[00:00:01] The PodBread Network is strictly for the small podcasts that are up and coming in the vast world of podcasting. PodBread is made up of many diverse podcasts. Coming together to achieve the same goal of being the best damn podcast network on the planet.

[00:00:18] Find out more at podbreed.com I wanted to talk about solo dating. I saw this topic trending on the socials during my hiatus. People were taking themselves out for dinner and even a concert. I've done both of those things. I came across an article about solo dating

[00:01:07] on LatoyaRachel.com, I believe. OrlaYoyaRachel.com Called 100 Solo Date Ideas. It's time to level up your me time game. Welcome to Dreas Point of View. I am your hostess,

[00:01:28] Drea, and I would love to invite you to follow me at Dreas Point of View on IG, Pinterest, Facebook, and Threads. You can find me at Dreas Point on X and Spill. Why go out solo? Suppose your significant other isn't around or it doesn't want to go.

[00:01:47] Do you just stay at home? Or if there's a concert coming to town and none of your friends could make it for whatever reason. Going solo allows you to have self-confidence and it lets you try something new with no judgment.

[00:02:04] For those of you who are interested in where to go, why don't you take notes? Check out a local coffee shop and people watch. And I'm not talking about Starbucks so much. A local coffee shop. That really never gets old people watching.

[00:02:28] There are some interesting coffee shops in these cities too if you do your research. You can make your own candles. I read a post where this woman went to a candle making class and I added that to my bucket list.

[00:02:42] I asked her, I said how was it? There were a lot of couples. They were like no. Surprisingly, there were a lot of single people there making candles. My luck I'll be the only single person trying it out. So we'll see.

[00:02:55] Enjoy your favorite movie at the theater. I do this often but mainly because I can walk to mine. I avoid the weekend crowd and only go during a matinee. I try to make that very first showing.

[00:03:07] So I'm one of the few people in the theater. It's not as bad. Organize a game night for yourself. It doesn't have to be solitaire. There are some electronic games that are very fun.

[00:03:21] One of my favorites on this list is having a staycation at a hotel. I know I've done that a few times. There's even resort pass where you can take advantage of the amenities of a hotel for a low price.

[00:03:33] So you can go to a spa, treat yourself to the pool. You could do so much at these fancy hotels for a low price. You should check that out. Explore a local food festival. There's always those going on especially this time of year.

[00:03:47] It seems to be one every month where I live. It's a great way to try out some local restaurants that you've been wanting to try and that way you'll know so whenever you do go out on a date or with someone, you've already tried it, right? For less.

[00:04:03] One of my favorites is taking yourself out on a shopping spree. You can try on as many clothes as you want. Take your time. You're not judged on how it looks or your fashion sense. I know when I used to shop there was always someone who

[00:04:19] certain places I used to shop. There was always a woman commenting on a piece that I thought I would look great in. Oh, this will look cute on you like we're not together. I came in here alone for a reason.

[00:04:31] But yeah, that's pretty fun to do I think and no one's in your pockets either. Create your own photo shoot and practice your poses. I highly recommend this for models. Benefit yourself and the photographer so you won't have to be told how to pose.

[00:04:49] It's pretty fun too. They've got a lot of, so much. There are so many places you can do photo shoots and get a tripod and you're good to go. Try indoor rock climbing. Now I've seen this

[00:05:04] activity on a lot of TV shows but it's usually done as a couple. I don't see why you can't do it alone. Go to a vintage thrift store. I love thrift shopping. Look at murals and street art. I'm sure every city has that. That's not hard to do.

[00:05:23] Take an online language course. I'm doing that now or trying to do that. I'm telling you my concentration isn't where it used to be. Learn a new form of dance by taking an online dance class.

[00:05:38] Another one of my favorite solo dates is going to the beach. It's that time of year. I'll definitely be going more often and plus it doesn't hurt that I can walk to it. Explore a botanical garden.

[00:05:55] Do a photo shoot of nature. I remember having to do that once for a photography class. It was pretty fun. Visit a local wildlife sanctuary. Relax with a spa day at home. Get your candles set up

[00:06:10] and optional soft music playing in the background and you're good to go. Meditate or practice yoga. You can do that at a local park. Enjoy a mindfulness walk. Write a list of your accomplishments. Make a scrapbook or a vision board. Love those vision boards. Have a dessert tasting

[00:06:40] or even a wine tasting. Have a picnic in the park. You know, I haven't done that but I have seen others do it. Not by themselves but I don't see anything wrong with that. Check out a concert. Almost every city has free ones outdoors this time of year.

[00:07:02] You can also try your hand at karaoke. I've always admired people who get up there and don't sound great to participate. There are solo dates that make an impact such as volunteering at a food bank or

[00:07:18] shelter. I've done that. You can donate blood at the American Red Cross. You can also connect with an organization that is close to your heart. Educate yourself on current issues and learn

[00:07:31] of ways that you can make a change. For those of you who are solo daters, what can you add to the list? What would you want to try? What have you done so far? Please contact me at DrayusPointofView
