The Best Moments of the Terminator Saga with Gil, Mike, Oreo, Shahi Sabzevari (The Arnold Fans) & Filmmaker Jack Bennett!

My usual partners (Gil, Mike & Oreo) are rejoined by Blogger Shahi Sabzevari (The Arnold Fans) & Filmmaker Jack Bennett (Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary) to sum up their favorite moments of the TERMINATOR saga.

What moments in the comics somewhat predicted future movie sequels?

What are some great scenes that don't get talked about enough outside of the usual quotes & iconic clips?

We also get to discuss lesser known trivia, dissect the film music & some related conventions we've been to!

SONGS USED:

"The Day the World Went Away" by Nine Inch Nails (from Terminator: Salvation trailers)
"I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle" by Austrian Death Machine
"Break The Silence" by Erik Thunberg and Simon Viklund (from the Terminator: Salvation videogame)

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_12]: The Best Moments of the Terminator Saga with Gil, Mike, Shahi Sabzevari

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You and Evan lived until you've seen Arnold wearing a powder blue cowboy outfit.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh man. He looks very confused. He's just like, what am I doing here?

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm like his dancing shit with the beer that he was promoting back in the day. That shit was foaming.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_12]: It really was. I know Conan used to show celebrities and crazy Japanese ads.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_12]: Did you ever see his Japanese one where there's all these crap?

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that was some wild shit.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_12]: Some animated confetti and other stuff and he's just howling.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_12]: He usually does the Arnold laugh but he's like howling.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And unlike certain Hollywood stars, he would actually learn the Japanese.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He really heard it phonetically and it was just in little bits.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But I remember him going, Yosh! Pui puiii!

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And just crazy every cliché.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_12]: He has all these language coaches with him. So he's on it.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_12]: He wants to not limit his fan base, which is cool because I see other celebs who are like,

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_12]: I'll learn it but I'm going to half-ass it really.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_02]: They are the best. I think they're the best Japanese.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It's almost become a cliché at this point.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_02]: All those jokes about how weird Japanese commercials are.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Then you watch his and they absolutely are that weird.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_12]: So the Galaxy Quest connection to Arnold is Harold Ramis was originally supposed to helmet.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh wow.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_12]: And I wonder if Arnold would have been a creature or the bad guy in the makeup on that would have been fun.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_06]: That's not surprising. Harold has done very random projects to his career.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_12]: Right?

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_12]: And even as a producer you're like, that checks out.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_12]: It has that kind of mentality to it.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_12]: You see private parts in the trailer part boys movie.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_12]: You're like, yeah, I see why you put your name on that.

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_12]: Harold, you know that.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_07]: Does anybody know who dubbed his voice in Hercules in New York?

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_12]: I do. Well actually, okay.

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_12]: Well, so not for that one but I do know his current dumber.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_12]: You're going to love this.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_12]: Is Hergen Proknow, you know the Das Boot boat captain.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_12]: But you'll find this funny.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_12]: Hergen Proknow also dubbed Stallone in German.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_12]: So as a result when a scape plan came out people were very confused as to who's talking.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: He was a guy in demolition man right played one of the judges.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_12]: No, no, no, no.

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Legendary character actor, German character actor.

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_12]: If you've seen Dune or Wing Commander or Beverly Hills cop too.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_12]: He's always just the go to German bad guy who's.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Or beer fest, broken lizards beer fest 24 anytime they see him.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_02]: They had to ask him to pronounce his S is SH.

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like, no, you say like stable boy, you know, like you Germans do and he's like what?

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_12]: He has that blonde hair.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_12]: He's but each time you see him kind of like, how are you like this too good to be true.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_12]: He's going to probably be a trader.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He also played the older Arnold in a TV movie called see Arnold.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_12]: Yes, man.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm loving these deep cuts.

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I came out on any and I think the younger Arnold is played by the guy who was his was his body double.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, Salvation and Genesis rolling kick and you're and yeah, that's right.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the guy from some beach.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_12]: He did do some self offers.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_12]: I love these deep cuts.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_12]: I see this is why we all get along.

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_12]: We live and breathe this IMDb like we soak it up like a sponge and we don't.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm thinking that after her to New York, he made sure he was going to do the voices.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_07]: That's probably why you started getting kind of dead.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Wasn't wasn't that a guy named Arnold strong?

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_07]: That's right.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_07]: What a guy.

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_07]: That was his that was his build name in that too.

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Wasn't it?

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was did did the villain come out after stay hungry.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I think stay hungry was his first.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I think you're right.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_12]: 78 but don't you love that we got a Golden Globe nom for being Jeff Bridges friend?

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, that's that's a great start.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think he said yes for sure.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he even said I really got the Golden Globe for pumping iron because those came out in the same year.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So what he was saying was they saw how charismatic I was in pumping iron and then he he thought it was sort of like

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Diane Keaton getting the Oscar because Annie Hall and.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Say is he getting it for departed when you should have got it for early achievement, you know, it's what you get it eventually when I bring up the Diane Keaton thing it's because in the same year she did any hall and looking for Mr. Goodbar.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So it was like, she got the Oscar for any hall, but it was really for both of those things.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So with Schwarzenegger it's yeah he got a Golden Globe.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_12]: There's a bit of a few questionable ones where I think what was it Jamie Foxx got like best supporting and best lead the same year and like oh five you know, like rey and collateral and so it's like it's got to be tough to just do any of this billing like.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_12]: Don't you I'm sure she might remember this.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_12]: Do you remember when the Martian was getting a knob for like best comedy.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_06]: It's like, I remember when people thought he was actually stuck on Mars and they were trying to figure out how to get back home.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm not kidding.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_12]: No, I do.

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_12]: I remember that it's like, that just shows you how real the documentary format is for people. I'm like, oh, people please read.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Fucking movie.

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_12]: He's not like if I don't know if they thought dogs the quest was real.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Another one is Timothy Hutton best supporting actor for ordinary people. He's the lead actor.

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_07]: He's the lead actor.

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_07]: He just did that because Judd Hirsch was older than him or something.

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_12]: It's kind of like with the whole training day or science of the lamb's thing where the villain out shines the rest of the movie to where they're like, I guess they're the lead, even though they're technically second.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_02]: They submit for the award that they think they have the best chance of where.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's really what it is.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_07]: The most dialogue is the best.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_12]: Most dialogue indeed.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I really like something that Ray Seahorn said about better call Saul when she got nominated for best supporting actress.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_02]: She's the MVP of that show in a show full of.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_12]: They totally ignored her and like the bear and succession when everything and like, come on guys, give two awards to you.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_12]: For sure.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_02]: But also you watch that show and it's like it's wall to wall great performances and I still think she's the best one.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_02]: However, she said when they asked her how do you feel about being nominated for best supporting actor?

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: She said well in my mind there's one lead and then everybody else is supporting.

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So Bob's the lead and everybody else is.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she had a great attitude about it and buddy here see the first Terminator first or did anybody see the second one first.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, always second first.

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Whoa.

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not uncommon.

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_03]: It was on a VHS top loader on a black and white TV.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the first time I saw the first one.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_02]: How to play in black and white.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: This is all right.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Put the noir and tech noir, I guess.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_12]: You're right.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_12]: It's either that or Boydrunner.

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, tech noir.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember seeing that first one on VHS.

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_02]: That became one of those.

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Well it became one of those movies that you know my parents would go out and my younger brother and I would be left at home.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And one of the movies.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_12]: Let's go ransack the VHS guys.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_02]: 100%.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_12]: There's a failed recording.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me think about how when we were growing up, the Road Warrior and the Terminator were movies that we watched over and over again.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And I were like 10 and seven.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_12]: The first one wasn't widely available.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's these nihilistic sci-fi movies they really and then late a little bit later.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Pinnacle in a way.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure.

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But there's something to that.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: The hero dies at the very end.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_02]: We just thought that was awesome.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: We're watching this movie where the hero dies and we're like, oh, that's so cool.

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: No other movie does that.

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_12]: And it was so confusing when you first see it.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_12]: You're like, wait, what did he die from?

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, the bullet.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_12]: I thought he blew himself up with the dynamite.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I just rewatched the first two movies in preparation for this in the last week.

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I watched the first two.

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You go my dude.

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_12]: And isn't it wild how kind of like classic Star Trek they never get old.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_12]: Like we I was joking with Gil and Mike how they also understand time travel.

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_12]: They don't do it to death.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_12]: Like they explain it to you in a nutshell and say, go with it.

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_12]: If we linger on it too long, we open up the plot hole gate and you don't want to.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Part of the problem that fell in with the last what three four movies.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_02]: They lean on it too hard because I do want to ask our favorite moments tonight for

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_02]: the guys who saw Terminator first, you saw the Terminator first like myself.

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you remember what your impression was of that first movie?

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you remember how it affected you?

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I was free to.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I was blown away by it myself.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_12]: It's top motion and yet this thing about it is at, you know, you get the 80s slash

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_12]: equality when you're paying more attention to it, but like just the hold on easiness

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_12]: in those lingering shots of the garage.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: You're like, well, and the music was very discordant in that too.

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_03]: It was very.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_03]: So it hyped up the tension some.

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_12]: But it's one of those he does not get enough recognition.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_12]: Like I have a rare CD of let's get Harry.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_12]: Like I love to hunt down all his nice movie scores for other decent underrated

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_12]: movies, but he understood these two.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_12]: I think the first one he wanted to make, you know, freebie and build the

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_12]: atmosphere much like those have the same director editor, cinematographer.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_12]: He knew what to do when he came down to T2, which was now I want this to make

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_12]: this more intense, but not robotic.

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_12]: So to speak, like I want to make you feel like you're on the freeway with

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_12]: these guys.

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_12]: You're looking at the LA scenario.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_12]: Like yeah, some of the music you hear in T2 when he's saying, I'm going

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_12]: to stand guard, you know, and it's kind of like the Star Wars fade effect.

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_12]: It'd be cheesy if anybody else did it, but I just love it.

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_12]: You just, you don't have a cutaway.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_12]: You just see him looking outside the door, you know, bullets shells and

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_12]: everything and he's just standing there.

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_02]: The second movie really does go into this gigantic action spectacle.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: LA noir.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But when you watch that first movie, it's the only movie I can think

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: of when we were kids and, you know, Nova said fired a gun before

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: anything.

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It gets one of the few.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It's one of the few gun movies I can think of, right?

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_02]: That was that was unsettling.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean like genre movies, like usually you see it's very

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_05]: new. Yeah, we're sure.

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But like you see like a predator and every character has a

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: different gun and you're like a kid watching and going like, oh,

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: he's got that cool gun.

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He's got that.

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_02]: This is the only one I can think of where it was it was an

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: action movie.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a it was a gun movie, but it was scary.

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, legit unsettled.

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_12]: Don't ever listen to the score for T two at night.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_12]: You will get nightmares.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_12]: Trust me.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_12]: I almost crashed my work car when I was listening to it.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: As far as the gun play, you know, it was almost like a ballet

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_03]: with the gunplay for the first time that I go.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_12]: Much like that in the matrix, like they respect the audience.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_12]: I love how like look at lethal weapon one, the car chase

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_12]: at the end serves the movie.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_12]: You look at the sequels fun or like them, don't like them.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_12]: Take the car chases out.

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_12]: Nothing changes.

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_12]: So like I love it when people are like giving X an

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_12]: exposition down while they're loading the gun, you know, and

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_12]: while they're, you know, hacking into a computer mainframe

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_12]: while they're setting up traps, you know, you want to do

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_12]: two things at once so we don't get bored, you know, watching

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_02]: but speaking of that choreography thing like that

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: that idea when you say gunplay, I think you can draw

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: a correlation.

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator comes out in 1984.

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You can probably draw a correlation between like the

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Banzai back to the future.

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that was 80.

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_12]: Transcersed.

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But Terminator you can draw a correlation between the

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_02]: shootout and the bar and then that going into the mind of a

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_02]: younger John Woo in Hong Kong.

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And that that translates into all this balletic gunplay

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that then became his signature.

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I think the opening scene of Hard Boiled, maybe there is

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_02]: an evolution there.

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm absolutely speculating, but maybe there is an evolution

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: there of while I saw the way Cameron played with

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: perspective and he played with the call and response of

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the gun shots going back and forth.

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: All that sort of stuff.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_12]: The fact that we're still talking about these over

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_12]: three year old movies and we find something new on

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_12]: each viewing that is a good movie.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_12]: Like I still every once in a while encounter people

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_12]: they don't think much of these movies.

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_12]: They just think, oh yeah, I saw it once upon a time.

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_12]: Cool popcorn like, well, please, please rewatch it.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_12]: Like, but it's better than you remember it.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm not saying popcorn movies are bad necessarily.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm just saying it's deeper than you're giving

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_12]: credit for, you know, it's not.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_02]: What really struck me rewatching it the other night

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_02]: was how committed all the actors are and especially

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Michael B.

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And but you have someone like Paul Winfield who

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: is a legendary actor himself.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_12]: It's about trust.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_12]: Like, trust me.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_12]: This doesn't make sense, but I'm not.

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_12]: I mean the fact that much like Candyman you have

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_12]: the heroin escaping a psych ward, you know,

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_12]: she has used up her trust points.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_12]: People just think she's nuts.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, how do you get people to trust you in

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_12]: something that you have no proof of?

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, like anybody who she knows either gets

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_12]: killed or everyone's just like I'm having a bad

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_12]: night had too many lookers.

[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the only guy that she can trust is the guy

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_02]: who keeps saying I'm here to help you.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe survives long enough to say like,

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_02]: okay, you're the only guy who can help me.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_12]: That's the real fear, you know, is like plays that

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: part with the intensity of like a guy who just

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: got out of combat, you know, a guy who there's

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: a moment when he's in the police station,

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: they ask him how the time travel works and he

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_02]: goes, I don't know.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he's so single minded.

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And then my favorite part in it's not a cop out.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's not a cop out.

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_12]: I had the programmer do all this shit for me.

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_12]: And now I'm here.

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm the resistance fighter.

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_02]: My favorite moment in that scene is as he's

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: talking, the guy says, I don't know.

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't do that.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And he says, well, then who's an authority here?

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And as he's talking, the psychiatrist starts

[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: to talk again and Reese just goes, shut up.

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he camera doom says the rest.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But that like this guy is on the edge.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_12]: It was really clever with that.

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_12]: And everyone should watch it also just for the

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_12]: gorilla filmmaking aspect alone, you know,

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_12]: like they're doing film of this low budget movie

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_12]: without permits.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, Roger Corman style recipe and I guarantee

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_12]: you and Corman probably wishes.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh man, why didn't I produce that?

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you ever try to do something similar?

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_12]: Surprisingly no.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_12]: He did.

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_12]: He pretty much just got on the alien and

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_12]: he was like, I don't know.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_12]: Knock off bandwagon.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_12]: Maybe the closest you got is chopping mall,

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_12]: but you know, that's more just goofy.

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, people being hunted.

[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I guess.

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, actually.

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_03]: James Cameron did the spot piranha to the spawning.

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_12]: He got fired and.

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_12]: Surprisingly Corman didn't have any control over the

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_12]: piranha franchise.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_12]: It was one of those.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_12]: He got in bad with the Japanese investors and he had to surrender

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_12]: that property.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_12]: So.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course Cameron has disowned piranha and he says,

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_02]: that's not even one of my movies because it doesn't begin with

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: an A or a T.

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_02]: That's how you can tell.

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That's not a real.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_02]: There was I was talking about that with somebody recently for a

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_02]: long time James Cameron was going to direct battle angel Alita,

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but if he had been Alita.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Colin.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_12]: I was surprised when he gave it to Rodriguez since.

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, James gets along with everybody like you see him

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_12]: hanging out with Michael Bay and all these other filmmakers.

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_02]: He produced that version of Solaris that Steven Soderberg

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_02]: directed, which is far from a James Cameron.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why I wanted to see it.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_12]: I saw producer James Cameron, you know, I knew Soderberg,

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_12]: but I couldn't watch many of his movies out of the

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_12]: notions 11, you know, when you're.

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: If you listen to them talk on the commentary track,

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_02]: you can see how much James Cameron appreciates what

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Soderberg did, but he couldn't direct it because it

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: starts with an S.

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_12]: We think of him as an ego and a dick, but really he is there to

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_12]: collaborate. Like I'm sure you've heard how he and Tim Miller

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_12]: was like, they were cool for an hour and then you're like,

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_12]: okay, I'm going to step out of the editing room now because

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_12]: you and I are now differing.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_12]: And it's your movie.

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, I'm a consultant.

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_12]: It's, it's funny how everyone's got their limit and.

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_12]: But he really is down to collaborate on like say someone

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_12]: like the Palma or Coppola who's going to be like hands off

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_06]: buddy, you know, I think it's interesting.

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_12]: Like George Lucas, we love him.

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_12]: We hate some of what he's done, but same kind of deal.

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_12]: Like he's going to talk about, oh, you got to take a big step

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_12]: back and you can't come near me.

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's interesting that he doesn't fuck with other

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_06]: letters and A and Z.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_06]: But there's a tool fuck within the alphabet all the other

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_06]: 24 he stays away from.

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_06]: But it'll help produce.

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_07]: He'll help produce.

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_07]: It's interesting.

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_07]: I've never noticed that it's actually true then.

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes.

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you count, if you count the is a T the abyss,

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_02]: but also abyss with an A.

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Wow.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why he didn't want to direct the remake of

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Plan of the Apes.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: He was like, I can't do it.

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_12]: I forgot he was attached to that.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_12]: Did I ever tell you about the Spider-Man movie he did?

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_06]: That's an exact noir book.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_12]: So for those who don't know, he was going to do shout out

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_12]: to real comic heroes.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_12]: Love you Travis Bow.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_12]: He did a round table like where they reenacted and they

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_12]: spoke as the original cast of actors would have been.

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_12]: They used a draft where the Caprio was Spider-Man.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, well, I only knew how Charlie Sheen was attached

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_12]: to it for the longest time, which would have made

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_12]: sense to me, but Arnold was going to play Doc Ock.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Charlie, I think Charlie was pitching himself.

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he was ever actually attached.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Charlie wanted to do it.

[00:21:25] Yeah.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_02]: He probably would have been better than the freeze.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_12]: There you go.

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_12]: He had Tiger Blood as opposed to Spidey Blood.

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, you read that Cameron Spider-Man treatment.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It is amazing how edge lord he makes Peter Parker.

[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Just like Anxity Teen.

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_12]: From what they were reading, I'm like, yeah, this is ambitious.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_12]: And as much as we love Sam Raimi, you know,

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_12]: Evil Dead is a pioneer of the horror comedy and Terminator's

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_12]: kind of action sci-fi with a little horror in the first one.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_12]: But Gil just mentioned Mr. Freeze when Mr. Freeze

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_12]: won in a fight against any of these Terminator mods.

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_12]: Just with the puns.

[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_12]: I don't know.

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_02]: As long as he froze the T-1000 nowhere near molten lava,

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_02]: like whatever the molten lava factory is in the second movie.

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, downtown LA somewhere.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_12]: But to the music score, I always get shades of that

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_12]: even when I watch other movies made years later,

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_12]: like Movies, Inns, Song that plays in heat.

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_12]: Just that same kind of deal,

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_12]: just looking at this beautiful world

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_12]: and all the hostility contained within it.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_12]: Just that factor alone is just...

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_06]: There's a wonderful motif.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_06]: It sits.

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Because it's a lightning in the bottle mode.

[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Can't replicate that shit.

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely not.

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_06]: It's not the same.

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_12]: In fact, I even heard that same song movie did

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_12]: in a Visa Mastercard commercial last two years.

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_12]: I always get count.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_12]: Everyone's like, what do you mean heat?

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_12]: Like, a song for me?

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_02]: There were definitely synth scores at that time

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and, you know, John Carpenter and Tantra in Dream

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and all that sort of stuff was, you know,

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that was of the time, but it's the first one

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I can think of that felt muscular.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_02]: It has that clank in it.

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And then there's this fantastic motif that he does,

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: because it goes, pa-bum, pa-bum, pa-bum.

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's the big heavy sound.

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: But then over it is...

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Would you hear that done with different instrumentation?

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_12]: He's getting you ready for all the various other conflicts.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_12]: He's like, you don't know what you're hitting in for.

[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_12]: Battles or whatever.

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_12]: But there's a sadness to it too.

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a melancholy to it that I think Brad Fidel,

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: he brings that into the tone.

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It sounds relentless, but then there's this kind of

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: wistful thing happening in higher notes.

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_12]: Absolutely.

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, so...

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_12]: Was Sarah Connor your heroine growing up guys?

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_12]: For anyone?

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_12]: Because like that to me was just like,

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_12]: that was like a character I wanted to hang out.

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_12]: I wanted to...

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_12]: Me, the audience member, I want to help you.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_12]: Even though...

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_03]: At the time, the only other really female action hero

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I could think of is the Gordy Weaver's character in Alien.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_03]: There you go.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_12]: So he only has the pursuit.

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_12]: He doesn't really do that until he's realized.

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_02]: In the first movie, she really is more the dance-hall in distress.

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But then when it's...

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_02]: When you see that heart edge start to come in,

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_02]: it comes in little places.

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I just thought in that first movie,

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: she was cute as a button even with that horrible 80s hair

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_02]: that even she's embarrassed about.

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_12]: I think I have heard about that.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_12]: I think she is likeable.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, hey, innocent,

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_12]: work person,

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_12]: boring waitress job,

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_12]: got some dance studio buddies, working nine to five.

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, doesn't want any trouble.

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_03]: There's a quality to...

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I could say she certainly came full circle with that last movie

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_03]: that came out. She had more to do.

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_03]: In fact, Arnold doesn't even show up...

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Until about what? An hour into that movie?

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, then that's the thing. He was the surprise.

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's the thing about that first movie

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_02]: versus that second movie.

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You watch that first movie and I was thinking about

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_02]: how you could have cast a lot of other age-appropriate actors

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_02]: to play that part, to play Sarah Connor.

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And what she brings to it is,

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: a little bit of like what I was talking about with the music,

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_02]: there's a quality...

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_02]: There's an almost tragic quality to her.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: She's this sexy young woman,

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_02]: but then she's got this far away look in her eyes.

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: She's got this air of tragedy to her,

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: almost like a Hamlet kind of figure.

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I like this, yeah.

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And then when you see that...

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Got a broken kingdom?

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then when you see that transform in the second movie

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: into a woman, I would not want to fight

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_02]: if my life depended on it.

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: If she... She's kind of short.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And if she sidled up to me,

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: if she was running towards me,

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I would run the other direction.

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_12]: I would close down the shop and say,

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_12]: here are all the free Happy Meals.

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_03]: How did anybody feel about her character

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_03]: being killed off in the third one?

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, I didn't like that.

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_12]: Well, and they didn't even get the year right.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They couldn't fall back on.

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but...

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you a good moment.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_02]: The future is not set.

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what they'll fall back on.

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_12]: That is also true.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_12]: One thing I do like about T3

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_12]: that I just always thought was just perfect.

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_12]: By the way, you can't even undo this.

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_12]: It's all said and stoned, ending.

[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_12]: I love when Earl Bowen comes back as a psychiatrist

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_12]: and he's helping.

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_12]: He thinks it's just anything else.

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_12]: Just on the next break,

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_12]: just consulting a hostage negotiation,

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_12]: then he sees, oh, fuck.

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_12]: This guy looks like the same guy that's been here.

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_12]: And he just drops his doughnut just like that.

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_12]: See, that was fun.

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: The way that this series has progressed is so weird

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_02]: because again, I saw a Terminator on VHS when I was a kid.

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_12]: The comics are so diverse.

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_12]: You're like just a debt one of them.

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_12]: I remember when that first teaser came out

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_02]: for the second movie, the Stan Winston directed teaser

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_02]: that was just the assembly line.

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And then at the end, they put flesh on him

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's Arnold.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I remember when that teaser came out

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and we all went nuts.

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And then we go see the second movie,

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the biggest action movies ever.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And at the time, certainly the biggest action movie

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: any of us had ever seen.

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the third movie,

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it got made because the Matrix was a success.

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And they were like, what else do we got that's like the Matrix?

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_12]: Pirates is coming out, Bad Boys 2 is coming out.

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But as the time, looking at even the trailer

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_02]: for that third movie, I was like,

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but it doesn't have the orange and blue of the cinematography.

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't have the same feeling.

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't have the same quality.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I just rejected it as a ripoff of Terminator 2.

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Was Cameron even just attached to that?

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_12]: He refused to come back.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_12]: Well, I mean, you look at the original ending.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_12]: He was firm.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_12]: He was not going to take his foot off.

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_12]: He's like, I only want two movies.

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_12]: I will compromise.

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_12]: I'll keep those open since you are the producers

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_12]: and you've told me what you need, which is an open ending.

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_12]: But in my mind, this is it.

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_12]: And I don't think he saw it.

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_12]: I know he saw Salvation in a motel while he was shooting Avatar,

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_12]: which has got to be the weirdest way to watch any new Blockbuster.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_02]: The thing though about that third movie is at the time I was like,

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah, this sucks.

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And I rejected entirely.

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And now I'm looking back and it's the third best Terminator movie.

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the weirdest part.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_12]: I think everything gets better with age or worse with age.

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_12]: It really just depends on the mood that that one is definitely a moody

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_12]: movie to both its credit and to its discredit.

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_12]: I think just the other.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Sorry, the TV series takes place before the third movie.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_12]: Well, it doesn't acknowledge the third movie.

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, OK.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_07]: It's an alternate.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_12]: Parallel.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_12]: OK.

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_13]: OK.

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_02]: The TV series was pretty good.

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it.

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I like that.

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's why we brought the writer back.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_02]: It was dark fate.

[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was too bad with the TV series.

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_03]: They weren't able to wrap up some of that stuff.

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_03]: They'd get started on it.

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_12]: And Thomas Decker was a perfect John Connor and he had some great moments.

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_02]: When I think back to the third movie, my favorite part of it is definitely the ending.

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I remember that when the ending happened there,

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: that was kind of a, oh, wow.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: OK, kind of.

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_12]: I saw it.

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_12]: I want to say the late 2010s because it was on TNT for a while,

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_12]: remastered form and everything.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_12]: And I kid you not, like my mother hadn't seen it in a minute.

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, hold on.

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_12]: Like, and I kid you not, like the power of filmmaking, shiny, like she comes on in.

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, my sister's watching it casually, just something cool to do while she's doing a college paper.

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_12]: And you know, they're lowering him into the lava, you know, in order for John to survive.

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_12]: And I see my mother wiping her face away.

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm like, see that proof.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: It's shocking how emotionally effective.

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_12]: I remember that it, but I always thought.

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, the thumb people.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_12]: One thumb up.

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_10]: That's funny.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_10]: The funny thing about that.

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, I'm not sure what that's seen as that.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_10]: So my son is four.

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_10]: I probably am going to get in trouble.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_10]: Actually, I got in trouble school, but I showed him Terminator 2.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_10]: He's obsessed with Arnold like the race.

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_10]: Like he was in school and they asked him, like, oh, who's your favorite superhero?

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_10]: All these kids like Captain America suit, you know, Superman.

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_10]: He's Arnold.

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_10]: He's Arnold.

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_10]: And then like terminator specifically, but that T2 scene when I showed him like clips of it on YouTube.

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_10]: I don't want to show everything, but he literally started crying.

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_10]: Like just like, well, I did back in the theater back in 94.

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_10]: He's like, Arnold died.

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_10]: I'm like, no, Arnold's not dead.

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, this is Terminator.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_12]: It's the rather con moment.

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_12]: You'll always be my friend.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_12]: It just has that.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_12]: It doesn't matter how many times you've seen it.

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_12]: It's just, it doesn't feel fake.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_12]: It doesn't feel melodramatic.

[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_12]: It's a rare testament that just because we're a side by blockbuster doesn't mean you can't take us seriously, you know.

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, Shatner's no on that.

[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just so, it's perfect.

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_14]: Which says a lot.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_07]: The way he says that one little word just it's so, it's so right on.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Have you seen Leonard Nimoy on online making fun of Shatner's performance at the end?

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really?

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the most affecting thing in the movie.

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Like when he almost cries, but you see,

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_12]: That sounds like best friend Frank in each channel.

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Leonard Nimoy says, and Bill goes,

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I have all my friends.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: He was the most human.

[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just Leonard Nimoy making fun of him.

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And the context of the movie, it's like,

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care that I know he comes back in the third one.

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll still cry.

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_02]: When I was saying the ending of my favorite part,

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I meant the third movie and the second movie,

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_02]: my favorite part is definitely,

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_06]: my favorite moment in the movie is now when Sarah Connor's

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Carl 100.

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm only going to go to a tv show at a time and you're like,

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and I was like,

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we got to work together and we're like,

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: time when she steps out behind it's the sister and then it

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_02]: cuts to a close up and it's Linda and they really clearly

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: planned all that stuff out about Debbie Evans.

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_12]: For all the wait, stunt woman.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_12]: She's gone on to have a big prolific career too.

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_12]: Doubling Miss Andre Bullock and Speed and Michelle Rodriguez

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_12]: in the Fast and Furious movies.

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh wow.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_12]: And she's like one of the big chairman I think of the stunt

[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_12]: guild I think.

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_03]: So wow.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_03]: For all the weaknesses of that third movie there was two

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_03]: scenes in it I really like that was the bathroom fight scene

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_03]: where someone gets hit with a urinal or toilet or something.

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know and then also the car chase scene with the

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_03]: truck in the cranks.

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that was good shit.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_12]: And you're right because no one else unless you have the

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_12]: specific key can access that you know and she's just showing

[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_12]: you hey I'm from the future I don't need permission to

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_12]: access all these deadly things I'm now using as a weapon.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_12]: I remember seeing it in 05 and then a few years later you

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_12]: know on cable TV and it was weird how the graphics look fine

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_12]: done DVD but they kind of dated pretty quickly on subsequent

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_12]: releases and that but it was still like Jurassic Park.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_12]: They're still using some mechanical stuff.

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: You can disconnect the third movie from the first two

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_02]: movies.

[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a perfectly good movie like it's kind of like the

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_12]: Freddy Jason angle is like okay can't measure up to that

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_12]: but if you want a continuation of this character

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_12]: just you know go with it.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_03]: That last the last Terminator movie kind of jumps over 3,

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_03]: 4 and 5.

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, and it's I remember when the trailer for the

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: fourth movie came out and for salvation and your life.

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That's one of the greatest teaser trailers I think this

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_02]: ever made that night.

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_12]: It's hard to point away.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I watched that trailer saying this is the movie I've

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_02]: been waiting my whole life to see then I proceeded to

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_02]: watch a movie in which Skynet holds John Connor's future

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_02]: father hostage as bait so they can finally kill John Connor

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and I said wait a minute.

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a computer and I've got a great idea.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And the best thing about his father hostage so he'll

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: come in so you can kill him.

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_09]: Wait a second.

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, the best thing about salvation is you can switch

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_09]: Sam and Christian's roles and it would still be epic.

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, that's what I told you about the rejected script.

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_12]: Did you ever know about it Jack?

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I did and that whole idea too because Christian Bill was

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: offered the part of Marcus.

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He said I'd rather play John Connor they said John

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Connor is not even in this needs to well make him bigger

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'll play it and then just kept going in that

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: direction to the point where the end of the movie is

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_02]: completely undermined from the original attention which

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_02]: was they swap John Connor's face with the term it would

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_02]: have been more impactful to keep John Connor alive as a symbol

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_12]: because even if it didn't work for everybody it would still

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_12]: be like you say creative.

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but they say no we gotta listen I really can't

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: stand Terminator Salvation because it's such a missed

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_02]: opportunity there's so much.

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_12]: You know they had almost good but this is why I invited

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_12]: you and Shahi because like that Terminator is the rare

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_12]: fandom where everyone gets along.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_12]: It's not like I'm really like I have yet to see anyone just

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_12]: be so toxic to where like dude Terminator is nothing but

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_06]: already propaganda.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know they had to do the thing where the you

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_03]: know they're with the boss woman for the 10 man had

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_03]: to give the guy his heart.

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_12]: It is.

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, cuddly.

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_12]: I and he goes a Rambo against him in the factory you're like

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_12]: come on guys.

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: One of my writing partners always says they spent an entire

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_02]: scene in which the Terminator guy says he doesn't know what

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_02]: he is that ends with Christian Bale saying what are you

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and he says I don't know.

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like he just spent a whole scene saying I don't know

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: what I am.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, why do you then say what are you even yet?

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: There is nobody's thinking about the story implications

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: of anything.

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: They you'd be cool if you go what are you will put the

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_12]: trailer and let much like Mike and Oreo here I do prefer

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_12]: the director's cut because you at least could see a dark

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_12]: tension and more moon but blood goods resistance fighter

[00:37:07] [SPEAKER_12]: but like you say there is some moments that it makes

[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_12]: you wish that McGee could have just said okay Christian

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_12]: get your ass out of the editing room you're the star

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_12]: not the director.

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_12]: It is a like even Jack Bauer on 24 would have been like dude

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_12]: you're not even doing interrogation the right way just

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_12]: that movie make it to man I would ask a question you already

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah it's well produced it looks great and it just doesn't

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_02]: make a lick of sense it didn't need the transform it feels

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_02]: like eight different scripts crammed together and it just

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_02]: holds like an egg it's the giant bots weren't needed

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_12]: at all they're just like they I enjoyed those chases but at

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_12]: the same time is like I wish it was just like spacecraft

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_12]: chasing them not a giant auto bot.

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Well yeah they had like the Terminator motorcycle the

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Terminator fish or shark or whatever the heck it was.

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_12]: It's snake I called it but yeah I it's like keep him human

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_03]: or human looking.

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah because because like you say like I've heard some

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_12]: reviewers say it felt more like a bow stark a like episode

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_12]: hmm which kind of works for the Valverde connection.

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_12]: You've got it and I'm not gonna say that but you know I would

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: say that the Terminator series as it goes on I kind of

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: feel like it gets worse with every successive movie except

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_02]: the egregious crimes of Terminator Genesis make that my

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: least favorite movie of the whole series.

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the thing that the thing that any sequel or prequel

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_02]: should never do is invalidate the original movie it should

[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_02]: only build the original movie and I wonder they made John

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Connor a bad guy and they give it away so you're like one

[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_02]: thread.

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah but they took the one thread of that from the

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: abandoned Terminator Salvation script.

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_12]: She and I talked about this too how we like the earlier

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_12]: movies because they don't overdo the being flung you

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_12]: don't suspend your suspension of disbelief and here is

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_12]: like let's rip off the speed bus chase.

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_12]: Let's do this and that is like and let's throw on every

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_12]: other scene like even Rambo is not this crazy.

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_12]: Come on just your gears like just throwing ideas at the wall

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_12]: yeah it literally is ideas being thrown you're like hey

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_12]: exactly and we make the guy chasing him be a team with

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_12]: thousand and we blow him up right away so anybody does

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_02]: anybody disagree with me though does anybody put Terminator

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_03]: is a Genesis right that's the name of it.

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's not my favorite there are certain moments in it I

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_12]: like but it is not the doctor who actor being cast as the

[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_12]: Skynet I was like I understand that it's just like J

[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Courtney I kind of like seeing old Arne confronting his

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_03]: younger self that was fun but like that scene like the

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I literally shoot the original movie in the face.

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's the thing that it's like listen yeah make

[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: him new movie play with the time travel do all that

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff when you literally say fuck you original movie and

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: then shoot the original movie in the face so it doesn't it

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't happen anymore because of what they did to me that's

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_02]: that's what you do when you make a prequel that completely

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_02]: pulls the rug out from the original movie but all that

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_02]: being said I think we can probably all agree that the

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: best movie in the series is probably one or two.

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah yes what would you rank those other three movies as

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_02]: though who who likes what the most I'll take salvation

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_06]: any day.

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, I got to go with dark fate like and I'll tell you why

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_12]: like I took a mixed I took my siblings to it who haven't seen

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_12]: everything and they all responded to so similar experience

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_12]: when I took my sister and my best filmmaker buddy to

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_12]: Blade Runner 2049 you know and they've only seen that

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_12]: since their main beef is just John Connor dying at the

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_12]: beginning and I can understand that I don't think they

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: had an alien three.

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah fair enough remember all that stuff you're invested in

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_02]: the last movie bang.

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_12]: I guess it's a lot to take in all at once I just like I'd

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_12]: like David Goyer's dialogue you know his profane dialogues

[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_12]: I think that is right for Sarah Connor she's like and how

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_12]: she knows you know this is it.

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm passing the torch someone else is going to have to

[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_12]: undermine all this stuff all other cyber dying guys who are

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_12]: trying to make this.

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Sky I mean they killed off John Connor which was a bad thing

[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_03]: but it gave her purpose to be able to train this new one that

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_12]: comes probably why the day so you guys are both right like

[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_12]: it makes sense it's just heavy handed and how they

[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_12]: introduced that I guess I didn't care either way because

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_12]: I'd always heard bad things about for long you know behind

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_12]: the scenes beating up.

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Women so I basically he's a trouble it's basically saying

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_03]: the Terminator 2 she's they succeeded in doing what they

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_03]: were going to do in Terminator 2 that's basically what

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_03]: they're saying yeah but then along comes this new future

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_03]: the still involves terminators right could potentially

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: segment it and your fan continuity and say well that's

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: just one thread it one thread goes like this and Terminator

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: 3 is another in this right they have built into the premise

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: they have string theory.

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's I love the Marvel Universe approach it's sort of

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_03]: like the Marvel Universe approach to time travel whereas

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_03]: every action you make doesn't change your timeline it creates

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_03]: a new one.

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah right I'm going to drop an awesome photo that shows

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_12]: the whole timeline here.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey what about the what about the Arnold fans and it did

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: feel to me you know just speaking I'm gonna have I'm

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_02]: going to say to you as an emissary for all fans of Arnold

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Schwarzenegger when he pops up in these movies like obviously

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_02]: he's practically the lead in the third movie then he's a CGI

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_02]: cameo in the fourth movie when he pops up in dark fate or when

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_02]: he pops up in Genesis like what's what's the feeling

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_02]: when Arnold shows up in these in these sequels.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah very very good question so and I mean my personal

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_10]: opinion it's like for for Genesis I mean I got excited

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_10]: when I saw the T-800 that was sent back to you know like

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_10]: they really come reenact the scene from the original 1984

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_10]: term here but it seemed like the hops versus the old you

[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_10]: know 1984 T-800 I enjoyed that scene I actually thought it

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_10]: was pretty cool.

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_10]: I remember when I was a kid I was like imagine a good

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_10]: term there like a T-800 versus a bad T-800 kind of kind

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_10]: of how I thought about it but after that moment I wasn't sure

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_10]: where I was gonna lead with that and it just kind of it's

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_10]: kind of like they tease us with the 1984 in the beginning

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_10]: and then it just kind of like it's like a totally different

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_10]: dynamic and then you know and then you also have you know

[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_10]: an older pops than like a really older pops and it just

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_10]: it just feels different like with the whole like I mean what

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_10]: when I saw that part again it's like I was excited but like

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_10]: what what what the Genesis I felt like they didn't make it

[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_10]: to come eat comedic like like T-3 because T-3 I think they're

[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_10]: putting a bunch of comedic puns in there and it was kind

[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_10]: of like okay.

[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think off the biker bar in the second movie I

[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_02]: think I think they're pushing that tone essentially kind

[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_10]: of and then you push to dark fate and you know just like

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_10]: Gilbert says he has to show show up until later on and you

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_10]: have you know he's in the drapery business and did your

[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_02]: audience cheer in the theater when he showed up when they

[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_02]: opened the door and there he was.

[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_10]: I don't think they cheer to be honest but I saw theaters

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_10]: I didn't see it.

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_10]: See they they cheered it was just kind of like what the heck's

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_10]: going on and then like he's sitting like you think about T-800

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_10]: sitting down you know on a you know you got my job to T-800

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_10]: ways and he's sitting on this like.

[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_12]: I like when they're picking up Robocop and Parfri or like

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_12]: give me your break there's no way.

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_10]: But honestly like I think that they're both from Skydance

[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_10]: films like I just feel like the vibes everything got to

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_10]: look like.

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_10]: I mean it's like very very similar.

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_10]: And I think if you look at from T-3 to Genesis and dark fate

[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_10]: like the ending it's they're almost they're almost identical

[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_10]: you think about it like you know protect and you know protect

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_12]: my Sarah I got studios are giving too many notes we're like

[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_12]: come on.

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a different theory about about that specifically but

[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I but just what you were saying about those latter three

[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_02]: movies.

[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that he's the best thing in Terminator 3 Genesis

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and dark fate easily.

[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why I like him so much in those is that in

[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_02]: the first movie we have a really well cast limited actor

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and who's just perfectly cast as a robot but he brings that

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_02]: charisma and he brings that you know that presence

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_02]: of his he takes the make up service incredibly physical

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_02]: he's like an incredible physical performer from the

[00:47:15] [SPEAKER_02]: first movie right then you get to that second movie

[00:47:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's astonishing how he never doesn't play the

[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_02]: robot.

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: But as the robot he brings so much subtle gravity and

[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_02]: pathos to that part and then he does that again in every one

[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_02]: of those movies even the third movie they're making a common

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_02]: character.

[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_02]: He has weight to him that nobody else in the movie I mean

[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_02]: next all I think is actually really good as he's so

[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_12]: underrated I mean I've always like but that was a big

[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_12]: year you go from disturbing behavior to then another

[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_12]: sure the man without a phase and then this and then since

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_12]: city and I don't know why the start took off as much he's

[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_12]: such a likable guy.

[00:48:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He was another troubled guy too and it's like Thomas Decker

[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_12]: years so there you go.

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_12]: I like I called the Anakin Skywalker curse we love this

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_12]: character but we don't always care for every person who's

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_12]: portrayed him you know.

[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Well that's and that's the other thing about those

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_02]: kinds of actors is you have a guy who's like you know

[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_02]: a younger cuter guy and then gets cast in these intense

[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_02]: roles and then the intensity is what they're known for and

[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_02]: then they sort of start to age out of the younger cuter guy

[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_12]: I do what they're famous for anymore so you're like or

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_02]: or they won't embrace being a character actor like the

[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_12]: cyborg playing they do it to cam on the TV show and I

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_12]: like that too how everyone else who's seen her in the

[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_12]: past like I don't want that thing anywhere near me

[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_12]: I know she's reprogrammed but his her name and Sarah

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_07]: doesn't trust her it's yeah.

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_12]: And what a good pilot you start off you say the signature

[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_12]: line everyone is you know it technically doesn't make

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_12]: sense to hold company if you want to live but I guess

[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_12]: you can you can let it you can make it make sense in

[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_12]: your head because it's not only just fanfare but it's

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_12]: also we can also just we can make up in our minds how

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_12]: it is that all these models all say that same thing

[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_12]: you know it's like maybe they're programmed a

[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_12]: certain way.

[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Right but also I like summerglau like those are

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_02]: two really good actresses.

[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_12]: She's a person to be around I hear I hear she is just so

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_02]: on it like she I love that the sweet faced actress plays

[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the Terminator and then the healy eyed actress plays

[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Sarah Connor.

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_07]: My God and the TV series is very consistent you hold

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_07]: your interest for two seasons you know I really like

[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_12]: that so and they had Twitter on their side when

[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_12]: someone didn't like how John had a girlfriend who was

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_12]: going to get them killed like they said hey can you

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_12]: rewrite that and they said OK yeah let's people are

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_12]: losing interest after two episodes place right time

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_12]: and yet still wasn't enough but people still dig it

[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_12]: people still talk about it so I mean and kudos to

[00:50:05] [SPEAKER_12]: director David Nutter who had worked on full moon

[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_12]: and X files and everything he had the same kind of

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_12]: mind just create this freaky suspense.

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_07]: There's some great like the bodies in the swimming pool

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_07]: and yes Johnny Cash is yeah I got to go over to the girl.

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_12]: So you got to go to the effects house.

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Well yeah almost human that's the late Rob Hall that

[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_02]: was his shop and he did effects for a lot of movies

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_02]: he did a lot of like low budget movies and and then

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_02]: he was a director as well and he did the Sir Connor

[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Chronicles and we you walk into a shop and there it is

[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_02]: there's the skinless T 800 that he created and he just

[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_02]: he wanted it just like they had in Stan Winston's

[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Stan Winston's showroom and you could go right up to

[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_02]: this thing and look at all the intricate design of

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_02]: it and how every piece they there was a lot of love

[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and care put into certainly the practical I'm glad

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_12]: you got to meet him.

[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I'm glad to and that whole thing to sort of

[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_02]: clue me in I think I I think I started watching the show

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_02]: after that shop visit that was about 10 years ago at this

[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_02]: point.

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_12]: Damn but that but Thomas Decker was even in fear clinic

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_12]: so what a tribute.

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_02]: There you go yeah your clinic and the Chrome skull movies

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you know was it late.

[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_12]: Those are fun movies.

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_12]: I promise those two.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, yeah, everyone look at the chat now I got the

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_12]: grass in front of us.

[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay, so do you think that checks out.

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_10]: Dear God looks like looks like something from Doc Brown

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_10]: for a second.

[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_10]: Let me see.

[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, yeah we could use a DeLorean right about now.

[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_02]: But but Terminator Genesis is still connected to the

[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator it just validates it right.

[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the only flow I see in this.

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, it's not perfect.

[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_12]: So I just figured yeah what would you change about this

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_12]: in like this.

[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_03]: It is there it is the movie that has the most time travel

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_12]: is Sarah Connor Chronicles is kind of a sequel.

[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_12]: Dark Fate is kind of a sequel to that so that's the only

[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_12]: thing I thought of but I like how battle across times

[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_12]: and alternates ending you know the theme park right.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait hold on a second so I'm looking at this.

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay now never mind now I understand I had that moment

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_02]: of like when did Sarah Connor die and try to remember

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_02]: that you know my favorite part of Terminator 3 besides

[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_02]: the ending my favorite part of Terminator 3 is the deleted

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_02]: scene.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: The one the famous Sergeant Candy Candy so I love that scene

[00:52:43] [SPEAKER_02]: because I love fun fact off.

[00:52:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But the performance is great and whoever is dubbing him

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_02]: over is really leaning into what a goofball he looks like

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_12]: so he had as well in their review but oh my God.

[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Are you sure he dubbed because I know he did an act

[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_12]: says someone definitely definitely dubbed.

[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Sergeant Candy.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_12]: It's not his register at all so fun fun yet it's technically

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_12]: still canon because it's in the T free redemption video game.

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay cool.

[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Well like they have it in a canning it's so important

[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_02]: because the question we've all been asking from the beginning

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_02]: why does this fucking robot have a German accent

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_02]: an Austrian accent rather and they answered why the guy says

[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about his voice and then you just see this

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_02]: little guy go we can fix it and it's clearly Arnold dubbing.

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_12]: Well and that I wish they could have explored that more

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_12]: because like Robert Patrick said in an interview when he was

[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_12]: promoting we are Marshall and he was going to work with

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_12]: McGee again everything he has sense on some of his TV shows

[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_12]: but when he found out he was slated the direct salvation

[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_12]: he's like yeah we talked about how I could play

[00:53:55] [SPEAKER_12]: the human who inspired design the 1000 I'm like see that would

[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_12]: be right instead of paying Helena Bonham Carter for a cameo as

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_12]: Marcus mutters like yeah they could have explored some of

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_12]: the other maybe mechanics.

[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they only didn't do that because of the Lantan

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Rickson alien thing and basically it would feel too much

[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_02]: like a one to one copy of the bishop and then creator

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_02]: of the ship stuff but I but also with with regard to all that

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_02]: do you all know this story of this alternate version of Terminator

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_02]: 2 that would have started Michael B in is the 2 1000.

[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_12]: I think I did hear about that.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_12]: That was considered it was decided was that in the special

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_02]: features or no what what they said what I think what it

[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_02]: was is they wrote he wrote the movie and then when they

[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_02]: were talking about who should play the T 1000 like while

[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_02]: he was writing it he was imagining it would be Michael

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_02]: B and so you would have standing back someone who is

[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_02]: under actor James but that's that's the thing it was just

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_02]: decided it would be too confusing for the audience actually

[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_10]: I'm happy they didn't do because then it would have felt

[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_10]: like an accelerated Terminator genesis but we already got

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_12]: the you already got the extended cut where we see him

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_12]: you know the hallucination of him talking to Sarah

[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_02]: that's good enough that's the one part that feels like a

[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_02]: missed opportunity is well why didn't at some point the T

[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_02]: 1000 imitate Cal Reese and I guess the answer in the contact

[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_12]: with them right he didn't kill him yes.

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But that would have been cool if there was one scene like

[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_12]: but that's the other issue too I've gotten into bait

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_12]: says to other people who he flings versus kills but

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_12]: doesn't take the form of and I'm like in my mind the

[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_12]: that's a nice bike I'm thinking he killed the cop just to get

[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_12]: that but what do I know you know form.

[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_02]: He does like he doesn't necessarily kill the cop in

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_02]: the beginning and it's like the pilot but he didn't put his

[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_02]: hand on him you know yeah there's I mean there's a lot

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_02]: there to he's a passive sleeper.

[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_02]: My whole thing with Terminator 2 because the first movie

[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_02]: well the first movie has always been my favorite and

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_02]: then you start watching the second movie and like no never

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_02]: mind this is my.

[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But then also the extended version of the original Terminator

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I think is kind of perfect because it actually puts in that

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_02]: the reference to Cyberdyne and it's maybe 5 minutes longer

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and then I love the extent of an extended version of T1

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_02]: there's only like 5 extra minutes it's you have Paul

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Winfield and then Samson driving around in a squad car

[00:56:34] [SPEAKER_12]: did they just put the deleted scenes back in I guess

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_02]: that's what it is but I have seen it cleaned up where it doesn't

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_02]: have that thing where it goes back and forth in quality like

[00:56:43] [SPEAKER_02]: they just stuck in deleted scenes. But also there are little

[00:56:46] [SPEAKER_02]: beats that I really liked that when I watched the theatrical

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_02]: version without realizing I see what you're talking about

[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_12]: it's a fan of it.

[00:56:53] [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not a fan at it's on the DVD that I have.

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the T for T tier T1 for the first one for that's

[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_02]: weird I've never all Winfield hands them the gun

[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and he says protect Sarah like that's in the movie in on the

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_02]: DVD it's not in the movie that you can watch streaming on Prime

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_02]: or it's not in theatrical release. That's why little little

[00:57:14] [SPEAKER_02]: things like that anyway. Terminator 2 I can't find this

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_12]: anywhere you're gonna just show me the DVD the extended

[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_02]: edition of Terminator 2 I love so much because I love that

[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_02]: scene where the Terminator has the chip pulled out and

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_02]: they could smash it right there and then the whole thing.

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I love the Terminator trying to smile. I love all that stuff

[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_02]: but then somewhere around the middle of the what 40 minute

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_02]: action climax of Terminator 2. I'm just exhausted that thing

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_02]: just keeps going and going it's like the siege on Cyberdyne

[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_02]: the shootout with the police.

[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_12]: What happens to the step parents? Yeah, when Miles

[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Dyson blows up like that the part of the stakes in the movie

[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_02]: have been lowered for me. You know like I and there's actually

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_02]: in the extended version of Terminator 2 there's a great

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_02]: scene with him working on the microchip and his wife comes

[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_02]: in like I really love that extended version and then I

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_02]: realized why they had to cut it back when you get to the

[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_02]: climax because it's not relentless. It just feels

[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_02]: endless. It's like he fights the cops then they get away

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_02]: then they're doing another truck chase another truck chase

[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_02]: the helicopters chasing the truck then they crash in the

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_02]: steel mill and then the T 1000 gets frozen and then he's

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_02]: unfrozen and then they're running through the steel like

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_02]: it just keeps going and going and going and going in a way

[00:58:41] [SPEAKER_02]: that now when I watch it is a little tiresome. Well, because

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I watch the for all the term for all the tedious parts of

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_02]: the first movie for all the stuff that maybe didn't age

[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_02]: so well. There's a quality of that first movie where it really

[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_02]: is still fast paced. Yeah, it's relentless from beginning

[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_02]: to end and but then also it's less than 2 hours long and it

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_02]: feels like a bullet was fired out of a gun in the first

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_02]: scene and then a rocket's all the way to that end. And even

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_02]: even the even the sex scene is kind of edited like an

[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_02]: action movie in the first and then the second movie

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_02]: it's gigantic. It's spectacular but I kind of know at this

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_02]: point that they're not going to kill Sarah or John and I'm I

[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_02]: don't know there's something about.

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God, it's like what do you say what people say about

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_02]: the return of the King ending. You know okay that could

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_02]: have been the ending okay that could have been the ending

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_02]: okay that could be the ending.

[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_12]: I agree in theaters. I think everyone just you know God

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and they kill the Terminator then he comes back they

[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_02]: freeze Terminator and then he comes back you know all that

[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_12]: sort of like back to not unusual kind of repetitiveness

[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_12]: that when anyone else seems to do it like it just doesn't

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_02]: work. It's the same structure that I love about aliens but

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_02]: in aliens it's still a body count throughout you were

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_02]: still losing our favorite characters and it all builds

[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_02]: up to the moment when oh my God she has to go back.

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Terminator 2 it's just they keep running.

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_02]: They keep running.

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Right I mean you know I feel like I'm probably alone in

[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_02]: this criticism.

[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm still saying it's one of the greatest movies ever made.

[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_12]: Every criticism is valid I think.

[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_02]: About the extended cut too though right.

[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But even watching the non extended cut even watching

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: the theatrical version it does feel like the action

[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_02]: climax goes for so long and does so many reversals that

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: it just the air goes out of that action climax for me by

[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_02]: the end.

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_07]: It's interesting.

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_07]: You brought the chips into a lot more of the chips in

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_07]: the TV series.

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh sure.

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah they probably picked it but that wasn't actually in

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_07]: the theatrical release the.

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah that in the scene where he smiles when they're

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_12]: testing out the guns on the ranch.

[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh that's so funny and he says it that made it in Genesis

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_15]: he says I basically look like a horse that's trying to smile.

[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_03]: My main criticism for all except for maybe salvation is the

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: time travel aspect they all established that they have to

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_03]: be you know it has to be covered in human skin right

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: and so you got the liquid Terminator in the second one

[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_03]: who's like okay he has what looks like skin but it's still

[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_03]: liquid metal right.

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_03]: He traveled through time and it's how does it not melt his

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_12]: skin off before yeah yeah or or it's like the whole why does

[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_12]: when he rip his clothes off out as it always just go yeah.

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Got a comic where Bruce Banner goes into like a clothing

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_03]: store and he gets like like the same white shirt.

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_03]: He has to be a very intimidating customer.

[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Bants.

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_07]: There was a joke on the old Bob Newhart show when he's a

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_07]: psychiatrist one of his patients says I didn't know what size

[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_07]: to get my wife so I got her a stretch dress.

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_07]: Kev is probably inspired by the Hulk you know I know they're

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_12]: working on an anthology show live action as well as they're

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: working on a Bob Newhart anthology show. No no no I

[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_02]: went off on a weird tangent.

[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_12]: It's a Terminator one for Max I think it's in the word.

[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not flux.

[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay well either way.

[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_12]: Wouldn't it be sure he have you ever read the secondary

[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_12]: objectives comic.

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_12]: So it is kind of like Dark Fate where they send a T-800

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_12]: model in he's too light to kill one of the resistance

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_12]: leaders so he pretty much just coexist you know for

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_12]: about whatever's timeline in LA that he's in and I always

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_12]: thought they should adopt that one kind of like when you

[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_12]: read a good AVP comic you're like that would actually work

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_12]: as a movie you know.

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: They kindly loosely adopted like that predator comic for

[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: the second one.

[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_12]: In a way that and the rumor that they were going to do

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_12]: Ram over his brother kind of factored into prey you got

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_12]: a native American you know taking on the creature.

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I wish with my heart of hearts that alien 3 would have

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: been the dark horse comic but the adult newt that would

[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: have been amazing that had some of the best the best

[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: versions of those story beats from the first two alien

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: movies were in that dark horse.

[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_12]: It would have been fun yeah.

[01:03:41] [SPEAKER_12]: It's kind of like how we should have just seen

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_12]: Frank Miller's version of Robocop instead of the studio

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_12]: giving him notes it we kind of are learning from this

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_12]: whole conversation a lot of those first two movies were

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_12]: in the right place at the right time and then the other

[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_12]: stuff was kind of you got a copy and paste some and

[01:03:59] [SPEAKER_12]: then you got to do your own voice here and there but

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_12]: it's ultimately too many cooks so it's high and plus

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_06]: 2000 what we talked about.

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It feels to me like kind of like when they did them

[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: up it's after Jim Henson died and you're doing something

[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_02]: that came naturally to someone else but you're but you're

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_12]: imitating and then by the time a studio takes it over

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_12]: it really is not anywhere close like what Muppet movie

[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: did he die before 99 so yeah.

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Jim Henson was around for all the Muppet movies

[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_02]: though all the first three Muppet movies and then

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_02]: his son directed Christmas Carol but that's the thing

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_02]: is like around that time Henson had sold it to Disney.

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So then you have Disney saying okay this is what the

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Muppets are to us so you watch the James Cameron movies

[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_02]: he's just doing his James Cameron thing the 2015

[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_12]: mockumentary show they did I think was the closest

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_12]: they ever got to Muppets tonight but but even that

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_02]: is still yeah, imitating the personalities that were

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: natural to those performers so you're you got a guy

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to do what Frank Oz would have done rather than

[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: just being Frank Oz and.

[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Show your hand of a puppet's ass and say hey look it's

[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Groover.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And professional dammit.

[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Marifazi.

[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_03]: No.

[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_07]: Sometimes that works with franchises like the bond

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_07]: when Daniel Craig came in they kind of rebooted that

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_07]: yeah you got you got Star Wars it's like okay.

[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_07]: You know the first the original three years.

[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_07]: All five and six what I however it goes we're still the best

[01:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: ones we don't have to be crap shoot with right you with

[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: quality because.

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: What you have is okay I mean I put my own stamp on it and

[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: it's either going to be accepted or rejected and you

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_12]: have that thing like that device that this just it's not

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: needed you know well Terminator hasn't been remade yet

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: has it well.

[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_10]: I was gonna add to that so actually.

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_10]: So Terminator actually there it's coming that well it's

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_10]: gonna be a cartoon it's gonna be Terminator so it is going

[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_10]: to be from Skar dance studios also so that's the people make

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_10]: dark fate and Genesis so I'm just I think they're trying

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_10]: to have it like that anime kind of feel to it.

[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Wow.

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_15]: I don't want to see Terminator as anime I don't it's

[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_15]: great though because I get to literally fall in my

[01:06:29] [SPEAKER_15]: performance.

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_15]: Whiskey Lulu in the booth with me as I'm falling

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_15]: in and I'm saying I'll be back and saying trust me and

[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_15]: they're giving me so much money and it's like he played

[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_12]: Dutch in that predator video game.

[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah that's the most I'm gonna get on the ground.

[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah and I know he has said much like security says I'll

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_12]: never play Ripley again he's like I will never do any of

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_12]: that that's dark fate was the last one so.

[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_12]: Wow to end this on a good point if it's animator style

[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_12]: or like Halo Legends I think that can work otherwise

[01:07:05] [SPEAKER_12]: it can be hidden miss kind of like the Blade Runner

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_12]: anime we're like hmm you know this depends on the Blade Runner

[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_06]: and I'm going to watch.

[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Go go go it's so hard to continue Terminator and they

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: keep failing like it's it really is a series that's

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: two movies for me it's like Highlander they like what

[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: you've been saying about the show but they don't sure

[01:07:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but what you've been saying about the show is is a

[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: really a good point though because I feel like the

[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_02]: only way you could do it even when we said animatrix

[01:07:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and made me think of this the only way you could do

[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: it would be extended universe this is in the world of

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: the Terminator but it's not.

[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_12]: I thought they were going to keep going there because we

[01:07:42] [SPEAKER_12]: want to see the future war and even after salvation

[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_12]: we still want to see the future war and so.

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_10]: So speaking of that then then from us from it's

[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_10]: being on film then that's where we tied into the

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_10]: video games right so yeah the video games like Terminator

[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_10]: resistance like that's that is a salvation that we

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_10]: wanted actually.

[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_12]: They did a comic book tie into it even and

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_12]: T free redemption I could do not I invited some of my

[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_12]: brother's friends over and we played the shit out of that

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_12]: I love that game it was fun yeah.

[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: If they're trying to continue it outside of the games

[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_02]: what they should do is rogue one that shit and they make

[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_02]: a movie about even if you don't like the time machine

[01:08:20] [SPEAKER_02]: make a movie about right make a movie about stealing

[01:08:23] [SPEAKER_02]: the time portal you make a movie about the siege on

[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_12]: the time portal how did they get the co how did

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_12]: they first trade the Skynet you know like have it

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and get that get that European actor I think he's

[01:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Swedish from from black Klansman who looks exactly

[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: like young Michael be out at the end and jump into

[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_02]: the time portal and have that be the movie and and then

[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: whatever spin off would be I personally think that the

[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: best thing that the Star Wars universe has done since

[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Disney bought it is and or and that's kind of what

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking about as you have a different have it

[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_12]: be about the rest of the West Wing edition but

[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: don't have to be about John Connor he could be in there

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: he could be in the mix he should have seen the season

[01:09:05] [SPEAKER_12]: finale that's mission accomplished you know yeah but like

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: you say they're probably only not doing that because

[01:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Hermione Salvation underperformed and wasn't

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_12]: particularly well on Christian Bell I think they

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_12]: guys also changed on it since but we're saying Gilbert

[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I think they could have left out that's why can't

[01:09:22] [SPEAKER_03]: think of his last name Sam something worthington

[01:09:24] [SPEAKER_12]: yeah, Sam worthington. Yeah, they can left him

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_12]: out of it but coincidentally he has actually gone on

[01:09:30] [SPEAKER_12]: to work with the director T free on a thing was like

[01:09:33] [SPEAKER_12]: the Hunter's Prayer so you know why they cast him in

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator Salvation because that was his first big movie.

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, well or that was it was his first avatar was a

[01:09:43] [SPEAKER_12]: freer deal but it wasn't out yet. That's what it was.

[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He was already filming Avatar and they said well we

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: could get the lead from James Cameron's new crazy

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_12]: movie had been in the Aussie filler crocodile film

[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_12]: also rogue. Yeah, that's the one. Yeah, when I say his

[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_02]: first big movie on squeeze. Yeah, it felt strange to

[01:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: have it be. Oh look it's Batman and some guy like when

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: that movie came yeah and the reason was because they

[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: said well this guy's gonna be a huge star you know

[01:10:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a camera and Apologist for the most part I even

[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_02]: really like Titanic and and as insufferable as as the

[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_02]: insufferable parts of that movie are I think it's great

[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: filmmaking. I think the whole second half that movie is

[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_02]: bananas good and the washers extended cut. Yeah, four

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and a half hour Titanic. Yeah, let's have an entire scene

[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: that's just about the kitchen staff but the whole

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but the whole thing. I went so the new avatar in

[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: the theater I saw the way of water in the theater. I

[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: thought those are the best special effects I've ever

[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: seen in a movie. You know, I couldn't tell you to work

[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_12]: with Peter Jackson one day. I feel like they are on

[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_12]: the same wavelength. They have that Sam Raimi can

[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_12]: provide the budget. You know just something just but

[01:11:05] [SPEAKER_02]: the genre filmmaking of Avatar 2 in particular the

[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the action movie filmmaking reminded me of the James

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Cameron that we haven't gotten for a while. You

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: know, at least 20 minutes of that movie is just people

[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: going commercial whaling and it's a rare I think it's also

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_12]: a rarity because he has made the studios back money.

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_12]: His critic proof even though he has a rare mixture of

[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_12]: critics and audiences both liking his material. It

[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_12]: is right. It's a Michael man really Scott kind of

[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_12]: fascination where it's just like leave him be.

[01:11:42] [SPEAKER_12]: I do I do score says you're Spover the studio.

[01:11:47] [SPEAKER_06]: You should.

[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he might be the most profitable director of all

[01:11:53] [SPEAKER_02]: time. I think that you can you can put that in there and

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_12]: even though dollar and that's it like he knows what's

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_12]: working even though it took him a while to communicate.

[01:12:01] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay, I should be less of a hard as to you since what

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm saying isn't making sense to you. You haven't been

[01:12:06] [SPEAKER_12]: in the studio all night, you know, with 3 hours of

[01:12:08] [SPEAKER_12]: sleep. It's he is that kind of perfectionist and

[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_12]: you can respect that he's a perfectionist because of

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_12]: the results and how he's able to I mean we're all we're

[01:12:21] [SPEAKER_12]: all in the film buff area. But we all have trouble

[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_12]: conveying this sometimes to non film guys. You know,

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_12]: they don't know they don't know what an apple cart as

[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_12]: significance is or you know, doesn't Cameron do it

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: to himself though where he makes it so that everything

[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_02]: he makes has to be an event. So he can't make a small

[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_12]: movie now. He I think it's a personal bet. He's like,

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_12]: I can't I can do better than that you know is this

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_12]: that and I think he's also that rare. Even if you

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_12]: don't like his current stuff, I'm just like but

[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_12]: you're still cool with whatever he wants to do.

[01:13:00] [SPEAKER_12]: He's earned the freedom from low budget to big

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_12]: budget guy. You can't eat I would not call him

[01:13:06] [SPEAKER_12]: a sellout in any way shape or form he wants to do what

[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_12]: he wants to do. That's a big difference from I'm doing

[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_12]: whatever and I don't care and then I just got a you

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_12]: know contract for this thing that's not really my

[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_02]: thing, you know, and and he could he could buy and

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: sell us many times over. He could buy and sell many

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_12]: times over.

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: The one thing about the you know, he makes all

[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_03]: this money but that's not why he's doing it. You

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: can kind of tell yes. Yes, exactly.

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_06]: What I love about him is that with Avatar, he spent

[01:13:41] [SPEAKER_06]: whole 13 years making them sequels and planning and

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_06]: waiting because he knew if he tried to predict the

[01:13:50] [SPEAKER_12]: market at all. He's just like word if he tried to do

[01:13:52] [SPEAKER_06]: that shit last decade, he would have quit filmmaking

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_06]: altogether because he wouldn't be able to make it

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_06]: against like CBMs.

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_12]: Francis Ford Coppola has a new movie out. I actually

[01:14:01] [SPEAKER_12]: want to see it despite everyone you know, bad

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_12]: talking at a self funded. He didn't take anyone's advice.

[01:14:07] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm like, hey, even if it's piece of shit, I can

[01:14:11] [SPEAKER_12]: admire a man who went with his own ambition arrogant

[01:14:13] [SPEAKER_12]: as he is and just decided to do it instead of you

[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: know, I can also give a few hours to the guy that

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: made the Godfather Godfather to the conversation

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: out of the conversation.

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_12]: But you know, the rain people.

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I talked to I interviewed Sigourney Weaver for

[01:14:32] [SPEAKER_02]: the for the gals quest documentary. Yes, you did.

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: This was back in 2016.

[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_12]: So many alien Easter eggs in that movie that people

[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_12]: don't realize there's a positive light in the Easter egg.

[01:14:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. Yep. Ducks. Why is it always ducks? When we

[01:14:46] [SPEAKER_02]: when we talked to her that was in New York in 2016

[01:14:50] [SPEAKER_02]: and I was talking to her and she said she was moving

[01:14:53] [SPEAKER_02]: back to LA soon and I said, oh, why this is 2016

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and I say, oh, what's bringing you back to LA

[01:14:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and she goes avatar 2345678 like she just said it

[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_02]: like that.

[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I said, did you die in the first movie and

[01:15:12] [SPEAKER_02]: she just winked at me.

[01:15:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So

[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: but that whole thing of like she moved back to LA

[01:15:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and then they've been on a stage that was 2016.

[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So in 2000 from 2017 until when that movie come out

[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_06]: 2322 22 there you go.

[01:15:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Five years.

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_06]: That's impressive shit in the vacation.

[01:15:34] [SPEAKER_12]: Did you know fun fact?

[01:15:39] [SPEAKER_12]: Did you guys see that interview Eddie Falco was doing

[01:15:41] [SPEAKER_12]: promoting?

[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, right.

[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She forgot she was in it.

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.

[01:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's out now.

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Agent didn't tell me.

[01:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I think what she said was I assumed it came out and bombed

[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_12]: right.

[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, then

[01:15:57] [SPEAKER_12]: because no one was talking about and it was so hush hush,

[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_12]: you know, he's just come in and get out of here.

[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_06]: You know, and I would say camera knows how to keep shit hush

[01:16:06] [SPEAKER_06]: hush.

[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_12]: Just had Harris.

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh God.

[01:16:11] [SPEAKER_12]: Who would have been a great resistance leader?

[01:16:13] [SPEAKER_12]: All right, you get your ass over here.

[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to do the right to those two are not

[01:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: going to work together again.

[01:16:21] [SPEAKER_12]: But he's a pro too.

[01:16:23] [SPEAKER_12]: I love how when they ask him loaded questions on that

[01:16:26] [SPEAKER_12]: when they were trying to someone like a clickbait site

[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_12]: was trying to list, you know, greatest director actor

[01:16:31] [SPEAKER_12]: fuses like what's been said has already been said.

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_12]: Next question.

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm like you go and you are a pro like William Defoe

[01:16:38] [SPEAKER_12]: and those guys you don't.

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I read a quote somewhere where he said asking me about

[01:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: the abyss would be like asking a veteran about Vietnam.

[01:16:48] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_12]: It's a nightmare.

[01:16:50] [SPEAKER_12]: So it's like I'm

[01:16:52] [SPEAKER_12]: what you need is an analogy and you move on.

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_12]: So many people want to just

[01:16:58] [SPEAKER_12]: that shit and it's like don't don't feed don't feed the trolls

[01:17:03] [SPEAKER_12]: don't feed the clickbait.

[01:17:05] [SPEAKER_12]: Don't do it, you know.

[01:17:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Listen, like as much as I love Cameron's more ambitious

[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff, I still think his masterpiece is aliens, which

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_06]: is an elite director's cut.

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Director's cut.

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Although I'll tell you what I love.

[01:17:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I love the director's cut but the the removal of the real

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: three that's in the theatrical version.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's genius.

[01:17:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you never see the planet before you get there.

[01:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually think that's fantastic.

[01:17:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So my ideal version of aliens would be the director's cut

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_02]: missing that part and that's but that's also the version

[01:17:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I grew up with was the one where you never see it

[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: until until they get there.

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_12]: There's I'm glad we're all of this same mindset

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_12]: because like, you know, when Justice League was coming

[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_12]: out, I was telling guys, hey, you should still see every

[01:17:53] [SPEAKER_12]: version of a movie even if you don't care for it.

[01:17:55] [SPEAKER_12]: See what they did different what and what you prefer, you

[01:17:59] [SPEAKER_12]: know, and I see so many people, you know, they will refuse

[01:18:03] [SPEAKER_12]: to revisit a movie.

[01:18:04] [SPEAKER_12]: They're like that damage done like and I've had to do this

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_12]: with Johnny Mnemonic.

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_12]: I've had to tell guys, hey, you should watch the on

[01:18:10] [SPEAKER_06]: cut, you know, and I have that version thanks to you.

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_12]: Yes, it's a way better version.

[01:18:15] [SPEAKER_12]: You don't get those in different takes you you can

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_12]: barely hear the infamous I want room service line, you know,

[01:18:21] [SPEAKER_12]: it is different opening narration everything.

[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the time who is the time to watch all these different

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_02]: versions of different movies.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_12]: That's just it too.

[01:18:31] [SPEAKER_12]: But it's one of those and I tried doing it.

[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_12]: I tried telling people, hey, I know you like this movie

[01:18:35] [SPEAKER_12]: or you don't like this movie.

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_12]: You should check it out and you're like damage done.

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm not going to know.

[01:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, I'm absolutely self owning because what

[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: happens is people ask me if I've seen something if

[01:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I've seen something new.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh no, I'm too busy.

[01:18:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't have the time.

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm too busy watching a fourth version of Blade Runner.

[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm busy watching a 35 years.

[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, exactly.

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_12]: It's pretty hard to go low as a director Scott like this.

[01:19:01] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, Ridley Scott as maddening and as much respect

[01:19:05] [SPEAKER_12]: as he has lost for me over the years.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_12]: If he wants to do a third recut of Gladiator,

[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_12]: I might actually watch it and be like, hey, you know,

[01:19:14] [SPEAKER_12]: like when I have the apocalypse now final cut.

[01:19:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, sure.

[01:19:18] [SPEAKER_12]: I had some other filmmakers of friends including the director

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_12]: of Ballistic X versus Sever and he hated the special edition

[01:19:24] [SPEAKER_12]: so much I could not sell him on seeing this final cut like

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_12]: trust me.

[01:19:29] [SPEAKER_12]: He took out the stuff that was criticized but he still left

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_12]: in the cool stuff with the French plantation all that

[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_12]: you know and it and and it's never looked better.

[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, it's I don't know and that's that's one

[01:19:40] [SPEAKER_02]: of those rare movies that the theatrical version is my

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_02]: favorites.

[01:19:44] [SPEAKER_12]: No, that's fine.

[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_12]: I think you would like the final cut though, but so you just

[01:19:48] [SPEAKER_12]: look like you've just proved my point though.

[01:19:50] [SPEAKER_12]: Like it is there are some movies you just don't want to touch

[01:19:53] [SPEAKER_12]: you're like you can do five more versions of it.

[01:19:55] [SPEAKER_12]: You know, it doesn't make a difference and then there's

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_12]: other you know, Oreo and I had talked to death about

[01:20:00] [SPEAKER_12]: director's cuts that everyone forgets are out there but

[01:20:03] [SPEAKER_12]: are actually worth watching.

[01:20:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, my favorite version of the movie tends to be

[01:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: between the two versions like it's what I was saying

[01:20:09] [SPEAKER_02]: about aliens.

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_12]: I need a shorter version today and tomorrow when I'm

[01:20:13] [SPEAKER_02]: working out on the last it's less that it's more

[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_02]: that I always feel like the extended versions always

[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: put in one thing too many.

[01:20:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so like, you know, I love the movie almost.

[01:20:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why they're cut to begin with you.

[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I love them we've almost famous.

[01:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I love the extended version the best but then there's

[01:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: one scene I would take out that extended version.

[01:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I love the extended version of aliens but I would

[01:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: take out that third real like there's that was like

[01:20:39] [SPEAKER_06]: it's the 2000s where you got the unrated cuts extended

[01:20:43] [SPEAKER_06]: cuts and I'm so just you know extra fuck you and a couple

[01:20:46] [SPEAKER_06]: a couple of periods and that was it.

[01:20:48] [SPEAKER_06]: It was like that's not much of an unrated cut.

[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_12]: Right, I did nothing for the plot.

[01:20:53] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, I know.

[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: The first directors cut I ever experienced was the

[01:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: lawnmower man.

[01:20:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh wow, that's a cool one.

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And when I was in the video store I said what

[01:21:03] [SPEAKER_02]: does this mean?

[01:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And the video store clerk I was pointing at directors

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_02]: cut and the Oster clerk said mines it's got more dirty

[01:21:10] [SPEAKER_02]: bits in it.

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So I

[01:21:15] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah, I was in Fargo, I was in Fargo, Virginia.

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I the then I take it home and it's got a half

[01:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: hour with the chimpanzee in it.

[01:21:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That's that's the difference between the two movies.

[01:21:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like I guess I was okay.

[01:21:30] [SPEAKER_02]: That was a dirty as chimpanzee.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_12]: What you needed was a video store guy who's

[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_12]: like the pawn shop owner interpreter.

[01:21:37] [SPEAKER_12]: Hey, see what you like.

[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Dude, we need to open this podcast up with the dirty

[01:21:42] [SPEAKER_06]: bit shit.

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Sure, we got the dirty bit so it is.

[01:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy too with the unearthed and older version.

[01:21:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've got the Blues Brothers Blu-ray and I'm

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_02]: watching this version of it and it's so great because

[01:21:57] [SPEAKER_02]: every musical number is longer.

[01:22:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything's so great.

[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh wow.

[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And then suddenly Dan Arca walks in without a

[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: sunglasses on and you're like that's not what the

[01:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Stan Arca right?

[01:22:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it completely ruins the illusion immediately.

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_12]: So whoa.

[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, someone needed to do another re-edit.

[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_12]: I do recommend the uncut version of live for

[01:22:17] [SPEAKER_12]: your die hard like you get more of the and you

[01:22:20] [SPEAKER_12]: actually see what happened to him and you became

[01:22:23] [SPEAKER_12]: mother right.

[01:22:26] [SPEAKER_12]: None of that you hear every fuck fuck fuck and

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_12]: go back here.

[01:22:30] [SPEAKER_12]: So it's one of those rare ones where it's like

[01:22:33] [SPEAKER_12]: people were okay with a theatrical after much

[01:22:35] [SPEAKER_12]: resistance but like yeah, no you should see it on

[01:22:37] [SPEAKER_12]: cut.

[01:22:37] [SPEAKER_12]: I think you would like that one better.

[01:22:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Does everybody have does everybody have a favorite

[01:22:43] [SPEAKER_02]: part of Terminator 2 that's only in the extended

[01:22:46] [SPEAKER_02]: version?

[01:22:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, didn't is the extended version didn't have

[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_03]: more of the dream sequence with the atomic

[01:22:56] [SPEAKER_03]: explosions or nuclear explosions.

[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Kyle runs in and had she dreams that she's

[01:23:05] [SPEAKER_02]: with him and then she follows Reese outside and

[01:23:08] [SPEAKER_02]: then she wakes up before you can see everything.

[01:23:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like they set it up and then the next

[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: dream sequence is the response basically right.

[01:23:17] [SPEAKER_12]: I can say the dog killing might have been too

[01:23:20] [SPEAKER_12]: much but you should at least include the scene

[01:23:23] [SPEAKER_12]: where he's searching John's room just that acting

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_12]: is amazing how he is you know on the 4K

[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_02]: there's an extended edition or no I'm sorry there's

[01:23:32] [SPEAKER_02]: a special edition and then an extended special

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_02]: edition that 3D they extended special edition.

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_12]: They got enough complaints they eliminated all

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_12]: the bloopers.

[01:23:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like honestly I thought it was great and

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: then it ends with that horrible ending where

[01:23:51] [SPEAKER_02]: she's in the worst age makeup ever and she's

[01:23:54] [SPEAKER_02]: like John became a senator like all this stupid

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff.

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah that's right.

[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah we're like John became senator blue dough

[01:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: blue Tars here whatever but yeah but the ending of

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_02]: the like going back to the theatrical version.

[01:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: The ending of Terminator 2 is so definitive.

[01:24:13] [SPEAKER_02]: That's it.

[01:24:14] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what's going to happen next.

[01:24:17] [SPEAKER_06]: It almost made an only thing.

[01:24:21] [SPEAKER_07]: It may be money.

[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Remember Albert Brooks and broadcast news doing that

[01:24:28] [SPEAKER_07]: bit about oh you got to see Arnold on TV saying I'm

[01:24:31] [SPEAKER_07]: the same person now when I made 4 million instead

[01:24:33] [SPEAKER_07]: of 5 million now.

[01:24:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Careers wanted to prove that wrong because he's

[01:24:39] [SPEAKER_07]: not the same character.

[01:24:41] [SPEAKER_07]: There you go.

[01:24:43] [SPEAKER_07]: We can't but I think that's probably before the

[01:24:46] [SPEAKER_07]: movie came out though so fair enough.

[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_12]: I mean you guys have all illustrated what we

[01:24:51] [SPEAKER_12]: have all I figured we were going to hit on is that

[01:24:53] [SPEAKER_12]: you can't replicate or predict success but you also

[01:24:56] [SPEAKER_12]: you got to cherish it while it lasts otherwise you

[01:24:59] [SPEAKER_12]: end up like all these TV shows that are on the air

[01:25:01] [SPEAKER_12]: and they don't know how to end their story without

[01:25:04] [SPEAKER_12]: you know pissing off people who will always tune

[01:25:06] [SPEAKER_12]: in versus ones who are sick of it and wanted to

[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_12]: conclude already.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we've also proven something that my

[01:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: girlfriend frequently says which is bad Arnold

[01:25:16] [SPEAKER_02]: impressions are so much better than good ones.

[01:25:21] [SPEAKER_12]: That is true.

[01:25:22] [SPEAKER_12]: And watch us say no I do think Pablo Francisco still

[01:25:24] [SPEAKER_12]: mastered it little tortilla boy.

[01:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: My favorite is will sasso doing an Arnold commentary

[01:25:30] [SPEAKER_02]: because it's not just a great impression.

[01:25:32] [SPEAKER_02]: It does sound like what he would say.

[01:25:35] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh what did he do that on like a podcast.

[01:25:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It's it's back when he was doing vines and it's

[01:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: a things from the force awakens and you hear him

[01:25:44] [SPEAKER_15]: go look it's Luke solo.

[01:25:49] [SPEAKER_15]: He's hiding for this to him too.

[01:25:51] [SPEAKER_15]: Because OK.

[01:25:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Conan the barbara Conan Barbarians when I favorite

[01:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: movies all time and also you hit play on the commentary

[01:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: track on the special edition DVD.

[01:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's also on the Blu-ray.

[01:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I think so and it literally starts with a gravelly voice

[01:26:10] [SPEAKER_02]: going hi I'm Arnold Schwarzenegger.

[01:26:13] [SPEAKER_12]: He won a DVD award because he did so much stating

[01:26:16] [SPEAKER_12]: that's on screen.

[01:26:17] [SPEAKER_15]: Then Arnold says and I'm John Milius.

[01:26:20] [SPEAKER_15]: I believe that you believe the original Simmons Chulnius

[01:26:24] [SPEAKER_15]: running along.

[01:26:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that he says I love that about his own joke

[01:26:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's the beginning of the commentary.

[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_12]: I wait till you get to the total recall one.

[01:26:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh that's so good like but he's clearly smoke

[01:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: he's clearly smoking a J and then watching these

[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: movies he didn't give a shit and I wouldn't either

[01:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: in the Conan one you remember the training months

[01:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: attached with him in the swords and everything.

[01:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: So you hear Milius and he's like I had a thing he's

[01:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: becoming the Nietzschean ideal of the self actualized

[01:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: life and then he takes the guy in the crotch and he

[01:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and he's like so he's basically got that I forgot

[01:27:01] [SPEAKER_14]: about the park.

[01:27:02] [SPEAKER_14]: He kicked the guy and he fell down.

[01:27:05] [SPEAKER_14]: Stop funny interrupts.

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Really is being pretentious about Nietzsche and

[01:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: self creation by saying he kicked in the car

[01:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: after he filled up.

[01:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh man.

[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_12]: Imagine if he had done that for those Terminator ones

[01:27:20] [SPEAKER_12]: and he does it briefly on T3 where he's like oh right

[01:27:24] [SPEAKER_12]: this is how you begin a movie where he's looking

[01:27:27] [SPEAKER_12]: checking out her butt.

[01:27:28] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm like on my word Arnold Banks dude and did you do

[01:27:31] [SPEAKER_12]: this before you were governor?

[01:27:33] [SPEAKER_07]: I still think my all time favorite.

[01:27:35] [SPEAKER_07]: Arald is yakity yak in twins.

[01:27:41] [SPEAKER_15]: Bonnie.

[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Gosh.

[01:27:44] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean how they pick that out of all the songs ever made

[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_07]: it's so perfect.

[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_07]: I was on the plane.

[01:27:52] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, I sing as William Shetner and Arnold all the time

[01:27:55] [SPEAKER_12]: and given how the surprise success of this now how

[01:27:59] [SPEAKER_12]: they're doing all these either video game TV shows

[01:28:02] [SPEAKER_12]: with the craters input or CGI ones like the new

[01:28:05] [SPEAKER_12]: Super Mario Brothers movie.

[01:28:06] [SPEAKER_12]: They should do want to crash Bandicoot and they

[01:28:09] [SPEAKER_12]: should have him play tiny which is clearly meant to be

[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_12]: a parody of them with the Huckabee's tiny you know.

[01:28:17] [SPEAKER_15]: Huckabee's tiny.

[01:28:18] [SPEAKER_12]: That's not the character speaks and so like that'd be

[01:28:21] [SPEAKER_12]: perfect.

[01:28:21] [SPEAKER_12]: It would be.

[01:28:22] [SPEAKER_12]: She's my tail.

[01:28:24] [SPEAKER_15]: I got the I'm chasing terrible.

[01:28:26] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, that is the body mon.

[01:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: The whole Hans and Franz thing apparently started

[01:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: that was the other great thing that we had recently

[01:28:34] [SPEAKER_12]: listen to that audio drum.

[01:28:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I did when Robert was Robert Smigel was doing

[01:28:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Schwarzenegger and they were in a Dolph Lundgren cameo

[01:28:43] [SPEAKER_12]: and Roger Eberg is taking hostage.

[01:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Unmade the unmade movie Hans and Franz the girly dilemma

[01:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: which Conan O'Brien Brian the barbarian there imagine

[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that but Hans and Franz began with Kevin Nealon calling

[01:29:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Dana Carvey and he was just watching Arnold on TV

[01:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: like on the on the today show or something like that.

[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes and he just calls up Dana Carvey's and he just

[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_02]: starts doing Arnold on the phone he says you first

[01:29:14] [SPEAKER_15]: what you do is you put on a night you take a shower

[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_15]: and you put on nice cotton shirts and you want to look

[01:29:22] [SPEAKER_02]: good and then you and it's like actually describing

[01:29:25] [SPEAKER_02]: his routine of getting dressed to go out.

[01:29:28] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, it's like thanks too much information here.

[01:29:31] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm you know before we took notes you know

[01:29:34] [SPEAKER_02]: they just started doing it around the Saturday Night Live

[01:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: office and that was the beginning of

[01:29:37] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh man and how about the fact that Dana would always

[01:29:41] [SPEAKER_12]: bring this up is like we never made it clear who was

[01:29:44] [SPEAKER_12]: Hans and who was Franz we just coexisted.

[01:29:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they forget it's like Rod and Todd and the

[01:29:49] [SPEAKER_12]: Simpsons they forget they did it so much is like

[01:29:52] [SPEAKER_12]: it doesn't matter like the free Sturges were inseparable

[01:29:56] [SPEAKER_12]: yet.

[01:29:57] [SPEAKER_03]: There's a Brian Thompson movie called the higher to kill

[01:30:01] [SPEAKER_03]: the extendables.

[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a parody and he's kind of parodying you know

[01:30:07] [SPEAKER_03]: like Schwarzenegger and and so on and sure they hired

[01:30:11] [SPEAKER_12]: when they couldn't get him or doll if they're like let's

[01:30:13] [SPEAKER_12]: hire this guy who does all those Italian war movies

[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_12]: and action films.

[01:30:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Remember he was the bad guy in Cobra.

[01:30:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, though he's yeah and I'm sure you guys have

[01:30:22] [SPEAKER_12]: read all about that he's actually trying to give

[01:30:24] [SPEAKER_12]: 100% in the director is ghost directing something

[01:30:28] [SPEAKER_12]: that would continue on the set of Tombstone starring

[01:30:30] [SPEAKER_12]: Michael Bean you know this is like

[01:30:34] [SPEAKER_12]: you get more footage from in the TV at it.

[01:30:36] [SPEAKER_12]: Believe it or not.

[01:30:38] [SPEAKER_02]: That's I think I think what happened was Kurt Russell called

[01:30:41] [SPEAKER_02]: up still.

[01:30:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He did.

[01:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Who should I get?

[01:30:44] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, how boys and Indians magazine in it.

[01:30:47] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm so surprised that the director skill never caught

[01:30:50] [SPEAKER_12]: on to that.

[01:30:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I well I'm not surprised because imagine if they

[01:30:54] [SPEAKER_12]: did that now there'd be a revolt it'd be the whole

[01:30:56] [SPEAKER_12]: Brian Singer thing all over again who directed what?

[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah at that time though the show up and finish your job

[01:31:03] [SPEAKER_12]: and we'll give you a little bit.

[01:31:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Well the movie star was the 800 pound gorilla so I don't

[01:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: think anybody yeah they they talk about Mel Gibson director

[01:31:10] [SPEAKER_12]: no one wanted to know how cheese was made you know.

[01:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure, sure.

[01:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I met Brian Thompson at a New Year's Eve party once he

[01:31:16] [SPEAKER_02]: walked up to me in my date we're both wearing

[01:31:19] [SPEAKER_12]: you ask him to dress up as a Klingon and

[01:31:22] [SPEAKER_02]: but he he said I want a picture with you guys

[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and he's just he looked like a million bucks.

[01:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He was wearing a great suit he was smoking a cigar.

[01:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He took a picture.

[01:31:30] [SPEAKER_12]: Sure, I'll sign your ex pals merchandise now and I said hey

[01:31:35] [SPEAKER_02]: like he he puts arms around us and got the picture

[01:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and then he's like oh yeah thanks that's great.

[01:31:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You know looking at his phone real gentle giant you know

[01:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah yeah and I said hey I'm a big fan and he put

[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: the cigar in his mouth and he just nodded and walked

[01:31:47] [SPEAKER_02]: away and it was just like I don't know if that's

[01:31:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I get that all the time or I'm uncomfortable getting

[01:31:53] [SPEAKER_12]: that I don't know but I was like I have so many

[01:31:57] [SPEAKER_14]: Friday night two questions you know I just.

[01:32:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah he was right thanks.

[01:32:05] [SPEAKER_02]: He's the he's a muscle bound Renfield he's eating bugs

[01:32:09] [SPEAKER_02]: throughout the whole movie it's great.

[01:32:11] [SPEAKER_12]: You want to hear from him listen to his galaxy

[01:32:13] [SPEAKER_12]: con interviews.

[01:32:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I've liked him and pretty much everything I've seen

[01:32:17] [SPEAKER_03]: him in he's been in an episode of Orville.

[01:32:21] [SPEAKER_12]: He's been in sick.

[01:32:24] [SPEAKER_03]: He's been in an episode of Deep Space Nine.

[01:32:29] [SPEAKER_12]: As well as Enterprise so yeah he was on that train for a

[01:32:33] [SPEAKER_12]: while and then yeah does all these under B action

[01:32:35] [SPEAKER_12]: movies.

[01:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Was he a clean on in search for Spock?

[01:32:39] [SPEAKER_03]: What was I'm not sure which one it was.

[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_12]: Let's look it up.

[01:32:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was a TV episode or something.

[01:32:45] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay memory alpha.

[01:32:46] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, I know.

[01:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a great place for it.

[01:32:49] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[01:32:50] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay, it's a little bit of a real fast yep.

[01:32:53] [SPEAKER_12]: Diaz nine is playing a guard the rules of acquisition

[01:32:57] [SPEAKER_12]: episode then a clean on on Generations and then a.

[01:33:02] [SPEAKER_12]: Come on to rock on Diaz nine and then okay I take it

[01:33:06] [SPEAKER_12]: back then he plays that Admiral Val d'Or Romulan

[01:33:09] [SPEAKER_12]: on Enterprise and.

[01:33:12] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah he was Clegg in a matter of honor next gen

[01:33:16] [SPEAKER_12]: so there you go.

[01:33:18] [SPEAKER_02]: So before we wrap up our Terminator talk do we want to

[01:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: go around and each person say their favorite part of of

[01:33:25] [SPEAKER_02]: each Terminator movie or or everybody dies that's my

[01:33:29] [SPEAKER_06]: favorite part you bastard will come back to you.

[01:33:33] [SPEAKER_12]: So we've sprinkled them but yes I was I think that's a

[01:33:37] [SPEAKER_12]: good idea Jack just to summarize what's the moment

[01:33:40] [SPEAKER_12]: you could not do without like a community from anyone

[01:33:43] [SPEAKER_12]: so.

[01:33:45] [SPEAKER_12]: I'll let Gil go first and then oh crap.

[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know there's a little bit to like from everything

[01:33:52] [SPEAKER_03]: even the ones that even movies that weren't as good.

[01:33:57] [SPEAKER_03]: You know the opening scene when Terminator first shows up.

[01:34:02] [SPEAKER_03]: You know in the electricity stuff and then you got the

[01:34:04] [SPEAKER_03]: bottom off to the side is it.

[01:34:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's.

[01:34:10] [SPEAKER_03]: He showed half I'm lost go ahead go to somebody else.

[01:34:13] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay sure he I think it's going to be the F you asshole.

[01:34:17] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my favorite part.

[01:34:19] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay I'm going to go with the pawn shop wrong.

[01:34:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Dick Miller man yeah for the first Terminator I think

[01:34:29] [SPEAKER_02]: it's got to be the entire Technor club gunfight great

[01:34:36] [SPEAKER_02]: everything that ends with them.

[01:34:38] [SPEAKER_12]: The soundtrack has so many great songs that aren't in the

[01:34:40] [SPEAKER_12]: movie.

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah Mike what are you going to go with.

[01:34:44] [SPEAKER_07]: I got to go with the timing it's so perfect I'll be the

[01:34:48] [SPEAKER_07]: whole I'll be back seeing because the way he acts when

[01:34:51] [SPEAKER_12]: he oh she's in T2 when he's going in the SWAT team or T1

[01:34:55] [SPEAKER_12]: no no the police station okay.

[01:35:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh yeah I'll be that comes up the way he just looks back

[01:35:03] [SPEAKER_12]: at this.

[01:35:04] [SPEAKER_07]: He's going to go out and get a pack of cigarettes for a

[01:35:07] [SPEAKER_07]: minute or something and do some grocery shopping just

[01:35:10] [SPEAKER_07]: to sit in the lobby creepily.

[01:35:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay he's getting in his car and then all of a sudden bang

[01:35:17] [SPEAKER_07]: you know it's so the guy's holy shit look on his face.

[01:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And like the edit the edit is so perfect on cutting back to

[01:35:26] [SPEAKER_02]: the police officer behind the desk cuts to just a few frames

[01:35:29] [SPEAKER_02]: of him scribbling in the book and then cut back to his

[01:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: face and he looks up.

[01:35:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes yeah it's it's it's one second.

[01:35:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my second you think that's it for one second you think

[01:35:40] [SPEAKER_12]: is that a one take what what what take did they do in one.

[01:35:44] [SPEAKER_10]: I'll show you walk and also the T-800s walking by the

[01:35:48] [SPEAKER_10]: psychiatrist too.

[01:35:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Right he just misses the opportunity to kill Earl Bowen

[01:35:56] [SPEAKER_02]: the one actor who's in those first all three of the

[01:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: the first three movies.

[01:36:00] [SPEAKER_06]: He died recently so.

[01:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh how old.

[01:36:05] [SPEAKER_05]: It is 70s or 80s.

[01:36:08] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh man yeah I would have asked him a hundred stupid

[01:36:11] [SPEAKER_12]: questions as a fan.

[01:36:13] [SPEAKER_03]: He was one of those he was one of the lucky actors.

[01:36:16] [SPEAKER_03]: He's the guy he was in battle beyond stars.

[01:36:20] [SPEAKER_12]: There's the Roger Corman connection I knew.

[01:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was he was one of those lucky actors to go bald

[01:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: early so he never looked old he just looked the same.

[01:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: For 30 years.

[01:36:31] [SPEAKER_12]: My my my uncle said the same thing about Joe on the

[01:36:34] [SPEAKER_12]: Highlander TV shows like the guy looked like he was 60

[01:36:36] [SPEAKER_12]: before he was actually 60.

[01:36:39] [SPEAKER_10]: Or Steve Martin.

[01:36:43] [SPEAKER_12]: Patrick Stewart was there.

[01:36:45] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah you always looked elder than you actually were so

[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_12]: it's cool.

[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_12]: Oreo did you already go.

[01:36:52] [SPEAKER_06]: I will say my favorite moment in the Terminator.

[01:36:57] [SPEAKER_06]: I liked Burning Earth.

[01:37:01] [SPEAKER_06]: And the whole story with that.

[01:37:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah that was a good story.

[01:37:06] [SPEAKER_12]: We're shooting here we're going to comic book.

[01:37:08] [SPEAKER_12]: They're doing nice.

[01:37:10] [SPEAKER_12]: And that is some great visuals.

[01:37:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep it's good the story felt just so short though.

[01:37:16] [SPEAKER_06]: But I still liked it was really good and the introduction

[01:37:19] [SPEAKER_06]: of the other.

[01:37:20] [SPEAKER_06]: I forget what their names.

[01:37:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Is Bert so in the first movie is your favorite part

[01:37:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the flashbacks to the flashbacks to the future.

[01:37:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah flashbacks are always amazing because that's one of

[01:37:33] [SPEAKER_06]: those things that sticks out the most it doesn't feel.

[01:37:37] [SPEAKER_12]: I mean it feels like being filmed out of sequence

[01:37:41] [SPEAKER_12]: didn't matter you know it's already out of sequence

[01:37:43] [SPEAKER_12]: you know so it's true yeah.

[01:37:45] [SPEAKER_06]: That's the big thing it's like it's out of sequence

[01:37:47] [SPEAKER_06]: who cares it just makes sense as it goes forward

[01:37:50] [SPEAKER_06]: because you're like oh I got to go back and rewatch this

[01:37:54] [SPEAKER_06]: to understand where it's at now.

[01:37:55] [SPEAKER_12]: There's a great industrial light and magic documentary

[01:37:58] [SPEAKER_12]: on Disney Plus and I still I'm always blowing my parents

[01:38:04] [SPEAKER_12]: mind and you know they see the part where they're showing

[01:38:06] [SPEAKER_12]: how they made T2 and Jurassic Park and they just can't believe

[01:38:11] [SPEAKER_12]: that's a puppet actually crushing a skeleton prop

[01:38:14] [SPEAKER_12]: and like yeah that's animatronic.

[01:38:18] [SPEAKER_12]: That's why it looks so good I actually think that's in the room

[01:38:21] [SPEAKER_12]: about to lunge out of the TV screen and choke me.

[01:38:25] [SPEAKER_06]: And it's all about the practical shit too.

[01:40:00] [SPEAKER_03]: No I mean I like a lot of the like especially in the first

[01:40:03] [SPEAKER_12]: one to your head.

[01:40:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just remembering like you're talking about the music

[01:40:10] [SPEAKER_03]: and I don't know how to describe it.

[01:40:12] [SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of like you know as the cars running and

[01:40:15] [SPEAKER_03]: they're being chased and the sound is coming up.

[01:40:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Sounds almost like a flat tire.

[01:40:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Great you know and it just heightens up the tension.

[01:40:25] [SPEAKER_12]: You don't know if I really like so what.

[01:40:28] [SPEAKER_12]: I have some other great trivia that you're not going to find

[01:40:31] [SPEAKER_12]: on IMDb and tell me Jack you've heard this before so 50

[01:40:35] [SPEAKER_12]: miles per hour podcast which covers the making of speed

[01:40:37] [SPEAKER_12]: is a great listen for everybody because it also talks

[01:40:40] [SPEAKER_12]: about rear projection and editing and movie marketing

[01:40:44] [SPEAKER_12]: it shows you how in 94 a lot of movies changed how they

[01:40:48] [SPEAKER_12]: did their productions and everything

[01:40:51] [SPEAKER_12]: and they interviewed Joe Morton you know oh Joe

[01:40:55] [SPEAKER_12]: was Dyson believe it or not you know when he was training

[01:40:58] [SPEAKER_12]: you know to be the SWAT lieutenant everything in that

[01:41:01] [SPEAKER_12]: movie he was trained coincidentally by the same SWAT

[01:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: team that shoots them in T2 that's that's Hank from

[01:41:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Breaking Bad also is the one guy yeah SWAT team member

[01:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: D-Norris is the one who discovers Dyson doing that

[01:41:20] [SPEAKER_12]: a year after playing with a guy in Recall yeah.

[01:41:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right yeah he's in total recall and he's in Starship

[01:41:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Troopers he's at a bunch of that stuff from that era but

[01:41:29] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah that's that's Hank before they transferred him to

[01:41:33] [SPEAKER_02]: New Mexico and he's really killing it now on modern order

[01:41:38] [SPEAKER_12]: organized crime like Susan Ford was probably the best of

[01:41:41] [SPEAKER_12]: that show they got the directors of 24 working on it they

[01:41:43] [SPEAKER_12]: got terrific the head writers of John Chabon from Breaking

[01:41:47] [SPEAKER_12]: Bad and X Files Universe as the show runner now it's and Dean

[01:41:52] [SPEAKER_12]: is killing it he is he's not playing Evil Hank anymore

[01:41:57] [SPEAKER_12]: he is playing a whole different cold god just damn it

[01:42:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Harvey his arc from the beginning of Breaking Bad to

[01:42:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the end of that show he's going to be the same douchebag

[01:42:07] [SPEAKER_02]: like no I feel sorry for my least favorite character in

[01:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: like the first couple episodes of Breaking Bad is my favorite

[01:42:13] [SPEAKER_02]: character.

[01:42:15] [SPEAKER_12]: They should do Gomez like a spell just Gomez just nothing

[01:42:19] [SPEAKER_12]: personal just him going around he meets the weirdest

[01:42:22] [SPEAKER_12]: cartel guys and he just shrugs his shoulders like what am I

[01:42:26] [SPEAKER_12]: going to do?

[01:42:27] [SPEAKER_02]: That would be great.

[01:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Does everybody want to pick a favorite part from Terminator 2?

[01:42:32] [SPEAKER_10]: Oh yeah.

[01:42:34] [SPEAKER_12]: Go ahead.

[01:42:35] [SPEAKER_12]: You're the guest.

[01:42:37] [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you.

[01:42:38] [SPEAKER_10]: It's it's I have a tie actually I mean I mean one of my I mean

[01:42:44] [SPEAKER_10]: obviously everybody loves the Cyber Dye and Showdown.

[01:42:47] [SPEAKER_10]: So it's between that and then the everything from the

[01:42:52] [SPEAKER_10]: Galleria scene to the motorcycle chase scene that's

[01:42:56] [SPEAKER_10]: like that's like my favorite.

[01:42:57] [SPEAKER_10]: I mean like the soundtrack like the action and just like

[01:43:00] [SPEAKER_10]: him revolving shotgun and when he first breaks into

[01:43:04] [SPEAKER_12]: Cyber Dye I like how he's just getting the key card and

[01:43:07] [SPEAKER_12]: he says please.

[01:43:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But this whole thing with the Galleria just when that when

[01:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: it starts to ramp to slow motion and he steps on the roses

[01:43:18] [SPEAKER_02]: as he's walking.

[01:43:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes leading up to the revelation that you think he's here

[01:43:24] [SPEAKER_12]: to kill time.

[01:43:26] [SPEAKER_12]: He's a murderer.

[01:43:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah where's Christy Hanson?

[01:43:30] [SPEAKER_10]: And then the climax.

[01:43:31] [SPEAKER_10]: I remember rewind to 1991 and you're seeing like the T-1000

[01:43:37] [SPEAKER_10]: and the T-800 finally meeting each other the first time and

[01:43:41] [SPEAKER_10]: you know back then you're like who's a good guy who's the

[01:43:43] [SPEAKER_10]: bad guy and then open the here get down and then

[01:43:46] [SPEAKER_10]: like change everything up like a man but by the way I need

[01:43:51] [SPEAKER_12]: a copy of your shirt by the way what is it he's a judge

[01:43:55] [SPEAKER_12]: don't bump myself.

[01:43:56] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh he's taking a selfie.

[01:43:59] [SPEAKER_12]: I thought that was a gavel.

[01:44:03] [SPEAKER_10]: That's a good idea.

[01:44:07] [SPEAKER_10]: But it's like everything from that moment like you say like

[01:44:11] [SPEAKER_10]: you're building that momentum and that motorcycle.

[01:44:14] [SPEAKER_12]: And I can't stand how snobs like to make fun of how oh

[01:44:18] [SPEAKER_12]: they're about to bust through a plastic set.

[01:44:21] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm like you didn't notice that the first 50 times you

[01:44:23] [SPEAKER_12]: watch the movie.

[01:44:24] [SPEAKER_12]: We did try.

[01:44:25] [SPEAKER_12]: Why do people want to ruin our good movies?

[01:44:28] [SPEAKER_12]: I don't care that you can see a plane in the background of

[01:44:30] [SPEAKER_12]: gladiator is still a damn good movie.

[01:44:35] [SPEAKER_10]: But yeah it's a bit of those two for Terminator 2 but that's

[01:44:39] [SPEAKER_12]: how I mean that's how you should open up a movie.

[01:44:43] [SPEAKER_12]: We just got him past the biker bar.

[01:44:47] [SPEAKER_06]: That's good shit.

[01:44:50] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean yeah but I like biker bars my favorite easily to fucking

[01:44:55] [SPEAKER_06]: funny.

[01:44:56] [SPEAKER_12]: It's even funnier when you see the making up behind the scenes

[01:45:00] [SPEAKER_12]: is like no Arnold V.

[01:45:01] [SPEAKER_12]: The towel you know it's not.

[01:45:03] [SPEAKER_10]: These are some shorts and he's shaking his little right.

[01:45:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw that in the theater the first time with an audience

[01:45:10] [SPEAKER_02]: that had like it was opening night I think.

[01:45:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh man as soon as like it's such an overplayed song the

[01:45:17] [SPEAKER_02]: George Thurgood song is so overplayed but as soon as that

[01:45:22] [SPEAKER_02]: banana came in audience lost their shit laughing.

[01:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh dude and people were like.

[01:45:30] [SPEAKER_12]: It's kind of sad satirical is this like a stranger coming

[01:45:34] [SPEAKER_12]: into town and he's not here for the reason you think nobody

[01:45:37] [SPEAKER_12]: was expecting it bad to the bone literally.

[01:45:42] [SPEAKER_12]: Okay so Mike you got a moment from T2.

[01:45:46] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah I kind of reiterating when the way they have served figure

[01:45:52] [SPEAKER_07]: out that he's good now or he's not the same.

[01:45:55] [SPEAKER_07]: He's not the bad Terminator.

[01:45:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Perfect.

[01:45:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He quotes Kyle he says come with me if you want to live.

[01:46:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And that I rewatching it and realizing that John Connor

[01:46:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and Cowrie's had a relationship before he sent him back.

[01:46:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And then for John Connor to then say to Cal Reese tell her

[01:46:18] [SPEAKER_02]: come with me if you want to live.

[01:46:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes and then in reprogramming the Terminator tell her come

[01:46:24] [SPEAKER_02]: with me if you want to live or like some something where like

[01:46:29] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe Sarah said that young John your father told me come

[01:46:32] [SPEAKER_02]: with me if you want to live just whatever was that went

[01:46:34] [SPEAKER_02]: into John Connor's head that that's the thing the

[01:46:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator should say yes.

[01:46:39] [SPEAKER_02]: You want to.

[01:46:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah that's great writing and the way they it's wonderful

[01:46:43] [SPEAKER_07]: where they do the movie.

[01:46:44] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah so I got a tie between when the T-800s first breaking

[01:46:50] [SPEAKER_12]: into the psych ward you know he non-lethaly caps one of the

[01:46:54] [SPEAKER_12]: guards in the leg and you know John is freaking out.

[01:46:57] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh my God.

[01:47:00] [SPEAKER_12]: And he just looks to him he's fine.

[01:47:03] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm first handsome with the line and then send me.

[01:47:06] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah they should do a pair to that but it's a tie between

[01:47:10] [SPEAKER_12]: that and when the gas truck hits at the end of the factory

[01:47:15] [SPEAKER_12]: and you see the guy running the place.

[01:47:18] [SPEAKER_12]: You know I just love how it is still acknowledging all the

[01:47:22] [SPEAKER_12]: people in the world are like I don't know what's happening

[01:47:25] [SPEAKER_12]: right now but we're fucking evacuating this is not our fight.

[01:47:30] [SPEAKER_12]: I just love that it acknowledges the whole reality

[01:47:33] [SPEAKER_12]: you know instead of just every human that you see is just a

[01:47:37] [SPEAKER_12]: target you know it's the showing the atmosphere that Jack

[01:47:40] [SPEAKER_12]: handed out earlier.

[01:47:41] [SPEAKER_12]: I feel you have a moment.

[01:47:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Some have already been mentioned but I'm going to.

[01:47:46] [SPEAKER_12]: It's hard.

[01:47:47] [SPEAKER_12]: It's hard.

[01:47:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to go with something like when Sarah Connor

[01:47:52] [SPEAKER_03]: John Connor and Arnie are all running away from the other

[01:47:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Terminator together they're actually acting like a unit

[01:48:00] [SPEAKER_03]: like a well trained unit running away from this and I really

[01:48:04] [SPEAKER_03]: love that part.

[01:48:06] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh man.

[01:48:08] [SPEAKER_12]: We can kind of just put all the rest in just one big corner

[01:48:11] [SPEAKER_12]: just one moment that stands hot.

[01:48:14] [SPEAKER_02]: The moment that Mike picked is one that I always look forward

[01:48:17] [SPEAKER_02]: to every time I watch the movie which is that Sarah

[01:48:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Connor is working to escape from the mental institution

[01:48:23] [SPEAKER_02]: yes she's almost out and then an elevator opens and her

[01:48:28] [SPEAKER_02]: worst nightmare walks out of the elevator.

[01:48:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes and it's she caught well God and she collapses she

[01:48:39] [SPEAKER_02]: collapses don't don't don't give that guy any any.

[01:48:45] [SPEAKER_02]: She drops her knees and screams and runs out like I love

[01:48:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that part so much but it's the one that I said

[01:48:53] [SPEAKER_02]: before which is and also on the extended version they

[01:48:58] [SPEAKER_02]: almost tip it too much where they they have the T-1000

[01:49:02] [SPEAKER_02]: starts glitching which is cool.

[01:49:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah but before John runs away he looks down at Sarah

[01:49:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Connor's feet and they're blending into the the catwalk

[01:49:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that he's standing on so that's how he knows that which

[01:49:18] [SPEAKER_02]: one is which I love that in the theatrical version

[01:49:21] [SPEAKER_02]: he doesn't need to look down.

[01:49:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He knows that the the week help me John one isn't his mom

[01:49:29] [SPEAKER_02]: the one that steps out with a gun and never thought about

[01:49:31] [SPEAKER_12]: that but that is a clear differentiation that steps out

[01:49:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and she says like run John or something like that and he

[01:49:38] [SPEAKER_02]: gets out of the way.

[01:49:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God I'm getting chills.

[01:49:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm getting chills.

[01:49:43] [SPEAKER_14]: BAM one arms do it like as her shoulders out and

[01:49:46] [SPEAKER_14]: she's doing the one arm thing the music builds and I love

[01:49:50] [SPEAKER_03]: it.

[01:49:50] [SPEAKER_03]: The whole thing where she's going where she's going help me

[01:49:53] [SPEAKER_03]: John help me and I'm like sitting there going he knows

[01:49:56] [SPEAKER_03]: better than that.

[01:49:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah he wouldn't be doing that.

[01:49:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But the 2000 doesn't know that he knows better.

[01:50:02] [SPEAKER_12]: He doesn't know he's just a AI.

[01:50:04] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[01:50:05] [SPEAKER_12]: So two good moments of tea for you.

[01:50:08] [SPEAKER_12]: How about just that that opening you're seeing him

[01:50:11] [SPEAKER_12]: narrate while he's on a motorcycle and then the

[01:50:13] [SPEAKER_12]: narration the minute the whole shit storms stops he

[01:50:17] [SPEAKER_12]: wrecks his bike and you know that starts the presidents

[01:50:20] [SPEAKER_12]: for you know I got to get drugs to heal the pain but I

[01:50:24] [SPEAKER_12]: just love how you don't expect that that's the gets

[01:50:27] [SPEAKER_12]: but it gets you in the movie you're like okay well

[01:50:29] [SPEAKER_12]: he's still on the run.

[01:50:32] [SPEAKER_12]: Mom is dead he's been looking out he's tired of people

[01:50:35] [SPEAKER_12]: arresting him or saying he's a crazy guy they used to

[01:50:38] [SPEAKER_12]: know at high school but how about the moment where

[01:50:40] [SPEAKER_12]: rooster's dad is about to push the button she's like

[01:50:42] [SPEAKER_12]: no don't push the button and then the TX comes in

[01:50:46] [SPEAKER_12]: and shoots him and she presses everyone's gonna sit

[01:50:50] [SPEAKER_12]: together like that's awesome I'm sorry like I she's

[01:50:54] [SPEAKER_12]: no waiting permission to start the thing that you

[01:50:57] [SPEAKER_12]: know activated in the first place.

[01:50:58] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah I just think it's a great first shout out to

[01:51:03] [SPEAKER_12]: all the other human genocide that's about to happen

[01:51:05] [SPEAKER_12]: and like you said before why is unlike other

[01:51:09] [SPEAKER_12]: movies I never feel like trust me I've had my share

[01:51:13] [SPEAKER_12]: of seeing certain Transformers or Avengers

[01:51:15] [SPEAKER_12]: movies where I feel like they were insensitive it was

[01:51:18] [SPEAKER_12]: a role in American movies like okay.

[01:51:20] [SPEAKER_12]: It's pretty insensitive to all the millions of people

[01:51:23] [SPEAKER_12]: who are about to get fucked up and die is like whenever

[01:51:26] [SPEAKER_12]: someone dies in these movies I do feel like they all

[01:51:29] [SPEAKER_12]: handle it with care is like okay.

[01:51:32] [SPEAKER_12]: There's enough build up I know that not everyone is

[01:51:34] [SPEAKER_12]: going to be a victim I know that everyone is also

[01:51:38] [SPEAKER_12]: vulnerable the bad guys even vulnerable he's he

[01:51:40] [SPEAKER_12]: shuts down at times so there's there's some

[01:51:43] [SPEAKER_12]: suspense that's what kills the predictable.

[01:51:47] [SPEAKER_02]: No speaking part in that in especially those first

[01:51:50] [SPEAKER_02]: two movies is cannon fodder.

[01:51:52] [SPEAKER_02]: No everybody's but I gotta tell you man the ending of

[01:51:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator 3 is the last time I think that series

[01:51:59] [SPEAKER_02]: was really ballsy.

[01:52:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I think the ending of Terminator 3 is is really

[01:52:02] [SPEAKER_02]: good.

[01:52:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean it has a one thing where it's it's lady

[01:52:11] [SPEAKER_03]: is you know it's saying you know it's inevitable

[01:52:13] [SPEAKER_03]: it's gonna happen and they hate him even more.

[01:52:16] [SPEAKER_12]: It happens why didn't you tell us that yeah yeah.

[01:52:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh man what comic played on that.

[01:52:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it Chris Hardwick.

[01:52:27] [SPEAKER_02]: No no comic book.

[01:52:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh I thought he said comic like stand up now.

[01:52:32] [SPEAKER_12]: He's in the third movie isn't the third one.

[01:52:36] [SPEAKER_06]: There was a comic that we read that there's a

[01:52:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Terminator comic that follows T3 and I can't remember

[01:52:45] [SPEAKER_06]: what's one of the ones I think I know actually.

[01:52:48] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah it is pretty recent it it it's weird they were like

[01:52:52] [SPEAKER_12]: we could only do follow the events of T2 but we're

[01:52:55] [SPEAKER_12]: we're throwing in T3 kind of acknowledgement.

[01:52:57] [SPEAKER_12]: Down was that one.

[01:53:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Not kill human it was the other one.

[01:53:03] [SPEAKER_03]: It's been decades since I read like the Burning

[01:53:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Earth that was like Alex Ross's first.

[01:53:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah one of his first like artistic.

[01:53:13] [SPEAKER_12]: Absolutely okay so it was Infinity and Revolution is

[01:53:16] [SPEAKER_06]: what you think infinity by dynamite.

[01:53:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah that was good shit I love that yes it was.

[01:53:23] [SPEAKER_12]: It even blows your mind how many of these pre date T2

[01:53:26] [SPEAKER_12]: and it's pretty easy to get people on board.

[01:53:30] [SPEAKER_12]: What is this whole saga about and I think this is why

[01:53:33] [SPEAKER_12]: this is United you guys movie gigs why you've been

[01:53:35] [SPEAKER_12]: involved in parts of entertainment and I applaud you

[01:53:38] [SPEAKER_12]: she he got to actually meet the legend himself you know

[01:53:41] [SPEAKER_12]: that's an experience but that's an experience you'll never

[01:53:44] [SPEAKER_12]: forget.

[01:53:45] [SPEAKER_12]: I know you I know you asked him a bunch of cool questions

[01:53:48] [SPEAKER_12]: but let's say you you were just so excited you know

[01:53:51] [SPEAKER_12]: sure your pets.

[01:53:53] [SPEAKER_12]: You would not forget that you know is describe this man

[01:53:58] [SPEAKER_12]: he can't describe himself that's how larger than life

[01:54:02] [SPEAKER_12]: he is.

[01:54:03] [SPEAKER_10]: I'm very I'm very blessed and honored to be you know part

[01:54:08] [SPEAKER_10]: of the Arnold fans like Randy like you know he's I mean we

[01:54:13] [SPEAKER_10]: started he started that fan club back in like 90 like

[01:54:16] [SPEAKER_10]: the or 90 that was really taken out exactly there's

[01:54:19] [SPEAKER_12]: only two arms but we didn't have.

[01:54:23] [SPEAKER_10]: But I think every year when I go to Columbus Ohio and I

[01:54:26] [SPEAKER_10]: you know see Arnold in person I mean it's just it's

[01:54:29] [SPEAKER_10]: awesome like it's it's I mean you know I think what it is

[01:54:34] [SPEAKER_10]: just you I can see my idol every year and it's it's cool

[01:54:39] [SPEAKER_10]: like and then my wife she's a Stallone bitch and she hasn't

[01:54:42] [SPEAKER_10]: met Stallone yet so she gets jealous of my my Arnold

[01:54:45] [SPEAKER_10]: this but but yeah I mean there's there's nobody big

[01:54:48] [SPEAKER_10]: larger than life and Arnold just flat out like you

[01:54:51] [SPEAKER_06]: know with any generation let's say which is the best.

[01:54:54] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah yeah so I mean like you know like you know

[01:54:59] [SPEAKER_10]: shaking his hand having a quick conversation or just

[01:55:03] [SPEAKER_10]: asking him some questions and and going to his office

[01:55:07] [SPEAKER_10]: and Santa Monica a few years ago get a tour of that and

[01:55:11] [SPEAKER_10]: hold an original Conan sword I mean that was all like awesome

[01:55:14] [SPEAKER_10]: and fantastic but it's you know like you know he's like

[01:55:19] [SPEAKER_10]: you're saying earlier.

[01:55:22] [SPEAKER_10]: Cam that it's like he's not stopped so whether be movies

[01:55:27] [SPEAKER_10]: or politics or or or fitness or anything he's just not

[01:55:30] [SPEAKER_10]: stopped like I mean I think he doesn't I think he like you

[01:55:34] [SPEAKER_10]: know he doesn't sleep I think he you know he says if you

[01:55:36] [SPEAKER_10]: sleep more than six out of six hours to eight hours I

[01:55:39] [SPEAKER_10]: suggest you sleep faster that's what he said.

[01:55:42] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a great great advice.

[01:55:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Fun fact Columbus Ohio.

[01:55:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah fun fact Columbus Ohio is actually named after Franco

[01:55:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Colombo and before before then it was Ole Thorson Ohio.

[01:55:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Only thoughts.

[01:56:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah that sounds like that for now.

[01:56:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh let's go.

[01:56:06] [SPEAKER_12]: Thorsten is the guy who gets beat up in most of his movies

[01:56:09] [SPEAKER_12]: but somehow it is into this franchise I don't know how

[01:56:12] [SPEAKER_03]: he's the stunt guy for Arnold is he.

[01:56:14] [SPEAKER_02]: No I think there was a bodybuilding friend no no I think

[01:56:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Colombo was his stand in but they're all they're all

[01:56:20] [SPEAKER_02]: just bodybuilding friends.

[01:56:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Sven Ole Thorson just sort of shows up in his movies as an

[01:56:26] [SPEAKER_02]: actor.

[01:56:26] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah Peter Kent is the one who does the stunt doubling for him

[01:56:31] [SPEAKER_12]: and he's on a hysterical episode of psych and they actually

[01:56:34] [SPEAKER_12]: mentioned that like hey what's this Arnold look like doing

[01:56:36] [SPEAKER_12]: here.

[01:56:37] [SPEAKER_10]: And then they're actually they're actually they're

[01:56:40] [SPEAKER_10]: working on Peter Kent I interviewed him.

[01:56:43] [SPEAKER_12]: I think a great guy right really nice guy and I had

[01:56:48] [SPEAKER_12]: done friends some guys I'm part of some stunt groups and I

[01:56:51] [SPEAKER_12]: saw some guys who were smack talking and I'm like he didn't

[01:56:54] [SPEAKER_12]: get a stunt car the right way I'm like.

[01:56:57] [SPEAKER_12]: Are you jealous much what am I missing here did he did you

[01:57:02] [SPEAKER_12]: meet him at a convention he pissed you off with the hell

[01:57:05] [SPEAKER_12]: right.

[01:57:06] [SPEAKER_10]: But I think I think they're working on a film called

[01:57:10] [SPEAKER_10]: Thrillsinkers.

[01:57:11] [SPEAKER_10]: I'm not sure if you've heard of that so it has to do

[01:57:13] [SPEAKER_12]: with like his like I'm a fan I love his two stargate

[01:57:16] [SPEAKER_12]: appearances he's he's just and the fact that how he got the

[01:57:20] [SPEAKER_12]: role was just by saying yes to everything.

[01:57:23] [SPEAKER_12]: Really it like I can do that and then James almost wanted

[01:57:27] [SPEAKER_12]: to kill him when he found out he didn't have his you know

[01:57:29] [SPEAKER_12]: stunt certificate.

[01:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:57:32] [SPEAKER_12]: It's like I could I could have been sued had I known

[01:57:36] [SPEAKER_02]: as someone while you did that as somebody who's never

[01:57:39] [SPEAKER_02]: met Arnold and might never meet like you never know but

[01:57:43] [SPEAKER_02]: like as someone never really things.

[01:57:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Better than any of us will ever be so give yourself some

[01:57:48] [SPEAKER_02]: old Shaw but like as someone who has never met him I just

[01:57:52] [SPEAKER_02]: have to ask what what is the energy when you actually

[01:57:55] [SPEAKER_02]: talk to that guy.

[01:57:56] [SPEAKER_10]: Actually I bet very good question so I mean every every

[01:58:01] [SPEAKER_10]: for me and also other people when you talk to him he

[01:58:06] [SPEAKER_10]: solely focuses on you and that's it so you it's like

[01:58:10] [SPEAKER_10]: this aura it's like it's like I can't explain it but

[01:58:13] [SPEAKER_10]: it's just like his like his full attention.

[01:58:15] [SPEAKER_12]: It really does have his eyes on you.

[01:58:20] [SPEAKER_10]: So that's just kind of like when you're talking to that's

[01:58:23] [SPEAKER_10]: how I divide and you get but also like if you have the

[01:58:27] [SPEAKER_10]: pump if you know if you join the pump club.

[01:58:30] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah actually response to people too with a club chat.

[01:58:34] [SPEAKER_10]: So we talk about a lot of things that just health

[01:58:36] [SPEAKER_10]: and fitness will talk about movies or anything like that

[01:58:38] [SPEAKER_10]: but it's just it's just that vibe like and then when

[01:58:42] [SPEAKER_10]: you're in the room with him he know his presence is there

[01:58:45] [SPEAKER_10]: like he just yeah but that's so like I mean I would say

[01:58:50] [SPEAKER_10]: Jack one day I would say I'm being positive that hopefully

[01:58:55] [SPEAKER_10]: each of you guys actually get to meet Arnold.

[01:58:57] [SPEAKER_12]: I love to and I saw there was a recent convention they

[01:59:02] [SPEAKER_12]: did where Loken Patrick Arnold for long roll at sometimes

[01:59:06] [SPEAKER_02]: here I think if I do meet them I'll make sure I send

[01:59:09] [SPEAKER_02]: you the picture it's going to be like the picture and say

[01:59:13] [SPEAKER_02]: anything like he'll be standing there and I'll just be in

[01:59:15] [SPEAKER_12]: the background like.

[01:59:17] [SPEAKER_12]: No boombox required perfect.

[01:59:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That quality that you talk about though that's sort of

[01:59:21] [SPEAKER_02]: like feeling like he's giving you personal attention.

[01:59:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I have found that that is a common thread in the really

[01:59:28] [SPEAKER_02]: big move like the the handful of a list movie stars

[01:59:32] [SPEAKER_02]: that I've met.

[01:59:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It almost feels like a tractor beam of their charisma

[01:59:35] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah that they send to you and you feel can I think

[01:59:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that's why people like that are movie stars they kind of

[01:59:43] [SPEAKER_02]: they know and they know how to make you comfortable with it

[01:59:46] [SPEAKER_02]: by sort of allowing you to enter into it.

[01:59:49] [SPEAKER_12]: I don't know if I've been fortunate enough to interview

[01:59:51] [SPEAKER_12]: yourself included like I if it was in any other time I would

[01:59:55] [SPEAKER_12]: be like oh my God I'd be fangirling but when you

[01:59:58] [SPEAKER_12]: only have them.

[02:00:01] [SPEAKER_02]: You have a really lame life to fangirl over me my

[02:00:05] [SPEAKER_02]: friend.

[02:00:06] [SPEAKER_12]: By the way I did that with Shay Ugar who hosts the young

[02:00:09] [SPEAKER_12]: Turks that was sure yeah I wanted to there's still 50

[02:00:13] [SPEAKER_12]: other questions I want to ask him so but I didn't have time

[02:00:16] [SPEAKER_12]: was not on my side I only had 60 minutes so I had to go

[02:00:21] [SPEAKER_12]: off book and stay on book and then still looking in the

[02:00:24] [SPEAKER_12]: eye you know what will I regret if I do not ask him

[02:00:28] [SPEAKER_12]: while acknowledging what he has done.

[02:00:31] [SPEAKER_12]: That's what I really want to I don't want it to just

[02:00:33] [SPEAKER_12]: be I ask you questions until my head explodes and you

[02:00:37] [SPEAKER_12]: prompt your socials you know it's just it's but it's not

[02:00:40] [SPEAKER_12]: easy to do because like she is just everybody that's

[02:00:45] [SPEAKER_12]: how I will that energy is a transport.

[02:00:51] [SPEAKER_12]: And once it's gone like back.

[02:00:55] [SPEAKER_12]: The reason people are powering greedy like it's a

[02:00:59] [SPEAKER_12]: wonderful sensation.

[02:01:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you have that moment where you're having a conversation

[02:01:03] [SPEAKER_02]: you realize you're talking twice as fast because you're

[02:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to get so much.

[02:01:10] [SPEAKER_14]: I know you're just setting a line for the bathroom but

[02:01:14] [SPEAKER_13]: I know you gotta take a shit hold away.

[02:01:18] [SPEAKER_13]: Let me give you the TP hold the law.

[02:01:20] [SPEAKER_12]: I know you've been asking this fucking stupid question

[02:01:22] [SPEAKER_12]: a million times.

[02:01:24] [SPEAKER_12]: I'll be here when you get out.

[02:01:28] [SPEAKER_13]: You need a courtesy.

[02:01:31] [SPEAKER_07]: I had a joke around Walter and George to K.

[02:01:39] [SPEAKER_07]: They both signed my happy reticum.

[02:01:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Walter Kennedy got told me he had the best one of

[02:01:45] [SPEAKER_07]: the best screams in pop culture history and he goes

[02:01:48] [SPEAKER_07]: yeah they gave me an Emmy Award for that.

[02:01:54] [SPEAKER_07]: I liked him in Miami Vice he says oh yes I stole

[02:01:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Melody Griffin from Don Johnson during that so that

[02:02:02] [SPEAKER_07]: the way they're doing a joke with you which is really fun

[02:02:05] [SPEAKER_07]: and Dana Gold was fun to me too.

[02:02:07] [SPEAKER_12]: He I felt like there's a reason he's a great writer.

[02:02:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah and and Dana is one of those guys who wants to

[02:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: have that conversation with you.

[02:02:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He wants to talk to you about he's a nerd just like

[02:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: us.

[02:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[02:02:19] [SPEAKER_02]: By the way speaking of Walter.

[02:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: So go ahead.

[02:02:21] [SPEAKER_07]: I told him I like I've been a fan of it ever since

[02:02:24] [SPEAKER_07]: I saw his HBO special where he does a you're alone

[02:02:27] [SPEAKER_07]: joke.

[02:02:27] [SPEAKER_07]: He says yeah but that was showtime.

[02:02:30] [SPEAKER_07]: It was so perfect because he knew what I was talking

[02:02:32] [SPEAKER_07]: about and he corrected me on it.

[02:02:34] [SPEAKER_12]: He doesn't just forget about all the shit people are

[02:02:36] [SPEAKER_12]: going to write.

[02:02:37] [SPEAKER_12]: That's great.

[02:02:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I've had a few pictures taken with some you know celebrities

[02:02:41] [SPEAKER_03]: and stuff and I feel very subconscious about invading

[02:02:46] [SPEAKER_03]: your personal space.

[02:02:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[02:02:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So I'll be like I'll be in the picture but I'm not quite

[02:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: touching them or you know something like that.

[02:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate that over the autographs.

[02:02:57] [SPEAKER_12]: I had to tell him how and I was joking around what he

[02:03:00] [SPEAKER_12]: could do next and he's like guess who wants to be my

[02:03:03] [SPEAKER_12]: agent.

[02:03:04] [SPEAKER_12]: I love seeing him prank around.

[02:03:07] [SPEAKER_12]: I don't you need that you need someone who can laugh

[02:03:09] [SPEAKER_12]: at yourself as opposed to someone who just just

[02:03:12] [SPEAKER_12]: gives you the death stare where you're like leave.

[02:03:15] [SPEAKER_12]: No.

[02:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: By the way speaking of a Walter canik which I know

[02:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: there was a couple celebrities go but you mean best

[02:03:22] [SPEAKER_12]: or from B5.

[02:03:22] [SPEAKER_12]: I'm just kidding.

[02:03:23] [SPEAKER_12]: Go ahead.

[02:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: But well speaking of him I got to say that when I watch

[02:03:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Terminator Salvation the biggest impression for me was

[02:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Dear Departed Anton Yelchin who I think was actually

[02:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of kind of terrific in that movie surprisingly

[02:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: right him like a teenage Kyle Reese and never gave

[02:03:43] [SPEAKER_12]: anyone any trouble.

[02:03:44] [SPEAKER_12]: He is a professional.

[02:03:46] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[02:03:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I like his rendition of playing check off for Star Trek.

[02:03:54] [SPEAKER_12]: He didn't overdo it and he had the same amount of old

[02:03:57] [SPEAKER_12]: talking about the cold nuts.

[02:03:58] [SPEAKER_06]: And he was terrific control Hunters on Netflix.

[02:04:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Nice.

[02:04:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It is a voice for that.

[02:04:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.

[02:04:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe his parents are Russian or Ukrainian or yes

[02:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: so he was he's doing their accent.

[02:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: He's doing family members accent in a so rather

[02:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: than doing Walter canik's Russian accent he's doing an

[02:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: actual Russian.

[02:04:17] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[02:04:20] [SPEAKER_12]: It has been a dynamite chat y'all like we this was a

[02:04:24] [SPEAKER_12]: decimation this was dynamite.

[02:04:27] [SPEAKER_12]: You're always welcome back Jack.

[02:04:28] [SPEAKER_12]: She he you know you always rock this gill in my always

[02:04:33] [SPEAKER_12]: dynamite Oreo you know we're going to do another

[02:04:36] [SPEAKER_12]: chat.

[02:04:37] [SPEAKER_12]: Well we will talk again soon because like again hopefully

[02:04:42] [SPEAKER_12]: we all created this infectious energy and created our own

[02:04:45] [SPEAKER_12]: cool resistance force.

[02:04:47] [SPEAKER_12]: You have to use the right quotes it's I'll be back.

[02:04:53] [SPEAKER_12]: I just I just can't top our own so I don't I don't try.

[02:05:00] [SPEAKER_15]: You live you live.

[02:05:05] [SPEAKER_15]: I would stick around away.

[02:05:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh that's different.

[02:05:08] [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah.

[02:05:08] [SPEAKER_12]: I like you that's why I'm going to kill your lust.

[02:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: People who really love commando always love to tell me to

[02:05:14] [SPEAKER_02]: love some steam and I'm always awesome.

[02:05:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm always happy to hear it.

[02:05:17] [SPEAKER_10]: I remember when I'm at camp I said so like you know I play

[02:05:21] [SPEAKER_12]: so I instantly saw your eyes turn red like you were targeting

[02:05:26] [SPEAKER_12]: my face.

[02:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody I work with I drive a Toyota Matrix and he walked

[02:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: up to my car with me said this is your car and I said

[02:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah and he went Bennett Matrix.

[02:05:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah my car was a commando reference the whole time when

[02:05:39] [SPEAKER_12]: I did valet there was a guy who once drove up and had a T

[02:05:42] [SPEAKER_12]: free car.

[02:05:43] [SPEAKER_12]: Oh wow like it was merchandise and everything he had it

[02:05:47] [SPEAKER_12]: sold somehow in 2017 I'm like it the fuck out what how much

[02:05:51] [SPEAKER_12]: is that car word.

[02:05:54] [SPEAKER_12]: Always a delight y'all I gotta I gotta go to my job call

[02:06:04] [SPEAKER_12]: hits and yeah LeBlanc and be on the run.
