TV 2 Books Minisode: Criminal Minds Book Tie-Ins Reviewed!

[00:00:06] It's a Jacked Up Review Show Welcome all, welcome all. We are doing once again more spinoffs of various intellectual properties, comics, books, movies, games, tv shows, everything. In this case we got a hit tv show that came

[00:01:00] briefly a book series within the first three seasons. There were free books of this kind written by UK author Max Holland Collins who is best known for road to perdition and various other

[00:01:12] noir shows. Very interesting how Max has made a big living doing both books and comic books. He's best known as the author of road to perdition which was a graphic novel as well as a book

[00:01:25] spinoff series and which got adapted into a movie. He's adapted all kinds of other shows as well. All together it's just interesting in that sometimes he really nails the characters other times they're inseparable from various other basic or generic novels. It really just depends

[00:01:45] on the material and what are Max just feeling that day. This is interesting here because unlike some of the other spinoff material that he's held this one actually feels needed like he's actually gonna concerned effort with really nailing the character choices. The books themselves include

[00:02:06] free titles, they are jump cut, killer profile in fishing school and once again they are once again spinoff novels of brutal minds the TV show and it's interesting because book two I was able to read online even though it's how to print. Book three I found on Google

[00:02:27] Books and book one was way too expensive even for the purposes of this reef review so I said you know what I'm gonna cut corners I'll do two three-thirds of these but I'm not doing

[00:02:42] the first book. He really understands how to write these characters and polish them based on viewer expectations and fans of the series it's actually interesting how original he can be with the suspense and with the opening murders and details.

[00:03:03] All together they're kind of just lazy Sunday night reads if you want to watch the show but you don't necessarily just watch it watching you can just read it and it beats reading fan fiction

[00:03:16] I'll tell you that much. It's not a must read it's really not even all that well remembered within the fan base but it really can't hurt either it's just a lazy straightforward acceptable Sunday night read yeah from reading killer profile and finishing school

[00:03:37] I gotta say Max is very interesting and that he always surprises in a good way that being said I just don't feel like the material is really worthy of the license it doesn't really leave

[00:03:50] the terribly age impression now that being said if you're a hardcore fan of the show and you've seen it many times and you want to do something new then hop aboard you really can't go wrong here but make sure they're very discounted they're just kind of acceptable and

[00:04:10] they're they are well competently made but they're also not like must reads so be advised and fans you're really big on them go for it if you're not you're not missing much but glad to know that
