Welcome back ragers to the best movie review podcast on the planet. The rage rolls on from the Film Rage Studio.
This week the Film Rage Crew saw three flicks. First they review Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Then they discuss the new Linklater flick that he co-wrote with Glen Powell who is also the star of the film. Was this a match made in heaven or perhaps a match made in the other place. Then they talk about Babes that they seem to agree is one of the best comedies in recent memory. From there Maggie Smith goes head to head with Daniel Day Lewis in a mesmerized off. Then the boys decide if Glen Powell deserves to be on the repulsive list. And finally in the Rage or Dare segment Bryce reviews a film that nobody has ever heard of, that stars nobody that anyone has ever heard of. So much rage on display in this, our 250th episode.

[00:01:41] terrible terrible film
[00:01:43] And we'll watch it played anywhere in the world in a cinema and it's not a kids movie
[00:01:49] intentionally kids movie like if
[00:01:51] Nothing like if not a kid is not a kids movie
[00:01:54] I beg to differ well because you haven't seen it you've got nothing to say right maybe I have now let's get to rage
[00:02:04] And it's a kid's totally not a kids movie the kiddiest movie I've ever seen never
[00:02:09] Not in one. Yeah, I was gonna go see Garfield then which also came out this week. Hmm. That's pretty kitty
[00:02:15] pretty
[00:02:17] It's animated
[00:02:20] Don't do animated that's my that's my my my share pretty kiddies in my day. Yeah me too. Oh
[00:02:50] I gotta tell you
[00:02:52] I was on team Murray for the longest time with this song
[00:02:56] But it's growing on you picked it
[00:02:59] No, I'm talking about the whole package with the gym lyrics and the whole deal
[00:03:03] I'm I still hate it. I think I'm on team Jim now
[00:03:13] So yeah
[00:03:15] Jim and I went to see Furiosa
[00:03:17] Furiosa I don't know AVX laser ultra some shit like that whatever
[00:03:22] Potato potato and I think we sat too close even though we were in like the third row or the aisle was I think
[00:03:27] We should have went back couple of rows
[00:03:31] It was a neat it was a huge screen very big screen. I don't like staring up at a screen, but anyway
[00:03:39] Furiosa I enjoyed some of it I
[00:03:44] Think Bryce probably didn't
[00:03:47] Action and the lack of any kind of a plot. Oh, there's there's not a lot of flies
[00:03:53] Do you Christ maybe raged on that one Wow?
[00:03:56] And I think Jim
[00:03:59] Because I know he likes to enjoy himself might have enjoyed it a little
[00:04:03] to a man
[00:04:06] Interesting very interesting next one hit man, which I'm now regretting after talking to you guys
[00:04:12] Okay, I thought you gave it a man I don't think he was even that good so
[00:04:16] Yeah, we did we did kind of talk a little bit for the podcast
[00:04:19] It might give an indication of what we thought of it might be wrong on that
[00:04:23] But you know you might be right you might be right you may be right you crazy
[00:04:28] But it might just might be a lunatic you're looking for right now. We got that one
[00:04:32] I know there we go Billy Joel most times you you sing stuff
[00:04:37] But you should join in then anyway the last one babes which I did say like 10 minutes out about the festival
[00:04:46] It looked freaking weird and I'm guessing those two the comedy troupe were actually supposed to be funny in parts, okay?
[00:04:53] So I think you guys might have loved that one. Let's go double mondo. You realize we typically don't like comedies
[00:04:59] I know but this is a weird one. I know what I'm digging what you're laying down Murray
[00:05:03] Let's see how you do and it was a cuff film. It was a cuff film that you can see that's correct true
[00:05:10] You know this music of all of our music is definitely prance tastic
[00:05:21] People could definitely prance I kind of like the streaming music we don't play anymore. It's good. That was a good
[00:05:27] We'll play it again somebody back for something else though
[00:05:30] You know what there's always a future pandemic on the horizon exactly and so you know
[00:05:35] We will be a completely streaming podcast well be locked in our rooms under a blanket at some point
[00:05:43] Fearing that we're gonna catch the next deadly whatever will it be furiosi
[00:05:48] Furiosi
[00:05:50] Anyways am I I don't even I don't have a gender clue is that what we're doing
[00:05:56] Oh, I'm talking first
[00:06:00] Should I explain it to you
[00:06:03] Honestly, I got a few things jotted down here
[00:06:05] You guys could try to probably fill in the blanks for me, but here's what I thought of Furiosa
[00:06:11] It was like Fury Road
[00:06:13] But less amplified every character every set piece every automobile chase
[00:06:17] And even the story was just a lesser version of Fury Road and you Taylor Joy did nicely as the younger
[00:06:24] Furiosa Liam Hemsworth was good as whatever his name was what was his name?
[00:06:30] Who's Liam?
[00:06:33] Chris Hemsworth
[00:06:36] Was Dementis Dementus did I say Liam Hemsworth said Liam?
[00:06:41] That's funny games. Yeah, whatever blonde and what brunette they're all
[00:06:47] Chris Liam, what's the other one Luke Luke is the older one?
[00:06:53] Luke's the older one okay, who's Thor Thor is Chris okay? Who's in this famous to Chris?
[00:07:01] Wasn't this Liam no no I'm the one that was in like that war movie that we watched with
[00:07:09] Russell Crowe
[00:07:10] Sure wasn't he in this no this was Chris. Yeah, this was Thor this was Thor
[00:07:17] Oh, I think you're wrong. I gotta look this up
[00:07:20] No, it's it's 100%
[00:07:23] Yeah, because Murray knows every Hemsworth are you serious this was Chris Hemsworth
[00:07:28] Well he was way too good to be Chris Hemsworth
[00:07:36] Words hurt Bryce words hurt her to Chris Hemsworth me. I'm a huge Hemsworth anyways that aside
[00:07:44] The grand vision of Fury Road with its larger-than-life explosions of color and sound was not matched by this prequel
[00:07:53] Still I had
[00:07:54] Not had fury wrote if I didn't have fury wrote to compare to this
[00:07:59] I probably would have enjoyed it a little more, but as it stands Furiosa was a man. I don't know it was fine
[00:08:04] I didn't hate it and
[00:08:08] I'd never watch it again. I might watch fury wrote again
[00:08:12] Well, I happen to watch both of them in a very short period of time
[00:08:17] well, then you probably like this even less I'm guessing there is
[00:08:22] Possibly some truth to that well, let's find out so Miller bill it Jim Miller has a way of creating amazing
[00:08:31] wasteland
[00:08:32] scenescapes
[00:08:33] Cinematography and battle scenes in a way that are particularly spectacular
[00:08:38] But what he doesn't do is often use time and space correctly science correctly and in particular
[00:08:46] Put attention to detail of a dystopian future that was fun to be a part of yeah, that's
[00:08:53] inconsequential detail Miller
[00:08:56] detail in a lot of things important as
[00:09:01] opposed to shoot him up stuff and
[00:09:04] Drivey stuff like there was so much detail in the drivey in the shooty that he didn't have any space in this fucking
[00:09:12] Felt like seven-hour movie
[00:09:15] To put in actual accuracy of things that are happening and more on that later
[00:09:20] You guys think I was kidding about the Chris thing, but I really wasn't I thought it was Liam
[00:09:28] All right, okay so on top of that
[00:09:31] It was so long and ended up taking way too much time to get to our quote-unquote justice
[00:09:38] Plus they basically make the bad guy from the first plot first film the good guy
[00:09:45] And I'm just like what?
[00:09:47] Hmm he wasn't good at all. Why would they even kind of hint that he was good the action is great
[00:09:53] Chris Hemsworth is always fun as a bad guy and
[00:09:58] It was basically really good in this he was very good in this yeah, I can't believe it was him
[00:10:04] Apparently you don't recognize him in a lot of movies
[00:10:09] You've been mixing up the Hemsworth's Baron perhaps you need to look that up before you go to see a movie next time
[00:10:15] Yeah, I think that they say it was Chris, but it was actually Liam with the
[00:10:21] Skinnier they're not twins. Oh, we can beef up for a roll
[00:10:25] Can you grow about six inches too because yeah, he's a lot sure
[00:10:30] Camera angles he's basically a little he's basically a little person. He's not a little person
[00:10:35] There's no way okay, I'm at Chris Hemsworth is okay. Well you're you look at a talk
[00:10:39] I'm looking up how tall these two wieners are look up all three while you're at it
[00:10:44] I don't even know there was a third apparently all three of them are important to our listeners right now
[00:10:49] Yes, and Luke was in a Thor movie so anyway what I was saying was
[00:10:53] Basically one note through the entire film
[00:10:56] Which is all that's needed in this role
[00:11:00] Or should you know and a Taylor joy? I didn't feel was amazing in this
[00:11:06] Show me head as our avenging dark angel
[00:11:10] Yeah, there's way too much development of a story
[00:11:12] I personally didn't care about and when you do prequels try and make the actors look the same and don't use
[00:11:20] A stripe to try and fit that into place
[00:11:24] You know what if we just put a stripe on their faces everybody will think they're the same person
[00:11:28] That's exactly what they did you know what we got to put a stripe there
[00:11:32] That that'll make everybody think they look like the exact same person because they didn't look anything alike
[00:11:37] Plus, I don't know how old because the movie Mad Max Fury Road is like 10 years old now, so
[00:11:45] What's her face?
[00:11:46] Serice Theron was probably the same age as Anna Taylor Joy was when they made it, so it's just not good just don't
[00:11:54] I've almost would have preferred it was CGI, but I do like Anna Taylor Joy, so it didn't annoy me that much
[00:12:02] Where was I yeah
[00:12:06] He's not paying attention yeah, it's that
[00:12:08] It's way too long and I admit I got bored in the middle
[00:12:12] So it's a man, but I got lots to unpack, but we want to hear what Murr has to say
[00:12:18] Okay well
[00:12:19] Putting aside the fact that I didn't see any of the Mel Gibson Mad Max movies
[00:12:25] And I thought Fury Road was just okay
[00:12:30] This was kind of a fun ride with a lot of plot issues
[00:12:34] And it was about 30 minutes too long
[00:12:37] I
[00:12:39] Would go with 45 minutes there was well two and a half hours in the last half hour was one scene
[00:12:46] So I'm in the desert. I'm like I'll like get on with it
[00:12:49] Just frickin get over with don't like talk about it for half hour. Let's get to um
[00:12:54] There was definitely plenty of action and all its glorious spectacle
[00:12:59] There were hot rods big wheels diggers bikes of all shapes and sizes
[00:13:05] Flying contraptions weaponry galore and mucho violence
[00:13:11] explosions bodies flying etc
[00:13:15] It was a decent cast but definitely too many characters with complicated with it complicated things
[00:13:22] My favorite characters besides the two big ones
[00:13:26] Rick this erectus nice and scrotus nice they were brothers
[00:13:31] Makes me laugh just thinking of those it's almost like biggest dickus made in a yeah
[00:13:35] That was I believe the sons of the bad guy from the last one do any of you have a problem with my friend?
[00:13:42] biggest
[00:13:43] dickus
[00:13:46] Yeah
[00:13:47] Anya Taylor joy is good as for Yosa and Hemsworth is just hella fun as Dementis
[00:13:54] Really letting his evil flag fly
[00:13:57] His huge physical presence is absurd speeches his villainy is awesome
[00:14:03] Like I said, I had issues with some of the plot. Mm-hmm like Dementis and his monster tow truck
[00:14:09] That seemed to defy gravity and be faster than any fighter jet to catch anybody
[00:14:14] He's chasing and withstand any explosion. Yep
[00:14:19] There are others but I won't give away too many secrets because it is a fun ride
[00:14:23] I would recommend skipping the last 20 minutes because the last act of the film really slows down and is not necessary
[00:14:31] Much as I love me some Chris Hemsworth
[00:14:35] He and Anya were the best part of the film the rest
[00:14:39] Not so much just a man. All right, so okay, you know what that wait hit the button
[00:14:46] All right for the record, yeah Chris Hemsworth is six foot three inches
[00:14:53] Yes, and Liam's hem Liam Hemsworth is six foot three and a quarter inches. He's actually taller
[00:15:00] That's what I said
[00:15:02] See again you weren't even listening
[00:15:04] You just
[00:15:06] No, cuz I seen a picture of them side by side and Hemsworth
[00:15:08] Yeah, and the other one's the midget but you're making out why they couldn't be
[00:15:12] No, but the other one is older, but he's shorter
[00:15:16] Older but he's shorter because I see that photo with all three of them together
[00:15:21] One of them was wearing lifts. That's what I think
[00:15:23] Well, all I know is that I'm pretty sure that that was Liam Hemsworth because the performance was too good
[00:15:28] There you go. Awesome. You know what if if Liam Hemsworth plays sorry now
[00:15:34] You got me saying it if Chris Hemsworth plays a villain. I think he nails it every time. Yep
[00:15:40] I'm so here's some of the issues that I wanted to unpack
[00:15:43] When Hemsworth and his army of motorcycles ride for what seems like days
[00:15:49] With no gas resources whatsoever to get to the citadel
[00:15:54] Yeah, it's just it's beyond stupid in post-apocalyptic
[00:15:59] World Jim you don't use as much gas. I think you do
[00:16:03] I think you use more especially because they've got it cranked up and they've they got so much torque going on in those
[00:16:11] It was it was totally annoying me
[00:16:13] I'm like could you at least put a little bit could could you've just put an effort that they were driving around
[00:16:18] With them a gas. Well, you weren't following them the whole time
[00:16:22] So maybe they were walking their bikes for part of it
[00:16:24] We only saw it when they were right they walked it for well every time we saw them
[00:16:28] They were riding so unless there's like 17 other hours because this movie was like sad
[00:16:33] Oh, yeah, then walking their bikes as I say Liam Hemsworth's performance was worth watching all by itself
[00:16:40] So and on top of that
[00:16:45] Are you ready for this? I'm ready. I
[00:16:48] Still can't believe they try to make Anna Taylor joy look like Charlize Theron. They just didn't work for me
[00:16:54] I didn't see that I didn't I thought that I by the way
[00:16:57] I thought I didn't I didn't see them trying to make her look like it
[00:17:00] But I think she actually did sort of look like a younger like this was very good casting and I went is not
[00:17:07] Oh, yeah. No, I was totally good cast
[00:17:09] No, oh 100% no
[00:17:12] Like Hannah Taylor joy it was who else could you have put in that role and have them pull it off any better?
[00:17:18] Just put Charlize Theron back in it. Oh what and rubberize her face or
[00:17:24] Hey because we've seen what that happens. Yeah Irishman Jim
[00:17:27] Yeah, or any Harris's Ford be an idiot the stuff you hate. Yeah do the stuff that I absolutely hate
[00:17:34] Let's go younger with CGI
[00:17:37] They still used AI and CGI in this movie, yeah, they did the opposite way. Yeah, but they
[00:17:42] The opposite way you didn't hear that story because I heard it from her lips
[00:17:47] Okay interviews or the girl who played the younger her yeah, and Anya Taylor. Yeah, they combined the two faces
[00:17:56] Scramble them up in a computer and they slowly aged her through the movie
[00:18:01] Oh
[00:18:04] It looked good so with the very start of the movie when it's just a little girl
[00:18:08] Yeah, it's still like half Anya Taylor joy
[00:18:11] Like it's not even like 10%
[00:18:12] It's like almost half okay, then as she gets old good. It was more Anya
[00:18:17] So basically they do better jobs in score season so they still use AI well score
[00:18:22] Say he was like few years ago. He's a half too
[00:18:24] So I know I think Charlize could have could have pulled it off
[00:18:27] But you would add the age or a couple ten years yeah plus yeah
[00:18:32] This this goes back to the action. It was good casting
[00:18:37] No, I like her I didn't like the casting that's what I'm gonna say who are you gonna put in it?
[00:18:42] I don't know don't put anybody how about not make it that was a good idea
[00:18:45] How about don't make it in the first place?
[00:18:47] You are making it though who are you gonna put in the role who could have done it better nobody just don't call it
[00:18:52] Furiosa hey, let's move on cuz you obviously have nothing intelligent to say well
[00:18:56] I just said I don't think the movie should have been made yeah, and I got that
[00:19:00] Did get made and we're talking about
[00:19:03] Just further just for the record I really watched
[00:19:07] Fury Road which was excellent. It was very good. I liked it a lot. I like this a little less
[00:19:14] So I did your raid more than there. Oh, there's a two-hour class car chase
[00:19:19] That's all it was Fury Road if you would have watched it in IMAX
[00:19:23] Yeah, would have been a different experience
[00:19:25] I watched it in IMAX originally I know and that's why you probably loved it originally and now it's just okay
[00:19:30] I liked it a lot when I saw it. I just liked it. Okay. Yeah, whatever
[00:19:35] You should rewatch it cuz you know the best person in that is holds his character
[00:19:40] Yeah, I was gonna say Nicholas Holt was the best part. Yeah, Nicholas Holt was excellent in it
[00:19:44] I remember it's totally Greg's I remember
[00:19:46] I
[00:19:49] Know
[00:19:52] I
[00:20:02] Was part of the CGI team who knows
[00:20:06] So we went saw this movie called hit man. Oh, is that what we're talking about next? Yes hit man
[00:20:15] Yes hit man, so
[00:20:18] This link later and sadly not referring to my favorite wrestler of all time. Who's that?
[00:20:24] Somebody the hitman hard hit Oh Brett Hart the excellence of execution. I'm right him. I would see in a movie
[00:20:31] Really maybe 20 years ago. Yeah, he was in bunch of TV
[00:20:34] He was in Blonesome Dove or something wasn't he? Of course whatever was shot in Calgary probably was in
[00:20:40] Was that what it was is that a TV series?
[00:20:42] You just pick you now you're just randomly she was in Lonesome Dove sure he was I visited the set
[00:20:49] I know where the set is. So yeah, it was shot in Calgary. Yeah, so there you go
[00:20:53] So he played a cowboy. Here's my thing. This is a different hit man
[00:20:56] Here's my thing on wrestlers. The only good acting wrestler is Andre the giant from the princess bride
[00:21:01] Hey, was that all the rest is young and seen at his credit?
[00:21:04] What's hey don't forget about his love don't forget his role as a Sasquatch or whatever and the Hulk?
[00:21:10] Yeah, that's right. That's right. My my favorite my favorite thing about the six million dollar man
[00:21:16] yeah, all right, so this is a romance story dressed up as a
[00:21:21] What we call this price?
[00:21:25] Yeah, that's right. It's you this is
[00:21:31] It's the most boring two-hour movie that's ever been made this was not clever in any way
[00:21:38] Where everything was transparent and did I mention it was fucking boring?
[00:21:44] It was my god. It was horribly boring but worse than that
[00:21:48] It was also in addition to being not being boring. It was also not interesting
[00:21:54] Oh or that's a good mind thing over mine altering
[00:21:58] Yeah, I think I actually lost some brain cells watching this movie
[00:22:02] Well, I was gonna just list down every
[00:22:05] Synonym synonym cinnamon
[00:22:08] every cinnamon every cinnamon of boring
[00:22:12] But I got I got bored of writing sin no nim I got bored writing down
[00:22:17] Simmon Simmon, yeah exactly some cinnamon don't hurt yourself Jim
[00:22:24] Okay, so where was I get oh yeah you want to know the plot
[00:22:28] Watch the trailer and you will see what happens in the trailer is exactly what happens in the entire movie
[00:22:34] but only over two hours of severely and
[00:22:38] excruciatingly boring story
[00:22:41] That I have barely survived after two hours
[00:22:44] Yeah, the only good part in this is when Gary aka Ron played by Glenn Powell
[00:22:51] Glenn Powell who also Murray co-wrote it
[00:22:54] Yeah dressed up dressed up as one of his hit man
[00:22:57] And I'm putting that in quote as a cross between Andy Warhol and Tilda Swinton
[00:23:04] Well, did I mention this was a biopic that didn't anything for me but except most of it had nothing to do with the original guy
[00:23:14] and
[00:23:15] Yet they talked about him at the end like
[00:23:17] They basically said that the only thing that was truth about this movie was that he was a hit man for hire
[00:23:25] Other than that the entire story was just written by
[00:23:29] Powell and link later and it's just did I mention it was so boring you did
[00:23:34] Times
[00:23:36] This was terrible. This was a complete snoozefest of a movie
[00:23:40] Mm-hmm, and I think the guy who they were playing as whatever his name was
[00:23:46] Ron Gary Gary
[00:23:48] John Gary Johnson
[00:23:50] And I think Gary Johnson would roll over in his grave if they knew that he felt they
[00:23:55] Fucked him up with this terrible shit storm of a bar for 100% Oh by the way, it's a rage
[00:24:01] This movie is awful
[00:24:03] Hitman is
[00:24:06] The blandest movie I've ever seen
[00:24:09] It is a mayonnaise sandwich on white bread bland. It is an unsalted
[00:24:14] Salty cracker bland it takes no chances misfires on every attempt at comedy
[00:24:20] Except once I remember laughing once but I don't remember what I found funny and it wasn't the same thing
[00:24:26] Okay, so there was two things that were funny. Well once one thing for you one thing for me
[00:24:30] Maybe somebody will find them both funny. So someone out there might laugh twice
[00:24:35] Richard link later and actor Glenn Powell should never team up ever again for anything and they should never
[00:24:44] ever ever
[00:24:45] Corrite anything together again if this is the uninspired tripe they come up with
[00:24:50] Apparently this is based on an actual dude whose life I guarantee was more interesting than this convoluted
[00:24:56] Hollywoodized version link later and Powell have presented us I hated this
[00:25:02] This was a rage like an unbelievable like it's just it's just a nothing like I am just
[00:25:09] Baffled that there are people out there that actually like this movie. It is God
[00:25:13] Awful when we walked out of the theater. Oh, by the way
[00:25:23] When we walked out of the theater, I said I've got to find out what IMDB
[00:25:27] Viewers thought of this movie. Yeah, I don't know what it has now and haven't put my rating in yet, but it has 7.5
[00:25:35] I'm like who the fuck would give this anything more than one? Well
[00:25:39] Did you say you haven't put yours in I thought maybe if you had then it's gone down to 7.4 now
[00:25:45] But you're saying you have it. No. Okay. Well while we're waiting on this. Yeah, I'm gonna do that right now
[00:25:50] There you go. Let's get it down Jim
[00:25:53] Gotta get that down. We don't want people to see this movie
[00:25:57] Yeah, the other thing that is this is just goes to show that man
[00:26:01] We're getting to the point where like why on earth was this premiered at Sundance?
[00:26:06] Like what is going on? What is going on with I mean and you know, like I
[00:26:13] Just like these two first teamed up with
[00:26:16] Nice
[00:26:17] It dropped to 7.4. Well, no it was already 7.4
[00:26:21] So I haven't moved it an inch I put it as a one man should move it some way
[00:26:27] There's 27 this was so bad that I wish these two idiots never never met
[00:26:32] I wish they never made everybody want some together because that's where they had some sort of connection and said oh we gotta
[00:26:38] We gotta work together again someday. You know, let's write something together
[00:26:42] It'll be great and then Powell's career actually took off which I'm still baffled by why all of a sudden Glenn
[00:26:50] Powell is like he's in it fucking every thank you Murray
[00:26:54] It's like he is like I hadn't seen the trailer for tall my also
[00:26:59] He's in every and it's just like I don't get it. I don't know why Hollywood's trying to prop this guy up
[00:27:04] I don't know sense what is boring guy out there and he's in every freaking movie. He's got nothing going on
[00:27:10] I'm tired of him already. Yep. Well, you know me both mister
[00:27:13] You know what?
[00:27:14] I can't speak for all the ladies but seeing as how none of us well
[00:27:18] I still I still know how to throw a few good looks for a good-looking man
[00:27:22] But I know I don't he has no movement in my force. I can tell you that. Well, that's the whole thing
[00:27:27] He's a pretty boy. I don't know anyways
[00:27:32] To us yeah. Yeah. Well, he has no personality. He's boring. It was you know
[00:27:37] What the worst thing is is this bloody things coming out on Netflix and like a week and we didn't have to go see
[00:27:44] Could have just pass we could have went and saw that conversion film with that doctor. Yeah, we could
[00:27:52] Could it have been worse than this I don't know probably
[00:27:55] Which has Snoop Dogg as a cat I I definitely know that this converted me
[00:28:02] Against link like you know what Snoop Dogg is a cat probably would have been more entertaining than this
[00:28:06] Maybe I should have gone we should have gone and seen Garfield apparently we should
[00:28:10] Whatever let's not talk about this movie and it's garbage it's baby. Yeah, that's not the popular opinion
[00:28:16] Which is baffling to me what is wrong with you people? That's right people listen to us
[00:28:22] I don't think would have given that a 7.4. I hope not
[00:28:26] All right. What else did we see we saw babes?
[00:28:29] Babes not babes in Toyland. I'll keep it short and sweet not the babe. Yeah babes
[00:28:36] pig in the city
[00:28:39] Babes pigs in the now now did he play for the Yankees?
[00:28:47] babes
[00:28:48] babes is one of the
[00:28:52] Funniest films of the last few years all the humor landed and its talented cast were absolutely top-notch
[00:28:58] even with the little cameos that we had as well from
[00:29:04] You'll hear later I talk about okay from all the people that Jim's gonna talk about later
[00:29:09] Viewing it through male eyes. I may have not experienced the humor in the same way as
[00:29:13] As a lady might but this movie goes to show you that funny is funny
[00:29:19] And this was comedy done right it is in your face
[00:29:24] Antagonistic at times it had me laughing out loud through most of the film and then we get a
[00:29:32] Sappy Hollywood ending which makes babes mad
[00:29:35] All right there you go with your
[00:29:37] Terrible review system your left turn yeah his left turn and ending is so saccharine
[00:29:43] It just made me want to puke. It's it's it was I was totally expecting it
[00:29:48] So it didn't bother me in the least but here's what I thought of but it was very very very funny babes
[00:29:55] This is a story of two best friends yes who are very close so close
[00:30:01] They are fine showing each other their yawning vaginas yes to each other in restaurants or taking showers
[00:30:09] It's about everything disgusting about being a mother like dripping pussies and milk that just squirts out
[00:30:16] All of a sudden while you were on mushrooms just after your tits talk to you obviously
[00:30:21] Wow if you're on mushrooms, yeah, yeah exactly basically
[00:30:24] It's Bryce, and I if we were women 20 years ago got pregnant and had babies
[00:30:30] Within a year of each other oh
[00:30:33] And we also lived in New York City which this film the only place on the planet this movie could be made is
[00:30:39] New York City
[00:30:41] Like the characters are all super super super super New York. They're very New York
[00:30:48] You really get a feel all the way through this the love these two best friends have and the humor is over-the-top
[00:30:55] Non-stop and hilarious yes every one of the actors were outstanding
[00:30:59] Yes, and the cameos were super outstanding John Carroll Lynch. Yes with his hairstyles and
[00:31:06] Sandra Bernhardt yeah her serial killer
[00:31:10] Dentist theories and Oliver Platt Oliver Platt with his terrible parenting skills so good this is mostly
[00:31:18] Man this was a good movie. Yeah, it was great movie
[00:31:22] This is mostly a comedy be white cuff picked it Bryce
[00:31:25] Yeah, this is mostly a comedy that is funny as fuck
[00:31:29] But also yeah a tender story of finding your chosen family yes being there for each other
[00:31:35] Through the good times and the bad all right. I absolutely love this film
[00:31:39] I have never ever laughed as much as I have at two women
[00:31:46] Talking about all the disgusting things that happen to pregnant women
[00:31:49] And I've seen a lot of things about pregnant women
[00:31:53] In my history it was so so enjoyable. Yeah, it was a hilarious two vaginas Mondo
[00:32:00] Well actually it was one vagina coming out of another vagina. Yes, but who's counting yes
[00:32:07] And I have one thing to unpack all right is it?
[00:32:11] Shitting on your baby or babying on your shit. I think you just babied on your
[00:32:18] Poop
[00:32:19] Yes
[00:32:21] That line was so freaking awesome I
[00:32:25] Love this movie, and then it then it had the ending so it's man
[00:32:29] You know this was one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen
[00:32:33] We were laughing through the whole thing and the other two people that were there
[00:32:37] It was so so good the acting was impeccable the cameos were spectacular
[00:32:43] I adored it, but then the ending kind of man the landing kind of ass. Oh man
[00:32:48] I don't how would you have expected this would okay?
[00:32:50] How would should should the it should have both their babies died would that have been the right way that they kill each other?
[00:32:56] No
[00:32:58] But it didn't have to have this stupid cookie cutter
[00:33:02] About only three blocks away
[00:33:04] I could come over any time and I was just so baby puke it was it was it made it was Mondo Mondo
[00:33:12] Mondo Mondo Mondo oh really the story that their house was terrible yeah, so it made sense I had to move
[00:33:20] Realized because she flew home like that
[00:33:24] Yes, to catch you needed it was what's convenient?
[00:33:28] Stupid there was no convenience. Oh, just they made a conscious decision. I love this movie
[00:33:34] It was almost Mondo. It was
[00:33:37] I
[00:33:40] People who are listening do not listen to brace on this this is no listen to me the movie spectacular go see it
[00:33:46] Yes, but just cut out with like no three minutes to go joy the Hollywood ending as
[00:33:52] As they wrote in the the musical
[00:33:56] Christmas zombie film okay fine. It was Mondo. I'll give it a mom exactly how could you not?
[00:34:02] It's probably the funniest movie I've seen it like forever
[00:34:06] Give this a mondo like if we're doing our top ten comedies of all time again
[00:34:10] I guess it would gone on there and since every other one would be a mondo then I guess this was
[00:34:15] Even though I hated the end you didn't like it. It didn't the babies lived that's
[00:34:23] Better yeah, it's true kill those babies kill the babies with all that shit
[00:34:30] Beepies hey Murray there's buttons you got to push there. It's bondo now. It was math
[00:34:37] You give it to me as bondo
[00:34:41] So mondo I love this never actually happened, but ever before so this is a first
[00:34:46] This is you know what we're celebrating our 250th episode by Bryce changing his review
[00:34:52] You know what I've already think about like I literally laughed through the whole thing
[00:34:56] I hated the end, but I laughed through the whole thing right up until the end
[00:35:00] Yeah, it was a funny thing at the end and everybody was so good in it every single cameo was spot-on perfect awesome
[00:35:10] How good was all of her platinus is little limited just so good we just don't see enough
[00:35:15] We need more Oliver Platt. That's right and
[00:35:18] Sandra Bernhardt yes like
[00:35:21] Last time you seen Sandra Bernhardt like
[00:35:24] Yeah, yeah in the 80s right where's she been?
[00:35:28] We need more Sandra Bernhardt yes and John Carroll John Carroll inches
[00:35:32] Yeah, we're gonna get more John Carroll Lynch because the guy's just too talented everywhere. He's everywhere
[00:35:36] Are you done or sure hit the music hit the music we're done. I mean that the music we're done
[00:35:43] We're moving on hey then oh
[00:35:46] Yeah, this is what we're moving on to all right well
[00:35:50] As I have a lot of time my hands now and nothing to watch that's right, and you have no more
[00:35:57] Hand cream no that I have to go to the grocery store
[00:36:01] I have another juicy morsel from the annals of movies on TV this one
[00:36:07] stars the repulsive and
[00:36:11] Departed Paul Walker. Oh
[00:36:13] Lucky you and the guy you guys love to hate Gerard Butler
[00:36:19] We we we love Gerard Butler
[00:36:22] We think that he's a very good actor that needs to fire his agent yes and get into good movies
[00:36:29] And it also stars the funniest how Billy Connelly
[00:36:33] In a role he is not funny what?
[00:36:37] Film is called
[00:36:40] Timeline oh god. It's all
[00:36:43] 2003
[00:36:45] That is one bad for a little like Bill and Ted except not funny
[00:36:51] Here's the sitch
[00:36:53] Adventurers imagine Bill and Ted without the last they travel back to the 14th century, France
[00:37:00] Smack dab in the middle of the Hundred Years War
[00:37:03] It's so bad to save a professor
[00:37:07] There I know awesome right you should have just dared us to see this
[00:37:13] Written by Michael Crichton
[00:37:17] Wait did he write the book or did he write any gave permission?
[00:37:20] Yeah, you wrote the book and then he wrote the screenplay no
[00:37:25] Is directed by Richard Donner yeah the guy behind the first two supermans and the omen
[00:37:32] And the Goonies yeah, no he made some good stuff the weapons. Yep
[00:37:38] First one was good
[00:37:39] Really calmly fucked after that Billy Connelly plays the wily old archaeologists professor
[00:37:45] Digging up bones as Randy Travis would say hmm
[00:37:49] Paul Walker plays his son with nary a hint of a Scottish accent
[00:37:55] Gerard putt butler because he can't be ways the younger more Indiana Jones type
[00:38:01] Archaeologist yeah, of course there's a woman in the mix
[00:38:04] Paul Walker repeatedly does stupid things to save her when she does stupid things oh good
[00:38:11] Once you put your brain in park and stop trying to figure out the twisted plot of film. It's kind of a fun ride is it
[00:38:19] Especially if you love medieval swashbuckling like I do okay, that's my problem. Yeah
[00:38:25] Michael Sheen puts in an appearance
[00:38:28] I like my as Lord Oliver the leader of the English army
[00:38:31] I didn't even remember who was trying to kill all those French knickets
[00:38:37] Of course he's helped out by another bad guy an evil dude from the future who is also trapped
[00:38:43] Okay, it's not a great
[00:38:47] Paul Walker is really terrible
[00:38:49] There is not nearly enough of Billy Connelly, and he is way too super serious
[00:38:55] Super serious, but drug butler does what Gerard Butler do being the hero
[00:39:01] Course he finds time to romance the French damsel in yes
[00:39:06] Spoiler alert he pulls a Captain America whoa
[00:39:10] Still I enjoyed all the sword fighting and the blowing stuff up with Greek fire bombs
[00:39:16] For me an enjoyable man despite the Paul Walker rom-com angle you guys I would predict a rage
[00:39:23] Oh, yeah, that's a heavy rage check it out at your peril. I saw it in cinemas
[00:39:30] You what are you talking about on TV you spayed spend $25 a month on cable yeah
[00:39:35] Well, you know $25 for that movie. I I'm capable to watch other things like sports
[00:39:41] Oh, like the 20 hours of racing ice I watched on Sunday
[00:39:46] Cuz of all the weather delays oh
[00:39:48] 500 there was like crashes every two minutes. It was fun. That's that's basically what it is anyway nice
[00:39:54] It was okay wasn't great
[00:39:56] But I had to write about her in it so I had to watch it
[00:40:01] Temperaturizing vision blurring rage taking over
[00:40:30] I
[00:40:38] Actually had so much to rage about this week, but
[00:40:43] The thing I'm gonna rage about the most I've been a little bit of a tear about how Hollywood is
[00:40:50] basically void of any
[00:40:54] Any
[00:40:56] Thing good that comes out of it lately is because it's mostly
[00:41:01] remakes redoes and repoops and
[00:41:04] And then we get an original story ish
[00:41:08] With hitman and even that they can't get right with with a talented director
[00:41:14] Well, maybe he's a hit-and-miss talent director with link later
[00:41:19] That it just I
[00:41:21] Thought it was only gonna be the terrible
[00:41:25] Remakes and stuff that was gonna be
[00:41:27] Rage-inducing, but apparently even when Hollywood does original stuff. It's now also terrible
[00:41:34] And what maybe it was because it was a biopic. Maybe it was just because they there's no
[00:41:40] talent left in Hollywood because I'm gonna say that
[00:41:44] Babes was a New York movie and I think there's something to be said about films that are made in New York
[00:41:52] They're usually better
[00:41:54] Yeah, that's my belief
[00:41:57] It could be wrong. That's close to true probably but yeah, it it was infuriating
[00:42:03] Yeah, yeah, it's poopy. Yeah, so I don't want to watch any more Hollywood movies
[00:42:09] Can we should make more movies in Canada and Calgary?
[00:42:15] So I can get more work. That's right, and they should also do that. But hey, wait a minute did did I talk about?
[00:42:21] Well, I talked about Tron coming back but there was another trailer that we saw come out for some terrible movie
[00:42:28] That's a franchise to this week. Do you remember what that was? There's twisters. Oh, yeah, there's twisters
[00:42:33] That's it. That's another one
[00:42:35] But it's like every we were remember we were sitting in the cinema and we're like, oh my god
[00:42:39] It was like every single movie was a fucking trail boys. Yeah
[00:42:44] Bad boys
[00:42:47] Run and hide slap your bitch. I don't know
[00:42:53] Just like if that that trailer alone infuriates me I can't take this anymore
[00:43:00] They also make no home back entire which not cool. Yeah, who makes front of Reba McIntyre?
[00:43:05] That's right. I don't think they were making fun of Reba. They were you didn't know one of her songs
[00:43:10] Why would they I don't know one of her song
[00:43:13] shame on you to them I
[00:43:16] Honestly could not name a Reba McIntyre song. Can you tell us one or two?
[00:43:22] Tell me like her biggest hit what was her biggest hit fancy is one of her big ones never heard of it
[00:43:27] She well, I guess it's not really her song but she was more famous with the night the lights went out in Georgia
[00:43:33] Oh, I know that song. Yeah, but I've never heard her version of no
[00:43:36] That's the verse that's the biggest version the Vicky Lawrence one didn't get a lot is it what what did she write that one?
[00:43:42] What you gonna do? What you gonna do when they come for you?
[00:43:49] That's the only song those two idiots know in their head though, yeah
[00:43:52] Dad whatever is in Will Smith's library. Yeah
[00:43:56] Why does it even start singing one of his songs?
[00:43:58] Like getting jiggy with it. They probably did they probably did what the hell's like it jiggy with it
[00:44:04] Well, there's a he's got a song
[00:44:10] There's a song called getting jiggy with it. Yes. Oh you're making that up look it up I dare you anyway
[00:44:19] There's a lot of rage from holly I know to be sequels
[00:44:23] And original stuff that's terrible
[00:44:48] Okay, so normally this stuff doesn't bother me but you kind of brought it up and it got me thinking nice
[00:44:54] So hit man was rated 7.4 on IMDB
[00:44:59] It was 7.5 when we walked out of the cinema. I am so now it's 7.4. So it's down gone down a
[00:45:05] tick
[00:45:06] Guess what percentage it is on Rotten Tomatoes
[00:45:10] 99
[00:45:12] Like is that the critic score and then I will give you both
[00:45:16] I'll give you the combined and then I'll give you the critics. Okay, the critic score should be a five. Okay, and
[00:45:23] Apparently the viewers are a 7.4
[00:45:27] Average of a book of like 70 or 70 not 80 40 percent should be 40 should be 40. Okay. Yeah, so
[00:45:35] certified fresh
[00:45:36] So it's it's
[00:45:39] 197 holy fucking now let's take the let's take the the the public out of this
[00:45:45] 42 by their
[00:45:48] critics critics
[00:45:50] Okay, so maybe there's only 40 out of 42
[00:45:54] that are
[00:45:55] Professional people that are paid and right for you know respected publications
[00:46:02] There were two negative reviews in 42. It is a 95% with the critics what?
[00:46:10] What is going on these people are paid to watch movie and they thought
[00:46:15] 95% of them thought this was an excellent movie
[00:46:20] This is insane like what have they been watching that this?
[00:46:25] Registers at all. This is the blandest piece of nothing that's ever been made
[00:46:32] 95%
[00:46:37] That's crazy like what they like yeah, so that's my rate
[00:46:41] You know what it lends itself to that there they were paid off
[00:46:45] It was it lends itself to my rage ultimately, I mean we all love Richard Linklater, but come on we like some things
[00:46:53] He seems like a good guy
[00:46:56] Maybe maybe Glen Powell's a nice guy too. I don't know he's talentless sure. It's a nice little
[00:47:03] a little bit of talent
[00:47:05] Yeah, Glenn Powell better be the nicest guy in Hollywood cuz that's the only reason I can think of that
[00:47:09] He's getting all these roles
[00:47:11] Yeah, you know really apparently Richard Linklater liked them enough to co-write a movie with them and then have a star
[00:47:20] Person well makes the link later an idiot. I mean I'm being idiot and be a nice person to write the script
[00:47:27] It's true
[00:47:30] At any rate
[00:47:32] Yeah, this is just baffling to me that so many people like not like the movie love the movie is great
[00:47:38] This is the best that they've ever been
[00:47:44] Oh my god, it's so bad when you see it with an audience at a festival especially with actors in attendance
[00:47:51] Of course, you're gonna be a little biased. I would
[00:47:54] I've watched movies with actors in attendance and
[00:47:58] Absolutely hated it. Yeah, I the only reason I didn't I mean
[00:48:01] I've been in a couple of screenings where it's like I can't ask a question because I'm gonna get lynched by this audience
[00:48:07] Exactly
[00:48:09] And everyone who leaves who gives it a rating like our system
[00:48:12] Yeah, how does he give it a five? Oh, that's all they ever go five five five
[00:48:17] Cuz the actor standing right there by the back. Yeah, I'm like hey actor check it out one
[00:48:23] That's right. Also one not everyone is as brave as you guys I guess not
[00:48:29] We're hating who cares
[00:48:37] Oh
[00:48:43] The lists
[00:48:46] All we were supposed to watch them. Yeah
[00:48:49] Yeah, we're supposed to watch a room with a view. I did watch it. Okay good
[00:48:54] So we got Maggie Smith
[00:48:57] versus Daniel Day Lewis, so before we go into it
[00:49:02] For those of you who for those of you who are listening to us for the first time well, welcome to our
[00:49:08] 250th episode and
[00:49:12] We have a segment called the list also on our web page don't rage YYC check it out
[00:49:18] It's called the list. There are five lists. There is
[00:49:22] Undoubtedly there is doubted there is mesmerizing and there's repulsive and there is previously mesmerizing and
[00:49:29] No longer mesmerizing because they got out mesmerized so
[00:49:33] The murder charged us from last week to see who was more mesmerizing
[00:49:38] Maggie Smith
[00:49:40] versus Daniel Day Lewis
[00:49:42] Yeah, so the first thing I got to mention is that I really loved all the homoerotic wrestling
[00:49:48] That was going on in this movie. I forgot how much homoerotic wrestling there was I
[00:49:53] forgot this movie and I
[00:49:56] Thought that I liked it and then I watched it again and I do not like
[00:50:02] This movie but I like this movie this movie did nothing for me not even the homoerotic wrestling
[00:50:07] No, no, that does more for you Jim. It's true. I do I'd love all kinds of nude wrestling. Yes
[00:50:15] But yeah
[00:50:16] I mean
[00:50:17] And honestly to have a mesmerized off in this movie is kind of sad to me because neither of them were at their best
[00:50:24] Or anywhere near?
[00:50:26] Yeah, I would say probably not but I still think the character that Daniel Day Lewis was playing
[00:50:32] Yeah, he was playing that role better than anyone else could play that role
[00:50:36] I agree and he was more mesmerizing than Meg. I also agree
[00:50:40] He was he was definitely more mesmerizing than Maggie Smith
[00:50:43] But and then I got to the point though where I'm watching it. I'm like, okay
[00:50:47] He's more mesmerizing than Maggie Smith and then I'm like I'm like well is anybody else more mesmerizing than him in it
[00:50:53] And then I'm like, I mean Julian Sands is okay, but he's not
[00:50:59] Like everybody was fine and that's all thing this movie was I mean it this well-acted movie
[00:51:06] It was adequately. Yeah, and it's just I don't know
[00:51:09] I just I remember like and I watched it when I was like like probably 14 or 15 when I probably
[00:51:17] Well now when it first came out, I didn't see it in the theater first 11 or 12
[00:51:20] Oh, didn't you I saw it in the center. Yeah. Well, you're like a lot older than me though. I'm like 72 years older than you
[00:51:25] Exactly. So you would have gone to it. I I wouldn't have what but
[00:51:31] He spent his allowance on comic books
[00:51:33] But you know then I you know once I was 15 16 then I was renting movies like it was going out of style
[00:51:38] I was watching everything on jugs. I
[00:51:42] Don't know my first porno magazine
[00:51:46] Nice
[00:51:48] at any rate
[00:51:50] Yeah, I mean it is what it is
[00:51:52] It's sad that Maggie Smith gets the boot based on this movie, but whatever well
[00:51:58] You know what you should have brought more of your a game Maggie Smith
[00:52:00] Yeah, cuz you know what there can only be one
[00:52:03] It's just like Kylander the original movie when there was originally only one person
[00:52:07] Yes, and then all the other highlight highlighters
[00:52:11] Captain Highliner that said oh no there can be more than just one
[00:52:17] But not in a mesmerize off there can be only one
[00:52:22] Okay, I don't even know what you're talking about anymore. Can I you can do whatever you want? Can I just say yes?
[00:52:28] You can can we put go ahead that what's the movie?
[00:52:32] What's that movie we saw for this week hitman hit man? Yeah, can we please add? What's his face?
[00:52:40] Yeah, can we please put going Powell? Yeah, I can't stand the guy every time I see him
[00:52:45] I want to puke but he was in that rom-com that came out like a month
[00:52:48] I see that stupid trailer of twister and I want to puke. It's like what is going on?
[00:52:53] Like why is this guy in so much crap? And he's also in the new running man. Oh
[00:52:58] Oh, wait, we we have wait
[00:53:00] There's a new there's another running man is Arnold in it is Arnold playing
[00:53:07] Richard not Richard Dreyfuss. What's that guy who's family feud guy Richard?
[00:53:13] Richard Dawson does Arnold come back and play Richard Dawson would be funny, but I don't think that's
[00:53:18] The world we live in is gone to shit like why can they not have one original good idea?
[00:53:25] This is this is infuriating me. Okay, so we all agree Glenn Powell. It's also sure it's a three-way unanimous decision
[00:53:34] It's good thing we saw maybe this week. All right
[00:53:37] Times are good
[00:53:40] Right. We lost somebody we so you got anything for us for next week the mer
[00:53:43] Well, it's a very short list yes
[00:53:48] By the way, Edgar Wright. What great wasn't he like undoubted?
[00:53:55] No, he wasn't undoubted because he had two minutes back-to-back. I believe really yes
[00:54:00] I like him. Yeah. Yeah the last and her Taylor joy that he was in she was in
[00:54:05] Did we do bones and all yet?
[00:54:08] No, but I
[00:54:10] Got Mark Rylance and Marks Michael Stolberg in bones and all oh
[00:54:17] That'd be fun to rewatch. Yeah, I love that movie. Yeah, I I now own it so is honestly I forget what we did
[00:54:25] Because if the name saw the list I go back to the database and search again
[00:54:29] So who was sorry mark Rylance and who Michael Stolberg? Oh
[00:54:35] Wow nice they're both still on the list apparently yeah
[00:54:39] I'm can't wait to watch it again. I've got a very good idea
[00:54:44] I can almost say it now because I just rewatch this like what is the back-to-back mess? I'm looking at this I
[00:54:52] Don't think you're right. I think I'm pretty right. I'm looking at our website. I think Edgar Wright's undoubted I
[00:54:59] Think you're wrong. Maybe not be happy this maybe not
[00:55:06] So basically what's the address for our website?
[00:55:10] I see
[00:55:12] Film rage why why see
[00:55:15] Okay, I believe it that was on our in our intro and I said it a couple times
[00:55:21] You said it 250 times. Yeah, I said it every every second of our 250th episode
[00:55:27] Yes, you know I can't keep up with all this stuff
[00:55:31] So we don't have to look it up
[00:55:33] We can just go through his shit if you want to talk about him
[00:55:36] Yeah, just go to the the trusted site IMDB yeah trusted site
[00:55:41] It's it's one look I looked at his stuff and I'm like no. I think he's on he's got to be on
[00:55:46] No, I think you're wrong depends on you guys. I mean I like everything he does but
[00:55:51] What what did he do that was to cut him off get all three of the tornado trilogies?
[00:55:56] Maybe even like one of those the water who does
[00:56:00] Okay last night in Soho was kind of poopy it was man
[00:56:04] Sparks the Sparks brothers was Mondo was Mondo the baby driver was Mondo
[00:56:10] Yeah, the world's end was met Scott Scott Pilgrim versus world was super Mondo. Yeah super Mondo
[00:56:17] Hot fuzz was met. Yeah. Oh, maybe just hasn't made enough movies
[00:56:23] There you go. Shaun of the dead. Oh, wait a second. Shaun of the dead is Mondo. Yeah
[00:56:28] And that's do what did he did he do anything before?
[00:56:32] No, okay. So how many is that? I think he's just me doesn't mean I don't I don't know
[00:56:39] three
[00:56:41] four five one
[00:56:43] Two
[00:56:45] Why is it credit him with growing house?
[00:56:47] Why I would see did he helped write it no no he did the one of the little
[00:56:52] Yeah, now he's on because he's only had seven movies. Well there you go
[00:56:57] Well, this is sad though because a remake of a terrible movie is gonna be his eighth movie
[00:57:04] He might not get on if running man like I said starring the repulsive
[00:57:13] He's gonna have two men's back
[00:57:15] I just said you did well hey, here's the thing if somehow
[00:57:21] He can make running man a Mondo
[00:57:24] Really he might be missing you might be fricking
[00:57:28] Undoubtedly for life based on that because he's got everything working to get remake Glenn Powell
[00:57:34] I mean there is nothing about this no short tonight. It makes me want to see it
[00:57:40] List anybody else I'm sure he'll come walk by
[00:57:45] But no they didn't mention anybody I hope he comes back. Oh wait, he's doing a remake of Barbarella, too
[00:57:52] What the fuck right? What are you doing? Oh, he's getting lazy in his old
[00:57:56] I'm doing a baby driver like all his shit is really
[00:58:00] Free poop even Edgar Wright who's not even who's not even from Hollywood has got Hollywood eyes
[00:58:07] He's gonna Hollywood. This is this is the worst day of my life. We're celebrating 250
[00:58:14] Then we get this yeah by the way you've even got it on our website nominated for undoubted
[00:58:19] But not approved yet Edgar Wright, so you have no idea what's on our website perhaps
[00:58:23] You should have known that before well. I thought I did in fact. I knew more than you cuz you're like no
[00:58:28] Yeah, we had back-to-back mess. No he didn't you wiener
[00:58:33] At any rate well you know what the running man will tell yeah
[00:58:37] Well, this is this is the ultimate frickin challenge of anybody that's ever made
[00:58:42] I
[00:58:47] Can't wait for the running man now just because I want to know if Edgar Wright can overcome
[00:58:53] All odds all odds
[00:58:56] last week
[00:58:59] Last week on
[00:59:00] Rage or dare does it better be baby boy?
[00:59:04] Bryce felt that Jim could not possibly deliver on a succulent rage offering was surprised to find a film from
[00:59:10] 2019 with a box office record for this show of
[00:59:15] $10,000 and a cast that apparently no one has ever heard of and I do mean
[00:59:22] No one yes. He pulled a to be offering called a
[00:59:27] Wakefield project
[00:59:29] anyone anyone a
[00:59:32] Wakefield project
[00:59:34] This week Jim is just like a free-range organic masochist
[00:59:38] Raising freely on anything his cold little dead heart desires
[00:59:42] Well, that is if Bryce got off his lazy ass and did his freaking job come on man
[00:59:48] Otherwise our little demon child Jim may not be so organic and might be more like
[00:59:53] MSG filled leftovers left on the counter after a bender for a week. Come on Bryce
[00:59:58] All right. Now it's time to find out if the to be tastic blockbuster film a wakefield project
[01:00:05] Did at least have one actor Bryce has ever seen in you know
[01:00:09] anything ever and more importantly was that
[01:00:14] $10,000 grossed at the box office just the directors closest friends and family or would Bryce have happily paid his
[01:00:21] $9.99 for a golden ticket to this gem in the cinemas
[01:00:27] Okay, this is stretching your your crappy in cinemas thing to the nth degree
[01:00:32] Do you realize where this played this played in England?
[01:00:35] Yes at one film festival where it was part of a package
[01:00:39] Yes, like they showed like six or eight horror movies back to back
[01:00:43] Yeah, so the ten thousand dollars that you say it made didn't even make
[01:00:48] $10,000 I mean ten thousand dollars divided by like eight or however many
[01:00:53] So it played at one bloody semi so this is this is garbage by the way, you know what this is not a movie
[01:01:00] I want to say I want to say and I quote okay. There's to watch a terrible film if it played anywhere
[01:01:07] I'm gonna the world. I'm gonna convince the world to show me farting for five minutes
[01:01:16] Okay, show me farting for an hour and a half you just sit in the cinema
[01:01:20] I'll just get someone to let me in at like 6 a.m. And well, I won't waste anybody's time
[01:01:27] I'll watch it there it played in a cinema and then I'll nominate that. Yeah, this is stupid. Yes, that's perfect
[01:01:34] This is not I love it. This is not
[01:01:38] Here let me just write read this again, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know if it played in a cinema anywhere
[01:01:43] Anywhere was anywhere in the world which is ridiculous. It literally had one screen. I was not the best
[01:01:50] Yeah
[01:01:52] So it qualifies suck it up princess anyways, I don't even know what it was about
[01:01:56] I'm watching it and there is these weird noises that are going on that have nothing to do with the fact that there's also
[01:02:04] kind of
[01:02:07] What can you even call that there's this guy and you're murdered a bunch of people and
[01:02:13] Then his ghost or his spirit is like being transferred through this VHS tape
[01:02:19] So I video draw and then but then but then cell phones don't work
[01:02:23] every time this weird noise takes place and then I think
[01:02:27] Everybody that was in this movie that was a I think there was a bunch of guys from the gym that actually made it
[01:02:33] Cuz they were all in really good shape nice. So I think they said hey, let's make a movie
[01:02:37] So the Barbarian Brothers in it I wish because they would have been semi entertaining
[01:02:41] I actually thought movie was a frickin masterpiece compared to this thing
[01:02:45] This like nothing made sense like like they're like random like I
[01:02:51] Was baffled like I don't know and the acting was atrocious
[01:02:54] It was just was there anybody that you've ever seen it felt like it was shot on someone's cell phone
[01:03:00] No, it was it was garbage. It was not a theatrical release by any stretch of the imagination
[01:03:06] I resent the fact that this is this somehow
[01:03:10] Fritz our criteria and I think we really if this is a type of garbage
[01:03:13] I can scope out some just this is not gonna get anybody listening to our podcast talking about his film that nobody's ever heard of
[01:03:20] And never will because nobody's gonna go and watch it. Oh now that now that you've talked about it
[01:03:26] I'm gonna go watch it for free on Tubi
[01:03:28] Yeah, go watch it for free on Tubi
[01:03:31] Do not watch it for free on Tubi do not what do not give these people any money
[01:03:35] Because they're gonna get something if they give you click on it. They're probably gonna get two pennies
[01:03:39] How did how did Tubi want to pick this up?
[01:03:43] To be the $10,000 to be picks up a lot of gems and to be likes to have a lot of content Jim
[01:03:50] So they've got some gems and then they've got some filler content and there's a lot of filler
[01:03:56] You know what I watched on Tubi in the last couple weeks. No terrifier to terrifier to yes
[01:04:03] That's good. I like it. How can you not like terrifier to I think terrifier three is gonna be coming out real soon
[01:04:09] Yeah, it's a Christmas present to us
[01:04:11] Terrifier three at any rate. I don't even know what to say about this movie bad acting. There's no special effects
[01:04:17] It's not it's a horror movie, but it's just dumb. It was horror horrifying
[01:04:22] So yeah, basically this town like I don't even know what to say about it
[01:04:26] It's gonna have something to say about it
[01:04:28] There's like a serial killer in this town and then he died and now he comes back through a videotape
[01:04:35] Which makes no sense and there's random noises that turns everybody cell phones off
[01:04:40] Which has nothing to do with anything and these two outsiders come and buy the
[01:04:46] hotel that this guy apparently owned or no, this is where the murders took place apparently and
[01:04:52] That really doesn't connect to anything either
[01:04:54] It's just a lot of random ideas that add up to nothing with bad acting. It's a rage
[01:05:00] It sounds awesome. I might watch that tonight when I get home. You definitely should Jim
[01:05:07] So
[01:05:09] This
[01:05:10] Okay, here's the important question. Yes
[01:05:13] This has a 2.9 on IMDB
[01:05:17] comparing it to our Glen Powell movie
[01:05:21] What do you think deserves a higher rating on IMDB?
[01:05:29] if they're on
[01:05:31] Just because at least the Glen Powell movie if you didn't listen to it
[01:05:36] It looked like it was professionally made
[01:05:39] Then the Glen Powell movie was better even though you had to look at Glen Powell
[01:05:45] Okay, but they're both god-awful and it should never be watched by anybody
[01:05:51] It's like would you like this piece of turd that smells really bad or this piece of turd that smells a little worse
[01:05:58] Nice. I don't want either pieces of turd Jim
[01:06:02] Well, you know what we didn't get the name
[01:06:06] Film love no, we didn't we got the
[01:06:11] Ridiculous and I get to have something exciting because guess what?
[01:06:16] Bryce did not do his job
[01:06:18] I want to actually you know what I want to put forward no in theaters
[01:06:21] And you got to be able to find it on a DVD
[01:06:24] It's had to have a DVD release cuz I guarantee this thing never even made how would you know if they had a
[01:06:29] Just looking it up. How would you know?
[01:06:32] Okay, I'm listening grabbing from the listeners dare bag good for you. Oh wow
[01:06:37] Do you think this one has a DVD release? It's called werewolves on wheels
[01:06:43] Sweet there's no way that had a theatrical release either
[01:06:47] Sounds fun. I know right
[01:06:50] Man our listeners dare bag sun is on TV. I'd watch it
[01:06:55] Is it maybe it did have a release is from 1971. Yeah
[01:07:00] Hey, that's would be why I didn't never heard of it. I don't know how the heck you're gonna find it
[01:07:05] Yeah, well if I can't then I'll have to watch something else. Maybe I'll watch a wakefield project. Yeah
[01:07:12] Love a double week. I would imagine that if it was released in 1971 there was no straight-up video
[01:07:19] So it had to play somewhere right?
[01:07:21] So it definitely had a theatrical release that old usually you can find for free in places
[01:07:26] Like maybe on YouTube or if we're lucky I can find it on to be
[01:07:33] To be tastic did 265 grand in 1971 is good money back then
[01:07:38] Yeah, that's certainly a lot more than
[01:07:41] 10,000 divided by 8. It sure is
[01:07:44] right true
[01:07:47] I kind of want to watch this now. Maybe we'll watch it together
[01:07:50] I
[01:07:53] Excellent, maybe what are the live? Why are the listeners giving you gems like this?
[01:08:00] This looks like the greatest movie that's ever this this gang thought it was tough
[01:08:06] Do we make werewolves till it found a new type of hell the bride of Satan?
[01:08:12] Oh, that's the tagline. Come on. Guess what? It's on
[01:08:16] To be and on plex nice, oh
[01:08:20] Jim is a lucky boy
[01:08:22] You know what if you would just fill your bag
[01:08:25] I might get some terrible stuff, but apparently our listeners dare bag of meh has returned
