[00:00:00] It's time to feel the rage.

[00:00:10] Welcome to Film Rage where we talk, movies, and theaters streaming in classic films as

[00:00:15] well.

[00:00:16] Directors and actors beware as you cannot hide from the rage.

[00:00:19] My name is Bryson, I'm part of the Film Rage crew, which also includes Jim.

[00:00:22] Hey there Jim.

[00:00:23] Hey, hey, brush!

[00:00:25] And fresh off his vacation to the Dominican Republic. Although it could be a childish movie, but it can't be made specifically for children Okay, yeah now let's get to region but first here's a word from our sponsor Hey Bryce, what are you doing tonight?

[00:01:41] I'm going to my favorite cinema Canyon meadow cinema to see the best second-run movies at the best price

[00:04:21] Well, he better get the first one right. have eight horsepower that doesn't like being slowed down. So if you got bald tires though, isn't more of your tire on the ice so you should have better control? No, that's not how it's supposed to be. Not when you drive a V8 and have a rear wheel drive. Yeah, you should see. But more of your tire is in contact with the surface so you should have better control. I had winter tires that didn't help.

[00:04:23] I had winter tires that didn't help.

[00:04:25] Just saying.

[00:04:26] Anyway.

[00:04:27] So I didn't go out, right. Mondo, Mondo. Got it. Driveaway Dolls. Driveaway Dolls. I was going to go see because it was a Coen movie. Not brothers. Half a Coen. Half a Coen. Apparently the less talented one. Why do you say that? Just saying. What are you basing this on? I don't know.

[00:05:40] His last few movies.

[00:05:41] Did he hit by himself?

[00:05:42] No.

[00:05:43] Yeah.

[00:05:44] So, it looked interesting.

[00:05:46] I kind of wanted to see. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. Whatever. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. So, we saw Perfect Days. You got to see it twice. This is the second time I've seen it, yes. Yeah. So why don't you tell... Because the last time you talked about it,

[00:07:00] we really didn't have a lot we were allowed to say about it.

[00:07:03] No, we didn't.

[00:07:03] Yeah, we did.

[00:07:04] So we just kind of kept it to a little bit of a, you know, sprinkling.

[00:07:08] Yeah, I liked it. The animals, Otis Redding, the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and Van Morrison to name a few. The man has some good taste in music. And then it's off to work where he cleans public toilets around the city. At his job he takes pride in every toilet he cleans, even getting out a mirror to inspect the places it hides from casual viewing. He interacts with various folks and coworkers, he eats lunch and takes a picture of a tree.

[00:08:24] And at the end of the day, he may go these scenes makes a film that is a beautiful Experience. I love this movie. It is Mondo No surprise. No Okay, now here's what I thought about it so the what people have been wanting to know is what what is it really what is it actually

[00:09:41] this film is a

[00:09:44] soft slow

[00:10:43] Do it to the best of your ability no matter what. And live a life that has the ability

[00:10:45] to have a perfect day every day.

[00:10:49] For some, it may be waking up every morning

[00:10:52] to your neighbor sweeping the walk,

[00:10:54] followed by getting an iced coffee from a vending machine,

[00:10:58] driving to some of the coolest,

[00:11:01] and I mean coolest public toilets anywhere in the world,

[00:11:05] and then spend all day cleaning them. sharing and caring and empathy and love for not just the common man, but all things that he comes into contact with. Yes, this movie is maybe about a man who cleans toilets, but it's much more as it is a blueprint we should all live by where we can care about things and people and find joy in every single thing that we do,

[00:12:23] whether we think this is the most glamorous thing we're doing.

[00:13:25] There's this, he has a partner, Murray, that is kind of,

[00:13:30] they both interact, they kind of align for one toilet cleaning.

[00:13:31] Yes, because there's a lot of toilets.

[00:13:33] In Japan, there's a ton, in Tokyo in particular,

[00:13:35] there's a ton.

[00:13:36] I want to go to Tokyo and just take a toilet tour, man.

[00:13:38] Yeah, man, these toilets are so cool.

[00:13:40] They're cleaner than ours.

[00:13:41] Yeah, oh, well, if he's still there, I'm sure they are.

[00:13:44] But so his partner is a And then he kind of looks over at him and he says, yeah, he's like, he just likes to come and play with my ears. And just the look on his face to say, yeah, you know what? Like he does this giant smile that just says, you are an idiot. You could see everything in his face.

[00:15:00] You are a complete idiot, but you are a kind soul.

[00:15:03] And right after that, like he does things for this kid

[00:15:06] that he never would have done because that was kind Little bit of easy one. Yeah, and it's not because it's a nominated for anything It just even though it is even though it is it just happens to be it might be a best-born feature Maybe it's not out of the realm of the 20,000 species of bees wasn't not that Anatomy the fall wasn't even nominated that category. So

[00:16:23] It's it's weird Harold and Kumar movie, I'm probably not interested in buddy films or road trip films or anything that has related with that. But this one was a bit of a switch one because number one, Harold and Kumar weren't in it.

[00:17:42] But also it didn't annoy me

[00:17:44] cause it had super hilarious dikes slash lesbians There's a lot of funny in this. And I laughed at a lot of it. After all, I do love, and I kind of mentioned this earlier, filthy lesbian humor and our leads, Margaret Kweli and Geraldine Wizzwanathan. Huh? See what I did there? Uh, we're quite awesome as the crazy friend and the straight man in regards

[00:19:03] to the, you know, road type movies, you know, see what I went all back to

[00:19:06] Bing Crosby and what's his face.

[00:20:03] much better this could have been if it had Joel Cohen involved. Exactly.

[00:20:04] So I did really enjoy it.

[00:20:07] But as I said, road movies are not my favorite.

[00:20:09] And Harold and Kumar aside, so count yourself lucky you're getting away with a very solid

[00:20:15] man.

[00:20:16] And I got things to unpack on this.

[00:20:17] And you know what else you would have got?

[00:20:19] What?

[00:20:20] If you would have got Joel Cohen.

[00:20:21] What?

[00:20:22] That's the McDormand.

[00:20:23] Yeah.

[00:20:24] She would have been in it too.

[00:20:25] I don't know who she would have played.

[00:20:26] Just saying.

[00:20:27] Doesn't matter.

[00:20:28] Doesn't fluid. Yeah. And there were there's great scenes in it. Yeah. But sometimes it just didn't flow and that was the

[00:21:43] only problem I had with it and it's it does lose some steam towards the end.

[00:23:00] At the beginning we've got just nothing but craziness going on, bang, bang, bang.

[00:23:04] It's rapid fire and then as these movies typically do kind of run a little long sometimes yeah this one did hour and 24 breezy minutes yeah and it's exactly what it should have been yep but but yeah it was it was man I enjoyed it a lot I laughed a lot there was just a lack fluidity and I don't know just it at

[00:24:23] the when you when you finish watching it you ask her ask her yeah so it was that and by the time no it's off the love gun yeah of course album but as this is revealed that this is what this is the guy and

[00:25:42] Matt Damon's gonna pay them a million ago. Now they're back together again. I don't get it. What's changed? Apparently, he's still not circumcised. Apparently. If that's his dick in the movie. I don't think it is. Maybe not. It had Matt Damon, so how would I know? Yeah, I don't know.

[00:27:01] Why is this conversation going down this avenue?

[00:27:03] Oh, no, we had to-

[00:27:04] Because we're talking about Matt Damon and big dicks.

[00:27:05] And then you had to sing-

[00:27:06] Yeah, and then his best he's gonna be singing Ken. I'm just Ken Again, it's not a different Oscar. He's gonna get to sing a song Just Ken was nominated for an Oscar for best song. Yes, it was as was the Billy I was wrong with this place. It's probably gonna win. I don't know well, I think it will is a joke. There was that

[00:28:23] flowers one

[00:29:21] Richard Lewis. Who may be one of the worst actors I've ever seen in anything,

[00:29:24] but sort of funny.

[00:29:26] Richard Lewis is stand-up comic?

[00:29:28] Yeah.

[00:29:29] Oh, okay.

[00:29:29] He died.

[00:29:30] 76.

[00:29:31] That's sad.

[00:29:31] 76?

[00:29:32] He was 76.

[00:29:33] He was 76, yeah.

[00:29:34] One thing I remember him from was that Robin Hood.

[00:29:38] Man in tights?

[00:29:39] Yeah, that one.

[00:29:40] Yeah, Richard Lewis was kind of funny.

[00:29:42] So he had the whole neurotic thing going on.

[00:29:44] He was okay.

[00:29:45] He wasn't the funniest guy I ever saw,

[00:29:47] but he had just moments.

[00:29:48] He was fine. Yeah cuz Bryce and I wanted to go sit and look down on all those below us at our movie theater and I walked into the movie theater and walked up two steps and every step I made to get to the top It was like I was losing oxygen Because it was so fucking hot in the cinema that we're in It's like, you know

[00:31:00] This is the reason why people don't go to the movies because it's more comfortable to sit in their house and watch it because they

[00:31:05] Can adjust their own temperature. It's like they can she had to kill a tree. She went out back, cut it down, scooped it out, poured plastic and wax on it, and then poured water in it. And then I took the glass, poured the water into my cup, and then she then threw that out, which killed a tree.

[00:32:20] And now our planet is dying because of her.

[00:32:23] Like, just infuriated me.

[00:32:24] She's a terrible person.

[00:32:25] She's the worst. Alright, yeah, my rage this week is I had... Why are you showing me a big picture of Richard Lewis?

[00:33:41] Because he's dead!

[00:33:42] Well, that's...

[00:33:43] Is that what made you rage?

[00:33:45] That's neither here nor there.

[00:33:46] Richard Lewis is dead? if you're part of their Cine Club, but nobody. Theoretically. Everybody's supposed to refill. Some of us don't even do that. Some of us just go and refill it. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I know. Yes. No, I'm with you. I don't hardly. I haven't eaten popcorn in none over ever. It's so salty right now. I don't know what's going on like it's so you get a but it's

[00:35:00] why you got a butter it up.

[00:35:01] You know what but on the good side here, you know the good

[00:35:05] side of this for people to realize at landmark.

[00:36:02] I thought they were kind of sad. Rage is upsetting.

[00:36:04] Kind of.

[00:36:05] Plus, slime and graffiti.

[00:36:09] Like rage-a-white.

[00:36:11] Yeah, alright.

[00:36:13] I'm Mondo.

[00:36:14] So, you know what?

[00:36:16] Just to let everybody know, we're going to be back to normal next week.

[00:36:19] We're going to have Rager Dare.

[00:36:21] Casey's back.

[00:36:22] We're going to have the list.

[00:36:23] There's so much going on next week.
