[00:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: The PodBread Network is strictly for the small podcasts that are up and coming in the vast world of podcasting.
[00:00:10] [SPEAKER_00]: PodBread is made up of many diverse podcasts.
[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Coming together to achieve the same goal of being the best damn podcast network on the planet.
[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Find out more at podbreed.com.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: So a couple of things inspired this episode,
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: but
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_01]: most recently
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: is CrowdStrike.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure many of you are familiar with that.
[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You've read about it on social media.
[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_01]: You know someone who went through it or you went through it yourself.
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And that involved being stuck
[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: at airports, not having a place to stay.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was thinking, I wonder if any of those people who are stranded used to use.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Dreas Point of View. I am your host, Estreia. In 10 minutes or less, I will be talking to you about
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: a topic that I feel passionate about.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I would love to invite you to follow the show at Dreas Point of View
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: on IG,
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Pinterest, Threads and Facebook. You can also follow the show
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: at Dreas Point on X and Spill.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So Day Use is an app where you can find a room
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: for a few hours during the day.
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_01]: If you have a long layover at an airport
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_01]: and want to freshen up,
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: you can simply log on to the app
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: see what's available.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to pay
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: right away
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: and you can also cancel for free.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Now, there are many amenities that you can request as well
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_01]: such as a pool or my favorite
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_01]: late checkout.
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I haven't used it yet
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_01]: but I think it's a good deal if you
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: just want a place to
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_01]: lay your head.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of killing time in an airport because
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: some people, and I don't blame them, don't want to spend a minute longer
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: in an airport.
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Day Use is something that I came across online
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: and I was like, this may not be a bad idea.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: They also have international hotels.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_01]: You can access their website,
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: dayuse.com,
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_01]: plug in your location, the hotel.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_01]: It'll tell you the cost, what's available,
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_01]: how many hours you can stay there.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And the prices aren't too bad. I mean considering
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: what versus you spending four or five hours
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_01]: in an airport?
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a pretty good deal.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Have you used Day Use?
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Would you consider it? Have you even heard of it?
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I would love to hear from you at draespointofview.substack.com.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I do have some positive news for today
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: and it comes from Costco.
[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_01]: They are now selling an emergency food supply variety pack by ReadyWise
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_01]: that provides 150 servings of freeze dried meals
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_01]: for $99.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It will remain fresh for up to 25 years.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm not sure if that's a misprint, maybe they mean 25 months, but
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just reading to you what I read.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_01]: The pack includes dishes such as teriyaki rice,
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_01]: chicken noodle soup, granola,
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and pudding.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: This offering is in line with
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: those who have an increased interest in
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: long-term survival kits,
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: especially following predictions like those of
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: the mystic Babavanga or Babavanga
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: who claims that the world will come to an end next year.
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I know many Costco members.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I have yet to ask them if they are interested.
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're a member, would you buy that kit?
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a pretty good deal.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: May $99 to be prepared for the inevitable?
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't hurt, right?
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Make sure that you sign up for my free weekly newsletter,
[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Dreya's Point of View, substack.com.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: It'll tell you about my upcoming episodes as well as podcast events that are coming up.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: As always, I thank you for listening.
