[00:00:21] The golden time of day

[00:00:47] Happy feelings

[00:00:49] And we are one or just a few of the hits that I grew up with from

[00:00:56] This R&B group

[00:00:57] Out of all the concerts I've been to I've never been to one's farewell tour

[00:01:04] until now

[00:01:05] So thank you Frankie Beverly and Maze

[00:01:10] Welcome to Dreas Point of View. I am your host is Dre and I would like to invite you

[00:01:26] On Mother's Day of this year. I treated myself to see one of my favorite groups of all time

[00:01:33] It was my mom's favorite or one of my mom's favorite groups as well

[00:01:37] So I felt like she was definitely with me. I grew up

[00:01:42] Listening to this

[00:01:45] group and

[00:01:46] Haven't seen them before throughout the years

[00:01:50] It was just a special treat to be able to experiences

[00:01:55] During their last

[00:01:58] tour

[00:02:00] If anyone has seen this group before then you know there's signature outfit is what all white

[00:02:06] One of their tour stops was in Los Angeles. So I thought it would be a great time to remember my mom

[00:02:13] When I got there

[00:02:15] All you could see was a sea of white

[00:02:18] Those that didn't wear it definitely stood out

[00:02:21] Surprisingly, there weren't that many couples

[00:02:24] mainly women I

[00:02:27] Know when I've seen him in the past

[00:02:28] Couples were definitely all over so I wonder

[00:02:32] Wonder what was going on? Maybe

[00:02:35] the men didn't feel like

[00:02:39] Showing up there on Mother's Day, I don't see why I mean everywhere is packed on Mother's Day

[00:02:42] So I don't know why they didn't turn out for that

[00:02:47] They had two acts open for them

[00:02:51] But as soon as they came out it was a huge love fest

[00:02:56] You could feel the love everyone was on their feet

[00:02:59] You could see different groups doing some type of slide. I mean it was it was beautiful. It really was

[00:03:05] Now Frankie Beverly is

[00:03:08] Strictly a singer so you're not gonna get much dancing out of him especially at 77

[00:03:14] so you either as a

[00:03:17] Singer you either need background dancers or an outstanding band and that's definitely what he had

[00:03:25] Mays did not disappoint. There's something magical about a band

[00:03:30] Especially when the band name is in the title because after all these years

[00:03:35] He could have easily just went by Frankie Beverly, but the fact that he acknowledged his band

[00:03:40] Throughout the years is really what I enjoyed

[00:03:43] Now his voice it didn't sound as strong

[00:03:47] But it sounded good and it didn't really matter because we were just glad to get the gift of him touring with us one last time and

[00:03:56] Like I said, everyone's on their feet. They were basically singing

[00:03:59] We knew every word of his songs. So

[00:04:04] That was just I don't know we it just felt like an honor seeing him

[00:04:10] I'm sure most of you are familiar with this music if you're not just go to greatest hits listen to that

[00:04:16] It'll really it's a vibe. It was definitely a vibe for sure and

[00:04:20] I got a

[00:04:22] T-shirt which I rarely do I rarely get t-shirts anymore

[00:04:25] I'm not a big t-shirt wear unless it's a v-neck and

[00:04:30] That wasn't but it was a color

[00:04:34] T-shirt, you know, it had him on the front and

[00:04:38] the tour dates on the back and

[00:04:43] It wasn't cheap they used but it was reasonable it was it was definitely reasonable and

[00:04:49] What was funny was

[00:04:51] As nice as that shirt was as soon as I left there were so many other people selling shirts for much less

[00:04:59] Didn't look as good. So I'll always have that momentum

[00:05:04] Of Frankie Beverly and me. I remember my dad having all those albums when I was coming up

[00:05:10] And I always used to just well, I had no choice but to listen. I was not like I would go outside while he was playing them and

[00:05:18] Definitely a treat. That's why his signature ball cap. That's where my dad picked that up from

[00:05:24] with Frankie Beverly and

[00:05:27] Yeah, he definitely still has it you can see he was trying to do some moves and

[00:05:32] You still get that beard's all gray now when he was moving slower. So you could tell age has really

[00:05:38] Got up to him. But like I said, it was just we were all just glad to see him and

[00:05:45] Experiencing him one last time if you are a maze Frankie Beverly and maze fan

[00:05:54] What is your favorite song and why I would love to hear about it at

[00:05:59] Dreyas point of view at yahoo.com if you got the chance to experience him

[00:06:04] Them I should say live

[00:06:06] I'd love to know that as well and you can also leave a review of my website the Dreyas point of view comm as always I

[00:06:13] Think you for listening this has been Dreyas
