[00:00:19] Find out more at podbreed.com. So I came across an article that talks about, well, let me start off by saying we all know that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look good.
[00:00:54] And especially on jeans, I remember having a discussion with somebody back in the day or a spirited debate where I told her I never spent a lot on jeans. I think I may only own one pair of jeans that I consider to be expensive.
[00:01:09] And she was just shocked about it. I own so many jeans. They all look good. They've all held up over the years. I don't think I need to spend a lot of money for it.
[00:01:17] So I just happened to come across an article that talked about looking good for less. And it's called How to Look Classy, 19 Effortless Ways to Look Elegant on a Budget. And I'll just list a few. The articles by Deandrea Douglas.
[00:01:40] I'm Dreya, the hostess of this short form podcast, Dreya's Point of View. I wanted to invite you to follow me on the socials. You could find me at Dreya's Point of View on IG, Facebook, Pinterest and threads. And at Dreya Point on X and Spill.
[00:01:58] The first thing talks about having well groomed hair. That is huge. And you know, it's interesting, too, because I love a fresh haircut on a guy. I love it. And because I travel, that's primarily what I see.
[00:02:16] It's rare that I see any guy, even a kid without a perfect lineup. It just does something to my heart to see that. But it also means comb and brush. And some of us ladies don't really do that. So I see more men's hair that's groomed than women's.
[00:02:37] I mean, if nothing else, a guy will put it up in a man bun. You know, but women? I don't know. I really think we could do better. Whether it's natural, especially if it isn't, you know, and especially if it's a wig.
[00:02:50] I mean, ladies, you can mean a quick touch up in the mirror compact. I mean, it's something to be said about someone with unkempt hair. It's not not a good look, especially after a certain age. It could really make a break.
[00:03:08] How you look? It makes a big difference in your appearance. It makes you feel that you are confident. You know, I mean, it doesn't have to be straight or to be well groomed, but. You know, comb and brush works wonders with everyone.
[00:03:27] Another thing on the list to say always smell good. And yes, that's something that I live by. I'm all about smell goods, as my as my grandmother used to say. I always I grew up in a house full of people who loved to put on sense.
[00:03:45] You know, my grandmother who lived behind us, she would always put on stuff. And she was the one who actually got me to like Estee Lauder. Yes, I said, Estee Lauder. It's still around. And they're coming up with new sense and they all smell good.
[00:03:58] And then my mom, when she went out, she'd always well. Not always. She would. But she would always. Puts on baby oil, that was her big thing. My dad, not so much now, but I remember he would always
[00:04:16] he'd have so much cologne and would always make sure to put on something before left the house, so me watching that, I always had to get something to keep with me. So you know, travel size scent ladies and fellas.
[00:04:32] It trust me and a little dab will do you. You don't have to shower in it because that's what I've noticed a lot. People either they put too much on or very, very usually it's too much. They don't know how to put it on sparingly.
[00:04:49] What is it? The pulse points behind the ear or wrist. The next thing on this list to for you to look classy is to keep your nails groomed and minimal. Oh, OK. That's a big one, especially with women. Every every woman I see for the most part.
[00:05:19] Gets her nails done. I'm not talking about the long coffin, which like nails. That's to me is too much, but they mainly are done well polished. Even if you polish them yourself, make sure all the polish is on. You know, just it.
[00:05:39] I don't know. It just after as well, we're all adults. As an adult, I just see no reason whether you can afford to get them done or not. Like I said, clear or don't have anything on at all. Just but to walk around with them half done.
[00:05:54] It's it's just tacky to me. It really elevates your look and. So to speak, it makes you appear more polished. Nothing like getting a nice manicure and pedicure. Take care of your clothes, making sure that they look clean for one. Make sure that you
[00:06:24] it wouldn't hurt to go to the dry cleaners every now and then for some items. Make sure that you don't look wrinkled. I will say that I don't see too many people walking around with other wrinkled look. Any rips or snags or any pilling?
[00:06:39] Please don't wear that in public. It's I don't know, it just really I really big on clothes. I love to shop and I can say I've had most of my clothes for years. Still in great condition. I do purge on occasion. I donate. I like to sell.
[00:07:01] And but I won't be. I don't know, I would even feel right putting on something with a hole in it other than the distress look as I don't know. I just yeah, I do feel better when you look better. I do. Having them tailored wouldn't hurt.
[00:07:21] Now, I've only had one piece of clothing tailored, and that was to go to my friend's wedding. And it was the ironic part about it was that the outfit happened to be her wedding colors. But that was the only thing I needed to have tailored.
[00:07:40] I suggest that for anyone, really. It just looks so well put together. Clothes that fit. I'm not really with the baggy look. And there's a lot more, a lot more on this list, but just. And it's and it doesn't really cost much to do these things either.
[00:08:02] So what do you think? What what do you do to feel better? And or what's a trick that you have that makes you look like you spent a lot of money on something, although. You are on a budget. I'd love to know.
