, here's one you're probably gonna hate. Yep Beverly Hills cop

[00:59:39] I'm trying to remember a song from it. Doot doot. Yeah Yeah, herbie Hancock Nope. Oh no, now you have that tune stuck in your hand. You're welcome. Who's who's that? Axl f by herald fault. Oh fault murray Anchored by songs like new attitude the heat is on

[01:00:00] Bad on dance bad and of course nasty girl bad by princess co-star vanity bad Whatever happened to her Um, I love no town. You're be almost as much as mjf Those two gentlemen were the 80s for me. Yeah, that's an awful sound track

[01:00:18] Truly the sequels weren't that great, but I did enjoy the last one. Nice. It might have been the music And here it is The more I know there's not a good song on that album this movie. No, I hate the soundtrack

[01:00:35] Maybe more than the movie and you know how much I hate the movie again I was 16 and I thought this was the best film ever. I still love it

[01:00:42] Okay, but the songs are not that I flying hits of this soundtrack that made it the most popular soundtrack of 1986 Okay, one of the best selling of all time. It's terrible. So it's just your two opinions

[01:00:56] Danger zone awful take my breath away awful by berlin that won the oscar Heaven in your eyes. Oh god. We know terrible. Yeah, what is with my carol? Harold fault of meyer's theme song. Yeah, terrible the homo erotic playing with the boys

[01:01:11] Yes, just terrible sitting on the dock of the bay Great balls of fire and of course the cheesy you lost that love and feeling Yeah, I couldn't do without that. I love every minute of this dam move. Nice Finally, yeah a special shout out

[01:01:28] To all the soundtracks from the collection of john hughes Okay 30 in pink 16 candles ferris bueller breakfast club I can get on board with a little omd planes trains and automobiles

[01:01:42] Great outdoors uncle buck. That's a worse song, but the sheer number of songs. I love from those films is far All right, thank you Mr. Hugh John hughes had the ability to find he found right music new talent That's what he did funny simple simple minds

[01:02:03] They're their their biggest hit and the only song that people know that they they did and so like the only song they didn't write Yeah, exactly. They didn't even want to do it. They're like really do we have to and the record company said

[01:02:14] Yeah, you have to get the room Yeah, and simple minds is one of my favorite bands of all time They've got some great music. You know, you can't get sons in fascination anywhere anymore. Really? Yeah Thank god All right

[01:02:55] All right my my rage I had like five or six different rages that I was going to do this week That's a lot of rages. Yeah, I had I had a lot of stuff that was raging in my loins this week

[01:03:08] But I'm rage. That's the best kind the best kind That's a rage Line rage makes me Yeah, so my rage this week is Can we please Just not keep bringing back these nostalgia films like

[01:03:30] We we look at this like I don't even know who thought the idea of the fabulous four was a good idea But you know the the fact that they're They that all of hollywood and I've talked about this till I'm Sick of talking about it

[01:03:47] And I'm just like Can we not just do new content? There's been a lot of talk online And and the socials too about The socials. Yeah about New movies that are coming out that are remakes

[01:04:04] There was a movie that was one that was remade just recently that had like it was made in english They remade it a year and a half later I don't remember the name of it and i'm just like this whole thing of nostalgia is making me angry. Hmm

[01:04:20] That's that's my it's you wait for the new running man. It was just because yeah that are that in itself is Is infuriating me but the fact I think is that I absolutely think

[01:04:31] That bet middler is the most repulsive thing I've seen on screen in my entire life If that commits me, I never liked her. Oh, yo, yo, yo, yo No Was she at least decent in beaches?

[01:04:43] Well, that's the thing, you know, brice and I had a conversation. We did have a conversation specifically about this is off topic But yeah, um, so I am going to at one point go back and watch beaches And I have already watched ruthless people. Oh

[01:04:57] Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. All right. Well next week we're gonna add the list in there Wasn't she in that sarah jessica parker thing too? Probably probably focus focus focus Are they not doing another one they did do they did do the learn one too

[01:05:12] Well, the second one was unwatchable. Yeah, but she's in that too, right? Yeah. Yeah, there you go And she was repulsive in that also So yeah, anyway That's my rage. Yeah, no original ideas left. Yeah and Hollywood nostalgia and

[01:05:28] Something about bet metallur. I don't know. I'm tight boy. Oh, yeah It's pretty good. I'm sure. All right. So my rage this week is Life is a mystery Everyone must stand alone I hear you call my name And it feels like Home

[01:06:21] When you call my name, it's like a little prayer. I'm down on my knees I want to take you there in the midnight hour. I can feel your power Just like a prayer. I know i'll take you there

[01:06:38] I can't get that goddamn song out of my head since deadpool That is my rage. Thank you madonna Yeah, that's right. What was your rage? I don't like that song. What what would you like about madonna?

[01:06:52] That song there's a lot of things i don't like about her but i don't know from that song She's the embodiment of female empowerment I'm trying to think of a madonna song that I truly like let me think let me think no there isn't one

[01:07:03] I like true blue I don't like true blue I like them all I love madonna. Yeah, I don't like madonna I think she's I think she's I don't hate anything

[01:07:18] I just don't like any of it like I would not if someone if it was playing on the radio, I would probably change the station I don't know it depends on what song

[01:07:27] Whenever listen to a radio station that played that song maybe borderline. I can listen to borderline There you go. That's a good one You know here's the thing like It's hard for people to identify

[01:07:39] Dick Tracy's so good. It was terrible. It was awful and she was great and Bryce is awful, but you know the thing is is that the best thing she's done is an actress wait. I'm gonna change my rage

[01:07:51] Is it the price because I can get on it's always Bryce I can get on that we're to be perfectly honest your rage every week is me Well, that's my rage every week, but I don't have a segment

[01:08:04] Hey, dude, it's called the merman. No, but but mine comes before yours You should you should well someone finish mine. I'm raging at you about something You know what you should do Marie is you should do your favorite things that make you in the merman minute next week

[01:08:16] To make you rage that make you rage about Yeah, maybe I'll do that All right, you know what? So that was it. You know what? I know I just know I hate that that fact that I can't get that bloody song

[01:08:29] I'm sure glad they put it in the movie. I referred to movie from the side. I literally sang it at work like three times. Nice. There you go. Awesome Now you have to buy the album

[01:08:38] I guess what you're getting for your birthday this year. Somebody else for a change. Adana's greatest hits There you go The immaculate connection collection is that what they call it? Rage Thus Slime Hanger feeding Last week on Rage or dare

[01:09:06] After his complaining ended Bryce finally pulled the 1994 Hillary swank classic the next karate kid From Jim's evil bag of remakes and reimagining say what the fuck Jim? That's my shtick you vying for my job, dude You best check yourself before you wreck yourself pal

[01:09:27] This week Mr. Steely pants gets to choose to rage or dare or choose a real remake or reimagining From his god of rage now Let's check in with Bryce and see if the karate kid thing gets to show real goods of Hillary swank's performances

[01:09:42] Or do we have to wait until she appears and boys don't cry in 1999 or Maybe wait a little longer until she shows up in million dollar baby or is this just a Wax on wax off sort of thing Come on Bryce

[01:10:01] Yeah, we want to wax on or no, sorry. I want to wax off The waxing off is the good stuff right? I don't know all right tell us about the fabulous Hillary swank and her new conversion therapy film acting What So the next karate kid

[01:10:23] Bit of an odd movie Yeah, um, so basically it's about this teenage girl And her she loses her parents and her grandmother Who lives alone with the teenage girl played by Hillary swank she uh her name is julie pierce in this she

[01:10:51] She lives alone with her in this giant mansion, which is kind of awesome Well, but of course, you know, she's a solid teenager And she doesn't and her grandmother doesn't know how to deal with her Okay, because she's she's out trying to

[01:11:08] To uh, uh nurse a hawk back to health Yeah, okay exactly so then The grandmother decides to Go away On a vacation and stay at pat marita's house for sex. What is his name in this? Miyagi always Miyagi right so he she goes and stays at Miyagi's house

[01:11:35] No, no, but that's not the arrangement because Miyagi is going to come to her house And stay with her teenage daughter An adult male. Yeah, gonna go stay with her teenage daughter

[01:11:49] Right and the first thing he does is walk in on her when she's changing. So it's like What is going on? They're in what world do you do you invite this guy? Mr. Miyagi Mr. Miyagi You have to invite Mr. Miyagi To stay with

[01:12:07] Sorry, it's not her teenager teenage granddaughter. She's a girl. Oh, it's even worse me Yeah, so it's like what what? So anyways at at her school there's this weird I guess it's a kind of a junior cadet thing. I don't know what it is

[01:12:24] It's run by Michael Ironside as colonel dugon And basically he just beats the living hell out of these high school students to no ramifications I'm not sure what is jot like he's at the high school He has influence with whatever goes on at the high school

[01:12:41] And he also somehow has influence with the police department because In his in his teaching of these guys, they end up like breaking laws They they light a guy's car on fire

[01:12:55] And there's no ramifications for that because he just tells the police officers don't worry. It's all good and they go Oh, okay. Makes sense. It makes no sense so Anyways back to hillary. Oh by the way, walton goggins and what one of his first roles is in this

[01:13:13] Yeah, he's charlie charlie has about three lines Probably the best thing in the movie Young walton goggins because you go. Hey, isn't that walton goggins? Yeah, it is. It is pretty good. I enjoyed that part But everything else is just really really bad hillary swank as julie pierce

[01:13:36] Apparently learned karate when she was younger with her father Huh? No who Yeah, who's now dead and her father got taught by her grandfather Who was buddies with with meaghi and that's why this situation occurred. That's why he's grand her grandma's

[01:13:56] Grandmother she's like yeah come come stay with my teenage daughter and teach him teacher some stuff so He does the whole wax on wax off thing with her now here's the wax wait he wax off he wax off with her Okay, and he takes her cute. Nice

[01:14:14] He takes her to a like a a monks like They got it like this weird monastery where these monks are hanging out right Is there more waxing off? So now she's now she's in this this monastery with a bunch of older gentlemen

[01:14:35] There's so much waxing off. There's a lot of waxing so so she's there And at the end of the whole thing All these guys have been there for like, you know probably four because they're all old

[01:14:50] They've all been there for at least like 40 years. They've never left this monastery, right? They've never seen a girl. They're probably not So this doesn't sound safe at all. No, she's in a lot of sketchy situations

[01:15:09] So at this monastery Miyagi's teaching her more karate to get her freshened up because you know, she hasn't done the karate in a while Why we're not sure because it's not like the other karate kids where they're like in karate class and it's for you know to

[01:15:23] Go into competition. Isn't it? She did learning it, you know Protect yourself from a bunch of dirty old men. Well, that's part of dirty old men And she is actually being hassled by this dude at the at the high school

[01:15:39] Who's you know, it's a a follower of the of uh of michael ironside's character colonel dugan and But that's not the interesting part of this movie. That's all boring What the interesting part is that they go to this monastery

[01:15:53] Yeah, and in the couple weeks that she's there because oh by the way, she's there because she got suspended Oh Yeah, wait is um um a thurman there too. No, uma thurman's not there

[01:16:04] So she teach they teach her some karate he teaches her some karate, right? And at the end of this two weeks um She makes such an impression on these monks that It's her birthday, right?

[01:16:17] So they make her a cake and bring it out and they make a wish and she blows up candles and she goes my wish Is that you guys will come and stay with me for a while because you showed me such such hospitality

[01:16:31] Well, so they've never left this place ever And they're gonna go and guess what they do They go they go to her place like four of them and hang out So now it's her and four monks and mr. Miyagi all in his house together So there's four five

[01:16:51] And a 13 year old girl Yeah, I think she's like changing in her bed. I think she's like 15. She's like 20. Well. Yeah. No. No, she's like 15 in this She's in high school. She's in like high school. She's might be in like grade 11 maybe so far

[01:17:08] Nothing about this sounds this description is longer than a movie. So anyways at the end At the end she like she like learns some stuff because she had to jump off a rock and do a like a Karate kick and then land on another rock

[01:17:23] And that was the whole deal of the at this monk being at this monastery Is there's these two rocks and she had to like do this weird this karate kick and land it And apparently that

[01:17:35] It's what she did that. It was perfect made it like her karate master. I guess it sounds awesome. So anyways in the end She had to fight in this dude that she was like the tube that was harassing her and she like like kicks his bum

[01:17:48] But then Michael iron side He's like he's like he like calls on walton goggans as charlie and he says charlie Go kick her ass And charlie's like no, I want a datarass. He's like why I know This is wrong and it was

[01:18:07] Huh, so it was a happy ending. So then Miyagi So with all the waxing off there was a happy ending It's what I Miyagi kicks colonel dugans asked Michael iron side cries like a little bitch and then

[01:18:18] That sounds awesome. This was this mom. No, no, this was an awful movie Like it didn't even make sense like i'm describing it. This is how it happened And this isn't a movie How is this a movie?

[01:18:29] This was terrible and everybody in it was awful and michael ironside should be ashamed of himself If he's on our our mesmerized list, it's a crying shame because he is freaking awful in this I need i need him not to be on he's not mesmerizing. He is awful

[01:18:48] Well, that's unfortunate for him Based on our rules. Yeah, whatever rules that you change every week Oh And then I go and then I go blah blah blah and then you go yeah And then for those of you who want to know the actual plot of the movie

[01:19:08] That was the plagi is back and he takes a new pupil under his wing a troubled adolescent girl. That's it end of story That's not what it was exactly what it was

[01:19:18] It sounds like there was a there was way too much dirty old man around at a young girl It was inappropriate to say the least yeah, and it got a four and a half out of 10 All right. Well, well it got a seven percent on the tomato meter

[01:19:30] What I want to tell you is yeah that you can look forward to that and so much more from my bag of rage Because that was the best that was the one I thought you might have got you to amando

[01:19:42] The rest of them are not even going to be close to that one. He's awful. So I will be watching because again brice didn't do his job What's the worst that could happen to? Yep

[01:19:56] What is that what's the worst that could happen to you the first one is an occasion Uh Okay, I don't think I've ever heard of this Will Well, I will be watching what's the worst that can happen to from the year 2000

[01:20:17] And i'm pretty sure it's on tubie. I hope so I'd love to be tubie's my What's the worst that could happen was martin lorenz and danie devido? That was the first one. So there's a two. All right. We watched that one. Didn't we watch?

[01:20:30] What's the worst that could happen? Yeah, I don't think that there's a second one Apparently No I just hope that martin lorenz isn't in it I saw it on tubie. So Sure May just come out this year though What? No, I said it was from the year 2000

[01:20:55] In the year 2000 I don't see of what's the worst that could happen to I don't think this exists I think you saw I think you saw the question mark and thought it was a two It's from the year 2000

[01:21:09] Is it from the year 2000 that's what he's got on here. What's the worst that could happen is from the year 2001 so i'm Ultra confused right now I don't think this movie exists. I thought there was a two. I think it was a question mark murray

[01:21:23] I think you thought a question mark was a two Well, I'll be watching something from the year 2000 ish I think it's 2001 possibly the worst thing that could happen. Have you watched this one? I've seen what's the worst that could happen. I mean as part of the podcast

[01:21:38] No, we have not You know what i'm kind of looking forward to it sounds good. It probably is the first one. It's got martin lorenz So you know what's gonna be good. I wrote it down there because it has martin lorenz

[01:21:47] But it also says john ling was ammo Huh, he's gold john ling was animal is cool and bernie mac. This is a winner We're talking about winner winner. All right It's got larry miller in it everybody like richard schiff. I'm looking for William fichner

[01:22:02] I'm looking forward to this sure. This is going to be the best thing i've ever seen And a gas tires in it nor duns in it A couple more saturday night life of lomniar sounds you're not working anymore fantastic. Well
