[00:01:01] Lou is here, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Don't try to imitate me, boy, alright? I was there when they filmed The Munsters. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we got the movie geek in the house, Kristin Battestella. How are you doing? Hello. Yeah, Battestella. Yeah, yeah. Nice to meet you. Hey, hey, hey. Pipe down. But no, seriously. So, one thing I've noticed growing up is the...

[00:01:29] Da da da da da da da da, The Addams Family. That always sounded like that was being emulated in the Pinky and the Brain song. Ba da ba da ba da da da da da da. Yeah. That same kind of, if it were anything else, it'd totally be a straight-up horror show. Ba da ba da ba da. It's just like, it's just campier. It's just like, hell, without this, you do not get Danny Elfman in Oinko Boinga. First off, before we dive into this, how are you, Kristin? Hi! Good. Technology is cooperating.

[00:01:59] Is it? Is it? That's the first hurdle. Is it now? Is it? Is it? I'm not... Yeah, I'm not Herman with the bolts, you know, exploding, you know, shooting out. So... Yeah, so without that, you don't get Professor Honeydew and Beaker. So did any of you mix this up growing up in any way, shape or form? I think I did at one point. And then I was like...

[00:02:27] In fact, as a result, I actually, when thinking about this year, I'm like, oh my goodness. I've always seen the monsters, but I thought I saw some of Adam's Family. He's like, no, I've just seen every other incarnation of Adam's Family. Oh! I was exposed to it. I know, but you're older than us. No, I saw it in reruns when the towers fell. Yeah, are we getting into age? Are we 100-year-old vampires here? I'm 51. Oh, how did you know? Damn it, I've been found out.

[00:02:56] I'm 51, so I grew up with it in the early 1980s. The reruns were everywhere. Yeah, because PIX had them on in the morning, so it was like you would watch the monsters in the morning. And then I think Channel 5 had the... No, they were both on PIX, I think, which became the WB. I can't remember.

[00:03:26] It was for CBS originally, and Adam's Family was for ABC. Yeah. Wait, what a time, I mean, in the 60s, when it was like, yeah, monsters and Addams were competing, but then there was Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie were competing with each other. Like, oh, let's just have fun, fantasy, fun sitcoms. So call back to the other episode. Yeah, we did have fun kind of joking about that, how it's like, yeah, it's like, it's easy to mix up if you're not paying close attention, Bewitched with Jeannie, even though you would think, well, one's a genie, the other's a witch.

[00:03:56] But... But... Whatever. But I think the thing that always gets me is like, the Munsters was kind of like, the Addams Family comes from Charles Addams, who was a... Right. New Yorker. New Yorker. Yeah. And had created this family in the 30s. They were kind of like, ghoulish, but they were funny. You know, like he had one where there are carolers outside the house and Lurch and Bester

[00:04:26] are gonna dump boiling oil on them. You know, that's... That was the humor that he had. And when he saw the show, he didn't really like it at first. And then he was like, oh, I get it. You know, yeah, this is what, you know... And they had a really good cast set up. You know, it was... So the cartoon predated it. Yeah. But didn't Munsters come first? Um... I'm trying to think. I think they were both in the worst at the same time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:04:59] The Munsters had makeup because they were trying to get Fred Gwynn's makeup right. Um... Because... I love how that actor who played, uh... Oh, what's his name? Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Yeah. Officer Leo Schnauzer. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:05:28] And I thought they lasted longer than they actually did, but they're both for like two season runs. Yeah. Because at first you think like they're each like 60-some or 70-some episodes, but you're like, yeah, only two seasons worth of each one, like 30-some episode seasons. You're like, that's wild. And they do get repetitive. I mean, sometimes you're like, how many times are they going to have a relative visit or this is going to happen? They're going to scare somebody at the door. But yeah, you're like that they're awesome at the same time. Right. One of them has a dragon underneath, the other just has all kinds of secret labs.

[00:05:56] The thing I loved about the Addams Family was that, and the monsters, is the monsters is like, it's this, they're the tropes of horror characters. Yes. You know, Dracula's grandpa, you know, and Lily is his daughter, and like, you know, Frankenstein is, you know, like a lovable dad. And, you know, Eddie is like this like cute little kid who's a werewolf. And they think Marilyn, who's the normal one, is the weirdo. Yeah. And I mean, that's what I loved about it.

[00:06:25] You got to say it like Sam the Eagle. You are all weirdos. You are all weirdos. And then you've got the Addams Family, which is basically this like strange family, like, you know, Pugsley likes to blow up stuff. And, you know, Wednesday's like, you know, like she's just, she's not the Wednesday Addams you see now. She's kind of like a little girl who's got little pigtails. She's got the headless little doll, the Marie Antoinette doll. Yeah, the Marie Antoinette doll.

[00:06:55] And then you've got, you've got... Let them eat cake. Morticia, who's clipping off the heads of the roses. And then you've got, you know, Gomez with his cigar. And he's like, you know, he's just, he's just out there. But it's like, it's fun when you watch them when they're talking about something. It's like, you know, I look, you know, there's so many things you can just watch and you're just like, I get the jokes of this now. And I get how this works, you know, they're, they, people see them as strange, but they see themselves as normal people. You know?

[00:07:25] And that's, that's kind of like every bad guy thinks they're right. Same thing. It's like, they're like, yeah, it's just a typical Tuesday we've talked about. And they have this seven, this seven foot butler named Lurch who goes, you know, that's what Herman Munster was kind of an answer to. But their, their goal first and foremost is they want to be like good Americans. They want to be like the all American family. Yeah. You know, you're like, okay. Totally. So Jeff Carr had a funny thing for us off air.

[00:07:53] He didn't get to be on this episode, but he had a fun theory that the Addams family is the liberal kind and the Munsters are the conservatives and they would have hated each other had they ever met. And by conservative, he means the Cold War type. I'm like, I can totally see that. It's like, I mean, for God's sakes, they're living under a bunker. They're totally preppers. No, you think you got to think like the Munsters are like, like, you know, there's, there's

[00:08:18] this one little bit where we're, you know, Herman said, now Eddie, I want you to know something. It doesn't care if somebody's short call, you know, you're doing Danny Carvey is George Bush. No, no, no, no, no. It's trying to be my best friend. When I'm just giving you shit. I love you. And it's like, it's like, daddy. And, but I think I love about is there's like so many episodes of the Munsters you'd like to watch. Like, you know, there's, there's, there's so many things of the Munsters. I can remember.

[00:08:48] I don't remember that much about the Adams family episodes. Yeah. You know, except I remember cousin it and thing. I saw clips. And yet for whatever reason, I just, I didn't get it rerun over here much. But all for out, I got the Munsters. I did see the two Adams family movies and I thought they were fine. You know, that, that introduced me to Raul Julia and Christina Richie. And there was a Houston. Yeah. Funny. The, the, the plots of the shows don't matter though.

[00:09:17] I mean, the movies have longer plots and the Munsters. There's, it was a big deal when I was a kid, when they did like Munster go home or Munster revenge, where they had like, Oh, color movie TV specials. But like, if you've seen one episode, you've seen them all. And it's like the same things kind of happen over and over again, but you're like, you don't need to know the plots. I mean, they're very funny. You know, Herman teaches Eddie how to play baseball or when the time where he ends up handsome, you know, through some, you know, or when Sophia shows up, you know, like these,

[00:09:45] you know, or when the, you know, grandma Frump is there or something like, you don't need to know the plots. You know, we were more patient back then. Grandma Frump to have. Morgan Hamilton playing grandma. Yeah, that was, that was just got a Beverly Hillbillies vibe kind of from her. Did you ever get that? Yeah. But they're trying to send up the Beverly Hillbillies, I guess, in their own way, because they, they are already wealthy. And to think that all that tacky stuff in their house is actually pink when he's it is wilder. It's like they're.

[00:10:16] And for the rest of people who are listening, guys, we're just talking about their backstory and everything. But it is just so funny because it's just like, yeah, it's just like they kind of act all blue collar ish, even though they got all this wealth and everything. A friend of the show, James Gapsby did on the who would win show. He on the, which is a fun show where basically various iterations of characters from pop culture, comics, books, movies, TV, video games all fight each other.

[00:10:43] They did a Munsters and Addams Family face off and it was close. It was really close. But why do we have to have this competition? You know, it was just a fun reason. I know, but there's there's constantly a thing like that. Munsters or Addams, like it used to be Star Wars or Star Trek, you know, and it's like, but they're both awesome. You could interchange them. Yeah, no, I don't have a problem with them. I didn't watch any of that Addams Family CGI cartoon. That just looks kind of like. No, I haven't. I watched these newer.

[00:11:13] I watched the cartoon in the 70s. Oh yeah, there was a 70s cartoon. But yeah, this was like recent. And yeah, that was during the 2010s when I was getting just very sick of giant beloved actors just being their names being plastered onto projects. And it's like, see, but nothing went into this plot. There's nothing about the concept that makes you want to see this. Now it's jarring. It doesn't work out right. Like I haven't followed the Netflix one. But before that, they had the Rob Zombie. You think? I don't know.

[00:11:43] They had the Rob Zombie like Munsters movie before that. But see, I think I'm jaded because I adore Dark Shadows and the way Tim Burton did the Dark Shadows movie so wrong. So that the this. Oh, yeah. Today's sarcastic cynicism or something like you were saying that quarter of like, you know, it doesn't matter if you're handsome like your father. The only thing that matters is your character. And it's like these these ones. I don't know that they get that. Yeah. The Wednesday shows kind of just it's both gothic but kind of fun and well casted. Yeah, it's been. Yeah.

[00:12:11] But but like you're saying, yes, that Dark Shadows was one of those years like when they redid that is like, see that that's Dark Shadows is basically a serialized serious version of Munsters, you know, is this like so and you're doing you didn't get the memo. You just put Johnny Depp and make up. Yeah. No, actually, Dark Shadows really take off till Jonathan and Fred came. Oh, yeah. Are we talking about that now too? Sorry. You know, let's go for it.

[00:12:39] What I'm saying is that when they did the Dark Shadows movie, you know, I thought, OK, Tim Burton's going to do it great. You know, maybe he'll. But, you know, I watched it. I was like, the best thing about it was seeing the original cast show up. Yeah. You know, seeing Jonathan, Fred and David. David Selby. David Selby. The remaining cast come along. But yeah, that was great. But for Munsters. Yeah, I haven't seen it.

[00:13:05] All I know is a lot of people disliked it by getting a Netflix cheapie. I my aunt saw it and said, what a confusing waste of time. Gil saw it and said, I don't know that it's really a movie. And all I was that Cassandra Peterson has a cameo is like a sales agent. That's all I know. I think the one thing everybody misses. There was one on Fox in the 90s where it was the Munsters and it was well, they did the the Munsters today with John Shuck.

[00:13:34] Oh, wow. Which was really good. It ran for like three seasons. John Shuck. And then they had. And then they did the Munsters movie. Let me backtrack briefly. So those who don't know who John Shuck is. Beyond talented man, you know him as the Klingon ambassador in the Star Trek movies, you know him as for McCabe and Miss Miller, you know, for mash. Make that noise. He's the chief of police who appears on us once a while when he shows up. You've really fucked up. Yeah.

[00:14:05] Yeah. The Jade Scorpion for Woody Allen. Yeah. So he's. He rocks. But yeah, no. So I didn't know he was on that. That's awesome. And then they did a like a like a movie of the Munsters with Edward Herman playing. Really? And he was pretty good. Is that is that the Christmas one? There's like a Christmas. No, no. This is totally different. Was this before? Was this after he was the dad in Lost Boys or? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:14:33] Those are the bastard cousins of the Munsters. The misbehaving type. The scene I love is that he's in a restaurant. He's the waiter and he's helping. They put their menus down. There's Al Lewis. There's Yvonne De Carlo. There's Butch Patrick. And there's I think it was Pat, Pat Priest. And, you know, they're at the table like I want a hamburger extra right. Wow. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:15:00] I don't care, you know, because, you know, it's Al Lewis. I can't. Whenever I see Al Lewis, I just have to break into that voice of a yeah. Yeah. Didn't see any residuals. Every time you do that, I think you're doing Peter Griffin or Archie Bunker. But I understand the same kind of dialect, same kind of enunciation. I have a I have a funny story to tell. So when I was in college, I used to go to we had to go to the city to develop our film.

[00:15:29] So the place I went to was in Greenwich Village. Right. It was this little. This is before they had red rooms and. Oh, no, this is for developing. Yeah, this is before they start. Yeah. We had to go get this was actually a film you shot on a movie camera. So, you know, you had to go in there and drop it off and then get it back. Right. So I'm walking along one day and me and me and three other guys, we said, let's just drive in. We'll drop our film off. We'll come back. Okay, fine. So we're walking along. Yeah.

[00:15:59] And they're about a couple of feet in front of me. And I was just I turn around. I'm like, I see this old guy with a cigar. And he's he's outside a building. And I'm looking at the building and I'm looking at him. And I think I'm like, holy shit. It's Al Lewis. He was standing outside his restaurant. How do you even keep it together at that point? You're like, I'm looking.

[00:16:28] I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going. Holy shit. I just want to walk up to say, I mean, you big dummy, you know, but I mean, I'm just sitting there like, oh, I didn't want to. I didn't want to walk up to anyone want to say anything like, hey, you're good. Your aunt. Yeah. What about it? Want an autographed kid? You know, because, you know, but there's this there's there's a story like this little Billy West told this story says they were in the restaurant one time.

[00:16:56] This this this this this little girl walks up to him and there he is. You know, he's sitting there. He's got a cigar. And she goes, you're just can I ask you something? Where do you live? He puts down there. He's got 13 13 Mockingbird Lane. Wow. And then these two little ladies are like sitting there and they're like, could you sign your man? Yeah. Yeah. I'll sign him. And he goes, they turn.

[00:17:26] She says women like, you know, wow. Oh, he was he was fucking hilarious. I mean, if you watch when he would be on the old Howard Stern show. Yeah. You know, no, he was on the old Howard Stern show one time and they were doing this anti FCC. Grandpa, what do you have to say? Yeah, I got one thing to say. Fuck the FCC. Fuck the FCC. And he had and he always would wear like a cowboy hat.

[00:17:54] They would have these luncheons at Al Goldstein's house. And if you know, Al Goldstein was, he was the guy's in the back story for those. He did. He did. He had a magazine called screw magazine. Right. So, yeah. That guy. Yeah. Yeah. And so that. So it would be like Sylvia be Sylvia and miles and all these people are and Gilbert Godfrey said he's like, he's like, you know, one day, you know, he had the cigar and he had a cowboy

[00:18:22] hat on and like, you know, a bolero tie and, you know, Jackie with his corn poem humor. Yeah. He's talking about Jackie Martin. I loved, I loved, I loved Al Lewis because he would do, you know, he was grandpa. You did. Did he have a comedy background? I can never remember. He was in Vaudeville. Oh, so he. So that's why he was so theatrical. Yeah. I know. Yeah. And he was, he was also like a basketball. I found out about his battle. He was a basketball scout.

[00:18:52] He was. He worked. He worked. He was telling me he could have taken on the Lakers. No, he, no, he used to like scout for like colleges and shit, you know, and the pros. And he, he actually was like, he's like, Hey, one time I was at this, this school, this guy, this kid, this really tall kid. And he was a, his name was Luau Shinda. And you know what? He became Kareem Abdul Jabbar. And I saw him. I'm like, Oh my God.

[00:19:20] You know, but you love, you love grandpa. And you love Herman. Cause they're the ultimate. Like comic duo. They play off each other. You don't see that with the, you see that with, with Gomez and Morticia. Yeah. You know, the straight man who has some dry humor while monsters. I think that's, it is like, uh, he's, you know, Herman is basically, you know, a Frankenstein monster type guy. He's going, you know, slapping his head like a man child. Yeah. Stomps his foot.

[00:19:51] He does stop his foot. Yeah. It's like, he's not, he's dumb, but he's also not inarticulate. He can actually, you know, you have sentences. That's so funny. Cause that reminds me of the combination of stories here. Like there's a couple of restaurants near me that have Joe Pesci autographs on the wall. And I'm like, how did that work? Like how did you dare to go up to Joe Pesci, which then automatically makes me go the, you know, the two Utes, the two Utes.

[00:20:19] Is Joe Pesci a human version of Herman Munster? Yeah. Stopping his foot. Your, your, you know, anything else we can add on to this conversation? Anything else? Maybe it was a bad time to bring it up. Maybe it was a bad time to yell out, Hey, go home and get your fucking shine box. Yeah. I'm like, they had to tread very carefully. You know, I guess they were on good turf. That's great. What did you say to me? This guy could spit shine your shoes. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:20:47] I, well, the, the, the funny thing is, is that Butch Patrick one time I was down at the shore and there was a bakery opening up and Butch Patrick was opening up the bakery and they had the, they had the monster mobile there. I was pretty much my own self in high school. I'm just kidding. Go ahead. I'm sorry. You're walking into so many puns. I can't help myself. But yeah, it was like, it was like, like he opens up his bed and like my, my captain goes, Hey, Butch Patrick's there. I'm like, Oh, I met him already.

[00:21:16] And I'd met him before at chiller theater. Cause he's. Oh yeah. I, he had the monsters and Lidsville. Cause he was, remember he was in Lidsville when he became a teenager, the Sid and Marty Croft show with the big giant hat. The Marty Croft show. Fuck. Yeah. So for him, as far as he's concerned, yeah, it's just another alternate universe, the same kind of fantasy land playing pretend.

[00:21:40] And he did an episode of Shazam where he played a guy who like, uh, tries to get this girl from being on the track team. Cause she's a better runner than he is. And I said, I said, all you say about that movie, that episode of Shazam and he started laughing. He's like, Oh God, you saw that. I'm like, yeah. I said, well, you just keep calling it. Hey, chicky. And I'm like, geez, could you go like any, like, you know, God, the language you can see, he was laughing. I said, and all I can say about the woman playing the teacher is she looked more like

[00:22:10] Charles Nelson Riley than any teacher I ever had. She walks on the screen and I just took it. Oh, Captain Marvel. Oh, wow. It's a shame. You have to admit at some point they just had to embrace their characters. Like the little ghosty being buried in his cape. Grandpa always having his cape with them, you know? Cause it's like what you said, you know, they make the cameo together. The idea that Beverly Owens and Pat priest are just yet in the in extinguishable interchangeable. So it's like they had to come to embrace it at some point.

[00:22:39] They had to have a laugh about it. Well, I would hope they would. I would hope they would. Beverly Owen because Beverly Owen, I think left the show because she had a boyfriend. Yeah. And the boyfriend was kind of like really. Goddamn boyfriend. He's very late. He was in a band and he, she was like, I, you know, only I can work. You can't. Yeah. You know, and then we got, then we got. I thought it was better. It was better when she came in.

[00:23:09] And I remember when we hired Yvonne DiCarlo. Yeah. Yeah. Yvonne DiCarlo. Yvonne DiCarlo. Yeah. She was in the 10 commandments. And she had two good commandments on her chest. This is after she had like a stuntman husband who was like injured or paralyzed or something. Yeah. Like during a, during a movie. So she was basically like, well, I guess I have to, you know, go, go do this weird TV show now. Well, she was like a screen siren. Yeah.

[00:23:38] She had been in like a whole bunch of movies and then along comes the 10 commandments. And I'm like, I'm like, wait a minute. Lily Munster was in the 10 commandments. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 10 commandments. Yeah. Yeah. Good old. So, man. But what'd you think of the Munsters movies? Munsters go home theatrical. I like them. I like them. They're fun. Yeah. They've been remastered by shot factory for Blu-ray. So for those who want to introduce.

[00:24:07] Because at that, at that point they could get their color and their makeup. Correct. And everything. Yeah. You know, she, she's got grandpa's the wolf. That's how they're on the, the, the ship. Yeah. He's like the stole. No, did they ever call? I don't think so. I don't think. No, they never did. That's a very, a very long time ago. Story time. I would see them on my 27 network. I know you're under Fox affiliates, but yeah, I never really saw them on TV land. I'm sure they were. I was a Suncoast motion picture company.

[00:24:36] That's the day of the video store where I had worked. And it was right at the time. Yeah. It was right at the time where like, yeah, but which Nigerian genie were coming out. They were still full screen, wide screen HD DVD, like the UMD disc. And there were people who wanted like the colorized seasons or they'd be upset. Like they'd returned bewitched to be like, it's black and white. You know, like that's what it was for the first half of the show. You know, 66. It kind of looks even funnier in all honesty, because it's spooky, but it's a period.

[00:25:06] Like I dream of genie was one of the last shows to be colorized again because of like the technical things with like her smoke and her, her poof at her bottle. Yeah. I think there's only, I think bewitched is the first two seasons. I dream of genie is I think halfway through the first season or the first season it becomes color because NBC made it. They were like NBC in color.

[00:25:32] You know, that's why when you see Star Trek and you know, when they, when you see the original. It was in black and white. Crazy. It was all, you know, they were, they were filming in color back then. And, you know, with ABC, they were, let me think about, because I'm thinking I, my three sons was on ABC first. Hmm. And they moved to CBS. And when they popped over a color after the 66 season, you know, everybody went, Oh, wow. You know, that's what the kids look like. You know, shit.

[00:26:01] Dark shadows makes a big announcement when it finally says now in color, but then half the color episodes are lost. So they use like the kinescope. So you end up with this back and forth. Yes. We're watching a black and white recording of it was a show. Yeah. Yeah. I had to, man. I had to. I still laugh a little bit at like when, and then that, you know, you think about, you know, when they went off the air, the, the, the monsters and the Adams family, it's born the groovy. Goolies.

[00:26:28] You know, the groovy goolies, the monster club with Fred Grandy. Oh, wow. 1970. Yeah. Drag pack. I did not know that one for some reason. I just didn't show up for some reason. That's the, the, the gruesomes on the Flintstones. Remember the gruesomes, you know, the failure that moved down the street. Oh, how are you, Mr. Flintstones? Let me see. You know? Oh, vaguely. Yeah. Oh yeah.

[00:26:57] They were, they were just like, I mean, they were, they were, they were doing a lot of like, you know, okay, let's just, you know, pretend this is. I kind of got that from, uh, or a hair raising hair. Oh yeah. Looney tunes kind of just that same kind of, how are you? I mean, in any time anyone's was making fun of the stalker genre. There, uh, there always did seem to be kind of a, kind of that, not directly out of his family, but just that same kind of gothicky. Hello.

[00:27:26] You know, David F. Pumpkins. Tom Hanks. I kind of get that. David F. Pumpkins. What do you do? I'm David F. Pumpkins. Same kind of, just hello. There's a third, um, uh, Adam's family movie that they did. That's what I was going to say. The one with Tim Curry. Tim Curry and Daryl Hannah. Daryl Hannah. That would have now, if you put Tim Curry. It was made for like Fox or ABC or something. Yeah.

[00:27:55] If you put Tim Curry instead of Raul Julia, it wouldn't, it will, it still would have been a great, great thing. Cause you know, he's over the top. It's fine for what it is. Yeah. And when they did. It's so weird. Yeah. It just, it's, you feel bad because like Raul Julia was so good. They initially, they didn't make a third movie out of respect. He passed away. But then you're like, but wait, this, this could have been it. This could have been it. Yeah. Despite it being brownwash, no one's offended because that just the actor just did a rare, good job.

[00:28:25] Everyone's like, well, it's all sci-fi fantasy. It doesn't matter. You know, just. So he has an audio book of a Christmas Carol. That's excellent. And it's like all too. Yeah. Yeah. As Scrooge, you're like, oh, that would have been so awesome. That's cool. I don't want to see him punching my legs in. Get off my lawn. I could. I think the thing I love the most is like, you know, and then they had the Addams Family TV show, the live action TV show. And then who's up in it.

[00:28:52] But, you know, John, John, John Astin, you know, as the uncle, you know, and they were like, you know, they're like, you know, they couldn't get Ken Weatherwax or, you know, Lori, what was her face? The one who played Tuesday or Wednesday. Oh, she knows the way. Oh, shoot. Yeah. She's passed away. Lisa Loring. Lisa Loring. You know, yeah. Yeah. Um, Aston. Yeah. John Astin showed up and it was like, you know, it was kind of like a call back to him

[00:29:20] being, he's always going to be to me, Gomez, you know, I mean, even though you got Raul Julia, yeah, to me is always going to be John Astin because he was like, Academy, that's French. Speak to me, Tish, you know, I'll agree. I'll agree with you because even though I'm limited in what I've seen of Addams Family, like Raul Julia, when I think of what he's so great at, like, I kind of think of some of those HBO and Showtime films he did before he left us. I think of Tequila Sunrise and Presumed Innocent.

[00:29:50] And just it's so funny because you were talking about like the BFFs with like Herman. And like I said, you could really see it on Car 54. Where are you? I've seen Herman and Grandpa. And then like Gomez and Martisha in the show never kiss the entire time. He'll do like her hand, her shoulder. And you're like, yes, they had such chemistry that you don't even think about it. You don't even notice. But then the difference of like, I always think of like, in the, it's the first Addams Family when the kids are putting on their play and they're doing like the auction and they're

[00:30:18] getting all excited in the bidding and you just hear her like moaning. Yeah. Right. I mean, if you want, I mean, there might be a rule. There might be a rule 34 fan fiction out there. I'm just saying. Yeah. And Debbie and Adam, his lips are busy. His lips are busy. His lips are busy. Wow. The thing I love is the show in the monsters. It shows Herman and Lily as a loving couple, you know, she would always kiss him goodbye. It's not accurate.

[00:30:47] What is that trivia of like they were not the first couple to be shown in bed together on TV? No, no. Because I know that. I love Lucy, right? Yeah. I love, no, no. I love Lucy with separate beds. Mm-hmm. It was. They couldn't say she was pregnant. She was suspecting. Oh, that's right. That's right. So it was more implied. So I think it was the Dick Van Dyke show. They were. Hold on. I'll look it up now. You know, like I can remember like, well, my favorite is, you know, the watching the Brady

[00:31:15] bunch and then realize they don't have a toilet in the house. And it's so funny. I was thinking that earlier of like the 90s movies got that tone, right? The Brady. There were the two Brady bunch movies too. Like this whole fish out of water, but they're still their own family. Yeah. Adapting TV movies. You know, which one wasn't car 54. Where are you? But no, I know what you mean, but. They had me in it. Shut up. I know. I know. So to answer your question. I was in there. I did a cameo.

[00:31:44] That 50 grand. Oh, I'm not. It's both a good munch. And it was Michael Klein hit. Um, so, um, the 1947, uh, live sitcom, Mary Kate and Johnny was the first TV show to have a single. And see, like, like you guys are saying, I was, I thought it was under Dick Van Dyke or I love Lucy showed up bad or something. It's like, no, ah, shit. The difference in time. How like, yeah, the monster didn't matter. I think it's just cause we.

[00:32:12] But it goes back to what Christian is saying because the, everyone is so charming. So charismatic. I've. I, it's kind of like when you see a movie that's implying violence, but not showing it is like, it just feels like I'm seeing more than I actually am. It's just that charming. The difference in society, what was happening at the time, like in the late 60s, it was okay to be funny with the Munsters and the Addis family. But then yet they couldn't have Mary Tyler Moore on her show be divorced because they

[00:32:41] were afraid that people thought she would have been divorced from Dick Van Dyke. Yeah, that was. But the thing I loved about. And it's still happening. People can't separate the role. Uh, what's their face? Uh, Jenna Fisher and, um, oh, uh, John Krasinski. Yeah. They still will get stopped by people and say, why'd you break up with so-and-so? It's like, it's a character. I play on the sitcom, the office 20 years ago. What?

[00:33:08] I think the thing I've always loved about watching those shows was the beginnings was like, you know, the, that it gets you. It's, it's the right kind of, I don't want to say campy. That makes it sound like it's trashy. It's kind of just, it's comedic, keeping you in suspense kind of. I was thinking this the other day, cause I was, I watched all the Vincent Price, like all the old, you know, Roger Corman, like hammer. All there, all there's kind of, and like we, we say they're so campy, but they played it

[00:33:38] straight. Yeah. So it's like, I don't know that they weren't doing like our today's sardonic, sarcastic winks at the cameras all the time. It wasn't like even dead. They were just within their own world. And like there's quotes of like interviews with Peter Cushing saying of like, I have to believe it. I have to play it serious in order for the audience to go along with it. It's like, I think we lost that. And you're like, I'm getting this out of the, out of the stupid TV shows. We're having actors do bloopers and keeping them in. And it's like, see, that's not deliberately trashy. That doesn't really work.

[00:34:05] This is like Shatner, you know, when they did, when they did the Raven, you know, he's playing it straight, but then there's this point where you're sitting there going, you know, he has to play it straight, but he has to be, it has to be funny when him and Karloff are having the duel. You know, my husband's like, I don't remember this in the poem. I'm like, shut up. That's not the point. Shut your beak.

[00:34:31] You know, like you see, like if you see Matt, if you see the beach, the beach movies, right? Yeah. Oh, yes. Peter Lorre's in one. And then I think it's Muscle Beach. And they're in the Dr. Goldfoot in the bikini machine. Yeah. Yeah. You're like, yeah. And the Crypt Keeper from Tells from the Crypt is totally like a gothic. He's somewhere in that cellar, probably doing his mission of telling a story. But the thing I love is like, you know, Vincent Price is in one of the in one of the beach party movies.

[00:35:01] And it's like at the end says, I have to get the Raven. And it's like, oh, it's like, you know, and then and then knows much. And then they had William Asher directed one of them. I guess he makes an appearance in it. Of course. Elizabeth Montgomery. Yeah. I try my husband crazy. I try and tell him when I'm watching Falcon Crest, I'm like, look, I'm like, this is Elizabeth Montgomery's like second husband in real life. And I'm like, and here's David Selby is on this show, too. Don't forget. He's quitting. And my husband's like, I'm so confused.

[00:35:31] And I'm like, don't forget. I'm like, we'll jump to dynasty. We'll jump to Falcon, John Saxon's and dynasty and Falcon Crest. He's like, stop. I'm like, hey, man, there wasn't a lot of people on TV back in the day. They just bounced from my show. My father, my father let it slip to my grandma about Rock Hudson. Yeah. Yes. Because because it was it was it was dynasty. And my grandmother says, oh, I watched dynasty. I watched parts of dynasty the other night because Rock Hudson was on.

[00:36:00] And, you know, he doesn't look too good. And my father says, my father says, he just said, he said, yeah, I hate to tell you this bet. I think he's sick. And my grandmother says, oh, no, he's not sick, not sick at all. And then my mother, my father goes to me as he's leaving. There's this, you know, your brother and I used to watch repeats of Macmillan and life. You used to call it. I love that. No, Macmillan and beard. Oh, wow. Oh, that's that's so funny.

[00:36:30] As all my children was on Michael Nader later with the goatee. And he also died of AIDS. Yeah, it was like he was on the show the whole time kissing Alexis Joan Collins. But the scandal where they were like, oh, Rock Hudson can't kiss Linda Evans if he has AIDS. She knows. And she was she got she got paranoid. She was like, I got to get tested. And they're like, no, no, you're you're fine. You're fine. But I can remember had to like literally had like spit in your mouth. Like, yeah, a gallon of spit. Yeah, blood.

[00:37:00] What it was later was that Doris Day. Remember Doris Day had that show Doris Day and friends. And he came on big crush. And my mother, my mother went, oh, my God. And my father's like, what's the matter? What's the matter? Did you see this? And my mother goes, what? Turn it on. Turn it on. She's like, she's like, so it sounds like your mom. Yeah, my mom was like, turn it on. She's like, OK. And there's Rock Hudson like looking like, you know, like, you know, skeletal as shit.

[00:37:27] And she's she's like, I think he has cancer. And my father's going, I think so, too. And then it's like all of a sudden the rumors start to generate. Yeah. And my aunt, who's in who lives in Los Angeles, who, you know, want to hang around with, you know, people she knew who Rock. Yeah, he had AIDS. He got it. Remember how we made time for both TV and entertainment tonight type breaking stories, guys? It's a thing back then.

[00:37:56] But yeah, you'll you'll love. I've pimped the hell out of this podcast before. I have no affiliation with them. I haven't even contacted the owner, but Hollywood Obsessed has been doing a lot of great interviews with all kinds of people. Journalism from film historians to other people. And I really dug the Jack Scalia interview and he just taught was talking back and forth. It's like, oh, Rock, I'm a straight man. But I love that man. I love that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. To me. The devil in connection.

[00:38:26] Yeah. Which was the show they did together where he was. He was like, he taught me how to actually like. Yeah. Function wear a suit. Just be normal. And the thing was, was that when when the devil in connection, he had a bypass. He had had a heart attack and he had. It was really. So what they think happened was, was that back then they weren't screening blood. Transfusion.

[00:38:53] So they think he might have been HIV positive after the bypass. And that's why, you know, you know, they're like, but he was, you know, he was my aunt was like, yeah, he was, he was gay. You know, my grandmother, my grandmother. They were being polite, but yet they said the gay cancer. Yeah. The gay cancer. Yeah. Yeah. That's what it was like. I can't remember. Um, it was, who was it? It was rock Hudson, Amanda Blake. And they're like, Amanda Blake died of AIDS. Yeah.

[00:39:23] Gun smoke. Yeah. She, she got it from her, her, her husband, lavender probably. Yeah. And then my husband on dark shadows, he looks at these men and I'm like, and he's like, what happened to this dude? What happened to that? He died of AIDS. He died of AIDS. He died of AIDS. He died of AIDS. Um, you know, um, who was it also the guy from Falcon crest, the black guy. Oh, uh, died of AIDS. Yeah. Um, Larry, that guy. God, I forgot.

[00:39:52] Yeah. Larry Bird. He was sick. He was sick. He was sick and he was still on the show. And then Brad, what's what called the guy from midnight express. Oh, Brad Davis. Yeah. Brad Davis died of AIDS. You know, I can remember like, you know, I don't remember. You know, they were like, and then, you know, there's, you know, there's, there's a guy who doesn't have it. There's Larry Mishma. I think that's him. Yeah. Okay. Cause I remember he wore glasses. I remember he wore glasses.

[00:40:19] So did everyone involved with either of these shows, uh, have a good passing or was it also pretty rough to connect it? And I know Carolyn Jones died of cancer. Yeah. Um, Jackie Coogan died of a heart attack, but he was, he did more than just then, uh, Uncle Fester. You know, he had that child, uh, law to child. Yeah. His, his, his son is his grandson is Keith Coogan.

[00:40:49] Who, you know, from adventures and babysitting. Wow. Yeah. So his grant, the Coogan laws basically what it was, is that his parents, um, basically took his money when he was a kid, he was like the number one child star in America. He started with Charlie Chaplin in the kid, which is one of Charlie Chaplin's greatest movies. Yeah. You know, for the silent era. Um, and then he passed away of, I think of a heart attack.

[00:41:18] Um, uh, what was it? Uh, the one who played Ken Weatherwax died of a drug overdose. Yeah. It's, it's like, uh, we watch these as comfort shows. Like, I think you could just put these on, have them in the background except for family affair. My husband's like, he's like, no, he's like, I can't look at this show anymore. Knowing what I know about this entire cast is the tragedy that followed that. The only ones that are still alive are Sissy and Jody. Yeah.

[00:41:48] But think of the trauma they went through. I mean, like, he's like, I can't believe she's like, she's like 15 and they got her bound up because she's supposed to be perpetually eight years old. Yeah. Yeah. Johnny Whitaker said he's like, he's like her mother. They, they were going to let her grow up. And her mother's like, no, no, no, we can't have her grow up. And she was developing and they had her like basically bound up like a, like a, you know, I don't want to say it, but like a, you know, like, you know, bound up like Frankenstein. And Johnny Whitaker's like, I'm going through a growth spurt. She's going through.

[00:42:18] And then when the show went off the air, she kind of like just said, I want us to be a normal kid again. And, and unfortunately, you know, she fell in with the wrong crowd. He took, he told it where she, she was at some party. And they were at the, she was at the party and she, she basically OD'd on, I don't know what she passed away from, you know, but she overdosed. Yeah.

[00:42:46] And it's, you know, Anissa Jones, she was only like 19 or 18. I don't know. 16. I don't know. Anissa Jones star family affair dies of drug overdose, you know, he was broken up by it. And so was Kathy Garver. Kathy Garver was like, I, you know, I couldn't believe it. You know, her mom was from what I understand her mom was Hollywood parents. Yeah. You know, Johnny Whitaker's parents were like, you want to take this job? Go ahead. I'm not stopping. You know, you want to do Sigmund and the sea monsters. Go ahead.

[00:43:16] You want to do Tom Stewart. Go ahead. Money for college. You know, he, you know, he, he kind of, he kind of came out. All right. You know, but the Lisa Loring, I think died of cancer. And grandma, grandma, grandma, ma died of, I think of a heart attack. And then when it comes to the monsters, Fred Gwynn, unfortunately died of cancer right after

[00:43:45] my cousin Vinny came out. Pet cemetery was right before that. Yeah. Yeah. And then, you know, Al Lewis said, I, I saw him in the hospital. I said, why couldn't you just catch a cold? You know, he was just to make him laugh, you know, and then. The difference though, as we're getting all the sad topics out here, but I mean, as a kid, I mean, I already knew these were old and then to see them a little bit older, to see

[00:44:11] them pass away in the eighties, you know, you expected, but then getting up to like seeing everybody in Mary Tyler Moore show dies is seeing everybody in the old seeing the golden girls are all gone. You know, now you're like, oh, that hurts. That one five same thing where you're just like, she's Star Trek. Star Trek, the only ones that are left are Kirk. Bob Newhart. Bob Newhart. Bob Newhart. The only one who's left is, uh, Bob Newhart. The only one who's left is, uh, what should we call it? The dentist, Jerry. Yeah.

[00:44:41] At least some of the horror or sci-fi ones, we could just assume, hey, that's a hologram or that's their ghost talking to us. But I know what you mean. Where it's just like, oh, this is sad. And then when I look back at shows I loved growing up, but now can't stand to watch because the scandals like Cosby show is just like, ah, you know, it's just like. Hogan's Heroes. I was talking to the sitcom channel on Reddit or Blue Sky or something. Yeah. It's like, you know, they were like, oh, World War II. I'm like, yeah. I'm like, L.O.L.O. was definitely far better than Hogan's Heroes. Yeah.

[00:45:11] And then it's like, but to think number one, how not that far removed from the war, they already made comedies about it. And then it's like, oh, by the way, look up the scandals of Bob Crane while you're at it. It's a hell of a show. Yeah. Bob Crane. Bob Crane and a leg of furniture. That's all, you know. Yeah. I, I, I, I still, I still need to think that gets me about Hogan's Heroes. When I was growing up was like, my father's, my dad told me you're going to watch.

[00:45:39] We want, my dad and I watched Starlock 17. And I'm watching and I'm like, wait a minute. This does look very familiar. And I'm like, hold on. Wait a minute. Yeah. And real wartime expatriates to play often playing the Germans and the villains. That's so wild. Um, was, um, bulk bulk culture was Leon Askin. He, he, he fled Germany. Robert Clary's family died in the Holocaust.

[00:46:08] Um, Bob Schultz. Who's it? Uh, John Banner's family. He, he fled to America and, um, which would call it, uh, Colonel Clink's family, Werner Kempler. He, he fled to America, served in world war two and the entertainment division. Right. Yeah. He's asked to play a Nazi and he's like, oh, I want to. Why? Cause they're the biggest idiots.

[00:46:36] If we can make the Nazis look like idiots, the greatest thing ever. And he, I loved Colonel Clink. And we have, we, a bunch of us who were Hogan's hero's chances wouldn't have been funny at the end of like Hogan just like gets, you know, he comes out. He goes, we want you to meet the people who are leaking all the information to it. He opens it up in their shirts. Schultz book or culture. And, and, and it's like them, they were the ones behind it all. You know, I used to love it. But I'm, I'm amazed that people can still watch it.

[00:47:05] I mean, do they, do they get that though? I think they do understand the circumstances. I think they just, again, they just, because of the whole recurring, it gives you a little hope is like, Hey, they're going to get away, but they're not going to be killed. They're going to find ways to prove no, because of your incompetence and stupidity. I did not actually attempt to escape. I just don't understand. I just don't understand. I think you go to France, come back within like six hours, you know, and be there for roll call in the morning, you know, or my favorite, one of my favorite ones is, uh,

[00:47:35] Larry Hovis dressing up as Hitler. The fool, to fool Schultz. And, uh, you know, the whole camp that he was coming, all the, you know, all the Nazis, you know, they were coming, you know, he was coming. He does Hitler like this. And it's like, you know, he said, no, I had no idea what he said, but I agreed with it. You know? Oh, it's funny. Like Dick Van Dyke show, I think was, they said they were deliberately shrewd by not doing like pop culture references. You don't hear about the Beatles or J. Yeah.

[00:48:06] In their show. So it's infinitely watchable. And the monsters and Adams do do a lot of little quips of TV references or other little political commentaries or something. That's what's wrong too. And it doesn't matter. Cause you're like, oh, it's just funny. Whatever. I guess it's something I don't get. You have a laugh track that tells you it's supposed to be funny. And it's so funny. Now speaking to golden girls fandom, where sometimes people are like, I don't get this joke. Eisenhower use less chalk plan and D day, you know, who's fast park or Glenn Miller's not dead. He's missing. And people are like, what are these references? I'm like, you know, that is going to start to be a thing that's going to happen now.

[00:48:35] People, people maybe won't get the jokes anymore. My dad, my dad had me later in life. So, you know, my mom was raised during that time. So, you know, the golden girls references I got through them, you know, and you got it, man. You got it. But when you watch like something like the monkeys, when like there's an episode, the smile came in from the cool and Davey, Davey goes to like grab the lamp and, and there's this puff of smoke, puff of smoke. This girl comes. What was your wish master? He looks at the kids.

[00:49:04] Hey, what do you know? Wrong show. Like a Batman, you know, when somebody pops out the window, you know, with their scale on the side, you're like, who is that person? Oh yeah. It doesn't matter. It's not the green Hornet. It doesn't matter. Well, Lurch was in that. Ted Cassidy was in that. Oh, Vincent Price. Yeah. Vincent Price is that. No, my favorite was a Sammy Davis Jr. Showing up. Jerry Lewis showing up. Edward G. Robinson showing up. I think everybody wanted to be on that show.

[00:49:33] I'm watching Falcon Crest and my husband's like, hey, it's the Joker. He had, they remember they painted over his mustache. I said, yeah, Cesar Romero was Cesar Romero, but another, another Latin. Yeah. Yeah. Orange wedges. Um, uh, you know, you, you got the Gilbert Gottfried reference. Yeah. That's the orange wedges. Yeah. I think the thing that cracks me up is watching Frank Gorshin on when they had, when Buck

[00:50:01] Rogers was on and it was Frank Gorshin. Um, it was Cesar Romero. Right. And then they had, who was it? It was, um, Roddy McDowell being, being blacked up a little bit as like an alien from another planet. And then, and you realize that's egghead. That's a, that's the bookworm. And then I'm trying to think. Skidoo. Skidoo. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:50:30] Skidoo has the Joker, the Riddler and the penguin. Yeah. And I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm watching this. I'm like, this is like the weird, they must've needed the money. Chico needed the money. No, um, this is the Chico. Chico needed the money. Chico needed the money. That's funny. Cause I, uh, the old Battlestar Galactica, I see people pop up on that show all the time. The Larry from Bag the PI. Yeah.

[00:50:58] Person from Diency, a person from Fakus, John Sack. I'm like, how did all these people end up on this? I'm like, okay. You had a job at actors. Okay. Well, you know, it was, it was kind of weird when you saw Fred Astaire. Yeah. And I'm like, what the fuck is Fred Astaire doing on here? That's my husband. My husband's like Jane Seymour. What is she doing here? I'm like, it's okay. She's the love interest. It dies in that first free episode. You're like, what? She, she did the Bond movie and she'd done the double Beckers. Here come the double Beckers. They're like, okay, we need her.

[00:51:26] And because I think Sinbad was the Sinbad movie kind of put her over. Yeah. And then they were like, okay, we need, you know, she needs to be this, but we're going to kill her off within four episodes. Why? Well, you know, it's just, doesn't want to commit. Try and explain it. That, that one is a Sinbad and the Out of Tiger. The one with Patrick Wayne. Yeah. The one Patrick Wayne and the one with, the one with, with Philip John Philip Law and Caroline Myrna was Sinbad and, and the Sinbad and. Does it matter? Yeah.

[00:51:55] Yeah, I know. You'll love this. My question is this. Who's the bet? Who's the better Sinbad? John Philip Law or Patrick Wayne? Is it, but Patrick Wayne was also in the, not at the earth's core. No. The people that time forgot. People that time forgot. Yes. And it's like, that came out at the same time as Star Wars. He has a good body. And you're just like, oh no, no, no, no. I think they're not given much, but I would say that Philip Law kind of like in Barbarella, he just has that angel look. Yeah.

[00:52:25] So I think he just. Angel doesn't remember. Dude. Angel doesn't remember. Christ. If I was playing in Jane Fonda, I would remember, you know? I know, but. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound rude, but you know. Well, we're always rude here, but I know what you mean. And Kristen has been all kinds of over the top, I guess. I've been on my share of shows where I've been like, oh boy, it's this kind of show, isn't it? The thing that cracks me up is you watch Skidoo.

[00:52:52] He, he always had his haircut short, John Philip Law, and he had to wear a wig. And he says his brother, who was a hippie, was like telling him, you know, how do I wear my hair? You know, he's like, he's like, he's just parted. He's like, I can't, I'm not, you know, because they just shot Barbarella and he just got in his haircut. And, you know, I remember seeing him in the Russians are coming. The Russians are coming. And the love, the love was the love machine, which he did.

[00:53:21] Jacqueline Suzanne is the love machine. And then like later I'm like, I'm watching a mystery science theater and it was a space mutiny. I'm like, you must've really been desperate for work at this point. You know, it's so funny to think that these people could do a show here and there, just regular TV episodes everywhere, a few movies and they had their careers made. Yeah. I'll get, and they slowly were adopting conventions. So it's like, yeah, cool. We'll, we'll, we'll have some fanfare. We'll write a book. Yeah.

[00:53:50] Well, Patrick McNeil appearing on freaking, uh, Battlestar Galactica, you know, John, John Steen, you know, John, John Kalkos. And I'm trying to explain to my husband, I'm like, okay, you know, the Klingon episode of Star Trek where they don't really look like Klingons. He's like, Oh, and then, and then they do show up on deep space nine later. Like, yeah, but that's the same dude. He's like, Oh, that I'm watching it. I'm watching one night. I'm watching TV. I'm like, there was this show called, um, there was a show is only on for a couple of

[00:54:20] episodes. He played the head of a network and no, no, he was, no, no, he was just called something like, um, shit. It was like only Alex cord was in it and he plays the head of the network. And I'm like, why is Baltar the head of the network? And I'm like, wait a minute. Hold on. Lucifer. Lucifer. Lucifer is Jonathan Harris, who is, you know, oh, dear boy. Oh, dear. He was lost in a role.

[00:54:50] Hey, I'm still lost in space playing this robot with a bubble head. Now I'm the bubble headed booby. Uh, you'll love this though. There's this gal who I was following on Facebook, who kind of has. I'm sorry to these imitations. They just come out of me. Why would we be? No. Okay. We love them. That's why we all been doing this shows a lot. We all get along anyway. So anyway, but, uh, there was this gal who was starting up her own kind of horror host

[00:55:20] kind of show she was streaming you live and everything. And I make the mistake of going, oh, so you're imitating the Elvira look. And she's like, hell no. I'm like, and then, and then she gives a disclaimer. I'm a fan, but come on, man. It's after vampire and play night from outer space. And, but then again, so funny. I'm like, oh, oh, that makes it totally different. Yeah, it's totally different. But I'm like, I'm still, are you sure it's not Martisha Adams? I'm just not getting a vampire. Uh, like nothing personal.

[00:55:49] I think you're doing a good job. It's just, I just didn't get that. It's just like, I, my, my mind doesn't instantly go to plan nine from outer space, unless it's a really, really campy kind of show. So. I shouldn't take tour Johnson, you know, like, like, like I couldn't like, when you talk about people who were on TV, I was watching Andy, Andy Griffiths one night. Right. And watching Andy Griffiths and this young man comes on and it's Jack Nicholson.

[00:56:18] And I turned to my father-in-law and I said, you wonder if his career went anywhere after this? It's like Reynolds being a gun smoke when he played the Raven with my husband. He's like, he's like, wait a minute. Is that Jack Nicholson? I'm like, yes, of course. Yeah. I was that way too. I did a run through a Kojak, still a masterpiece, but I'm guffawing at the episode where a young Stallone plays a cop who accidentally kills a kid in a drug scene.

[00:56:45] I'm like, oh, he never went ballistic in any show, but in movie. Yeah. But I mean, it is funny though, when you get to that point and you're seeing these, they're not known faces. Oh, Martin Sheen, Robert DeFauld. Yeah. They didn't amount to much. Did they? He's like, no. Well, you know, seeing James Conn and no seeing Harrison Ford. Yes. In a Western called Journey to the Shiloh. And I'm like, West, he's in a fucking way.

[00:57:12] And then you see him in, you see him in another movie called Getting Straight with Elliot Gould and Candace Bergen. And he plays the, like the campus revolutionary guy. And I mean, I've, I'm like watching Getting Straight. I'm like, okay, this is a good movie. You know, Elliot Gould coming right off the map. Richard Raj. Hey. You're watching, you're like, you're like, oh, good movie. Hey, there's Han Solo. You know, it's like, I couldn't believe like, like when people were starting out in their,

[00:57:42] you know, they would do like, you know, like TV shows and stuff like that. I mean, there's a, there's, there's something I was like watching the Munsters and seeing Dom DeLuise in it. Yeah. Oh my God. And seeing Paul, Paul Lind in the Munsters. Which, which Carradine, John Carradine was the funeral director. Yes. Was he really? Oh my God. Yeah, the Munsters. Good body, good body. Graves was a good body. What was it?

[00:58:08] It was something Graves, good body and something or a, and he's like, he's like, all right, Herman, I want you to do me a favor. You know, you need to share. Herman was his best worker, you know, like when they're, when he plays the tricks, when him and grandpa play the pranks on the guy playing at the pranks on Herman all the time, you know, that was a great episode, you know, but I can't. The funeral parlor. Yeah. Yeah. They leaned into showing it more and you're like, good, good. Okay.

[00:58:33] We've John Carradine, the guy who played, you know, so many, you know, was in the Ten Commandments. Hey, you know, Ten Commandments. And he was in, you know, he was in, then he does, you know, Red Zone Cuba, you know, like nine years later, you know, it took me forever as a kid to realize I liked King Creole is my favorite Elvis movie. It's the only kind of serious movie. There's a reason the music is there. It's the one where he's not shaking his thighs as much. It's Carolyn Jones is in that. It took me forever to realize.

[00:59:03] Oh, wait, that's it. This is Morticia. Okay. Yeah. That took me forever to realize. And my husband said this when he was watching Are You Being Served? He's like, he's like, I get what she's saying in Dallas. I get the Dallas references. He's like, but Mrs. Slocum's always talking about Steve McQueen. Who's Steve McQueen? And I'm thinking, wait, you've never, The Great Escape. I'm like, come on. I'm like, you know, and then I'm like, I'm like, wait, I'm like, you've seen Wanted Dead or Alive. Yeah. I'm like, he had the mayor's leg. I'm like, not the rifleman, not Chuck Connors. No, not Chuck Connors. And he's looking at me. He had the hogs leg. He had the hogs leg.

[00:59:33] He's like all these, he's like all those Westerns blend together. I'm like, really? Rawhide? Clint Eastwood? He's like, I don't remember this. He's like that. Try watching Wagon Train with Ward Bond and then he dies happily through and you're like, what the fuck? This just went on forever. Gunsmoke forever. Hey, I used to watch Tales of Wells Fargo and I didn't realize the guy from Tales from Wells Fargo was the guy who played J.J. Starbuck. And I'm like, wait a minute. I know that guy. That guy looks really familiar. He's like, oh, that's just the guy. I don't like, wait a minute.

[01:00:03] Hold on. Wait, wait, hold on. That's J.J. Starbuck. What the fuck? You know, it's the funniest thing. We used to leave the rifleman on the TV because our cat watched it. I think he liked seeing the horses, maybe the movement, the actors. And so eventually my husband says to me, he's like, I don't care if I ever see the show again. He said every single episode, one or the other of them is hurt, sick or kidnapped. And the other one has to rescue him. And he's like, and the show went on for five years and has hundreds of episodes. He's like, you gotta be kidding me. I said, man, you don't understand.

[01:00:31] I'm like, man, he was a single dad in the sixties. Like, come on. Yeah. Lucas McCain, you know, Lucas McCain and his son. And the son was like, I think the son was like one of the musketeers or something like that. Oh, wow. And then you realize later, like he would, he would do movies like that village of the giants. And he did the naked eight Johnny, Johnny Crawford. Yeah.

[01:00:56] You know, and then who was, who was, who was the one that was in Merlin Jones and shit. He was in, he was in a Catalina caper. Oh, I think I know. We thinking of Tommy Kirk, Tommy Kirk.

[01:01:21] So, so there's a scene in village of the giants where Tommy Kirk's making out with a girl and Crow goes, that's some of the best acting Tommy's ever done. And I didn't get that joke at first till somebody told me later. And I was like, Oh, okay. I got it now. You know, he got, he got picked out of Disney for, for no, for busted for pop. And he was like, you don't mess with the mouse. Yeah.

[01:01:47] And they, they, they kicked him out and then they brought him back for Merlin Jones. Yeah. And then he was old. Yeah. I remember him and old yeller. And you're like, yeah, Tommy. Yeah. I'm old yeller. Remember that was a lifetime. He said that when he did, uh, was Anna green, was Pollyanna that whatchamacallit hated the kids. Jane Wyman. Wow. She hated the kid. Oh, he's like, Oh, she hated us all. I'm like, really? Okay. You know, why, you know, um,

[01:02:17] Why? Why did they hate you? You know, you flubber and son of flubber. You tried doing those too, you know, um, You're playing and you and, and, and. I'm glad this wasn't a Disney property though. On that note, because then they would have sunk it into the ground. They would have oversaturated it and then said, let's add cartoons to cover up the lack of substance. The thing I love is a Keenan wind playing the same character and like flubber and the love bug. Did you ever know that? I didn't know that.

[01:02:48] Yeah. He plays the same. I liked it when it was called shitty, shitty bang, bang. Yeah. Oh, that, that got me with the fricking child catcher. Ian. Yeah. The child catcher was Robert Hempel. And then it was Robert Hempel was in a lot of those, uh, pressed burger movies, but you know, the ones that have like a really saturated right. Yeah. Those movies, he was in a bunch of them. And I didn't realize later he was like, he was like a really, uh, he was really funny,

[01:03:17] but they said the child catcher. I always, I did this thing one time. I said, imagine if shitty, shitty bang, bang, like Bruce Wayne was in the vulgarian. He says like, the kids are getting kidnapped. And then you just, you just, you see, I have lollipop. And he kidnaps the kids also here. You're like, you're not going to take them away today. And you just see the child catcher, the child catcher like strung up upside down with a note saying,

[01:03:41] I'm with, I'm with Caracatus and me and Caracatus and truly, and truly sweets are coming for you. Signed the Batman, you know, and we're just like, I just had that. I have, I did a mimic and he says, yeah, I have lollipops, ice cream. And I got a fish that's pointed right at your face. You know? Oh, wow. I wanted to do that. I wanted to do a film where the child catcher shows up and, and got him. And it's bad.

[01:04:10] It's like the Scooby Doo episodes of Batman and the Harlem Groove Trotters. Oh my goodness. And Mama Cass. Oh, the Mama Cass one. Yeah. Davy Jones. Yeah. Jonathan Winters. You know, I always wanted to do one with the Milton Berle. That would have been hilarious. He and Larry's imitating the infamous. See, that's something like the Golden Girls, the joke where they're like, oh, your, your father called it Uncle Mitty. People won't get that today. People won't get it.

[01:04:36] You gotta have Ted Knight be the bumbling idiot henchman though. Oh yeah. Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho. I love too close for comfort too. There you go. Hi, Mr. Resch. On row. On row. I know what they're doing down there. They're having a party. They're having a party there. They're waiting. You know that, don't you? Don't you? Don't you have a party. His little tiptoe. Yeah. They'd be like, you know, Henry, Henry, don't worry. They'll be fine. This is the police. All right. I'm going down there. You know.

[01:05:07] I love that show, but it kind of jumped the shark for me when he went back and you start owning the paper again. Yeah. They rechanged it. It was originally the Ted Knight show, but then he's passed away. So they just packaged it together now. Did you guys ever see that sister show, Empty Nest? Yes. I always kind of got, what's his name? The head guy on that Richard Mulligan kind of. Richard Mulligan. And that same kind of aura of just. Okay. Okay.

[01:05:33] The thing I loved about that was that the pilot for that was done on the whole world. Oh yeah. First it's like the one with Rita Moreno and you're like, this is horrible. It's one of the worst episodes of the show, but then they have them all crossing over together. And you think, yeah, Empty Nest and nurses are available anywhere. Oh. Like this is a great way. Yeah. Rita did her job. She was used to being on the west side. Yeah. Because Park Overall's character went to nurses. Mm-hmm. And then, because Empty Nest went off the air. And I think it was like just about to go off the air when nurses started.

[01:06:03] Yeah. And all I remember is one of the guys from that movie, Delirious, played the smart-alecky nurse in that. The blonde-haired guy. David Rash. Yeah. David Rash was in that show. Oh yeah. I like that dude. Sledgehammer. Oh yeah. He was great at Sledgehammer. Jesus. Don't worry. I've got this everything. It's baffling. Like now there's like a, there's like a Roku livestream channel now that's like AI content. It's like, fuck that.

[01:06:30] It's like all these shows that you could have, like infinitely running, like back to back. Like why? Like, again, me with the soaps. It's like, like there is like a general hospital channel, but it's only shows like the last few years. And I'm like, where's the 60 years worth of the show? We want the classic show, man. Like let it play. Where's Johnny Berendino? Where's Johnny Berendino? Where's, where's, where's, where's Roy Finnis? What's the name of the guy, the one German actor who was on all those different soaps

[01:06:59] and was in Planet of the Apes? Eric Braden. Eric Braden. Yeah. Eric Braden channel. They should have a Judith light channel. They should have a, uh, uh, hell, uh, Robbie Benson channel. Perfect. Let's just do it. Let's have a Rob Lowe channel. Let's have every other TV. I have, I have the best thing is the Robbie Benson. The Robbie Benson channel is, uh, um, the Robbie Benson channel is one on one, uh, Jeremy

[01:07:29] and, uh, uh, die laughing and laughing and the chosen and, uh, you know, and the die laughing is one of those movies that I love because it's like, it was Bud Quartz movie after he came back from his car accident. Yes. And he was all sparred up. And all I remember is like, like the guy was like, cause you realize he has a cast on his hand and shit and his hand was still, and the director was going, you can work, you know, you can do better than that. He's like, come on, I'm hurt, man.

[01:07:59] And Robbie Benson had to like step in and be like, look, he just got out of a fucking car accident. Leave him alone. You know? And then they should have the Bud Quartz channel. The Bud Quartz channel should just be like, like, but I love my favorite. One of my favorite movies all time is, is, um, Brewster McCloud. All right. I love Brewster McCloud. It's just a strange movie to watch, but I love watching it, you know? Oh, and the rivalry, we will just call it Munster slash, uh, uh, Adam's channel. Boom.

[01:08:29] They, they belong together. It's of course, of course, right to choose. Well, now we've got to say, sing it romantically. We belong together. Well, uh, and now it's Pluto TV, I guess is the parent company CBS, I guess what the Adam's family. So they've got an Adam's family live stream channel that plays over and over and it's only what's not 65 episodes. 35 episodes. Yeah. And then when they feel like it seasonally, they pop up a dark shadows channel. And my, even my, even my husband is like how many, there's like 1200 episodes of dark shadows

[01:08:58] and they don't show it all the time. He's like, but they just repeat the Adam's family basically every other day. Wow. It's like, it's like the love boat. You can tell the love boat. The love boat. Yeah. You know, it's like, you can tell the ones that are, I like the one where the ship sinks. Oh, I like the one where Vicky had her period. No, I'm just kidding. Oh, wow. Hey, don't laugh. Don't laugh. Don't laugh. I met, I met Joe, I met Joe Whelan in real life.

[01:09:26] And I was like, I was like, Oh, it's no, yeah. I was like Joe Whelan. And I'm like, I'm looking at, Oh, Joe Whelan, Vicky from the love boat. And I look up and I went, Hachi, Machi, you know, cause I couldn't believe how fucking beautiful she looked. I was like, Holy crap. And I'm like, um, you know what my favorite thing you ever did was? She's like, what is it when you were in airplane and she started cracking? And she did the thing with the. Did she really? Oh yeah. I was like, how the hell?

[01:09:53] I mean, here you are and you're with Joyce Bufant, who was Murray Slaughter's wife on the new time. And you're like, she's trying to plug it back in. And you're like, and then, you know, what's your call? Lana, Lana, she hits the guitar and you're like, you know, you're trying to put the IV back in, you know, I just think that was so funny to watch you do that. She's like, it had to stay. She's I think she told me it took her like five or six takes to do that because they kept doing play it up more, play it up.

[01:10:22] You know, that was, and then I met Bernie Coppell and everybody was asking for doc, you know, the doc, you know, doc on a, on a, you know, well, I said, do you have any Siegfried from get smart? He's like, you're the first guy who said that today. I said, and please put, I won't be the last. And this is chaos. We don't around here.

[01:10:49] And I said, and I said, there's one line I love. And he says, when you say, you know, it's this is Mr. Smart. He says, it's a gun. I've got one to Siegfried. You go. It was just. Wow. I asked, I asked him about needles and pins, which is show he did before the love boat. It was, it was, this is the cast. It's Norman fell.

[01:11:14] Um, him and Norman fell him and, uh, Louie Nye. And I forgot who else was in it. And he says that ran for 13 episodes. It was a good show. I don't know. And he says it's ratings. They put us on opposite this other show. And they thought we were going to be like, you know, bigger than big. And then it just tanks. It's like, it's like Paul Sands and, uh, uh, sons and lover friends and lovers. Right. Paul Sands. Sure.

[01:11:42] You know, Paul said funny guy. And, you know, it's, you know, Steve Landenberg's in it. And, you know, it's all these, you know, it's a good show. And it only lasts like, you know, you know, set, you know, eight up, 10, 13 episodes. Well, it's the most bizarre, infamous show you saw be syndicated where you're like, Whoa, they must have really nothing good to show if they're showing this. Oh God. Um, but that's what's baffling when shows are missing. Like Sally field said, like, she loved being on Gidget and hated being on the flying nun. Yeah. But yeah. Gidget, Gidget.

[01:12:12] The flying nun. I've seen it definitely seen people. Gidget is only on one seasons. Two seasons. Two seasons for Gidget. Five seasons, like four or five seasons for the flying nun. And people were talking about civil. And neither, neither of them are readily available now. Well, the flying nun used to be on, uh, the, the family channel. And then it was on me TV because, you know, the family channel was, you know, the, the, the

[01:12:42] Christian broadcasting station. And they were like, Oh, we have to have something just out there. We had, we had, well, you know, they had kids. They would have kids incorporated. You gotta fly baby. Fly. They'd have, they'd have two episodes of kids incorporated on, on Sunday. And then the applause are the flying nun. So I'd watch it. Wow. There's a deep cut. Um, and then my mind is blown at how many people were at one time part of that or the Yeah. Yeah.

[01:13:08] And you're just like, and, but you don't, half of them, you don't really associate with that. You're just like, Oh yeah. Nickelodeon Disney kid, but not really starring in stuff of that type anymore. They kind of did their own thing. So you're just, I do kind of wonder how agents were going all the way back to the forties versus now. Cause I do think a lot of that plays with the success, you know, it's like they ask for pay raises. So they, yeah. Retaliation studios say, you know what? We're good. We're just canceling you after two years.

[01:13:36] And now that they've changed syndication to be four years versus two. Yeah. I think that's what's so crazy. I mean, I wish my grandparents were still alive because they would have probably been just so crazy about a lot of the stuff that was on cable, like Yellowstone. And then that got syndicated onto the U S because then we would have the, me and my sister would have been laughing behind their back. Like what's so funny. Oh, they cut that scene for violence or sex. So you're seeing it neutered. You're seeing it. It's watchable.

[01:14:05] It's doable, but yeah. And, and the Sopranos. Yeah. That was the worst on A and E flip you and trying to censor the strip club. You're just like, I'm not sure what's actually happening here. It's just like some stuff. We'll return after these messages. We got a 90 minute weekly shack stop growing all over the world.

Do you ever find yourself thinking about who would win in a fight between Goku and Superman? Hi, I'm James Gavsey and on the Who Would Win Show, me and my co-host Ray ignore anything important happening in the outside world and debate fictional battles between characters

[01:15:56] from comics, movies, and video games. We got a new show every week and almost always am I the winner. Yeah, not true Ray. In the past, we've discussed such matches as Captain America versus Darth Vader, Solid Snake versus the Iron Giant, classic matchups like Robocop versus Terminator, and even the Muppets versus Sesame Street. That one was crazy. So if you're a fan of geek culture and love a spirited debate, check out the Who Would Win Show wherever you get your podcasts, or check us out at whowouldwinshow.com.

[01:16:30] My grandma loved, I would sit with my grandma when I was younger, we'd watch Columbo and Quincy. And just one more question, James. What did you watch? Just one more thing. Just one more thing. One more thing, please. Just one more thing. What a great line. I would just like that. I love that, man. I'd just like it. So we would watch that, and then we'd watch Quincy. It's murder, Sam. Murder. You know, I would have loved to have shaken Jack Klugman's head, and I definitely would have loved to get Angela Lansbury a hug.

[01:16:58] I'd just be like, you guys are the icons of TV. Kojak and his lollipop, Cannon and his Chianti. This is what's stupid and creepy of me. I would touch Savalas' head just to make sure you, okay, cool. That's not, you are in fact, Paul. Okay. Cam's seen the picture of my grandma on Telly Savalas. My aunt was doing a, my aunt was doing a commercial for Ford.

[01:17:23] And my mom, my aunt says to my grandma, because she lives in California, my aunt says, you want to come down to the set with me? I got a surprise for you. And my grandma's like, okay, sure. So my grandma gets all, you know, nice and dressed up. You know, she's, she puts on her, you know, her, her blouse and her, you know, her pants. And she comes down there and she's like, how you doing, Betty, baby? And there's Telly Savalas. And my grandma looks like, my grandmother is like a little school girl.

[01:17:51] She's like, just looking at her eyes, like, I'm hugging Kojak. And then later, a couple of years later, she's, they're at something for the ASPCA or something like that. And there's celebrities there. And she has a picture taken with Earl Holloman from Police Woman. Right? And then she gets her picture taken with Peter Falk. And I'm like, wow. When my grandmother died, when my grandmother died, we had the memory board.

[01:18:19] We put those pictures up there. And my, my, my, my friend goes, your grandma met Peter Falk. I'm like, yeah, yeah. And she met Earl Holloman. And she's like, Earl Holloman? I go, yeah, Earl Holloman, you know, from Police Woman. Pepper, you're going undercover. You know, remember that show, Police Woman? You never watched. You've never seen it, have you? Again, another show that wasn't available for a very long time anymore. And he's finally, finally, I think it's on Tubi now.

[01:18:49] I tried to explain it to my husband again, when like, Mercury TV first came on. I kept telling him about TJ Hooker. And I'm like, no, you don't have a chance. Like William Shatner is a cop. And he's like, this was like, what? Like a 13 season, a fluke, a TV special. I'm like, no. I'm like, it was like five seasons. I'm trying to explain to him. I'm like, it's Heather Locklear. And I'm like, and I'm like, I'm like, you know, the hologram on Deep Space Nine. I'm like, he was a cop too. Yeah. Richard Darren. I'm like, no, I swear to you.

[01:19:19] Adrian's in it. Adrian's in it from Bachelor Party and Priest 2. You know what I mean? And then he finally saw it. He was like, oh my gosh. He's like, you watch these shows. He's like, all these cop shows are kind of the same. They fire and nobody gets shot. And I'm like, man, this was all we had. This is what cop shows were. It's like, before people said, is it good or bad? And you just said, I'm watching it. Yeah, it's there. I guess that's good enough.

[01:19:47] I'm like, you know, this is why we liked In the Heat of the Night so much when that came on. This is why Homicide Life of the Street revamped the entirety of cop shows. You know, I think this is why. The thing I used to love watching was, like, we were talking about my, I was telling someone, I said, you know, when I was growing up, it was like, what was the best cop show you knew growing up? I said, well, to me it was Barney Miller. Barney Miller. Barney Miller. Barney Miller. Yes.

[01:20:14] Because there were cops I know who said, that's what it was like in a station. That's what it was like. You get all these whack jobs and everything there. And Danny, Danny Arnold and Reinhold, Reinhold Luigi, the guys, Danny Arnold who created it, basically just said, we gotta make, and like the cop, who was it? Dennis Farinas. He was a cop. And he said, yeah, that was the show we all, we all kind of agreed with. You know, it was that show. And then.

[01:20:44] Yeah, I watched Barney Miller. I'd watch. Happy days, you know, which is now on Pluto. Yeah, that's everywhere. Mork and Mindy. Nano Nano. All right. Laverne and Shirley. There was a show that. So that's my only critique of today's shows is like they just need a little more Nano Nano. There was a show that came out in the 70s called Out of the Blue. Does anybody remember that show? The British crime show?

[01:21:13] It was about an angel that came to earth and lived with a family. And they did, they did the introduction on a Saturday morning. Yeah, they did the introduction on a Saturday morning because Mork and the angel had met in, you know, going through the universe. And it was like, yeah, and they did it on Saturday morning. Like who wants to watch this on a Saturday morning? I'm not watching a sitcom on a Saturday. Fuck this shit. And they all, it lasted, I think.

[01:21:44] There's a guy on, there's a guy on YouTube who does this where he talks about like the lowest rated shows on TV. And it's a fun channel. Yeah. He talks about shows like, what was it? The American Girls with Priscilla Barnes and Deborah Limer. They weren't the golden kind. Yeah. You know, there was like some shows I was just like, when the hell did this come on? Not, not Angelian. I'll shoot.

[01:22:13] And Jennifer slept here. Yeah. And Jillian. What was the other one with the, it's a living. No. Julie Newmar. Was that the one in my living doll? Yeah. My living doll. I'm Julie Newmar. Bob, Bob, Bob Cummings and her. And you know, she plays, she plays a robot. And I'm like, okay, Julie, you're a bad bot. You're a bad. Yeah. Yeah. Living ball, which gave, which is kind of like the grandmother to small wonder, you know,

[01:22:43] which is like, I've watched that show. I used to watch. I used to watch small wonder. I'd be like, I know it's fake. The girl's cute. Yeah. You know, it's so funny again, to think of like monsters, the way there were like kind of effectively knockoff shows that didn't really catch on after. Yeah. There was a lot of time we were resistant to having actors who were movie stars, be TV and vice versa.

[01:23:10] But, oh, you can adapt a TV show from a movie or a book. That's fine. Or vice versa. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Gidget. And I remember, I remember Gidget was, Gidget was, was like three movies with Sandra D. And then what they did was they, they basically said, okay, we'll update it. Now that the surf thing is like big, we're going to have Gidget, you know, and, and all them appear. And who do we get?

[01:23:35] Well, we're going to get Jack Mahoney's daughter because Jack Mahoney was her stepdad. Yeah. And she was, she'd been, she was in a TV show before that. I keep thinking she was, she, or she just got cast. And, you know, here she was this cute little girl. And then she does the flying nun. And she said, they would, they said they'd call lunch. They'd forget she was on the gurney sometimes, you know. Oh, that's illegal. That's illegal. She hated the show. Yeah.

[01:24:03] And then she does the girl with something extra. Wow. Remember that one? Yes. She does simple. Then she does simple. Everybody's going, Oh, she's. And then she does, you know, Smokey and the bandit, you know, and the love of her life. Well, you know, yeah, I think about that all the time, but like the daytime soap operas or the nighttime soap operas, the idea that that was more like a training ground for directors like Jane, Jane Badler being all the different shows.

[01:24:32] And then V, you know, and it's like, now we had, you know, the David Caruso, like no TV people stay in your lane. Right. Or are we going now? Now we, you know, Nicole, Nicole Kidman's on like five shows or something. Yeah. You got to work out the Jamie Lee Curtis actors on actors variety interview. She talks about how Nicole came in, convinced her to do that mystery show. But I always joke that Caruso is James's favorite. And I say that in italics actor, Peter Graves, just the flat face, serious guy. Yeah.

[01:25:01] He can only be serious, but he has no charisma or anything. And that's just good enough for TV, man. He has the emotions of a piece of wood. What did you think I would have said? That's so funny. No, I have the opposite. Like, that's the thing that gets me about the, the, the man from uncle movie. Oh yeah. I thought knowing, knowing what we know about now about crazy psycho cannibal army hammer. But I just thought that that movie was so dull and boring. It was bad.

[01:25:29] And I was like, I will watch the show every single time over this. And I, I can like, I like some of the mission of possible. I lost some friendships over that. I'm like, don't call it make from uncle. Who the hell was in that man from uncle movie? The lifeless Superman, Henry Cavill, who's never done anything good. Yeah. And then yeah, the cannibal army hammer, who's now doing the whole, I guess I canceled myself. I'm like, well, here's the thing. Just say what do you mean cannibal army? What do you mean cannibal army? He's a cannibal in real life.

[01:25:57] There are still like part of a sex cult. So he tried having like some, and he confessed it. So he can't, and now there's new stuff coming out about him that. Yeah. He's still like biting people. Oh God. I'm acting like he's been set up. It's like, you invited this trouble. You said it. And Alexander Waverly, I think was Hugh, Hugh Grant. Uh, yeah. I thought, again, so dull, so dry.

[01:26:25] I would rather watch the TV show over and over. The TV show was great. Yeah. Mission Impossible. And people don't remember it. I was still watching classic Mission Impossible too. Please. Equalizer. Yeah. So my friend Mike and me, we go, in 96, we go see Mission Impossible, the first one, right? Yeah. And we're sitting there and we're watching it. Jim Phelps is the traitor. Oh, yeah. We walk out of that movie theater and we both go to each other.

[01:26:52] You never make Jim Phelps the fucking bad guy. It'd be like if Alfred backstabbed Batman, even though he's not canon. You know? And I'm like, that was the biggest piece of shit. God damn it. I think the biggest problem with all those movies is they didn't have an outline. So then everyone's like, why wasn't a respectable franchise? It's like, cause you're ripping off other franchises. How about you do Mission Impossible 8? Who gives a shit about the stunts? Yeah. You know? And that's just it.

[01:27:21] It has unfortunately become a Fast and Furious type thing. And I feel like a lot of people should say. Again, the we'll fix it in post. We'll CGI it. We'll panoramic it. We can defy gravity and it doesn't matter. It looks so unrealistic and so fake. Compared to like the original when it's like so elaborate. Like the little stupid little mechanical things that they're piecing together. That they're setting up. That they're attaching. You're like, this is so stupid. It makes no sense. Mission Impossible. It's so intense. They gotta finish completing this thingamajig and sticking it in this thingamajig. And then they gotta sneak out.

[01:27:50] I pissed off a lot of people by doing a lot of these same questions. I'm like, do you know what tone or mood is? No. Anytime. Anytime. What determines whether I can take it seriously or not. Sorry. Anytime that Lalo Scherfer music was playing. We go. I had fun going for that again. I only struggled with season four during the cast change up. There just wasn't much to offer.

[01:28:19] But overall, it. It did pretty good considering it was a show where Paramount fired the creator. So I think that was pretty good. And then. But it was pretty much predating all the current cop and spy shows we see now. Where it's like, hey, you want to get any attached to this person? Too bad. The thing that was correct about that is. You find out that. What's your call? Was. Barbara. Barbara Bain. Barbara Bain. Oh, yes.

[01:28:50] Martin Landau. Martin Landau. Martin Landau. Martin Landau. Martin Landau was offered the role of Spock and turned it down. Yeah. And then Leonard Nimoy. But then Nimoy. Yeah. To think when you say, oh, this show's down and out near like the end of it's like seven, eight season. When Leonard Nimoy is on the show, you're like, oh, what? No. And I had fun looking at it now because it's almost like a live action version of GI Joe. It's like, we're whatever country. We're whatever race.

[01:29:16] Just because we just change how we look and people buy the shit. Isn't this funny? The thing I loved about that was when you watch Mission Impossible and you're like the original Stephen Hill. Stephen Hill leaves because he's he's Jewish. He can't work on a Friday. It's the Sabbath. So he didn't know that. That's yeah. Yeah. He was. He was. He was like, I can't work on a Sabbath. So that first, I think, season, he's the head of. Am I am mission impossible?

[01:29:44] You know, should you or never then comes Peter Graves. So then you have Peter Lupus, who was there for all those seasons. Right. Greg Morris, who was there for all the seasons. You've got Barbara Bain and Martin Landau. They leave. They bring in Leonard Nimoy as Paris. Right. The magician. And then I think it was Linda Day George. Yeah. He went through a couple of girls at the end. Yeah. And then the last one was Sam Elliott was on the show.

[01:30:14] I think he. He gets a lot of shit for it, but I really dug on that. He just had a lot of charm, even though his character was shallow. I was just like, you know, you look and sound like a spy. That's not what that's what I mean. They each kind of knew their their roles and stuck to them. And then when they did. All we can ask for. When they did the remake in the 80s. I didn't know Jim Badler Batball. Yeah. Was on that show. I'm like, hey, wait a minute.

[01:30:41] That's the chick that ate the fricking gopher on V, man. You got to say like Caddyshack gophers. Oh, that's okay. She ate the gophers. Hey, she ate the gophers. What do you mean? She just opened her mouth and swallowed them up. No, no, gophers. You're great. You're the gophers. I'm sorry. I'm obligatory. Well, we're waiting. Well, we're waiting. Hey, Whitey, where's your hat? I'll take a couple of those, a couple of those, a couple of those balls, a couple of those things,

[01:31:09] naked lady teeth and fit my friend Mr. Wang here with all the whole shmere. No offense. That's a great help. I mean, given how many bad decisions the studios are doing, I mean, come on. They just announced that they're doing an action fantasy version of John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13. So first off, fuck you Paramount for that and buying, trying to buy Warner Brothers, you know? So, but. Assault on Precinct 13. You can't replace, I'm sorry, you can't replace Austin Stoker. Carpenter already did it. It was called Ghosts of Mars. Look how that turned out.

[01:31:39] Anyway, so. Yeah, it's just like, I think everybody just needs to just take a big step back to quote traffic thunder anyway. So, but I think this is it. I, if I'm going to be remembered for anything, I want to be remembered as a guy who did a sitcom or some kind of just fantasy thing. And I think that's why the monsters did both those had both those in spades. Yeah. And Adam's family, same deal, even though. And the movies were fine for what they were.

[01:32:08] You know, it's kind of like, like, you know, Kristen was saying earlier about Brady Bunch. And it's like, hey, you know, the adults will get it. The kids will like it. Boom. You know, all I, all I freaking need. And. Like you say. Infinitely watchable. These things don't make me really watchable. Not only that. Other stuff. You're just like, what, what is that? That's not a movie, whatever that is. It's related in name only. And it's just, who is this for? Yeah.

[01:32:33] The pop culture influence has been through my generation, especially. Yeah. You know, for the kids who watched it in the, you know, after school in the afternoon or in the mornings, you know, and then to, you know, see it, you know, living on and on. And the actors were still around when we were, you know, in our twenties and, you know, you know, so that's what was so great about it. John Astin is still alive. He's still, he's like 90 something years old. And I think he's still teaching. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:33:02] And, you know, his son, his son, you know, Sean Astin. Is it his son? Is it? He is now. Yeah. Patty and her cousin, Kathy. Yeah. Sharon, the hot dog. It was closer to his mom. I'm going to take stepdad's surname. I see how this works. All right. Okay. Hot dog didn't make her lose control. Wow. I think. I think. Trying to explain that to somebody.

[01:33:29] Look, there was a child actress who was like a movie star. And we're going to create a show for her where she's playing like twin cousins, but it's okay. It's all safe. It's okay. Just go with it. All right. And then towards the end, what's going to happen is the one cousin is going to kind of fade off. Yeah. So Patty's, you know, cause they remember they did. If you watch it, the Patty Duke show her and the cousin, like they're like, they're always. And then like towards the end of the show, like the one cousin goes, all right, we're going to put her in the back.

[01:33:59] I'll go away. You don't see her for, you know, some shows. And then it's just, you know, it's just Patty. They were. And I, I, I, and then they had the little girls show up. Cause I think they, they, they brought the little girl in who they adopted or some shit like that. Yeah. It's like, like my three sons did it. Okay. All right. They did it right. The two older boys, the one Tom, not Tom Considine. Yeah. Tom Considine leaves.

[01:34:23] And, um, you know, uh, which one caught, you know, now it's just, you know, now it's just, you know, chip, you know, it's not chip and Doug and you know, Ernie comes along not chip and Ernie Ernie Ernie gets adopted. So now you got, you know, you got him. Ernie. What was that expression that that's when a show was going bad when they added another child? Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's, it's the cousin Oliver. Yes. Yeah.

[01:34:50] The cousin Oliver syndrome that Robbie wrist has joined since, you know, he's like, he's like, yeah, I know I did it. You know, look at me now. I'm, I'm, I'm still, I'm still working no matter what, you know. Um, well he does. I'm here. I remember him. I remember seeing him. I was watching something on YouTube. I was like, there's this, I was like, there's this movie. I saw one time it's called Tut and Tuttle. And I was looking for it. It was under this thing called under the magic pyramid. Right.

[01:35:17] With the kid who played, um, foul mouth, the foul mouth kid from, uh, Tanner Tanner from, from the kid who was in the bad news bears, Tanner's in it. Right. And it's this, he goes back into agent Egypt and helped him. It was King Tut. So there's a kid. There's a kid in the beginning. Who is talking to him. I'm looking like, that's Robbie wrist. Robbie wrist. That's in this movie. Oh my God. And Robbie wrist was like, yeah, he's like, he was on kid video.

[01:35:47] I remember he did the cartoon voices and stuff. Anyone here on the electric company? New relationship for him. Oh God. It wasn't Victor Bruno. Oh, not Victor Bruno. Victor Bruno scares me. Like for a guy who's been in a lot of B movies, he sure did a lot of mainstream and family friendly stuff. You're like, wow. Whatever happened to baby Jane. Oh God. Whatever happened to baby Jane. The book was the one, the meat, the one where he played the guy who butchers people. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:36:15] And then he played, he played the landlord for Felix and Oscar. Yeah. In the one episode he was still, he's actually, there's two of them. One, he played a specialist on the occult. The other, he played the, the landlord who was basically like being cheap with Felix and Oscar, not fixing everything. It's so funny. Yeah. How that turned out to be like a good show still, even though it had came from a great movie. And that I love how TC have had the, had the fun compromise is like, yeah, the movie might

[01:36:43] be the better entry, but the casting is so much better than the sitcom is like, yeah, it is kind of like in the heat of the night. It's like, I can't replace that, but they did. Yeah. It's just a whole good separate entity. They did. And then they tried doing barefoot in the park as a TV show. Oh God. Alice. Alice. Alice was Alice doesn't live here anymore. They just did that. Um, I think all in the family is based on a, was based on a British show till death do us part.

[01:37:12] And then three's company company is based on man, man, man in the house, man in the house. And then the spinoff, which was, but TV programming was this so well. It's like, so who pitched these and determined the syndication versus kill and cancel. Valley Struthers let it out about on the family that, uh, I wish we could call it, um, Carol Connor.

[01:37:36] Carol Connor was over in England and he, he was watching the show and he's like, you know, this is great. And he was, he was a writer too. So him and his writing partner at the time went to Norman Lear and said, okay, you guys write it up and I'll, you know, but Norman Lear said, oh, he saw it. And I was like, no, no, no. It was Carol O'Connor who did it.

[01:37:55] And then if you watch, um, Mary Tyler Moore, that is the spiritual ancestor to a show in England called agony. Which was yeah. With, with Maureen Lipman. She was the divorcee. Yeah. And they couldn't do that. Yeah. They couldn't do that. So they, the divorce was more, was more accepted in England. What to think of these successes. Well, okay. Yeah.

[01:38:23] Three's a crowd did not work out, but, um, all in the family, you get Maude, you get good times. Mary Tyler Moore, you get. No, no, no, no, no. Mary Tyler Moore wasn't a spinoff of all in the family. No, no. But, but I mean, but I mean, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Cause you got to think all the family gave birth to Maude, which gave birth to good times. Good times. And then Maude. Um, then there's more, there's Gloria, which was the other spinoff. Oh, that Phyllis. Yeah.

[01:38:52] Phyllis was a spinoff too. Yeah. Of Mary Tyler Moore along with the idea that again, a show that's not available. Lou Grant, that they went to an hour drama with Ed Asner and you're like, this is awesome. I wanted, you know, Lou Grant was supposed to be, you know, this lovable curmudgeon. Then you put them on his own show. The show that you've had some of them, but I know what you mean. Yeah. That was a great show to watch, especially. Who do you have on that? He won. He's the only person to win awards for playing as a comedy and drama. Yeah.

[01:39:23] And the great thing was, was that when that went off the air, he was still working. I can remember watching a freakazoid, the TV show freakazoid. Yeah. And I was like going, whoa, like, like Ed Asner's doing the voice of Cosgrove, the police chief, David Warner's doing the voice of the lobe. You know, they've got, they've got what you call it. John, Jonathan Harris doing the voice of Professor Jones.

[01:39:51] And like the, the, the, the joke in that is, Hey, why aren't you on that TV show with that robot? You know? And I remember like, he doesn't live here anymore. No, they were like, they're going, we have to get someone to voice Professor Jones. And they said, why don't we get, and I remember like they were doing an interview. So I was like, why don't we get Jonathan Harris? Jonathan Harris is Jonathan Harris could still do it. He's still, he's still, he's still around. They looked at him. He's like, well, I'll do it for you. No problem.

[01:40:19] He gets on there and they're like, just do Dr. Smith, but he's Professor Jones. And then he's like, he's like, okay, no problem. And he reads the lines. And they said, Paul Rudd. And I think Tress McNeil, we're like trying not to hold their laugh. We're trying to hold their laughter. I bet. Because he's doing the, like that and all that stuff. And the, the thing was, if you ever watch Freakazoid, Paul, Paul, Paul, Paul, Paul,

[01:40:46] Paul, Paul, whatever the voice was, he did this bit where he's, he's, they're doing this thing where they did this episode of Candlejack, right? If you've ever seen the show Freakazoid, Candlejack is being voiced by Paul Rugg and Paul Rugg is doing Candlejack. I think he's doing Candlejack. But he does this bit where he's tied up as Freakazoid. He says, let me just say one thing. And he turns into Jerry Lewis. Oh, wow. And he does this story where he says, let me just say, I love these kids. They're great. I love them.

[01:41:16] Let's, let's get together, do a spiritual thing or something like that. And this, this Ed Asda, I love him a bear of the man. I mean, we have to hug, talk, you know, do something with him. And Kenny Ma's a talented individual. And he's doing this whole bit like Jerry Lewis. I'm, I'm literally like, I'm upstairs in my room and my mother's hearing me just like screaming, laughing. And she's like, what is it? What did I say? Mom, if I told you, you wouldn't believe me. And then later that episode, they do Toby danger.

[01:41:46] Okay. Which was a, which was a great parody on Johnny quest. So I'm watching it and I'm thinking, wow. Okay. Who's doing. Okay. I know Scott Manville is doing the voice of Toby. I did actually on that note, actually ask. Want to ask you guys, has there been a good parody of the monsters other than some of the actors appearing and bumpers cable.

[01:42:13] No, no, no, no, no, again, not compared to the shows. No, you can always watch. Well, no, I can't. I can't compare it. I'm just saying. I was just chuckling. Thinking we had like James is like four reference. He's like a saying all story. He's like four references deep in TV shows. And I'm thinking, has any audiences today? You know, any of these shows? I think they know. Yeah. Do we have to explain Johnny quest? You know, like I'm thinking in like 87 to 95. That was like, yeah, yeah. Like the way people like, uh, I'm sorry.

[01:42:43] Elf, the way people know Bob Newhart from Elf. And you're like, I'm like, no, no, no. I'm like, no, no. I accept like, if you know him from the finale of Newhart alone, I could accept that. I know him as playing Bob Newhart on sales. I'm like, if you know him as Bob Newhart. Oh, yeah. From a Bob Newhart show. Come on. Yes. You know, I don't like you. I don't like you. And I like your patience, Harley. If you know, if you know, if you know, Mr. Carlin as the voice of dad from, uh, you know, Rugrats.

[01:43:13] And I'm like, I'm like, no, I know Mr. Carlin. I know Mr. Carlin. And I think it's funny because in the past, it seemed like everybody got two shows. Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore went to Mary Tyler Moore. It was like, uh, um, oh, shoot. The, oh, Lord. Bob Daly. Bob Daly had been like BFF when I drew of Jeannie. Then he saw Bob Newhart. No, Larry Hagman goes to Dallas. Yeah. And then, then I love the fact that you have, um, uh, who was it? Oh, shit. Um, that guy.

[01:43:43] Budge. I forgot. No, no. What I loved about Dick Van Dyke show and Mary Tyler Moore show is their characters weren't actually named that. That wasn't their surname, but it was just, yeah, I missed that kind of free advertising where I'm going to do a sitcom, but it's advertising this actor, even though that in universe, their character is not called that. Yeah. Well, like, it's like, it's like, you know, like Gavin McCloud goes from Murray Slaughter to Captain Steubing. Oh my God. Captain Steubing. Who was it? Who was it?

[01:44:14] Uh, um. I guess my, uh, between Maude and Mary Tyler Moore, my husband's like, this is like Golden Girls, the early years. I'm like, don't forget Mama's family. Yes. Mama's family from Carol Burnett. But Carol, but Mama's family had two of the Golden Girls and they left when they retooled the show. They left. And the funny thing is when you read about the backstory, they wanted Betty White to play Blaine. Yeah. And she already had done Sue Ann Niven. Yeah. Rue McClane in the play. Had already done.

[01:44:39] I think people, unfortunately are so quick to impress each other. They know the trivia, but they haven't actually made time to see it. And so it's almost as bad as some of my relatives who would just go to IMDB. I'm like, well, you're so busy going on. They're looking at trivia. Why don't you still got to make time and sit down and watch this? No, I don't want to. So back to the freakazoid. Back to the freakazoid. Back to the freakazoid.

[01:45:06] So as I'm watching it, I'm like, oh, gee, I wonder who they got to do the voice of Dr. Danger. And I'm Professor Danger. And I look and it says Don Messick. And I'm like, Don Messick? Wait a minute. I know Don Messick. I thought Don Messick had died. No, he was still alive. He was still doing the voice of Scooby Doo up until I think, I think maybe till he, because

[01:45:34] he gave that to Frank Welker to do. And he's like, I can't do Scooby anymore. But they had him on Freakazoid. And it was just like so funny to watch that show. Who they had on that show doing voices. You were like, whoa, I can't believe they were on that. And having friends who are actually working voice acting talents nationwide, I share their frustration when they do, they put in the work.

[01:46:01] And then the people who are, and investors who are unsure will say, well, let's just see if, you know, someone famous who doesn't do voice actresses available. Charlie's there in Pedro Pascal. You know, someone from Parks and Rec. Are you available? It's like, they're not even right for the part. What are you doing? Yeah. Brief rants. I mean, this is what infuriates me about Star Trek Lower Decks. It could have gone on infinitely and you could have had all the Star Trek people, no matter their age, you know, and make appearances. But, oh, I don't know.

[01:46:30] Paramount's up its own ass. Okay, sorry. I think they want to inflict pain upon themselves. And this is how they're doing it right now. It's like, I hate myself. I watched that Starfleet Academy one that just came out. Yeah. That was, it was, I wasn't enjoying it. I do like, well, again, you said it before. Who was the audience for this? What is the tone? What is the dialogue? I got it as just a standalone thing.

[01:46:58] It was uneven, but I, I like where it's going now, but I, I totally understand. I think the problem with all Star Trek, in all honesty is. How do I word this? I think. I like how you look at their broadcast news. Come on. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. There's something beneath the podium, ladies and gentlemen. Just give me just a minute. But no, seriously. I think the problem is not only just the marketing, but also.

[01:47:26] Star Trek needs an actual studio that actually likes it. Because that's the other thing. Paramount has never liked it. Yeah. It kind of like how Universal was with the office. Executives in charge instead of the, the, the actual creative people. Yeah. Universal treated both, both versions of Battlestar as well as the office this way until finally everyone was like, no, we want more. And so I think that's, it's like. It's like. They, they have run out of IPs and this is the one they got left. And they're like, no.

[01:47:55] We started out so wholesome. But look at us now. It's a, it's Peacock that has. I'm like Al Pacino and Ligary Glen Ross. Oh, what a big man you are. Yeah. Days of our lives. The soap opera. Is streaming on Peacock. It's like. Again, who's watching on Peacock? Like. Like, okay. I don't understand that, but like, you can't bring back. I do you. You can't bring back all the other soaps and just have infinite content available on infinite channels.

[01:48:24] Like so many fast streaming channels started out. Like there was like universal crime or like another, like MGM action or something. And they were, they were, they were rotating like a team or equalized or something. And like now one of them's just Columbo all the time. Like they just disappear. They just, the schedules don't match. They just kind of. And I'm like, but all this content is available. Let's see these shows again. I want, I want them to do the NBC mystery movies. Put those on. Put them all back together.

[01:48:52] The ones where, you know, it was ten of fly and the one with, with Richard. Well, one of them does show Banachek, I think. Oh, Banachek. Jesus Christ. That bad George, that George for part with the bad short hair. And then, you know, you know, show us, show us the Snoop sisters. Show us, you know, McMillan and wife. You know, I think the, the, the, the, the cloud show us McCloud for Christ's sake. McCloud. That was the right kind of just smooth.

[01:49:17] Smooth, just easy going show, you know, and I see other shows that are outdated. But again, I like. Yeah. Just having that kind of option, you know, just something. I want to watch this. I enjoy the, having, having these shows in the back. I'm watching. Giffy Falcon Crest. I'm like, Oh, look at that. Like 1984. Like this car, you know, like, oh yes. That's my queen. The Ferrari, you know, like, yes. And having Lana Turner and Jane. Yes. Having to film separately. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:49:46] When you find out later, you know, Lana Turner couldn't stand her. Yeah. You know, Jane Wine was like that fucking bitch. Yeah. I said, I explained my husband's like, which one is this? I'm like, okay, there are the wine vineyards. They're Italians. I'm like, but no Italians are on the show except Gina, Gina Lola Brigida comes in one time. That's it. That's it. That's it. And then the thing I love is like, you watch that, you watch that show. I guarantee you Jane Wyman was like, well, at least my daughter didn't stab anybody to death. Oh, I'm sure.

[01:50:14] I was trying to explain that to my husband. He's like, what are you talking about? Part of me wants to be like LA confidential, but no. And we were watching dark shadows. We got up to him seeing Kate Jackson. He's like, Hey, Charlie's angels check. I'm like, well, first there was rookies. I'm like, and then there was Scarecrow and Mrs. King. And he's like, what? I love Scarecrow. Again, I'm looking for it. I think it might, it might be a buy, you know, and then people complaining, of course, like I started watching this and then they took it off. I'm like, get the physical media. If the physical media is available.

[01:50:45] Now these, now these box sets are pretty affordable. I need a physical. Sorry. Go ahead. But yeah, I know what you mean though. It's just like, Hey, Hey, Olivia Newton, John joke here. And then a video was going to get physical. Oh, Sorry. Sorry. Well, you know, it takes two of a kind to know what that joke is. Oh, The one, the one I always loved is like, my buddies told me, my friend or my, we had an argument. We said, okay,

[01:51:13] what do you think was the best seasons of Cheers? And I said, okay, I'm going to say this. The one word that made us laugh. Oh, it was, it was good when Sheldon Long was on, but when they brought Kirstie Alley on, and they had, and Woody and they brought more people to the bar. Like, you know, that guy, the real heavy, the Paul guy, the Paul with the glasses. And it got more surreal as time. Like the humor got to be more and more like out there.

[01:51:39] Sometimes I love my favorite episode is the one where Sam locks himself out of the bar. Because his house keys are like, and he's trying to find somewhere to stay. And Peter McNichol plays the, the hotel clerk. And I am like laughing. He's like, yes, you want a room here, but do you have nothing? So what are you expecting me to do? Have you washed the dishes? You know, and I love when he goes to stay at cliffs. Like he goes to the cliffs in his mother's house,

[01:52:08] and they're doing shadow portraits for the night. You know, it's just like, I gotta get out of here. I gotta get out of here. Get out. He goes to Rebecca's house. Rebecca's having a date with some guys. Like, can I spend the night here? I have a date here, Sam. You know, it was just, and then he goes to Carlos has some Carlos is like, he just goes, locks on Carlos door. He looks in the door. He's just like, no, turns around, walks back out again. I like that. That since John Mahoney guest start as a veteran,

[01:52:36] everyone likes to say that's where that was Frazier's dad, but he was pretending he didn't recognize him. Yeah. The difference. Fuck you, like the, the same writer, the same director that had been on Mary Tyler Moore did all of Cheers. And it was like, you had the same people, the same writer's room, the people who knew the characters. First in case James Burroughs. Yes. Thank you. Sorry. But like the idea that I was discussing someone with the golden girls were saying towards the end, the way the show got kind of preposterous and got kind of ridiculous. I said,

[01:53:06] but they were leaning into their own world at that point because they knew what their audience is. They knew what they could push the envelope to do, you know, goofy, crazy things. Now it's like completely clear when like some of these yellow stones like jumped the shark and they get a spinoff and they get a spinoff. And then we're going in the past. And then we're flashback of this or that, you know? So it's like, I don't think shows, I don't know. They don't have that internal world building anymore. If you have something like, like big bang theory and it goes to young Sheldon. Yeah. And now she's George and Mandy's first marriage.

[01:53:35] And I've seen parts of George and George, George and Mandy's first marriage. And it's good. I think it's well-written. Not as good as young Sheldon though. Cause young Sheldon, you didn't even need a laugh track. It didn't even laugh. But my grandmother hated the show, uh, Jag, but she loved it. And so I was like, see, that's a good example. My husband has tried to rewatch Jag and he's like, yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't hold up the same, same thing over and over again. It's fun, but the slow motion is terrible. And that's the other problem.

[01:54:03] Every show that's been remastered that uses slow motion. You're just like, see, here's the thing you've remastered it. So now you're seeing every detail, including the way they crop the homicide life on the street. You're like, no, you're missing, you're missing half the picture. You're missing half the picture. And then not only that, the, the one thing I've loved is like watching, I've been watching, uh, the new episodes of scrubs. And the thing is, You're really liking it so far. My sister approved of it too.

[01:54:33] She's like, it's like, they never left. I'm like, that's, that's a blessing. Cause those last two seasons. It's like they never left, but to see, but to see, um, what you want to call it? Um, the doc, Dr. Cox. Love that man. Yeah. I legit love that dude. Him going through this, this, like this disease. It was a bad apple, but come on. No, I love doc. Dr. Cox was my favorite character on that show. Me too! I love Dr. Cox. And I love, I love the guy. Who's the, who's the guy? Who was the guy who was the, um.

[01:55:02] Oh, Ken Jenkins. Yeah. Yeah. The stuck up guy who's always intimidating. And then, uh, the one black receptionist nurse, she'll go up and put him in his place. He's like, well, do you remember, do you remember when she died and then they brought her back? And they're like, they're looking at her. They're like, she looks very familiar. She looks like, hmm. And they're all looking at each other like, do do do do do do. You know, hmm. What I loved about that show was, Oh man.

[01:55:31] When it's feedback on the air, I was like, okay. I should ask my cousins next time they're in town and ask them if they've seen it. They were obsessed. ABC is going to do it. Who's the executive producer? Okay. It's. The Lord's respect. It's, it's Zach and Zach, and Zach, uh, Zach and Donald. Okay. Zach and Donald are doing it. And they're like, we got to get through. Like the way I looked at this, they had to get the band back together. Okay. They had a podcast that was recapping it.

[01:55:58] And it was kind of only making them more lonely for their role. That made them stars. Yeah. Let's just, let's just do it again. Donald face. And we don't realize Donald face. And was in, was in a, uh, was in a commercialist. Lewis. He wasn't close. He wasn't tight ends. Yeah. And what happened was, was that they're like, we've let's bring it back because, you know, it'd be great to see JD and everybody else. And have Dr.

[01:56:24] The thing that's suppressed the shit out of me was the girl who played Dr. Cox's wife in the show. Uh, Christina, what's her name? Oh, uh, Christina Taylor. Yes. Yeah. I didn't, I didn't recognize her at first. No, no, that's not Christina Taylor. Oh, it's well, what I mean is the one from Drew Carey show who's married to the Lawrence. Yes. Yeah. The one who's married to the Lawrence. And I'm looking at him. Yes.

[01:56:53] That doesn't look like her. Like, well, I heard the voice. I was like, no, that's her. Cause she had, I think she was Christina. Kristen Miller. Yes. Yes. And then I'm sitting there and I'm like, and then when it comes to, when it comes to Dr. Cox having this sickness, this disease. And I'm like, Oh fuck. You don't want, don't let him fucking die, man. Don't let him die. Or that's. You know, he's not like the unlikable guy who you love to hate, like on a dynasty or ER type show.

[01:57:20] He's just an idiot who says one good thing and then says one nice thing and then does something good near the end. That's he's such a mixed bag. You don't know what you're going to get. And the show is not. What was a good mixture of. Yeah. Chill. And then next thing you know, it's like, wow, I just saw something poignantly and will said. Yeah. So I was laughing my ass off. Then I ended up crying. Like what the hell is going on? The one episode that got me was when Brendan Fraser was on and he died. So good. Yeah.

[01:57:50] So good. But I mean, they had time to do comedy and drama cause they had full seasons for the whole duration. They hired a lot of people who had done those kinds of shows. So many shows today though, are like 13 episodes and they're already in the can. And it's like, there's no chance to retool or, or there's okay. This character didn't work. Get rid of them. This is the breakout character. Max that up, you know, cause it's like already in the can and they already play and maybe they get a second or third season for Netflix and then they're canceled and they're a mess. Yeah.

[01:58:19] They pulled out with King of Queens. Cause if you remember in King of Queens, what you'll call it. Carrie had a sister. And the sister was, who's the sister. It doesn't matter. What's her father? The girl from Harrisburg, Ricky, Ricky Lake. Ricky Lake was the sister. Ricky Lake was the sister. Wow. And they pulled her. Ricky. And they, they, they basically cut her out and she was like, Oh yeah. You know, but then they brought in, they brought in a, what's your call it?

[01:58:48] Jerry Stiller as Arthur. The father. And it was hilarious. There. I loved Jerry. A step-by-step. She had a whole family and the beauty parlor, something off to the side, but that disappears. Yeah. Bronson Pichot is, is there. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. I can remember like shows they would pull. Like it's called the Chuck Cunningham. Yeah. Somebody's there and then off they go. You know, I can remember on, I can remember on family matters. There was the one daughter.

[01:59:17] The little girl who just disappears. Yeah. Disappears. Then she does hardcore pornography later. What was the, what was the, what was the, what was the other one? I keep thinking like they were on the show and then it was all a dream James. Oh no, no, no. The first two seasons of mama's family. They have the two kids. And then they, and then they go away. They're never referred to again. And then they have the new Bubba. Bubba and Bubba was better. Bubba was, I'm sorry.

[01:59:46] Bubba was better because first off, he's like, it's like Eunice and her husband. And I remember. They're gone. Yeah. They're, they're, they're like, they're, they're, she, and Bubba's like, you know, They were too expensive for syndication. Yeah. So they just put Bubba in there, but they did have Carol Burnett and Harvey Corbin show up one episode. Mm-hmm. And Vicki Lawrence was like, like, okay. Al Schultz. No, Al, I think Al Schultz took, I think Joe Hamilton and her.

[02:00:16] You know, she's on her Palm Royal now that new Kristen Wiig Apple show. Yeah. Yeah. Who, Vicki Lawrence? Actually Carol Burnett. Carol Burnett. Yeah. Yeah. That's who it is. But yeah, for whatever reason I thought she was on there too. No. The thing I love is whenever Vicki Lawrence does a, does a autograph signing, she'll come out as Vicki Lawrence, then she'll go away. Then she'll come out as, as mama. And she still looks the same. Yeah. She still, she looks like mom.

[02:00:45] Like, I'm like, well, uh, this is Harper. Well, it says Sophia was actually the younger, youngest cast member or something. Yeah. It's like, it's like these, these ladies weren't in old lady makeup, you know, for AI to come along. Right. Well, my, my, my brother-in-law Jack knew, um, Estelle Getty from, uh, Queens when, where he grew up because she was, she was, and he said they, they went to go visit her.

[02:01:14] And here she is making, you know, this, she, she had them pay part of the bill. What? You know, I was like, I thought, I thought you were going to say mannequin. They, they knew her from mannequin. Oh yeah. It's like, yeah. It's to think that, yeah, she was an older woman before she got, yeah, her big fame. Well, remember she's in mask. She plays the grandma on mask. But I think the funniest thing is watching, um, watching now, not watching tootsie, watching

[02:01:42] a lover was friends and love this movie from 1970 called lovers and other strangers. And it's Paul Castellano, no, Richard Castellano and Diane Keaton. Two years later, they'd be in the Godfather together. And I'm watching, and I'm watching who's playing. You're not an actor. You can't refuse. And I'm watching who's playing the, the wife and it's, it's Bea Arthur, but her hair

[02:02:09] was long and she's, you know, the one scene I love is there at the wedding and like, you know, they, they're, they're serving the soup and she just takes the soup from the waiter and just puts it in his plate, you know? Oh, there's that one random scene in Tootsie where they're out dancing. And then like a little, little, little Silgetti pops up. She's like, I love your soup. I love you. And you're just, everybody else is like, it's, it's Sophia. Oh, no, sorry. Different from Sophia. My bad.

[02:02:35] I think the funniest thing I ever saw was watching, um, Hollywood film crew and they were watching this thing and it was like Hollywood after dark. It was the film crew with Hollywood after dark. Yes. And it's, it's, it's Rue McClanahan's first big movie, but it was a beam. It was like a, it was like a B movie and she plays a stripper in it. And I'm like, holy Christ. And she, you know, and then a couple of years later, she's in this movie called some of my

[02:03:03] best friends are where she played. It's all these people in a gay bar. Right. It's like, oh yeah. Gilgerrards in it. Um, good old Bucky Rogers. Yeah. I saw, I saw him last night in an episode of too close for comfort where she's supposed to be taken like the nude photos of him. And she's like, I can't, I can't do it. I can't do it. I'm like, oh my gosh. Like the cross. I'm like, I'm like, is this a crossover episode? Okay. Yeah. There you go. He works to my Tweeky. Yeah. You want to see my little Tweeky?

[02:03:32] Um, wow. Hey, call the searcher. I know. Um, that was, that show, that show fucked up. I'm sorry. Buck Rogers, the second scene. I was just thinking that cause I've been, I've been lamenting the negativity of contemporary shows. But yeah. Uh, the way they, the Galactica 1980, the second season of Buck Rogers, the way they butchered V. Yes. Uh, see, have you guys seen it lately? Um, but I'll say. I don't mind either of your Buck Rogers, but yes, Galactica 1980.

[02:04:02] That's gotta go. That's. Galactica, out of the picture. No. I think the, the great thing about the later season of V was Michael Ironside showing up. Yeah. Well, you gotta say it like how he says it. But then they get rid of him. It's, it's so jarring. It's like, you bring him on. Okay. He makes the show and then they just write him out and like they change everything around. And it was like, maybe you should have listened to the creator when he said, you could not make a sci-fi show off this budget on a weekly basis. You know? So then they, yeah, they got a butcher half. He became a Highlander.

[02:04:31] That stock footage. Like, no, it's like, ah. Pam Taylor. What a great character. You know, like, he's the guy that wants to just do it. Like, you know, there's him and Mark Singer. Like, I need a new pair of boots. This is a lizard. Mark Singer. Oh, man. Mark Singer. Oh, man. The Beastmaster, man. Yeah. His jeans, his jeans, man. Explain in the 1980s. How did his jeans not split on the show? He briefly recurs on Highlander as like some crazy hillbilly trying to kill him.

[02:04:58] And I'm like, yeah, but no, he's really the Beastmaster from another portal trying to stop Duncan McCloud. That's what he's doing here. But I know, I know you're the Beastmaster, pal. You know, my mom was in it. My mom and my aunt were at a diner one time in L.A. And they're sitting there and like, also, they look. My mom goes, Leslie, Leslie, look behind you. So, Leslie, it's Mark Singer. She's like, I know he lives around here. I mean, but it's Mark Singer. Yeah.

[02:05:28] JJ would be flipping out right now. Like, you know, does he have any emeralds from his emerald mine on the other? The Dream Season of Dallas? Like, oh, God. Wow. I feel like. And then the crossovers we're doing here because Tanya Roberts, Charlie's Angels, and then that 70s show. Yeah. And then she's on the Beastmaster, too. There you go. Then she does Sheena, Queen of the Jungle with. Yes. With what's his name? A father from Blossom. And trying to explain that these are like PG movies that have like all kinds of jungle,

[02:05:58] you know. Jungle love. Fantasy nudity. Yeah. Yeah. Just see your tits and you're fine. Don't worry. You see a lot more than that. Oh, yeah. I know you see her butt, you know. It's wild, though, too, how anyone would adapt stuff, whether it was based off a play, whether it was based off dailies in the newspaper. It's just like you never knew what you're going to get.

[02:06:24] And I think why I chose these shows tonight, though, overall was just much like what we've been doing is it's kind of going for the retro just back when you had to actually dial to change the channel on the TV. Yeah. It's just that whole. But unfortunately, to answer your question. Wait, wait, you have to you have to stop and explain that then people. What's a dial on the TV? A dial of destiny. No, seriously. Don't touch that dial. You were the remote control. You're the one.

[02:06:52] There was no having any clicker. Yeah. Well, but I think overall, to your earlier point, and I've talked about this before, I do kind of miss the whole deal of I got to get home. I got to set the VCR. VCR. And then with the DVR, that was a good thing. It's like, OK, now I can TiVo it. I can I can Time Warner cable it. You know, I. But now I was just talking to Jay Lancelot about this.

[02:07:17] I said even after I was I was married, like I still had like the DVR on the TV and my VCR hooked up. And I'm like, yeah, when I would go through the classic guide, like there was a movie that wasn't available on DVD. I would still tape it off to the onto the VHS. Yeah. My favorite was we would get the we get the cable, the cable book. And when I was in third grade, Star Wars was going to be on HBO. So that night, that night, it was it was January.

[02:07:46] It was going to be like two days before my birthday. I was like, hey, guys, you know, Star Wars is gonna be all right. Yeah. Yeah. We'd all be sitting on January 21st, January 24th, January 24th. Good, good, good, good. We have January 24th. We all sit. We are so spoiled now. Now, if it airs, it's like, oh, it'll air next week. It's like it'll marathon, whatever. Yeah. Star Wars was on cable. And then when it came on CBS, we were off like going, holy shit, let's watch that on CBS. And they had this big preview before with Mark Hamill.

[02:08:16] Yeah. Yeah. You know, talking about this family, you know, what do you think of it? Yeah. And I can remember like ABC doing Superman for two nights. Yeah. And then they had it with Gladiator. They did it with a few other giant movies. James. Yeah. James Bond. Yeah. ABC. You know. And that's what stunk about talking to my grandparents because they were they were the

[02:08:42] kings and queens upset, you know, set it to record, get ready to watch at six o'clock, the movies on, but they would always be like, I don't see what's so wrong with Goodwill hunting or saving private Ryan. I'm like, guys, it's everything will be modified for TV. What are your little small slurs? Or that's that's been a pet peeve for me recently. Like all the these free live stream channels. It's like a lot of them still censor. They blur. Yeah.

[02:09:11] And I'm like, why? There's no point at this point. Like you're not you're not serving an advertiser because people really don't care. Like, as long as it's not something so taboo that they have to describe. But no, but violence will still be included. But yeah, not boobs. Not. I don't understand. Yeah. And like the way like, yeah, stuff either repeats and then disappears or pops up on another streamer. But then like you've got the TV shows like I think that I on top of the content, it's

[02:09:39] like the thing that the pit ever did was come back within a reasonable like, hey, it's like a year later. And look, you remember the show to keep watching. Like, like we used to have seasons to know what shows. Now it's like people were like Ted Lasso's back and like, you know, or like it's not about sports. It's about psychological comedy. But so many of these shows have like three year gaps and not even with the OK understandable

[02:10:08] with the strike when things were delayed. It's like some of these have so much gap that like you forget the show exists and you're like, oh, yeah. Hello. You've got to constantly engage, not do a Netflix where, oh, there's all these five other things I didn't know even existed until this is what this is what pisses me off about TV. Now it's like we're, you know, the season ends, the seasons, but you're only you used to have we're part of that generation. You know, we had 24 episodes in a season. So I'll put it back.

[02:10:37] I'm actually OK with eight, 10 episodes because you avoid the bad episodes. Yeah, it depends. But the problem is we're finding more and more hackneyed Netflix shows where it's like, yeah, this was a cool idea. Would you rather have one? Yeah. One good show that has 20 episodes or would you rather have three shitty shows that have 10 episodes? Yeah. You know, so did you mention you mentioned V is like the creator of true detective said it was only good for one season, but HBO wanted more.

[02:11:06] And so I was crazy about that show, but I understand why people like it. It's like, oh, two big A listeners are going to play unusual detectives investigating a gruesome serial killer. And then everybody got into the technicalities of like, oh, we're an anthology show. So we can be in a different category. Yeah, they come back every year. But then we're going to connect all our seasons together. Like, in a whole universe. Like the way like they. Don't get me started on Ryan Murphy. Like it's ridiculous to think like, and I am not an awards pundit by any means.

[02:11:36] I cannot stand awards. But it's like you look at these Emmy lists and it's like more shows are being produced than ever before. Let's have Matt LeBlanc win an Emmy for playing himself. Yeah, hundreds, hundreds of shows, literally. And then like they'll have like the same two dozen shows nominated. And you'll see like one show will have like four supporting nominees or four guest nominees or multiple episodes. And you're like, are people not watching these things? Are they not in technical windows or there's their bullshit technicalities?

[02:12:04] I'm convinced that only the crewmen are watching them. That's why they're so it's so ironic of like this. Yeah, the gatekeeping of like, yeah, if you can only Netflix not putting like people were And then they hire boss to engage. Well, I can't wait. Looking forward to it. Says the sister page of the network. I'm like, this is what gets me when we were growing up as kids. We had so much so much. We only had three channels. I love pulling out the TV guide. Yeah.

[02:12:34] It's like premiering tonight. Yeah. And we had we had previews. And then if you were a kid, you had the Saturday morning preview. Right. But the thing was, was that when I was when I can remember watching where shows like they were coming on and then they would be like two seasons. Like I can remember the show The Charmings. Remember that show? The Charmings. All right. Arming Snow White Snow White and Prince Charming wake up in Los Angeles. Wow. OK. They had Caitlin Healy, who was the first one.

[02:13:02] She was the teacher in three o'clock high who gets who basically Jerry goes after, you know, like, you know, get out of any good or was it? Oh, it was. It was. It was fun. It was fun. But then they took after the second season, they replaced her and then they brought in this other girl to be great idea. Yeah. Let's cast you. Yeah. And then so then. But then there were shows like Mr. Belvedere. I loved Mr. Belvedere because, you know, especially if you read about, you know, Christopher

[02:13:31] Hewitt sitting on his balls. Um, uh, God, if you're getting these jokes, thank God bless you. Um, you know, but, but I love the fact that that, you know, here, here was, here was Bob Euchre doing a weekly TV show. And I loved, I love Bob Euchre, you know, but then there were shows that kind of missed the mark.

[02:13:54] Like I can remember the nut house with Mel Brooks, with, um, with, you know, Harvey, Harvey Corman and, uh, um, you know, um, whatchamacallit, uh, course. Yeah. Yeah. Anybody who was anybody who had a name, guess what? Your next thing is you're going to be on TV. And I read, uh, Cassandra Peterson's Elvira, uh, yours cruelly. And she had pitched a show about like how, like, she's kind of a witch and she's got like a niece.

[02:14:23] Who's like not a witch, but it's like learning the ropes and like fun things happen. And like, and then like they, they, uh, she'd even did a pilot and they passed on it. But then right after the same network did a Sabrina, the teenage witch. And she was like, Hey, wait a sec. You motherfuckers. You stole it from me. Why are you taking an Archie comic to, you know, I can't remember shows. Like I can remember shows. Like when I was growing up. Well, this is like, I'm going to be going to bed soon. Cause I got to like get up there.

[02:14:52] The monsters in Adam's family before you go, the bills have some comic books. I think the monsters. Okay. The monsters, the monsters. Well, it seems prime for it. Not that I think, I think the monsters might've, cause it was either gold or Dell comics. Um, I had yes. As the star Trek, Dell, uh, let's see here. Read like record comic books. Yeah. Yeah. I remember those. All right. Gold key and Dell were like, if you had a TV series, they would put it out for you.

[02:15:21] But the thing I remember the most is when Saturday mornings were around and I, I grew up, you know, in that pitch area of like 77 to 89. So I was there when it just basically tailed off. And, but I can't remember them putting out like super friends and super friends was like the show. The whole of the Smurfs. The, you know, the, and the Smurfs and then they'd rerun Shazam after God knows how many years was off the air.

[02:15:47] You know, those were the shows I watched, but they had a show called sport Billy that Filmation did. And it was supposed, it was supposed to come. It was supposed to come on in 1980. And what happened was, was that unfortunately we boycotted the Olympics that year because of Russia invading Afghanistan. Yeah. And then they basically had the stones to do that now. Yeah. Yeah. No more violence in Palestine. Let's try that.

[02:16:13] But now, but now you've got, now you've got freaking, you know, like I can remember Flash Gordon, the adventures of Flash Gordon being on. I'm waiting for somebody to do like defenders of the earth, like live action. And guess what? You get a movie, you get a universe, you get a spit off, you get a flashback. I love how you're going to Oprah mode. You get a movie. Yeah. And then, and then I sit back and I watched GI Joe and I'm like, are we really being ruled by Cobra commander? Yeah. Yeah. Oh God.

[02:16:41] I, I, I said this, I said, I think Cobra commander would have more stones than, I don't think Cobra commander would hide himself in a catering truck when he was. Yeah. Definitely not. I'm not in a catering truck, yes girl. Yes, Cobra commander you are. I think that's so bad. You know, I don't like Chinese food. That's actually really good. It's, it's so funny. Like look at a GI Joe and there's like an episode where like a camera crew is coming

[02:17:09] to like the Joe's base and they're like, are you faking having this war with Cobra and creating all this technology? You're like, and I'm looking at this like, yeah, like, I'm like, this is like 1986 and a kid's show. And I'm like, we're living this shit now. Like, are you kidding me? Oh, I just love the fact Cobra commander is just like such a yacht. He's like, he's like, I can't believe it. This Joe is kissing Baroness on the camera. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with that? I don't know. I just seem so tacky. You know what? I'm going to call mum-ra up.

[02:17:38] And it's so funny seeing him call someone tacky. He's like, have you seen how giant your robe is lately? I have a shiny mask on and I don't know what the hell is. As long as it's not a Hannibal mask. I'm not Darth Vader, damn it. I'm not a fucking Darth Vader. You know how many variants there are of me for these sanction toys? Two. I know. And you look at this and you're like, the whole point of this is to sell merchandise. Yeah. And it's just totally military propaganda. I think because it's so entertaining.

[02:18:08] I love the theme song. It's still bops. And it's like, everybody, they parachute out. Everybody lives to fight another day. And then like, you look at the credits and the voice people. It's like a lot of the same people wrote directed crew were did gem. And you're like, hey, there's something for everybody. Something for everybody. The thing I've always cracked up about is Bill Ratner doing the voice of Flint on Family Guy. Yeah. You know, when he appears, I'm like, bring up Bill Ratner.

[02:18:34] But I remember like, I was like, we were always joking around because I had all the toys when I was a kid. And I was like, I can imagine Cobra Commander, Cobra Commander sitting and saying, Raker and Clutch are the same figure, except with different pairs. What's going on here? Oh my God. What? Careful. You're going to turn into Dr. Claw with that voice. I still have my gem cassettes. I can't remember. Oh yeah. Holy shit. Showtime synergy.

[02:19:02] So, you know, that, that was Hannah Montana. That cracked me up. Hey James, you got the touch. Um, but that cracked me up when it was Bigfoot and gem and what was supposed to be the big show. And gem was the show they tacked on. And then he realized gem was going to be the big thing. And I remember Bigfoot just disappeared and they had gem on and they had the one episode where it was like all the people that sounded that had the same names, like famous rock stars.

[02:19:29] And, uh, you know, the girl thought her dad was a rock star and he wasn't, you know, God, I remember that show. Yeah. My, my, make, make, make Jack, you know, it wasn't Jack. Not Mick Jagger, but everybody. Uh, so, but, uh, I gotta do one thing. I gotta do one, one thing to wrap it all up for us. Oh, sweet.

[02:19:49] Uh, Kristen, but the Sala, you, you, you have honored us with therefore I review and you've contributed to search magazine geek vibes nation in session film. What the hell are you promoting? You're never not on social media. You're never not going for a deep dive. Am I? I, um, mostly on blue sky at this point, I guess it's a safe space. Yeah. Um, I think they avoided it cause they're like, Oh, we can't post anything crappy on there.

[02:20:17] Ah, I have to explain, periodically explain it to people. Like, you know, you can't, you know, talk about serious film and that's like, you're a real fancy film critic without addressing, you know, what's really happening, but, uh, you know, like, hello. I don't want to do political. So the guy who was doing the newest political thriller. Yeah. Um, I had done a few things also for vampire videos. They're, they're the UK too. So they're like, we, we understand, we understand your vibe. You love yourself. Yeah. I'm like, I'm American. I can't help it. Sorry. Yeah.

[02:20:48] Uh, but, uh, well, what, what do you think, uh, makes you just jive with the whole blogging? You know, I've done it before and it is a lot. You have to really, really want to dedicate time doing everything. Um, uh, why do you think you, you see eye to eye with it? It just really is worthy of your time and your passion. I don't know that it is always worth time. Anyway. Well, guys, I'm going to bed. Okay. It's fine. I'm wrapping it up. Yeah. You know, I, I, I've gone beyond the point where I'm kind of like, I got to stay up and finish this.

[02:21:18] Cause I got to fight the algorithm and I got to have this out at the exact same time that it'll be, yeah, picked up by the spider platform bots. You know, it's like, I don't have time to do that anymore. I'm like, yeah, I'm tired. I go to bed. I'm old. Okay. Yeah. I'm, I'm, I'm at the point now where I'm just putting stuff on the, the, the, the film graveyard, which is the Facebook page. I have a plug. The graveyard is what we call it when we actually bury it.

[02:21:43] The film junkyard, the film junkyard, which I invite you to come and join if you're on Facebook. Um, Join the dark side, Kristen. Um, so I'm going to be, I'm going to be posting more stuff on there. There's going to be movies that'll be on there too. That'll be playing. You know, like it's August. It's, it's already horror season as far as I'm concerned. So yeah, for me right now, I think I'll be watching all three versions of Nosferatu. Oh yes. Um, and I, and I got it. And I got to say Eggers Eggers version.

[02:22:13] I watched it. I've watched it. And he, he did this. He did the, the, the, the book work. He did the book, the book work copy of a copy. Anyway. Well, no, I guess, I guess that he took, he took something, he took a lot from your now. He took some from, from her dogs, mixed it together and made stuff. And, and now, and he, and he made, he made this version of like the vampires, like this, like sociopath, you know, psychopathic.

[02:22:41] I'm just out for you. You know, like it's, it's like a, it's a, it's a, it's a story of obsession, you know? And that's what I loved about it. You know, pretentious. No, no, no, no. All right guys. I'm going to bed. Good night. Next week. We'll be talking GI Joe and Kolchak. Welcome back. I will not. I unfortunately have to be out of town next week. So I will see you then. If you want to talk from out of town, you can. I will. I'll try to. Okay. But yes, we'll keep us in the junkyard. Kristen, you're always welcome back for a party. Yes. Thank you.
