[00:00:00] A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
[00:00:12] I wonder when the ways of the force have become a Jedi like my father.
[00:00:18] Over a thousand generations of Jedi knights were the guardians of peace before the dark times,
[00:00:24] before the empires.
[00:00:27] An adventure unlike anything on your planet, an epic of heroes.
[00:00:32] Sir, come get too fast! Don't worry.
[00:00:35] You're all together.
[00:00:38] You may be pulled again.
[00:00:44] I got him.
[00:00:46] And villains.
[00:00:48] Now I am the master.
[00:00:50] You can't win, dear.
[00:00:51] You can strike me down. I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
[00:00:58] The story of a boy, a girl and a galaxy.
[00:01:05] The force will be with you.
[00:01:07] Always.
[00:01:09] Star Wars, the saga begins.
[00:01:15] The Minister of the Spirits is at five!
[00:01:18] It's a Jacked Up Review Show.
[00:01:48] I'm a fan of the movie.
[00:01:54] I'm a fan of the movie.
[00:02:01] Welcome back to another All-Star Dicect of a galaxy far far away.
[00:02:07] We welcome from Star Wars Reactions, Aaron Harris.
[00:02:11] Hello, hello.
[00:02:12] And we got Jeff Arvuckle from Film Seizure.
[00:02:17] Welcome back to the movie.
[00:02:19] We're going to host the Iron Horse and the hero of the show.
[00:02:22] Let's talk.
[00:02:26] I've been in the show host with the most Dolbin Cox.
[00:02:30] What's up, everybody?
[00:02:31] Gaming and comic guy.
[00:02:33] Just hacking his own life as well.
[00:02:35] Oriole Rure.
[00:02:36] Let's talk some star Trek.
[00:02:39] We've been down to the wrong side.
[00:02:42] Oh, my lord.
[00:02:43] I want to talk for our Scar Wars.
[00:02:44] Right.
[00:02:45] The Mandalorian before it was cool.
[00:02:48] Yeah, so we got movie rifters themselves Mike Insing and Gil Palmer.
[00:02:54] Right.
[00:02:56] I'm your own solit and occasionally we will be having judge Yoda in the corner.
[00:03:01] Fucked up the sugar.
[00:03:03] Whoa, whoa, whoa coming into strong there my dude. Okay.
[00:03:07] So down, so down.
[00:03:08] I don't care if you're asked of you.
[00:03:10] No.
[00:03:11] Look is talking Yoda.
[00:03:12] So if we can get him to behave, we can probably get through this pretty good.
[00:03:17] Otherwise it's going to be five hours, but.
[00:03:19] Oh good.
[00:03:20] I think I think the force is strong.
[00:03:22] See, I decided it was finally time to do a giant star wars episode.
[00:03:26] We kind of had shyed away from it and not really gone too deep and do it surprisingly.
[00:03:31] As five years we've been doing this, but I just figured, hey, how about we just validate everybody every.
[00:03:36] So we're going to go to the other side.
[00:03:38] So to speak.
[00:03:39] It's going to get a take on this.
[00:03:41] And just let's go deeper into the well. Why do people feel that way instead of just endless, you know, it's slapping on the internet.
[00:03:49] Let's just let people ring this in and give it some.
[00:03:55] Composure so to speak.
[00:03:57] So.
[00:03:58] Dublin, you're probably the mega mega mega mega star wars guy.
[00:04:02] I'm going to let you go first.
[00:04:03] I know, man.
[00:04:04] I know you find a way to.
[00:04:07] A reference.
[00:04:08] I'm a huge star with that, but I don't have like actual Star Wars in my neighborhood.
[00:04:13] I just mean just narratively speaking here.
[00:04:15] I always find you'll find a way to make a reference to it.
[00:04:18] So.
[00:04:19] Oh yeah.
[00:04:20] I'm a huge star.
[00:04:21] I love all the movies, the anime series, just a long history of Star Wars.
[00:04:25] I was actually a part of an Star Wars audio drama.
[00:04:29] Yes, you were.
[00:04:30] I'm very fine fan made.
[00:04:33] Yeah, very fun awesome fan made audio drama.
[00:04:37] Oh, legacy if you guys want to look it up.
[00:04:39] Definitely check that out.
[00:04:40] Legacy as Star Wars audio dramas produced by Crystal Storm.
[00:04:43] It's a very, very good Star Wars audio drama that set in the old Republic days.
[00:04:50] Remember correctly?
[00:04:51] Yeah.
[00:04:52] I believe so.
[00:04:53] Yeah.
[00:04:54] So it is told from the perspective of the zip.
[00:04:57] Yeah.
[00:04:58] And there's some sex in it.
[00:05:00] So that's even better.
[00:05:01] Yeah, it's.
[00:05:02] I just.
[00:05:03] I'm not sure.
[00:05:04] A little bit more mature of a Star Wars story.
[00:05:07] It's not like the two of this sex, but it's right.
[00:05:09] But it was this.
[00:05:10] It was.
[00:05:11] It was cool.
[00:05:12] You like my fans.
[00:05:13] Definitely something you want to check out.
[00:05:15] But what do you want to start with?
[00:05:17] There's so many avenues of Star Wars.
[00:05:18] Right.
[00:05:19] So TV shows.
[00:05:20] You have the movies.
[00:05:21] Yeah.
[00:05:22] I'm going to let you rank on a five star skill.
[00:05:24] Like what are your five stars?
[00:05:26] What are your four and a halfs?
[00:05:27] Where you're three stars?
[00:05:29] What are your two stars?
[00:05:30] What do I do?
[00:05:31] I do it this way because I don't want to be negative on anything Star Wars today.
[00:05:34] I will give my top five favorite Star Wars things.
[00:05:40] Oh, just in general.
[00:05:41] I think that now I've been really cool with the Star Wars.
[00:05:44] Short cut.
[00:05:45] Okay.
[00:05:46] I don't get it done.
[00:05:47] Breaking the rules like always.
[00:05:49] Instead of like, you know, kind of like.
[00:05:51] Because you know, there's so much Star Wars media out there.
[00:05:53] I'm thinking of being really cool just to give you a five favorite Star Wars thing.
[00:05:56] That's not the word.
[00:05:57] So in no particular order.
[00:06:00] My number five is the Mandalorian.
[00:06:03] I love that they kind of took the form of them because we all star was fans always wanted like a Bob a fat TV series or something like that.
[00:06:14] Then we got it was like, uh, maybe we didn't want that.
[00:06:18] But at the same time, I think that the Mandalorian kind of.
[00:06:23] Unfortunately for Bob a fat kind of feel that spot that we wanted and they gave us this.
[00:06:28] For those Star Wars fans who wanted something new.
[00:06:31] Mandalorian season one is you to was that it was.
[00:06:36] In the same universe, but he didn't really have nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or the Jedi count on us.
[00:06:41] I just bought this guy this long gunslinger who had a job to do with him.
[00:06:45] Kind of found this child was kind of like a father figure this child think that was a really cool.
[00:06:51] Fantastic story that we kind of meet more in Star Wars.
[00:06:55] Mandalorian to me at least is what I want it from solo.
[00:07:01] I want it solo to have those type of stories.
[00:07:03] I always thought that solo would have worked better after series as opposed to a movie.
[00:07:08] Because there's so much lore with all solo in general.
[00:07:12] I think you can and land no for that matter.
[00:07:14] I'm going to tell so many different stories and kind of like expand on that universe.
[00:07:19] And I just love the whole atmosphere of mental or I think it's a really great series.
[00:07:24] And the cool thing about Mandalorian is.
[00:07:27] If you're not a Star Wars fan.
[00:07:30] You can come in and get it just like that.
[00:07:33] There are people I know who don't like Star Wars.
[00:07:35] Who like this term is the nerds and stuff like that who watch Mandalorian.
[00:07:39] Like this is fantastic.
[00:07:41] I love baby Yoda by me all the baby Yoda merch and stuff like that.
[00:07:44] So I think I think man knows just one of those shows just amazing.
[00:07:49] So props a man know.
[00:07:52] So woman to go when they keep going.
[00:07:54] I want to go around or show.
[00:07:58] I'll keep going.
[00:08:00] Yeah, your top five so you're on the number four.
[00:08:03] Now this was difficult.
[00:08:06] I was taking either Star Wars rebels or start with the Omega Clone Wars.
[00:08:12] I'm going to clock the war's animated series specifically because.
[00:08:18] For those who are cool young who young enough for old enough that matter to remember the prick was wasn't initially the prick was a kind of interest.
[00:08:27] Because the prequels came out.
[00:08:30] And I feel like when people saw them in theaters they liked them and then they thought about it and didn't like him.
[00:08:37] I enjoyed attacking the clones and theaters of the great experience.
[00:08:41] Yeah, I agree.
[00:08:42] And now we at this point because of the Clone Wars series.
[00:08:47] A lot of people have grown a greater appreciation for the prequels.
[00:08:53] And they have a big part to do it.
[00:08:55] I think Clone Wars series is how people would want to start with series to go.
[00:09:01] It tells this kind of cool into connect story about it gives you the full arc of Anakin.
[00:09:09] To Vader.
[00:09:11] And I love that they kind of show you the early stages of him kind of being kind of leader.
[00:09:20] And then if you watched the you watched the show to the end.
[00:09:24] Which was one of my favorite moments in Star Wars history.
[00:09:28] The fact that you get to the point where you see order 6666 in the show.
[00:09:35] And they show you a whole different perspective of it.
[00:09:38] And you start realizing the people who loved him from the show.
[00:09:42] I started to realize.
[00:09:43] Oh shoot.
[00:09:44] He might have something to do with this.
[00:09:47] And I think that was like a really emotional moment with a so called as you watched her grow from this.
[00:09:54] Paddle one to this kind of like awesome badass Jedi.
[00:09:58] And then you get to that moment like oh so does like really a force.
[00:10:02] To be reckoned with nothing cool thing about the Clone Wars series is which I don't think happens a lot media.
[00:10:08] In general, because usually us nerds we get our characters we like them and we don't.
[00:10:13] Kind of deviate from the characters that we love.
[00:10:16] Like you know they many medias like you know they've been trying to replace Batman Bruce Wayne is Batman forever.
[00:10:22] And he just keeps becoming back Batman and I think it's really cool that Star was able to add a character like a so Contano.
[00:10:31] And people are cool with it.
[00:10:32] My god yeah she's kind of awesome and it's kind of just kind of building.
[00:10:35] Same thing with men though.
[00:10:37] I love the fact that that show was able to build a whole universe based off of what they got from the prequel.
[00:10:46] And I think that's a really dope thing that I really appreciate personally.
[00:10:50] Lovely.
[00:10:51] All right let me go to my number three is going to be a little controversial.
[00:10:55] Pesticuit me.
[00:10:58] I'm going to go episode seven and this is why I'm going to episode seven.
[00:11:03] Take eight line out of the equation.
[00:11:06] The hype behind episode seven was so amazing and I one of the most memorable moments I have my life right now as a star was bad is going into the theater to watch episode seven.
[00:11:20] And getting the long lines that we had there and people cheering everything that was going on.
[00:11:27] I was I was an 80s kid so I didn't really get to see any of the star with movies except returning to Jedi theaters without like the original trilogy.
[00:11:37] Turning the Jedi in the theaters and I was like six.
[00:11:41] So going to take it my kids to see episode seven was kind of kind of huge and them kind of liking.
[00:11:49] And then I was like I'm a fan and Ray and Poe.
[00:11:52] And one of the C where their story went with that and hold the whole thing and I remember like there's certain moments when you go to the theater that you always remember.
[00:12:03] And I think I always say like when I went and go see Infinity War I remember.
[00:12:12] And I was like one and how people were shot when everybody was like dropping in the snap happening.
[00:12:20] They just see all their favorite here which is die and go away and people like legit shocked your people gasp in theater your people crying.
[00:12:27] I had that same experience in episode seven with spoilers on solo dies.
[00:12:33] People like people were like in shock because the people just didn't even know even saying for years kill me off stop bringing back.
[00:12:43] Just kidding for years just kill my character but the moment when it happened on screen people who like a legit shot and quiet and in a theater that was hyped the whole time to get that type of quiet is not something that always happens to be it is it.
[00:13:01] I really appreciate what episode seven did in terms of bringing whole new generation of Star Wars fans into the world.
[00:13:10] I think that was a really cool thing like it take out episode eight nine would have you want to say about either one of those moves because those are the ones that are more controversial but episode seven alone was really cool and brought a whole new generation of Star Wars fans into the business.
[00:13:24] I thought I really appreciate that.
[00:13:27] That's nice.
[00:13:28] Right so two in one two in one then I'll introduce Hans.
[00:13:35] Hey.
[00:13:36] Yes nice to meet you action movie and comic book movie book club welcome aboard.
[00:13:42] Hey thanks for having me yeah.
[00:13:44] I'm just starting to get on it just crashed and then it takes forever to start back up.
[00:13:49] The force is strong with this computer.
[00:13:51] Yeah, it's just in mommy.
[00:13:53] I guess maybe my rankings are are a lot there didn't want me to.
[00:13:58] That's all good.
[00:13:59] I'll go.
[00:14:00] My number two.
[00:14:01] I will go with the prequel trilogy.
[00:14:05] And I say the prequel trilogy.
[00:14:07] I feel like.
[00:14:12] It's kind of parallel to how people feel about seven eight nine the prequel trilogy kind of laid out the foundation for what the future of Star Wars is and I think it was really interesting to see.
[00:14:28] At least to me at least star star wars movie made with technology behind it because you know the original trilogy was made kind of like it was.
[00:14:36] What a low budget.
[00:14:38] But we got it and we loved it for what it was.
[00:14:41] Saying the trick the prequel trilogy in the ships all shiny looking new.
[00:14:46] And kind of like all the special effects of things and there are moments like whether you like to move into their moments in the prequel trilogy.
[00:14:53] To me that are amazing like the fight with general grievous I love I love the fight.
[00:14:59] The big old battle and attack of a clone you see all the Jedi fighting together.
[00:15:03] This is pretty cool.
[00:15:04] There are moments in the prequel trilogy that I think that are really cool that people want to see for a long time and I know people who have product with like emo and it can stuff like that.
[00:15:13] And he was.
[00:15:18] Well, I think overall I love how they are now kind of retconn of that stuff in a way that kind of makes it work.
[00:15:30] Like it feels like the things that are happening now are kind of making up for the sins of the past.
[00:15:36] Like even the guy who played jaw-junk got to come back and be a badass in another series of like that's pretty cool.
[00:15:43] They're doing a marvel and start tracking me fair and two is this what didn't work, what was a good idea in paper but not when I said let's just make it make better sense.
[00:15:53] Which I appreciate I love that we had a point where we can do that and I think that.
[00:15:58] Now that we can able to have the resource to do that it kind of makes the prequel trilogy feel a lot better than it did back then like the things that we didn't have context for we have context for now and I love that we have that like the whole thing with general grievous and dark mall.
[00:16:17] That's the perfect example of it.
[00:16:19] The dark mall was a badass to everybody loved that for the long time people like damn they killed them off in the first one really.
[00:16:29] You kind of like gets a clue was then you get to the Clone Wars TV series and you're like oh he's alive and then you see a whole story arc with dark mall.
[00:16:40] And like this is kind of awesome this kind of badass and I appreciate that we would have never got them if we wouldn't get episode one.
[00:16:51] In these bad ass kind of I think that's kind of like I feel like that is if that trick prequel trilogy draws looks is kind of last one so we're starting with us it's fun.
[00:17:03] So that was the vision he had for it and while we didn't all love it at the time I think as time goes on I appreciate a lot more than I did back then.
[00:17:13] Lovely ranking up was never one one is of course the original trilogy.
[00:17:20] I kind of it's kind of hard for me to write these movies because I love them in so many different ways.
[00:17:27] I see like the third one of course like well yeah returning to Jedi was the first one I actually saw in theaters so that one holds a special place in my heart.
[00:17:36] Then you have Star Wars the original one that started everything out that I just really love and then you have every pie of strikes back where there's one in a few movies that I saw as a kid that was a bad guy one.
[00:17:46] I thought that was like a really cool ending to a film and I'm like good and even though I when it when it came out because I didn't see that when first I saw that one second I think yeah so that would second.
[00:18:02] So I didn't I didn't have to wait to see the resolution of it like but I imagine that a lot of people who saw return it like an empire strikes back that was like a pivotal moment in their life like oh.
[00:18:14] The good guys didn't win this is how we end it bad guys one and that's the dude got a hand cut off and credits like that's kind of a unique thing for a movie to do even like back then it and I kind of really appreciate that Star Wars took a lot of chances with special effects with practical effects with everything is that we're bringing these unique characters like R2D2C through PO.
[00:18:43] The job everything in the head because they had so much stuff into so many things that you can even name and you have Han Luke Lea and given this kind of own world at pretty much never been there before even look at things like flash Gordon in buck Rogers.
[00:18:59] That great and I love those days too but it's not on the level like what Star Wars was and I think I think and to be with Jonathan is come close to it really in that time probably Star Trek and even Star Trek was vastly different because Star Trek was kind of like this.
[00:19:17] It was the nice but it was like the smart man's Star Wars.
[00:19:23] Yeah, it was more like the space procedural with Star Wars like the action movie.
[00:19:30] It was like oh this is kind of like a really cool thing and I just kind of appreciate that.
[00:19:37] That's a good idea.
[00:19:39] Is Delvin past the Jedi exam?
[00:19:41] Yes.
[00:19:42] Yes you guys.
[00:19:43] Hard to answer your word.
[00:19:46] Probably he was.
[00:19:49] Okay, close it off I was there I appreciate that after all these years we still have Star Wars and we still have a whole generation of people that still love it to this day.
[00:19:57] Amen.
[00:19:58] That's so about this rule.
[00:19:59] Yep.
[00:20:00] Lovely.
[00:20:02] Okay, I feel like the I'm getting some force tingling from Aaron's direction.
[00:20:07] How about we let him pitch in?
[00:20:09] Man, you haven't hit it.
[00:20:11] They brought on it.
[00:20:12] There's so much I got to say, Delvin, I love what he said about episode seven because the hype around that movie was absolutely perfect.
[00:20:23] And I'm actually sitting here reworking my list because I didn't know we could you know use the whole trilogy as one option.
[00:20:28] I mean however you want to rank him just a five star.
[00:20:32] You don't want to say anything about that.
[00:20:35] You know, I didn't know you want this.
[00:20:38] Yeah, exactly.
[00:20:39] Um, you know, for for me, uh, I'm actually going to mirror what Delvin did with it, with a top five because you don't want me talking about all of Star Wars will be here all night.
[00:20:53] Got another.
[00:20:54] Yeah, I'm just curious.
[00:20:56] So we are for me number five, certain from five is all of the Thrawn books.
[00:21:05] Going back to the original ones that Timothy Zon wrote, uh, the original ones are the Empire and those to the new ones he wrote to the Thrawn trees and legions.
[00:21:16] And of course, the ascendancy trilogy.
[00:21:19] There's just so much story in those books and so much depth and character building in those books, especially around a character that I fell in love with when he originally created it back at the original.
[00:21:35] And then he said, you know, I love the Thrawn books.
[00:21:43] And it gives you a glimpse at a, especially when you get into the ascendancy trilogy into another part of the galaxy, another life outside the empire, which is awesome to through the eyes of a different race.
[00:21:59] Which which I found quite enjoyable.
[00:22:01] For me, for would be Mandalorian.
[00:22:11] The first step into that live action TV.
[00:22:17] Because we all know that the Christmas holiday special doesn't count.
[00:22:24] The Mandalorian.
[00:22:28] And I say that without even seeing it, I have not seen the holiday special.
[00:22:34] What do you think of it?
[00:22:36] I know that you're on your own supplies.
[00:22:38] But Manda was just awesome.
[00:22:44] We had the exploration of brand new characters.
[00:22:54] It was something that everybody, whether you like star wars or whether you're not a fan could get into it.
[00:23:02] And the new characters in my Lord with all of the baby Yoda grog you stuff that just started flying everywhere.
[00:23:12] It was just you couldn't go anywhere or do anything without rounding a quarter.
[00:23:20] Oh, look, it's a baby Yoda spatula.
[00:23:22] Oh, look, baby Yoda bananas.
[00:23:25] That's what I wanted to do.
[00:23:27] And then I wanted to create a hype unmatched and it was worth it.
[00:23:33] I mean, the stories were awesome. The characters were great.
[00:23:37] And I am still mad.
[00:23:39] I'm waiting this long for season four.
[00:23:42] You love that.
[00:23:44] I was shopping a year ago.
[00:23:46] And someone who clearly had never seen a star wars moving their life.
[00:23:49] ugly. I'm like, oh okay. I'm like, oh okay.
[00:23:54] Okay. But I'm just like, I'm just kidding a toy. I didn't question her. I'm not here to cause trouble
[00:24:00] but I just try to do. I was pretty much trying to not get far on the spot.
[00:24:04] Because I never really had a hearing. Is that baby? She ugly.
[00:24:08] To sit down baby, he's like, lady, no.
[00:24:12] I'm seeing what you're overreaching produce. You the fucking old legends.
[00:24:17] Oh my God.
[00:24:19] All right. Hi, Frances.
[00:24:22] Oh, right. So, but yeah, Mando, Mando is great.
[00:24:27] It still is and it brought back characters, made connections.
[00:24:33] And they did really good at writing in connections to the other parts of the of the saga,
[00:24:39] connecting it to the original trilogy, connecting it to the the sequels in their own right.
[00:24:48] Which those are another story I don't even want to get into.
[00:24:52] But fabulous, fabulous storytelling in Mando, which leads me to my number three,
[00:24:59] which is all a part of that Mando verse to me is a soka.
[00:25:05] I absolutely adore the a soka series mainly because of how it connects to my number one,
[00:25:13] but so it was just simply incredible.
[00:25:18] I never thought in which crazy is I never thought that I could walk away from a series
[00:25:27] and just be so enamored with the character, the way I was with Balan Skull.
[00:25:37] He is just such a complex character.
[00:25:41] And so in oh my gosh, racing was played, played him so well.
[00:25:48] And it just there was just an air of, I want to almost say royalty and regalness.
[00:25:57] And he carried himself like doo koo but was wise like Qui-Gon.
[00:26:02] I mean, it was it was really strange. Yes, gravitas is grav. Oh man.
[00:26:07] Thank you for that. He was just such a powerful character.
[00:26:12] And it honest as much and I love the series. I loved seeing all the rebels connections.
[00:26:17] I loved seeing a soka but and of course seeing live action, brawn for the first time.
[00:26:23] But race Balan Skull and connection, of course his apprentice Shen Hati.
[00:26:31] Those characters, especially Balan just was really strong character.
[00:26:37] I just, I, it breaks my heart. We're not going to see race even some play this guy again.
[00:26:45] Oh absolutely. He just, it was such a powerful role.
[00:26:52] And definitely something I will always go back to.
[00:27:00] For me number two revenge revenge of the Sith.
[00:27:04] That was just a power to shine it was for me.
[00:27:09] Quite down you know, yeah, stop it. Let him finish his ranking.
[00:27:14] Yeah, but the Palpatine guy best of you on that one. No offense.
[00:27:19] It was such a big.
[00:27:24] Quite down quite down. You know, right.
[00:27:29] I think that's what it was.
[00:27:36] That was just such an awesome movie.
[00:27:39] It was, it was a great way to tie up the.
[00:27:43] The prequels. To me it had some of the best soundtrack to come out of the period.
[00:27:48] Period outside of dual of the fates from Phantom Menace.
[00:27:53] Fun fact, but very dark year for John Williams scores Munich, which also is a score that makes one cry.
[00:27:56] This man.
[00:27:58] Yeah, I mean he has scored so many so many so many movies that will make you tear up. It's ridiculous.
[00:28:05] But he's just a credit to his.
[00:28:09] Just his profession man.
[00:28:11] But revenge is set. I love the complexity of how it ended.
[00:28:17] I loved how that.
[00:28:20] I loved how that was.
[00:28:23] It was a massive fight between Anakin and who was then Vader and Obi-Wan.
[00:28:28] And it's just so, especially Obi-Wan speech right there at the end.
[00:28:35] When he's just.
[00:28:37] And he's just.
[00:28:40] And he's just.
[00:28:42] On Anakin right there at the end and Anakin all Anakin you do is look at him and say he hates them.
[00:28:45] And he's.
[00:28:47] Obi-Wan sitting there pouring out his heart.
[00:28:49] I mean it is.
[00:28:51] It is really a gut check moment in the saga.
[00:28:56] And it to me was a.
[00:28:59] One of those ways that you know.
[00:29:02] At that point, you know what the future holds.
[00:29:05] And you know, I was like, I'm not sure if you've ever heard me talk or ever listen to my show.
[00:29:15] This is not going to come to a surprise surprise.
[00:29:18] Number one is Star Wars Rebels.
[00:29:21] I absolutely love that show from the very first moment.
[00:29:26] The very first episode premiered on when they did the sneak peak on ABC before it aired on Disney.
[00:29:32] And all those Ty, before the city of Litha, pops up.
[00:29:37] You hear the tie fighters come soaring in.
[00:29:40] My mind just went this is this took me right back to the original trilogy.
[00:29:45] And I just was like this is Star Wars.
[00:29:49] And I just I soaked up every bit of Rebels.
[00:29:54] I could get the characters I loved choppers by far my.
[00:29:59] My favorite droid I got a life size one standing in the quarter behind me.
[00:30:04] Better to do.
[00:30:06] I just yeah, and I love everything about the story telling.
[00:30:14] Especially there toward the end when you're start getting into the empire squashing everything and trying to squash the Rebels.
[00:30:24] And then of course the tragedy that ensues throughout the series with the loss of eventually the loss of Canaan Jeras.
[00:30:34] The first blinding then the death of Canaan and just that journey for him through the series it's your journey in that series is just.
[00:30:48] It's so Star Wars. I mean you have that because Canaan is almost on a journey of redemption, redemption himself.
[00:30:56] Well Ezra is trying to find who he is while Hera is just trying.
[00:31:02] Hera is just trying to free the hell.
[00:31:05] Yeah, to great ship to the great.
[00:31:10] But there is has the Jedi exam master Yoda.
[00:31:15] I'll try to see us much.
[00:31:17] All right, can't argue with that man. Is everyone going to get a passing grade on the exam?
[00:31:23] Nice to meet you Jamie Burrito.
[00:31:28] It was an interesting way for me to get in there.
[00:31:30] Yeah, welcoming from the morbidly beautiful podcast network welcome.
[00:31:34] Yes, thank you. Hello, don't get your moment of the sun. Sure. Sure.
[00:31:38] Will Jamie pass master Yoda. I hope so.
[00:31:42] The person is much.
[00:31:43] I was about to geek out on John Williams. I'm a crazy John Williams fan.
[00:31:48] So the point where there's a part of the score in dial a destiny that is on the soundtrack to last crusade but not in the last crusade movie.
[00:32:02] Interesting. I didn't realize that tank battle in last crusade there's the soundtrack you you hear during the movie on the soundtrack the tape well CD now.
[00:32:14] It's a totally different track and it sounds like it's reversed like the track you you you you're hearing during the movie is reversed and that's what's put on the soundtrack or vice versa.
[00:32:26] And in dial in dial a destiny the same track is heard again, but it's the reverse one in the movie.
[00:32:33] Not I'm sorry see what I mean geek out.
[00:32:36] Geek out your phone. You're so loud. No, okay.
[00:32:42] All right, hey Yoda, you're not going to shame us into our parents basement will you walk up? You will.
[00:32:47] Okay, that's very encouraging words.
[00:32:49] So let's pump it is not taking kindly to us, but that's all good. I think he has positive things to say about Jeff's ranking.
[00:32:56] So we're going to let you go.
[00:32:58] You want to share it just yeah, I kind of think I'm going to I'm going to kind of do some kind of side stuff because one of the things that I like to say about myself is that while I'm very sentimental about certain things and certainly star Wars.
[00:33:15] I mean, I was born three and a half months before the first one came out. So it's like it's always been there.
[00:33:21] Oh man like me. Yeah, so like you know and and and Dolvin, I certainly appreciate like you know what it was like going to see.
[00:33:31] Return of the Jedi will put a bookmark on that because I'm going to come back around.
[00:33:36] And I'm going to say that that's going to be part of what I'm going to say here while like Star Wars has always been there for me.
[00:33:42] It's like, I'll always say this like really what I kind of did a lot more of when I was growing up was watching Star Trek and Doctor who.
[00:33:49] But that was because that's because those are like the real sci-fi type stuff where where I always look at Star Wars is like fantasy.
[00:33:57] But there's right factor. Yeah, and there's all the other stuff around Star Wars that seem to kind of trigger like the like the feel good bits in my brain that do more than just the movies themselves.
[00:34:12] So I guess one I guess the first thing I'll talk about is back when I was a kid, there used to be this documentary and it's actually on YouTube you can watch it now.
[00:34:23] That was like a making of Star Wars C3PO and R2D2 hosted.
[00:34:29] And it was like this weird kind of combination of like, it was meta but it was also like they were talking about like the production of them like as if their life story was being told.
[00:34:41] And it's kind of silly. It's very late 70s in that regard. There's just a lot of things because they talked about like where the ideas of the movies came from and they showed those original, those original like concept art that looks like the stormtroopers are wearing more like oxygen like almost like they're wearing diverse suits more than they were wearing armor.
[00:35:03] And like everybody has a has a lightsaber and Han Solo was a weirdo alien and stuff like that.
[00:35:10] It showed more than I think what most people realize we got back then pre-internet before every movie was talked about like to death.
[00:35:19] It also talked a little bit about like some of the merchandising and it was the first time I ever heard the Star Wars theme in disco.
[00:35:28] Sorry that I ever did. But after the Delmarie parody.
[00:35:32] Yeah, I don't know. I really still hold album of this.
[00:35:38] Oh God it was something else and you know like people in like their teens in the early 20s like disco dancing to with Star Wars shirts.
[00:35:50] It was weird but you know it was just it's one of those things. It's like just a couple of years ago, actually I watched that again and it's like wow I remember every minute of this I remember every detail of like the little space that like R2D2 and C3PO were
[00:36:07] kind of watching you know or kind of like hosting this from and it's just it's really cool because it's like it was really the kind of the first thing that I remember.
[00:36:17] Like learning about like the stuff that goes on to make a movie.
[00:36:22] And all of that stuff is so sanitized now because like you know no company wants to like talk about like the struggles of making that movie.
[00:36:33] And so just to kind of hear like you know that yes indeed George Lucas is kind of not a great actors director.
[00:36:43] Like he's got so much stuff going on that he can't really like communicate with actors you can kind of see that a little bit.
[00:36:53] So it was it's kind of cool and it's something that I always like like it's like one of my earliest memories of thinking about that of that sort of stuff.
[00:37:02] And that's a really cool thing going back to like the lead up to episode one I worked at a video store right after high school in 95.
[00:37:12] So I want to see an in camping outside of a theater.
[00:37:15] I know it actually no I actually had friends who were camping out and me and another buddy just gave them some money is like yeah we're going to go to the comic shop see you later.
[00:37:25] And wait and like summertime heat which I guess technically like mid May wasn't super hot but I was against camp outside the lead up to that.
[00:37:36] The trailer the you know the the excitement of it all coming back and we were all kind of tipped off to that because like like I said I worked at a video store right after high school and starting in 95.
[00:37:52] And then around that time they released the THX remastered VHS and laser discs of the of the last time they were ever going to put like the original trilogy before the special editions they all came out in that in that time.
[00:38:09] Each one of those tapes had a piece of an interview I can't remember what the journalist was that did the interview but was with George Lucas and he was talking about writing new star wars movies and we were told right there anybody who stayed through them you watch through them.
[00:38:25] The credits and got to those interviews we were told the new star wars was coming and then we got the special editions which are hit and miss but you could kind of feel like things were ramping up to that.
[00:38:37] And once the like all of the marketing machine started pushing out like the episode one stuff the trailer the you know it looked like a star wars movie I mean you know here you have Tatooine you have.
[00:38:52] You know a lot more I mean aside from the from the droids and stuff like that like a lot of like practical effects that I kind of felt were sorely missing in the in the other two prequel movies it was just exciting my favorite memory of all that was when they were going to release the toys.
[00:39:10] And me and a bunch of friends went to like a midnight opening of Toys or Us and they just had stacks of the star wars figures like in a in a just in a like a just in like a bucket basically and then they had these stacks of like vehicles and everything and like all of that it was old but it was new at the same time it was so exciting.
[00:39:35] Knowing it's like oh my god who is this character what is this character what's going on here and then they had those little those little stands that had like the little chips that could like say lines from the movie and all of it was just it was just awesome and and then it got out like all those Pepsi cans that had different characters on them like I collected all those yeah I collected all of those I mean it was just an awesome time.
[00:40:03] And it felt like now I don't know if I've ever been as big of a star wars and as I was in those six months or those first six months of 1999.
[00:40:15] And it was just it was just an awesome time to be a fan of those movies and to know that they were coming back and there was going to be something new and we can live beyond the three that we had.
[00:40:27] And to kind of tie to that my third thing is there was a dark horse comic series that started right around the time the episode one came out and there were it was six part arcs in each art for a little while had a different lead character.
[00:40:46] And so the first one was what's his name Kai a D Mundi the guy with the big cone head yes yeah I call him Mr. Butthead but he was sorry.
[00:41:03] I think I'm not okay.
[00:41:06] He was the lead of that of that first arc and in that it talked about like a former apprentice of his that became like a sand like who I joined up with the same people and then he had a son that he was kind of teaching the force to get story.
[00:41:23] Yeah really it's a lot of 66 or something.
[00:41:26] Yeah I think I do recall that yeah that's again.
[00:41:28] Yeah and so that whole thing like it opened up like all of this kind of mythos about like all of these different because you know all of our lives before that all we knew were Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader we knew of Luke we knew of Yoda we knew of Obi-Wan.
[00:41:47] We didn't know any of these other characters I have a lot to say about how they how they did the mythology of how like Jedi are not supposed to be you know having relationships with someone there's a lot to say about that but it's not it was actually married.
[00:42:04] Yeah so like yeah and then like his whole thing was I think he had two brains so he had like extra force powers of some sort.
[00:42:11] Yeah and as people had like a problem with having male children so like they had a population issue so it was allowed to have he had like a bunch of lives against it's kind of a mess of something with them right.
[00:42:24] Got it right yeah even space Mormon yeah so yeah so it's like that whole that whole series because then it later.
[00:42:33] Got into like these other characters and then I can't think what's the guy's name with the yellow stripe on his nose.
[00:42:43] Oh not not a lot to you're thinking he was he almost hit like dreadlocks.
[00:42:51] He was based off of like Billy from predator yeah really.
[00:42:56] I have a Quillen boss Quillen boss yeah and then a list of like a rock star yeah yeah yeah okay the Navajo adventure they had a great story.
[00:43:09] Yeah he because his padawan was was was a little secure and so of course she came through in the she was when we saw her die or in order 66.
[00:43:20] She was the most brutal death yeah she did yeah they just like hey you got her.
[00:43:25] Yeah it's like you got her and then that's a hard.
[00:43:28] He did he is unloaded on her at her Kinney in the border right so then they yeah so it's like that whole like that whole series.
[00:43:38] And then around that same time they had like Star Wars tales that had that really funny story about about the red droid that Luke.
[00:43:48] That's a skip skip skip skip skip skip the the four cents of droid sacrificing himself because he knew that R2 had to go with Luke and yeah it's like all of that stuff.
[00:44:01] Yeah it's like all of that stuff is just is it was just fantastic and I just could not get enough of that and right up until like it reverted back to Marvel.
[00:44:14] All of those you know all of the I kept reading all of the series the dark horse did because they were just they were very well and tightly.
[00:44:23] You know kind of connected and written and it was great.
[00:44:28] Yeah then so I guess yeah number.
[00:44:33] Number two now I guess.
[00:44:35] Kind of similar and that is like the hype of.
[00:44:40] Oh wait it's coming through the headphones already yeah.
[00:44:42] The the hype of.
[00:44:46] For me as a six year old return to Jedi and all of the stuff that that that that kind of again the merchandising of that.
[00:44:56] To this day behind me right there that's a return to the Jedi shelf that I had like a whole bunch of return to Jedi furniture in my bedroom.
[00:45:05] And the back of the of each shelf is a picture is an art picture of particular scenes like job as barge indoor and the speeder bikes.
[00:45:18] Like but my favorite thing of all of that stuff even more so than the three part Marvel comic adaptation of it was the pepperage farms cookies that came out with those they had a bag of vanilla.
[00:45:33] A bag of chocolate and a bag of peanut butter cookies that sounds about right yeah the vanilla were like Luke and like a bunch of good guys.
[00:45:44] The peanut butter were like Han and Chuy and like the things that are kind of like Java like the people like kind of in in between.
[00:45:54] And then the chocolate ones were all the like the the Empire guys I remember this yeah yeah.
[00:46:01] Yeah those were so freaking good.
[00:46:05] And like I do not know why those are so like embedded in my memory.
[00:46:11] I think it's because because I used to like oftentimes stay at my dad's because my mom would work nights and I think for some reason he kept buying them because dad's one of those people who was like, oh you like you like Star Wars anyway you can introduce it.
[00:46:25] No, no it's like no it was one of those things where it's like oh you like Star Wars you like cookies you must like Star Wars cookies and he's right.
[00:46:33] But like that he like he didn't like it was it was just him picking up what he knew I liked so you know and it's like it just so happens that he picked the like the best cookies that were ever ever made never back.
[00:46:47] And ever to have stamped on them like faces of Star Wars characters there was so much about like return the Jedi I mean being six years old I was like I was fully in man I had I had shirts I had figures I had the furniture I had you know all of this stuff that was just like it was all directed right at me as a six year old.
[00:47:13] And it's why I understand like I have a friend who's like 12 to 15 years I can't remember exactly how old he is younger than me that the prequels are his movies.
[00:47:25] And I was like, you know because the original trilogy was going on when I was a kid if that was going on when he was a kid or like one of my buddies kids like the like the sequels the most that makes perfect sense because those are the you know that's the era in which they were raised.
[00:47:43] What era GI Joe are transformers did you grow up on exactly it's like yeah it's always going to be G1 for me you know but like you know for at least as far as like that sort of stuff.
[00:47:54] But but number one for me I mean it's I think this is going to be kind of common for a lot of people but it's it's the Empire Strikes Back everything everything about Empire Strikes Back is Star Wars to me.
[00:48:07] I love the design of that movie I love how how everything like the color palettes of each of the places that they go to like Hoth is like entirely white and all that snow but yet it still looks lived in because they have to chisel their base out of like a.
[00:48:23] Tundra basically cloud city all of that like orange sky and then the like the look of the inside of best pin well cloud city inside of the actual yeah I always get confused.
[00:48:36] I'm rooting out Eric yeah yeah.
[00:48:39] And then of course, you know, way too neat Joe okay my bad different alien blood all right.
[00:48:46] But but the Dagobah whereas like everything there is grimy and gross and that's where Yoda has hidden out and and just as a kid how can you not like Yoda like you got a.
[00:49:01] Like it's just his silliness at the beginning and then you then that turn where it's like you realize like all this guy is like a super badass that's awesome.
[00:49:12] But the you know, but it's just it's a just everything about I mean like it is the most perfect continuation of characters that were you know established in a and a you know so it's like a sequel but it's not really a sequel because it's continuing the characters is continuing the saga.
[00:49:37] It is about as perfect of a way to to continue those character realistic and realized state and that's I mean how how can how can you go wrong with Empire Shucks back.
[00:49:51] You never know.
[00:49:53] Bad ass okay so first off I'm going to make my manners welcoming speaking Hans speaking of predator we got Aaron and Cliff from the predator minute podcast well can you hear me yeah absolutely okay great because I can't
[00:50:11] get a mic your for sure yeah all right yeah you just have Aaron right now right Clifford's make sure you're meditating I'll be back from the jet I can't use this can you hear that yeah there you go okay but perfect standing up for Cliff yes I can do that yeah so we're going to keep the train gravy train rolling i'll tell you what I'll get my ranking the fuck out of the way is that okay with you Yoda yeah sure I am.
[00:50:39] Okay that's as good as still of approval as I'm going to get can't agree with the guys more and this is been a pretty civilized conversation I love how we've all kind of just taken into hey there's no point in bickering out over a toy commercial that still means so much more than the average bear.
[00:50:57] So i'm going to go with a classic a five out of five stars i'm going to rank Empire Shucks back revenge of the Sith and the Mandalorian these are space westerns these are perfect on sound.
[00:51:08] Perfect on samples for everybody the grittiness actually is magnetic in a way I don't have any issue with them other than the scruffy looking nerf her to line but this is me four and a half out of five i'm going to give to the original film I love the guns of Navarone type cinematography the fully editing and Rick Baker makeup it's hard to believe that it was a shit storm on set.
[00:51:34] That just goes to show you the magic of movie making also going to give credit to the book above a fact I realized that many found it anti-climatic for me I just loved how it was kind of underbelly of the various soldiers and murk lifestyle that I had always kind of pictured seeing in the books.
[00:51:53] Then i'm going to give a four out of five to the original expanded universe books including air to the empire.
[00:51:59] The comics and most of the video games Rogue one the canobi show and the clone wars two thousand free cartoon by jenny turtowski I just love again the art direction people are building on lucas's vision it's kind of like with.
[00:52:13] People like we talked about with Star Trek people go it's not Ron Berry I'm like it doesn't need permission to be what it is you know it's just.
[00:52:23] If you actually get detailed into this these are page turners now personally I think I just dug the canobi show because it was kind of an excuse for him to Gregor to go all taken but I also just kind of dug how they built better on the Senate as well as just.
[00:52:39] How he was the watchdog always looking over the solo kids.
[00:52:44] Not solo kids in Luke different.
[00:52:49] To see that was no stopping you know.
[00:52:52] You're fucked up yours they were so lowly they were on the road oh.
[00:52:59] Oh shit so i'm going to give a free and a half out of five to return to the Jedi Phantom Minus attack clones great rift tracks by the way if you haven't heard them.
[00:53:08] i'm also going to rank ET in there because last I checked their part of the Senate i'm going to also rank a soka which.
[00:53:14] I do feel is a very fun adventure show like you guys summed up I didn't feel like subing really grew as much of the character in that outing but I still dug the zombie stormtroopers and.
[00:53:25] Rosario was just really philosophical it was like listening to a meditation tape at times if that makes sense it was very magical.
[00:53:33] I'm going to show some of the new canon comics and books on door or as I like to call the west wing star wars edition the muppet and Sesame Street episodes and most of the legal cartoons and games mediocre i'm going to give for the two out of five.
[00:53:48] I know they're going to review you have i'll be kind i'm going to give this to.
[00:53:54] Thank you Yoda i'm going to give that to the Ewoks and droids cartoon the new battlefront games solo for having two miscast leads.
[00:54:03] And very distractingly dark lighting some of the bad batch cartoon I dug the story but I couldn't just get past the glitchy animation it just didn't ring true to me and I am going to give a one out of five to the holiday special, which is a rift tracks classic by the way, but everyone should see it just to see Carrie Fisher sing also going to give that to the 2008 clone wars movie.
[00:54:23] That was not a good intro to that otherwise promising cartoon it just ended very anti climatically as well as the Lego Star Wars vacation special that was a waste of weird out but worse than awful hot take I was not a new Jedi order guy I just felt like these books didn't ring true as star wars i don't know if anyone's ever read them but long story.
[00:54:43] The use on all were a very derivative villains they were kind of like the Borgon Star Trek but without any kind of persona to block a dies and it's ultimately all for nothing and you just like.
[00:54:57] Actually actually calls already salvage or a lot of grief because fans didn't like that so they were in death threats the same time you know that's overkill you should know right death threats even.
[00:55:10] I was so sorry because you got a lot of shit back then i was so sad.
[00:55:14] And I couldn't get into the sky walker trilogy I love how they were great experiences for you guys personally just felt like I was watching.
[00:55:21] A very forced toy commercial with on convincing set designs and you guys mentioned the free names of the leads I always forget who they are each time i'm like what are their names again oh that guy that guy.
[00:55:34] This can be interesting seeing which era rings true to everybody did I pass by the way Yoda guard started since.
[00:55:39] Fuck off you show okay well i'm not welcome here anymore but i'll let Hans carry this now.
[00:55:44] So i'm probably not going to just do a.
[00:55:48] Plane old ranking because we kind of touch out a lot of stuff me never once number one is usually about the same thing now so yeah so i'm gonna.
[00:55:56] Touch on a few lesser known things and then some things that I just think were important for me.
[00:56:04] On the lesser known you touched on what was it the new Jedi or see i liked that weird it was different like I know that not everyone likes it but.
[00:56:14] After certain points like how long how many times we just fight the empire again or the emperor it's just.
[00:56:19] Word yeah so i enjoyed that but I know that's kind of a divisive series and i've been like the writing but I get it night chat it should have new enemies they were not all winners those books but i like the overall idea of it I guess.
[00:56:35] Mother thinks I always love the world building in the lower like that's what got me into sorrows to begin with.
[00:56:41] And one of the like I mean just the original movies.
[00:56:44] With the lived in feeling everything was just so dirty gross just.
[00:56:48] It didn't even really need a lot of explanation you just felt like you understood it.
[00:56:53] The visuals and something that added to that for me when i was younger was i don't know if anyone ever played the card game.
[00:57:01] Like the trading card game there was a trading card game.
[00:57:06] I didn't like playing the game but I loved that every single card like every background character had like a paragraph about them and i that's what I love I loved learning all this stuff.
[00:57:19] If any of us were to join the saga I guarantee you're going to get a look at pdf entry.
[00:57:25] Yeah that's what I mean like every little character that was like they just take a screenshot of this grainy vhs you know.
[00:57:32] You barely even see it but they'd have this whole colorful backstory for what this person or thing was.
[00:57:38] So i just enjoyed that some of the video games i don't know if you played empire or i still play i can't.
[00:57:45] All the RPG game where you build your armies and everything.
[00:57:49] It's not RPG really it's more.
[00:57:52] It's kind of like a really no maybe like an age empire is kind of but not quite that's kind of what i was thinking where you can select multiple characters and you have.
[00:58:01] You last saw your guys and build your army is on steam wow yeah yeah yeah yeah that's it that's it that's it.
[00:58:08] Sharon's geeking out now.
[00:58:11] I was a little bit more drawn to the reality that was great rebels was touched on rebels was a show that.
[00:58:16] I would have killed for as a kid like I wasn't super i've come a long way around on the prequels but I didn't like him at first because they were I just wanted more of that world and that's what rebels was fun fact apparently the middichlorians were actually dreamed up in 77.
[00:58:32] You know that never bothered me I know everyone I thought I thought they hate it still care the kid.
[00:58:39] I loved about Star Wars I never really cared about the Jedi I like their I just like the ships and the like the overall story like the the Jedi in lightsaber I didn't I could care less about that at the time anyways.
[00:58:53] Like my favorite original trilogy character was wedged.
[00:58:56] He had to do anything showed up the underdog yeah.
[00:59:02] So I love that show and then the Clone Wars TV show got really turned me around on prequels honestly like the the final four episodes that last arc is some of the best hours out there argue that that I think it's fantastic.
[00:59:18] And touch up pretty much everything else but you know the thoughts and feelings did Hans pass flying colors he has.
[00:59:25] I made out of understanding assignment top five under study did.
[00:59:30] Aaron and you knew to use the force and get cliff back in the temple.
[00:59:35] You're muted okay here comes.
[00:59:40] The predator minute is back.
[00:59:45] And gone some facts we were actually touching on a on mission ironically a background Jedi character use on vaquinton boss who actually inspired by Billy in the predator cycle path.
[00:59:58] Yeah I did.
[01:00:03] I used a bunch of drugs.
[01:00:06] Elon's these bag no who I went.
[01:00:09] No, skywalkeries drugs.
[01:00:11] Oh yeah.
[01:00:12] Are you sure it was an arresting no background characters.
[01:00:16] I'm good.
[01:00:17] My normal thing but yeah I was thinking.
[01:00:20] Predator right yeah involving aliens from other space and some wars.
[01:00:24] And I was thinking about the number politics.
[01:00:27] Yeah so we're uniquely.
[01:00:29] I think position to give the definitive thinking.
[01:00:33] The predator right yeah love it.
[01:00:36] All right you said volume so yeah Star Wars motion picture number one.
[01:00:41] Appearstrikes back number two.
[01:00:43] Yeah last Jedi number three everyone agrees on this there's no.
[01:00:46] Oh my god.
[01:00:47] Yeah so there's no.
[01:00:52] A lot of people put row one up here.
[01:00:54] Here's my only hot take.
[01:00:55] Yeah from this entire list the only thing that could be controversial think it's an excellent movie I don't pick it to Star Wars movie.
[01:01:01] Here's what I mean by the.
[01:01:02] Star Wars involves a little bit of sort of fantasy element a little bit of new penis and it's worse or it's best and always has those things.
[01:01:10] This is just a war movie.
[01:01:13] So you know, we're gonna go into Star Wars for the 100% agree.
[01:01:16] 100% agree.
[01:01:17] Yeah definitely agree.
[01:01:18] Okay my man.
[01:01:19] Yes it is.
[01:01:20] Definitely.
[01:01:21] Whoever said that's my new.
[01:01:22] Is there show.
[01:01:23] I love.
[01:01:25] Donnie in so it's like he's in it so it's like okay 5 out of 5 stars.
[01:01:30] The martial arts in the star wars love it.
[01:01:32] It's fun movie.
[01:01:33] Yeah.
[01:01:34] It's kind of hard for one dog.
[01:01:36] But it's kind of like a side of what?
[01:01:38] Yeah so then force awakens.
[01:01:40] So I do.
[01:01:42] I'm not gonna say that's a great story.
[01:01:44] I just want to say that's a fan of menace solo.
[01:01:47] Here it gets a little weird because you know, I really think the movies are what Star Wars is but.
[01:01:51] Like the and or is did you know how to people you can make the same argument there.
[01:01:55] Mando all the cartoons I love them all.
[01:01:58] There's definitely a high introids.
[01:01:59] Okay good point.
[01:02:01] The Jedi fall in order video game I haven't played the second one so no spoilers.
[01:02:04] It's fine.
[01:02:05] But you know,
[01:02:06] you know,
[01:02:09] I just wanted to say that it's good.
[01:02:11] I think it's good.
[01:02:12] It's good.
[01:02:13] It's good.
[01:02:14] It's good.
[01:02:15] One of these days I'm going to get you all in we're all going to play the old battle front.
[01:02:18] Somehow and so much like player.
[01:02:20] There are forces.
[01:02:21] They're doing.
[01:02:22] Delvin's going to be electrocuting us to death as the emperor while supplies around as boba fed throwing bombs at us perfectly.
[01:02:25] Yeah, I said the ewalk movies.
[01:02:27] The clone wars.
[01:02:28] What is a so good.
[01:02:29] We're attacking the clone sorry.
[01:02:30] Then the clone wars movie sorry is so good to knew I don't know where to put it.
[01:02:35] I think it's not the best.
[01:02:36] It's got the best acting by Hayden Christiansen.
[01:02:40] Yeah, holes in the hole that says a lot.
[01:02:42] Yeah.
[01:02:43] And Rick Stevenson who was punish her.
[01:02:45] Yeah.
[01:02:46] Who you know is absolutely.
[01:02:48] Then hardware wars.
[01:02:50] Then.
[01:02:51] I love it.
[01:02:52] I'm not going to cry.
[01:02:53] We've got to put space balls in here.
[01:02:56] Let's think about it.
[01:02:57] But what I'm going to do is to wrap this up.
[01:02:59] I'm going to drop down to just a bottom of the movies.
[01:03:02] Yeah, that's a great idea.
[01:03:03] That's just the good is the tea rang out for you.
[01:03:04] Yeah.
[01:03:05] Is now Robocop three.
[01:03:06] That's probably one of the worst movies ever made.
[01:03:08] I'm so proud of movies all together now.
[01:03:12] But I still have another one on the ranking yesterday.
[01:03:16] I had a bit of I just called bad news.
[01:03:18] Certainly I was out and found out that someone I knew off hand we were at the restaurant.
[01:03:23] Someone I know from there.
[01:03:24] Head past.
[01:03:25] And that was very was one of the worst feelings out.
[01:03:28] And that was the last time you knew.
[01:03:30] It died.
[01:03:31] And then underneath that was last guy walk.
[01:03:34] Yeah, yeah.
[01:03:35] Or the return of sky where the hell that J.J.
[01:03:38] That was worse than finding out their friends.
[01:03:41] Oh, good.
[01:03:42] A bunch of.
[01:03:43] Even.
[01:03:44] I was also doing a chance not a movie.
[01:03:46] Or a star or something.
[01:03:47] What the hell?
[01:03:48] So does that rank.
[01:03:50] Above or below the holiday special.
[01:03:53] Oh, I put the holiday special.
[01:03:55] I was.
[01:04:05] Then you know, you get into some tenuous lengths and.
[01:04:10] Since I didn't play the second game.
[01:04:12] And I actually am one of the few people never played.
[01:04:16] The famous role playing game.
[01:04:18] Oh, nice.
[01:04:19] The other public.
[01:04:20] I guess I'll play it.
[01:04:21] And I know it's amazing, but I didn't feel right.
[01:04:23] The one thing I'm sure of is the bottom of the list.
[01:04:27] The Return of Skywalk, whatever thing that call.
[01:04:29] I'll never see it again.
[01:04:31] That was, I've been feeling more depressed.
[01:04:34] Yeah. And I've seen like, you know,
[01:04:37] Wow.
[01:04:38] Schindler's list and rule come.
[01:04:42] Different direction.
[01:04:46] Now I'm curious to see what a Schindler's list version of Star Wars looks like.
[01:04:49] Let's not go down there.
[01:04:50] Oh, I know.
[01:04:51] I know what I was saying, but that's what row one kind of was.
[01:04:55] That's what we have.
[01:04:56] Action as a warning.
[01:04:58] Yeah.
[01:04:58] Yeah.
[01:04:59] So Liam Neeson saved the Jews, but he also doomed all the Jedi.
[01:05:03] Yeah.
[01:05:04] That's good.
[01:05:04] That's what I think it is.
[01:05:07] Assistant weird connection here.
[01:05:15] You should cop.
[01:05:16] You should copy or eight that quick.
[01:05:19] Yeah, absolutely.
[01:05:20] So master did they pass?
[01:05:23] What colors they have.
[01:05:25] All right.
[01:05:26] All right.
[01:05:27] All right.
[01:05:28] Robby on an L.
[01:05:29] We showed drink.
[01:05:32] So Jamie, you.
[01:05:33] Yes.
[01:05:34] You're on first.
[01:05:36] Oh, okay.
[01:05:38] Now, do you want the whole nine yards with little quick responses?
[01:05:43] Or do you want like just my top five?
[01:05:45] Let's go with your top five.
[01:05:46] Just so Oreo cookies.
[01:05:47] Two cents in.
[01:05:48] Okay.
[01:05:49] Well, that's good because mostly a lot.
[01:05:52] Most of these Star Wars movies aren't really like I mean,
[01:05:56] I like them and they're just good.
[01:05:58] There's mostly with me either ones I love most that are just sort of good cool love on their great.
[01:06:04] And then a few that I hate you know, ranking the top five is pretty good.
[01:06:08] I think it's really good.
[01:06:09] I think it's really good.
[01:06:10] I think it's really good.
[01:06:11] I think it's really good.
[01:06:12] I think it's really good.
[01:06:13] I think it's really good.
[01:06:14] I think it's really good.
[01:06:15] I think it's really good.
[01:06:16] I think it's a great deal.
[01:06:17] I think it's really good.
[01:06:18] I think the top five is pretty, pretty good.
[01:06:19] The, my number one favorite is these are good.
[01:06:21] These might be hot takes Obi-Wan.
[01:06:24] The series.
[01:06:25] And I'll tell you why it's because out of all the Star Wars media content.
[01:06:33] Whatever you want to call it.
[01:06:34] I got the best Star Wars feeling.
[01:06:37] We all know that feeling.
[01:06:38] I can't put words into.
[01:06:39] I'm telling off feeling.
[01:06:41] We all know that feeling and I got it the most from that series. It's just, it fulfilled a lot of
[01:06:49] the kid in me because I love it when these newer Star Wars movies and shows are showing us things
[01:06:56] that the old movies used to just talk about. I've always wanted to see a confrontation between a
[01:07:02] young Obi-Wan and a Darth Vader when they're both in their prime. I honestly logically do not understand
[01:07:09] people who hate that confrontation. I know. What is that about? It was epic. Well, let's keep it nice.
[01:07:20] Let's keep it nice. Let's see. Let's find out his turn. I thought it would be nice.
[01:07:26] Well, then we're joking him now. It was it was shit that I like to see getting his mask cut in half.
[01:07:32] I mean, that was all stuff that as a as a Star Wars fan was fun to see. Number two, Empire Strikes Back.
[01:07:41] It is it is the best movie. It's the common choice and that's because this should be the common
[01:07:46] choice. My number three favorite Star Wars thing is Mandalorian season one. I've been with this
[01:07:54] fucking property since it was born. I was around when 75 came out. I don't mean there's only like
[01:08:00] an old man here. But you know, like I mean, I know Star Wars. These are the ones that like
[01:08:06] as of right now today delight me the most. Could be because I've seen a lot of them so much
[01:08:12] that I just don't give a shit anymore. I don't know. I think that should be Star Wars's middle name.
[01:08:19] Stop giving a shit. Stop giving a shit. Yeah, they're movies. We're having fun. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway,
[01:08:25] after that, that was number three. Number four. Here's another one that's going to delight everybody.
[01:08:30] Forsewakens. And I'm going to tell you why when I saw it, when it came out and when I saw the trailers
[01:08:37] when I heard the music raise theme fucking I was like I was so excited. And that was a great feeling
[01:08:46] because it was like okay, they know what they did wrong with the pre-eagables. So now I mean,
[01:08:52] it's still logical for them not to make better Star Wars movies. And at least with that one,
[01:08:58] they kind of did. And I know it was just a retelling of episode four, but still it was a good
[01:09:03] retelling and it had feeling and it had originality. It had some bad ass shit going on in it.
[01:09:10] I liked Kylo Ren. I don't know why people say he's like oh emo and goofy. I liked him. No,
[01:09:16] he doesn't beat like some like Darth Milo's and some of the other Sith Lords, but that again he
[01:09:22] wasn't a Sith Lord. Anyway, anyway, I liked Forsewakens a lot like in the beginning when they
[01:09:29] shoot a blaster and he freezes the blaster bolt in the air. And I'm never like I was so impressed
[01:09:36] with that because I'll make wow. I've never thought of that. So I liked that a lot. And number five
[01:09:43] was Mandalorian too. Basically again, because as a Star Wars fan, there were things that I was
[01:09:53] always curious about that you know we're sort of answered like what would happen? Like if
[01:10:01] I actually wondered in the past like what would happen if there was a child do it like what would
[01:10:05] happen to a you know like what happens to a Yoda species when they you know when they grow up
[01:10:12] or whatever. And it was great seeing Yoda seeing Luke come and take Grogu and the trees. Yeah,
[01:10:21] and I thought that was just as a Star Wars fan as an as someone interested in the story.
[01:10:30] I was very satisfied by that. Now there's most of the rest I sort of can take or leave
[01:10:36] their good, their great whatever episodes one and two however especially two I have I have
[01:10:45] void. Episode one had Darth Maul and it's a fucking crime. It is a federal offense that Darth Maul
[01:10:53] was not used in that movie more. I liked Qui-Gon. He was a great character. One of the reasons why
[01:10:58] like Obi-Wan so much is because Qui-Gon popped up at the end. Now I don't know if they're going to
[01:11:03] use him again but it was it was it was a nice cherry on top. But Jamie, I couldn't agree more in
[01:11:09] I want to urge any of the listeners. If they haven't seen it, Darth Maul whips with some robot legs
[01:11:17] when he fights Obi-Wan and the animated show. I think that's one of the greatest Star Wars
[01:11:22] incredible in your levels. Absolutely. Yeah, great choreography. And it's animated.
[01:11:28] I didn't even want to mention that because I don't think it matters. It's one of the few times
[01:11:32] where I'm like I've got cried. I don't mind admitting it. It's amazing.
[01:11:37] But I agree with you on the Darth Maul thing and then that fight scene is often I'm like this
[01:11:43] is a top three scene. It's amazing. Like some of the best fights scenes are in the anime.
[01:11:48] I know. Yeah, plenty of it works. There's some moments that make me cry too. The
[01:11:56] you're my brother line. I mean how can you not? I mean anyway but you see now that was a good
[01:12:03] moment sandwiched in between three well two terrible movies and Sith which is a good movie but
[01:12:10] you know it could have been it could have it should have been the best Star Wars movie with order 66
[01:12:17] and Anakin's turn. I mean that should have been an epic masterpiece. But anyway those were my favorites
[01:12:25] and episode one into are my absolute unfavorites. I liked the romance theme in episode two Luke
[01:12:35] and Padme's theme. That was that's cool music. That's about the best thing I can say about it.
[01:12:41] I didn't like Django Fett and his fucking rubber suit. That sounded ridiculous in the rain fight
[01:12:47] in the rain fight. You can hear him like slipping on the metal with his rubber boots and I was just
[01:12:54] like I don't know it was just cringey. I just didn't I didn't work for me. Yes but yeah
[01:13:04] and it's funny how when Phantom Menace first came out just in the very beginning all my friends
[01:13:12] everybody was we were so we were kind of reluctant to say we didn't like it. You know we made the
[01:13:19] famous like that kind of noise like yeah. You made a working noise. Yeah yeah we all mean. Yeah
[01:13:27] yeah. Does she like it? I don't know. You know he's not you know making an angry working noise
[01:13:35] but as time has reflected it's not a terrible movie but as far as the Star Wars movie goes it's
[01:13:42] not. I remember reading that Lucas said he had 30s dialogue like as his main template for writing
[01:13:48] dialogue and like well that works if you're doing gone with the win. That doesn't work for today's
[01:13:54] a British a British movie critic Mark Kermode. Oh God. Oh you know you're familiar with him.
[01:14:02] Yes okay okay do you like them or are you amused by him or no? Let's just let's finish first.
[01:14:09] Oh no okay well anyway he said he said regarding episode one he said something like George Lucas must
[01:14:17] they had a really big problem with the government taxes at the time and he was out he was out to get
[01:14:25] government taxes and it's an interesting observation because like the biggest you know the return of
[01:14:31] the biggest children's fantasy epic everywhere billions of dollars action figures cans I have by
[01:14:40] the way I have a Wado diet Pepsi can so yep there you go. Marketing marketing everywhere you know
[01:14:47] what does he bring episode one with what does he bring us with first thing taxes trading dispute
[01:14:57] it was sort of anti-qualitics. Well yeah there was there was they brought I mean I guess I figured
[01:15:04] it was Princess Leia it was a lot of the same stuff but he did like 40 excess scenes of it. Oh well
[01:15:11] yeah Mark Kermode just sort of made a joke that it's when he was writing that it seemed like he had a
[01:15:15] beef with the the tax IRS something. I guess you're as good Boomer politics. Yeah once where does
[01:15:24] I always thought it was a commentary on the invasion of Iraq and he actually
[01:15:31] uh disclaim that defense he's like no I was inspired by Vietnam and like well that's the same
[01:15:36] oyster really. The Clone Wars are Vietnam. There was a theme in there on just how the Jedi were corrupted
[01:15:44] by being part of the political they're like the FBI go to all and say agenda outside thing and
[01:15:51] then there's no escaping that you know that was their downfall and they can't arrest the Emperor because
[01:15:56] he keeps killing all the time. Yeah and unfortunately it got lost amongst
[01:16:01] what everything. A number of people said but especially Jamie of you know strange things he wanted
[01:16:06] to chew on in there and merchandising opportunities. Yep. Yeah I think the big problem with the prequels
[01:16:19] there's too much there's too much going on and there's it's too short a time you know like it's
[01:16:26] yeah I always had an issue with like how they how everything was like arranged as far as like the
[01:16:33] timescales like how can Jedi be basically thought of as not real only 30 years ago. It would be like
[01:16:40] me saying oh Nirvana was never a thing. Yeah how is that possible you know. It made me wonder if
[01:16:48] you ever meant to be like a cold not everyone was privileged to see them. Yeah and it was weird.
[01:16:53] Yeah it's just there's too much going on there but like that's you know yeah it doesn't help when
[01:16:58] anything I've seen Hayden Christianson or Diego Luna and they have just filled a carrier movie
[01:17:03] but hey I like these Star Wars movies there. I asked my nephews about facts machines
[01:17:08] he's like no way but they were just here. Yeah. Yeah. What's that? Yeah pretty soon people will
[01:17:15] say Spotify was never a thing. Oh I hope not I have a lot invested in Spotify. Oh I'm just kidding.
[01:17:23] As far as like every song I've ever every song I've ever heard and liked I have programed into my
[01:17:28] Spotify. Oh wow. I'm just an earlier point apparently Nirvana didn't even know they were huge
[01:17:33] until Weird Al made fun of them. Oh come on really? Yeah for real like Kirk Bain admitted that to
[01:17:39] Weird Al. That one George Lucas found out too and he heard that by by Mr. Anakin guy he's like wow
[01:17:44] I think so is really taking off. No it was it was that disco version of the original thing.
[01:17:51] Now I'm pretty sure it was around the time he was trying to get a return on Willow or Howard the Duck.
[01:17:56] I remember when Weird Al did Amish Paradise and Kulia wanted to beat him up. Yeah.
[01:18:01] Yeah. Yeah. His agent his agent cleared it but he didn't. It's just what the hell. Oh good spoofs.
[01:18:09] I mean listen to eBay 24-7 eBay. That's a Weird Al song. Oh okay. He's making fun of the
[01:18:18] back street boys in it but the song is hysterical because he makes fun of all the Star Wars merchandise
[01:18:22] he's buying on eBay. Oh what it's cool. I'll have to look that up. Everything from a used tissue
[01:18:27] used by Dr. Dre to those chapters old to pay. I think that's the thing. Speaking of Spotify and Weird Al
[01:18:33] that you know they have that kind of Spotify wrap thing. Yes they do. They have videos and Weird Al's like
[01:18:39] so apparently you know I have like a million downloads or whatever on Spotify so I think that made me
[01:18:45] about a quarter. So basically I'm surprised when you Spotify and the entire time because they didn't
[01:18:50] vet the videos. The cake is alive. Wow. That can go one of two ways. I heard Spotify does that
[01:18:58] they're kind of guilty of that not paying the artist very much but at the same time the artists I
[01:19:03] mean they want people to hear their music and that's probably the best way right now you can hear
[01:19:08] a new artist or even an old one is Spotify so I don't know if I was a musician I don't know if I'd
[01:19:14] be that complaining about it. I think you can just put it on band camp and on everything and just
[01:19:22] which way the wind blows. Yeah I hear what you're saying and this is you know all of us are kind of
[01:19:26] in the creative space you know I mean we're talking about it. And there's a point where you're like okay
[01:19:30] I'll work for exposure but it's sometimes that exposure needs turned into money so it's like okay
[01:19:35] you're hearing about it from Spotify but then there's nowhere else to go. So that was your last chance
[01:19:39] right yeah more people found me so they can listen to on Spotify. Totally all right so Jamie I
[01:19:44] think you should are you gonna finish up your Imperial blockade or you know yeah I mean
[01:19:51] that's basically it I played a I'm not a real gamer so I mean I've played all the games pretty much
[01:19:57] the matter of mine. Yeah but myself or sure okay you ought to keep it down there. The the
[01:20:03] four-sun leash I played that I loved controlling a star destroyer with the force I loved doing
[01:20:10] that that was fun. Starkiller any any chance I had to play the Empire I did just because I'm one
[01:20:17] of those sick fucks I guess. I mean that was like shooting in a place so your ringtone just
[01:20:26] belts out order 66 and stuff. Oh absolutely one of the one of the reasons I like Rogue One is because
[01:20:31] the the new Imperial March that's in Rogue One oh my god it's almost as good as the one in Empire
[01:20:40] it's the Imperial March in Rogue One is fantastic and there's another thing a lot of people make fun
[01:20:46] at the end. Oh big deal Darth Vader killed people big deal what is a big deal because he's a person
[01:20:53] that's being shown to you as one of the most threatening deadly intimidating things that ever lived
[01:21:01] but I mean we've never seen and really do anything and it was cool to see him actually
[01:21:05] you know so like Hawkeye and Avengers he doesn't do anything. Oh oh I don't know let's
[01:21:12] I'm just making that fun point anyway it's a common meme I see anyway. We're Cliff we're Cliff anyway
[01:21:23] anyway that's all I have to say I guess yeah I mean the games are great. I don't read the books
[01:21:27] I read death troopers because I like horror stuff and that was pretty good. It wasn't a Star Wars
[01:21:33] book it was a horror book but with Star Wars characters but yeah. One fact David's
[01:21:40] of training day fame was actually attached to do a Star Wars movie which would have been a horror
[01:21:45] story set on Hoth. I spent all admitted one of our stimulus was given out the first
[01:21:54] the first place I ran was gentle giant and I'm like okay I'm gonna get some of these fucking statues
[01:22:01] I don't care. Collectibles? Yeah oh yeah so I got the mini bust of the death the zombie
[01:22:09] stormtrooper I got a mini bust of Darth Niles and a mini bust of Darth Maul and a mini bust of
[01:22:15] general grievous. General grievous yeah they're gorgeous they're amazing anyway that's my story.
[01:22:22] Yoda did Jamie pass the test? Love is summer easy as
[01:22:28] Kylo Ren is still an email though fuck that guy. Lovely conversation you have you are a Jedi master.
[01:22:36] Oh thank you. Okay well sorry still bad to you are okay all right so Mike Mike in the morning
[01:22:46] I'm gonna let you know if your back isn't out yet from seeing the X-ray. I've got I came up with
[01:22:54] five things I like about Star Wars movies is that cool yeah right because we got plenty of
[01:23:00] about things. That's a better way to look at it actually. I've got three quick side notes I
[01:23:06] I worked in a library part time and I can realize the depth and popularity of Star Wars on constantly
[01:23:12] shelving Star Wars graphic novels almost every day and they're a pain to figure out the order of
[01:23:19] you know by the titles so that's one of the hard parts of my job but anyway but I'm always
[01:23:25] shelving those. The other thing is Dana Gold's on record is saying he doesn't think Lucas
[01:23:31] had the trilogy the original trilogy in mind it was just Star Wars he added Darth Vader's
[01:23:36] father Darth Vader being Luke's father later but we talked about this before that there's a telling
[01:23:42] moment in the original Star Wars a new hope where Alex Dennis you know Obi-Wan is talking to Luke
[01:23:51] and he asks about Darth Vader or his father and there's a you can tell he doesn't want to tell
[01:23:58] him that it is his father. If you watch the original you gotta watch that scene again when they're in the cave
[01:24:06] so that's kind of cool. I think Lucas had it in mind all the time so I'm trying to say
[01:24:14] and the other side note is I love the riff tracks takes on on the movies and all especially the
[01:24:20] make fun of wookie pdf. Well they're worth checking out. Even if you like the movie it's just fun
[01:24:27] background noise they do this with Lord of the Rings too where they're not even really rifting
[01:24:31] the movie they're just talking during the movie saying oh yeah all those nickel-backed.
[01:24:37] I don't reflect fans of that. Oh yeah. Fanable. Number five Yoda going nuts at the end of
[01:24:45] revenge of the sit. It's probably the biggest crowd reaction I've ever seen in a Star Wars movie.
[01:24:50] Oh really? Yeah okay. Okay. Who's he fighting again?
[01:24:54] Darth Sidious in the Emperor. Yeah.
[01:24:57] Uh, disaster dude. Okay. Yeah. Fight it down. Fight it down.
[01:25:00] The place just going bananas when that was going on so that's number five.
[01:25:04] I'm see these are moments away. I'll get through them you see them doing.
[01:25:09] Uh, for a new hope Star Wars because yeah it's it's the start of everything.
[01:25:17] And it came out um in 77 I had one month to go on high school and it was the movie at the summer
[01:25:26] you know it was like Jaws a couple years before but I remember how co-worker saying she
[01:25:31] would see with a friend of hers and she goes a friend turner says what's going on?
[01:25:35] I don't know but I don't care.
[01:25:37] You know what you see?
[01:25:41] You don't buy it. It's extra.
[01:25:43] Yeah, you know like what's going on?
[01:25:46] I don't know but I don't care until they love it you know.
[01:25:48] No no. Uh, three is watching Anakin's turn into Darth in revenge of the sit.
[01:25:57] His dreadful arc to evil. It's fascinating to watch.
[01:26:02] It really is. And uh, yep.
[01:26:04] You know I'm gonna post it in the video.
[01:26:06] Shakespearean.
[01:26:08] No which Kevin Smith is just making fun of it.
[01:26:12] Oh my god.
[01:26:14] I thought it worked right. I liked it.
[01:26:16] I liked it when I saw it.
[01:26:17] I don't want it.
[01:26:18] The whole thing. That's my scream if I were in a theater uh play rendition of uh edipus.
[01:26:24] Anyway, go ahead.
[01:26:27] And then second is Empire Strikes Back.
[01:26:31] It just it's like Godfather Part 2 which is Godfather was you know big family moving
[01:26:38] and also the guy so big got so dark in uh stir we were okay quite down master.
[01:26:44] All right but my prime my all time favorite moment might surprise you is um return of the Jedi
[01:26:52] when Luke is confronting Vader for the last half hour or so and he's afraid of him.
[01:26:57] Won't do anything and as soon as Vader says you have a sister and Luke goes ballistic
[01:27:05] also and you realize okay he's doing this for the right reason you know he's dependent
[01:27:09] as sister and it's very you know to this day that's the most moving thing for Star Wars for me
[01:27:13] so yep years before they were ripping that off in other movies.
[01:27:17] You're dead.
[01:27:18] This is the man.
[01:27:21] But I yeah I think that works great.
[01:27:22] I as much problem just problems with Jedi but yeah that's that's the most
[01:27:29] American in Star Wars to me so.
[01:27:32] I liked the Jedi training scenes in the New Terilogy uh lay as like flashback Jedi training scenes.
[01:27:41] Those were neat I like those.
[01:27:43] I'll have to catch up to those but starting they were.
[01:27:46] Okay quite down master um so.
[01:27:49] So much now I'll agree with Rise of Rise of Skywalker but uh last Jedi and Force Awakens they
[01:27:56] were good I mean they were new they were different but you know I mean you can't have more than
[01:28:03] one master of puppets do you know what I mean?
[01:28:06] I mean I don't recommend clothing the Emperor not a good idea.
[01:28:10] There there he go that's uh all right Gil you are in the Jedi temple
[01:28:15] right uh you're in the helicopter so I was getting excited.
[01:28:18] Oh that's right that is the best one.
[01:28:22] Lovely Mike was well that's what I mean he can make a master you can make a masterpiece twice you know
[01:28:28] just look at godfather free oh see do you know I mean other one of those
[01:28:34] don't ever be another godfather
[01:28:37] well literally the mind is wealthy
[01:28:41] all right Gil you're on first all right well um I'm gonna start by saying I only saw six of
[01:28:50] these movies and I how many there have been like 11 or 12?
[01:28:54] Nine officially 11 yeah I love okay um yes and you know it's I've heard it said a few times
[01:29:03] already you know your love for Star Wars depends on you know what usually started when you were
[01:29:10] a kid you know and what you saw when you were a kid and for me I was go ahead.
[01:29:16] I want I want to jump in here for one second I'm sorry I'm very sorry.
[01:29:19] Star Wars fans that uh I want to get in um when you're done because I have a theory about Star Wars fans
[01:29:24] that uh I want to get in um when you're done because I have a theory oh wait
[01:29:29] oh I'm getting the ones who want to be Star Troopers probably are but anyway go ahead
[01:29:34] well not when you're done I want to I want to interject and put and say something about Star Wars fans
[01:29:40] it isn't insulting but yeah I was 10 when Star Wars uh what is a new hope the first one or the
[01:29:55] fourth one depending on how you look at it um came out I was 10 I saw that with either three times
[01:30:02] that is my favorite movie um and then they you know following by that the uh and I'm going to
[01:30:10] get them out of order here probably no maybe not the Empire Strikes Back was the second one in the
[01:30:15] group and I enjoyed that and uh Star Wars Return of the Jedi and I was a big enough fan at the time
[01:30:24] between 77 and 85 that I collected what I could for Star Wars at the time which usually
[01:30:31] tended to be just the comic books for Marvel I did get a few action figures but I never
[01:30:35] had been finished to get a whole lot I like the show I like the movies when I saw Fanson Menace
[01:30:42] when they how long it had been off the air by then been 10 15 years yeah it's about or more
[01:30:48] I was had high hopes that I was really gonna like this movie and it spent so much time you know
[01:30:54] Jar Jar Banks and the pod racing that's such a bad creative decision that Jar Jar Banks character yeah
[01:31:04] if you take out I noticed if you take out the Jabba's Alice Escape from Jedi and you take out
[01:31:11] the pod race both movies go so much faster yeah yeah that yeah that that disappointed me so bad
[01:31:19] that I didn't even check out the two movies that follow me because I was just so disappointed in it
[01:31:25] fair no but I'm gonna go back eventually and try to see them in fact I'm gonna try to sit this
[01:31:30] worth checking out I think for sure Disney took over and they took uh and what was the first one
[01:31:37] was that the Force Awakens I don't know all I know is the mouse it's got some power here but I think
[01:31:43] it was the four four four so we can't follow the turtle's strong characters that Disney guy are you
[01:31:48] suggesting those of us who like the Disney no I'm just kidding I'm just saying the Disney they got some
[01:31:55] weapons are we under mine control those are the three of them I don't know yeah the Force Awakens
[01:32:05] that was the first Disney one right yeah that's me in both those last instances dip in my toe
[01:32:11] on to see if I'm gonna like it now the Force Awakens I did like better than the last
[01:32:18] group of trilogies but I still didn't feel compelled to go to the theater to see Star Wars I mean
[01:32:24] I liked it enough just not enough for me to feel the drive that I need to go to the theater to see it
[01:32:30] the movies that followed and um oh and I did see Solo and I was it was all right it was okay it was a
[01:32:39] serviceable story but um I that console character the kid the the person that played him oh um he
[01:32:48] just needed more of it he needed more of an edge he's done a Skinner Max type filler for Netflix
[01:32:54] he's been an Oppenheimer and he was in this boring Apple TV show called uh
[01:33:00] Brave New World so I haven't seen anything now he's tied with mannequin Skywalker and Diego Luna
[01:33:06] for for sure as Blaine Star Wars lead but no I I really want to check out the ones I haven't seen yet
[01:33:13] but I I just when I first got into it and I just got in and got out because it just didn't keep me
[01:33:21] drawn in and I guess that's all I have to say about them Jamie what was your theory on
[01:33:29] or your blanket statement about all Star Wars fans oh
[01:33:33] say to say to your dirt this is this is this is just the hot tick I don't think there is such a thing
[01:33:39] as a Star Wars fan I think there are fans of the first movie I think the main cults the main heartbeat
[01:33:47] is in the first movie because okay most people like the second one empire most people
[01:33:55] now I thought pre-internet a lot of people like episode four Jedi but I guess not
[01:34:03] because it's getting a lot of hate everyone hates the evil so I didn't really carry their
[01:34:07] weight for them with anyway so that one gets hate and then episode one comes out that's
[01:34:12] that gets hate for good reason a lot of people hate that uh episode two comes out everyone pretty
[01:34:17] much hates that um me being one of them um this was a three-year-old comsider but I came around but
[01:34:22] at the same time again well emo Anakin just it's a lot of taking oh god you look like it a
[01:34:29] research anyway I'm starting it so show um episode three came out um great stuff the last 45
[01:34:35] minutes are impeccable but I told I told everyone in my high school I had a doctor's appointment when
[01:34:40] really my parents were sneaking me out of school oh that's awesome and yes that theater went
[01:34:47] ballistic but then everyone got all horrified in the last 20 minutes they're like wait this is PG-13
[01:34:52] oh my god someone's on fire oh you know what you know what is so funny if you go on YouTube
[01:34:58] you know all those reaction videos if you go on YouTube and you watch reaction videos to
[01:35:02] Star Wars from like like like teenagers and like like millennials and shit uh to see them all cry
[01:35:09] especially the girls the girls oh my god Anakin it's funny anyway um as if he was their decaprio
[01:35:18] or something yeah no roads don't let him drop episode three is is majestically shit on um
[01:35:26] horse awakens although good had some good responses not a lot of people like that when either
[01:35:31] absolutely last Jedi is fucking hated it's low I don't know why I love it um it's something different
[01:35:38] but still staying Star Wars uh my losing Yoda oh boy and Martin Trickier has love
[01:35:45] obviously obviously everybody hates rise a skywalker in like if my anyway that's
[01:35:51] the baby with Chris Nolan that's my point it's like if crew death became a movie I mean
[01:35:59] give it to give it life time we'll do it that's a good way of looking at it Star Wars acting is
[01:36:06] like a lifetime movie lesson oh my god who was your acting teacher Judith light oh she can I
[01:36:13] piggyback off of that because like I was I loved you it's life but hey soap opera
[01:36:19] it like you can really judge like each of the trilogies by the the love arc within it like the
[01:36:26] first one had this brilliant love arc like you know there was Luke and Leia but then by the second
[01:36:30] one we see this uh we see Leia and Han Solo and it is so genuine I think they even had an affair
[01:36:36] at the time they did yeah they did yeah and then convinced that Luke's acting teacher was Susan Lucci
[01:36:45] well then in this in the uh second trilogy or the prequels uh the the love
[01:36:51] the acting teacher was Madonna there was no chemistry there whatsoever and then by the by the
[01:36:57] by the sequels the third trilogy like I don't even know what they were kind of pushing there for a while
[01:37:03] it's like yeah yeah for a while you know I thought oh maybe Poe and Finn Christian Bell was
[01:37:08] supposed to be Luke's uh Anakin and that would have been a better pic because he would have trashed
[01:37:13] the cinematographer's lights wait who Christian Bell was supposed to be the Christian bell Anakin oh my
[01:37:19] god I would love that that would have been that would have been even spicier by now I won't say is
[01:37:25] that Nelly Portman will always be my queen anyway yeah Nelly Portman is probably acted against him
[01:37:31] like much better than I'm sure she's like hey get it together you know you're making jokes about
[01:37:37] the acting coach for the problem is that coach is George Lucas I know because he doesn't know how
[01:37:43] people he was actually so that in his autobiography he's quoted as saying I don't know how to make actors
[01:37:49] act they should know already unlike what the bug you famously goes after people with no film
[01:37:56] experience really an idea George get it out of the park I don't know what I'm doing he got one
[01:38:01] that is pretty smart and honestly because then it really helps them to come out of their show more
[01:38:06] versus being stuck in the show connecting that I was watching stuff about how EW's been doing
[01:38:14] with their talent and stuff and one thing for those that follow don't get me started
[01:38:22] one of the things that was brought up was that a lot of the talent hasn't talked to any of the
[01:38:31] legends that are in the back working and stuff and helping they have an ask for any advice and I'm like
[01:38:38] you're on the air for four years now and you haven't asked for any fucking advice like dude what
[01:38:43] the fuck yeah it can be like the same thing happened with these actors you know there's a lot of
[01:38:53] pressure on them I don't want to miss my chance or not going to see anything I'll just we'll return
