Episode 239 - PG Horror Sucks.... Hard!

Welcome back ragers to the best movie review podcast on the planet. The rage rolls on from the Film Rage Studio.

This week the Film Rage Crew saw two films in cinema. One was another PG Horror Film from Blumhouse which offered very little imagination despite the movies title. Then they review a three hour plus film from Turkey that had Jim and Bryce in complete agreement. Finally Bryce had pulled the Marky Mark/Tim Burton Planet of the Apes remake from Casey's stank bag of awfulness. See if Bryce hated it as much as he remembers hating it when he saw it over twenty years ago.

[00:00:00] It's time to feel the rage! Welcome to Filmrage, where we talk movies,

[00:00:10] in theaters streaming and call classic films as well. Directors and actors beware as you cannot

[00:00:16] hide from the rage. My name is Bryson, I'm part of the filmrage trou, which also includes

[00:00:21] the filmrage.

[00:00:22] Jim, hey Jim.

[00:00:23] Hey, hey, brus!

[00:00:27] And the merman who apparently lost his phone and that's all he's been talking about.

[00:00:31] Blah blah blah, phone phone phone.

[00:00:33] Who cares? Nobody needs a phone.

[00:00:35] Ain't no warts, blah blah blah. Some of us do, some of us don't have a landline

[00:00:40] that you know, you have a paddy machine that doesn't even work.

[00:00:44] I don't know why. I didn't know that. The machine works just fine.

[00:00:51] I just don't ever answer it.

[00:00:52] He's never answered, which is the reason you need a phone.

[00:00:54] And the batteries are dead, that phone is like almost as old.

[00:00:57] Exactly.

[00:00:59] As I don't know.

[00:01:00] Some of us do need phones, especially some of us who have to use it for work.

[00:01:04] Just saying.

[00:01:05] Yeah.

[00:01:06] You need a phone for tomorrow because you need to be tomorrow.

[00:01:08] Yeah, exactly.

[00:01:09] Saying.

[00:01:10] Okay, go.

[00:01:12] Don't get going.

[00:01:13] Well you weren't finished.

[00:01:15] Yeah, you're gonna say, you got a directives here.

[00:01:18] Oh, yeah. With the introductions all the way, let's rage on.

[00:01:21] Oh, wow. That was stellar.

[00:01:23] Around two.

[00:01:25] All right. That's true.

[00:01:26] That's true.

[00:01:27] All right. This is better.

[00:01:30] Thanks for open supporting us.

[00:01:45] You can still buy us a movie rental and there is to watch a terrible movie.

[00:01:49] I'ma watch it if you played anywhere in a cinema.

[00:01:51] We're all about the cinema.

[00:01:53] And it's not a children's movie.

[00:01:56] We'll watch it.

[00:01:57] Correct.

[00:01:58] Now, let's get to raging.

[00:02:00] I'm excited about what's coming next.

[00:02:02] Yeah, I know you are.

[00:02:04] Especially because Murray made changes predictions.

[00:02:07] I would never do that.

[00:02:09] What?

[00:02:11] What the mayors and mom predict?

[00:02:15] What the mayors and mom predict?

[00:02:17] Will he predict the rage or will he predict the mono?

[00:02:21] Will they tell you all what Jim and Bryce thought of movies this week that they saw at the cinema's?

[00:02:28] Yes, he will.

[00:02:31] Here he comes swimming to you.

[00:02:36] Yeah, I'm being eaten by a small animal right now.

[00:02:39] That sounds pretty sexual.

[00:02:41] No, it really isn't.

[00:02:43] It really isn't.

[00:02:45] Yeah.

[00:02:47] So because I lost my phone...

[00:02:50] That's right.

[00:02:51] I didn't have a chance to watch the trailer for that about dry grass' thing.

[00:02:55] So I'm going to guess at that one.

[00:02:57] Yeah, but was the other movie imaginary?

[00:02:59] I did go to actually with you guys.

[00:03:01] Yes, you did.

[00:03:02] And I'm sure you guys loved it as much as I did.

[00:03:04] What are you talking about?

[00:03:06] No, I really don't know what you did.

[00:03:08] Bryce, I'm pretty sure we'd give it a rage.

[00:03:12] Well, make sure you think that.

[00:03:14] Like what was just based on the fact that he has any like crappy horror movies.

[00:03:19] What are you talking about?

[00:03:21] He seems like the type of movie I'm talking about.

[00:03:24] It might be a Mundo.

[00:03:26] Who knows?

[00:03:27] Well, you know what?

[00:03:28] It sounds like an entire leprechaun series because he likes all of those.

[00:03:32] He also likes, but...

[00:03:33] Oh, I know.

[00:03:34] He likes Final Destination.

[00:03:37] All of them!

[00:03:38] There's a new one coming out.

[00:03:39] Yeah, I know.

[00:03:40] He's excited about that, Marie.

[00:03:41] That's all right.

[00:03:42] When you say he doesn't like terrible horror movies, the answer to that is absolutely incorrect.

[00:03:47] There's so much bad horror movies that Bryce likes.

[00:03:50] No.

[00:03:51] That are awful.

[00:03:52] I'm taking a shot saying he's going to rage on that.

[00:03:54] Alright.

[00:03:55] You with your love of horror movies, you might have given it maybe a low man.

[00:03:59] Oh, okay.

[00:04:00] I do love good horror movies.

[00:04:03] You do.

[00:04:04] And that trailer looked pretty good.

[00:04:06] Hmm.

[00:04:07] About dry grasses, I have no freaking clue on the fact that it's three and a half hours long

[00:04:13] and it's got subtitles and there's lots of talking and lots of walking.

[00:04:18] Yeah.

[00:04:19] Yeah, you guys probably love to crap out of that so you probably Mundoed it.

[00:04:22] There was only three hours and...

[00:04:24] What is it?

[00:04:25] 17 minutes?

[00:04:26] Three hours and 17 minutes, I believe, Jim.

[00:04:27] Yeah.

[00:04:28] You know what?

[00:04:29] It's about...

[00:04:30] What is that?

[00:04:31] 13 seconds or 13 minutes less than three and a half.

[00:04:35] So, yeah.

[00:04:36] I mean, you might have got this anyway.

[00:04:38] Maybe if it was three and a half hours, we would have Mundoed it.

[00:04:41] Oh, it wasn't long enough to be a Mundo.

[00:04:43] It wasn't long enough to be a Mundo.

[00:04:44] We needed that 13 more minutes.

[00:04:46] We wanted that 13 minute walk in a way scene that Bryce looks into.

[00:04:50] I will try.

[00:04:51] I will shot at the end.

[00:04:53] I will tell you the first scene is awesome because you just get to see a walk in a snow storm.

[00:04:58] For 10 minutes.

[00:04:59] Yeah, that sounds like your game.

[00:05:00] It's not for 10 minutes.

[00:05:01] It wasn't for long enough.

[00:05:03] I would have been asleep by that scene.

[00:05:05] It's awesome.

[00:05:06] Nice.

[00:05:07] Not seeing the rest of the movie.

[00:05:09] What would I be saying that for?

[00:05:10] But you'll hear what I have to say.

[00:05:12] Yeah, so, imaginary.

[00:05:15] Bloom House.

[00:05:16] Movie theater.

[00:05:17] What about it?

[00:05:19] Oh, I'm up.

[00:05:22] You're no good.

[00:05:24] Imaginary, the latest offering from Bloom House.

[00:05:27] And as the case with Bloom House, they are to quote Forrest Gump like a box of chocolates.

[00:05:32] You never know what you'll get.

[00:05:33] They make some very effective horror on occasion.

[00:05:36] Although it seemed like earlier they kind of did that.

[00:05:38] It seems they're on a bit of a crap fest.

[00:05:40] Uh, like yes.

[00:05:42] And other times they make films like this.

[00:05:44] Let's see.

[00:05:45] Might be part of that crap fest.

[00:05:47] Guess we'll find out.

[00:05:48] The concept of an imaginary friend that gains a chance.

[00:05:50] An imaginary friend that gains a child's trust.

[00:05:52] And then starts to get said,

[00:05:54] child, to do nastier, nastier things is kind of a great concept.

[00:05:57] And I think that was the initial thought with this film.

[00:06:01] But then that concept loses its focus.

[00:06:03] And we are in other dimensions and a crazy next door neighbor gets involved.

[00:06:08] And then all of a sudden, that great concept gets transformed into a mess of science fiction

[00:06:13] with a doorway to an underworld where people are mimicked from your world.

[00:06:19] But when they get mad, their eyes get all big,

[00:06:22] baldness and black.

[00:06:24] And I had no idea what the hell was going on.

[00:06:27] What happened to the direction this film was heading?

[00:06:30] And once we get multiple false endings, I was done.

[00:06:35] This film got messier and messier as it arrived at its ill-conceived ending.

[00:06:40] Oh, and one more thing.

[00:06:42] Stop making PG-13 horror this film lack of scares and gore

[00:06:48] make for a bland experience that is a complete waste of time.

[00:06:52] It is not hard to imagine based on what I have told you that imaginary is a rage.

[00:06:59] Bing, Bing, Bing.

[00:07:01] Definitely not helping your imagination for sure.

[00:07:05] Well, let me tell you what I thought it is.

[00:07:07] So look, the stepmom trying to bond with Stepkid's horror subgenre

[00:07:14] is already a bloated genre.

[00:07:16] But later on top of that, a million characters that have no value whatsoever

[00:07:21] they just keep throwing out their character in it that means nothing to the story at all.

[00:07:26] It's just here.

[00:07:28] You know what?

[00:07:29] We're missing a neighbor who's talking gibberish and some boyfriend thing that's like made no sense whatsoever.

[00:07:37] Oh, but on top of that we have terrible acting, convenient storylines and an ending that never ends.

[00:07:43] But what?

[00:07:45] We had Chonsea the Bear.

[00:07:47] Chonsea the Bear can suck my life.

[00:07:49] I like Chonsea the Bear.

[00:07:50] That's the only thing I liked about this.

[00:07:52] You know what?

[00:07:53] Yeah, he was good.

[00:07:54] He could have been way creepier.

[00:07:56] Like whatever.

[00:07:57] He was creepy because he wasn't creepy.

[00:08:00] No, he could have been way creepier.

[00:08:01] He was a bear.

[00:08:04] You have your fascination with stuffed animals.

[00:08:06] You have no yoga.

[00:08:07] He's actually creepy.

[00:08:08] Speaking of creepy, it's you and your fascination with stuffed animals.

[00:08:13] What are you talking about?

[00:08:15] Oh Charlie horse doesn't count.

[00:08:17] Yeah, well he's creepy too.

[00:08:19] He's also creepy.

[00:08:20] Yeah, and cover years Charlie horse.

[00:08:23] Yeah, so where was I?

[00:08:25] Oh yeah, convenient storylines and an ending that never ends yet we get another bloom house rated G.

[00:08:32] Gateway jump scare movie for toddlers trying to prepare them for real horror movies for the future I guess.

[00:08:42] And I'm not even sure we even get many real horror movies anymore at all.

[00:08:46] Like what was the last one that we've actually seen that wasn't a film festival film that just came to cinemas and was a horror movie that we all thought was great.

[00:08:57] I don't know.

[00:08:58] There was none.

[00:08:59] There hasn't been one.

[00:09:00] I'm seeing a good horror movie here.

[00:09:01] We haven't but we do get them when we go to film festivals.

[00:09:04] So we got last year, we got the elderly, we got when evil lurks, we got was that other one the evil?

[00:09:10] There was another one that had evil in the title was also really good.

[00:09:13] I don't know.

[00:09:14] Yeah, I don't remember.

[00:09:15] Anyway, every horror movie we saw at Calgary Underground Film Fest and yeah,

[00:09:22] and safe Calgary International Film Fest were both fantastic for their land there except for one movie which you won't mention.

[00:09:28] Yeah, well they never come to cinemas.

[00:09:31] That's the problem is that we get these mass produced pieces of garbage made for toddlers and then on to

[00:09:37] And then we don't get the really good horror that like has you know elderly people that are fucking creepy as fuck and they're murdering people there or they get

[00:09:46] Or we get you know a mom that's eating her kids brains like this is the stuff we need to get in cinemas that people can see.

[00:09:53] Yeah, the best scene in any movie ever created and we don't get that so you got to see it on shutter when it gets released.

[00:10:00] You hear what I did there and you did nothing about it.

[00:10:02] Oh, I said shutter.

[00:10:03] Boom boom.

[00:10:04] Thank you.

[00:10:05] Murray, you're on my team tonight.

[00:10:06] By the way, by the way, Charlie's unimpressed with your comments and stuff right now.

[00:10:11] Yeah, well, backster isn't either because he's more interested in going on my leg right now.

[00:10:15] Yeah.

[00:10:16] Backster bear.

[00:10:17] Now where was I again?

[00:10:18] Oh, right.

[00:10:19] This is one step away from a goosebumps episode 3D ride at a Disney theme park, goosebumps theme park out by

[00:10:27] Bloomhouse slash Disney slash goosebumps slash what did you what's that Nickelodeon?

[00:10:33] Nickelodeon.

[00:10:34] This movie was by far the most annoying and terrible thing I've ever seen by Bloomhouse and I have seen a lot and just so you know.

[00:10:42] Yeah, Chauncey like I said he can suck a bag of digs.

[00:10:46] The CLF and this was not CLF enough and I'm very confused about pretty much everything in this film because there was so much disjointed

[00:10:55] everything that all this convenience was just crazy but we can talk more about that once we hear with the murder has to say.

[00:11:01] Yeah, this was a terrible rage and I do have a couple of things I want to mention about Bloomhouse but go ahead.

[00:11:08] Well, trying to get past the fact that I had to pay six extra dollars to see this piece of crap in a VIP experience.

[00:11:18] You got to be an experience but I didn't use it basically spent all my money on the ticket couldn't even afford to buy a drink.

[00:11:23] Jim had to buy me a drink because it was too expensive.

[00:11:26] I went and paid six dollars to see this piece of crap and he didn't even get handsy with me.

[00:11:29] That's right.

[00:11:30] Well, I wasn't sitting with you.

[00:11:31] You should have sat with me.

[00:11:32] Yeah.

[00:11:33] Then you would have maybe got something.

[00:11:35] Yeah, so I'm not a big fan of the VIP experience.

[00:11:38] Yeah, I don't stay in fancy hotels.

[00:11:40] I don't need five star restaurants.

[00:11:42] I don't write write-al-limos.

[00:11:43] Nope.

[00:11:44] I'm a regular guy.

[00:11:45] That's right.

[00:11:46] I just need a regular theater.

[00:11:47] He's got an VIP.

[00:11:48] She's got an eight cylinder gas gussler.

[00:11:50] That's a gas gussler.

[00:11:51] He listens to 80s rock on my tape deck.

[00:11:54] That's right.

[00:11:55] I like the crazy old lady although I saw where that was coming in a mile away but she was interesting.

[00:12:03] She made no sense.

[00:12:04] You know, baby, but she was right.

[00:12:06] Wasn't she?

[00:12:07] She explained everything.

[00:12:08] Did she?

[00:12:09] Wait, you know what?

[00:12:10] I don't care.

[00:12:11] We're giving spoilers to her.

[00:12:12] Just saying.

[00:12:13] She explained everything that was going on because she had been tracking it.

[00:12:15] Yeah.

[00:12:16] And she had her two.

[00:12:17] It was going on.

[00:12:18] No, she was tracking it all because she was trying to trap them in the red door alert.

[00:12:22] Well, there you go.

[00:12:23] In the red door alert.

[00:12:24] Yeah, I don't care.

[00:12:25] But anyway, so yeah.

[00:12:26] That's the most terrible thing.

[00:12:27] I don't know what I'm gonna say.

[00:12:28] I like her.

[00:12:29] And yeah, the CLF, it was just creepy.

[00:12:31] But everybody else, yeah.

[00:12:33] I mean, the next door neighbor kid who is like trying to give the girl drugs but it wasn't

[00:12:38] drugs.

[00:12:39] I don't know.

[00:12:40] It was a stupid storyline but I forgot about that.

[00:12:43] Yeah.

[00:12:44] So, yeah, that's what I mean.

[00:12:45] Like there's just so much in this that makes no sense to the movie and maybe to Bryce's

[00:12:51] point, maybe the story idea of a creepy imaginary bear that wants you to do stuff would be cool

[00:12:59] but it was that's been a little bit more than that.

[00:13:02] It was like chopping off a finger.

[00:13:04] That's the worst thing that happened to anybody.

[00:13:06] Well, that's pretty bad if it didn't do it.

[00:13:07] Because yeah, this is PG horror.

[00:13:09] Like you said, Nickelodeon Disney crap.

[00:13:12] I'm still saying, I'm still hanging on this is G horror.

[00:13:15] And it was Goosebumps.

[00:13:16] It was an episode of Goosebumps.

[00:13:17] Yeah, this was for kids.

[00:13:18] This was probably actually less scary than a Goosebumps episode.

[00:13:21] Nobody died.

[00:13:22] Yeah.

[00:13:23] Well, maybe.

[00:13:24] Yeah.

[00:13:25] There was no blood.

[00:13:26] No blood.

[00:13:27] No blood.

[00:13:28] No.

[00:13:29] And there was like this couple of jumps in Wonderland ending where they jumped down a rabbit

[00:13:33] hole, like whatever.

[00:13:34] Well, wait, there was like 17 endings.

[00:13:36] Well, there's 17 endings and there was there wasn't an original idea in the whole thing.

[00:13:41] Yeah, yeah.

[00:13:42] But I liked Johnson.

[00:13:43] Of course it was a rage.

[00:13:44] You know what that means.

[00:13:45] I had the crazy old lady.

[00:13:46] Yeah.

[00:13:47] Rage.

[00:13:48] Rage.

[00:13:49] Rage.

[00:13:50] Rage.

[00:13:51] Okay, just so everybody knows.

[00:13:58] These are the last five bloom house movies that came to cinema.

[00:14:03] Okay, let's go.

[00:14:05] Imaginary.

[00:14:06] Rage.

[00:14:07] Night swim.

[00:14:08] Oh God, rage.

[00:14:09] Five nights at Freddy's.

[00:14:11] Rage.

[00:14:12] The exorcist believer.

[00:14:14] Rage.

[00:14:15] Was it a rage?

[00:14:16] Yes, it was a rage by all of us.

[00:14:17] That's one, two, three, four.

[00:14:18] Yeah.

[00:14:19] And before that, totally killer.

[00:14:21] Totally killer.

[00:14:23] Totally killer.

[00:14:24] Totally killer.

[00:14:25] I don't even remember it.

[00:14:26] It was also a rage.

[00:14:27] Let's fit.

[00:14:28] And then you can just keep going, actually, I think you gave in Sidious the Red Door a man.

[00:14:32] I did.

[00:14:33] There you go.

[00:14:34] Because you like these.

[00:14:35] Which was the worst.

[00:14:36] No, I don't.

[00:14:37] No, I thought this was the best one.

[00:14:39] Apparently not according to everybody else on the universe that it was one of the worst movies

[00:14:43] of the year.

[00:14:44] Yeah.

[00:14:45] It was okay.

[00:14:46] I watched it.

[00:14:47] It was a rage.

[00:14:48] I finally got to see it.

[00:14:49] But you got to see it in the cinema.

[00:14:50] So lucky you.

[00:14:51] Awesome.

[00:14:52] Yeah.

[00:14:53] So bloom house, go fuck yourself.

[00:14:54] Yeah.

[00:14:55] I'll see you later.

[00:14:56] That's all I'm going to say.

[00:14:57] Okay, then.

[00:14:58] Right.

[00:14:59] So what else did we see?

[00:15:00] We saw about dry grasses which was playing in an art house cinema that Bryson and I were

[00:15:07] lucky enough to see three hours and 17 minutes of beautiful scenery, snow scenes with amazing

[00:15:17] cinematography and a bunch of dialogue that has dialogue rich characters and perhaps

[00:15:26] a study of what may be thought of as a love rectangle.

[00:15:31] You say, what?

[00:15:32] A love rectangle where you have two persons who are roommates, one who's a lady with

[00:15:40] a prosthetic leg and one who's a 13 year old girl or perhaps a 12 year old girl or perhaps

[00:15:46] an 11 year old girl or perhaps a 14 year old girl.

[00:15:50] She's an 11 year old girl.

[00:15:51] She's a great, she's a great five.

[00:15:53] All right, there you go.

[00:15:55] This film takes its time slowly, very, very, very, very, very, very, very slowly to develop

[00:16:02] all four of these characters in a story that has nothing really resolved except our lead

[00:16:08] played by Denny's Kelly, glue I can't pronounce this.

[00:16:13] I.e. L. I.L. O. G. L. U., who plays Samette or Samette, who may or may not be a pedophile

[00:16:23] and he's not.

[00:16:24] He's not.

[00:16:25] I'm not convinced after seeing it.

[00:16:27] There was there was 17 minutes, there was 17 minutes that you slept through that possibly

[00:16:34] could have been.

[00:16:35] I did not see through any of this one so stop it with your sleep and stuff.

[00:16:39] I believe it.

[00:16:40] I did not see it.

[00:16:42] What a monster.

[00:16:43] What a monster.

[00:16:44] It was the second movie of the night and it was after the piece of crap that he did not

[00:16:47] sleep through this one.

[00:16:50] He finally gets to leave this small town after four years stint in a very remote village

[00:16:57] somewhere in Turkey where there are only two seasons winter and summer with sounds

[00:17:02] of Istanbul sounds like Calgary.

[00:17:06] With us we get two seasons summer and winter.

[00:17:10] Hmm, might have to put Turkey on my bucket list again.

[00:17:13] Bryce, how do you feel about Turkey?

[00:17:17] I think turkeys are great and we shouldn't eat them.

[00:17:20] I love turkey sandwiches.

[00:17:24] I was thinking that's exactly what you two would say.

[00:17:27] This film is hard to fully explain.

[00:17:31] You just have to experience it.

[00:17:33] I can tell you a few things though.

[00:17:35] This is a movie that would have been absolute torture for Murray to watch.

[00:17:40] It was fantastical acting by everyone in it.

[00:17:44] The scenery is breathtaking.

[00:17:46] There is a feeling of discomfort with how Sam, Samet interacts with one particular student

[00:17:52] and you are left wondering about this relationship or at least his thoughts and feelings about

[00:17:58] them throughout the film.

[00:18:00] So that there is a lot of loneliness, small remote towns can evoke.

[00:18:08] And also that I loved every single hour of this film and that it was an absolute fantastic

[00:18:15] film.

[00:18:33] There was so much going on in this, we could talk about this movie for like seven days.

[00:18:39] At least three hours and 17 minutes.

[00:18:41] We could talk about it a lot longer than that because this was such a cool character

[00:18:47] study.

[00:18:49] This guy, you hated him right off the bat.

[00:18:51] I didn't know what you were getting creeped out right off the bat.

[00:18:54] He was creeping me out right away.

[00:18:56] But this was like a weird kind of study of people that tell little tiny lies and because

[00:19:05] there's such small lies so they kind of believe their lives.

[00:19:11] Like when they're talking later, they're talking like well the what I said that lie I told

[00:19:17] is actually true when it's not really true.

[00:19:21] It's their version of the truth and it all snowballs and it's crazy.

[00:19:27] But it's not like so in contrast to this because I think we also saw the teachers lounge

[00:19:32] last year which has a very similar, similar idea to it.

[00:19:38] But it's yes, it was but this one is so much more subversive than that.

[00:19:45] The teacher's lounge is very in your face because things actions happen once certain things

[00:19:52] happen.

[00:19:53] But in this there's no real action that actually happens.

[00:19:56] It's like they talk about things but nothing actually ever happens throughout that whole

[00:20:01] period.

[00:20:02] Focus is on this Samut guy and he is not a terrible person but he's a terrible person.

[00:20:11] Yeah, it's like but he's not like that she's hit like he literally has no interest in

[00:20:16] what's her head.

[00:20:17] Yeah, who by the way, she was amazing.

[00:20:19] What I'm sorry.

[00:20:20] I should be I should be more prepared for this.

[00:20:24] But she was amazing but he is no interest in her until his buddy has like big time interest

[00:20:30] in her and then all of a sudden that's all he wants because because he's just a horrible

[00:20:36] person.

[00:20:37] Yeah, so the actors care about her.

[00:20:39] No, he doesn't.

[00:20:40] That's just it but it's not in your face like when you watch this you could watch this

[00:20:45] through a bunch of different lenses because maybe because yeah I agree with you.

[00:20:51] He did not he just fucked up because he knew the other guy liked me.

[00:20:54] He was just trying to sabotage it.

[00:20:56] It's a portrait of just as I say one particular awful person but nobody was above it like

[00:21:04] the girl she was lying when she went to you know report him.

[00:21:10] That wasn't the truth.

[00:21:12] She was telling like a version of it and I think it's just like everything in this movie

[00:21:18] was based on a little lie.

[00:21:20] Yeah, Sam even then I would I'm not going to disagree with you.

[00:21:24] But what I thought about it was that you're really observing how these characters interact

[00:21:31] in this sort of setting that has unfolded that really doesn't percolate to a mask.

[00:21:38] Like it's like watching a pot that never really boils.

[00:21:42] It never boils over Murray.

[00:21:44] It's like you're we keep going one is something hugely going to.

[00:21:49] This sounds painful.

[00:21:51] Oh no the characters were so great.

[00:21:53] I never would have made it.

[00:21:54] And the actress who plays the lady in her name is Merv Dizdar and she's actually like

[00:22:01] she was getting tons of accolades for her portrait in this.

[00:22:05] She's the one that has the prosthetic leg.

[00:22:07] She's brilliant in this but all the characters in this were brilliant.

[00:22:11] Yeah, Merv Dizdar was awesome but the and I tell you the guy that played Sam at Denny's

[00:22:19] whatever his name is.

[00:22:22] He was amazing and the scene where where Nure and Karen, Kernen sorry.

[00:22:32] Kernen.

[00:22:33] Is it?

[00:22:34] Yeah.

[00:22:35] K-E-N-A-N.

[00:22:36] Okay yeah.

[00:22:37] The scene where they're sitting and they kind of have that first interaction where they're

[00:22:41] really connecting.

[00:22:44] And the camera pulls back and shows a whole table and you see they're looking at each other

[00:22:49] and they're really connecting.

[00:22:52] And Sam is sitting there with just the most pissed off look on his face that you've ever

[00:22:58] seen and it was just it was so brilliant and they just they sat on that camera angle for

[00:23:05] a while and you just see this, this ceiling that just under the you know underneath with

[00:23:11] him and that little moment there I was like this is just brilliant film making.

[00:23:15] Yeah the who sorry the director is Nuri Billed Seilan.

[00:23:24] Seilan?

[00:23:25] Yeah.

[00:23:26] Yeah, I definitely want to see more from them like apparently he's made a bunch of films

[00:23:30] in these piece a pretty pretty prolific.

[00:23:33] Prolific dude.

[00:23:34] Well, he's made apparently they're all pretty good.

[00:23:37] I'm sure we've seen a few of them because we do get yeah we probably do get to see enough

[00:23:41] Turkish films which is good but this is one of those films like

[00:23:46] if you don't go I'm thinking to this with the right mindset this could feel like a slog

[00:23:50] for some people because it is you got to just you gotta sit there give it a chance and

[00:23:54] you will be absolutely absorbed with the characters and the girl the young girl who plays the

[00:24:00] what do you say 11?

[00:24:01] Yeah, she's she'd be 11.

[00:24:03] She's great five.

[00:24:04] She's brilliant.

[00:24:05] I assume it's the same in Turkey.

[00:24:06] Yeah, she's brilliant in this.

[00:24:08] The whole cast is brilliant.

[00:24:10] So yeah, Murray were right.

[00:24:11] We both of us love this was among us.

[00:24:12] Of course he did.

[00:24:13] Yeah.

[00:24:14] I see a trailer for it and the cinematography is.

[00:24:17] Oh, the cinematography spectacular those stills that they show.

[00:24:21] Yeah, that's the other thing this guy that's a terrible person takes the most amazing photographs

[00:24:25] yeah because those were all he's the stuff that was taking photos of the fire pedophile

[00:24:30] and he's so in the middle with everything like he wants to be loved by both the soldiers

[00:24:35] and the work and man and he doesn't have an real opinion about anything because he just

[00:24:40] wants to be liked by everybody.

[00:24:43] But at the same time, he's got this smirkiness and this swarminess and this I'm kind of better

[00:24:49] than you attitude and you tell like where is it coming from and that's why you just hate

[00:24:54] this guy and we all know people like this too.

[00:24:58] So it's just so good.

[00:24:59] I've worked with people like this.

[00:25:01] So just such such an unbelievable character study great film.

[00:25:08] I can't like three hours and 17 minutes of just awe.

[00:25:11] Yeah, I kind of wish it was another hour but it was a perfect ending too.

[00:25:16] It was really a perfect.

[00:25:17] It was.

[00:25:18] Yeah.

[00:25:19] Start to finish.

[00:25:20] It was like it was like the most this is going to probably make my top 10 up here.

[00:25:24] And definitely right choice and not seeing it with you.

[00:25:27] You would have hated this.

[00:25:28] I would have been asleep in the first 10 minutes.

[00:25:30] Yeah, like Bryce was about he got two hours and that's all two hours and ten minutes.

[00:25:36] Up with your lies.

[00:25:38] The sweet guy.

[00:25:39] Nobody wants to hear your lies.

[00:25:41] The sweeter gate all over again.

[00:25:43] He's here lies.

[00:25:44] I just got to find out what the part was that he fell asleep so I can say yeah remember

[00:25:49] this is the movie.

[00:25:50] Remember the spaceship came down.

[00:25:52] Everybody Jim is lying.

[00:25:55] Remember the spaceship.

[00:25:56] No, I don't remember the spaceship because it didn't happen.

[00:25:59] You were asleep.

[00:26:00] I can't stop.

[00:26:07] How can you live with yourself Jim lying to the people?

[00:26:13] If you love your three and a half hour movies with lots of subtitles it looks three hours

[00:26:17] and seventeen minutes.

[00:26:18] And yeah, I guess this is the movie for you.

[00:26:20] For the rest of us.

[00:26:21] Not so much.

[00:26:22] I've never been more excited to hear him.

[00:26:29] I already talked about the VIP experience.

[00:26:34] I'm not going to admit.

[00:26:35] What?

[00:26:36] You didn't talk enough about it.

[00:26:37] I enjoyed it.

[00:26:38] I thought you think this is our third recording for the next one.

[00:26:42] That's what you made $10,000 a weekend in your horse racing.

[00:26:45] No, I made some of us don't have that kind of cat.

[00:26:47] Last weekend I only made $520.

[00:26:50] $10,000 I think?

[00:26:52] That's what I'm making a week just so you know.

[00:26:55] I thought it was stupid anyway.

[00:27:00] Okay, now is the time for my two friends to take a potty break, get a coffee, walk the dog

[00:27:08] or get a snack.

[00:27:09] Talking about the fucking osc.

[00:27:10] Because I'm going to talk about the osc.

[00:27:11] You knew it was coming, don't be surprised.

[00:27:14] Hey, I watched the osc.

[00:27:16] Well, I don't officially care about award shows.

[00:27:18] Sort of adjacently in a pool.

[00:27:19] I am still interested in them.

[00:27:21] After all, I do work in the film industry.

[00:27:24] At least I hope so again.

[00:27:26] So to win, we'd have a film.

[00:27:27] No, I work in the film industry.

[00:27:29] You guys review movies.

[00:27:30] Wait, right now you're not working in the film industry.

[00:27:32] Well, if you let me, if you shove it, let me talk.

[00:27:34] I'll get to it.

[00:27:35] You're just paying union dues.

[00:27:37] I work in the film industry.

[00:27:38] At least I hope to if there is another damn strike.

[00:27:41] All right.

[00:27:42] And I usually find somebody that I'm rooting for.

[00:27:45] All right.

[00:27:46] And in the past when I had other friends who actually cared about the osc.

[00:27:50] I care.

[00:27:51] I used to be in a pool.

[00:27:52] No, I don't.

[00:27:53] But I can't find a second person even being an osc.

[00:27:55] Pull with anymore.

[00:27:56] Well, he's in an osc.

[00:27:57] Yeah, well, I was in two sorts.

[00:27:59] How come I wasn't invited to say it?

[00:28:01] Well, I wasn't really an either of them.

[00:28:03] One of them was my girlfriends and one of them was with my co-workers

[00:28:06] where I just gave her my tics.

[00:28:07] There you go.

[00:28:08] See, I wasn't any of them.

[00:28:09] I just, I was in a pool against myself.

[00:28:11] And I lost.

[00:28:13] By the way, I nailed Best Short Director.

[00:28:16] I may, I may, I'm sorry, Best of not Short Director.

[00:28:20] Best Short Film.

[00:28:22] Is this not my minute?

[00:28:23] Documentary.

[00:28:24] I nailed Best Short Film.

[00:28:26] I nailed Best Short Film or Best Documentary.

[00:28:30] I nailed all the.

[00:28:31] That's because you actually saw all those.

[00:28:33] Nobody else did.

[00:28:34] Anyways.

[00:28:36] Anyways, who cares about the Oscars?

[00:28:38] The perfect days didn't win Best of International Feature.

[00:28:40] Yeah, wait, this is my several minutes.

[00:28:43] Yeah, go ahead, sorry.

[00:28:44] And Jim's having a snack so you just shut your pie hole.

[00:28:47] First off, what was the golden raspberries or the raspberries?

[00:28:52] Which was the day before.

[00:28:54] Okay.

[00:28:55] The big loser was Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey.

[00:28:58] Hey, we talked about that, it took five awards.

[00:29:01] Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Wor Screen Couple.

[00:29:07] And Worst Remake Slash, Rip Off Slash Sequel.

[00:29:11] Nice.

[00:29:12] I'm saying something.

[00:29:13] That's good.

[00:29:14] That's good publicity for them.

[00:29:15] Two of Jason Stacey's movies were nominated.

[00:29:17] Expendables 4 and Make 2.

[00:29:19] Oh well, they deserve it.

[00:29:21] Megan Foxx won two awards.

[00:29:23] Oh nice.

[00:29:24] We're not in that ever happened.

[00:29:25] Very nice.

[00:29:26] She was an Expendables 4 and Johnny Inclined.

[00:29:29] Whatever that was.

[00:29:30] I didn't see Johnny Inclined.

[00:29:31] Uh, John Boyd took home the worst actor for Mercy.

[00:29:35] Anybody cares?

[00:29:36] No surprise.

[00:29:37] Yeah.

[00:29:38] John Boyd, he's just a raspberry now.

[00:29:40] You're looking bad on the movie being terrible of John.

[00:29:43] Exactly.

[00:29:44] He just looks like a rapper.

[00:29:45] Okay, onto the big show.

[00:29:47] Oppenheimer, particularly one, pretty much everything.

[00:29:50] Seven Oscars, including Best Picture.

[00:29:52] Chris Renoland finally won Best Director after eight nominations.

[00:29:56] Yeah.

[00:29:57] Robert Downey Jr., aka I Am Iron Man, is now an Oscar winner.

[00:30:02] Yes.

[00:30:03] I know the dude from Weird Science.

[00:30:06] Yeah.

[00:30:07] And Killian Murphy was finally rewarded for being an every Nolan film

[00:30:11] with Best Actor.

[00:30:12] Yes.

[00:30:13] I think the biggest surprise was Emma Stone winning Best Actress.

[00:30:17] It was her second one.

[00:30:19] Yes.

[00:30:20] Pretty much everybody thought that Lily Glass Stone was going to get that.

[00:30:23] I thought so.

[00:30:24] I believe in her.

[00:30:25] I have no comment on it.

[00:30:26] Billy Eilish won her second Oscar for her Barbie song.

[00:30:29] Yeah.

[00:30:30] Which was the only award that movie won.

[00:30:33] Also a surprise was Godzilla minus one.

[00:30:35] Godzilla!

[00:30:36] Visual effects.

[00:30:38] Yes.

[00:30:39] All were mission impossible and Guardians Three and creator and Napoleon.

[00:30:42] I thought creator was going to win that, to be honest,

[00:30:45] because I thought all the other special effects were kind of neat.

[00:30:49] Documentary mission impossible.

[00:30:50] Documentary 20 days in Mary Yippee-Bull.

[00:30:53] Yes.

[00:30:54] On the first Oscar for the Ukraine.

[00:30:56] Yep.

[00:30:57] The West Henderson film.

[00:31:00] The wonderful story of Henry Sugar was up less live short.

[00:31:04] And he wasn't even there.

[00:31:05] Yeah, and it wasn't even the best short of that series.

[00:31:08] I don't know why that one.

[00:31:09] It wasn't even close.

[00:31:10] It wasn't even close.

[00:31:11] And boy in the hair and beat out the spider verse.

[00:31:15] Yeah, that was...

[00:31:16] I was glad to see it to be honest.

[00:31:18] I thought the spider verse was going to...

[00:31:20] There were a few epic fails.

[00:31:22] Spider verse was good though.

[00:31:23] They're both good.

[00:31:24] They're both Mondo.

[00:31:25] Wow.

[00:31:26] Except for Murray.

[00:31:28] I think I gave it pulling the hair in my mouth.

[00:31:31] You gave them both Mondos.

[00:31:32] This is one of my minute takes 20 minutes.

[00:31:34] I think you're wrong.

[00:31:35] I think you did give it a man.

[00:31:37] Did you see the blame the hair in my mouth?

[00:31:39] No.

[00:31:40] There were a few epic fails,

[00:31:42] at least of which was the lame duck host Jimmy Kimmel.

[00:31:45] The least funny guy on late night TV.

[00:31:48] But he is ABC slash Disney's bitch.

[00:31:52] Okay.

[00:31:53] Then there was the Inmemorian segment.

[00:31:56] As usual, it was nice.

[00:31:58] Book ended by Navalny at the beginning and Tina Turner at the end.

[00:32:02] I was also a lot.

[00:32:05] There were dancers, a symphony.

[00:32:07] Yeah.

[00:32:08] Multiple screens of various sizes.

[00:32:10] Andrea Bacheli and his son.

[00:32:12] There was a lot going on.

[00:32:14] How did the old focus away from the stars who died?

[00:32:17] It did.

[00:32:18] And how did Bert Young not end up in the mean part?

[00:32:21] I thought he would...

[00:32:22] He wasn't in there.

[00:32:23] You couldn't see it.

[00:32:24] But you got no, but you got all these names at the end with Bert Young.

[00:32:27] And I was like, how's Bert Young not above the boat 12 of these days?

[00:32:30] They didn't dissolve to the actual video.

[00:32:32] It's like you were in the audience trying to watch it from like the 20th row.

[00:32:36] So you couldn't see the names that were flying by.

[00:32:40] It was too much overproduction values.

[00:32:44] All right.

[00:32:45] On to the fun stuff.

[00:32:47] There's fun stuff.

[00:32:48] There's fun stuff.

[00:32:49] There's fun stuff.

[00:32:50] There's fun stuff.

[00:32:51] Messy's bow tie.

[00:32:53] Apparently the dog, the anatomy of a fall, walked the red carpet and was in the audience.

[00:32:59] The best dog in the year.

[00:33:01] The best actor of the entire...

[00:33:03] I must have misted.

[00:33:05] Probably won at Kimmel's segments.

[00:33:07] Supporting actresses, supporting other supporting actresses.

[00:33:11] There was one of the new things they tried.

[00:33:13] You like it?

[00:33:14] Former winners say nice things about the nominees.

[00:33:17] Most of it was pretty bad.

[00:33:19] Okay, thank you.

[00:33:20] But the supporting actress segment had a personal touch when former supporting actress winners,

[00:33:24] Mary Steenberg and Peter Newongo, Jamie Lee Curtis, Rita Marino and Regina Kane came out to pay tribute to this year's nominees.

[00:33:32] Who also happened to be their friends?

[00:33:36] The rest of it was just awkward.

[00:33:39] Yeah.

[00:33:40] Next up, teamsters get a standing ovation.

[00:33:44] Okay.

[00:33:45] Because I don't like Jimmy Kimmel, he actually did a solid.

[00:33:49] He brought all the members of the teamsters in the IACC who are currently negotiating with the new contract for Hollywood, hoping to avoid a strike.

[00:33:56] First off, my question about that though is, do you think it was his decision to take it?

[00:34:00] Oh, I'm sure it wasn't, but I'm just saying.

[00:34:02] He didn't talk about it.

[00:34:03] So, to thank him for standing with the other unions last year, basically why he didn't work all of 2023.

[00:34:09] It happens to be the union I'm in so I actually appreciated it.

[00:34:14] Next up, Stuntend at the Oscars.

[00:34:18] My first Ryan Gosling moment of the night.

[00:34:22] Gosling and Emily Blunt, who starred in the new Fall Guy movie, presented a clip of the famous most famous stunt work over the years.

[00:34:31] The highlight was Emily making fun of Ryan Gosling over the whole barbed-himer thing, saying it wasn't much of a competition after basically Oppenheimer would kick their ass at every other award show.

[00:34:44] It was really funny. Can't wait to see him together in the Fall Guy.

[00:34:49] The Fall Guy.

[00:34:50] Next up, John Cena naked.

[00:34:56] Yeah, he was.

[00:34:57] Just gonna leave that there for a minute.

[00:34:59] What?

[00:35:00] The Oste, do you miss?

[00:35:02] I mean, they're gay.

[00:35:03] In a genius move, the Oste is celebrated at the anniversary of the striker at the Oscars by having Cena nude on stage presenting the award for

[00:35:13] Best Costume.

[00:35:15] Of course, it's Disney.

[00:35:17] So nobody actually got to see John's peacemaker.

[00:35:21] Except maybe the audience.

[00:35:23] Still funny.

[00:35:24] So they had a prosthetic winner on it?

[00:35:26] No, it was a snooze.

[00:35:27] No, I was holding envelope in front of it.

[00:35:29] No, it was a bodysuit.

[00:35:30] They showed the behind the scenes.

[00:35:31] But he looked naked on the air.

[00:35:34] He was definitely naked from the waist up.

[00:35:36] That's for sure.

[00:35:37] Anyway, so something for the ladies.

[00:35:40] Next, I want to see them naked.

[00:35:42] Ladies, well, they are on Earth.

[00:35:44] Some gentlemen.

[00:35:45] Next up, I am Batman.

[00:35:51] One of my favorite moments, dang divido and Arnold Schwarzenegger appearing together at the present award.

[00:35:57] The real reason?

[00:35:58] They both tried to kill Batman.

[00:36:01] Arnold said he lost because Batman found his weakness.

[00:36:05] Love.

[00:36:07] The divido said Batman threw him on a window.

[00:36:09] What a jerk.

[00:36:11] Then they called out Michael Keaton, who was sitting in the audience.

[00:36:15] Evil stairs were exchanged.

[00:36:17] Threats were issued.

[00:36:19] Classic.

[00:36:20] Michael was Michael Keaton in the one with...

[00:36:23] It was the first one.

[00:36:24] Yeah, but it wasn't Schwarzenegger.

[00:36:28] Yeah, but it wasn't Schwarzenegger given the threats.

[00:36:30] It was the divido.

[00:36:31] This makes no sense.

[00:36:32] That's so, Mr. Batfleck.

[00:36:35] The only...

[00:36:36] The only one.

[00:36:37] And he don't push that button.

[00:36:38] Finally!

[00:36:39] Then Affleck.

[00:36:40] The only good Batman.

[00:36:42] Finally.

[00:36:43] Ryan Gosling's energy.

[00:36:47] A moment I was waiting for.

[00:36:50] Ryan Gosling's forms.

[00:36:53] I'm just Ken.

[00:36:54] He was never going to win the Oscar.

[00:36:57] But he won the Oscar.

[00:36:59] I actually predicted that it would win the Oscar.

[00:37:02] No, it didn't.

[00:37:03] So you know I was wrong but that's what I picked.

[00:37:05] From his casual plunging neckline on the red carpet to a salarious bit with Emily Blunt.

[00:37:11] It was epic performance of I'm just Ken in a sequent hot pink suit.

[00:37:16] He really likes Ryan.

[00:37:17] Gosling proved that energy is real.

[00:37:20] Oh, real?

[00:37:21] Even had the other Ken as backup dancers, including Seemoo View.

[00:37:27] And the actual composer of the song, Park Ronson.

[00:37:31] Top it off.

[00:37:32] He had Slash.

[00:37:34] He did.

[00:37:35] And Wolfgang von Halyln.

[00:37:37] Slaming it on the guitar at the end.

[00:37:39] Nice.

[00:37:40] Epic win for the Canadian superstar.

[00:37:42] I'm smiling just remembering it.

[00:37:44] That was fun.

[00:37:45] YouTube it.

[00:37:46] It's worth it.

[00:37:47] It was fun.

[00:37:48] Oh, stop it Jim.

[00:37:49] It was fun.

[00:37:50] Just admit it was fun.

[00:37:51] You saw it.

[00:37:52] You know you saw it.

[00:37:53] No, you watched it.

[00:37:54] It was cute.

[00:37:55] Okay.

[00:37:56] Okay, there you go.

[00:37:57] Thank you.

[00:37:58] But it's only because I am also a huge Ryan fan.

[00:38:01] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:38:02] Who can't be a fan of Ryan Gosling?

[00:38:04] He's right.

[00:38:05] What are you talking about?

[00:38:06] He's fine.

[00:38:07] You're fucking silly.

[00:38:08] I really like drive.

[00:38:09] Yeah, everything was really.

[00:38:10] He's every movie he's in.

[00:38:11] He's in.

[00:38:12] He's pretty.

[00:38:13] He's good.

[00:38:14] He's good.

[00:38:15] He's good.

[00:38:16] Drive.

[00:38:17] He's even good and break her high.

[00:38:18] Just saying.

[00:38:19] Yeah.

[00:38:20] Even break her high.

[00:38:21] I don't even know what that means.

[00:38:22] That's his.

[00:38:23] The wise.

[00:38:24] What is it?

[00:38:25] The wise guys when he did with Russ Russ?

[00:38:26] Yes.

[00:38:27] The wise guy.

[00:38:28] No, it was the.

[00:38:29] No, not the other guys.

[00:38:30] The nice guys.

[00:38:31] Nice guys.

[00:38:32] That was awesome.

[00:38:33] That was good.

[00:38:34] He's great and everything.

[00:38:35] He was in.

[00:38:36] Denny.

[00:38:37] Remember when Denny Villeneuve used to be.

[00:38:38] Yeah, we were in the middle of the blue.

[00:38:40] He was in the early end of the day.

[00:38:41] Yeah, we were in the early end of the blue.

[00:38:42] We were in the early end of the blue.

[00:38:43] Yeah.

[00:38:44] You keep forgetting.

[00:38:45] You like him a lot.

[00:38:46] Yeah.

[00:38:47] Just saying.

[00:38:48] Yeah, welcome.

[00:38:49] All the Ryan's from Canada are pretty cool.

[00:38:50] That's right.

[00:38:51] I don't know.

[00:38:52] All right, I'm done.

[00:38:53] Temperature rising.

[00:38:54] Vision.

[00:38:55] Luring.

[00:38:56] Rage.

[00:38:57] Taking it over.

[00:38:59] Luring.

[00:39:01] Rage.

[00:39:02] Taking it over.

[00:39:20] Oh, by sweet tree.

[00:39:22] Dumb of you.

[00:39:28] Oh, I got a double two for you today folks.

[00:39:34] Part one.

[00:39:35] Gonna steal a little bit of Merman's thunder.

[00:39:39] We did go to the VIP experience.

[00:39:45] University district.

[00:39:49] I don't know what these things are made for.

[00:39:52] I don't understand why they can't assume that other people want to actually go pick up

[00:39:59] their popcorn and walk it to their...

[00:40:01] You have no choice to do that.

[00:40:04] You have to get someone to deliver it to your seat.

[00:40:07] Well, and yeah, they have alcohol.

[00:40:09] That was the only difference.

[00:40:11] You can order alcohol.

[00:40:13] You can order alcohol in a lot of theaters now.

[00:40:18] Yeah, almost all of them.

[00:40:19] Every single one now.

[00:40:20] Get them at O'Clair.

[00:40:21] Every single one has an alcohol license now.

[00:40:24] But there's still now delivering it.

[00:40:27] That whole experience was annoying to me because I like to go in, just pick up my stuff.

[00:40:35] I don't want people...

[00:40:36] I like to go to the snack bar, pick up my own snacks and then go in and watch.

[00:40:39] Yeah, and I also don't like the fact that now they're trying to generate more revenue

[00:40:44] for, I don't know who, because we now have to tip them.

[00:40:48] I didn't know it was delivering us our popcorn when I just want to get my fucking popcorn.

[00:40:51] Did they actually have people delivering food during the movie?

[00:40:53] I didn't see it.

[00:40:54] Yes!

[00:40:55] How else are you going to get it?

[00:40:56] So they didn't stop when the movie started.

[00:40:57] No!

[00:40:58] Still, following around the dark delivering food while they were in the movies.

[00:41:01] Yeah, they can know it.

[00:41:02] They got it all delivered before the movie started.

[00:41:05] Yeah, but if I wanted a second beer, I could have gone and said order the burger or

[00:41:10] like grab my trailer and then take that.

[00:41:12] No, you can't.

[00:41:13] You can.

[00:41:14] Oh, you can.

[00:41:15] Yeah, absolutely it has to.

[00:41:16] What's the point?

[00:41:17] You can't.

[00:41:18] You can go down and get one.

[00:41:19] You can't order anything after the movie started.

[00:41:21] Okay, what part of you can't get one?

[00:41:23] If I wanted to go poop in the middle of the movie and then say, hey, bring me a cheeseburger

[00:41:29] baby.

[00:41:30] They wouldn't do it.

[00:41:31] They would do it.

[00:41:32] No.

[00:41:33] Yeah, they would.

[00:41:34] No, they wouldn't.

[00:41:35] Yeah, I don't think so.

[00:41:36] You know what, it's VIP.

[00:41:37] I wanted it.

[00:41:38] I'd get it.

[00:41:39] I can't order my popcorn.

[00:41:40] I think your mistaken.

[00:41:41] You have to, food service stops once the movie starts.

[00:41:43] Once the trailer starts, I don't think they take anymore orders.

[00:41:46] It's just in the way.

[00:41:47] In the way.

[00:41:48] In their little thing, I think you're mistaken.

[00:41:50] You just making stuff up.

[00:41:51] I'm just angry because that's not how I want to see it.

[00:41:53] No, neither.

[00:41:54] I'm a purist.

[00:41:55] I want to go to a movie theater to actually see a movie.

[00:41:57] That's right.

[00:41:58] I want food.

[00:41:59] I'll use smuggled in or else I'll buy it at the end.

[00:42:01] They're going to strip search Mer from now on.

[00:42:04] Okay, so that's my first rage is VIP and giant.

[00:42:06] I wonder what's with these multiple lame rages?

[00:42:09] That was the best.

[00:42:10] Okay, you know what?

[00:42:12] Don't make me talk about your emotive and episode.

[00:42:15] That was good.

[00:42:16] He might throw a 31.

[00:42:18] But my second rage is Bloom House.

[00:42:20] I fucking hate that production company now.

[00:42:23] There's nothing they're putting out that's any good.

[00:42:25] I'm just tired of it.

[00:42:27] If it comes out to this Bloom House, I'm kind of afraid to go see it.

[00:42:31] That's my rage.

[00:42:32] Those two.

[00:42:33] Mm-hmm.

[00:42:34] Duo, Lingo.

[00:42:35] That's right.

[00:42:36] All for all say.

[00:42:38] Mmm.

[00:42:39] Interesting.

[00:42:41] I couldn't agree more.

[00:42:45] And I couldn't care less.

[00:42:47] Just like you and your stupid Oscars.

[00:42:52] Right.

[00:42:53] Who are you talking to?

[00:42:55] Me or Mer?

[00:42:56] Both of you.

[00:42:57] Apparently both of us.

[00:42:59] Yeah.

[00:43:00] I see set the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

[00:43:08] Huh.

[00:43:09] Huh.

[00:43:10] Huh.

[00:43:11] Huh.

[00:43:12] Any rate?

[00:43:13] My rage is VIP cinemas.

[00:43:20] What?

[00:43:21] It is not.

[00:43:22] You're a lady.

[00:43:23] It kind of is.

[00:43:24] Actually, my rage is anywhere.

[00:43:25] It's more logical than ours.

[00:43:26] But it's because of the VIP cinemas that I bring that it comes up is being asked to tip

[00:43:35] before any service has been given.

[00:43:38] That's insane.

[00:43:39] That makes no sense to me.

[00:43:41] So if I go to the mall and I order a burger and I order popcorn, I order drink,

[00:43:46] and whatever I'm ordering,

[00:43:49] well, I'm not going to tip you before I've gotten any service.

[00:43:53] Like, what is that's insane?

[00:43:55] Why is this even a thing?

[00:43:56] Well, it's no different than them adding 15% on to your bill.

[00:43:59] How about when I go buy a coffee?

[00:44:03] And they are now wanting me to tip to give them to pour my coffee and hand it across the counter tip.

[00:44:09] Yeah, I don't...

[00:44:10] And what stuff, all that stuff, I don't even bother anymore.

[00:44:13] It's insane.

[00:44:14] You got it.

[00:44:15] How about fast food?

[00:44:16] Unless I'm actually getting served by food.

[00:44:18] Oh, that's another one too.

[00:44:19] There's no way.

[00:44:20] I actually go in and pick up food for my mom who doesn't, you know, isn't mobile anymore.

[00:44:23] And thanks for being a tip them when I go and pick up the food in person.

[00:44:26] Like at Dennings?

[00:44:27] Yeah, like, I'm not going to give you a tip for making the food.

[00:44:30] I can't pick that up on myself.

[00:44:32] Yeah.

[00:44:33] There is no service involved.

[00:44:35] There's no service involved.

[00:44:36] Yeah, yeah.

[00:44:37] I agree.

[00:44:38] That...

[00:44:39] So what...

[00:44:40] Sorry, what was your...

[00:44:41] Well, the IP service.

[00:44:42] Tipping before the service with the VIP.

[00:44:44] So after...

[00:44:45] How was the service that you got?

[00:44:46] By the way.

[00:44:47] They brought me the food and that was the end of it.

[00:44:49] Was that the service involved?

[00:44:50] And that's the other thing.

[00:44:51] It's not really service because you're in a movie theater so as soon as the lights go down they disappear.

[00:44:57] And there is no service.

[00:44:58] So...

[00:44:59] They're not getting a refill on your water.

[00:45:00] No, so they basically bring your food over and that's the end of it.

[00:45:03] Carrier, my lady.

[00:45:04] I'm going to tip you 20% on that.

[00:45:06] And they're forcing you to get that that way.

[00:45:09] Well, they're forcing you to pay before even get us any service anyway.

[00:45:12] No, no, but no, they didn't force you to tip.

[00:45:14] They never force you to tip.

[00:45:15] No, no, they're forcing you...

[00:45:16] They're forcing you to...

[00:45:17] They're forcing you to have a delivery to your...

[00:45:20] Well, the look of disappointment on her face when I hit...

[00:45:23] When I hit no tip was like I thought she was going to cry.

[00:45:26] She did cry.

[00:45:27] Did you notice that another person brought it back?

[00:45:30] She was crying in the bathroom.

[00:45:31] Yeah, very well.

[00:45:32] You were the only four people...

[00:45:35] Why is it so hard to move stuff?

[00:45:37] That was their whatever 20% of...

[00:45:40] Next time you eat...

[00:45:41] Go to the brew house and buy and order food before the movie.

[00:45:45] That's all I'm saying.

[00:45:46] Do they have some nice vegan options there?

[00:45:48] Yes, of course.

[00:45:49] French fries are on everybody's menu.

[00:45:51] But there's like 10 different restaurants in that area.

[00:45:53] You could eat any of them before the movie.

[00:45:55] That's true.

[00:45:56] For a lot cheaper.

[00:45:57] Well, I couldn't because of coming from work in the movie started like 15 minutes after

[00:46:01] I got to the place.

[00:46:03] So...

[00:46:04] I mean, wasn't happening.

[00:46:05] Yeah, anyway.

[00:46:06] Yeah.

[00:46:07] Sorry, what was going on?

[00:46:08] If you like me treat you like a rock star, I guess you'd like to be an IP experience.

[00:46:11] It sounds like you're for the rest of us.

[00:46:13] Not so much.

[00:46:14] It sounds like your rage is the worst this week.

[00:46:16] Mary, who would you vote?

[00:46:17] My rage was better.

[00:46:18] Oh, Murray's not impartial.

[00:46:20] Ask Charlie.

[00:46:21] Whose rage was worse Charlie's?

[00:46:22] Charlie's not impartial.

[00:46:23] Charlie's point that you there, Jack.

[00:46:25] I don't think so.

[00:46:26] Your hand puppet.

[00:46:27] You know what?

[00:46:28] You know what?

[00:46:29] You're not a rage but the same thing.

[00:46:30] He's got a scarf.

[00:46:32] And a...

[00:46:33] Well, he looks dapper.

[00:46:34] And a liver receptor.

[00:46:35] Given I had a problem with the VIP cinema in general.

[00:46:40] Yes.

[00:46:41] Bryce just doesn't like this.

[00:46:42] Bryce is just cheap.

[00:46:43] He doesn't like tipping.

[00:46:44] That's his problem.

[00:46:45] That's his issue.

[00:46:46] I don't like tipping for nothing.

[00:46:48] That's all.

[00:46:50] Yeah, that's okay.

[00:46:52] Which is exciting.

[00:46:54] Bus flying.

[00:46:55] Anger.

[00:46:57] Anger fading.

[00:46:58] Fading.

[00:46:59] Don't jump his line.

[00:47:00] Yeah, whatever.

[00:47:01] Or the line.

[00:47:02] Do what I want.

[00:47:03] Last time on rage or dare or Casey.

[00:47:06] Bryce decided to grow up here and Casey himself.

[00:47:09] I'm sorry.

[00:47:10] I'm sorry.

[00:47:11] I'm sorry.

[00:47:12] I'm sorry.

[00:47:13] I'm sorry.

[00:47:14] I'm sorry.

[00:47:15] I'm sorry.

[00:47:16] I'm sorry.

[00:47:17] I'm sorry.

[00:47:18] I'm sorry.

[00:47:19] I'm sorry.

[00:47:20] I'm sorry.

[00:47:21] I'm sorry.

[00:47:23] I'm sorry.

[00:47:24] I'm sorry.

[00:47:25] I'm sorry.

[00:47:26] He picked the marky mark monkey mess of a movie that is the Tim Burton 2001 reimagining of.

[00:47:29] planning of the apes.

[00:47:30] this week Jim has the chance to fully empty Bryce's romcom musical back of wonder

[00:47:37] I sure hope it's a musical this time.

[00:47:42] Now let's head back to the monkey business that is Bryce's thoughts on a remake of Planet of the Apes

[00:47:46] Which I hear as a style of movie he doesn't even like in the first place.

[00:47:50] You know, science fiction films?

[00:47:53] Oh and also monkeys.

[00:47:55] Oh yes and also Mark Wahlberg.

[00:47:58] And Tim Burton.

[00:48:01] This is your all genres.

[00:48:04] I'm like, how like monkeys just as much as an ex guy?

[00:48:08] What do you guys think of the movie?

[00:48:09] Only of James Franco's in the movie.

[00:48:11] Only James Franco monkey movies.

[00:48:13] Yeah, honestly the Planet of the Apes franchise is when it got rebooted.

[00:48:19] I mean, I'm digging what they're doing.

[00:48:21] What about the original franchise price?

[00:48:23] The original franchise sucked and then when Tim Burton decided to remake it that was kind of ridiculous.

[00:48:28] But it's Tim Burton.

[00:48:30] Wait we're gonna hear about this right now.

[00:48:32] Well yeah not really.

[00:48:34] What do you mean we're not gonna really hear about it?

[00:48:36] What's there to talk about?

[00:48:37] We want to know what you felt.

[00:48:39] I will say that it was better than the first time I watched it.

[00:48:43] Mark Wahlberg's still terrible.

[00:48:45] Tim Roth was actually kind of good in it.

[00:48:48] Michael Clark Duncan was kind of good in it.

[00:48:51] How about him Carter was disappointing in it but I like Paul Giamatti.

[00:48:55] He was good in it.

[00:48:56] There's a lot of guys that were, you know, even though they're under five pounds of prosthetics,

[00:49:01] they were bringing it.

[00:49:03] They were bringing it to some really poorly written dialogue.

[00:49:07] And it all looked pretty bad.

[00:49:10] You'd think that, you know, what 25, 30 years later they could maybe make it look a little better than it looked but they didn't.

[00:49:17] Everybody still.

[00:49:18] Sure sure sure.

[00:49:19] Everybody make out will look better than...

[00:49:20] Well it's looked the same.

[00:49:21] They both had like stiff, like their lips kind of moved the same way even though it was like 30 years later.

[00:49:26] Like that was kind of the worst part of that whole thing is like they looked like.

[00:49:31] These make up instead of CGI.

[00:49:33] You know the things that get me is in these Planet of the Apes movies,

[00:49:38] the scale of the Apes are not at all real in any way, shape or form

[00:49:46] because they're putting these ape costumes on because the chimpanzee is like a quarter of the size of a gorilla.

[00:49:53] This is Planet of the Apes so there's no rules there.

[00:49:56] They can be bigger, smaller, whatever.

[00:49:58] They're talking frickin' intelligent apes, whatever.

[00:50:01] They take the belt differently in many ways apparently.

[00:50:04] In every single one it's always like damn you, damn you all to hell so whatever it is.

[00:50:10] They didn't just start evolving to...

[00:50:13] No, you're...

[00:50:14] Anyways, you're crazy.

[00:50:15] Tim Burton managed to also take like the only good thing about Planet of the Apes was the ending

[00:50:21] and he managed to just completely mess that up.

[00:50:24] I don't know what he was thinking of doing the way he did it.

[00:50:27] It doesn't... I try to figure out why he thinks that it makes sense.

[00:50:31] I don't think it makes sense.

[00:50:33] It was kind of annoying.

[00:50:35] Mark Wahlberg is not good in anything.

[00:50:39] I don't know...

[00:50:40] I enjoy him.

[00:50:41] I had a time where I thought that he was okay, like I really did but...

[00:50:45] I just don't like him anymore but I guess he's got a movie coming up with a dog which I can end up with.

[00:50:50] He always has movie so many hours.

[00:50:52] It's probably a conversion film too.

[00:50:55] Yeah, yeah it's not a religious movie. It's usually young to bed.

[00:50:58] Oh well there you go.

[00:50:59] He's a box office straw.

[00:51:01] Wait, wasn't he in that movie uncharted?

[00:51:03] Does everyone remember that?

[00:51:05] Yeah I remember that he was.

[00:51:06] And he was better than the other guy put it that way.

[00:51:09] Wasn't he also in a bunch of transformer movies?

[00:51:11] That he was.

[00:51:12] Also Terry?

[00:51:13] Oh no, was he?

[00:51:14] I thought I was Shilah Buf.

[00:51:15] No, Shilah was only in the first two but the most important thing about it was did he take his shirt off brace?

[00:51:21] There was a time where I swear every single contract.

[00:51:24] Nobody cares if he took his shirt off.

[00:51:26] Nobody wants to see him take his shirt off.

[00:51:28] Maybe you want to rip it off before they chain him up.

[00:51:32] Anyway so...

[00:51:33] You have to at least remember that.

[00:51:34] Tim Burton remakes a movie and the only good thing about the first one is the ending

[00:51:38] and he managed to just Tim Burton it up.

[00:51:41] And it was not good.

[00:51:44] It was a rage but it was better than I thought it was going to be.

[00:51:47] Because I remember leaving the theater thinking wow that was like the worst piece of crap that I've ever seen.

[00:51:55] And now that I've rewatched it, it's just a really really really big piece of crap.

[00:52:01] So maybe in 20 years it'll get a man.

[00:52:05] I don't know watch it again in 20 years see what happens.

[00:52:07] I don't think it's a big price for 70 year old eyes.

[00:52:11] Can you believe that this year I'm going to be half a freaking decade.

[00:52:14] Yeah, no.

[00:52:15] Oh awesome.

[00:52:16] Welcome to the club.

[00:52:18] Exactly.

[00:52:19] We've been there for a while.

[00:52:21] Anyways this movie was pretty stinky but you know whatever.

[00:52:26] Okay you know what everybody who's listening who has either seen it and they can't remember it or they have seen it

[00:52:34] and they still can't remember or they just want to go back and watch it.

[00:52:38] Is this just need to know does Mark Walbert take his shirt off or not?

[00:52:41] No he doesn't and who cares?

[00:52:43] Well because I swear he had a con in every one of his contracts.

[00:52:47] Yes.

[00:52:48] That he had to take his shirt off because Tim Burton didn't want to see Mark Walbert take his shirt off.

[00:52:52] You know I almost want to watch the movie now.

[00:52:54] I'm sure he'll have a good line.

[00:52:55] I think you're lying.

[00:52:56] I think he took his shirt off.

[00:52:58] I don't think he did too.

[00:52:59] Did he change his shirt?

[00:53:01] I don't.

[00:53:02] No, he was where...

[00:53:03] I don't know.

[00:53:04] I don't care.

[00:53:05] It's the only thing that I find interesting.

[00:53:07] It's kind of like when we used to play the drinking game when Jawed Claw and Van Dam movies were out

[00:53:12] where it would be like at what point in the movie did he do the splits.

[00:53:15] It was kind of like the same thing with Walbert.

[00:53:17] When he took his shirt off, everybody had to take a hit.

[00:53:20] Yeah okay.

[00:53:22] Yeah it's a thing.

[00:53:23] Anyways sir.

[00:53:24] Alright I'm gonna empty your bag in my hand.

[00:53:28] Sorry my bag.

[00:53:30] Yeah I got a juicy...

[00:53:32] Do you realize there's only one more in there?

[00:53:34] I know.

[00:53:35] I'm trying to get it.

[00:53:36] I think I remember which one it was.

[00:53:39] There's so many bags.

[00:53:40] You are in for it mister.

[00:53:41] You know what?

[00:53:42] I don't believe it.

[00:53:43] Okay here we go.

[00:53:45] I am taking out...

[00:53:47] What's this thing right here?

[00:53:49] Okay hold on, that's so good.

[00:53:52] What?

[00:53:53] It's quite the reaction there Jim.

[00:53:58] I don't have to hear that it deserves that every action but okay.

[00:54:02] Well it's got my boy in it.

[00:54:04] It does be it's got by Matthew McConaughey.

[00:54:07] Yeah 2008.

[00:54:08] Yeah it's got Matthew McConaughey in it.

[00:54:11] Alright alright.

[00:54:12] Fools.

[00:54:13] Can you guess the last part of that?

[00:54:18] Go.

[00:54:19] It is.

[00:54:20] It is cool.

[00:54:21] I remember I like go.

[00:54:23] Matthew McConaughey, Keith Hudson, Donald Southern.

[00:54:26] He has something in it.

[00:54:27] He's got Ray Winston in it.

[00:54:29] Who doesn't love Ray Winston?

[00:54:30] You know what?

[00:54:31] I seem to remember really hating this because I think I thought that Kate Hudson...

[00:54:38] No.

[00:54:39] I couldn't remember who is in it.

[00:54:40] I just remember Matthew was in it and this was in the era when I didn't like Matthew McConaughey.

[00:54:45] But now that I love Matthew McConaughey, I think I might go back and see this with new eyes.

[00:54:50] He's gonna do a couple of turkeys.

[00:54:51] I can't all be you know.

[00:54:53] I think maybe now that I love him so much I might really like this.

[00:54:56] There you go.

[00:54:58] What?

[00:54:59] You disagree?

[00:55:00] Good luck with that.

[00:55:02] What?

[00:55:03] Plus, is Matthew McConaughey plays the most ridiculous character maybe ever on film in this?

[00:55:10] But Keith Hudson...oh man does she bring it in this.

[00:55:14] You are infrared.

[00:55:15] He does.

[00:55:16] He always brings you like the tealion of Jurassic Park 3 and he's like the Goldie on of everything.

[00:55:22] She is so good in this gym.

[00:55:24] She is like Goldie.

[00:55:26] How can you remember that?

[00:55:27] You can't even remember your name half the time.

[00:55:31] But you can remember Kate Hudson and I remember the worst of the worst.

[00:55:35] Because he's get this is.

[00:55:37] You know the thing that most frightens me about this?

[00:55:40] What's that?

[00:55:41] Is that I've emptied his bag and he's got a hole because I think he created that bag like a year and a half ago.

[00:55:46] So he has a whole year and a half of movies that he's heard me talk about hated.

[00:55:50] For a year and a half he's gonna have the entire bag of torture for me to look for.

[00:55:55] I haven't even started.

[00:55:57] I don't think you remember any of them.

[00:55:59] I've got about five in my head right off.

[00:56:01] So I know there's at least five that I know they're going to have.

[00:56:03] Is there...do they all start Kate Hudson?

[00:56:05] My ice cream bucket is more just saying that.

[00:56:08] None of them do you know what we'll look at that.

[00:56:10] Nice.

[00:56:11] This was a pretty rage filled fun time not gonna lie.

[00:56:16] I don't know, I thought this episode was subpar gym.
