Welcome back ragers to the best movie review podcast on the planet. The rage rolls on from the Film Rage Studio.
This week the Film Rage Crew went to two over the top action extravaganzas in The Fall Guy and the Korean flick The Roundup: The Punishment. They also watched some more PG horror as they endured Tarot. Also listen as it's the Murman's turn to rage this week as he absolutely loses it multiple times about The Fall Guy them song "The Unknown Stuntman" for some reason that only makes sense to The Mur and then he continues to get upset multiple times throughout the entire episode. Do us here at Film Rage a favour and if you see him on the street, give him a hug as I think he really needs it. The we find out if Stanley Kubrick's last eight movies are strong enough to land him on the Undoubted list. Finally Bryce tries to remember what he watched for the Rage or Dare segment. He seems to remember that Bruce Willis was in it.

[00:00:04] It's time to feel the RAGE
[00:00:08] Welcome to Film Rage where we talk movies
[00:00:11] Streaming in theaters and cloooolastic films as well
[00:00:14] Do we do streaming anymore?
[00:00:15] Uh, yeah sometimes we do
[00:00:18] We stream with the rager dare
[00:00:21] And then I guess I stream
[00:00:22] I did watch Full Metal Jacket
[00:00:24] You'll be pretty clear
[00:00:25] So you're giving away everything
[00:00:26] It's all given away in the intro
[00:00:28] You don't even have a listen
[00:00:29] We don't even need a listen
[00:00:30] Just hit stop it's over
[00:00:32] Directors and actors beware
[00:00:33] Cause you cannot hide from the rage
[00:00:35] My name is Bryson and I'm part of the Film Rage crew
[00:00:37] Which also includes
[00:00:38] Jim
[00:00:40] Heyyyy
[00:00:42] Heyyyy
[00:00:45] That was unnecessarily annoying
[00:00:47] And Murray who's sporting what is that a deadpool shirt?
[00:00:50] Deadpool baby
[00:00:51] Deadpool
[00:00:53] Is that coming out soon?
[00:00:54] This is my long sleeved shirt
[00:00:56] When's that coming out?
[00:00:57] 2025?
[00:00:58] I'm pretty sure it's this year
[00:01:00] This year?
[00:01:01] Wait is it deadpool bait?
[00:01:03] Is it like a dead baby pool?
[00:01:05] I'm sure there's a baby in there somewhere
[00:01:07] Dead baby pool
[00:01:08] Cause he has to go back in time to kill babies
[00:01:09] It's a dead baby pool
[00:01:11] Oh that's not good cause it said it's deadpool
[00:01:13] It's a shirt man
[00:01:14] Cause you have nothing great on your shirt
[00:01:15] This is already falling apart
[00:01:16] With introductions out of the way
[00:01:18] Let's rage
[00:01:20] On
[00:01:23] If you like deadpool babies
[00:01:25] Thanks for supporting us

[00:01:39] If you cannot commit to a membership
[00:01:41] You can still buy us a movie rental
[00:01:43] And dare us to see a terrible, terrible, terrible film
[00:01:46] And we'll watch it
[00:01:48] If it played anywhere in cinemas in the world
[00:01:50] And it's not a kids movie
[00:01:52] Now let's get to Raging
[00:01:54] It's a little bit of a rage
[00:02:07] Oh a little bit of a mono
[00:02:09] Will he tell us all what prison chin thought of movies
[00:02:13] That they saw in cinemas this week
[00:02:16] And you never know what he's going to tell us
[00:02:19] As he swims by you
[00:02:22] Swim, swim
[00:02:25] In case I had mentioned I really hate that feeling
[00:02:27] Swim, swim, swim
[00:02:29] Swim, swim
[00:02:31] Okay
[00:02:33] There were some movies
[00:02:35] Yes
[00:02:36] That we went to
[00:02:38] Some more than others
[00:02:42] What you say, Murray?
[00:02:44] First up, it's pretty much a no brainer
[00:02:46] Okay
[00:02:47] The Fall Guy
[00:02:48] Yes
[00:02:49] You both know
[00:02:50] I was looking forward to
[00:02:51] Yes
[00:02:53] And I'm pretty sure you guys weren't
[00:02:56] What?
[00:02:57] Because I had to explain Jim on the way home
[00:03:00] What the actual TV show was all about
[00:03:02] I mean you guys never saw it
[00:03:04] So this is all wasted on you
[00:03:06] So yeah
[00:03:07] I know of the Fall Guy
[00:03:09] I knew he was a stunt man before I went to this
[00:03:11] Whatever
[00:03:12] He had like little adventures
[00:03:14] Every week where he's solved crimes
[00:03:16] Or someone got him
[00:03:18] Yeah I have, Lee Majors, I've seen it
[00:03:20] So I think it's double rage
[00:03:22] Both of you
[00:03:23] Okay
[00:03:25] I did tell, I told Jim
[00:03:27] That I believe that this movie
[00:03:29] Was custom made for Murray
[00:03:31] Of course it was
[00:03:32] I predict Murray gave it a Mando
[00:03:34] More on that later
[00:03:38] Next up is Tarot
[00:03:39] Which I did not go to because
[00:03:41] You guys chose to see it at 10 o'clock at night
[00:03:43] We did
[00:03:44] And you know my rules on some movies at 10 o'clock
[00:03:46] Bedtime for the Murman
[00:03:48] Alright
[00:03:49] I do not get through movies
[00:03:50] They start at 10 o'clock at night
[00:03:52] I barely get through movies
[00:03:54] Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't
[00:03:56] If you had switched it up
[00:03:58] I would have gone with you anyway
[00:03:59] Yes
[00:04:00] The Tarot looks stupid
[00:04:01] It's like every other stupid horror movie
[00:04:03] Has been on our side
[00:04:04] You did didn't it
[00:04:06] Jim likes horror more than you do
[00:04:08] So he might have maybe got a little mad
[00:04:10] I'm not sure that's true
[00:04:11] I think Bryce Rage on that one too
[00:04:14] I'm just raging
[00:04:16] Yes, you know what
[00:04:17] I'm a ball of rage
[00:04:19] Yeah
[00:04:20] Have you met you?
[00:04:21] Yeah, if you met you
[00:04:22] Plus on top of that
[00:04:23] When we got here
[00:04:24] All you've been doing is raging
[00:04:25] We're gonna rage since the moment we got here
[00:04:27] It's like one big heavy rage flow
[00:04:29] Put your saris in the sack
[00:04:30] Like somebody crapped in his vegan oatmeal
[00:04:32] That's right
[00:04:34] Which made it no longer vegan
[00:04:36] Well, also because
[00:04:38] Well if you crapped in your own oatmeal
[00:04:40] Then it is vegan
[00:04:41] It's still not vegan
[00:04:42] It was produced by an animal
[00:04:44] Whether it's me or someone else
[00:04:45] Yeah, then we have this discussion
[00:04:46] Can't you eat your own self
[00:04:48] Then you're still vegan?
[00:04:49] No
[00:04:50] Okay, well
[00:04:51] I would
[00:04:53] This is devolving
[00:04:54] Let's move on Murray
[00:04:55] Get control of this Murman
[00:04:58] You're the host
[00:04:59] I just pushed buttons
[00:05:02] The last one which I didn't see
[00:05:03] Never heard of it
[00:05:04] No idea what the hell it was about
[00:05:06] But you saw the trailer
[00:05:07] And yeah, it looks Korean
[00:05:09] It does
[00:05:10] Looks like a lot of people kicking ass
[00:05:12] It's very Korean
[00:05:13] Yeah, of course you guys probably loved it
[00:05:15] Oh
[00:05:17] I think Jim maybe more so
[00:05:19] Okay
[00:05:20] So let's go met and Mando
[00:05:22] Mando for Jim
[00:05:23] Alright
[00:05:24] There you go
[00:05:25] And once again
[00:05:26] I wanna repeat
[00:05:27] I don't care
[00:05:28] Alright
[00:05:29] I will tell ya
[00:05:30] You aren't going 0 for 3 this week with me Murman
[00:05:33] I know I'm not
[00:05:34] What?
[00:05:35] Also not going 0 for 3 me
[00:05:37] Me as well
[00:05:38] Yes, it's true
[00:05:39] I still contend
[00:05:41] That I went 3 for 6 last month
[00:05:43] Because you guys
[00:05:45] Washed out
[00:05:46] You actually went 0 for 6
[00:05:48] Ha ha ha
[00:05:49] Hashtag murrigan
[00:05:51] The high met is a Mando
[00:05:53] I'm sorry, I'm gonna stand by that
[00:05:55] That's the silliest thing I've ever heard
[00:05:58] Your nitpicking stuff
[00:05:59] Alright
[00:06:00] Well let's find out what everybody's wondering about
[00:06:03] Yes
[00:06:04] Which is a stuntman remake of a TV show
[00:06:08] From the 80s
[00:06:10] From the 80s
[00:06:11] Hey, you're giving away my introduction here
[00:06:14] Before Bryce was even born
[00:06:15] Before Bryce was what?
[00:06:16] No, it wasn't
[00:06:18] I know I look like a schoolboy
[00:06:21] What were you 3 years old?
[00:06:23] No, it was like
[00:06:25] It must have been like 85, 86
[00:06:27] 81
[00:06:28] 81, really?
[00:06:29] I have vivid memories of the Fall Guy
[00:06:31] Like I really do
[00:06:32] I know I've seen it
[00:06:33] Do you know the theme song?
[00:06:34] He was driving around
[00:06:35] I'm gonna actually
[00:06:36] We'll actually get to that
[00:06:37] Oh, there we go
[00:06:38] Don't do one of your fun and the opera things
[00:06:40] Hey
[00:06:41] I gotta be me, Murman
[00:06:43] That's right
[00:06:44] So Ryan Gosling stars as Colt Siever
[00:06:46] In this film based on the 80s
[00:06:49] Sievers whatever
[00:06:50] On the 80s TV series
[00:06:52] The Fall Guy
[00:06:55] It starts with a stunt gone wrong
[00:06:58] That has Colt quitting the stunt game
[00:07:01] And parking cars for a living
[00:07:03] But then Colt is contacted by producer Gail Meyer
[00:07:06] Played by Hannah Waddingham
[00:07:08] Who tells him that Jody Moreno
[00:07:12] Played by Emily Blunt
[00:07:13] Has requested that he does the stunts
[00:07:15] In her debut in the director's chair
[00:07:19] Colt is smitten with Jody
[00:07:21] So he hops on a plane to Australia
[00:07:24] Yes
[00:07:25] From there we get unnecessary stunt
[00:07:27] After unnecessary action sequence
[00:07:29] With a convoluted plot
[00:07:31] With multiple idiotic reveals
[00:07:34] And none of that matters
[00:07:36] Because simply put
[00:07:37] The Fall Guy was as much dumb fun
[00:07:39] As you could pack into a single movie
[00:07:41] What?
[00:07:42] I cannot deny that I enjoyed
[00:07:44] Every dumb stunt
[00:07:46] Every dumb subplot
[00:07:48] Every dumb twist
[00:07:49] And every dumb line of dialogue
[00:07:52] Plus who knew there was so many version
[00:07:54] Of kisses I was made for loving you
[00:07:56] Yeah, I didn't know
[00:07:58] Even the soundtrack had me smiling
[00:08:00] That is until the closing credits
[00:08:02] What?
[00:08:03] Where we had to endure
[00:08:04] The original Fall Guy theme song
[00:08:07] I might fall from a tall building
[00:08:09] It's not
[00:08:10] I might roll a brand new car
[00:08:12] Cause I'm the unknown stunt
[00:08:14] Man, the made red bird such a star
[00:08:17] I might jump an open draw bridge
[00:08:20] Or tarzan from a vine
[00:08:22] Cause I'm the unknown stunt, man
[00:08:25] That makes Eastwood look so fine
[00:08:27] That song makes me rage
[00:08:29] Because I still can't get it out of my head
[00:08:32] But
[00:08:33] That was not the song you heard
[00:08:35] But Fall Guy of the movie
[00:08:37] That was a big dumb over-the-top
[00:08:39] Mondo
[00:08:41] You gotta be kidding me
[00:08:43] I
[00:08:44] Love this movie
[00:08:45] I enjoyed every stupid
[00:08:47] Dumb bit of it
[00:08:49] And it was ridiculous
[00:08:51] And over-the-top
[00:08:52] And I loved it
[00:08:53] I laughed
[00:08:54] And I laughed
[00:08:55] It was very, very enjoyable for me
[00:08:58] I find it hard to believe
[00:09:00] You know what?
[00:09:02] Sometimes it's like
[00:09:03] Shitting fish
[00:09:05] That is not the song you heard
[00:09:09] You heard about two lines of that
[00:09:12] The rest of that shit
[00:09:14] Was made up by Blake Shelton who changed it
[00:09:17] There's no fucking Eastwood
[00:09:19] There was no red fur
[00:09:20] There's no fair-foss
[00:09:21] There was none of the original shit in there
[00:09:23] Because Blake Shelton changed it all
[00:09:25] I remember there being an Eastwood
[00:09:27] No, he changed it all
[00:09:29] He changed every fucking word of it
[00:09:31] So just so you know
[00:09:33] So if you're gonna sing it
[00:09:34] Sing the shitty version
[00:09:35] Thank you
[00:09:36] Wait, wait, what is the shitty version?
[00:09:38] The Blake Shelton version
[00:09:39] Something about falling in love or something
[00:09:41] He was singing the lead major's version
[00:09:43] Yeah
[00:09:44] Because he googled it
[00:09:45] The only reason why he knew the words
[00:09:47] I have it committed to memory, okay?
[00:09:50] I knew the first one
[00:09:52] I didn't know the second one
[00:09:54] I have entire seasons on DVD, okay?
[00:09:57] Don't tell me
[00:09:59] Don't tell him about...
[00:10:01] You know what?
[00:10:02] You messed that up too
[00:10:03] So I don't even care if he gave it a mondo
[00:10:05] You know what?
[00:10:06] Here's the thing
[00:10:07] Yes
[00:10:08] I've never heard either song
[00:10:10] Yeah, you heard it at the end of the big storm
[00:10:12] It's both terrible
[00:10:13] So it doesn't matter
[00:10:14] Okay, let me tell you about fall...
[00:10:17] Sorry, the fall guy?
[00:10:18] The fall guy
[00:10:19] The fall guy
[00:10:21] All right
[00:10:22] This film does a great job
[00:10:25] Of giving an inside look into
[00:10:28] The stuntman job within
[00:10:30] The whole movie industry
[00:10:32] And Ryan Gosling is so likeable
[00:10:35] You can't help but root for him
[00:10:37] The story idea is fun
[00:10:39] And the stunts are creative and awesome
[00:10:42] What isn't awesome though
[00:10:44] Is the whole love story
[00:10:46] That bogs the film down
[00:10:48] And makes it longer than it needed to be
[00:10:50] I mean, I like Emily Blunt
[00:10:52] Just like everyone else does
[00:10:53] But this film really feels
[00:10:56] Way too...
[00:10:58] Way too...
[00:10:59] Way too long
[00:11:01] And it also felt like a TV plot
[00:11:05] With a TV show dialogue
[00:11:07] And maybe that's because
[00:11:09] It is based on a TV show
[00:11:11] Yes, it was
[00:11:12] Yeah, there you go
[00:11:13] Don't get me wrong
[00:11:14] It's fun
[00:11:15] And seeing these stunts on IMAX
[00:11:17] Made them even more fun
[00:11:19] But it was too long
[00:11:20] And at times even a little draggy
[00:11:22] Because it was two hours and six minutes
[00:11:25] Plus, I had issues with the story
[00:11:27] That has Ryan Gosling
[00:11:30] Is almost killed
[00:11:33] And he is supposed to be apologizing
[00:11:35] For anything
[00:11:37] What's that?
[00:11:39] There's beeping
[00:11:41] That's crazy
[00:11:42] Yeah, I didn't like the fact it was predictable
[00:11:46] So I wasn't in on the joke
[00:11:48] That Murray and Bryce were
[00:11:49] So I didn't necessarily love
[00:11:52] The whole story idea
[00:11:53] I hated the whole love story idea
[00:11:55] It was over the top in Corny
[00:11:56] And way too soap opera
[00:11:58] Made for TV
[00:12:00] Overall, I think the action is fun
[00:12:02] And the story idea is creative
[00:12:04] But the story also is very predictable
[00:12:06] And takes way too long to end
[00:12:08] I didn't hate it
[00:12:09] I didn't love it
[00:12:10] But what I did love
[00:12:11] Was seeing this with my boy, the Merman
[00:12:13] So I guess the film is meh
[00:12:15] But spending time with the meh
[00:12:17] Is always a mondo
[00:12:19] That's it
[00:12:23] That's all I got to say
[00:12:24] The movie was a mondo or I was a mondo?
[00:12:25] You're a mondo
[00:12:26] And the movie was a meh
[00:12:28] Okay
[00:12:33] Well, I had to change my intro now
[00:12:35] Because Bryce unexpectedly actually liked the movie
[00:12:38] Right?
[00:12:40] Not liked it
[00:12:41] Loved it
[00:12:42] It was a mondo
[00:12:43] There's a huge difference between
[00:12:44] Because it was as dumb as it gets
[00:12:45] And the fact that he liked it
[00:12:46] It just boggles the mind
[00:12:48] That's what made it awesome
[00:12:49] Boggles the mind
[00:12:50] Okay, let me explain
[00:12:52] To our movie-loving viewers
[00:12:54] What the Fall Guy
[00:12:56] Is supposed to be above
[00:12:58] Yes, let's hear it
[00:12:59] Fall Guy
[00:13:00] No, I'm talking about the show
[00:13:02] Okay, so the show
[00:13:04] Because I had to explain it to you
[00:13:06] I'm going to explain it to them
[00:13:08] It's a love show?
[00:13:09] No, nothing to do with love
[00:13:11] Okay, gotcha
[00:13:12] The Fall Guy
[00:13:13] Yeah
[00:13:14] starring Lee Majors
[00:13:15] Yes
[00:13:16] At 1981 to 1986
[00:13:17] Yes
[00:13:18] Oh, that's why
[00:13:19] He was a stuntman
[00:13:22] Who has to moonlight as a bounty hunter
[00:13:25] To pay his bills
[00:13:26] Because there aren't enough stunts
[00:13:27] Apparently going around
[00:13:28] Apparently stuntmen are not treated well
[00:13:30] So he tracked down people who run out
[00:13:31] On their bail
[00:13:33] Yeah
[00:13:34] Bail bond
[00:13:35] That's right
[00:13:36] And he has to track them down
[00:13:37] Usually across the border
[00:13:38] Or dealing with gangsters
[00:13:40] Or biker gangs or whatever
[00:13:42] So it's like dog the bounty hunter
[00:13:43] But he's more bounty hunter
[00:13:45] Than he is stuntman
[00:13:46] I think the stunts in the show
[00:13:47] Actually count for like five minutes
[00:13:49] And I think most of it was stock footage
[00:13:51] So he was more or less a bounty hunter
[00:13:52] Yes
[00:13:53] But
[00:13:54] The difference is
[00:13:55] Between the movie and this one
[00:13:56] Wait for the sequel
[00:13:58] Jody
[00:13:59] Yes
[00:14:00] Who in this movie
[00:14:01] Is a film director
[00:14:02] In the TV show
[00:14:03] Jody Banks was his assistant
[00:14:06] They never had a thing
[00:14:08] She worked for him
[00:14:10] She was also a stuntwoman
[00:14:12] So yeah there was no romantic thing
[00:14:14] There was no love story
[00:14:15] It was just about the stunts
[00:14:16] And the car chases
[00:14:18] And the action
[00:14:19] Which is a show that I loved
[00:14:21] But this was Jody Moreno
[00:14:23] Yeah I'm saying nothing to do with the show
[00:14:25] Yeah
[00:14:26] So this had very little to do with the show
[00:14:29] Other than the fact that the two original stars
[00:14:31] Showed up at the end
[00:14:32] Spoiler alert
[00:14:33] Wait but also all the people's names
[00:14:34] Were the same as the original TV show
[00:14:36] No they were not
[00:14:37] We're at the Asian Show
[00:14:38] And in this movie
[00:14:39] Just the first name
[00:14:40] Yeah in this movie he wasn't a bounty hunter
[00:14:42] He was just some idiot stuntman
[00:14:44] Who actually got tricked into
[00:14:47] Tracking down
[00:14:49] Star of the movie
[00:14:50] Yeah he's framed is what it was
[00:14:52] Anyway
[00:14:53] That's so dumb
[00:14:54] Anyway
[00:14:57] You know with the Ryan Gosling movie
[00:14:59] Based on one of my favorite all time shows
[00:15:02] I was gonna love it
[00:15:04] Or was I
[00:15:06] What
[00:15:07] See I can do shit too
[00:15:09] What
[00:15:11] I'm gonna start with the bad
[00:15:13] There were parts I didn't like
[00:15:15] What
[00:15:16] There were probably parts I didn't like
[00:15:17] As Jim said
[00:15:19] There was way too much rom
[00:15:21] In this rom-com action movie
[00:15:23] Yes
[00:15:24] Perfect amount
[00:15:25] We saw it in IMAX
[00:15:26] But there wasn't nearly enough action
[00:15:28] Besides Gosling taking off his shirt
[00:15:30] There was a ton of action
[00:15:31] That was pretty awesome
[00:15:32] Heavens to Murgatroy
[00:15:33] That dude is cut
[00:15:34] He is pretty cut
[00:15:35] I was expecting the story
[00:15:37] Such as it was
[00:15:38] To concentrate more on the actual stunts
[00:15:40] There was one hour
[00:15:42] There were so many stunts in it
[00:15:43] With a lot of talking
[00:15:44] Yes
[00:15:46] And they did use the original theme song
[00:15:48] Sort of
[00:15:49] Lake Shelton did a remake
[00:15:50] And they changed the lyrics
[00:15:52] In case people forgot
[00:15:53] It does go like this
[00:15:55] Let's hear it
[00:15:56] Here we go
[00:15:57] I'm not gonna sing though
[00:15:58] I'm not the kind to kiss and tell
[00:16:00] But I've been seen with Farah
[00:16:02] That would be faucet
[00:16:04] Who he was married to
[00:16:05] Yeah
[00:16:06] Never been seen with anything less than a nine
[00:16:09] So fine
[00:16:11] I've been on fire with Sally Field
[00:16:14] Gone fast with a girl named Bo
[00:16:17] That would be Derek
[00:16:18] Yeah
[00:16:19] This is the version I sang
[00:16:21] No, you did not sing this
[00:16:22] Yes, I did
[00:16:23] You destroyed it
[00:16:24] I sang the choruses
[00:16:25] Somehow they don't end up as mine
[00:16:28] It's a death defying life I lead
[00:16:30] I take my chances
[00:16:32] This would have been way better
[00:16:34] I'd die for a living in the movies and TV
[00:16:36] Yeah
[00:16:37] The hardest thing I ever do
[00:16:39] Is watch my leading ladies
[00:16:41] I just skipped the version
[00:16:42] Kiss some other guy
[00:16:43] While I'm bandaging my knee
[00:16:45] See, that's the unknown stuntman
[00:16:47] I might fall from a tall building
[00:16:49] I might roll a braiding car
[00:16:50] How long is this song?
[00:16:51] It's already boring me
[00:16:52] I'm the unknown stuntman
[00:16:53] That made Redford such a star
[00:16:55] Which is exactly what I sang
[00:16:57] Yeah, which was in the movie
[00:17:00] It wasn't the version that was in the movie
[00:17:02] It was not the version that was in the movie
[00:17:04] What does that matter?
[00:17:05] It matters a lot because
[00:17:07] I remember the song
[00:17:09] As soon as the song hit
[00:17:10] My memory went back
[00:17:11] Blake Sheldon changed the words
[00:17:13] I'm not talking about Blake Sheldon
[00:17:16] That's the version that was in the movie
[00:17:18] I understand that
[00:17:19] That's the version you should have sang
[00:17:21] The version that I sang is the one that
[00:17:24] As soon as the song hit
[00:17:26] That's the version that runs through my mind
[00:17:28] It's the version I sang as a kid
[00:17:30] That I heard over and over again
[00:17:32] But that wasn't the version that was in the movie
[00:17:34] Talking about the movie
[00:17:35] That was not the version from the movie
[00:17:37] I can't believe he's getting upset
[00:17:38] That I remember his beloved TV show
[00:17:40] Better than the movie song
[00:17:42] Because you destroyed a song that I used to love
[00:17:45] Like you do every single time
[00:17:47] That's what pisses me off
[00:17:49] Oh, Murray
[00:17:50] I love this
[00:17:52] As far as I know
[00:17:54] Most of the people mentioned
[00:17:56] In that song are still alive
[00:17:58] Just saying
[00:18:00] Yeah, but a lot of them are
[00:18:02] Redford's still alive
[00:18:03] That's the chorus
[00:18:04] They could have left Redford in
[00:18:06] What is the Blake Sheldon version?
[00:18:08] I was probably talking while it was going on
[00:18:10] They talk about love
[00:18:11] Something about doing something for love
[00:18:13] He doesn't like replace it with like
[00:18:15] No, he doesn't mention it
[00:18:17] Cyrus, I don't know who
[00:18:18] No, he doesn't mention anybody
[00:18:20] Or a banana
[00:18:22] He doesn't mention a single star
[00:18:24] Not one
[00:18:25] That's the same person
[00:18:26] Like I said, he also destroyed it
[00:18:28] I'll tell you where we're going first place
[00:18:30] Anyway
[00:18:31] So wait a minute
[00:18:32] Hold on here
[00:18:33] I just want to make sure I'm completely clear
[00:18:34] Because there's a lot of rage being thrown around here
[00:18:36] Yes
[00:18:37] But what I really
[00:18:39] I know
[00:18:40] It's always fun
[00:18:41] So what I really want to be clear about
[00:18:43] Just so everybody who's listening
[00:18:45] Yes
[00:18:46] Is that
[00:18:47] Murray
[00:18:48] Even though the movie was not really like the TV show
[00:18:51] Even though it's kind of somewhat based on the TV show
[00:18:53] You would have preferred to have the music at the end
[00:18:56] Be the TV show version
[00:18:58] They got Lee Majors to come back for the damn cameo
[00:19:00] They could have had him sing a tune
[00:19:02] I'm pretty sure he tells his voice
[00:19:04] Just saying
[00:19:05] He did say stuff
[00:19:06] Why didn't they just use the original song?
[00:19:08] I just wanted to be clear about that
[00:19:10] Because apparently it's nothing like the TV show
[00:19:13] It's very little like the TV show
[00:19:15] Yeah so that's thinking why they didn't bring the music about it
[00:19:18] This is his favorite TV show
[00:19:19] I just heard the opening chords and I'm like
[00:19:21] Oh god now I'm gonna have that running through my head
[00:19:23] And I guess I didn't listen to it
[00:19:25] Because all I have is
[00:19:27] And by the way no I didn't google it
[00:19:29] I googled actually that's not true
[00:19:30] I googled the second one
[00:19:31] I absolutely knew the first verse
[00:19:33] Because that's
[00:19:35] Here's the thing when I listened to it
[00:19:37] And we sat through the entire credits
[00:19:39] I already forgot this theme song right after I left the version
[00:19:42] Because you never saw this show?
[00:19:43] Yeah because the show seems
[00:19:45] I'm like Murray I hate the theme song
[00:19:48] I love it
[00:19:50] But it still caused you to give it a mondo
[00:19:52] Alright Murray so what else you got to say about the fall guy?
[00:19:55] No the theme song gave it a
[00:19:56] I gave the theme song a rage
[00:19:57] I gave the movie a mondo
[00:19:59] Whatever problems the fall guy has
[00:20:04] Aren't really an issue
[00:20:05] What?
[00:20:06] When the final product is this much fun
[00:20:08] What?
[00:20:09] It's a loving tribute to the selflessness
[00:20:11] Of the stunt people wrapped
[00:20:13] Inside a romantic comedy
[00:20:15] And meta action film
[00:20:17] As much as I didn't like the mushy romantic stuff
[00:20:19] Between Blunt and Gosling
[00:20:21] They do make a cute couple
[00:20:23] They were cute
[00:20:24] They're both beautiful people
[00:20:25] They are
[00:20:26] Just like Marilyn Manson
[00:20:27] Ryan Gosling of course was awesome
[00:20:29] In the way he merged the reserved stuntman character
[00:20:32] Of Drive with his natural
[00:20:34] Energy
[00:20:36] His version of cold is pretty great
[00:20:38] Especially because he's not afraid to be vulnerable
[00:20:41] Which makes him more relatable and funny
[00:20:44] Emily Blunt is also a joy to watch
[00:20:46] Any scene she shares with Gosling
[00:20:48] Is effortless and charming
[00:20:50] She is effortless and charming
[00:20:52] Winston Duke is a solid supporting man
[00:20:54] To Gosling
[00:20:55] And FYI my favorite part of Black Panther
[00:20:59] I think he should be the next one
[00:21:01] But that's just my opinion
[00:21:03] Aaron Taylor Johnson does a hilarious
[00:21:05] McConaughey impression
[00:21:07] I thought it was more of Tom Cruise
[00:21:08] Except he didn't actually do his own stunts
[00:21:10] And Hannah Waddington's over-the-top producer
[00:21:12] Definitely landed
[00:21:14] Stephanie Thu
[00:21:16] If you didn't mention
[00:21:17] Yeah
[00:21:18] Has some good butt kicking scenes as well
[00:21:20] And John Claude the French dog was awesome
[00:21:24] She needs to win me over again
[00:21:26] Other than the butchering of the Fall Guy theme song
[00:21:29] Which Bryce is nice to have
[00:21:30] Bryce doesn't have to relive for me
[00:21:32] Apparently 15 minutes of our podcast is dedicated to
[00:21:34] Yeah
[00:21:35] And some bad karaoke
[00:21:37] I love the music in this film
[00:21:39] Emily Blunt needs to do more singing in films
[00:21:42] She absolutely nailed
[00:21:44] A Phil Collins classic
[00:21:46] Even some kiss to Nooch was very timely
[00:21:49] The plot is of course nonsense
[00:21:52] Much like many of my favorite 80s TV shows
[00:21:55] I don't think too hard about it
[00:21:57] You can just shut your brain off and enjoy the ride
[00:21:59] Which I didn't think Bryce was capable of
[00:22:01] This film is a lot of fun
[00:22:05] I like having fun
[00:22:07] Why do people think they want to have fun?
[00:22:09] You don't like having fun
[00:22:11] Usually you're the least unfoned person
[00:22:13] I can't quite give it a mon...
[00:22:16] What is happening right now?
[00:22:18] Because of my fond memories of the TV show
[00:22:21] Oh for crying in a bucket
[00:22:23] It is still the best 80s TV remake I've seen
[00:22:26] And so a very high man
[00:22:28] Oh there you go
[00:22:30] It was sad to me being honest
[00:22:32] I could have modeled the shit out of that and I didn't
[00:22:34] Apparently a high man
[00:22:36] Apparently a high man is very different than a Mando
[00:22:39] Yeah that's what
[00:22:41] If they didn't make it a love story it would have been a Mando
[00:22:43] That's all I'm saying
[00:22:45] All we're saying is you gave it a high man
[00:22:47] Which is different than a Mando
[00:22:51] You know what this has been the most fun I've ever had
[00:22:54] Talking about a movie that I didn't love
[00:22:56] The only things I really liked about this movie
[00:22:59] I love all the actors
[00:23:01] All the actors was fantastic
[00:23:03] I love the dog
[00:23:05] I actually love the dedication to the stuntman
[00:23:08] And the homage to them at the end
[00:23:10] There's a lot of things to have fun in this movie about
[00:23:13] What I just couldn't get into that whole love story
[00:23:16] That sucked it too much out for me
[00:23:19] Yeah it wasn't necessary
[00:23:21] And it wasn't really necessary
[00:23:23] Yeah because they could have cut 25 minutes out of it
[00:23:26] It should have been 90 minutes
[00:23:28] This might be my favorite rom-com ever
[00:23:31] I don't know if I have a favorite
[00:23:33] I do now it's the fall guy
[00:23:35] My favorite rom-com has to be Amelie still
[00:23:39] It's the only movie that I could ever say
[00:23:41] You're gonna call that a rom-com?
[00:23:43] It's an absolute rom-com
[00:23:45] They fall in love at the end
[00:23:47] And it's funny as fuck
[00:23:49] It is funny
[00:23:51] So that's what a rom-com is
[00:23:53] In fact that's the only rom-com I like
[00:23:55] Love, sorry, love
[00:23:57] Moving on to movies I don't care about
[00:23:59] I also love La La Land
[00:24:01] Ryan Gosling, there you go
[00:24:03] Moving on
[00:24:05] I think Marie might bring up Ryan Gosling later in this episode
[00:24:07] I'm just saying
[00:24:09] You may be
[00:24:11] Rye Rye
[00:24:13] Alright so we also went to see a movie called Tarot
[00:24:17] As in cards
[00:24:19] Yeah
[00:24:23] Another PG rated horror film
[00:24:25] Or as I like to say
[00:24:27] A Goosebumps episode
[00:24:29] It's only an hour and a half long episode of Goosebumps
[00:24:33] This one girl does everything she knows is wrong
[00:24:37] As I'm putting in quotes medium
[00:24:39] Although it seemed a little extra well done to me
[00:24:43] And reads someone else's tarot deck
[00:24:47] And then the evil tarot deck
[00:24:49] Stupidly and conveniently kills mostly everyone
[00:24:53] Except for some reason a couple of people
[00:24:57] And then everything is predictable and nothing really made any sense
[00:25:01] Except that I hated every single thing about this film
[00:25:05] No wait, some of the zoom in shots
[00:25:07] Where the tarot monster
[00:25:09] Depending on which tarot monster we're thinking of
[00:25:11] Of choice
[00:25:13] Zooms in on people before they kill them
[00:25:17] Off screen of course
[00:25:19] We're kind of cool
[00:25:21] That is the only thing I thought was cool in this movie
[00:25:25] Not cool enough to make this anything but a horrible horrible
[00:25:29] Most annoying rage of a horror film
[00:25:31] It was so completely awful
[00:25:33] I was in pain and suffering
[00:25:35] Yeah it's just total garbage
[00:25:37] I mean I'm not going to waste anybody's time here
[00:25:39] Tarot was bad
[00:25:41] It was like
[00:25:43] They had like little
[00:25:45] Basically it was a movie
[00:25:47] That was getting you to the next jump scare
[00:25:49] The problem is
[00:25:51] Is that when you have that many jump scares
[00:25:53] Number one the first one was ineffective
[00:25:55] And then once you're into like the twelfth one
[00:25:57] They're really ineffective
[00:25:59] So the only thing that it was basing itself on
[00:26:01] Is getting you to that jump scare
[00:26:03] Was just completely watered down
[00:26:05] By the time you got to the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth
[00:26:09] However many there were
[00:26:11] And it was just so
[00:26:13] It was just so nothing
[00:26:15] Like it was nothing
[00:26:17] I mean I guess I learned that you don't
[00:26:19] You know when you mix tarot and astrology
[00:26:21] And things happen
[00:26:23] I think the total message was
[00:26:25] Don't touch somebody else's shit
[00:26:27] Maybe there's a positive message
[00:26:29] You know what I might take
[00:26:31] This is a positive message for people
[00:26:33] Don't fuck with people's shit
[00:26:35] You don't use someone else's tarot deck
[00:26:37] That's just something you don't do
[00:26:39] But it's my birthday
[00:26:41] Oh okay well then I'll do it
[00:26:43] Let's do it
[00:26:45] What? You just said
[00:26:47] What?
[00:26:49] This movie was a total piece of crap
[00:26:51] It's another pile
[00:26:53] You know if someone throw on the pile of PG
[00:26:55] Garbage that's out there
[00:26:57] For horror
[00:26:59] This one isn't even a good gateway to a good horror
[00:27:01] Movie it's just garbage
[00:27:03] It was total rage
[00:27:05] Yeah the um
[00:27:07] The thing that made me laugh the most
[00:27:09] Was us having
[00:27:11] Chitter chatter through the movie
[00:27:13] Although there was two other people in the cinema
[00:27:15] They came in late
[00:27:17] But we hopefully
[00:27:19] If they weren't there we would have had a lot more fun watching this
[00:27:21] Probably
[00:27:23] There's a part in the movie
[00:27:25] I don't care if I fucking spoil this movie
[00:27:27] Because it's so terrible I pray
[00:27:29] That people that listen to us
[00:27:31] Listen to us and do not see this film
[00:27:33] This isn't one of those so bad
[00:27:35] You gotta see it
[00:27:37] It's just so bad
[00:27:39] So the best part about it was
[00:27:41] First off everything is so predictable
[00:27:43] Completely predictable
[00:27:45] Completely stupid
[00:27:47] It's like yeah this could be happening
[00:27:49] I think I'm gonna walk home by myself
[00:27:51] And that happens so many times in the movie
[00:27:53] And then on top of that
[00:27:55] It's like
[00:27:57] The goal you're like
[00:27:59] I know there's somebody in this place
[00:28:01] And some bad shit is happening
[00:28:03] But you know what I'm gonna do
[00:28:05] I'm gonna go up into dark spaces
[00:28:07] Just for apparently no reason
[00:28:09] But the one that I love the most was I said
[00:28:11] Hey yeah how much you want to bet
[00:28:13] Spider-Man dude comes back later on
[00:28:15] And sure enough
[00:28:17] There he is which made absolutely no sense
[00:28:19] Because it made so much
[00:28:21] Not sense Marie
[00:28:23] That they had to put in the movie
[00:28:25] The reason why he did come back
[00:28:27] Yes then you got this
[00:28:29] Which was also stupid
[00:28:31] Which was really quite dumb
[00:28:33] Every other horror movie I've seen in my life
[00:28:35] No it's quite not like a lot of movies
[00:28:37] No it's not
[00:28:39] Because there was nothing redeeming bills
[00:28:41] You gotta admit those monsters when they're like
[00:28:43] Way back
[00:28:45] And then when they zoom forward
[00:28:47] And then next thing you know they're there
[00:28:49] Those shots were pretty cool
[00:28:51] Right? I don't know they weren't uncool
[00:28:53] Yeah there you go that's all I really wanted to know
[00:28:55] I just wanted to make sure they weren't uncool
[00:28:57] Alright they weren't uncool
[00:28:59] But that's the only reason
[00:29:01] If somebody edited those together
[00:29:03] In a two of two minute clip
[00:29:05] That would have been a good short to watch
[00:29:07] Yes
[00:29:09] Alright so we got to see
[00:29:11] The Korean film
[00:29:13] The Roundup
[00:29:15] Colin
[00:29:17] Oh
[00:29:19] Punishment
[00:29:21] Yes and it's not the stuff you put on your grass
[00:29:23] No
[00:29:25] No that's different
[00:29:27] That's just just roundup
[00:29:29] Yeah right? It's like I ain't no farming
[00:29:31] And stuff
[00:29:33] You know when my wife and I went to her
[00:29:35] Her family farmstead
[00:29:37] When we were first together
[00:29:39] And she pulled a carrot out of
[00:29:41] The ground
[00:29:43] And wiped it on her leg
[00:29:45] And eat it I almost said
[00:29:47] I can't kiss you ever again
[00:29:49] There you go
[00:29:51] And I didn't for a whole week until she brinsed with a lot of mouthwash
[00:29:53] And bleach
[00:29:55] Yeah I used to visit my cousins in the farm
[00:29:57] And I drank milk that basically
[00:29:59] Just came out of a cow
[00:30:01] She just sucked on a cow's meat
[00:30:03] Oh no it was in a jug on the table
[00:30:05] She just milked the cow
[00:30:07] And the eggs spread from the jug
[00:30:09] Right from the outer into your mouth
[00:30:11] I was afraid of cows back then
[00:30:13] I've done that with a lot of things
[00:30:15] It's all gross anyways
[00:30:17] You realize that's baby cow hormone
[00:30:19] I mean it's gross now
[00:30:21] But when you were 10 years ago
[00:30:23] You loved it
[00:30:25] Baby cow formula
[00:30:27] So that you can fatten up baby cow
[00:30:29] That's right
[00:30:31] I don't know why humans are consuming it
[00:30:33] It's gross
[00:30:35] Beel
[00:30:37] We better let Bryce talk about this
[00:30:39] That might be one
[00:30:41] That's his trigger
[00:30:43] I know it is
[00:30:45] The roundup punishment
[00:30:47] Ma Suk Do played by
[00:30:49] Ma Dong Suk
[00:30:51] Is a Korean cop
[00:30:53] He hits hard
[00:30:55] Real hard
[00:30:57] He is not very tech savvy
[00:30:59] So when he needs to investigate an online casino
[00:31:01] That uses forced labor
[00:31:03] That entices tech nerds to the Philippines
[00:31:07] And because one of those
[00:31:09] Nerds ends up dead
[00:31:11] Ma Suk Do
[00:31:13] Has to team up with some
[00:31:15] Cop tech nerds
[00:31:17] To bring down an organized crime empire
[00:31:19] Can you pause just for a second
[00:31:21] Because what made this so funny
[00:31:23] Is that as we're watching this movie
[00:31:25] I'm looking at Bryce going
[00:31:27] This is Bryce if he was a cop
[00:31:29] And then I
[00:31:31] Am the tech nerd
[00:31:33] That's actually sitting there
[00:31:35] It was so funny
[00:31:37] To bring down an organized crime empire
[00:31:39] To do this he needs money
[00:31:41] So in order to fund his police investigation
[00:31:43] He shakes down
[00:31:45] To rival crime syndicates
[00:31:47] Because I guess that's how it's done
[00:31:49] In Korea
[00:31:51] The criminals fund the police investigations
[00:31:53] To bring down the other criminals
[00:31:55] At least
[00:31:57] At least that's what happens when
[00:31:59] Super cop
[00:32:01] Ma Suk Do asks for assistance
[00:32:03] Not unlike the fall guy
[00:32:05] This was a whole lot of big
[00:32:07] Dumb fun
[00:32:09] I loved almost every single second of it
[00:32:11] The roundup punishment was
[00:32:13] Mondo
[00:32:15] Okay
[00:32:17] Alright let me tell you about this
[00:32:19] Movie
[00:32:21] Okay so on one
[00:32:23] Side
[00:32:25] We have a cop
[00:32:27] Who literally
[00:32:29] Punches every single person
[00:32:31] He comes in contact with
[00:32:33] With one
[00:32:35] On the other side
[00:32:37] You have a sociopath
[00:32:39] Who is his nemesis
[00:32:41] Who literally stabs every person
[00:32:43] He comes into contact with
[00:32:45] So stabby
[00:32:47] Our cop is played as Bryce has already said
[00:32:49] By none other than the power house action
[00:32:51] Korean beef cake
[00:32:53] Sook
[00:32:55] This film was so much fun
[00:32:57] As you have this cop
[00:32:59] Who basically makes all his own rules
[00:33:01] And does whatever it takes to solve a crime
[00:33:03] Which
[00:33:05] Includes extorting money from dirty casino dudes
[00:33:07] Cause
[00:33:09] As Bryce said
[00:33:11] They need seed money to set up a sting operation
[00:33:13] And
[00:33:15] They have run out of budget
[00:33:17] Plus
[00:33:19] Beats the living snot out of every single
[00:33:21] Person with usually one punch
[00:33:23] But sometimes that person
[00:33:25] Takes two punches
[00:33:27] Sometimes
[00:33:29] The layers of cybercrime in this film
[00:33:31] Are so deep and layered
[00:33:33] With lots of bad guys who double cross the other
[00:33:35] Bad guys
[00:33:37] The violence is super violent
[00:33:39] And there is lots of it
[00:33:41] Plus you also get time
[00:33:43] To catch up with regular police work
[00:33:45] So while it's not doing punchy and stabby
[00:33:47] You have
[00:33:49] The well written police work drama
[00:33:51] Take that
[00:33:53] Plus all the characters in this
[00:33:55] That were so well developed
[00:33:57] I mean like so so well
[00:33:59] Every single character
[00:34:01] There was a lot of characters
[00:34:03] You knew what you needed to know about all of them
[00:34:05] About every single one of them
[00:34:07] And it wasn't, it didn't feel long
[00:34:09] Like in contrast to
[00:34:11] The fall guy
[00:34:13] You still had lots of characters
[00:34:15] And you also did get development though
[00:34:17] It felt long
[00:34:19] And this is so funny
[00:34:21] And I now have a new phrase
[00:34:23] That I'm going to start using
[00:34:25] When I call people on the phone
[00:34:27] Ready for this, Mer?
[00:34:29] So if you get a call from me
[00:34:31] And I say, do you want to die?
[00:34:33] That was literally his catchphrase
[00:34:36] When he calls people
[00:34:38] Do you want to die?
[00:34:40] Do you want to die? Especially when they're people that
[00:34:42] He says in Korean
[00:34:44] Yeah he says in Korean in his subtitle
[00:34:46] He's like, do you want to die?
[00:34:48] And then of course the person's like
[00:34:50] No I don't
[00:34:52] He instantly throws him off his game
[00:34:54] The movie was a blast from start to finish
[00:34:56] I freaking loved every single second of this
[00:34:58] Movie it was MAH-HONDO
[00:35:06] So the good news with this
[00:35:08] Is there's like three other
[00:35:10] Movies involving this character
[00:35:12] What? There's the outlaws
[00:35:14] From 2017 and then they pushed
[00:35:16] Into high gear
[00:35:18] The roundup 2022
[00:35:20] Roundup No Way Out
[00:35:22] 2023 and then we got the
[00:35:24] Roundup Punishment 2024
[00:35:26] I think we're getting a 2025
[00:35:28] Roundup and I can't wait
[00:35:30] If we don't get a 2025 roundup
[00:35:32] If this was the fourth movie in the series
[00:35:34] This might be like the greatest
[00:35:36] You know, sequels
[00:35:38] That have ever been because this was the third
[00:35:40] Sequel and it was amazing
[00:35:44] You know, this is going to come up a little later
[00:35:46] In our podcast
[00:35:48] It's going to give you all a hint there
[00:35:50] But I have some unpacking to do
[00:35:52] There's a couple of scenes in this that are monumental
[00:35:54] When it comes to action films
[00:35:56] One is the motorcycle helmet scene
[00:35:58] Where he's trying to get information
[00:36:00] Trying to get information from this guy
[00:36:02] And he's like, yeah I'm not talking
[00:36:04] So what does he do?
[00:36:06] He puts a motorcycle helmet on
[00:36:08] And then literally punches a...
[00:36:10] But the thing is
[00:36:12] It's smart because if he didn't put the motorcycle helmet
[00:36:14] On the guy would be out
[00:36:16] And then he couldn't ask him anything
[00:36:18] So he had to put the helmet on
[00:36:20] So he'd just feel pain and not be unconscious
[00:36:22] And his
[00:36:24] Dude that has the Gucci bag
[00:36:26] The guy that they
[00:36:28] Convince him
[00:36:30] That they've hired him on to be
[00:36:32] This special
[00:36:34] Special undercover cop
[00:36:36] They give him this badge that's basically
[00:36:38] You know, it's just a fake badge
[00:36:40] That alone
[00:36:42] Those characters
[00:36:44] Were just so fun
[00:36:46] Yeah, I can't wait to
[00:36:48] Continue to watch this series
[00:36:50] And we gotta now catch up with all the other ones
[00:36:52] We gotta go watch one of these
[00:36:54] We do, absolutely, I'm definitely watching them
[00:36:56] It's great, I love this movie
[00:36:59] I wish The Fall Guy was as good as this
[00:37:01] The Fall Guy was as good in a different way
[00:37:03] No, it wasn't
[00:37:05] There was no love story in this movie
[00:37:07] So much fun
[00:37:09] Yeah
[00:37:11] Nothing wrong with a little love
[00:37:13] Yeah, there is
[00:37:15] All you need is love
[00:37:17] The Beatles taught me that
[00:37:19] Speaking of love
[00:37:21] Nothing gets your love juices flowing more than
[00:37:23] The Merman Minute
[00:37:25] Yeah, I'm instantly regretting this because
[00:37:27] I'm already in a rage state
[00:37:29] What?
[00:37:31] Uh oh
[00:37:33] Wait, let me try and guess
[00:37:35] It's your favorite major's movies
[00:37:37] It's your favorite
[00:37:39] 80s TV series
[00:37:41] Make sure you're a little closer
[00:37:43] Oh
[00:37:45] Now that one of my favorite 80s
[00:37:47] TV shows as I made into a feature
[00:37:49] length film starting the dreamy
[00:37:51] Ryan Gosling
[00:37:53] I'm gonna take a look at some of the other
[00:37:55] TV shows from the 80s
[00:37:57] Some have been made into films
[00:37:59] Some are just aching to be brought
[00:38:01] to the big screen
[00:38:03] Now, just a fair warning to you both
[00:38:05] What?
[00:38:07] Many of these shows were a big
[00:38:09] part of my childhood
[00:38:11] Uh oh
[00:38:13] And shaped who the Merman is
[00:38:15] So ridicule them at your own peril
[00:38:17] As
[00:38:19] my buddy Lou Frickna would say
[00:38:21] Well, mostly his alter ego Bruce
[00:38:23] You wouldn't like me when I'm angry
[00:38:25] As it happens
[00:38:27] most of the shows in this list were produced
[00:38:29] by Glenn A. Larson
[00:38:31] Okay
[00:38:33] First off, Magnum PI
[00:38:35] Which I just restarted watching again
[00:38:37] I've never seen this
[00:38:39] I'm talking the original
[00:38:41] You've just watched it again
[00:38:43] I started watching it again
[00:38:45] Because it has not aged well
[00:38:47] I still enjoyed it
[00:38:49] The only reason I bring it up
[00:38:51] because
[00:38:53] I actually had to watch an episode of Magnum PI
[00:38:55] The new one or the old one
[00:38:57] No, no, the old one
[00:38:59] I had to watch an episode with Tom Selleck
[00:39:01] At
[00:39:03] when I went to
[00:39:05] my girlfriend's parents house
[00:39:07] Yeah, yeah
[00:39:09] And wow
[00:39:11] It was a two part episode
[00:39:13] with Sharon Stone in it
[00:39:15] Where she played two roles
[00:39:17] But she was actually just schizophrenic
[00:39:19] apparently
[00:39:21] And it was
[00:39:23] unwatchable
[00:39:25] For you
[00:39:27] I've never seen it
[00:39:29] If I make a tenu with my moment of the show
[00:39:31] You can
[00:39:33] Okay, go ahead
[00:39:35] You're very fortunate
[00:39:37] Tom Selleck
[00:39:39] The man, the mustache
[00:39:41] Those shirts
[00:39:43] That Ferrari
[00:39:45] The winning smile
[00:39:47] And the locations
[00:39:49] Yes, it was shot in Hawaii
[00:39:51] Yet to be made into a film
[00:39:53] But it's due
[00:39:55] Unfortunately, the old Tom is a little long
[00:39:57] In the two
[00:39:59] They don't get that loser from the TV remake
[00:40:01] That is unwatchable
[00:40:03] I didn't even know there was a TV remake
[00:40:05] I have a funny story about the Magnum thing though
[00:40:07] That's my boss' nickname
[00:40:09] Is Magnum
[00:40:11] Well Magnum, Thomas Magnum is an ex Navy seal
[00:40:13] It was a PI
[00:40:15] I love my PI
[00:40:17] The show was not actually on here
[00:40:19] Which I just thought of
[00:40:21] Which is probably my all time detective show
[00:40:23] Remington Steel
[00:40:25] Freakin loved it
[00:40:27] Have every season on DVD
[00:40:29] The Brosnan
[00:40:31] That's not even on here
[00:40:33] No comment
[00:40:35] Yes, thank you for not commenting
[00:40:37] Next up
[00:40:39] The Fall Guy, having just seen the new film
[00:40:41] This one is fresh in my mind
[00:40:43] I highly recommend people
[00:40:45] Check out old reruns on YouTube
[00:40:47] They're free
[00:40:49] No comment
[00:40:51] Lots of cool things about the Fall Guy
[00:40:53] Lee Majors, Heather Thomas
[00:40:55] In a bikini most of the time
[00:40:57] Very cool pickup truck
[00:40:59] Cooler theme song
[00:41:01] Yes, Bryce, it was a cool theme song
[00:41:03] This show is just sheer fun
[00:41:05] I like to say this film was as good as the movie
[00:41:07] But it was
[00:41:09] We heard that
[00:41:11] The TV show
[00:41:13] They got Blake Shelton to ruin
[00:41:15] The original theme song
[00:41:17] Wasn't even listening
[00:41:19] That was obvious
[00:41:21] Next up, MacGyver
[00:41:23] Richard Dean Anderson
[00:41:25] I've never seen an episode
[00:41:27] I saw McGroober
[00:41:29] Yeah, I've seen McGroober
[00:41:31] That was better
[00:41:33] Richard Dean Anderson, Karen Maddock as hell
[00:41:35] Could make literally anything from nothing at all
[00:41:37] With paper clips and a last advance
[00:41:39] Never used a gun
[00:41:41] He hated guns, never had to
[00:41:43] He still ticked on the bad guys without using guns
[00:41:45] I hate guns, I probably would like this show, hey?
[00:41:47] MacGyver was kind of an American
[00:41:49] Janus Blonde
[00:41:51] But he was a bit geeky
[00:41:53] He was concerned about people's feelings in the environment
[00:41:55] It was educational
[00:41:57] I really like this guy
[00:41:59] This show was just prime for a big screen version
[00:42:01] Even if it was a kid from the X-Men movie
[00:42:03] As the new McGyver
[00:42:05] I'm pretty much McGyver, why don't you like me more, Merman?
[00:42:07] Because you make fun of stuff I love
[00:42:09] That's why
[00:42:11] There's your answer
[00:42:13] Next up we have
[00:42:15] Airwolf
[00:42:17] Oh my god, the helicopter
[00:42:19] This one didn't have many big names
[00:42:21] Apart from Ernest Borgnag
[00:42:23] Oh man
[00:42:25] Was this also one of your favorites?
[00:42:27] It was okay, I'm not a big aerial fan
[00:42:29] But a helicopter that moved like a jet plane
[00:42:31] Was pretty cool
[00:42:33] And they solved crimes
[00:42:35] Maybe not the greatest idea for a film
[00:42:37] Plus Roy Scheider already made Blue Thunder
[00:42:39] Sure did
[00:42:41] Then we have
[00:42:43] The Dukes of Hazard
[00:42:45] Oh no
[00:42:47] Sadly this has been made into a feature film
[00:42:49] Plus not a good one
[00:42:51] It's terrible but I'd still rather watch it than the Dukes of Hazard TV show
[00:42:53] Casting was a huge issue
[00:42:55] The guy from Jackass
[00:42:57] Stiffler from American Pie
[00:42:59] Yes
[00:43:01] Stump Jessica Simpson
[00:43:03] They even roped old Willie Nelson into it
[00:43:05] Colonel Willie
[00:43:07] Not sure he even did any acting before
[00:43:09] The original was horribly outdated
[00:43:11] With that Confederate flag
[00:43:13] On the roof
[00:43:15] And some of the politically incorrect storylines
[00:43:17] Still
[00:43:19] Big car chases and jumping over stuff
[00:43:21] A 10 year old me enjoyed the hell out of it
[00:43:23] Yeah
[00:43:25] It would start the jump and then they'd go to commercial
[00:43:27] You wouldn't get the way to survive
[00:43:29] Exactly
[00:43:31] There was no rewind near a fast forward
[00:43:33] And you had to sit through the commercial
[00:43:35] And you had to make sure you're back in your seat
[00:43:37] That's right
[00:43:39] So I have to say I did watch one episode of this
[00:43:41] Yes
[00:43:43] No comment
[00:43:45] There's someone called Boss Hog
[00:43:47] Was he in every episode?
[00:43:49] Yes
[00:43:51] And his brother-in-law
[00:43:53] Roscoe
[00:43:55] was the sheriff
[00:43:57] And every episode they're trying to catch the Dukes
[00:43:59] That was all you have to know
[00:44:01] So bad
[00:44:03] The 13 year old me
[00:44:05] enjoyed Daisy Dukes
[00:44:07] Who doesn't?
[00:44:09] I mean she didn't get those
[00:44:11] Like it's literally
[00:44:13] Pants that are named after her
[00:44:15] Right? I mean nobody on this planet
[00:44:17] has pants named after them
[00:44:19] She's like Connick
[00:44:21] Anyway then we have
[00:44:23] Night Rider
[00:44:25] Now we're talking
[00:44:27] This is a talking car
[00:44:29] This show is so cool to me as a boy
[00:44:31] in the early 80s
[00:44:33] It's not to like about it
[00:44:35] The force of nature that is Hasselhoff
[00:44:37] A jet black
[00:44:39] Pontiac transam
[00:44:41] artificial intelligence
[00:44:43] and a cool red light on the front
[00:44:45] A watch you can talk to
[00:44:47] I have a watch I can talk to
[00:44:49] And a big truck
[00:44:51] Mixing some cheesy storylines
[00:44:53] and it sounds like a recipe for a legendary Glenn A. Larson show
[00:44:55] Awesome stuff
[00:44:57] This has fortunately
[00:44:59] You're unfortunately not made into a film yet
[00:45:01] I guess in the world of
[00:45:03] Apple watches and self-driving cars
[00:45:05] Maybe it's time has passed
[00:45:07] No I think it's
[00:45:09] I guarantee in the next three years
[00:45:11] there will be a Night Rider film
[00:45:13] You know what? When we have that
[00:45:15] We're gonna go back and put this clip
[00:45:17] into that episode
[00:45:19] Still my favorite show from the 80s
[00:45:21] And the very few I own every season of
[00:45:23] Don't you already have a favorite
[00:45:25] you said Remington Steel was
[00:45:27] That's a favorite detective show
[00:45:29] So it wasn't Kit and the Kaboodle
[00:45:31] It was Kit and Kaboodle
[00:45:33] Kit was the car and Kaboodle
[00:45:35] Kaboodle was the guy who sat in it
[00:45:37] The car was the evil version who tried to kill Kit
[00:45:39] Wait was the car tried to kill Kit
[00:45:41] Yeah car was the original prototype but it was evil
[00:45:43] Oh
[00:45:45] Was that just like one episode or was that
[00:45:47] No that was the whole story
[00:45:49] Really? How come I don't remember that
[00:45:51] So who was Kaboodle? Who sat in the car
[00:45:53] That was the Hoth
[00:45:55] The Hoth was Mike and Knight
[00:45:57] The Baywatch guy?
[00:45:59] So did Night Rider ever do a crossover with
[00:46:01] Manimal?
[00:46:03] No but that was actually on the list too
[00:46:05] I didn't actually bring it up
[00:46:07] Wait is this you're talking about the same guy that's in
[00:46:09] SpongeBob movie
[00:46:11] Manimal? No
[00:46:13] The Hoth. He's also in Piranha 3
[00:46:15] Double D as well. Yes I remember that
[00:46:17] There you go that's the Hoth
[00:46:19] Like I said the force of nature
[00:46:21] That is David Hasselhoff
[00:46:23] Germans love David Hasselhoff
[00:46:25] And he sings
[00:46:27] You could call it that
[00:46:29] And finally we have the A-T
[00:46:31] What there's more
[00:46:33] Two but two more
[00:46:35] The A-Team
[00:46:37] Other than Mr. T
[00:46:39] The fact they had to
[00:46:41] Drug him to get him on a plane
[00:46:43] Yes
[00:46:45] Mr. T don't fly
[00:46:47] Well BA Barracas don't fly
[00:46:49] Yeah I've seen it episode of the deal
[00:46:51] Badass
[00:46:53] Bad attitude
[00:46:55] They couldn't say ass back then
[00:46:57] Still the show was wall to wall action
[00:46:59] And had a really cool van
[00:47:01] And I don't
[00:47:03] This show was unfortunately made into a feature film
[00:47:05] Yes
[00:47:07] With Liam Neeson
[00:47:09] I could not be bothered to watch this movie
[00:47:11] What? Liam Neeson couldn't even
[00:47:13] Drag you to this movie?
[00:47:15] I think Brad Cooper was in it too
[00:47:17] Stick to the TV show
[00:47:19] I remember seeing the movie
[00:47:21] And we have an honorable mention which you already mentioned
[00:47:23] I did
[00:47:25] There's chips
[00:47:27] Probably the only show I watched where I cheered for
[00:47:29] Ponsh
[00:47:31] Skin tight trousers
[00:47:33] Aviator glasses
[00:47:35] Harley motorbikes
[00:47:37] Ericka strada
[00:47:39] Also never seen an episode
[00:47:41] What's the other guy's name?
[00:47:43] Baker
[00:47:45] What actor?
[00:47:47] Larry
[00:47:49] Really you can remember the actor?
[00:47:51] I'm already impressed you got Larry
[00:47:53] Wow
[00:47:55] You just blew me away
[00:47:57] Chris Pines dad
[00:47:59] Wow
[00:48:01] Played the sergeant
[00:48:03] The original pine
[00:48:05] He's learning me stuff
[00:48:07] I'm all about the 80s
[00:48:09] This was unfortunately made into a film
[00:48:11] With the talentless Dax Shepard
[00:48:13] I like Dax Shepard sometimes
[00:48:15] I can't believe Ericka strada was part of this
[00:48:17] I think he was a producer on it
[00:48:19] And allowed them to destroy the memory of this awesome show
[00:48:21] He did it for the money
[00:48:23] I guess I keep hoping they'll eventually
[00:48:25] Make a good version of it
[00:48:27] Till then I have my
[00:48:29] TV box
[00:48:31] There you go
[00:48:33] Nice
[00:48:35] I love the 80s
[00:48:37] What can I say
[00:48:39] I love the 80s
[00:48:41] I know you guys don't
[00:48:43] Temperature rising
[00:48:45] Vision blurring
[00:48:47] Rage
[00:48:49] Taking over
[00:48:58] Rage
[00:49:00] Rage
[00:49:08] Alright so
[00:49:10] I have actually a few
[00:49:12] Well I have two specific rages for this week
[00:49:14] So I'm going to end
[00:49:16] With the one that I had first
[00:49:18] But
[00:49:20] The one that made me the most rage
[00:49:22] Was
[00:49:24] There was a moment in
[00:49:26] One of the movies
[00:49:28] That Bryce was at on Monday
[00:49:30] That
[00:49:32] I had this epiphany
[00:49:34] Oh yeah your epiphany
[00:49:36] Yes
[00:49:38] So here's my epiphany
[00:49:40] What I want to do is I just want to make a quick
[00:49:42] Little list here
[00:49:46] So the top
[00:49:48] 20
[00:49:50] Grossing American made films
[00:49:52] Okay
[00:49:54] Like ever
[00:49:56] Ever
[00:49:58] Avatar
[00:50:00] Another avatar movie
[00:50:02] Titanic, Star Wars Episode something
[00:50:04] Avengers
[00:50:06] Infinity something
[00:50:08] Jurassic World something
[00:50:10] The Lion King
[00:50:12] The Avengers
[00:50:14] Furious 7
[00:50:16] Top Gun Maverick
[00:50:18] Frozen 2
[00:50:20] Barbie
[00:50:22] Avengers Age of something
[00:50:24] Frozen 1
[00:50:26] Super Mario Brothers
[00:50:28] Star Wars Episode something
[00:50:30] So all but two
[00:50:32] Were either remakes or
[00:50:36] Or they were based on some
[00:50:38] TV show or toy
[00:50:40] Or were they also something that potentially
[00:50:44] Became another sequel because
[00:50:46] Wasn't there a
[00:50:48] So wasn't Titanic
[00:50:50] Was by itself
[00:50:52] Was there a Titanic 2?
[00:50:54] No
[00:50:56] At the end
[00:50:58] That's the top 20
[00:51:00] I still haven't got to my epiphany yet
[00:51:02] There's two original ideas in there by the way
[00:51:04] There was a box office
[00:51:06] I just randomly
[00:51:08] Pulled a country
[00:51:10] From my ass which happened to be Korea
[00:51:12] So in Korea
[00:51:14] I don't think he randomly pulled Korea
[00:51:16] You are correct
[00:51:18] I did not randomly pick it
[00:51:20] So the top 10
[00:51:22] In Korea
[00:51:24] There was only two
[00:51:26] And I'm not going to list them down
[00:51:28] There was only two movies out of their top 10
[00:51:30] That were
[00:51:32] Sequels or
[00:51:34] Remakes or
[00:51:36] Whatever
[00:51:38] So ultimately what my rage is
[00:51:40] And the epiphany that I came upon
[00:51:42] Was that the entire
[00:51:44] Hollywood movie industry
[00:51:46] Is surviving on
[00:51:48] Either A, nostalgia
[00:51:50] Or B, remakes
[00:51:52] Redos and reshit
[00:51:54] This is my rage this week
[00:51:56] Because 99 times out of 100
[00:51:58] I fucking hate these movies so badly
[00:52:00] Because either A
[00:52:02] The originals
[00:52:04] Is only really what you need
[00:52:06] And just other countries
[00:52:08] Around the world just keep making
[00:52:10] Original content
[00:52:12] And it still sells in their movie theaters
[00:52:14] So what is it about North America
[00:52:16] And I picked North America
[00:52:18] Sorry, let's not include Mexico in this
[00:52:20] So Canada in the US
[00:52:22] That all we seem to get is fucking shit
[00:52:24] And that's all it is, it's all just fucking shit
[00:52:26] None of it's good
[00:52:28] The top 20 movies
[00:52:30] Of all of them I maybe liked one
[00:52:32] It leads me to infuriate myself
[00:52:34] I like more than one
[00:52:36] At least 70% of those
[00:52:38] The exception of maybe James Cameron stuff
[00:52:40] My favorite is still the abyss
[00:52:42] No I think there was one out here that I liked
[00:52:44] That's about it
[00:52:46] Maybe two
[00:52:48] Was it Avatar
[00:52:50] No
[00:52:52] You can keep guessing but there's only two
[00:52:54] Maybe I don't think any of those were
[00:52:56] Gave was Mondos
[00:52:58] Because you know what
[00:53:00] There's only one good Star Wars movie
[00:53:02] And it wasn't in the top 20
[00:53:04] So that's my first rage
[00:53:06] I can't take this
[00:53:08] World we live in in North America
[00:53:10] But my second rage
[00:53:12] What's with the multiple rages
[00:53:14] I can't help it
[00:53:16] Which is also a sequel
[00:53:18] Which Brace is looking forward to
[00:53:20] I thought you did, you love apes
[00:53:22] I love the new version
[00:53:24] The new version is so much better
[00:53:26] There's a counter point to your thing
[00:53:28] The originals were all crap
[00:53:30] The originals were horrible
[00:53:32] They were awesome
[00:53:34] It was as awesome as the fall guy
[00:53:36] Okay, so my second rage
[00:53:38] My second rage
[00:53:40] I make it quick
[00:53:42] I'm watching switchback
[00:53:44] Christian Sparks
[00:53:46] The director of the king tide
[00:53:48] Uh huh
[00:53:50] Which Brace and I
[00:53:52] Absolutely loved
[00:53:54] That's right
[00:53:56] So just so everybody knows
[00:53:58] He released a second movie
[00:54:00] At the exact same time in cinemas
[00:54:02] So we on the west coast
[00:54:04] Were able to get the king tide
[00:54:06] But the east coast
[00:54:08] Got his next movie
[00:54:10] That came out just after it
[00:54:12] And we didn't get it
[00:54:14] And now it's pissing me off
[00:54:16] Because I'm like
[00:54:18] Do you think that only the people in the east
[00:54:20] Would appreciate his amazing brilliance as a director
[00:54:22] Cause I went back and watched a couple of his other movies
[00:54:24] He's fucking brilliant
[00:54:26] And we should be able to see all his movies
[00:54:28] All the time
[00:54:30] So if you're gonna release
[00:54:32] Now probably one of my favorite directors
[00:54:34] In cinema
[00:54:36] Let me see it
[00:54:38] Those are my two rages
[00:54:40] We just lost our
[00:54:42] Our indie theater
[00:54:44] Officially closed
[00:54:46] No that's our art house
[00:54:48] Main stream
[00:54:50] Not art house, indie
[00:54:52] The place that plays the indie movies you guys love
[00:54:54] Plaza?
[00:54:56] The globe
[00:54:58] You mean the mainstream art house cinema?
[00:55:00] The one that shows the independent movies
[00:55:02] And not so much the blockbuster
[00:55:04] No it plays art house films
[00:55:06] It plays them both
[00:55:08] It's closed now so good luck trying to find them
[00:55:10] Anywhere else
[00:55:12] Yep that's my rage
[00:55:14] Is
[00:55:16] Didn't you have a second rage?
[00:55:18] That was it
[00:55:20] I have a third rage
[00:55:22] I got lots I can rage on
[00:55:24] Enough rage in this show already
[00:55:47] My rage
[00:55:49] Is dedicated to Merman
[00:55:51] Cause I might fall from a tall building
[00:55:53] I might roll a brand new car
[00:55:55] Cause I'm the unknown stunt
[00:55:57] Man that made Redford such a star
[00:55:59] Hey Merman
[00:56:01] Turn me up
[00:56:03] That's just wrong
[00:56:05] Are you gonna stop singing then?
[00:56:07] Yes
[00:56:09] But that is still just
[00:56:11] That's still just wrong
[00:56:13] My rage is that I actually can't get the tv theme out of my head
[00:56:15] After watching the movie
[00:56:17] Oh just wait till I play Lee Majors version
[00:56:19] Wait, Lee Majors also has a version?
[00:56:21] That's who sang the theme song
[00:56:23] For five goddamn years
[00:56:25] How would I know?
[00:56:27] I've never seen it
[00:56:29] That's who sang the song
[00:56:31] The point I came across was
[00:56:33] They put him in the movie why don't they just let him sing the original
[00:56:35] Because he's not a superstar
[00:56:37] Like Blake
[00:56:39] Like Shelton
[00:56:41] He does nothing now
[00:56:43] He's done nothing
[00:56:45] He left the boys
[00:56:47] No he's married to
[00:56:49] Gwen Stefani
[00:56:51] He wishes he was married to
[00:56:53] Who doesn't?
[00:56:55] Exactly I wish I was
[00:56:57] So Blake Stettler
[00:56:59] Blake Stettler yeah sure
[00:57:01] Stepford wife?
[00:57:03] You're upset because Blake Stettler sang the song?
[00:57:05] I'm upset that he changed the words
[00:57:07] I wouldn't be okay if he kept the original words
[00:57:09] And just sang it I could have lived with that
[00:57:11] I kinda wish you would have left before the credits rolled
[00:57:13] No
[00:57:15] You left before the credits rolled?
[00:57:17] No I wish you would have
[00:57:19] You're like a dog on a bone with this thing
[00:57:21] You know what this may come up in a future episode
[00:57:23] That's all I'm gonna say
[00:57:25] There's probably gonna be a fall guy too
[00:57:27] I may make you listen to the original
[00:57:29] I've heard the original
[00:57:31] Multiple times
[00:57:33] That's why it's the one in my head
[00:57:35] I may call you and leave it on your answering machine
[00:57:37] Just so you can listen to it again
[00:57:39] I never hit play on my answering machine
[00:57:41] Just ask my mother
[00:57:43] Or me
[00:57:45] Or higher what do you call it
[00:57:47] Sing in telegrams and be outside your door
[00:57:49] If you put through the effort for that
[00:57:51] I would actually make me smile
[00:57:53] Anyway, I happen to love this song
[00:57:55] Is that your only rage? That's all you got?
[00:57:57] Yeah, I can't get that bloody song out of my head
[00:57:59] Too damn bad
[00:58:01] I already forgot it
[00:58:03] I could sing it again
[00:58:05] No
[00:58:07] Rage subsiding
[00:58:09] Plus, song
[00:58:11] Hinger feeding
[00:58:15] Oh the last
[00:58:17] Where have you been
[00:58:19] So long ago
[00:58:21] We had the lists
[00:58:23] So for everyone listening
[00:58:25] Go to our website, Film Rage YYC
[00:58:27] Check out our page called
[00:58:29] None of a thing other than the lists
[00:58:31] And we have five lists on there
[00:58:33] We have the undoubted
[00:58:35] The doubted, the mesmerizing
[00:58:37] And the repulsive
[00:58:39] Plus we also have
[00:58:41] Previously removed
[00:58:43] Mesmerized or repulsive
[00:58:45] Which we haven't removed anybody
[00:58:47] But we have the most people that have been removed
[00:58:49] From the mesmerized list
[00:58:51] And
[00:58:53] Looks like Bryce after seeing
[00:58:55] 30 movies in 11 days
[00:58:57] Had time after
[00:58:59] To be able to watch more movies this week
[00:59:01] So
[00:59:03] Sounds like you got to see Full Metal Jacket
[00:59:05] Which is the only movie we're still waiting
[00:59:07] To find out if it was a mondo
[00:59:09] So that Stanley Kubrick
[00:59:11] Can be undoubted
[00:59:13] Yeah, it needed to be a mondo because I's wide shot
[00:59:15] That's correct
[00:59:17] Before Full Metal Jacket was the shining
[00:59:19] Which was a mondo
[00:59:21] So as long as Full Metal Jacket was a mondo
[00:59:23] Then he gets out
[00:59:25] Because everything else there Barry Linden mondo
[00:59:27] Clockworker on mondo, Space Odyssey mondo
[00:59:29] Dr. Strangelove mondo, The lead of mondo
[00:59:31] It's actually
[00:59:33] Too bad he didn't stop making movies in 1980
[00:59:35] Because I'm sorry Kubrick
[00:59:37] Full Metal Jacket was a man
[00:59:39] It was better than I remember it being
[00:59:41] And the first
[00:59:43] 25-30 minutes
[00:59:45] Armando
[00:59:47] It doesn't hold up throughout the whole
[00:59:49] No, it really doesn't
[00:59:51] It does. Me love it
[00:59:53] Long time. It's a good movie
[00:59:55] It's a very good movie but I'm sorry
[00:59:57] I wanted to give it a mondo but I can't
[00:59:59] Look you in the eyes and tell you that that movie
[01:00:01] Was mondo for me
[01:00:03] But as I say, he would have stopped
[01:00:05] Making movies with the shining
[01:00:07] He would have been fine because then the two before
[01:00:09] That would have been Spartacus and Pads of Glory
[01:00:11] And guess what? Those were both mondo
[01:00:13] Well, you know what
[01:00:15] It's just the way things are
[01:00:17] So I'm sorry
[01:00:19] I really wanted to love it
[01:00:21] I did and I watched it
[01:00:23] And initially
[01:00:25] Like man, Harley and me is so good
[01:00:27] In fact
[01:00:29] That I was like this is amazing right now
[01:00:31] And unfortunately once
[01:00:33] Once he dies
[01:00:35] Man, the rest of the movie was okay
[01:00:37] It didn't sustain enough to give to mondo
[01:00:39] I enjoyed it a lot
[01:00:41] And I'm glad I rewatched it because I didn't remember
[01:00:43] Being as good as it is
[01:00:45] But it still wasn't as great
[01:00:47] As you wanted me to think it was
[01:00:49] Well, I still think it is great
[01:00:51] I know you do
[01:00:53] And in your mind he's undoubted
[01:00:55] That's why you brought him up
[01:00:57] And it was close
[01:00:59] In my mind, he's undoubted up until 1980
[01:01:01] If only
[01:01:03] People could have a block of time where they're undoubted
[01:01:05] Did he die like 95 or something?
[01:01:07] No, no, he made eyes wide shut
[01:01:09] 99
[01:01:11] He died soon after eyes wide shut
[01:01:13] Anyways, so I'm sorry
[01:01:15] I feel bad because I actually
[01:01:17] I thought it had a chance and then as I'm watching
[01:01:19] I'm like hey this has a chance and it was okay
[01:01:21] Sometimes
[01:01:23] There's probably an
[01:01:25] 80s TV song that says sometimes
[01:01:27] Something
[01:01:29] Cars in action
[01:01:31] Sometimes cars in action
[01:01:33] I don't know what we're going with here
[01:01:35] And Stan the Kubrick
[01:01:37] Was undoubted
[01:01:39] If only we would have stopped making movies
[01:01:41] After The Shining
[01:01:43] That's right
[01:01:45] So, you know what
[01:01:47] I know we've talked about Ryan Gosling before
[01:01:49] Okay
[01:01:51] But I'm pretty sure the Merman
[01:01:53] Rai Rai
[01:01:55] Merman wants to put
[01:01:57] Never even attempted
[01:01:59] Why wouldn't you attempt it?
[01:02:01] Two reasons. One, getting you two on board
[01:02:03] Is really a miracle
[01:02:05] Why? Why?
[01:02:07] I don't want to see him taking off next week
[01:02:09] Can I just say something?
[01:02:11] I really, really, really like
[01:02:13] Ryan Gosling
[01:02:15] I mean he's so much better
[01:02:17] Than that other Ryan who's
[01:02:19] Deplorable
[01:02:21] He's terrible
[01:02:23] But Ryan Gosling, he's an actor
[01:02:25] He's not just doing his shawarmy bit
[01:02:27] Getting through on his charm
[01:02:29] Well you want to hear some really good news then
[01:02:31] What?
[01:02:33] Ryan Gosling has decided
[01:02:35] To stop making
[01:02:37] Serious dark films
[01:02:39] What?
[01:02:41] For the sake of his family
[01:02:43] That'll last until they grow up
[01:02:45] So he is now going to be making
[01:02:47] Ryan Reynolds shawarmy comedy
[01:02:49] Film
[01:02:51] There you go
[01:02:53] Jim, how could you even put this through
[01:02:55] Unless it, no it did
[01:02:57] It was in the theaters because I know it came out on
[01:02:59] Netflix almost at the same time
[01:03:01] But no it wasn't
[01:03:03] What are you talking about?
[01:03:05] I'm talking about Ryan Gosling being undoubted
[01:03:07] Yeah I understand that
[01:03:09] We can't go because now we know everybody's
[01:03:11] Rating for this week
[01:03:13] He already can't make it because his last two films were
[01:03:15] Man
[01:03:17] But unfortunately the gray man
[01:03:19] Was a rage
[01:03:21] How can that be anything but a rage
[01:03:23] The gray man was awful
[01:03:25] It isn't very good
[01:03:27] But first man
[01:03:29] But okay so
[01:03:31] So we talked about how gray
[01:03:33] He is, do we think he's mesmerizing then
[01:03:35] The nice guys
[01:03:37] I absolutely do, like I said I would never
[01:03:39] Big short
[01:03:41] Put anybody I truly love on this list
[01:03:43] If you guys would tear them down
[01:03:45] The next week so
[01:03:47] It ain't happening
[01:03:49] You want to put them on there I'll agree with you
[01:03:51] Well that's what I'm asking Bryce do you think
[01:03:53] Ryan Gosling is mesmerizing
[01:03:55] Yeah that's a question
[01:03:57] You said undoubted
[01:03:59] Well I did but we already figured that out
[01:04:01] He can't be undoubted
[01:04:03] It's too bad because man
[01:04:05] If you just get rid of the gray man
[01:04:07] He's literally
[01:04:09] Mondo, Mondo, Mondo, Mondo
[01:04:11] It's just the gray man why did he make that
[01:04:13] No it's not
[01:04:15] His last two movies were mess
[01:04:17] So he can't be undoubted
[01:04:19] He has to just start over
[01:04:21] He's just starting over it's okay
[01:04:23] Fall guy, Mondo, Barbie, Mondo
[01:04:25] I don't know what you're talking about
[01:04:27] I don't know what you're watching
[01:04:29] What were you watching
[01:04:31] Are you high right now
[01:04:33] I wish I was high right now
[01:04:35] Anyways is he mesmerizing
[01:04:37] That's the question
[01:04:39] I forgot about only God forgives
[01:04:41] He's
[01:04:43] I want to say
[01:04:45] I believe he is
[01:04:47] Let me just
[01:04:49] Can you tell me you actually like the nice guys too
[01:04:51] Yeah
[01:04:53] It's Mondo
[01:04:55] I agree but
[01:04:57] I don't know why you think
[01:04:59] You know what I like
[01:05:01] You obviously have no idea
[01:05:03] Well I used to
[01:05:05] He used to be so transparent
[01:05:07] Now you're complex
[01:05:09] I've always been complex
[01:05:11] He used to be
[01:05:13] Used to be fucking dynamic
[01:05:15] But now you're just complex
[01:05:17] This is a simple question
[01:05:19] Is he mesmerizing or is he not
[01:05:21] It's a yes or no answer
[01:05:23] I just don't want to say yes
[01:05:25] And then immediately have to go oh yeah
[01:05:27] But what about that movie
[01:05:29] Well we
[01:05:31] You know what
[01:05:33] I'm going yes
[01:05:37] Ryan Gosling is mesmerizing
[01:05:39] And I also agree that
[01:05:41] Ryan Gosling is mesmerizing
[01:05:43] What do you say is
[01:05:45] Ryan Gosling mesmerizing Murray
[01:05:47] I've always said that
[01:05:49] I'm going forward
[01:05:51] Because I just gave you the reasons
[01:05:53] Because everything I love
[01:05:55] You tear down
[01:05:57] Which is why I stopped submitting stuff
[01:05:59] Yes you do
[01:06:01] Don't even try to deny it
[01:06:03] Mister knows how to sing
[01:06:05] The wrong Fall Guy song
[01:06:07] I thought it was the right Fall Guy song
[01:06:09] You also tore down one of my
[01:06:11] It's the Fall Guy song he likes
[01:06:13] I don't understand what's going on
[01:06:15] Why are you hung up on this
[01:06:17] Because you pissed me off this episode
[01:06:19] That's why
[01:06:21] The most important thing is
[01:06:23] Ryan Gosling
[01:06:25] Mesmerizing
[01:06:27] Alright well
[01:06:29] Now we have more people
[01:06:31] We gotta now
[01:06:33] We now have another person
[01:06:35] That potentially
[01:06:37] Some of our people that
[01:06:39] We haven't been able to take off
[01:06:41] Potentially they gotta battle against the Rai Rai
[01:06:43] They gotta go against the Rai Rai
[01:06:45] I'm not calling the Rai Rai
[01:06:47] I predict he's gonna be gone next week
[01:06:49] You don't know
[01:06:51] Oh my god Murman
[01:06:53] You do understand what mesmerizing means
[01:06:55] Did you lose your tail buddy
[01:06:57] What is going on
[01:06:59] He's mesmerizing
[01:07:01] We all believe he's mesmerizing
[01:07:03] You're like doing an impression at Eor right now
[01:07:05] I lost my tail
[01:07:07] Again
[01:07:11] Plus we don't know
[01:07:13] And maybe he's more mesmerizing
[01:07:15] That's the whole concept
[01:07:17] Alright well
[01:07:19] This was a full list segment
[01:07:21] I gotta say
[01:07:23] You know what I'm missing right now
[01:07:25] I don't
[01:07:27] I'm missing some sin in my life
[01:07:29] I see what you did
[01:07:31] Last time on
[01:07:39] Rage or dare
[01:07:41] Our BBB boy Bryce
[01:07:43] Avoided confession as he pulled
[01:07:45] Cosmic Sin
[01:07:47] The 2021 Bruce Willis
[01:07:49] Masterpiece
[01:07:51] Is that actually a thing
[01:07:53] Anyway this week it's Jim's turn
[01:07:55] To rage or dare
[01:07:57] Oh no wait
[01:07:59] Bryce the slack jawed Yoko
[01:08:01] Failed to refill his horrible bag of romcoms
[01:08:03] And musicals so I guess it's only
[01:08:05] Dare or Casey for our little
[01:08:07] Jimmy Kins
[01:08:09] Now let's check in with Bryce and see if this
[01:08:11] Sinful Bruce Willis film demands
[01:08:13] 20 Hail Marys worth of rage
[01:08:15] Or 20 Full Latin
[01:08:17] Ceremonies worth of rage
[01:08:19] Doesn't really matter
[01:08:21] A sin's a sin am I right folks
[01:08:23] I'm just praying this does its job
[01:08:25] On our pagan breakfast
[01:08:27] Come on Bryce
[01:08:29] Mmm
[01:08:31] Yeah so I don't know like what was it
[01:08:33] Like 6-8 weeks ago that I was
[01:08:35] Dare to watch this
[01:08:37] So I watched it like the next
[01:08:39] That night
[01:08:41] And I didn't take any notes
[01:08:43] So I don't really remember
[01:08:45] I remember it took place like
[01:08:47] 500 years in the future
[01:08:49] I remember they were like colonizing other
[01:08:51] Planets cause like earth is like
[01:08:53] Unlivable or something like that
[01:08:55] I remember that
[01:08:57] I felt bad for Bruce
[01:08:59] Willis as I watched it
[01:09:01] I remember
[01:09:03] Frank Grillo was in it but I don't
[01:09:05] Really remember him making an impression
[01:09:07] On me
[01:09:09] I remember
[01:09:11] I was bad
[01:09:13] I mean you're asking me to recall
[01:09:15] It had to be 5-6 weeks ago
[01:09:17] So I don't understand
[01:09:19] Why did we have a 5-6 week gap
[01:09:21] Before we did this
[01:09:23] Cause we had so much other movies
[01:09:25] We were talking about
[01:09:27] And you knew ahead of time
[01:09:29] We were gonna do it when we got back
[01:09:31] And had time to catch up
[01:09:33] So that's your own fault
[01:09:35] Anyways I sort of remember the movie
[01:09:37] Barely but it was
[01:09:39] I remember that
[01:09:41] I remember there scenes in it where I was like
[01:09:43] What?
[01:09:45] But it's
[01:09:47] I wish I could be more specific but I can't
[01:09:49] Cause it's like gone
[01:09:51] The funniest thing about this is
[01:09:53] I also have seen this movie
[01:09:55] And do you remember anything about it?
[01:09:57] No I just remember it was so awesome
[01:09:59] I remember it was bad
[01:10:01] I'm giving it a rage even though
[01:10:03] Usually a rage makes like an impression
[01:10:05] And I can like pick some stuff out
[01:10:07] And I was like and that's why this was awful
[01:10:09] This was awful because
[01:10:11] It was so
[01:10:13] Like nothing
[01:10:15] And I remember the special effects were laughable
[01:10:17] Yes
[01:10:19] And as I say I just
[01:10:21] What it comes down to is it just made me feel bad
[01:10:23] Cause I'm watching
[01:10:25] I mean I'm not the biggest Bruce Willis fan in the world
[01:10:27] But watching him do stuff like this
[01:10:29] It makes me feel bad
[01:10:31] Cause
[01:10:33] As much as I'm not a fan of his
[01:10:35] It's better than this
[01:10:37] And let's leave it at that
[01:10:39] But the movie was a rage
[01:10:41] There's a thing
[01:10:43] That sometimes actors just don't age gracefully
[01:10:45] And I don't mean like
[01:10:47] Age gracefully as in
[01:10:49] They just start making
[01:10:51] It's like they're desperate to still work
[01:10:53] So they pick stuff that isn't great
[01:10:55] To me it's a lot like Michael J. Fox
[01:10:57] He knew he had Parkinson's
[01:10:59] So he signed a contract to make a bunch of bad movies
[01:11:01] To bring home money to his family
[01:11:03] Knowing he only had so many years
[01:11:05] I wonder when Bruce Willis found out
[01:11:07] That he had Alzheimer's and was going to be
[01:11:09] Losing his mind
[01:11:11] And signed on for a bunch of crappy films
[01:11:13] Which is exactly why he did it
[01:11:15] And if that's how he did it
[01:11:17] That's cool with me
[01:11:19] But it doesn't take away from the fact
[01:11:21] That it's still sad to watch
[01:11:23] It's hard to give something to rage when you're sad
[01:11:25] Exactly, that's the whole thing
[01:11:27] It just made me sad
[01:11:29] It's a sad rage
[01:11:31] You know what, I gotta pick some shit
[01:11:33] Cause guess what
[01:11:35] I'm gonna refill my bag like real soon
[01:11:37] You know what, I've heard that room so many times
[01:11:39] You realize mine is full too right?
[01:11:41] Yeah, I know
[01:11:43] But yours and Casey's
[01:11:45] Where's the dare bag
[01:11:47] I feel like I'm not ready to go back into full rage mode
[01:11:49] Where the hell's the
[01:11:51] Oh this is the audience
[01:11:53] There we go, I'm gonna make an audience dare bag
[01:11:55] It's getting pretty light too
[01:11:57] So audience send me some movies
[01:11:59] I'm not ready to go back into full rage mode
[01:12:01] Wait did we review this already?
[01:12:03] Epic movie
[01:12:05] I'm pretty sure I had it
[01:12:07] Yeah, no I think I already watched it
[01:12:09] Alrighty
[01:12:11] It was a superhero parody
[01:12:13] Yes, it is terrible
[01:12:15] The director of that is also
[01:12:17] On our doubted list
[01:12:19] Next
[01:12:21] Next is
[01:12:23] The Pink Panther 2
[01:12:25] Did we watch that one?
[01:12:27] The Pink Panther 2
[01:12:29] Yes, you get to watch the sequel
[01:12:31] Of the thing that was horrible
[01:12:33] Having said that
[01:12:35] That whole him pronouncing hamburger
[01:12:37] Still makes me giggle
[01:12:39] Yes
[01:12:41] Emburghite
[01:12:43] Emburghite
[01:12:45] I am not looking forward to this
[01:12:47] It's just total nonsense one
[01:12:49] Rest in peace Peter Sellers
[01:12:51] Yes, I freaking love
[01:12:53] Peter Sellers
[01:12:55] The Pink Panther movies
[01:12:57] No, it's Steve Martin
[01:12:59] I need to watch the party again
[01:13:01] Also a great film
[01:13:03] Anyways
