[00:00:16] Greetings and thanks so much for tuning in to Drea’s Point of View. I am your hostess, Dreya, and in the next 10 minutes or less, I will be offering you my perspective on a topic that I feel passionate about. So please make sure that you are following the show at Dreas Point of View on IG, Facebook, and Threads, as well as at Dreya Point on X. So this is the last review of the season.

[00:00:39] My season ends in a few days. And if you are a loyal listener, you know every Friday I like to dedicate it to a review talking about my experience at an event, at a place, or even watching a movie.

[00:01:05] And this review will be going towards a concert that I attended, part of the Jay-Z 30 year reunion tour, I'll call it, in London. Now, I won't get into London so much, what I did there. I've been

[00:01:32] before, one of my favorite places. I actually went, I actually was there for business. I just squeezed this in. My co-workers went as well. And their part is funny. They went, but we all, because everyone's pocket's different. You know, this person wants to spend this amount, this person wants to sit

[00:01:57] here, this person wants to sit there. So we went, but we sat in different places. So there were five of us, two sat in the 100 section, and the three of us sat in the 200 section. But I was separate from the other two. I know it sounds crazy, but that's how it happened. They all wanted to go early or get merch. I wanted to get merch too, but I don't want to go that early because thanks to Threads, I learned that

[00:02:27] Jay-Z wasn't coming on until close to nine. So I wasn't getting there that early. I wanted to get a good meal and then go. I didn't want to eat when I get there like I normally do. So, and before I get into the event itself, concerts consist of the getting there and the getting back as well,

[00:02:53] and the fits and everything. It's not just how the event was, but I'll skip the fit part and just walk into the venue. The venue itself was a nice venue, and it was easy getting into and out of,

[00:03:16] which was nice. It was similar to, if you've been to LA, the U2. It wasn't as intimate as a U2, because it was a stadium, obviously. But entering and exit was pretty simple. It took me about five minutes to get in there and five minutes to get to my seat. So that was nice. The Spurs,

[00:03:43] Tottenham, Tottenham, the Spurs play there as a Tottenham Stadium. Okay. So there's more to it, but that's basically a Tottenham Stadium. And it's a nice neighborhood and there's a curfew there. So if you ever see any type of event, know that you'll be out at a certain time. It's actually a good thing. You can get home earlier. That worked for me. As long as they start early too. I don't want to

[00:04:11] shorten concert. It wasn't a short concert, but still. So apparently he was there for two nights. I went the second night and the ticket said five o'clock. So I'm like, wow, that's kind of early. Good thing I went on threads because people were talking about the doors open at that time, but the show itself starts at seven. Now, if I didn't know that, me being an early bird,

[00:04:38] I would have gotten there by five. Highly upset because I hate waiting. Now there's no opener for Jay-Z in case you intend on seeing him in LA. It's a DJ. At this time, it was just music playing, basically. So I wound up getting there at eight, got something to drink, was in my seat about

[00:05:06] 805-810. Show started a little after 830. Now, I lucked out with the seating because I was sitting at a minute. First, I was sitting in between two people, a couple on one side and two guys on the other. It could have been a couple, but either way, there were some empty seats on the other end

[00:05:31] of where I was sitting. So the people to my right moved. And me and a guy looking at each other, like, why move now? You know somebody's going to come later, which they did. So they moved again, but they still had space. So I had space to my right. And then they decided to move because there

[00:05:52] was a lighting fixture that was kind of blocking our view. And it said nothing on the ticket about an obstructed view. So I kind of was disappointed about that. And I'm hoping I can get some type of recourse for that because, yeah. Anyway, so he came on, like I said, around 835 or so. And

[00:06:24] he was amazing. I have no problem at all with his show. He flowed nice. He looked good. His mic was on point. He brought out two guest stars. I had no idea who they were. I later found out they were popular in London. One guy couldn't hear him at all. He had mic issues. The second guy was perfect.

[00:06:46] So that was fine. That was a nice treat for, you know, the Londoners bring out a local. Everyone was expecting Beyonce. I was not. I'm like, you know, if she comes, fine. If not, I didn't come to see her. So I didn't really look for her. Someone was like, that's like, when I go to Paris, I'm not

[00:07:11] looking for, I'm not looking for Italy. So makes sense, right? So the crowd itself was not as diverse as I expected. I was definitely in a minority, but I didn't feel like it. And that was cool because I've gone to plenty of events, especially in LA where I'm in the minority and I feel like it.

[00:07:35] So that was fine. And I know music is universal. I get all of that. But still, it's like Jay-Z is a rap concert. Apparently, all the people who went to New York concert were comparing, saying the demographics there and whatever. Anyway, so as far as the fashion goes, I saw a few fits.

[00:08:01] Mainly people were wearing just jeans and I didn't see too many people dressed up. Like I only saw maybe a handful of memorable outfits. A couple of people wore merch, which let me tell you, merch in London? I'm surprised I bought anything because that merch was no joke. We're talking like,

[00:08:29] what, 85 pounds for a hat and shirts. And like there were some jackets over 200 pounds. There was a jersey for like over 100 pounds. And so 85 pounds equates to about like, what, 110, 115. I bought a nice

[00:08:54] shirt. That I would have regretted. I regretted either way. I regretted buying it because of the price, even though it's very nice. And I would have regretted it if I didn't get it because it was so nice. And, you know, when I look at it, I'm like, maybe I should have waited until some days later when somebody else is selling it. Because you know, some resellers are going to try to sell it online. But

[00:09:21] treat yourself sometimes, right? You go out of the country, just get it. Just buy it. So I got that because I'm a street merch girl. I'm proud of that. I'm proud to support local businesses and not to break the bank. And so the show lasted, getting back to the show, right? The show lasted until about

[00:09:46] 10, 20 or so. There were drones. There was a helicopter flying over. It was a half open, half closed stadium. And that was my thing too. I didn't want to go to an open stadium. Up to part of the 100 section was covered. So if you were sitting in the 200 on up, you were covered. There was no expectation. It was a good weather night. And when we left, I was like, let me get some merch. They didn't have my size and the shirt that I

[00:10:15] wanted. But she directed me to another store, a huge merch store around the corner. And people were taking pictures. They had displays. And I didn't take any pics. Not of me in front of something because I would have had to ask somebody to take a picture of me and they would have done it. But I don't know. I just really didn't feel like doing that. So yeah, I got the shirt.

[00:10:42] And walking to take the train and or the tube, they call it. And what do I see? But a street vendor. He had two shirts, 10 pounds, which is like $13. It's like, if only I had seen him going in. But like I said, I got the shirt that I wanted. I may be wearing it often. And if I see him in LA,

[00:11:08] I'm going to wear it there because just because it was probably the most I've ever paid for a shirt. But overall, it was a good show. And then I read some comments online and people were comparing it to the first show. You know, people kill me with the comparison thing. Did you have a good time or not? Who cares how it was in LA? Who cares how it was night one?

[00:11:30] And did you enjoy yourself? Yes, you did. Okay. And I did enjoy myself. I would give it probably an eight out of 10 maybe because of the sound issues. So that took two away. But yeah, we got close to a two hour show. And I think it was longer than night one. Night one got more celebs,

[00:11:57] but I don't care. I didn't come to see them. You know, as long as the headliner does his or her thing. I'm content. If you've seen Jay-Z, if you intend to see Jay-Z during this 30 year reunion tour, leave a comment on my website, thedravespointofview.com or on the socials. I'd love to hear from you.
