[00:03:47] it's because I love these actors, but they didn't get big after the show, versus I think

[00:03:52] all of the actors from community got big and got busy.

[00:03:57] That's a good point.

[00:03:57] Well, James Roderick Rodriguez went, and he was on that Million...

[00:04:02] That was such a great finale.

[00:04:03] A million little pieces or whatever the fuck that show was.

[00:04:07] A million little things, yes.

[00:04:09] I mean, that was on for way too long.

[00:04:12] Well, Dulé Hill's got the wonder years as well.

[00:04:13] He had network TV money.

[00:04:15] It was five epic seasons for me, but it's all done, and that's actually a good crossover,

[00:04:21] because he brought the guy who played Maggie on that onto the second psych movie.

[00:04:25] So that was a little crossover, but I think that was a perfect example of a...

[00:04:30] Kind of like with Spielberg.

[00:04:31] He wanted to be serious, and not all his fans were keen on seeing him be serious right away.

[00:04:36] Yeah.

[00:04:37] It's tough to be a Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams type.

[00:04:43] I forgot USA Network existed.

[00:04:45] Yeah.

[00:04:47] It's so funny, Siri.

[00:04:52] I loved how Omenson, when he first got cast,

[00:04:54] he wasn't sure the show was going to take off.

[00:04:56] He's like, USA, that's the place where my grandma watches reruns of Silk Stockings.

[00:05:01] Is this really going to last?

[00:05:03] I actually came to the show, though.

[00:05:04] Were they still rerunning Silk Stockings in 2006?

[00:05:07] Oh, I don't know.

[00:05:08] I don't think so, but either way...

[00:05:10] They might have been, but I'm more interested in hearing the story of how his grandma got into Silk Stockings in the first place.

[00:05:15] She's just a big Rob Astey's fan, you know?

[00:05:20] Like, she was a mystery guy, and so she would always be like,

[00:05:23] Kimmy, you're a good actor.

[00:05:24] I watch your diagnosis murder episode every time it's on.

[00:05:27] He's like, thanks, Grandma.

[00:05:30] Kristen Nelson apparently has been in a few other movies outside of The Fugitive with Jane Lynch,

[00:05:34] so I think that's why she had her cast as her sister cop.

[00:05:38] All the guest spots of people from...

[00:05:40] I mean, I can't think of his name, who played Cameron in Ferris Bueller.

[00:05:44] Alan Ruck.

[00:05:45] Alan Ruck, yeah.

[00:05:46] He comes in there, and Ralph Macchio.

[00:05:48] He is ready to play.

[00:05:50] He's one of those other actors where he can play it straight, and it works for the comedy, and vice versa.

[00:05:54] He can go all over the top, and it works.

[00:05:56] But I think it also helps that everyone loved working with each other.

[00:06:00] They weren't sure the first year, but they only had one or two guest stars who were cranky,

[00:06:05] and were like, sorry, my agent forced me into this.

[00:06:08] What the hell is this show?

[00:06:09] But everyone got it.

[00:06:11] And there must be just something about just working just cheaper in Canada.

[00:06:16] It's not just the tax cuts.

[00:06:17] Everyone gets in and then flies back home after the weekend.

[00:06:20] They seem to have fun, and that's a major plus for the show.

[00:06:23] You can tell that they're all just having fun making the show.

[00:06:26] Dan Gia, who was Richard Dean Anderson's stunt double and the coordinator on Stargate,

[00:06:31] was working as the stunt department on this show,

[00:06:33] and you see him pop up every once in a while as a dead guy or something.

[00:06:37] And I joked with him a few times on Facebook, and he was just like,

[00:06:41] oh, that episode.

[00:06:43] You have no idea how much fun that was to make.

[00:06:46] Well, and you can get that right away with James and Dulé.

[00:06:50] Their chemistry together is what drives the show.

[00:06:53] For sure.

[00:06:54] You can tell how much they like making the show together.

[00:06:57] And that kind of energy will spread around,

[00:07:00] and you won't get guest stars that don't want to be there too often.

[00:07:06] Absolutely.

[00:07:06] Especially once you find your footing.

[00:07:08] Are there stories there?

[00:07:10] Are there guest stars that were...

[00:07:11] They didn't name any, but they said there was like two,

[00:07:14] and they weren't trying to be an asshole.

[00:10:33] The one scene he's in of the film where you see him on the phone, he shot that from his

[00:10:40] hospital bed.

[00:10:43] And they literally just put him in a suit and they're like, here we go.

[00:10:51] But kudos to him for having to transform his life and be more spiritual.

[00:10:57] And I think it's just so funny how we see him play all these bad guys and grumps and he

[00:11:02] wanted to get out of that after a while.

[00:11:05] I loved him in Galavant.

[00:11:08] That was a very fun show, yeah.

[00:11:10] I love that show.

[00:11:14] Oh, and but to you guys' earlier points, yeah, it is kind of a shame that they'll always

[00:12:36] Like the writers were so good at structuring it and mixing and improv and then promising

[00:12:43] everybody changes are going to come instead of just do the same shit every day.

[00:12:51] And kudos to Gus portrayer Dooley Hill also bringing out some of his actual dance moves.

[00:16:09] So then when he popped up on Psych, I'm like, I've seen this dude before.

[00:16:12] The David Fincher Club is invading our show.

[00:16:19] Like any good show, we only knew some of these guys.

[00:16:22] I think probably some of us might have known the last of the actor, Tim Omenson, from TV

[00:16:27] movies like Luck of the Irish, that old Disney Channel movie where you play a leprechaun.

[00:16:31] Or the Frasier episode where he's the director of the commercial.

[00:16:35] Oh, right.

[00:16:36] He had some brief return roles.

[00:16:38] I knew Dulé Hill from West Wing.

[00:16:40] Sure.

[00:16:41] Isn't it amazing how many of his West Wing stars he got on here every once in a while?

[00:16:47] And he made a couple of shout outs, too.

[00:16:49] I think when he first sees...

[00:17:17] So you do love seeing these inside jokes where basically these actors are at like the fifth

[00:17:21] stage of their career and they're just...

[00:17:23] They're doing a different twist on what they've been doing the last 10 years.

[00:17:28] Richard Schiff was in the second Psych movie.

[00:17:32] Oh, that's right!

[00:17:33] I don't remember if there was a West Wing joke thrown in there or not.

[00:17:37] I don't know if there was.

[00:17:38] I think the joke was...

[00:17:39] I can't imagine there wouldn't have been.

[00:17:41] I would have to see it again, but...

[00:17:46] Because the only real scene they had together was when they were eating the ice chips and

[00:17:50] getting the hallucinogenic reactions.

[00:17:54] It was kind of like the This Is Us moment.

[00:17:56] I think it was more funny that, hey, those who've been watching too much TV, you're really

[00:17:59] going to get it.

[00:18:00] And the rest of the time, he's just playing a weird character.

[00:18:04] And it's a good compromise for them.

[00:18:06] You know, they can pursue all the TV shows they want to guest star or be a part of and

[00:18:11] just be one month in Vancouver and do the movie appearance, whatever they've been slated

[00:18:18] to do.

[00:18:18] And it works out for everybody.

[00:18:20] They don't exhaust their character, so to speak.

[00:18:23] And it helps that...

[00:18:24] What's Maggie Lawson doing nowadays?

[00:18:26] She's been doing a bunch of different sitcoms.

[00:19:04] It's already an atypical episode with the way it's edited, staged, mixed.

[00:19:09] And you're just like, oh, my Lord.

[00:19:14] And out of her, you know, she...

[00:19:16] She's the one with the doll face.

[00:19:48] And she actually was on a West Wing episode playing the president's doctor.
