[00:00:12] Welcome to Dreas Point of View. I am your hostess, Dreya. And in the next 10 minutes or less, I will be giving you my perspective on topics that I am passionate about. [00:00:32] So, I wanted to do the first review of the new season talking about a fashion show. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which used to be an annual event. It disappeared for a few years and just recently came back this year.

[00:00:56] Now, this is something that I look forward to every year, especially, I guess, they had Christmas ones. I just loved watching this show, being a huge fan of Victoria's Secret, being an ex-model, not of Victoria's Secret, unfortunately, but it was definitely a treat for me and many of you to watch.

[00:01:22] And my primary reason for watching it again was to see Tyra Banks. She'd been away from the runway for over 20 years. So, I definitely wanted to see that.

[00:01:35] So, it was in New York and you could have streamed it on YouTube as well as on Amazon Prime. And it was a little different.

[00:01:50] It opened with a model on a motorcycle and a band. I do not remember many of the models' names. I will say that.

[00:02:02] But there were musical performances. There were, of course, models coming up from the floor with their wings and not so much critiquing the walks, but it just seemed like something was missing to me.

[00:02:22] I don't know. It wasn't as fabulous as back in the day. And I remember reading a lot of the posts saying that a lot of the old models didn't show. The original models didn't show. A lot of them I've never seen before. So, there's that.

[00:02:39] I don't know. It was exciting to watch because it came back, but it still didn't have all the pomp and circumstance from back in the day. Many people said it was low budget.

[00:02:49] I appreciated the fact that there was a diversity in models. You had models of all shades. There were plus models or what they call them now, I guess, curve models represented the runway.

[00:03:05] And they got a lot of bad reviews according to people. And that's pretty sad because women come in all shapes and sizes. So, I think everyone should be represented.

[00:03:18] I know when I worked for Victoria's Secret, I remember some women coming in and getting disappointed that we didn't carry their size.

[00:03:24] So, it was important to represent sizes and important to represent different shades and ethnicities.

[00:03:34] So, there was Cher. She performed. That was good to see. And models walked the runway.

[00:03:45] The lingerie, it wasn't as fancy as the years passed.

[00:03:52] I remember in previous years, some of those things, it looked like it definitely was just for show and I wouldn't wear them at home.

[00:04:00] But it looked more, I don't know, I don't want to say plain. It looked more affordable.

[00:04:07] The models were wearing more affordable attire. So, that was good to see.

[00:04:13] I don't know. I enjoyed it.

[00:04:15] Like I said, a little something was missing.

[00:04:18] I would have to give it out of five stars, I probably would say three and a half to four stars.

[00:04:26] There was a little choreography at the beginning, which was a nice treat.

[00:04:31] There was an artist, I believe, Tyla was her name.

[00:04:36] And it was the first time they had someone from, I believe it was, she's Africa or South Africa.

[00:04:46] They had models from so many different continents.

[00:04:52] And it was just nice. It was just nice to have it back.

[00:04:57] Hopefully, despite the reviews, it'll be back next year as well.

[00:05:04] But leading up to Miss Tyra Banks, she came up from the floor.

[00:05:12] And to me, she did a great job.

[00:05:15] There were a lot of critiques on her attire.

[00:05:16] I wasn't too crazy about that.

[00:05:19] It looked like a corset with leggings.

[00:05:22] I was hoping to show, she was the only one who wore leggings.

[00:05:25] And she wore a cape.

[00:05:27] And she said she represented many who were of an older age.

[00:05:37] And obviously, she was not as small as she was.

[00:05:40] That was almost 20 years ago.

[00:05:41] And people were critiquing that she wasn't plus size.

[00:05:44] But she definitely wasn't how she was back then.

[00:05:49] And she still looked good to me.

[00:05:51] Her hair and everything looked like a lioness.

[00:05:54] They said her shoes weren't the best.

[00:05:58] But for those of us who have walked the runway, you are going to be walking in uncomfortable shoes.

[00:06:06] So there's that.

[00:06:08] But it was amazing to see her.

[00:06:10] She got a lot of applause.

[00:06:13] She was the highlight for me.

[00:06:15] Her and Cher.

[00:06:16] But it could still be seen for those of you interested on Amazon Prime and YouTube.
