Welcome back ragers to the best movie review podcast on the planet. The rage rolls on from the Film Rage Studio.
This week the Film Rage Crew watched three films in cinema. Mean Girls re-imagined as a musical starts off the proceedings. Then they talk about The Book of Clarence which they completely disagree about but ultimately give the same rating. Then finally they review the Jason Statham film about protecting the bee hive. Then Bryce rambles incoherently about the 1999 version of The Haunting in our Rage or Dare segment.

[00:02:47] he predicts the rage, what the amazing moment, predict for what we saw last week.
[00:02:53] What the amazing moment, predict, what the amazing moment, predict when he tells us
[00:02:59] we're right.
[00:03:02] And everybody at home is also wondering what the heck this trick line orange mean.
[00:03:08] We don't care.
[00:03:10] Bryce is drinking a new drink called Cove Soda, which happens to be also what I am drinking in my cup.
[00:03:20] That I brought with me.
[00:03:21] I brought the orange.
[00:03:22] Got the probiotics going on.
[00:03:24] That's right.
[00:03:25] So Cove Soda.
[00:03:27] Yeah.
[00:03:28] I don't know if you're available all over the world, but you can get it at Costco in Canada.
[00:03:33] Yeah, it's actually pretty delicious.
[00:03:35] So Cove Soda wants to sponsor us.
[00:03:37] Yeah, bring it on.
[00:03:38] Bring it on Cove Soda.
[00:03:40] We're going to hashtag you everywhere this week.
[00:03:42] And if you happen to be by a Costco this week, it's like four or five bucks off.
[00:03:46] Five bucks off a case.
[00:03:47] Yep.
[00:03:48] Good stuff.
[00:03:49] Yeah, I actually really quite like I actually first tried it when I went to the dog breeder
[00:03:56] in a graph, Alberta.
[00:03:58] Who knew that they're everywhere?
[00:04:00] They were like serving up Cove Soda.
[00:04:02] Huh?
[00:04:03] I was like, Hey, I'll have a Cove Soda.
[00:04:05] I don't know what it is, but.
[00:04:06] What are they made?
[00:04:07] So I had a lemon lime and then on my way out, I'm like, can I have another one of these
[00:04:11] bad boys?
[00:04:12] And they said, yeah, sure.
[00:04:13] So I grabbed a grape and I'm like, where did you get these?
[00:04:15] And they said Costco.
[00:04:16] And then I like waited like six months because I don't know what it is.
[00:04:19] Maybe down in McGrath, they get stuff before us.
[00:04:22] McGrath's just the best place because there was no Cove Soda for at least four,
[00:04:27] five, six months.
[00:04:28] That's right.
[00:04:29] And all of a sudden, boom, there it was.
[00:04:30] I'm like, all right.
[00:04:31] There's so much Cove Soda and Murray.
[00:04:32] Apparently it's good for your gut and it's diet.
[00:04:35] And we're not getting paid anything for this.
[00:04:39] Cove Soda.
[00:04:40] Come on.
[00:04:41] And I can't even tell by looking at the can where it's from.
[00:04:44] So you know what?
[00:04:45] Our friends in the U.S., if there's Cove Soda, there, let us know.
[00:04:50] So, Murray, we saw three movies this week.
[00:04:54] Are you guys done?
[00:04:55] Maybe.
[00:04:56] Do you advertise some more?
[00:04:58] It's good stuff.
[00:04:59] Cove Soda.
[00:05:00] You know what?
[00:05:01] They don't have to pay me a penny.
[00:05:02] I'll sign it from the mount tops.
[00:05:04] Cove Soda is delightful.
[00:05:05] The shit.
[00:05:06] Piss of the odd.
[00:05:07] And all three flavors are quite tasty.
[00:05:10] Rage, rage, rage.
[00:05:12] Let's go.
[00:05:13] Is that what you're predicting this week?
[00:05:15] No, but it's true.
[00:05:16] Oh, okay.
[00:05:17] I don't even know what I gave you.
[00:05:21] Yeah.
[00:05:22] Okay.
[00:05:23] Mean girls because, you know, we all needed a new version of that one.
[00:05:27] Yes.
[00:05:28] I really like the first one.
[00:05:30] All I know about it is Tina Fey wrote the first one.
[00:05:33] Apparently, if you decide to act in this one.
[00:05:35] She acted in the first one too.
[00:05:37] I don't know.
[00:05:38] I saw it.
[00:05:39] She's everywhere.
[00:05:40] I think she was pretty much the same character in the first one.
[00:05:42] Was it Lindsay Lowe?
[00:05:43] Was it like 12 years old in the first one?
[00:05:44] No.
[00:05:45] She was like a young lady.
[00:05:46] She was a mean girl.
[00:05:47] She was.
[00:05:48] I think she must have been 17, 18 at least.
[00:05:50] Anyway, once again, it rebaked nobody needs.
[00:05:52] This is a musical apparently.
[00:05:54] I don't know maybe the other first one was too.
[00:05:57] I don't know.
[00:05:59] No, not much.
[00:06:00] You guys like musicals.
[00:06:01] I can't see him on doing this.
[00:06:03] Okay.
[00:06:04] So maybe a man.
[00:06:05] Okay.
[00:06:06] Mez for both of us?
[00:06:07] Yeah.
[00:06:08] Okay.
[00:06:09] Double mez on a musical.
[00:06:10] That is a bold, bold prediction.
[00:06:12] Do you remember the last musical I reviewed?
[00:06:14] Or I just don't care.
[00:06:15] Oh, maybe not.
[00:06:17] Then we got the book of Clarence.
[00:06:19] We know better.
[00:06:20] We know you can.
[00:06:21] Which if you are even 1% religious.
[00:06:25] We'll probably be offended by this movie.
[00:06:28] Not necessarily.
[00:06:29] Yes, I'm pretty sure you.
[00:06:31] I don't know that you would be pretty sure you might be.
[00:06:34] You might be it.
[00:06:35] I don't know.
[00:06:36] But just just open minded religious judging by the trailer.
[00:06:40] Not how you Satanists feel about religion.
[00:06:44] Okay.
[00:06:45] I'm pretty sure you mondo that one.
[00:06:47] Okay.
[00:06:48] Oh darn man.
[00:06:49] Mando start with the same letter again.
[00:06:51] I needed to write these down in a new.
[00:06:53] Moe and me and Moe.
[00:06:55] And we got my moe.
[00:06:58] The beekeeper.
[00:06:59] The beekeeper.
[00:07:00] The latest statham.
[00:07:01] The stathamator.
[00:07:03] Which is what I can tell is 99% action.
[00:07:07] There's a lot of action.
[00:07:09] I don't even know if there was a plot.
[00:07:11] There was punching, there was kicking.
[00:07:14] There was driving cars.
[00:07:16] There was white and honey on fire.
[00:07:18] Which I'm pretty sure is like Bryce's favorite stuff about movies.
[00:07:24] Yes.
[00:07:25] The action scenes in the driving.
[00:07:27] Two favorite parts.
[00:07:28] Two favorite parts.
[00:07:29] I'd be surprised if you didn't both give this a rage but whatever.
[00:07:33] Okay.
[00:07:34] This is what I might have actually gone to.
[00:07:36] It looked fun.
[00:07:37] There you go.
[00:07:38] All right.
[00:07:39] Did we see anything else?
[00:07:40] Is that all we saw?
[00:07:41] No, that's not.
[00:07:42] Well, we got other things to talk about.
[00:07:44] I gotta be honest.
[00:07:45] I didn't even remember that we saw it all.
[00:07:47] You know, we're.
[00:07:48] I remember the book of Clarence.
[00:07:49] We were kind of a little drunk on on tech issue today.
[00:07:54] I'm starting this two years, two years.
[00:07:57] It feels like two years we've been here two hours late and it's a long story but
[00:08:02] suffice to say the most important thing about it was lemon, lime and orange is
[00:08:07] you know, ultimately.
[00:08:08] Coke soda baby.
[00:08:09] Coke soda.
[00:08:10] Numbers.
[00:08:11] All right.
[00:08:12] So.
[00:08:13] You try to pour it on your lap.
[00:08:15] The first one we're going to talk about is Mean Girls.
[00:08:19] And as Murray said, a movie didn't need to be remade and didn't need to be
[00:08:25] remade made as a musical.
[00:08:27] I don't know.
[00:08:28] Bryce, tell us about Mean Girls.
[00:08:30] Mean Girls remake of the, you know, the movie.
[00:08:34] What was it called?
[00:08:35] Oh yeah, Mean Girls.
[00:08:37] Actually, you know, it's not really a remake of that movie.
[00:08:41] It's a remake of the musical while it's an adaptation of the original movie.
[00:08:48] After the movie.
[00:08:49] So the movie came first, then came the musical and then came this movie.
[00:08:54] Yeah.
[00:08:55] And it's a movie I guess.
[00:08:57] Yep.
[00:08:58] So yeah, story of Katie Herron.
[00:09:00] You know, she was in Kenya this time, not just kind of generalizes Africa.
[00:09:07] I think in the first one we didn't really know really where.
[00:09:10] What country?
[00:09:11] Because Africa is a country.
[00:09:12] They just called it Africa.
[00:09:13] Yeah.
[00:09:14] I could be wrong on that but I don't think I am.
[00:09:17] I wouldn't surprise me.
[00:09:19] But yeah, so she comes from Kenya and she tries to fit in at the new high school.
[00:09:25] And it's just all sorts of interesting things happen as she tries to adapt.
[00:09:31] And she meets some Mean Girls.
[00:09:33] But she doesn't know they're Mean Girls because she's pretty naive going in.
[00:09:36] But she gets set straight by a couple of friends that she makes early on.
[00:09:41] They inform her that the girls that are sitting at that table over there,
[00:09:46] they're the plastics and the plastics are Mean Girls.
[00:09:49] Plastic.
[00:09:50] They are plastic.
[00:09:52] They're actually not.
[00:09:54] They're actually made of flesh.
[00:09:55] They're not like mannequins or anything.
[00:09:58] Like blow-up dolls.
[00:09:59] This isn't like mannequin three high school mannequins.
[00:10:04] No.
[00:10:05] They're real people.
[00:10:06] This is an Andrew McCarthy.
[00:10:07] No, Andrew and Man, although I wouldn't surprise me if Andrew McCarthy popped up in this.
[00:10:12] But he did not.
[00:10:13] Lucky for us.
[00:10:14] He did not.
[00:10:15] Anyway, story of Katie Herron.
[00:10:18] She makes some friends and they decide to get even with the Mean Girls
[00:10:25] and in doing so they kind of alienate the entire school.
[00:10:28] And I shouldn't say they do.
[00:10:30] Katie kind of buys into her own stuff.
[00:10:34] And just like the it's not really that much different than the original other than the fact that there's a lot less,
[00:10:42] which I do.
[00:10:43] I don't know.
[00:10:44] And at the time, you know, it was early 2000s and, you know,
[00:10:48] there were a lot of stereotypes in the first one that they played for laughs,
[00:10:52] which they didn't really do at all in this one.
[00:10:54] So that was sort of refreshing.
[00:10:57] It's one of those movies like the original didn't.
[00:11:00] It's not completely dated when you watch it, but there's some dated stuff in there.
[00:11:03] And that's what happens.
[00:11:06] So that was appreciated that there wasn't like a, you know, there weren't some of some of that stuff.
[00:11:11] But at the end of the day, it did not need to be made.
[00:11:15] The performances were fine.
[00:11:17] I mean, we got and we got Tim Meadows.
[00:11:19] I mean, come on, Mr. DuVall.
[00:11:21] I can't get enough of Mr. DuVall.
[00:11:23] It doesn't matter if it's in this version, the other version.
[00:11:25] It doesn't even matter if it's in the ladies man.
[00:11:28] I just can't get enough of Tim Meadows.
[00:11:31] I mean, he's Tim Meadows.
[00:11:34] As far as the casting goes, I don't know.
[00:11:37] I kind of thought Regina George was very well cast.
[00:11:40] I thought that, I thought that Avantika as Karen Shetty as Karen,
[00:11:47] one of the plastics and Gretchen Wieners, Bibi Wood.
[00:11:50] I thought they were well cast.
[00:11:52] I wasn't a fan of and Gory Rice as Katie Herron.
[00:11:56] She would be the weakest.
[00:11:58] She was the weakest probably bit of casting of all of it.
[00:12:01] And she's not nowhere near what Lindsay Lohan was to the first movie.
[00:12:05] No one is.
[00:12:07] In her defense with this being put into a musical,
[00:12:11] this end up being, it was always an ensemble cast,
[00:12:14] but this was more of an ensemble and people got a little,
[00:12:17] I felt like this one, everyone got a little more time
[00:12:20] than maybe the original where it was focused on Katie.
[00:12:22] Yeah, I would agree.
[00:12:24] But what am I trying to get at?
[00:12:27] Oh yeah, this was a complete waste of time.
[00:12:29] What?
[00:12:30] But in between the super annoying musical notes,
[00:12:36] there were still a lot of laughs to be had
[00:12:39] because no matter what you think of the original,
[00:12:41] or no matter what you think of them remaking the original,
[00:12:44] the heart of it's still there.
[00:12:46] There are still scenes in there that were in the original
[00:12:49] that were that are still funny now.
[00:12:51] So there was a lot of humor in it.
[00:12:54] And I laughed on more than one occasion.
[00:12:56] And a couple times I laughed like quite heartily.
[00:12:59] That's right.
[00:13:00] So was it a complete waste of time?
[00:13:02] No, did it need to be remade?
[00:13:05] No.
[00:13:06] No?
[00:13:07] Did I enjoy parts of it?
[00:13:09] Yeah.
[00:13:11] Was it a rage?
[00:13:13] I don't think it was a rage because I enjoyed too much of it.
[00:13:17] And I thought a lot of the performances were very good.
[00:13:20] So I'm going to give it a man.
[00:13:22] OK.
[00:13:23] Didn't see that coming, did you, Murr?
[00:13:26] Yeah, you did.
[00:13:27] You said math.
[00:13:28] Yeah, I know.
[00:13:29] I was being facetious.
[00:13:32] No, you're being sarcastic.
[00:13:34] Facetious implies that there's some meanness to it.
[00:13:37] There was no meanness there.
[00:13:39] There was mean intent.
[00:13:41] Really?
[00:13:42] You were trying to be vicious with that?
[00:13:43] Yeah, with you.
[00:13:44] I'll screw you.
[00:13:48] OK, so.
[00:13:49] Did I mention how delicious cold soda is?
[00:13:52] Not enough.
[00:13:53] Cold soda.
[00:13:54] If you're looking for some ultimate refreshment,
[00:13:57] go to Costco right now and buy some because man, is it good?
[00:14:01] It's delicious.
[00:14:02] And your gut will thank you for it.
[00:14:04] I might go grab another one while Jim's talking.
[00:14:06] Yeah, watch that.
[00:14:07] So yes, another musical.
[00:14:11] Well, it seems either I'm handing out Mondos for musicals
[00:14:17] or I'm watching the color purple.
[00:14:20] The opening of this started in a real cool and awesome song
[00:14:27] by the two greatest things about this film who Bryce didn't even mention.
[00:14:32] A little Lee.
[00:14:34] I don't know if it's the proper pronunciation.
[00:14:36] Sorry, a Lee, a gravel, gravel hose playing Janice.
[00:14:42] Oh, it's Janice and Jack Jackwell Spivey.
[00:14:46] Yeah, it's a wall.
[00:14:47] Jackwell Spivey was good.
[00:14:49] But you're a were both the best.
[00:14:52] Lee Cravalo was was fantastic that both they were the best singers.
[00:14:57] Their harmonies were so fucking bang on.
[00:15:00] Yeah, no, they were and they were they were entertained.
[00:15:03] They were they were the best thing about this movie.
[00:15:05] She was the best thing about this movie.
[00:15:07] No, he was also great in it.
[00:15:08] I actually I well her and have antica.
[00:15:10] They were they were both great as Karen and for the first
[00:15:13] three point five minutes of this quote unquote musical.
[00:15:17] Yeah, I thought yes, this isn't a color purple musical.
[00:15:22] It's the other type.
[00:15:24] But then for the rest of the film it was mostly the type of music
[00:15:31] that I get in musicals that annoy the living fuck right out of me.
[00:15:35] You know, singing stupid lyrics and having dance numbers where
[00:15:40] there isn't one needed except when Damien and Janice were involved
[00:15:44] and then it was just so much fun and damn those two could sing.
[00:15:47] Did I mention that already?
[00:15:48] You did and you know what?
[00:15:49] I think when they were in the cafeteria,
[00:15:51] they might have been drinking cove soda.
[00:15:54] They weren't.
[00:15:55] That's what I thought they should have been drinking cove soda.
[00:15:59] That might have pumped this up a little bit.
[00:16:01] It would have been a mongo.
[00:16:02] The other part to know then I might in this musical because I did
[00:16:07] because the local empire to know what are they called landmark
[00:16:11] landmark cinemas.
[00:16:12] They also cove soda.
[00:16:14] Get on it.
[00:16:15] Landmark.
[00:16:16] Yeah, get some cove soda in your gullet.
[00:16:19] Yeah.
[00:16:20] So the other part to know is this musical was not only a musical.
[00:16:25] Yes.
[00:16:26] It was a mu com.
[00:16:28] Oh, a mu com.
[00:16:29] A musical comedy.
[00:16:31] Yes.
[00:16:32] And the comedy of this was written by the one and only
[00:16:34] Liz Lemon herself, Tina Fey.
[00:16:36] Yeah.
[00:16:37] I don't know what that Liz Lemon means, but it's only her most
[00:16:40] famous role she's ever been in.
[00:16:42] But you know, what do you know?
[00:16:44] It was funny and awesome.
[00:16:46] And if only this wasn't a musical,
[00:16:48] this could have been the best comedy of 2024 so far.
[00:16:52] Maybe.
[00:16:54] I don't think I've watched any comedy.
[00:16:57] Well, then I guess it then it is anyways.
[00:17:02] It also didn't hurt that Tim Meadows and the fabulous
[00:17:07] Lindsay Lohan made an appearance in this.
[00:17:09] Apparently, as Bryce says, every movie is better because
[00:17:13] of Tim Meadows.
[00:17:14] It is.
[00:17:15] Is that the direct quote?
[00:17:17] I don't know if that was direct.
[00:17:19] Anytime Tim Meadows is on screen though, I will be smiling.
[00:17:22] I can't help but smile when I see Tim Meadows.
[00:17:25] I am in the same Tim Meadows camp.
[00:17:27] He's just so fantastic.
[00:17:28] Everything he said was funny.
[00:17:30] And the fact that him and Tina Fey were banging.
[00:17:32] Like he was in some really bad Adam Sandler movies,
[00:17:35] but when he was on screen.
[00:17:37] Yeah, it just made it so much better.
[00:17:40] So all that being said, it is a movie that didn't need to
[00:17:44] be remade as a musical or at all.
[00:17:48] True.
[00:17:49] And if you like musicals, this will definitely be one
[00:17:52] that you will like.
[00:17:54] I think me someone who up until last year didn't
[00:17:59] think there was good musicals, found the musical part,
[00:18:03] the worst part of this movie.
[00:18:05] If it wasn't a musical, it might have made it to a Mando.
[00:18:08] But it's no color purple.
[00:18:10] It actually was funny.
[00:18:12] And even though it was layered with teenage message
[00:18:16] repeated on nauseam, just like all other teenage
[00:18:20] mean girl or mean girl ripoffs.
[00:18:24] I didn't absolutely hate this.
[00:18:26] I hated a lot of the music except when those
[00:18:29] especially except when Damien and Janice were singing.
[00:18:32] Everything they sang was fun and happy
[00:18:35] and made him brought me joy.
[00:18:37] I don't know why I didn't mention Janice.
[00:18:39] Yeah, because you're dumb sometimes.
[00:18:40] Damien was okay.
[00:18:41] Yeah, you're dumb.
[00:18:42] Janice is a just a.
[00:18:43] Damien was awesome.
[00:18:44] They're both awesome.
[00:18:45] But Janice was also a treasure in the first one.
[00:18:48] It's a really good role.
[00:18:49] Yeah, it is.
[00:18:50] Yeah.
[00:18:51] Well agreed this.
[00:18:53] This wasn't so terrible.
[00:18:55] So Murray got it right.
[00:18:57] I gave this a man.
[00:18:58] You know what that means, Murr?
[00:19:00] That's exactly what it means.
[00:19:05] Yeah.
[00:19:06] I didn't hate this.
[00:19:08] Yeah.
[00:19:09] Anything you want to unpack it is good now.
[00:19:12] It's a fuzzy on my finger.
[00:19:14] I thought you know what I really thought all the
[00:19:17] comedy hit in this.
[00:19:19] Yeah, no, the everything on the comedy was fantastic.
[00:19:22] I mean, it's Tina Fey.
[00:19:24] So, you know, she's funny.
[00:19:26] She's just had a right.
[00:19:27] Yeah.
[00:19:28] Except when she's in dramatic roles, but that's another story.
[00:19:31] Yeah, it's what it is.
[00:19:33] All right.
[00:19:34] Now the one that probably everybody's excited to hear about.
[00:19:37] The Book of Clarence.
[00:19:39] The Book of Clarence.
[00:19:40] Like Keith Stanfield.
[00:19:42] Yes.
[00:19:43] So the cast in this was all so freaking stellar.
[00:19:48] Spectacular.
[00:19:50] As was the cinematography, the soundtrack and music.
[00:19:54] It was a good looking movie.
[00:19:55] It was great to see Benny Cumberbunds and James Mack in this.
[00:20:00] Mary Ann Jean Baptiste was also mesmerizing as ever.
[00:20:04] As Clarence's mom and Alfie Woodward was a brilliant surprise to see in this.
[00:20:11] Every single actor in this was at the absolute top of their games.
[00:20:16] Non-stop through the entire movie.
[00:20:18] The biggest problem with this is that it was trying to bring back a genre
[00:20:23] that I feel should have never been resurrected.
[00:20:26] And that's classic Bible stories.
[00:20:28] So don't get me wrong.
[00:20:30] I'm most excited about seeing Black Jesus.
[00:20:32] So that was possibly the best thing about this.
[00:20:35] But the story had an identity crisis, I feel.
[00:20:39] The comedy at times.
[00:20:41] No, let me rephrase that.
[00:20:42] The comedy at every time did not fit and wasn't funny.
[00:20:47] The intentions of the characters felt fake at times.
[00:20:50] And even the changes we see Clarence go through don't seem to fit
[00:20:54] or at least don't seem like the direction the story was traveling when he made those changes.
[00:20:59] And on top of that, the accents were very hit and miss.
[00:21:03] In fact, Clarence and his twin brother both have different accents, which made no sense.
[00:21:07] And throwing in a Bollywood dance party in the middle of the film also seemed like,
[00:21:12] what the fuck is happening here?
[00:21:14] And no, it did not make sense.
[00:21:16] And the runtime.
[00:21:17] If you are trying to remake Ben Hur, maybe it should be like 3.5 hours.
[00:21:23] But this running time of two hours still felt long to me.
[00:21:26] Character development was only existent in a very few characters.
[00:21:30] And as much as I absolutely, and I mean absolutely, love LaKeith Stanfield and everything,
[00:21:36] I could not love this conversion therapy film.
[00:21:40] I did not completely hate it for all the aforementioned reasons.
[00:21:44] You really think it was conversion?
[00:21:45] Dude, it's like totally Jesus written through the whole thing, man.
[00:21:52] Jesus even makes a few appearances.
[00:21:55] He does.
[00:21:56] It just happens to be Black Jesus, which is way better.
[00:21:59] But yeah, no, this was a man.
[00:22:01] I could not love this film.
[00:22:03] And part of the reason that I know I did not love this film
[00:22:06] is because the minute I walked out of this theater,
[00:22:09] I started forgetting everything about it.
[00:22:11] But I didn't hate it.
[00:22:12] There was a lot of things I could have hated in this
[00:22:14] and they were things in there.
[00:22:15] I did hate it, but I think the acting is stellar.
[00:22:19] I think it was a bold adventure that they tried to go on.
[00:22:23] I just feel it had a really, it really had a really hard identity crisis
[00:22:28] for what it was really trying to do.
[00:22:30] I didn't find any of the comedy landed whatsoever.
[00:22:32] And I got some unpacking.
[00:22:33] I completely think the comedy landed.
[00:22:36] John the Baptist when he's being baptized?
[00:22:39] But he's always freaking hilarious.
[00:22:41] That was, okay.
[00:22:42] So that wasn't, I wasn't finding it hilarious.
[00:22:45] I found it good because I also like him as an actor.
[00:22:49] So everything he's in.
[00:22:50] David Oya Lolo.
[00:22:51] Yeah, David Oya Lolo is always good.
[00:22:53] But to me, it wasn't funny.
[00:22:55] Like it could have been way funnier.
[00:22:57] And it's like they were, they held back on the comedy
[00:23:01] when they tried to put comedic parts in.
[00:23:03] And I've got a bit of unpacking, but let me know
[00:23:05] what you thought of the book of Clemens.
[00:23:08] I kind of disagree because I think that the book of Clemens,
[00:23:12] there's an unevenness to it.
[00:23:15] And I think it's by design.
[00:23:17] There is, it's a movie where you can watch the whole thing
[00:23:21] and you could ask, I think just as you've proven
[00:23:25] because you think it's like a Jesus conversion movie.
[00:23:28] I think you could have five different people watching it
[00:23:31] and I think you'd get five different opinions
[00:23:33] of what they took out of it.
[00:23:34] I think it's a movie.
[00:23:35] Okay, let me ask you a question then.
[00:23:37] So at the beginning of the movie,
[00:23:40] Clarence is what?
[00:23:43] Agnostic maybe?
[00:23:45] At the end of the movie, Clarence is what?
[00:23:48] He's Christian.
[00:23:49] So what happened in the movie?
[00:23:51] He got, he got Christianized.
[00:23:53] So did everybody in the movie.
[00:23:55] So how is this not a fucking Christian conversion
[00:23:57] therapy movie?
[00:23:58] Well because of the journey he took.
[00:24:00] Yeah, it doesn't matter.
[00:24:01] Like that at the end everybody's Christian in the movie.
[00:24:05] That's not Christian conversion.
[00:24:07] I don't know what the fuck it is.
[00:24:08] I don't know how you can say that they were all Christian.
[00:24:10] They were all Christian at the end.
[00:24:11] They all believed in Jesus first they believed in him
[00:24:13] and then they believed in Jesus because there was actual miracles.
[00:24:16] Well, well Jesus is actually in the movie.
[00:24:19] So yeah, that's what they actually see into the miracle.
[00:24:22] Actually see him to believe.
[00:24:24] Yeah, so I don't know what you're saying there.
[00:24:28] I'm saying that everybody was still converted even
[00:24:30] the guy who was unconvertible at the beginning of the movie.
[00:24:33] Sorry everyone it's spoiled at all.
[00:24:35] He's a Christian at the end.
[00:24:38] I should have probably said look out for the spoiler.
[00:24:41] Here's a spoiler.
[00:24:42] Clarence is a Christian just like everybody else in this fucking movie.
[00:24:45] Isn't James what's his name in this?
[00:24:47] Yeah, James Mack.
[00:24:48] Did you not?
[00:24:49] James McAvoy.
[00:24:50] Oh you debriviated him.
[00:24:51] Yeah, James Mack baby.
[00:24:52] Oh James Mack is.
[00:24:53] He's my, he's Mack Daddy.
[00:24:55] Benedict Cumberbatch is also in it.
[00:24:57] Cumberbunch is in it.
[00:24:58] I did not see him in the trailer.
[00:24:59] He's in it.
[00:25:00] He's a very small part in the trailer.
[00:25:02] He's definitely in the trailer.
[00:25:03] Cumberbunch is there and actually Cumberbunch had a pretty good role.
[00:25:06] Yeah, once again it was quite a humorous role.
[00:25:10] It wasn't really that humorous.
[00:25:12] It wasn't.
[00:25:13] No it wasn't.
[00:25:14] Anyway keep going with what you're saying.
[00:25:16] Other than everybody was converted to Christianity.
[00:25:18] I don't think it was.
[00:25:20] I don't think it was.
[00:25:22] I think there was a lot of discussion that could happen with this
[00:25:25] and I really don't feel like doing it right now.
[00:25:27] But why is that?
[00:25:28] Because it's not as great a movie as it is.
[00:25:30] No no, it's because I don't think everything's as cut and dry
[00:25:34] as you're making it seem.
[00:25:35] I think that there's a lot of gray in this movie
[00:25:38] and there's a lot of think for yourself in this movie
[00:25:41] as you're watching it and make your own decisions
[00:25:44] in the way that the story unfolds.
[00:25:47] I disagree that it's beating you over the head
[00:25:50] and to be like a Jesus movie.
[00:25:54] It's a movie with Jesus in it but it's not a Jesus movie.
[00:25:58] Everybody's converted at the end so that's a Jesus movie to me.
[00:26:01] I also don't believe that everybody's converted in the end.
[00:26:04] Okay, so who wasn't converted at the end?
[00:26:07] Jesus parents?
[00:26:08] Were they converted?
[00:26:09] Once again I believe that two different people have watched this movie
[00:26:14] and gotten completely different opinions out of it.
[00:26:17] Although I'm still undecided.
[00:26:18] I'm still thinking about a lot of stuff that I saw in this movie.
[00:26:21] So what is making you think the most?
[00:26:23] Because like...
[00:26:25] Was it about like that back in the Christian times,
[00:26:32] the Jesus times we'll call them,
[00:26:34] that they had like hookah bars where people got stoned
[00:26:38] and they had the...
[00:26:39] Clarence is a local drug dealer.
[00:26:41] Everybody must get stoned.
[00:26:43] Yeah, everybody.
[00:26:45] Like there's just stuff in it that doesn't make sense
[00:26:48] and it's like they make a period piece to be all Jesus-y and stuff
[00:26:53] and there was just parts in it that just didn't seem to fit together.
[00:26:56] Well, that's the whole thing. It was very confusing.
[00:26:58] It wasn't really confusing. The story is very singular.
[00:27:01] I think it was...
[00:27:02] No, see that's the whole thing is that I don't understand why you're saying it's like a singular...
[00:27:07] Well, I think it's all over the place and I think it's all over the place by design.
[00:27:13] Five bucks says at the end Clarence is a Christian
[00:27:15] and look at what he was.
[00:27:18] And the line was pretty firmly drawn.
[00:27:20] There was jumps in his character that there wasn't enough
[00:27:24] that happened in a certain way for him to jump all the way to that character.
[00:27:28] There was too many jumps in his character where he did things in the movie
[00:27:34] that wasn't based on what you'd seen his character do.
[00:27:37] So those are some of the things that I had the bigger problem with,
[00:27:40] but sorry, keep going.
[00:27:41] I didn't mean to.
[00:27:42] I'm just having problems that you have to think about this.
[00:27:45] There wasn't that much to think about.
[00:27:46] Well, there was a ton to think about.
[00:27:48] I'm still trying to figure out what that is.
[00:27:52] Convince me.
[00:27:54] Where's the deeper meaning in this?
[00:27:56] I've had a long day.
[00:28:00] You're the one still talking.
[00:28:03] Well, I keep talking about it.
[00:28:05] I'm trying to get something out of him that gives the real juice
[00:28:09] that he wants because if he's still on the fence between man and Mondo on this...
[00:28:14] No, it's definitely a math.
[00:28:17] Well, I don't need to fight with you anymore.
[00:28:19] If you're going to give this fucking thing a Mondo,
[00:28:22] then I could still fight for another hour on this.
[00:28:24] It is a very big movie.
[00:28:27] It makes sense most of the time and sometimes it loses its way,
[00:28:32] but I think it loses its way by design.
[00:28:35] I think I'm supposed to think about things.
[00:28:38] It's not just sloppy.
[00:28:41] You know what I think about this?
[00:28:43] I think I loved all the actors in this and that's what kept me in the story.
[00:28:48] But otherwise, there's just too many problems with the way this was structured.
[00:28:54] I'd like to see this...
[00:28:57] Yeah, I'd just like to see all those actors in a different movie.
[00:29:03] And I love the fact that 98.5% of the movie was all black actors.
[00:29:10] So that was awesome.
[00:29:12] There you go.
[00:29:14] Which probably would have been back in the day, too.
[00:29:18] Back in the...
[00:29:22] Whatever.
[00:29:26] I'm losing steam.
[00:29:27] He's losing steam, man.
[00:29:28] It's like midnight already here.
[00:29:31] We're all like IT punch drunk.
[00:29:34] Can we unpack at least a couple of the misfires and the jokes?
[00:29:38] Like when they're doing the stoning and the donkey joke comes up,
[00:29:40] I'm like that was just right out of left field and made no sense.
[00:29:43] What was the donkey joke?
[00:29:44] Oh, I was saying something about...
[00:29:46] He did an inference that the guy was fucking his donkey.
[00:29:49] Oh yeah, no, that was good.
[00:29:50] No, it was not funny.
[00:29:51] It was just out of place and it didn't make any sense based on the scene.
[00:29:55] Or the fact that the guy was doing a painting at the crucifixion.
[00:29:59] That was awesome.
[00:30:00] It was not! It didn't make any sense.
[00:30:02] It was funny.
[00:30:04] Or how about the scene where Clarence tells Brabis to run away.
[00:30:08] It made no sense.
[00:30:10] Brabis kicked the shit out of everybody and then that whole scene made no sense.
[00:30:17] Well, that wasn't funny though.
[00:30:19] It was also not making any sense.
[00:30:20] That wasn't supposed to be funny though.
[00:30:22] It just didn't make any sense.
[00:30:24] Didn't it though?
[00:30:26] He cared about his boy.
[00:30:27] Yeah, he could have got Brabis to kick the shit out of everybody.
[00:30:30] He was literally doing that when he said,
[00:30:33] Oh, run away.
[00:30:34] I'm just like what is going on right now?
[00:30:35] Yeah, because he's only so much you can do.
[00:30:39] Okay, well there he convinced me.
[00:30:41] Mer, looks like we gave that both of them.
[00:30:44] Did we?
[00:30:48] We seem to be disagreeing on it.
[00:30:52] There was things I liked about it, like all the actors.
[00:30:57] And Black Jesus.
[00:31:00] Yeah.
[00:31:01] Alright, so we also saw a movie called The Beekeeper,
[00:31:05] which is the one movie Murray wanted to see.
[00:31:08] I don't know the three.
[00:31:13] Just so we can take a record right now.
[00:31:16] We got four mazes on the board.
[00:31:19] I'm just saying that's a lot of mazes.
[00:31:23] Yeah, The Beekeeper is it's a movie
[00:31:27] and it stars Mr. Jason Statham.
[00:31:31] It's not unlike every other movie that he stars in.
[00:31:37] Sometimes he's in movies that are past the period.
[00:31:41] No, no, sometimes no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:31:44] Okay, Hobbs and Chai is the transporter if he stars in them.
[00:31:48] Transporter yeah it's like the transport.
[00:31:51] It's there. They're all the same.
[00:31:53] The ones are crank or crank to.
[00:31:55] If he's crank high voltage.
[00:31:58] Yeah, crank high voltage.
[00:32:00] That was two.
[00:32:02] If he stars in them then they're pretty much the same movie.
[00:32:04] If he's like supporting cast, if he's not the star of it,
[00:32:08] then they're different.
[00:32:09] So this is pretty much the same as every other action.
[00:32:12] Does Jason Statham have a curve like what's his face?
[00:32:16] No, no, he doesn't have a, he doesn't even need a curve.
[00:32:20] He's still Jason.
[00:32:22] I'm going to say this.
[00:32:24] Jason Statham no matter how much I hate any movie he's in
[00:32:28] and I do hate a lot of them.
[00:32:30] Yeah, he does have a charisma.
[00:32:33] He is nerve and talent.
[00:32:35] He is an action star.
[00:32:36] Like there's no question.
[00:32:38] There's only a few people that can do what he does in movies
[00:32:45] and make, he kind of makes bad movies watchable just because
[00:32:50] he's in them.
[00:32:52] Okay, so this just makes me think and this would be good
[00:32:55] for Murray's input here is do you think Jason Statham
[00:33:00] is the updated recent version of Jean-Claude Van Damme?
[00:33:04] That's my question.
[00:33:07] He's British is offering to Jean-Claude Van Damme.
[00:33:10] Well, he's a better actor.
[00:33:12] True.
[00:33:14] Okay, true.
[00:33:16] But still, Jean-Claude still has his, he has.
[00:33:19] Jean-Claude had a charm.
[00:33:21] He did have a charm, right?
[00:33:23] And he was in a lot that he was the star and you know
[00:33:26] he wasn't acting well.
[00:33:28] No, but no, he's not because I think I can't compare the two
[00:33:32] because Jason Statham actually can act.
[00:33:34] Okay.
[00:33:36] So is there anybody that Jean-Claude Van Damme right now?
[00:33:39] What?
[00:33:41] Is there anybody that Jean-Claude Van Damme is?
[00:33:43] That's Jean-Claude Van Damme right now?
[00:33:45] Other than Jean-Claude Van Damme.
[00:33:47] I don't know what it, I don't know what it were taught like,
[00:33:49] no, there isn't because there isn't a,
[00:33:51] there isn't like just a guy that's making action movies
[00:33:55] that isn't a particularly good actor and can't speak the English
[00:34:00] so well.
[00:34:02] Arnold then?
[00:34:04] I guess to the 80s.
[00:34:06] Yeah, but not anymore.
[00:34:08] Yeah, you know what?
[00:34:10] I think you think you're right.
[00:34:12] I guess we've gotten to a point where, you know, they kind of
[00:34:15] demand people can act before they put them in a mood.
[00:34:17] Unless they're in C action films maybe.
[00:34:19] When before they just had to, they just had to look good
[00:34:21] and spread their and do the splits and spread their legs.
[00:34:24] So we've lost track of what were we even talking about?
[00:34:26] The beekeeper.
[00:34:28] Yeah, the beekeeper.
[00:34:30] So yeah, basically the beekeeper for some reason,
[00:34:31] Jason Statham is like living with Felicia Rashad while he's not
[00:34:35] living with her.
[00:34:37] It's not like he lives in her garage.
[00:34:39] He lives in her garage and I have no idea how on earth he would
[00:34:42] come to be there.
[00:34:44] See, he did that.
[00:34:46] But for some reason he's there and the other thing is,
[00:34:50] is like at some point he's like she's the only one that
[00:34:53] ever looked out for me.
[00:34:55] Like how?
[00:34:57] How is this random person that you're renting a barn from?
[00:34:58] The only person that's ever, well I guess just weird.
[00:35:02] But anyways, she gets like scammed and ends up like cyber scammed,
[00:35:09] fished or whatever it is.
[00:35:12] Is that what they call it? Fishing?
[00:35:14] Yeah, the fishing was the link.
[00:35:16] The bad guys basically take all her money.
[00:35:18] Well they not only take her money but they take two million
[00:35:21] dollars out of charity that you did.
[00:35:23] From what I can tell from the trailer she kills herself.
[00:35:25] Yeah, well the trailer, the trailer don't lie.
[00:35:26] The trailer don't lie.
[00:35:28] And Statham Valgerange.
[00:35:31] That's the movie.
[00:35:33] Okay, I don't even have to say it.
[00:35:35] Mary just came along.
[00:35:37] Statham decides he's gonna like, well he's Adam Clay.
[00:35:42] What stupid name.
[00:35:44] So Adam Clay.
[00:35:47] Like why?
[00:35:49] I love that as a point you're making.
[00:35:51] His name is so stupid.
[00:35:53] His stupidest name on like,
[00:35:55] Actually on like, say Christmas.
[00:35:58] Actually I'd like to like go, hear the names of the characters.
[00:36:01] Okay, Adam Clay, stupid.
[00:36:04] Wallace West Wilde.
[00:36:07] That's who Jeremy Huyards plays.
[00:36:09] That's stupid.
[00:36:11] Agent Matt Wiley.
[00:36:14] This is awesome.
[00:36:16] Stupid.
[00:36:18] The bad guy in it played by Josh Hutcherson
[00:36:22] who actually does a pretty good job.
[00:36:23] He's gonna snot those little punk of a,
[00:36:26] Derek Danforth.
[00:36:29] Were they like Braves?
[00:36:31] They were throwing the-
[00:36:33] That's a porn star right there.
[00:36:35] The only one that was okay,
[00:36:37] No it wasn't either.
[00:36:39] I was gonna say Parker.
[00:36:41] But no, it was Agent Verona Parker.
[00:36:43] No, these are terrible names.
[00:36:46] I don't even remember what-
[00:36:48] What was Felicia Rashad's name?
[00:36:50] I don't even remember what her name was.
[00:36:51] I don't remember what her name was.
[00:36:53] I don't remember what her name was.
[00:36:55] It was Agent Parker.
[00:36:57] Anyways, what was I talking about?
[00:36:59] Oh yeah, so Adam Clay for some reason has a deep connection
[00:37:02] to his land lady and she kills herself
[00:37:06] and so he decides he's gonna like take revenge
[00:37:09] and he starts going up the chain
[00:37:11] and just starts murdering people
[00:37:13] like you wouldn't believe it.
[00:37:15] And just set and crap on fire
[00:37:17] and blowing stuff up
[00:37:18] and everything.
[00:37:20] He's just going Jason Statham on their asses.
[00:37:22] So it's kind of a movie
[00:37:28] that would have had a certain payoff
[00:37:30] because they were talking about
[00:37:32] three quarters away through
[00:37:34] about him killing the queen bee
[00:37:36] and I'm like yes, if he kills the queen bee
[00:37:39] I am on board.
[00:37:41] This is Armando
[00:37:43] and what happens at the end?
[00:37:45] He does it.
[00:37:46] He kills the queen.
[00:37:48] I don't care if I'm spoiling things.
[00:37:50] He kills the queen bee's offspring.
[00:37:52] He doesn't kill the queen bee.
[00:37:54] That almost made me mad enough
[00:37:57] to give this a rage.
[00:38:00] But it was so damn entertaining
[00:38:02] for a while there
[00:38:04] because Parker and Wiley were hilarious
[00:38:07] even though I don't even think
[00:38:09] they needed to be in the movie.
[00:38:11] This is a movie about Jason Statham
[00:38:14] or I should say Adam Clay
[00:38:16] and the ass taking out all the bad guys.
[00:38:20] We did not need this side story
[00:38:23] with Verona Parker and Matt Wiley
[00:38:26] solving this crime where
[00:38:28] all they kind of do is get
[00:38:30] but I'm glad they did
[00:38:32] because you know,
[00:38:34] Bobby Naderi as Matt Wiley
[00:38:36] he was fricking funny in this
[00:38:38] like I really liked his character
[00:38:40] even though I don't think
[00:38:42] it needed to be there.
[00:38:44] Jeremy Irons was fine too.
[00:38:46] Except there's nobody that wakes up.
[00:38:48] Well, the look she has the same
[00:38:50] look every shot.
[00:38:52] Even her picture.
[00:38:54] She had that smirky look on her face.
[00:38:56] It's one of those movies where
[00:38:58] she dies so soon.
[00:39:00] It's like, oh right.
[00:39:02] She's gone.
[00:39:04] We don't have to deal with her anymore
[00:39:06] until we have to look at a picture
[00:39:08] of her like midway through and is like,
[00:39:10] Oh no.
[00:39:12] Anyways, I've said too much.
[00:39:14] So at the end of the day,
[00:39:16] I'm going to go back to the
[00:39:19] different scenes of this movie
[00:39:21] and I'm going to go back to the
[00:39:23] old people that were
[00:39:25] building because that would have
[00:39:27] saved us because it would have
[00:39:29] been like, even though they talk
[00:39:31] about it, it's like there's no
[00:39:33] way they're going to do that.
[00:39:35] And guess what?
[00:39:37] They don't.
[00:39:39] And that's why I'm a little ticked
[00:39:41] off but I was still entertained
[00:39:43] enough to give it a man.
[00:39:44] It's like soda.
[00:39:46] It is not only refreshing
[00:39:48] but it's good for your digestive
[00:39:50] system.
[00:39:52] Your gut will thank you for it.
[00:39:54] It's got like a billion probiotic
[00:39:56] something or other.
[00:39:58] It's my gut.
[00:40:00] So good right now in every can.
[00:40:02] Every can.
[00:40:04] I tell you, and you know what
[00:40:06] else it's got?
[00:40:08] No sugar.
[00:40:10] It's got no sugar and it's got
[00:40:12] amazingly enough.
[00:40:14] It's got a sense of your
[00:40:16] recommended vitamin C for the day.
[00:40:18] What? Who knew that vitamin C?
[00:40:20] In a soda.
[00:40:22] My God, Cove.
[00:40:24] You guys are the best.
[00:40:26] I love Cove.
[00:40:28] So beekeeping, hey?
[00:40:31] Yes.
[00:40:33] This may have the most
[00:40:36] ridiculous action
[00:40:38] in a movie ever made.
[00:40:40] All right.
[00:40:42] It had the same Jason Statham
[00:40:44] that you get from every other one.
[00:40:46] Except this one,
[00:40:48] the dialogue, the bad guys
[00:40:50] and the kills are even more
[00:40:52] insane and unbelievable.
[00:40:54] But at the same time,
[00:40:56] making it so over the top and
[00:40:58] hilarious for pretty much the
[00:41:00] entire movie.
[00:41:02] And that's right.
[00:41:04] And you add in Bobby Nadira as
[00:41:06] Agent Matt.
[00:41:08] And every single line of dialogue
[00:41:10] he says is so fucking golden.
[00:41:12] And if I wasn't laughing with
[00:41:14] his laughing at him,
[00:41:16] but in a good, good way.
[00:41:18] I had some mixed feelings
[00:41:21] about this because I had a good
[00:41:23] time watching this.
[00:41:25] But at the same time, this film
[00:41:27] is completely awful as far as
[00:41:29] action films go.
[00:41:31] So was it bad good
[00:41:33] or was it just plain bad?
[00:41:35] So you,
[00:41:37] as you go through this movie,
[00:41:39] there were so many times you're
[00:41:41] laughing, but laughing at the
[00:41:42] times, which as opposed to,
[00:41:45] like it wasn't intentionally made
[00:41:46] bad to be funny,
[00:41:48] but it was made to be funny.
[00:41:51] And it was also bad.
[00:41:52] But I was still laughing like I
[00:41:54] had a good time watching this
[00:41:55] movie. Yeah.
[00:41:56] The funny was funny and it was
[00:41:58] supposed to be funny.
[00:42:00] We weren't laughing at the movie
[00:42:01] at that point.
[00:42:03] We were rolling our eyes
[00:42:05] and then we were laughing.
[00:42:07] The dialogue is so bad.
[00:42:09] Even all his one liners are
[00:42:10] terrible.
[00:42:11] Yes, but like he says his one
[00:42:14] liners. The thing is when Jason
[00:42:15] Statham delivers them,
[00:42:17] it's terrible, but they're
[00:42:19] fine because it's Jason Statham
[00:42:21] and he's a super.
[00:42:23] He's lovable. You want to hug
[00:42:24] him sometimes.
[00:42:26] He is like the, you know,
[00:42:28] there's two.
[00:42:30] There's there's there's
[00:42:32] there's rock as the ultimate
[00:42:33] action star
[00:42:35] and then Jason Statham is
[00:42:36] the only other action star,
[00:42:38] but the rock also happens to
[00:42:39] be the only living movie star
[00:42:42] today. Right.
[00:42:43] And then except in real life,
[00:42:45] he's the best act in real life.
[00:42:47] The only true movie action
[00:42:49] star is Tom Cruise.
[00:42:50] I'm sorry.
[00:42:52] I don't know what Tom Cruise
[00:42:53] is terrible and Tom Cruise
[00:42:55] is the best action star
[00:42:57] of all time.
[00:42:58] On top of that, he does his
[00:42:59] own.
[00:43:00] Who cares?
[00:43:01] So the rock doesn't even go
[00:43:02] near his stunts because he's
[00:43:03] a pussy.
[00:43:04] I pick my own nose.
[00:43:05] Jason Statham.
[00:43:06] Yeah. Well, you're also a
[00:43:07] pussy. So there you go.
[00:43:09] I have a couple of things to
[00:43:11] unpack.
[00:43:13] One of which is
[00:43:15] how calm and cool Statham
[00:43:17] was in this.
[00:43:18] Like he was just, I've never
[00:43:19] seen him so laid back and cool.
[00:43:22] He was cool in this.
[00:43:23] Yeah, he was.
[00:43:24] He wasn't like it was like
[00:43:26] you just knew as he walked
[00:43:28] in the screen like he was
[00:43:29] never going to get shot,
[00:43:30] never get killed.
[00:43:31] Like you didn't have that fear
[00:43:32] because, you know, he could
[00:43:33] kill everybody.
[00:43:34] He was like he was like the
[00:43:35] John Wick of beekeeping.
[00:43:37] He was just John Wicking
[00:43:39] slash Statham.
[00:43:40] There's not many people that
[00:43:41] could have played this role the
[00:43:42] way he did it.
[00:43:43] Yeah, he was so.
[00:43:44] He made it believable.
[00:43:45] He was so cool and laid back
[00:43:46] the entire movie.
[00:43:47] Like even from the trailer
[00:43:48] Murray, you remember the
[00:43:49] trailer where he's like got
[00:43:50] his cans of
[00:43:52] fire juice and he's like
[00:43:54] he's like one, two, three.
[00:43:56] He does the count.
[00:43:57] Like that whole scene is so good.
[00:43:59] Yeah. It's just so good.
[00:44:00] And he like he has so much
[00:44:02] confidence.
[00:44:03] My favorite line I think
[00:44:04] from the trailer was the bad
[00:44:05] guy or one of the bad guys
[00:44:07] says,
[00:44:08] yeah, we need to kill him.
[00:44:10] If he works his way up the
[00:44:12] the chain or something like that.
[00:44:14] Like, yeah, and he does.
[00:44:16] He literally kills everybody.
[00:44:17] Yeah, including the chain.
[00:44:19] And you know, there's nobody
[00:44:20] starts from the bottom.
[00:44:21] He goes right to there's nobody
[00:44:23] to be top.
[00:44:24] Yeah.
[00:44:25] Well, for whatever reason,
[00:44:27] he but he kills everybody.
[00:44:29] He kills cops.
[00:44:30] He kills bad guys.
[00:44:32] He kills the FBI.
[00:44:33] He kills the CIA.
[00:44:35] He kills the CIA.
[00:44:36] He kills.
[00:44:38] He didn't kill me.
[00:44:39] I don't think he can.
[00:44:40] No, he was killing.
[00:44:41] He wasn't killing the cops.
[00:44:42] No, he was still killing him.
[00:44:44] Like, but that was part of the
[00:44:45] thing, right?
[00:44:46] Is that it?
[00:44:47] Yeah, I know.
[00:44:48] He has to protect the hive.
[00:44:50] And the hive was was broken.
[00:44:52] So he had to fix it.
[00:44:53] But he didn't.
[00:44:55] Yeah.
[00:44:56] Well, he sort of did.
[00:44:58] She admitted guilt and a bunch
[00:45:00] of stuff.
[00:45:01] Oh boohoo.
[00:45:02] I'm sorry.
[00:45:03] You've got evil offspring.
[00:45:04] You did too.
[00:45:05] Yeah.
[00:45:06] Well, you know what?
[00:45:07] This was fun.
[00:45:08] I suggest people go see it in
[00:45:09] the cinemas because it's well
[00:45:10] worth it.
[00:45:11] Yeah.
[00:45:12] No, I it's I expected to hate
[00:45:14] it.
[00:45:15] I thought I was absolutely.
[00:45:16] But you know, I like the
[00:45:17] director.
[00:45:18] I got it.
[00:45:19] You know, it was it was good.
[00:45:22] Good good put together movie.
[00:45:24] My poopy dogs having a dream
[00:45:26] right now.
[00:45:28] He's making little noises.
[00:45:30] It's adorable.
[00:45:31] Okay.
[00:45:32] Anyways, what were we talking
[00:45:33] about?
[00:45:34] You lost.
[00:45:38] You lost me.
[00:45:39] Well, I think that was a pretty
[00:45:40] good week.
[00:45:41] It was a double matter.
[00:45:42] Yeah.
[00:45:43] It was.
[00:45:44] You know what?
[00:45:45] What you guys called it.
[00:45:46] I don't know.
[00:45:47] Yeah.
[00:45:48] It was a man.
[00:45:49] It was literally I was worried
[00:45:50] after we saw the last movie,
[00:45:51] Murray.
[00:45:53] Right.
[00:45:54] I turned to Bryce and I said
[00:45:55] it's because it's going to be
[00:45:56] because of you that this is
[00:45:57] not a completely mad episode.
[00:45:59] Anyway, he went, I don't know.
[00:46:02] I'm trying to play Koi with
[00:46:03] me.
[00:46:04] I honestly didn't know what I
[00:46:05] rated any of these until I
[00:46:06] started talking about them and
[00:46:07] I'm like, oh yeah, no, that was
[00:46:09] man.
[00:46:11] That one.
[00:46:12] That was man.
[00:46:14] And be keeper.
[00:46:15] That was man.
[00:46:16] Yeah, but you know here's the
[00:46:17] thing where they were all and
[00:46:19] they they all had stuff that
[00:46:21] was quite enjoyable like every
[00:46:23] single movie had some
[00:46:26] really really good stuff
[00:46:28] and every single movie had some
[00:46:31] your role in your eyes to like
[00:46:32] every single one of them.
[00:46:33] Like there was a similar
[00:46:34] experience with three completely
[00:46:35] different movies.
[00:46:36] Yeah.
[00:46:37] So we had a comedy
[00:46:39] musical
[00:46:41] or a mu-com.
[00:46:43] We had
[00:46:45] an action film,
[00:46:46] right?
[00:46:47] Which both those two like for
[00:46:49] you action is usually usually a
[00:46:51] rage and musicals are usually
[00:46:53] a rage for me.
[00:46:54] And then we had
[00:46:58] I don't know what that is
[00:46:59] a biblical conversion film,
[00:47:01] which we've never given him
[00:47:03] anything but a rage to so.
[00:47:07] It's pretty man.
[00:47:10] Are we done?
[00:47:11] Yeah.
[00:47:12] Let's go home.
[00:47:14] Oh, can't go home yet.
[00:47:16] Oh yeah.
[00:47:17] This is the music we've been
[00:47:18] missing.
[00:47:19] All right, making this quick
[00:47:20] because I want to go home.
[00:47:22] It's got to change his diaper.
[00:47:24] It wasn't here last week.
[00:47:25] This is what I was going to
[00:47:26] talk about.
[00:47:27] Oh, I bet.
[00:47:28] Is it something to do with
[00:47:29] the war?
[00:47:30] You know what?
[00:47:31] I would love to bring that back,
[00:47:32] but you guys hate them so much.
[00:47:33] I'm not going to talk about it.
[00:47:34] We talked about it last week.
[00:47:35] It's a little bit.
[00:47:37] I actually watched the
[00:47:38] Creator's Choice Awards and the
[00:47:39] Emmys.
[00:47:41] What's an Emmy?
[00:47:42] We'll talk about
[00:47:43] it's TV.
[00:47:45] Oh, TV.
[00:47:46] I got no time for
[00:47:49] I did find it interesting
[00:47:50] that Anthony Anderson,
[00:47:51] I don't find funny at all,
[00:47:53] brought back all the classic
[00:47:54] sets and unions of all the
[00:47:55] old TV shows.
[00:47:56] From like the 70s all the way up.
[00:47:59] Anyway,
[00:48:00] I don't even know what we're talking
[00:48:01] about.
[00:48:02] Yeah,
[00:48:03] you fellows who like to go to
[00:48:04] movies.
[00:48:05] Yes, that's us.
[00:48:06] And you fellows who like to rage.
[00:48:07] Yes, we do.
[00:48:09] I got a whole list for you.
[00:48:10] What?
[00:48:11] Coming out in 2024.
[00:48:12] What?
[00:48:13] You guys are going to love
[00:48:14] these.
[00:48:15] Oh, baby.
[00:48:17] I know most of them.
[00:48:19] Is Avatar 4 coming out?
[00:48:20] No, I didn't.
[00:48:21] No Avatar.
[00:48:22] No Avatar.
[00:48:23] No Avatar.
[00:48:24] No Avatar this year.
[00:48:25] Let's start with Furiosa.
[00:48:27] Mad Max Saga.
[00:48:29] Man, Sanatali Joy though.
[00:48:30] It's Anatali Joy.
[00:48:31] And we got Kingdom of the Planet
[00:48:33] of the Apes.
[00:48:34] I am looking forward to it.
[00:48:36] I think that this this
[00:48:39] reboot of this franchise is
[00:48:41] so much a million times better
[00:48:44] than the original.
[00:48:45] Not one of the reboot has
[00:48:46] run in a rage rage rage.
[00:48:48] Rage rage rage.
[00:48:49] And Mondo ever since.
[00:48:50] Yeah, but sorry.
[00:48:52] National Treasure 3.
[00:48:54] Oh, fuck me now.
[00:48:55] No.
[00:48:56] Yes.
[00:48:57] That's okay.
[00:48:58] That's not even a thing.
[00:48:59] There's no way they made National
[00:49:01] Treasure.
[00:49:02] There's a new Garfield movie.
[00:49:04] Oh, for crying out loud.
[00:49:05] Gladiator 2.
[00:49:07] Wait a minute.
[00:49:08] Wait a minute.
[00:49:09] Andrew Garfield or Garfield?
[00:49:10] Garfield the cat.
[00:49:12] Oh my god.
[00:49:13] Gladiator 2.
[00:49:14] Gladiator 2.
[00:49:15] I watched the trailer
[00:49:16] Gladiator 2 and that is just
[00:49:18] that is wrong.
[00:49:19] It looks like the worst thing
[00:49:20] that's ever been made.
[00:49:21] It's all kinds of wrong.
[00:49:22] Kung Fu Panda 4.
[00:49:23] Oh, yeah.
[00:49:24] They can.
[00:49:25] Madame Web which
[00:49:28] I don't even know what the hell
[00:49:29] it's about but it looks terrible.
[00:49:31] The trailer makes it look like
[00:49:34] it's part of the spider universe
[00:49:35] because Fox is putting it up.
[00:49:36] Yeah, but she's not a spider person.
[00:49:37] She's some kind of psychic or something.
[00:49:39] Yeah, she's spider adjacent.
[00:49:41] But it's called Madame Web.
[00:49:43] Whatever.
[00:49:44] Then you're going to love this.
[00:49:45] Yep.
[00:49:46] Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
[00:49:48] Oh, fuck me.
[00:49:50] Venom 3.
[00:49:51] Yeah.
[00:49:53] I ate Tom Hardy.
[00:49:55] Well, hopefully it's better than the last one.
[00:49:57] Beetlejuice 2.
[00:49:59] Oh please really?
[00:50:00] I'm sorry what?
[00:50:01] Angel juice?
[00:50:02] Beetlejuice 2.
[00:50:03] Beetlejuice.
[00:50:04] Cruella 2.
[00:50:06] Oh for crying out loud.
[00:50:07] Mortal Kombat 2.
[00:50:10] Oh my god.
[00:50:11] No.
[00:50:12] Rush Hour 4.
[00:50:14] Hey we were talking about
[00:50:15] Chris Tucker earlier this year.
[00:50:16] Last year.
[00:50:17] I'm not done.
[00:50:18] Bad Boys 4.
[00:50:19] Oh man.
[00:50:21] I can't wait to make Bryce see that.
[00:50:23] Twisters.
[00:50:24] Twisters which is a sequel to Twister.
[00:50:27] How's Bill?
[00:50:28] Bill's not alive.
[00:50:29] No, he's dead.
[00:50:30] He did.
[00:50:31] Craven the Hunter.
[00:50:33] I don't know what that is.
[00:50:34] It's the superhero movie.
[00:50:35] Apparently he's the superhero killer of the superheroes.
[00:50:38] Oh that's good.
[00:50:39] Yeah, I want them all to die.
[00:50:40] Ghostbusters.
[00:50:41] Frozen and...
[00:50:42] Yeah, that trailer looks so awful.
[00:50:45] A Roadhouse.
[00:50:46] They did remake that one.
[00:50:47] What?
[00:50:49] What they're remaking Roadhouse?
[00:50:51] Yes.
[00:50:52] Actress Swayze is dead too.
[00:50:53] They just made it into the first one.
[00:50:55] They made a TV series about it too,
[00:50:56] but this is an actual movie.
[00:50:58] Final Destination Bloodline.
[00:51:00] Yes!
[00:51:02] Sign me up.
[00:51:03] I've already got my ticket.
[00:51:05] This is the worst franchise ever made.
[00:51:07] Witty the Blood in Onnie 2.
[00:51:09] Yes!
[00:51:11] They're gonna have money this time.
[00:51:13] And Saw 11.
[00:51:16] Oh god.
[00:51:17] That is just a small mattering.
[00:51:20] So of all those movies,
[00:51:22] maybe two I even remotely want to see.
[00:51:25] I didn't list the ones I want to see.
[00:51:26] Or the ones that you know I want to see.
[00:51:28] These are the ones that look...
[00:51:29] They're all sequels.
[00:51:31] Like whatever.
[00:51:32] See, yeah.
[00:51:33] It's sequels or remakes.
[00:51:34] Enjoy that.
[00:51:35] You're supposed to...
[00:51:36] We're called Film Rage.
[00:51:38] That's right.
[00:51:39] You guys like your region.
[00:51:40] So that's what you got.
[00:51:43] Temperature rising.
[00:51:45] Vision blurring.
[00:51:47] Rage taking over.
[00:52:07] Sweet sweet rage.
[00:52:10] I love you so.
[00:52:13] My rage this week
[00:52:17] is Landmark Cinemas.
[00:52:19] Because...
[00:52:22] We wanted to sit in the top
[00:52:25] tier at the cinema.
[00:52:27] And Murray, I was down...
[00:52:29] Like I was down to my underwear
[00:52:32] before we finally said...
[00:52:34] Well we sat in the top and the first one.
[00:52:36] But the second one is the same thing.
[00:52:38] We get in there
[00:52:39] and I'm already just wearing my underwear.
[00:52:40] And I'm like Bryce,
[00:52:41] there's only the two of us.
[00:52:42] Do you mind if I take my underpants off too?
[00:52:44] And he's like,
[00:52:45] can we just move down?
[00:52:46] And I'm like,
[00:52:47] can we just move down a couple of...
[00:52:50] layers?
[00:52:51] And it did get a little cooler.
[00:52:53] But by the end of the movie...
[00:52:55] When it was minus 30 outside,
[00:52:57] they actually had the heat on.
[00:52:59] That's right.
[00:53:00] I had my underpants
[00:53:01] and that's it.
[00:53:02] It was ridiculous so Murray.
[00:53:04] It wasn't just heat.
[00:53:05] It was...
[00:53:06] Yeah, it was like
[00:53:07] terrible heat.
[00:53:08] Like,
[00:53:09] I'm telling you,
[00:53:10] I was down to my underwear
[00:53:12] and I took my socks off too.
[00:53:14] And it was no better in the next movie.
[00:53:16] We didn't even go up.
[00:53:18] We started going up.
[00:53:20] And then Jim's like,
[00:53:22] shouldn't we just sit down here?
[00:53:23] And I was like,
[00:53:24] you know what?
[00:53:25] Let me go up a few rows here
[00:53:26] and I'll let you know how the weather is.
[00:53:28] And I got up like three rows.
[00:53:30] I'm like,
[00:53:31] it's just getting hotter and hotter
[00:53:32] as we go up here.
[00:53:33] Yeah, we're sitting back down here.
[00:53:34] So...
[00:53:35] Yep.
[00:53:36] But you know what?
[00:53:37] It's not so bad.
[00:53:38] I kind of felt like I was at home
[00:53:39] except the screen was so big
[00:53:40] because that's how I usually watch movies
[00:53:41] at home is in my underwear.
[00:53:43] Hmm.
[00:53:45] Yeah, it was good.
[00:53:46] Alright.
[00:53:47] It's a rage. Landmark, fix your shit.
[00:53:48] Uh,
[00:54:13] my rage is
[00:54:14] maybe Jim adjacent.
[00:54:16] Um,
[00:54:17] it's also with Landmark.
[00:54:21] I don't understand
[00:54:23] why you have to put
[00:54:25] mean girls in ultra aviax.
[00:54:27] Yeah, what's up with that?
[00:54:28] Ultra aviax should be for like
[00:54:30] the beekeeper.
[00:54:31] The beekeeper.
[00:54:32] Man, no.
[00:54:33] It shouldn't be for the beekeeper either.
[00:54:34] Should be for like
[00:54:35] science fiction,
[00:54:36] extravagance as it should be for act.
[00:54:38] Like the beekeeper.
[00:54:39] It should be for action movies, I suppose.
[00:54:41] Over that one?
[00:54:42] Over...
[00:54:43] Yeah, if you're going to have one in aviax,
[00:54:44] probably should be the beekeeper.
[00:54:45] It should have been the beekeeper.
[00:54:46] But there is absolutely no reason
[00:54:48] to have some of these movies
[00:54:50] that you put in aviax
[00:54:51] just because they're going to be
[00:54:52] the biggest ones of the weekend.
[00:54:53] And it's the only option.
[00:54:55] I couldn't go see it in anything
[00:54:57] but aviax
[00:54:58] if I went to this particular cinema.
[00:55:00] Yeah.
[00:55:01] And that's where a beekeeper was.
[00:55:02] That's just ridiculous.
[00:55:03] So
[00:55:04] I'm just annoyed by the fact that
[00:55:06] every now and then
[00:55:07] I have to pay more for movies
[00:55:09] that I don't even want to see
[00:55:11] most of the time.
[00:55:12] Aw, frickin' man.
[00:55:14] Yeah.
[00:55:15] Like I had to
[00:55:16] watch Aquaman in iMacs
[00:55:18] because it wasn't...
[00:55:19] I couldn't watch it in...
[00:55:20] I could either watch it in iMacs
[00:55:22] for like $25 in Ontario.
[00:55:24] Or aviax.
[00:55:25] Or I could know.
[00:55:26] Or I could watch it in their...
[00:55:27] Rubble seats.
[00:55:28] No, they're VIP cinema.
[00:55:30] Oh, right.
[00:55:31] Because they have one connected
[00:55:32] to the scene cinema.
[00:55:33] This is the rage you did before.
[00:55:34] For like $26.
[00:55:35] Well, it's all connected.
[00:55:36] Stop putting stuff in like
[00:55:38] where it's movies I don't even want to...
[00:55:40] I'm doing you a favor by watching
[00:55:42] your stinking movie
[00:55:43] and you got to gouge me
[00:55:44] for another three or four bucks?
[00:55:45] Five bucks.
[00:55:46] Five bucks or ten bucks
[00:55:48] or forty-seven frickin' dollars
[00:55:50] or whatever.
[00:55:51] I don't know what's going on anymore.
[00:55:52] It's a poopy.
[00:55:53] My mask off.
[00:55:54] But at any rate
[00:55:55] you're charging me more
[00:55:56] and I don't even want to go
[00:55:57] to your stupid movie
[00:55:58] and I'm going to you
[00:55:59] and I'm talking about your dumb movie
[00:56:00] so just give me a break.
[00:56:02] Yeah, good coin.
[00:56:03] I made a money.
[00:56:04] You on board with that, Murray?
[00:56:05] Sure, whatever.
[00:56:06] Yeah, he's on side.
[00:56:11] Rage is exciting.
[00:56:14] Plus, slime.
[00:56:18] Hanger of fading.
[00:56:20] Oh, baby.
[00:56:23] So last week, Murray,
[00:56:24] you missed out on some exciting news.
[00:56:26] Yeah, I see that.
[00:56:27] Emma Stone is now on the list for some reason.
[00:56:29] Yeah, she was voted on as
[00:56:32] mesmerizing.
[00:56:35] Off of...
[00:56:36] It wasn't just because of poor things
[00:56:38] because we went back into her
[00:56:40] and it wasn't hard for Bryce to say yeah.
[00:56:42] But...
[00:56:43] I guess she is.
[00:56:44] But the biggest problem
[00:56:45] that Emma Stone has right now
[00:56:47] other than she's currently
[00:56:49] also undoubted, by the way,
[00:56:51] is that
[00:56:54] the movie that we watched last week
[00:56:56] which actually kind of fits nicely
[00:56:58] because you want to know about
[00:57:00] what Yelgoos Lathamoss does.
[00:57:04] He made the movie called The Favorite.
[00:57:06] He did.
[00:57:07] Which happened to have Olivia Coleman
[00:57:09] and if you remember, Murray,
[00:57:10] because we don't really watch
[00:57:12] award shows, this is where she won
[00:57:14] an award for it.
[00:57:16] So the mesmerizing
[00:57:18] Emma Stone, and if you go to our website
[00:57:20] at filmrageycy.com
[00:57:22] and go to our page called The Lists,
[00:57:24] we have mesmerizing, repulsive,
[00:57:26] doubted, undoubted,
[00:57:28] and a section for people
[00:57:30] that were once mesmerizing
[00:57:32] that are no longer mesmerizing.
[00:57:34] So,
[00:57:35] Emma Stone was up against
[00:57:37] Olivia Coleman.
[00:57:38] Correct.
[00:57:39] And
[00:57:40] I'm just like, I'm sorry.
[00:57:42] We knew this was coming.
[00:57:44] I mean, Emma Stone was very good
[00:57:46] in this movie.
[00:57:47] Yeah.
[00:57:48] Olivia Coleman, it's just
[00:57:50] blew her out of the water.
[00:57:51] But you know who also,
[00:57:52] I think, blew her out of the water?
[00:57:54] What's that?
[00:57:55] It was Rachel Weiss.
[00:57:56] Yeah, Rachel Weiss was very good.
[00:57:57] She was brilliant in this.
[00:57:59] She was brilliant.
[00:58:00] I still think that...
[00:58:01] She wasn't Olivia, but yeah.
[00:58:02] No.
[00:58:03] She beat out Emma Stone in this movie.
[00:58:05] But I tell you, sometimes you got to act
[00:58:07] with these titans in order
[00:58:09] to get better.
[00:58:10] And I think Emma Stone can get there.
[00:58:12] I really do.
[00:58:13] I think that she's...
[00:58:15] She proved with this last role.
[00:58:17] I mean, she is absolutely brilliant
[00:58:19] as Bella Baxter.
[00:58:20] Yeah.
[00:58:21] Well, I think she's pretty brilliant
[00:58:22] in everything she does.
[00:58:23] She did such an outstanding job
[00:58:25] in this too.
[00:58:26] Oh, she was great.
[00:58:27] If she didn't run into Rachel Weiss
[00:58:28] and Olivia Coleman in this,
[00:58:30] she would have been mesmerizing.
[00:58:31] If they wouldn't have cast somebody else's that.
[00:58:34] But Olivia Coleman, holy fuck nuggets.
[00:58:37] This was unbelievable.
[00:58:39] Does she...
[00:58:40] Murray, like...
[00:58:41] Because I know you love Olivia Coleman too.
[00:58:43] I know.
[00:58:44] If you see this movie,
[00:58:46] and this is a movie
[00:58:47] that has so much subdued,
[00:58:50] subversive humor in it.
[00:58:52] I was laughing again.
[00:58:54] I forgot how funny this movie is.
[00:58:56] The guy is brilliant.
[00:58:58] He just makes unbelievably good movies.
[00:59:01] The fact that I can watch a period piece
[00:59:03] about Elizabethan era
[00:59:05] and think it's Mondo is like...
[00:59:07] It's so good.
[00:59:08] Holy fuck nuggets.
[00:59:10] I don't think we have anything else.
[00:59:12] Do we have anybody on our list, Murray?
[00:59:14] Well, now that Amistone's off the list,
[00:59:16] so that takes some things up.
[00:59:17] Yeah, it wasn't part of that.
[00:59:18] Alright, well...
[00:59:19] Oh, well, if you want another one.
[00:59:21] We always do.
[00:59:22] Let's just throw one out here for ya.
[00:59:24] Hmm.
[00:59:26] Uh, Jimon Honsu.
[00:59:28] Okay.
[00:59:29] And Joaquin Phoenix.
[00:59:31] What?
[00:59:32] Yeah, you guessed it.
[00:59:33] Gladiator.
[00:59:34] I don't want to know.
[00:59:35] Yes.
[00:59:36] Sorry, it's gonna happen.
[00:59:38] Didn't we already do this?
[00:59:40] Nope.
[00:59:41] I remember watching Gladiator recently.
[00:59:43] That's your own fault.
[00:59:44] Okay.
[00:59:45] Russell Crowe is untouchable.
[00:59:47] I don't think they were in Gladiator.
[00:59:49] Well, that's weak.
[00:59:50] They were.
[00:59:51] Of course they were.
[00:59:52] They were in Gladiator.
[00:59:53] Gladiator starred Brian Danahee and Cuba Gooding Jr.
[00:59:57] Top of the head, hardest part of the body.
[01:00:00] It was about underground boxing.
[01:00:02] It was an excellent movie,
[01:00:04] unlike the piece of crap that Russell Crowe was in.
[01:00:08] In the Ridley Scott movie?
[01:00:09] Yeah, yeah.
[01:00:10] The one on top.
[01:00:11] So you're not talking about...
[01:00:13] Top of the head, hardest part of the body.
[01:00:15] You have to.
[01:00:16] I'm talking about...
[01:00:17] But I like...
[01:00:18] The reason why I hate what he means so much.
[01:00:20] Okay, but...
[01:00:21] Here's what I propose.
[01:00:22] I watch the Brian Danahee Gladiator,
[01:00:25] and then I just go off of my memory and tell you which one I'm...
[01:00:28] But so here's the thing,
[01:00:29] because Russell Crowe isn't competing.
[01:00:32] Nope.
[01:00:33] Because he's completely undoubted for...
[01:00:35] That's right.
[01:00:36] He's completely mesmerizing for life.
[01:00:37] Yeah, well good thing,
[01:00:38] because he probably isn't.
[01:00:39] So it's Joaquin Phoenix versus DeMellon Halsh.
[01:00:42] And they are in at the same amount.
[01:00:43] Yeah, they're in at the same amount.
[01:00:44] This is gonna be a great battle.
[01:00:46] I'm actually looking forward to this.
[01:00:47] I would rather do Cuba Gooding Jr.
[01:00:49] Well, two day bad.
[01:00:50] versus Brian Danahee.
[01:00:51] You know what?
[01:00:52] You don't want those guys on our list.
[01:00:53] So there.
[01:00:54] Even though neither of them are mesmerizing,
[01:00:55] let's see which one is more mesmerizing
[01:00:57] in that particular movie.
[01:00:59] I am more excited about this one.
[01:01:01] Because when Brian Danahee goes top of the head
[01:01:03] part of the body, that's pretty good.
[01:01:04] But also what's really good...
[01:01:06] Whatever.
[01:01:07] ...is when Cuba Gooding Jr.
[01:01:08] says right to his face,
[01:01:10] I'm not gonna fight for you no more.
[01:01:13] That's powerful cinema right there.
[01:01:16] You know what?
[01:01:17] You're a fucking idiot.
[01:01:22] Okay, so we're gonna see
[01:01:24] the gladiator with Russell Crowe.
[01:01:27] Yes.
[01:01:28] DeMellon Halsh.
[01:01:29] I'm not gonna fight for you no more.
[01:01:31] And with Joaquin Phoenix.
[01:01:33] I am so excited about that.
[01:01:34] How can you not be excited?
[01:01:35] I didn't think anybody could take Joaquin out.
[01:01:37] I don't want to watch gladiator at all.
[01:01:39] And now DeMellon Halsh.
[01:01:40] I hate this movie.
[01:01:41] When you take one of them out,
[01:01:42] I don't really care which one.
[01:01:43] Yeah.
[01:01:44] I hate this movie.
[01:01:45] You know what?
[01:01:46] That's why I want you to watch it.
[01:01:47] That's right.
[01:01:49] Murray is gonna tell you
[01:01:51] we're not called film love Bryce.
[01:01:53] We're called Film Rage.
[01:01:54] Suck it up princess.
[01:01:56] Right.
[01:01:57] I'm gonna watch the other gladiator.
[01:01:58] Well, watch them both.
[01:01:59] You do that too.
[01:02:00] I'm watching back to back.
[01:02:01] Yeah. Good idea.
[01:02:02] Some of us have to go to work.
[01:02:03] I guess you don't.
[01:02:04] I don't actually this week.
[01:02:05] Here we go.
[01:02:06] It's true.
[01:02:07] I just took the week off with out pay.
[01:02:09] Because I'm like, you know what?
[01:02:10] Screw it.
[01:02:11] I don't need the money.
[01:02:13] That's right.
[01:02:14] He's making all the money from his bedding.
[01:02:17] Here's Casey.
[01:02:23] I'm back my little rangelings.
[01:02:25] I know that you all missed me very much.
[01:02:28] But don't fret.
[01:02:29] Your God of rage will always be back.
[01:02:32] Now where were we?
[01:02:36] Oh yes.
[01:02:37] Last week on Rager Dare,
[01:02:38] Bryce missed me so much
[01:02:39] that he choose to Casey last week.
[01:02:42] Yes.
[01:02:43] This week Jim can choose to rage
[01:02:45] or dare or Casey.
[01:02:48] I wonder if he missed me as much as Bryce.
[01:02:50] Now let's catch up with Bryce
[01:02:52] and see if all those A and B
[01:02:54] list actors in the 1999 remake
[01:02:56] of The Haunting
[01:02:58] are enough to save a remake we never needed.
[01:03:01] Or maybe Bryce will remember
[01:03:03] he actually did love Catherine Zeta Jones movies.
[01:03:06] Mwahahahaha.
[01:03:08] Hmm.
[01:03:12] Yeah.
[01:03:13] Catherine Zeta Jones.
[01:03:14] Yeah, remember this?
[01:03:15] I remember us talking about this last week
[01:03:17] and you're like, Oh, I remember liking this movie.
[01:03:19] No, no, I never said that.
[01:03:21] I'm pretty positive you did.
[01:03:22] Are you high?
[01:03:24] A little bit.
[01:03:25] I had never said anything of the sort.
[01:03:28] I don't know why you keep on putting words in my mouth.
[01:03:33] Stay out of my mouth.
[01:03:35] Mwahahahaha.
[01:03:39] Well, tell us which the Haunting.
[01:03:43] Sorry, the 1999 Haunting.
[01:03:45] Okay, so just to be clear,
[01:03:47] it's not the original.
[01:03:48] It's the 1999 Haunting.
[01:03:51] Yes, that's right.
[01:03:53] Hmm.
[01:03:55] Hmm.
[01:03:57] Hmm.
[01:03:58] All right.
[01:03:59] Um,
[01:04:01] I don't know.
[01:04:03] It's a ghost movie.
[01:04:05] Yeah, those are your favorite.
[01:04:06] I don't really like those movies.
[01:04:08] Oh, what?
[01:04:09] It was kind of got it had a weird setup where, you know,
[01:04:12] Liam Neeson plays a doctor
[01:04:14] and he's telling them that he's doing something about sleep
[01:04:17] deprivation when he actually is doing something about like
[01:04:20] being people being scared.
[01:04:22] I'm like, why don't you just like why?
[01:04:24] I don't know.
[01:04:25] I didn't understand that.
[01:04:27] Um, Owen Wilson's in it.
[01:04:31] So, you know, there's going to be some funny parts
[01:04:34] and he was he was adorable.
[01:04:35] He's Owen Wilson.
[01:04:36] So there's one one there.
[01:04:38] This is Catherine's either Jones kind of pre 2000.
[01:04:42] Okay.
[01:04:43] And she didn't get like repulsive until she hit the 2000s.
[01:04:46] Okay.
[01:04:47] She was she was fine in it.
[01:04:49] And here's the thing.
[01:04:51] Bruce Stern has a bit part.
[01:04:53] Bruce Stern can do no wrong.
[01:04:55] Lily Taylor was in it and she was very good.
[01:04:59] The acting was fine.
[01:05:02] It's still ghost story.
[01:05:04] Um, special effects were like they put a lot of money
[01:05:08] into this movie.
[01:05:09] Um, especially effects weren't bad.
[01:05:12] Um, and the sets were quite breathtaking.
[01:05:15] Um, the mansion that they filmed in while I'm guessing
[01:05:18] it wasn't in the mansion.
[01:05:20] I'm guessing it was basically a soundstage because
[01:05:23] there's no house that would look like this.
[01:05:25] No, but, uh, I don't know.
[01:05:29] I didn't hate it.
[01:05:30] And while I did fall asleep before the end of it,
[01:05:34] I went back and watched what I fell asleep only fill
[01:05:38] the, and this time I thought, you know what?
[01:05:40] I fell asleep with about 20 minutes to go.
[01:05:42] And usually when I say that I go back and I go, okay,
[01:05:46] so I'll go 20 minutes before the end.
[01:05:48] I'll go, I haven't seen this and I go 20 minutes back.
[01:05:50] And oh, I haven't seen this and then I go 20 minutes back.
[01:05:53] I'm like, oh crap.
[01:05:54] I didn't see this.
[01:05:55] So I go to it as, and by the time I'm done,
[01:05:57] I'm like, what the hell?
[01:05:58] I only watched 20 minutes of this.
[01:06:00] I've got another hour and 40 minutes.
[01:06:02] But in this case, I actually only had 20 minutes to go
[01:06:07] on that basis alone.
[01:06:09] It couldn't have been that bad.
[01:06:11] Yes, it could.
[01:06:13] So at the end of the day, I'm going to go on the fact that
[01:06:18] I thought that there was only 20 minutes to go when I fell asleep
[01:06:22] and there actually was only 20 minutes to go.
[01:06:25] So I think that gives it a 20 minutes to go.
[01:06:28] Man, because if it was really bad,
[01:06:31] there would have been so much more to go.
[01:06:34] I would have felt like I watched so much more of it when I didn't.
[01:06:38] But in this case, I did watch like an hour and a half of it.
[01:06:42] So it couldn't have been that bad.
[01:06:45] So you're...
[01:06:46] I've already forgotten about it.
[01:06:48] The movie was...
[01:06:50] Well, it was Owen Wilson.
[01:06:52] So it was Matt.
[01:06:53] Oh my God.
[01:07:01] Okay.
[01:07:03] This is what we got, buddies.
[01:07:06] We got Owen Wilson.
[01:07:08] Well, you know what, Murray?
[01:07:09] You don't even have to worry about predicting now
[01:07:11] because if it's got Owen Wilson in it, it's a man.
[01:07:13] There's an opening scene where Virginia Madsen plays
[01:07:18] Lily Taylor's sister, I think,
[01:07:20] and they're trying to get her to move out of the house
[01:07:23] or out of the apartment that they want to sell
[01:07:26] because the mother died or something.
[01:07:28] I don't really remember.
[01:07:29] But...
[01:07:30] Sounds like it was men, I'll tell you to remember.
[01:07:32] At one point, I was like, this is going to be such a rage.
[01:07:36] And I'm thinking, man, this movie is awful.
[01:07:40] You're like, I wish I could fall asleep.
[01:07:41] And then he did.
[01:07:42] And the whole thing is, this is so bad.
[01:07:45] But then when I did fall asleep,
[01:07:48] I thought there was only 20 minutes left
[01:07:50] and it turns out there was only 20 minutes left.
[01:07:52] So it must be not bad.
[01:07:54] Okay.
[01:07:57] You know what?
[01:07:58] Yeah, I think he's done.
[01:07:59] I think he was done before he started by the sound of the repeat.
[01:08:02] I just keep her the same thing.
[01:08:03] Yeah, I was attacking it from a different angle this time.
[01:08:06] No, you weren't.
[01:08:07] No, it was a different angle.
[01:08:08] You were saying the same thing over and over again.
[01:08:10] No, I got to the same point, but from a different angle.
[01:08:13] Right, shut up.
[01:08:15] I've been here for eight hours.
[01:08:20] We've only been doing this for like a little over 50 minutes, I think.
[01:08:25] Okay.
[01:08:26] Oh no, we're actually a little over an hour.
[01:08:28] I'm going to pull from Bryce's bag this week.
[01:08:30] Yeah.
[01:08:31] Because I want to have ratings like Bryce.
[01:08:34] If I only fall asleep and there's 20 minutes left of this movie,
[01:08:39] it's going to be, and it's got Owen Wilson.
[01:08:41] But the thing is that you thought there was only 20 minutes left
[01:08:45] and there was.
[01:08:46] Yeah, we heard the story already.
[01:08:47] That's what makes it math.
[01:08:49] Yeah, I thought it was that Owen Wilson was in it.
[01:08:52] And that too.
[01:08:53] Oh, I love this movie.
[01:08:54] Okay.
[01:08:55] Haven't we reviewed this before though?
[01:08:56] I don't know.
[01:08:57] What is it?
[01:08:58] I don't know.
[01:08:59] I think that's what happened to this movie.
[01:09:01] Yeah, I'm pretty sure I put that in.
[01:09:03] I think I watched that with Murray.
[01:09:05] Yeah, I might have come out with Murray, so that might have been a double.
[01:09:08] Oh, I don't have to watch it again.
[01:09:10] Yeah, by the way, you didn't like it.
[01:09:13] Yeah, I don't like it because you know who's in it.
[01:09:17] Yes.
[01:09:18] Okay.
[01:09:19] Catherine Heigl.
[01:09:20] So instead, is it another Catherine Heigl movie?
[01:09:25] It's did you hear about the Morgan's?
[01:09:28] Oh, that's even better.
[01:09:30] Oh, that's got Jennifer Aniston in it.
[01:09:31] No, it doesn't.
[01:09:32] Oh, that's what I'm going to machine that has a Sarah Jessica Parker.
[01:09:38] Oh, fuck.
[01:09:39] I hate you.
[01:09:40] Sarah Jessica Parker and I their repulsive.
[01:09:43] I think I just bought but I think it's also got the name.
[01:09:48] Oh, and Wilson.
[01:09:49] It's a man.
[01:09:50] No, not a one Wilson.
[01:09:51] I think it's a Oompa Loompa.
[01:09:53] Oh, huge grant.
[01:09:54] I think it's huge grant in it.
[01:09:56] Well, this could be a Mando then.
[01:09:58] I could be wrong, but I think it's huge grant.
[01:10:02] I don't know.
[01:10:03] I'm just excited if it's is it's huge.
[01:10:05] Somebody else other than Sarah Jessica Parker.
[01:10:07] I'll be huge grant in it.
[01:10:09] Well, now I got to know pretty sure he is.
[01:10:16] You know what?
[01:10:17] I'm just excited if Hugh Grant is in it.
[01:10:19] I think it's the most exciting thing in my life.
[01:10:21] Well, maybe he isn't.
[01:10:22] I don't know everything he's in.
[01:10:23] I almost think but he might not be.
[01:10:25] I know it's not the time to say it.
[01:10:27] I remember him being it.
[01:10:28] But yeah, I think Hugh Grant is actually mesmerizing,
[01:10:31] but that's just me.
[01:10:32] Yeah.
[01:10:33] Well, he's he may be mesmerizing in this movie as well.
[01:10:37] But oh man, are you in for a treat?
[01:10:39] Oh, yeah.
