[00:01:00] March 30th is known as Bipolar Day World Bipolar Day and I wanted to talk about how you can get involved in this episode.

[00:01:11] Thank you for tuning into Dreas Point of View, I am your host, Drea. If you would be so kind and follow me on ExxonSpill at Dreas Point and at Dreas Point of View on IG Pinterest, Threads and Facebook.

[00:01:35] So there is a black and white striped ribbon you can wear on March 30th, which is the day before Easter. The painter Van goes birthday is the same day and he was known to be Bipolar.

[00:01:49] That was something new I learned while researching this topic. Sharing information that you learn about this on social media is helpful. You can also talk to people about it.

[00:02:01] The Mania and Depression represent the black and white in the ribbon. A green ribbon can also be worn as an international symbol for mental health.

[00:02:13] You can either make one or get one at a health agency. Going to some events that may be offered from people who live with being Bipolar can help.

[00:02:23] Reading about it is also one thing but hearing is another. Looking at some fun razors in your area, there's always someone looking for volunteers or you can donate financially.

[00:02:39] You may be able to walk or run for the cause. You can put a team together or join one. Looking to volunteer opportunities for that day.

[00:02:49] If you yourself is Bipolar, I want to say if you yourself are Bipolar but if you are Bipolar or you know someone who is, they could either be a speaker or tell their story in a magazine or a blog.

[00:03:08] Support groups are ways to connect. You can meet online if available. Some groups are B-Hope and National Alliance on Mental Illness.

[00:03:19] Like other illnesses, it helps to stay involved year round. You can subscribe to newsletters to stay abreast of events happening throughout the year.

[00:03:30] And once again, this year, World Bipolar Day, falls day before Easter March 30th.

[00:03:37] I wanted to put this episode out before March 30th in case you happen to listen to this at night then you know it kind of defeats the purpose of doing anything but like I said, you can always do something throughout the year.

[00:03:58] My positive news story comes from Barbie in celebration of Women's History Month and the 65th anniversary of Barbie.

[00:04:07] Last month, Violet Davis was given her own Barbie. She joins a slew of other black Barbie dolls such as Tina Turner, Ida B Wells and Eva DuVernay.

[00:04:18] If you've seen it, the resemblance is amazing and I want one.
