[00:00:06] It's a JackedUpReviewShow

[00:00:45] Hey guys!

[00:00:46] Hey hey!

[00:00:47] The number two Star Wars fan, James Bruno.

[00:00:51] His initials are JJ, but they're not to be mistaken for Abrams.

[00:00:55] We will let you do your ranking of the Star Wars saga.

[00:00:58] But first, we have to let the Oreo cookie himself go first.

[00:01:03] Oh, you don't want me to go last and make it scorched earth?

[00:01:06] No, no, no.

[00:01:07] That was glad you could join us, Bruno, just so you know,

[00:01:11] Master Yoda is also here.

[00:01:13] Oh, how good to see you, Master Yoda.

[00:01:18] That's great.

[00:01:20] To wrap up my theory, I can wait for you one point.

[00:01:26] Just my hot take was there is no such thing as a Star Wars fan.

[00:01:29] There's just people who like the first movie.

[00:01:32] Oh, I thought I thought you're broader take to you, which I was agreeing with.

[00:01:36] I'm getting you.

[00:01:37] There are fans of movies.

[00:01:39] They're fans of each Star Wars movie.

[00:01:40] Yes, well, yeah, that's it.

[00:01:42] Yeah, rather than Star Wars fans because you're right.

[00:01:45] It's as I described, it's more like a language, as I was saying about Row One.

[00:01:48] Like, yeah, it's translated into Star Wars.

[00:01:51] You know, there's a thing like Row One, like the ad ads being blown up.

[00:01:56] I mean, that kind of thing gets criticized on.

[00:02:00] Yeah, the Imperial Walkers.

[00:02:02] Sorry, I'm like my child.

[00:02:04] My inner child is talking there, the toys.

[00:02:07] Well, I do.

[00:02:08] I like them.

[00:02:10] They were great in Empire Strikes Back and I love them as machines as toys.

[00:02:15] And I was cool to see them destroyed in a different way.

[00:02:17] So I don't know where nostalgia comes in there, but I don't feel nostalgia.

[00:02:22] It was cool to see them get blown up.

[00:02:24] You know, I guess observation is that like I'm sitting there and I'm like,

[00:02:30] what when that scene came up?

[00:02:31] I turned to my wife and I said, wait, they could have done that all along.

[00:02:36] I know.

[00:02:38] That's how I was when I played games.

[00:02:41] Absolutely.

[00:02:42] Wait a minute.

[00:02:43] Wait, hold on.

[00:02:44] They couldn't get the T 47s out because they were too it was too cold.

[00:02:48] So they had to use the snow walkers and from the snow speeders and the snow

[00:02:52] speeders didn't have the firepower like the T 47s did.

[00:02:55] God, I need a life.

[00:02:56] I got to get out more often.

[00:02:58] So what they did was

[00:03:00] they actually used the snow speed.

[00:03:02] They thought the snow speeders lasers could bring those down.

[00:03:04] I think, yeah, I think that that's like the big like, you know, it's a

[00:03:08] mild retcon and same thing when you play the Rogue Squadron games.

[00:03:12] And it's a target.

[00:03:14] Yeah, and you're targeting the super star destroyers like shield generator,

[00:03:17] like like it's gravy and mashed potatoes.

[00:03:20] Like I'm going to get it.

[00:03:21] I'm going to get it.

[00:03:21] It's like, OK, but I thought it was impossible to get to.

[00:03:26] Kind of.

[00:03:28] Sort of.

[00:03:29] How could you hate last Jedi?

[00:03:31] I mean, the beginnings, the beginning battle with the pilot catching the remote

[00:03:36] control with the game addict, the sound of all those bombs hitting the

[00:03:41] Star Destroyer just, you know, I'm sorry.

[00:03:45] And people tell about that shit.

[00:03:47] Don't worry.

[00:03:48] Don't explain it for you.

[00:03:50] So I'm honestly sorry no one enjoys those things.

[00:03:55] I'm sorry.

[00:03:56] People do enjoy it anyway.

[00:03:59] Hey.

[00:04:01] Sorry.

[00:04:01] I don't need to come.

[00:04:02] OK, sorry, Yoda.

[00:04:04] All right, so we're going to let Oreo go and then we're going to let James

[00:04:08] conclude the ceremony will each be knighted if Yoda loves your take.

[00:04:15] Spoiler, he probably will.

[00:04:17] He doesn't like me, though.

[00:04:18] I don't know what it is.

[00:04:20] He's anal that way.

[00:04:21] Yeah.

[00:04:22] He's for you.

[00:04:24] You can rank a Star Wars comics, movies and shows that you have seen.

[00:04:30] Oh, no, I had a whole list of those two files.

[00:04:33] OK.

[00:04:34] Yeah, it's just top five either because we all did a whole list

[00:04:37] in ranking this book or be at least seven hours long.

[00:04:41] Oh, yeah.

[00:04:42] Yeah.

[00:04:43] So five for me would be Darth Bane trilogy.

[00:04:48] I love that.

[00:04:49] Oh, I love that.

[00:04:52] Drew is one of the best writers and

[00:04:57] I think Mark Thompson narrated that.

[00:04:59] So it was a great combination there.

[00:05:01] I love that show.

[00:05:02] I actually have Darth Bane's trading card too

[00:05:05] from Galactic Files.

[00:05:07] I love that.

[00:05:09] Four, I would go with the four sun leashed art book.

[00:05:14] I love that thing.

[00:05:16] It's so much fun.

[00:05:18] Because I like the behind the scenes stuff and I like different concept art

[00:05:22] that they have in each art book because I cover some of the art books on the channel.

[00:05:26] And that one you get trading cards in it.

[00:05:30] You get stuff that was cut out of the games,

[00:05:35] the game itself and I was like, man, I can't believe the cut that should help.

[00:05:39] And it would have been so much fun as a whole new level to mess with.

[00:05:42] But oh well.

[00:05:45] Three,

[00:05:46] I will go with,

[00:05:52] I guess TLJ, like last show, that was fun

[00:05:55] in theaters with my sister.

[00:05:57] I had a great time.

[00:05:57] Saw that in D-box.

[00:05:59] Right.

[00:06:00] Yeah, I love that.

[00:06:02] It was so much fun.

[00:06:03] I've seen most of them in theaters and they were just so amazing each time.

[00:06:09] And the hype behind it for each film was great

[00:06:13] because you have your trailer releases, you have your teaser posters,

[00:06:18] you have the international posters and all these different ideas.

[00:06:23] And the one guy who kept teasing Daisy Ridley on spoilers for the movie.

[00:06:28] Now that I will give you this to where the fans were like,

[00:06:32] you couldn't tell who legit wanted to see it versus who was just out to like hate

[00:06:36] on any character because they were black or female.

[00:06:39] It's like, that's not why I have an issue.

[00:06:41] I'm a pretty progressive guy.

[00:06:43] For real, like I love that interview with Daisy.

[00:06:45] Like, so Daisy, can you tell me what's going to happen in episode seven?

[00:06:48] She's like, is that looking walks away?

[00:06:51] And like, yeah, she ain't going to give up shit.

[00:06:54] Yeah.

[00:06:55] That's pretty damn funny.

[00:06:57] Unnecessary trolling.

[00:06:59] Anyway, so number three in two and one.

[00:07:03] To to I would go with Attack of the Clones.

[00:07:06] I saw that in theaters with my friend

[00:07:09] back in June 2002, I still have to stub for that.

[00:07:14] And that was so much fun to share.

[00:07:18] Now as a friend, like I'd never done that before my whole life.

[00:07:22] And we were both in high school when

[00:07:25] Attack of the Clones came out and it was just so exciting seeing that

[00:07:30] on the big screen like that was wild for Bethan, for me anyway.

[00:07:36] Love my fighting, did you?

[00:07:38] Yeah, that's it.

[00:07:39] I love it.

[00:07:39] So I was.

[00:07:41] Yes, that's a little more quiet down, Yoda.

[00:07:43] All right. Anyway.

[00:07:47] And then number one, the number one.

[00:07:50] OK, well, yeah, number one for me.

[00:07:53] Sweep the leg.

[00:07:54] Star Wars Resistance, I love that series.

[00:07:57] Everybody hates it because it's cell animation and it's aimed at kids.

[00:08:02] But at least there's no Jedi versus Sith aside from Kylo's appearance.

[00:08:08] And it's more based on the fighters that are there versus

[00:08:15] the rest of the universe as a whole.

[00:08:18] Interesting.

[00:08:19] Like everybody picks all the other shit I do for the lesser known stuff.

[00:08:25] Like the less underrated.

[00:08:27] Yeah, underrated.

[00:08:28] Less underrated shit.

[00:08:30] Can I sneak that you walk movies in there?

[00:08:33] Yeah, fuck it.

[00:08:35] I know you love your teddy bears.

[00:08:38] I just love the lives narration.

[00:08:41] Throw on the helmet and have a wolf or a brim to go.

[00:08:45] I got diabetes and I'm with you.

[00:08:47] I can't wait to say that.

[00:08:50] And this is before our target of the things

[00:08:53] this is after the thing.

[00:08:54] Yeah, he's going to be out on one of those like courses from the modern movies,

[00:08:59] carrying the shotgun from.

[00:09:01] Tim Stout.

[00:09:03] Oh, even better.

[00:09:04] Yeah, yeah.

[00:09:05] Sharing a weird photo with the entire group.

[00:09:08] Not sure what it means.

[00:09:09] It's all of us.

[00:09:10] Someone was asking about the guy who sells desktics.

[00:09:12] That's why I dress up as my god.

[00:09:15] I thought it was Vincent de Nofrio picking on the guy from Battlestar with

[00:09:19] Asian gal and Prince Leagard.

[00:09:21] Sorry, we all that's your warshock test.

[00:09:24] You see what you want to see?

[00:09:25] I

[00:09:30] can I amend my top five?

[00:09:32] I just realized Yoda going ballistic was an attack of the clones, not revenge

[00:09:37] of the Sith.

[00:09:39] This is my top five.

[00:09:40] I should have known that.

[00:09:42] Do you edit that back in?

[00:09:44] OK.

[00:09:45] That's all I had.

[00:09:47] I'll add it back.

[00:09:48] It does.

[00:09:49] Ballistic and revenge of the Sith.

[00:09:50] Well, we'll do it, but it's going to be as noticeable as a George Lucas special

[00:09:54] addition.

[00:09:55] You say he's going ballistic in revenge of the Sith when he's fighting them?

[00:09:59] Oh, speaking of which, Darth Maul was in the movie Ballistic.

[00:10:05] Hey, see what it is.

[00:10:07] Oh, yeah.

[00:10:08] That's versus server.

[00:10:10] I like the actor, the actual character.

[00:10:12] Yeah.

[00:10:14] Ray Park anyway.

[00:10:16] So

[00:10:18] I'm going to pass the Zany test

[00:10:22] like you might do, work on his noggin.

[00:10:25] I shall. OK, I guess that's approval.

[00:10:27] Oh, I'm going to get skull fucked.

[00:10:30] Yes.

[00:10:32] Work on your noggin.

[00:10:33] I don't know what's that.

[00:10:34] The showbiz.

[00:10:36] Anyway, quiet down, you know, quiet down.

[00:10:38] We're going to get canceled if you go there.

[00:10:41] OK.

[00:10:42] Yes.

[00:10:44] So coming up, James Bruno, the 70s man himself.

[00:10:50] How are you?

[00:10:51] I'm good.

[00:10:53] We're going to let you rain.

[00:10:55] I do apologize.

[00:10:57] I didn't realize the start time was no.

[00:10:58] No, no, no, it's good that we did that.

[00:11:01] It gave everyone.

[00:11:02] I was originally going to start at eight, but I just kind of allowed us

[00:11:06] an extra two hours and we'll split this up so we can.

[00:11:09] All right.

[00:11:10] So five cast or what are you from?

[00:11:13] I am.

[00:11:16] I have a page called the film Junkyard and I will be starting up.

[00:11:20] And he's kind of a big deal.

[00:11:23] It is a big deal.

[00:11:28] If you want to get retro cliff.

[00:11:30] Ask this man.

[00:11:32] I'm the 70s man.

[00:11:33] Only deals.

[00:11:35] Wait, I want to say I'm the guy who lives in the jumbling

[00:11:37] waste like next to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

[00:11:39] That's how.

[00:11:47] If you haven't been there, their take on the Obi-Wan show or they make him

[00:11:51] like just go to Oral Nox on YouTube and they make him in a kind of like the weird

[00:11:55] like uncle that always has to borrow money.

[00:11:58] The homeless man.

[00:12:00] And so that's like he's basically babysitting her and he's like trying

[00:12:04] not to get her lost because he needs 50 bucks.

[00:12:07] Oh my God, he needs to vape after work.

[00:12:10] And he's lost like drinks a lot is awesome.

[00:12:13] And let's be that Larry's brain, I guess.

[00:12:16] Do Larry Obi-Wan Larry and it's.

[00:12:18] I'll look it up.

[00:12:19] That's great.

[00:12:20] So James, we're going to let you rank anything on Star Wars related books,

[00:12:24] movies, cartoons, shows.

[00:12:27] I'm missing number five for me was Obi-Wan.

[00:12:33] Oh, sweet because because number one, he's my he's next to Luke Skywalker.

[00:12:38] He's my favorite Jedi Knight.

[00:12:39] And this was like

[00:12:41] kind of like,

[00:12:43] you know, we got a lot of stuff filled in in between like, you know,

[00:12:49] Sith and a new hope because remember in the new hope he says, you know,

[00:12:54] last time I met you, I was but a learner now I am the master.

[00:12:57] Yeah.

[00:12:57] And, you know, you got to see why Obi-Wan was like the coolest Jedi

[00:13:04] before Luke took over.

[00:13:06] And it was great to see the character portrays this guy who's like broken.

[00:13:11] He, you know, he doesn't, you know, just he just wants to live on tattooing alone.

[00:13:15] He watches Luke from afar because he just wants Luke to be safe.

[00:13:19] And, you know, he gets the call from Bill Argonne.

[00:13:22] Our daughter has been kidnapped.

[00:13:23] You have to go find her.

[00:13:24] That's what I was doing earlier in this movie.

[00:13:27] In this mini series, he's the equalizer.

[00:13:29] Yeah.

[00:13:32] It's like he becomes like some sort of like,

[00:13:33] like, like he doesn't even use a lightsaber the first couple of episodes.

[00:13:37] He is like Kung Fu and a blaster.

[00:13:39] And I'm like, OK, come on.

[00:13:41] You know, I'm like thinking, OK, come on.

[00:13:42] But you're thinking yourself, wait a minute.

[00:13:44] This guy must like this guy's

[00:13:47] we're seeing a side of him we never saw before.

[00:13:50] And for him, you know, for now we get the connection.

[00:13:53] When she goes, Ben Kenobi, where is it?

[00:13:55] You know, that's where, you know, that's what was so great.

[00:13:58] And to see

[00:13:59] you and McGregor hating Christuson go one more time.

[00:14:03] You know, you know, the great thing is like, you know,

[00:14:06] he throws you McGregor around the first time around.

[00:14:08] He's like, you know, I'm going to make you burn.

[00:14:09] And then like you McGregor's going the next time to me.

[00:14:12] He's like, oh, yeah, watch this shit.

[00:14:13] You're up for it.

[00:14:14] You're up for it.

[00:14:16] I'm going to throw a whole fucking bunch of boulders at your ass.

[00:14:18] Now I want to see Clint Eastwood style preview for this recut.

[00:14:22] They must be the wrong man.

[00:14:25] He only shoots once.

[00:14:27] And the ending, the ending was just a big, you know, like it was just like the big

[00:14:31] thing where like, you know,

[00:14:33] you know, Qui-Gon, Jen appears that I don't know where he's, you know, I called you.

[00:14:37] We're just I just wasn't ready to appear yet, you know?

[00:14:40] And that's the great thing about it was like this like thing where he's like

[00:14:44] and they says, come on, we got a lot, we got a lot more to travel.

[00:14:46] And then that's when you start to realize Obi-Wan hasn't finished his

[00:14:49] screening yet for me.

[00:14:51] Oh, that's true.

[00:14:52] Yeah. For me, that was my fit.

[00:14:54] That was a better moment than when Luke came in Mandalorian season two.

[00:14:59] Yeah, yeah.

[00:15:00] Obi-Wan is one of my it's probably my favorite show.

[00:15:05] It is my favorite stars.

[00:15:06] Oh, sorry.

[00:15:13] That series sucks.

[00:15:18] All right.

[00:15:18] You really learned to open up.

[00:15:20] Tell us how you really feel.

[00:15:22] If you really want to feel we can do a lot of special matches next week on next week

[00:15:29] on Jerry Springer, I'll wait.

[00:15:31] He's dead.

[00:15:31] Well, see, there's an example.

[00:15:32] I mean, a Star Wars fan.

[00:15:33] I mean, it's all good.

[00:15:35] So James, we're going to finish your record.

[00:15:38] Number four would be

[00:15:42] trying to think I'm going to go back.

[00:15:44] The Gettysharnovsky, The Clone Wars.

[00:15:47] Yes.

[00:15:48] It's better as a movie.

[00:15:50] Yeah, I think.

[00:15:53] I think that was really good to watch.

[00:15:56] It's set up a lot for Revenge of the Sith

[00:16:00] before when they did The Clone Wars, the series, and they did that last season

[00:16:04] with everything.

[00:16:06] You know, it was it was great to see that because it was just something

[00:16:11] we wanted to know the feeling points between everything.

[00:16:14] And, you know, when they when they took it, when they took it

[00:16:18] a step further with The Clone Wars, the animated series that was on.

[00:16:23] What was it? Family?

[00:16:25] Hard to network.

[00:16:26] It was it was on a cartoon network.

[00:16:28] It was on three different things.

[00:16:31] Yeah, I can't say that work.

[00:16:33] And then they went to Disney and when Disney took it over, it was kind of like,

[00:16:37] OK, now we're going to see the real

[00:16:40] thing about what happened and introduced a lot of great characters such as

[00:16:44] Hando Akuta, our favorite Ricardo Montabon Ripoff.

[00:16:49] Yes, it's a total fantasy island.

[00:16:52] It gives me the witch quarantine letter.

[00:16:55] Greetings, my friends.

[00:16:57] Yeah.

[00:16:59] So is that

[00:17:02] number three for me would be.

[00:17:05] I'm going to say.

[00:17:07] Revenge of the Sith.

[00:17:09] Oh, cool.

[00:17:11] Because it was instead of where Jedi was a happy ending,

[00:17:16] this was a dark ending and it was laying the ground would lay the groundwork for

[00:17:21] Episode four, which when I was a kid was just known as Star Wars.

[00:17:27] And then they put episode we put a new hope on the top, you know?

[00:17:31] So that's me was, you know, that that's a dark, dark movie watch to because

[00:17:36] you watch they did update.

[00:17:38] And the three things about it is when they kill all the Jedi.

[00:17:41] I think some strange way,

[00:17:43] I think Lucas was like kind of like going back to the Godfather where it's a total

[00:17:50] Godfather at it.

[00:17:52] It was kills all the kills the heads of the five, four of the five families.

[00:17:56] And you're just sitting there thinking so.

[00:17:58] Yeah, he probably called Copeland was like, listen, I got this idea.

[00:18:01] Revenge, don't assume me.

[00:18:04] Don't assume me.

[00:18:05] I have this idea.

[00:18:07] And you know, Copeland's probably on yeah, OK, whatever, just do it.

[00:18:10] Um, I was waiting for the director's

[00:18:13] where they had a tauntaun in the guy's bag.

[00:18:15] Yeah.

[00:18:21] Hey, turn about a slow pan in.

[00:18:23] Yeah, climb into your bag now.

[00:18:26] Sit up, like just like the mayonnaise and clear jelly in those weird.

[00:18:31] And I'll tell you something.

[00:18:32] We're making down to there.

[00:18:34] We need some gore.

[00:18:36] And for a Palpatine is not a man who takes

[00:18:39] it takes decisions like this lately.

[00:18:41] You show here for me later.

[00:18:44] The fan cut for revenge is something.

[00:18:48] Yeah, fan edit.

[00:18:49] There's four hours to take out all the whining.

[00:18:52] No, it's it has in stuff from the Clone Wars last season.

[00:18:57] Clone Wars. It has in Clone Wars 2003.

[00:19:02] Yeah.

[00:19:03] Wow.

[00:19:04] It's a stuff that's like, you know, kind of fills it out more.

[00:19:08] No, it's long.

[00:19:10] I can't remember if I told anyone this.

[00:19:11] I think I told just this.

[00:19:13] I had a prick who I used to play action figures with next door and he would spoil.

[00:19:17] I played pricks. OK.

[00:19:19] You're funny.

[00:19:21] It's a weird phrasing I have to.

[00:19:22] I am.

[00:19:23] I've got it.

[00:19:25] I used to play with two.

[00:19:25] Rephrase your show.

[00:19:27] OK, so.

[00:19:29] I was hanging out with this one neighborhood pal.

[00:19:32] And it's funny is he he was he'd be cool one minute and then do see the next.

[00:19:37] And he had a habit of spoiling every other blockbuster movie for me.

[00:19:41] And I'm like, even if it's bad,

[00:19:43] yeah, just very inconsiderate.

[00:19:44] If he hated it, he thought, no, you shall not see it.

[00:19:47] So he spoiled everything.

[00:19:48] Twitter, articles, erratic,

[00:19:51] every other blockbuster.

[00:19:52] And he's just like, oh, and they all die.

[00:19:54] I'm like, you know, I got my revenge, so to speak, by spoiling the ending

[00:20:00] of Revenge of the Sith Forum because he was a mega Star Wars fan.

[00:20:03] Because I had gotten the Lego video game and the revenge of the Sith video game

[00:20:06] from a friend that video game is so cool.

[00:20:10] They came out before the movie came out.

[00:20:12] So ending of Revenge of the Sith,

[00:20:14] well, so you know that one guy, he becomes Darth Vader and the other guy's

[00:20:17] the emperor, no shit.

[00:20:19] No shit.

[00:20:21] All the Jedi really?

[00:20:23] Christ, I didn't know that.

[00:20:25] Everybody dies.

[00:20:27] No, why?

[00:20:28] Why?

[00:20:29] I couldn't see the writing on the wall.

[00:20:32] Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, asshole.

[00:20:34] I saw Phantom Medicine.

[00:20:35] I was the guy yelling in the theater.

[00:20:37] That's the emperor.

[00:20:38] That's the emperor.

[00:20:41] That's sheep. Everyone knows sheep.

[00:20:45] I love how that was the last thing George called on to.

[00:20:48] Yeah, you'll never notice that it's the same actor credited for two different

[00:20:52] characters. Oh, oh, speaking of that,

[00:20:56] and you remember National Anthem's Christmas Vacation?

[00:20:59] Yes. Yeah.

[00:21:00] OK, you remember Vacation, right?

[00:21:02] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:21:04] The tent salesman in the first one is Clark's boss in Christmas Vacation.

[00:21:09] Oh, I didn't know that.

[00:21:12] Oh, holy shit.

[00:21:13] He just grew his hair out.

[00:21:15] That's canonically.

[00:21:16] Yeah.

[00:21:19] Wasn't that wasn't that a Murray brother?

[00:21:21] Right.

[00:21:22] The Murray.

[00:21:22] Yes. Oh my God.

[00:21:25] Right.

[00:21:26] Cabin boy.

[00:21:27] Fun little background thing for those watching it on repeat.

[00:21:31] And he started the movie with Kevin Bacon.

[00:21:33] Oh, and Indan was born in the 13th.

[00:21:37] He's not family guy, but Cabin Boy actually.

[00:21:41] Oh, I love that.

[00:21:43] Oh, no, my favorite part is him and Caddy

[00:21:47] Shackling, Swissie and all right, Johnson blew a blood vessel while playing

[00:21:50] Trump this year so the judge smell scholarship is up for grabs.

[00:21:57] I don't know.

[00:21:58] But me for me it was his if you're on your honor, your honor, to be the end.

[00:22:03] Oh my God.

[00:22:05] That's you have to you have to know a little bit about the golf terminology so

[00:22:11] like that to really get the joke.

[00:22:13] But once I got you, oh, God, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:22:17] That is brilliant.

[00:22:19] You know, the jokes this is something I meant to bring up earlier and this

[00:22:22] is not my original take.

[00:22:26] Oh, what's your original take?

[00:22:27] Well, I'm hopping someone else's take.

[00:22:30] Then the best thing about the sequel movies or whatever you want to call them,

[00:22:34] you know, one through three, they're not that great, but they are.

[00:22:39] They have the best memes like yeah, you don't get in the best.

[00:22:44] I mean, all the great memes.

[00:22:45] Yeah, you know what I mean?

[00:22:47] There are so many amazing ones and you just I mean, if you don't know

[00:22:50] the sand reference, that is so part of the sort of cultural lexicon of saying like,

[00:22:56] I hate sand.

[00:22:57] If you don't you haven't seen that, you're never going to get it.

[00:22:59] It's almost important.

[00:23:00] It's like made in force to be with you or any of those weird things.

[00:23:03] Like one of my favorite ones is, you know, I saw a picture of a you know,

[00:23:08] you see Obi-Wan, he's like, I saw a hologram of Anakin killing Yingling.

[00:23:12] It's just.

[00:23:13] Yeah.

[00:23:14] I'm referring to that.

[00:23:15] No.

[00:23:16] Oh my God.

[00:23:19] My favorite is the shuttle where he seems like, look at the box and look at all

[00:23:24] the folks I can't.

[00:23:26] I've seen that one.

[00:23:28] It's funny you guys brought up a caddy shack because they are totally using

[00:23:31] the force in that movie.

[00:23:33] No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:23:36] Be the ball, Danny.

[00:23:37] Be the ball.

[00:23:37] Be the ball.

[00:23:38] Right.

[00:23:43] The ancient, the ancient Baoslow, but the ancient philosopher Baosho said

[00:23:47] a flute with our holes is not a flute.

[00:23:50] And yet a donor with our holes is a Danish today.

[00:23:56] Bonesho.

[00:23:59] There's also a Simpsons where Homer's walking out of empire and he goes,

[00:24:04] who believed that Darth was Luke's father and that everybody's in line going,

[00:24:08] oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh my God.

[00:24:12] That's in one of the episodes.

[00:24:13] I remember that.

[00:24:14] I remember the going to a convention.

[00:24:17] I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:24:19] Use the part.

[00:24:20] The whole list and I think he's voicing.

[00:24:23] Yeah. Oh my God.

[00:24:24] That's great.

[00:24:25] To number two to me is.

[00:24:28] Nurse.

[00:24:29] I'm sorry, James, you hope.

[00:24:32] Well, no, let me let me let me rephrase that.

[00:24:34] I got this has been flipping flopping flip flopping all day in my head.

[00:24:37] Like my dick it is.

[00:24:39] OK, quite down.

[00:24:40] Thanks too much.

[00:24:42] And party strikes back is number two on my list.

[00:24:46] I know a lot of people put his number one.

[00:24:47] I have it as number two because to me it's the first real sequel that kind of topped

[00:24:55] the original because back in those days, the only sequel I think everybody knew

[00:25:00] that was better than the original.

[00:25:02] This is before like Rathakon and Superman 2 was Godfather, the Godfather 2.

[00:25:08] You know, Billy Jack.

[00:25:09] Remember, we had a show about Billy Jack.

[00:25:11] I loved it so much.

[00:25:13] You know, and you know, they had like, you know, the shaft movies.

[00:25:17] So the only good movie that topped the original back then was The Godfather,

[00:25:21] Godfather Part Two and Party Strikes Back.

[00:25:25] Everybody was expecting what we saw in A New Hope.

[00:25:30] But I remember being five years old,

[00:25:32] being in the movie theater, watching that, going like, OK,

[00:25:35] Luke gets gets mauled by the Wampa.

[00:25:38] They all get separated.

[00:25:40] Luke goes to Dagobah, hand in layer, falling in love while being chased by the

[00:25:44] empire. There's a there's this bunch of bounty hunters after one of them is

[00:25:49] a really good, good cool looking character called Boba.

[00:25:52] This is where it becomes Sergio Leone.

[00:25:54] Yeah, yeah.

[00:25:55] And then no name, but he doesn't talk.

[00:25:59] You know, and everybody's going, well, didn't we?

[00:26:01] Some people were going, didn't we see him in a holiday special shop?

[00:26:05] Shut up.

[00:26:08] You didn't see that?

[00:26:09] We never know what he's looking for.

[00:26:12] We meet the diminutive Jedi master who is like,

[00:26:18] he's like, who's like, you know, raises an X-wing out of them, out of the muck in

[00:26:23] the mud, you know, and makes, yeah, it makes more sense about the force.

[00:26:28] And then at the end, like they said in clerks, it's just a series of down

[00:26:32] endings. What happens in the air?

[00:26:34] It's frozen in carbonite.

[00:26:35] Luke gets his hand chopped off and on top of that, his father starts Vader.

[00:26:41] Now, in the movie theater,

[00:26:44] he has a little bit of a sister, which is kind of like.

[00:26:48] Oh, he did not.

[00:26:50] He says, he says years.

[00:26:53] Here's the story to a lot of people.

[00:26:57] We were in the movie theater.

[00:26:59] We were in the Route 4 Cineplex, Odeon in New Jersey and Paramus, New Jersey.

[00:27:03] Right. And my parents took me to go see

[00:27:05] Empire Strikes Back and we're watching it.

[00:27:07] It gets to the point and they're like, you know, Obi-Wan never told you.

[00:27:11] Don't retold you what happened to your father.

[00:27:13] He told me enough.

[00:27:14] He told me you killed him.

[00:27:16] It's just no Luke.

[00:27:17] I am your father.

[00:27:19] Everybody in unison went, holy shit.

[00:27:26] Like a no Brooks movie, you know,

[00:27:28] I were I'm like, I'm like, what?

[00:27:33] He's like, no.

[00:27:35] My mother and my father are going, Jerry, you OK?

[00:27:39] And I'm like,

[00:27:42] you know, they're like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like,

[00:27:44] it's like, you know, the end, you know, they're on the rebel transport.

[00:27:47] They fly away, you know, we're going to see, you know,

[00:27:49] we're going to get hot in the bounty hunter only.

[00:27:51] And I'm just sitting there going,

[00:27:53] I'm just sitting back in my head.

[00:27:55] Darth Vader's Luke's father.

[00:27:58] Oh, what?

[00:28:00] The whole summer, the whole summer after even the second grade, I'm there.

[00:28:04] I'm like, first second, I'm like, what?

[00:28:06] Are you he know he can't know?

[00:28:09] No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:28:13] Forget Riso Skywalker that route, your childhood.

[00:28:16] Oh, don't get me started.

[00:28:19] I love.

[00:28:21] You have to go there, Jay.

[00:28:24] Right.

[00:28:25] I was so I just got a big is a big fun popcorn movie.

[00:28:29] But for me, it just didn't cut the mustard.

[00:28:32] I'm sorry. I mean, I love seeing, you know, I love seeing it.

[00:28:35] I love seeing Luke come back as a force ghost.

[00:28:39] But I wanted to see more and I think the Colin, the Colin Trivostript,

[00:28:44] what had been better?

[00:28:46] Yeah, you know, before you got one, James,

[00:28:49] we all agreed that that movie is a war crime and not a movie at all.

[00:28:53] Yeah.

[00:28:54] No, you know, you know, J.J.

[00:28:57] I'm just sitting there going, how can we make this interesting?

[00:29:00] Let's see.

[00:29:01] Any day got a copy of Dark Empire?

[00:29:03] I could borrow.

[00:29:06] Anybody? Yeah, I got one.

[00:29:07] OK, Palpatine's not dead.

[00:29:09] He's a clone.

[00:29:11] Oh, that'll work.

[00:29:12] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:29:13] OK, give it to Disney and they'll say yes.

[00:29:15] OK, fine.

[00:29:16] You know, you know, because they want to get the taste.

[00:29:19] They want to get all the

[00:29:22] and I hate to use the term fanboys.

[00:29:23] A lot of the fanboys were upset with Last Jedi, which I wasn't upset with.

[00:29:27] I liked it. I thought it was a good movie.

[00:29:29] But, you know, there were those who were bitching about it.

[00:29:34] You know, there are those who are bitching about it and going, you know, oh,

[00:29:37] you know, what?

[00:29:39] What? Why do you have to kill off Luke?

[00:29:41] You know, why do you have to kill him off?

[00:29:43] And I'm like, dude, this is not about them.

[00:29:49] I saw one that was like just the finalist is written and directed by Reddit.

[00:29:53] Yeah.

[00:29:57] It's the toxic hide my narrative and tell the fanboys of ruins and franchise.

[00:30:02] Yes, exactly.

[00:30:04] That's what was the one that's on the film?

[00:30:08] Yeah, that goes back to your theory on it's about the movies.

[00:30:11] Yeah, I'm starting to come around to that.

[00:30:13] Well, what's the one by the crater community that's on Adult Swim?

[00:30:17] Rick and Morty, her big example.

[00:30:19] I'm an arm and yeah, fun, fun cartoon, but ruined by the fanboys who were just

[00:30:25] wanting to be as shitty as Rick.

[00:30:27] Yeah, I was going to say there was another problem there.

[00:30:31] Yeah, yeah, he's played by an asshole.

[00:30:34] That's true.

[00:30:35] The thing that bothered me the most about Star Wars 9 was

[00:30:39] everybody comes to rescue at the end.

[00:30:41] We just saw that in endgame six months earlier.

[00:30:44] Oh, yeah.

[00:30:46] Yeah.

[00:30:47] Oh, here they all are to come to save the day.

[00:30:50] We had just seen that, you know, it's like these writers all working together.

[00:30:55] So, you know, yeah, just wait till they do Star Trek versus Star Wars.

[00:31:00] I have a video of like crowd reaction to the end of endgame and the crowd

[00:31:04] reactions to the end of Last Jedi and the crowd reaction to endgame is

[00:31:08] like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:31:10] The crowd reaction to Last Jedi is like, you just hear somebody go,

[00:31:14] OK, the one is up and showed up.

[00:31:16] Now what?

[00:31:17] I'm like, you know, oh, wait, there's wedge.

[00:31:21] Oh, two seconds.

[00:31:22] Shit. You know.

[00:31:25] You know, but in all honesty, you know, I'll say this, you know, I mean,

[00:31:29] it's a big dumb popcorn movie, but it just didn't capture the spirit of Star

[00:31:33] Wars movie Star Wars for me in the end.

[00:31:35] You know, and I think the one thing that got me was at the end when she

[00:31:38] goes, I'm right, right Skywalker.

[00:31:41] I'm like, and that one crowd reaction.

[00:31:44] I fucking hate Star Wars.

[00:31:47] Yeah.

[00:31:49] Where the fuck?

[00:31:51] Why are you here?

[00:31:53] I like because we're doing it.

[00:31:56] You know, maybe 20 years from now, they'll be all rehabilitated and the movies

[00:32:01] will look better and then, you know, we'll look at them longer and be like,

[00:32:04] oh yeah, OK, you know, whatever.

[00:32:06] But they're keeping Ray.

[00:32:08] I mean, there are going to be future movies with that character.

[00:32:11] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:32:12] Hopefully they can slow down the pace of releases.

[00:32:15] Yeah, I have killed it too for me.

[00:32:18] This is the longest break we've gotten in a while.

[00:32:20] Are they going to explain more about that?

[00:32:22] She's a fucking idiot.

[00:32:24] No, that's all I was saying.

[00:32:25] She's much, I mean, really.

[00:32:28] I knew it. I knew it.

[00:32:29] I'm going to fucking screw you.

[00:32:31] There was only one macho man here.

[00:32:34] It's not her.

[00:32:35] It is me and my movies.

[00:32:39] She had a cup of coffee with a force here.

[00:32:42] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:32:45] Cream rises to the.

[00:32:46] Yeah.

[00:32:48] Yeah.

[00:32:49] I'm doing these old sort of podcasts now.

[00:32:51] Oh, God, it reminds me of Hogan's little shit.

[00:32:55] Yeah, Hogan's sometimes.

[00:32:57] Oh yeah, no, no.

[00:32:58] This is my interview back then in the twilight of my career, even my kids turned

[00:33:03] me on and I'm like, what did you just say?

[00:33:08] Yeah, I'll just say this right now.

[00:33:10] Like.

[00:33:11] Like, like I don't watch professional wrestling as much as I used to because

[00:33:16] I kind of got bored of it, but I'll say this.

[00:33:18] You guys know the story behind CM Punk how many times he's been like

[00:33:23] the past like two or three years, how he was like brought into AEW.

[00:33:28] Then he gets out of AEW, then he goes back to AEW, then he goes out.

[00:33:33] It's fired from AEW.

[00:33:35] You have seen for a while.

[00:33:36] Yeah, maybe you have seen and now he's back in the WW.

[00:33:39] You're just thinking yourself, this guy is a fucking cancer.

[00:33:43] I'm sorry.

[00:33:44] Right? He's like a player that no team wants.

[00:33:47] Yeah, he's like every.

[00:33:49] He goes against everything he's ever stood for by coming back to WWE.

[00:33:55] His character, like the best I can describe him for anyone who doesn't

[00:33:59] watch wrestling is he's kind of almost like a dead fool character breaking

[00:34:02] the four.

[00:34:03] Yeah.

[00:34:04] Yeah.

[00:34:05] He won't stick to the script.

[00:34:07] He's sitting down alone in a ring.

[00:34:09] That's the kind of shot that most people think of, if they know CM Punk is he's

[00:34:12] sitting there and explaining the workings.

[00:34:14] And so it really blurs line between what's a shoot and what's real.

[00:34:18] Meaning, yeah.

[00:34:20] And I knew why you got fired.

[00:34:22] When you become so dramatic in your real life that a storyline that Vince

[00:34:26] Wright seems less drama filled than.

[00:34:28] Yeah.

[00:34:30] That says a lie.

[00:34:31] You're going to ruin this.

[00:34:33] Yeah.

[00:34:35] But if you're listening, CM, I love you.

[00:34:37] Please don't choke me out.

[00:34:39] Don't choke us out.

[00:34:40] Don't choke us out.

[00:34:41] Yeah, protect you.

[00:34:43] Show.

[00:34:44] Well, he got fired this time.

[00:34:47] Come back from the dead and do something.

[00:34:50] Yeah.

[00:34:51] That's the way.

[00:34:53] Oh my god.

[00:34:54] I'm gonna beat.

[00:34:55] The reason for that fire from eight of this time was

[00:34:59] his backstage altercation with Jungle Boy, because Jungle Boy wanted to use real glass.

[00:35:04] Yeah, my god.

[00:35:06] And real fucking glass and Punk said no.

[00:35:10] Tony Shibani said no.

[00:35:11] And somebody else said no.

[00:35:13] And Jungle wouldn't like that.

[00:35:16] And that's why punk choked him in front of Tony Khan.

[00:35:21] That's what I'm gonna buy.

[00:35:22] Yeah, I mean, that's extreme as fuck.

[00:35:25] But damn, like if somebody says no.

[00:35:29] And one of them is a vet.

[00:35:31] No, you don't do it.

[00:35:33] Yeah, definitely.

[00:35:34] Just think about that if he used real glass and he hits his back and that glass

[00:35:39] goes in your back, you're with the medics for at least two hours getting your

[00:35:44] back hit of glass.

[00:35:46] Yeah, death matches.

[00:35:48] Yeah, for real.

[00:35:49] Death matches were like that.

[00:35:50] And, you know, but the thing, the thing, the thing I like, the thing

[00:35:53] I don't like is Jack Brooks going, hey, Phil, look.

[00:35:56] Real real glass.

[00:35:58] And I was like, yeah, oh yeah.

[00:36:00] You know, him fucking window out the window in Star Wars.

[00:36:04] Yeah, have you heard that?

[00:36:08] Sam Jackson's like I didn't see a body.

[00:36:10] So I survived Rassan Park and say no Star Wars.

[00:36:14] Well, I think the force to cushion my fall.

[00:36:17] I'm good. Yeah.

[00:36:17] One of my favorite fan theories is that he was Snoke.

[00:36:20] Obviously before the movies kind of finished.

[00:36:23] It's like who's Snoke and it's like, oh, it's nice window.

[00:36:25] You know, like Force Lightning famously sort of leeches your skin.

[00:36:29] You got a huge cut from.

[00:36:30] Oh my God.

[00:36:32] And he is so sort of disillusioned with the whole thing that he has become this outside.

[00:36:39] Oh my God.

[00:36:40] Lots of better.

[00:36:41] I'll do you one better.

[00:36:46] I'm going to connect Star Wars and the Shaft series.

[00:36:49] Oh my God.

[00:36:50] Talking about Star Wars.

[00:36:52] Yeah.

[00:36:52] Show my mouth.

[00:36:54] Show my mouth.

[00:36:57] Make the window goes out the window.

[00:36:59] He follows the way he sees the body.

[00:37:01] He stands up, puts on a pair of sunglasses.

[00:37:04] He walks off with the Shafts.

[00:37:06] He's playing the background.

[00:37:08] Yeah.

[00:37:09] Well, I'm going to hear him.

[00:37:12] There is good fan art of him coming back.

[00:37:15] I like that art.

[00:37:16] Yeah, I see.

[00:37:17] Number one for me is.

[00:37:20] Is it number one?

[00:37:21] Yeah, there's a number.

[00:37:22] It's not empire like everybody else.

[00:37:24] Motion picture.

[00:37:25] Actually, we picked Star Wars motion picture.

[00:37:27] Yes.

[00:37:28] Yeah.

[00:37:28] Oh, okay.

[00:37:30] Every episode.

[00:37:31] For someone.

[00:37:32] For my old heads.

[00:37:33] No, it was just called Star Wars.

[00:37:35] It was not.

[00:37:35] Yeah.

[00:37:36] Episode four new Star Wars.

[00:37:38] Here's old.

[00:37:39] I'm in Ohio with my parents.

[00:37:42] It's a rainy day.

[00:37:43] My father says, hey, let's go see this movie called Star Wars to my sister

[00:37:46] and her husband, Jack and me and my mom.

[00:37:48] And we all get in the car and we'd be going for me.

[00:37:50] It was like, you know, it was like,

[00:37:57] it's like for my mom, it was like seeing the Wizard of Oz when I went from black

[00:38:01] and white to color.

[00:38:02] Oh, wow.

[00:38:03] That it was like watching, you know, Flash Gordon, the old, you know,

[00:38:07] Flash Gordon series all over again.

[00:38:10] And also the movie just imagine when he was growing up.

[00:38:16] Oh, yeah.

[00:38:17] My dad, my dad had kind of late in life.

[00:38:19] So and then for me, it was like the world, you know,

[00:38:25] like my sister a hard days night with the Beatles being on screen and yellow

[00:38:29] summer, you know, that for me, it was this this this like explosion

[00:38:33] where my world went from like, you know, little safe area where I was where

[00:38:37] I was going, you know, you know, I was remembering all the names of like

[00:38:40] the characters and stuff.

[00:38:42] And, you know, my parents got me the toys and everything like that.

[00:38:44] And for me, I was like into it.

[00:38:46] And that's why I still love Star Wars to this day.

[00:38:49] I'm not going to say I don't love Star Wars.

[00:38:52] I can say I don't like certain aspects of Star Wars, you know,

[00:38:56] like the holiday special, the sequel trilogy, you know, you know, droids.

[00:39:03] Oh, but Harvey Corman James.

[00:39:04] Oh, yeah.

[00:39:05] Is it directly Harvey Corman and B.R.

[00:39:09] They're in a Star Wars movie.

[00:39:10] B.R.

[00:39:11] They're making herself out to be like a bartender.

[00:39:14] You know, the third.

[00:39:15] She's actually part of the Canada.

[00:39:16] I'm part of like a book.

[00:39:19] Oh, God, I'm like his father jerking into what's

[00:39:22] yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:39:25] And then you know, I'm sorry.

[00:39:27] Oh my god, you ultimate pleasure and they're like leave alone while he's

[00:39:32] finishing up and it's like, oh, I don't want to see it work.

[00:39:34] I don't want to see it work.

[00:39:35] You jerk at himself.

[00:39:36] I don't know.

[00:39:37] He was walking.

[00:39:40] There's that point.

[00:39:41] Oh, I don't want to see a little bit.

[00:39:43] Oh, wait, I just saw it.

[00:39:44] Oh, Christ, I'm scarred for life.

[00:39:46] Most of you wondering, yes,

[00:39:48] Chewbacca's father jerks off in the show.

[00:39:50] We don't see it, but we know what's going on.

[00:39:52] That's right.

[00:39:53] And now on to sports.

[00:39:56] I remember the baller of underneath on the team.

[00:40:00] And then you quick sentence.

[00:40:01] Chewbacca's wife goes, translation,

[00:40:05] why is this all sticky around here?

[00:40:09] Oh, and that fur.

[00:40:10] But you think about all the things that Lucas is famous for sort of,

[00:40:14] you know, he wants to burn every single tape.

[00:40:18] Two things that I've noticed furries,

[00:40:21] you know, the whole idea of people in China.

[00:40:23] Oh my God.

[00:40:24] We anticipated that and also

[00:40:26] over the score is like 90 percent.

[00:40:29] If you go into any of these film sort of sites, it's all about like family stuff

[00:40:34] for some weird, perverted reasons.

[00:40:35] Well, so is the passion.

[00:40:36] There is a son in the kid.

[00:40:39] Romantic family brother and sister.

[00:40:41] You're actually.

[00:40:43] Hey, hey, hey, remember?

[00:40:45] Remember the series Taboo?

[00:40:46] Remember that? I remember that coming out and my buddy's going, hey,

[00:40:49] you've got to watch this movie. It's really good.

[00:40:52] Wait a minute. What's it about?

[00:40:54] Let's just say if you can't keep it in the fans,

[00:40:57] keep it in the family. I'm like,

[00:41:02] Tom Hardy pulled it off the air because nobody was watching.

[00:41:05] Still better than Ryne Skywampers.

[00:41:09] Wait, what's that about Taboo?

[00:41:11] Would you say about Taboo?

[00:41:13] Taboo was done by Tom Hardy and he pulled it off the effects because

[00:41:18] according to him, nobody was watching it.

[00:41:20] So he pulled it off the air.

[00:41:21] I'm like, I'm still fogged in watching it.

[00:41:23] I want to know what happens.

[00:41:25] I like that series.

[00:41:26] It was really good.

[00:41:27] We've got to do my first on these network is sometimes

[00:41:31] the first three are great.

[00:41:33] And then it just got to be like Taboo 25 and you're like, oh, God.

[00:41:36] Can you just please stop now, please stop now?

[00:41:41] But I'm surprised they never crossed over Star Wars with Emmanuel.

[00:41:45] Oh, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:41:46] Oh, wait, no, they did Emmanuel in space.

[00:41:48] Oh, well, they did do that.

[00:41:50] They actually just came out with a new one, believe it or not.

[00:41:52] So yeah.

[00:41:54] Oh, James, your two year old memory, one of your first.

[00:41:58] Two years old and you're seeing

[00:42:00] the star people with British accents and then forgetting them and then

[00:42:05] exposition dump and what I got older.

[00:42:08] Well, James, you just reminded me when I was two,

[00:42:12] the first I think the first thing I remember is John Glennon space.

[00:42:17] So yeah, oh my God.

[00:42:20] That's one of my first.

[00:42:21] So it's kind of cool that yours is Star Wars and mine was, you know,

[00:42:25] mine was actually working here.

[00:42:27] The actual rockets take off.

[00:42:30] Yeah. Well, my dad.

[00:42:31] That was a big deal.

[00:42:34] My dad used to sit me down when I was younger and we'd watch like he'd be like,

[00:42:38] all right, come on, let's watch.

[00:42:39] You know, I'm like, you know, two, three years old and we'd be watching.

[00:42:42] He introduced me like the old flash

[00:42:45] word in Congress, the universe serials with the rocket that would just

[00:42:48] yeah, that would just go up like, you know, with the.

[00:42:53] Yeah.

[00:42:54] And my dad would be like, you know that, you know, that guy is there.

[00:42:58] That's Buster Crab.

[00:42:59] He pleases.

[00:43:00] He's Tarzan.

[00:43:03] Buster Crab.

[00:43:04] Yeah, Buster Crab.

[00:43:04] He played Jungle Jim.

[00:43:05] He was also Buck Rogers.

[00:43:07] I'm like, oh, OK.

[00:43:09] And then like a couple of years later, I'm watching Buck Rogers.

[00:43:12] I see I hear the one there's one episode where like they have to have pilots

[00:43:17] fill in for them all being sick and he's like,

[00:43:20] Brigadier General Brigadier General Gordon.

[00:43:24] And I'm like, holy fuck, that's Buster Crab.

[00:43:28] And my dad was like, yeah, you know,

[00:43:30] so my dad was like pretty cool with that, you know.

[00:43:32] And he'd tell me like, oh yeah, Charles Middleton,

[00:43:35] who played Ming the Merciless and Flash Gordon, he was in

[00:43:38] Duck Soup if you watch it carefully.

[00:43:40] Did he know some of the famous Disney voice actors in their rare live

[00:43:45] action roles by chance?

[00:43:47] Yeah, I know that which McCall, the guy who played Winnie the Pooh.

[00:43:51] He was no, no, no, not sounds like he does.

[00:43:56] No, no, it was Sterling.

[00:43:59] Different franchise.

[00:44:00] Sterling Holloway was actually in Meet John Dell.

[00:44:05] He plays the guy who was the

[00:44:08] he's the guy who helps Gary Cooper and the other guy like they're there.

[00:44:12] He's the guy who was in the donut shop.

[00:44:14] And he did a lot of like, you know,

[00:44:16] Preston Sturges stuff when he was younger.

[00:44:19] He was also in a movie called Tony the Pony where this kid wishes to be a horse.

[00:44:24] And it's one of the most fucked up things to watch.

[00:44:27] It's Sterling.

[00:44:28] Yeah, Sterling Holloway did a lot.

[00:44:30] Sterling Holloway did Peter and the Wolf.

[00:44:32] He was the narrator.

[00:44:34] I was right.

[00:44:34] Yeah, yeah.

[00:44:37] You know, but I remember like

[00:44:41] like, I just remember like

[00:44:43] being that and just being like totally mesmerized by it because here I was.

[00:44:47] I was two years old and I was, you know, I was like, you know, still,

[00:44:50] you know, processing stuff.

[00:44:52] But to see this big explosion of music and see like, you know,

[00:44:55] spaceships flying over you and, you know,

[00:44:58] there's an aerial dog fight and there are these guys called the Jedi.

[00:45:01] And, you know, there's swords made out of lasers.

[00:45:04] Like, you know, and then alien does a different approach being alien.

[00:45:08] It's quiet.

[00:45:09] You know, alien.

[00:45:10] The alien I saw when I was like six or seven years old.

[00:45:13] My parents let me watch it because they were like, they were pretty cool.

[00:45:16] They were like, Jay, you know, it's just a guy in a suit.

[00:45:19] I don't understand.

[00:45:20] And they were, you know, feel under.

[00:45:24] Alien.

[00:45:25] I wanted the alien action figure.

[00:45:28] It looked so cool.

[00:45:29] Oh, yeah.

[00:45:30] Love that. And they pulled it.

[00:45:31] They pulled it because kids are going to have nightmares and shit.

[00:45:33] Yeah.

[00:45:34] And you know, I used to.

[00:45:36] They made a crazy figure too.

[00:45:38] That one in the Godzilla figure.

[00:45:40] They were both really big.

[00:45:41] I used to play with those.

[00:45:42] Oh, sweet.

[00:45:44] You remember the alien figure?

[00:45:46] Yeah.

[00:45:47] Oh, yeah.

[00:45:48] And it was made by Kenner, I think.

[00:45:51] Yes, it was.

[00:45:51] Oh, there you go.

[00:45:52] Cool coincidence.

[00:45:55] And the great thing about it was they had the alien figure.

[00:45:58] I think they made the egg.

[00:46:01] Did they?

[00:46:02] I think I don't open up or yeah, they did.

[00:46:05] I remember that.

[00:46:06] Like because Kenner didn't have a lot of articulation in their toys.

[00:46:09] But I can imagine.

[00:46:10] No, kind of opened up a little bit.

[00:46:12] Well, yeah, that alien figure was popular because it was so big and so detailed.

[00:46:17] Do they have a scarier on somebody's chest?

[00:46:21] No.

[00:46:23] Sorry.

[00:46:25] Oh, that would be it would be like, you know, like when the speeder bike blew up,

[00:46:27] you could like think.

[00:46:29] It's so awesome.

[00:46:31] I just wanted to do like like a version of operation, but you just have to get

[00:46:35] the chest burst or out before you swallow.

[00:46:38] Jesus, that would be fucking traumatic.

[00:46:41] Yeah.

[00:46:41] Instead of getting like a little sock, you would get like full on like shock

[00:46:45] right in the chest like you do.

[00:46:47] You get an acid burn.

[00:46:48] Oh, we've already found a picture of it right here.

[00:46:50] Good for the podcast.

[00:46:52] Thanks for that.

[00:46:52] Yeah, still for sale.

[00:46:55] How much can you get it for on the eBay?

[00:46:57] Oh, it's a pretty penny, my friend.

[00:46:59] Yeah, not that 59 it looks like.

[00:47:01] Yeah.

[00:47:03] In box, I think it was more out of the box.

[00:47:05] It's less.

[00:47:08] Yeah, man.

[00:47:09] Reach the predator thing up there speaking of, I guess not aliens, but

[00:47:13] don't watch your head.

[00:47:14] So we're just so we do the predator minute, right?

[00:47:17] You know, yeah, minute by minute and there it is.

[00:47:21] Kind of see it.

[00:47:23] Shameless plugger.

[00:47:24] Yeah, I was looking around for the different toys we have because we have

[00:47:28] an aliens Lego figure.

[00:47:30] Are you kidding me?

[00:47:33] Yeah, I mean, it's custom made and then we got that drawing.

[00:47:36] We got home.

[00:47:41] Poster there for nice.

[00:47:43] You're an ugly.

[00:47:44] Like a sucker.

[00:47:46] I want that predator poster.

[00:47:49] I've got a person boots that looks like Mark Twain.

[00:47:53] I think we.

[00:47:58] I got

[00:47:59] if you look at Asheville, there's some movie

[00:48:01] store that's new there, arcade.

[00:48:03] I have the meat two versions of the Migo

[00:48:09] Shazam Captain Marvel that were done in re-release by by

[00:48:14] Marty Abrams because he's he's started Migo up again.

[00:48:19] And I wanted to get Captain Marvel, so I have the one with the

[00:48:24] design cape and I think I have the other one is like the old yellow cape with

[00:48:28] the yellow boots and those were like the first toys my grandfather got me

[00:48:33] when I was a kid because she she loved comic books and she knew I love

[00:48:36] Batman and Robin and all that stuff.

[00:48:38] I had like a whole bunch of stuff.

[00:48:39] Unfortunately, we got squirrels in our attic one year and there's like

[00:48:43] squirrel poop on them and I can't really get them.

[00:48:45] So I'm going to start collecting them again when I get the chance, you know,

[00:48:49] you're talking Shazam Captain Marvel, right?

[00:48:51] Yeah, yeah, the greatest one.

[00:48:54] Shazam, yeah, it would take me a couple hours to go around and show all of my collectibles.

[00:49:00] Be careful, my friend, if you get into action figures, it's an addiction.

[00:49:04] Oh, yeah.

[00:49:06] Like right there.

[00:49:09] I got a whole bunch of DC Universe characters up in my bedroom.

[00:49:13] Yeah, I was I was the star.

[00:49:15] I was an army builder and you're in the army now.

[00:49:19] You know what?

[00:49:20] You're in the army now sport.

[00:49:22] Yeah, there you go.

[00:49:24] But those figures were just so expensive and I came to the Black Series figures.

[00:49:29] What a waste. I'm sorry.

[00:49:31] They're great. But I mean, they're so some of the figures are like

[00:49:35] 60, 70, 80 dollars.

[00:49:37] Yeah, because they're the more popular ones that are exclusive.

[00:49:40] Yeah, yeah, the the the Sith stormtroopers, the red ones,

[00:49:47] like 60 bucks a piece, but I just had to have like four or five of them.

[00:49:52] Oh, God.

[00:49:53] Just a question for you, red wire or blue wire?

[00:49:55] Which do you cut?

[00:49:59] Cut the blue wire.

[00:50:00] Perfect. Cut the blue wire.

[00:50:02] Perfect.

[00:50:05] Cut the green wire.

[00:50:06] A trickier is played on you.

[00:50:10] All right, so James is now a member of the Jedi Council.

[00:50:18] I am now a member of the

[00:50:20] I do master Yoda.

[00:50:22] I'm not gonna do what to do.

[00:50:24] Shall I wait?

[00:50:26] I want to see this for a long time.

[00:50:29] It's a trap.

[00:50:31] It is.

[00:50:33] Trap it is.

[00:50:35] I had my fire.

[00:50:36] I'm not dangerous.

[00:50:38] My freshman year of high school,

[00:50:40] I had my friend cracking up because we were first in high school.

[00:50:44] We're going down to the assembly and says, OK, children, we're all going down.

[00:50:47] OK, guys, we're all going down the assembly.

[00:50:49] And it's the first day of school.

[00:50:50] I just got a trap.

[00:50:54] So the right.

[00:50:56] I was.

[00:50:58] It's like the best act or ever.

[00:51:00] How the hell can you just come up with a random character like that?

[00:51:05] I'm like, I don't know.

[00:51:06] I said it, you know, it's just only performed by a Jim Henson guy.

[00:51:10] You see, you know, the roof.

[00:51:14] Yeah, the serious coconut that used to be on mad TV also does a lot.

[00:51:18] Oh my God.

[00:51:19] It has a series that's Admiral Ackbar's.

[00:51:21] It's just a whole bunch of things.

[00:51:23] My favorite one is Admiral Ackbar snack bar.

[00:51:26] So the different things I think I did Vegas.

[00:51:29] See that there was definitely a lot of bars acting Academy with the chicken spoof on it.

[00:51:36] I think you're starting a restaurant and he's wearing a layer of G string and it's

[00:51:39] just weird and I recommend just go to YouTube, the stereo.

[00:51:44] And then I just do my snack bar.

[00:51:47] It's amazing.

[00:51:48] I still think he's one at a time.

[00:51:51] OK, James, I still think Adam Lack was one of the coolest characters in return

[00:51:54] of the Jedi because I remember seeing him and I was thinking to myself, OK,

[00:51:58] what does this guy do?

[00:51:59] And like you read up later, he's like this, like he worked.

[00:52:02] He was like an imperial.

[00:52:03] He was like a strategist for the empire.

[00:52:06] And then, you know, no, he was a slave, I think he was a slave.

[00:52:09] I think so. Yeah.

[00:52:10] It turned on the Mali.

[00:52:12] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:52:13] Basically builds the Mont Calamari shipyards, which are like these giant fucking

[00:52:18] big they're like they don't look like a squid.

[00:52:22] Yeah, fish.

[00:52:24] Well, he looks like a crawdad with like bad eyes.

[00:52:27] And then the other one

[00:52:29] then you find that they are like there's like two species on Mount Kamala.

[00:52:33] There's the Mount Kamala.

[00:52:34] There's the the the barsture, the aqua, I think they're called the aqua.

[00:52:39] And then there's the squid face, the squid face ones.

[00:52:43] I think that isn't that the city that

[00:52:47] which is the guy saves in the comics as well as the cartoon?

[00:52:52] OK.

[00:52:53] Yeah.

[00:52:54] But I remember like because Mando gets mad at them.

[00:52:57] It's like it's because it decorate his ship.

[00:53:00] Oh, that's right.

[00:53:02] Yeah, he's like, what did you do?

[00:53:05] This is wrong. This is wrong.

[00:53:08] Yeah.

[00:53:09] Thing I love the most like you'll see that she's a shiver.

[00:53:13] Power from the from the air.

[00:53:15] And we will then we will find like

[00:53:18] they was watching General Patton.

[00:53:20] Yeah.

[00:53:21] Yeah, he's like the Nisi Watch South Park

[00:53:24] and like the movie and then they do the part where they say operation to the dockage

[00:53:29] and I'm like, they're making fun of that.

[00:53:32] Oh, that's right.

[00:53:34] The way they're echoing the voice.

[00:53:36] Yeah. And didn't they even use some walkers?

[00:53:38] Everything. Yeah.

[00:53:40] Oh, yeah.

[00:53:42] So Tommy Boy.

[00:53:45] Yeah.

[00:53:46] Oh, yeah.

[00:53:48] A bunch of us were loving Return of the Jedi.

[00:53:52] Admiral Ackbar off screen as much as I love.

[00:53:55] Sorry, last Jedi.

[00:53:57] As much as that.

[00:53:59] As much as I love that movie, killing Admiral Ackbar off screen pains me.

[00:54:03] I understand why you did it.

[00:54:05] Brian Johnson did it because he was basically saying like out with the old in with the new.

[00:54:09] That doesn't matter.

[00:54:11] Forget about install, which is a good lesson.

[00:54:12] But it's fine.

[00:54:14] I don't like.

[00:54:17] And I think the guy died in real life, the guy who was doing the voice and everything.

[00:54:21] Really?

[00:54:22] No, most of them are dead now.

[00:54:25] Yeah. Well, Harrison Ford's career is still alive.

[00:54:27] Oh, hey, he's actually really hysterical on shrinking.

[00:54:33] My God.

[00:54:36] But we've already had that chat.

[00:54:37] So, Tom, we're going to let you rank whatever you want in the Star Wars saga because

[00:54:43] I'm going to go a little multimedia on this because

[00:54:45] the Star Wars goes beyond the film.

[00:54:47] Rule breaking, he is.

[00:54:49] Love it.

[00:54:50] I will break the rules because I'm that kind of guy.

[00:54:53] I may break the rules one more time and throw in an honorable mention.

[00:54:59] My honorable mention is Hardware Wars.

[00:55:01] Yes, we love it.

[00:55:04] Hardware.

[00:55:04] It was in my ranking.

[00:55:06] It was in our ranking.

[00:55:07] It came up around 10.

[00:55:09] Yeah.

[00:55:10] But for me, Hardware Wars was a perfect homage to Star Wars.

[00:55:17] And it predates

[00:55:19] Spaceballs, which we compare and get

[00:55:23] to Spaceball had the bigger budget.

[00:55:26] But I want to say it had more stones to have the bigger.

[00:55:31] Yeah, I would agree, Tom.

[00:55:32] I think the Hardware Wars came in a place of love.

[00:55:35] I think Mel Brooks and I love them, you know, one of my favorite movies.

[00:55:39] But it was pretty a lot of different.

[00:55:42] Yeah, just sci-fi in general.

[00:55:44] It didn't it was just like, you know, like,

[00:55:47] you know, the concept of the moistened eyes and which is it's like, yeah.

[00:55:50] I love that.

[00:55:51] Yes, I'm so.

[00:55:53] To.

[00:55:54] Yeah, I'm actually playing bro.

[00:55:57] The kids love the kids are going to love this one.

[00:55:59] Spaceballs, the Blu-ray. Oh, wait.

[00:56:02] Yeah.

[00:56:04] There's also the animated series too.

[00:56:06] Guys, I just want you to know, Tom and everybody else.

[00:56:09] I'm friends with Princess Annie Droid on Facebook.

[00:56:12] No.

[00:56:14] Yes.

[00:56:16] And.

[00:56:17] And let me just say she hasn't aged one day.

[00:56:22] Because I'm friends with someone who's a friend of hers.

[00:56:25] And I was like, oh, wait a minute.

[00:56:27] I know her and I was like, oh, shit.

[00:56:29] When he friend her friend to her.

[00:56:31] And she's like a really nice person in real life.

[00:56:34] And I remember seeing that and I was thinking she's hotter than I remember

[00:56:37] seeing Hardware Wars, Tom, and I remember seeing her pop up and I'm like,

[00:56:40] dude, she's hotter than Carrie Fisher.

[00:56:45] And I'm like, I'm like, you know, my little.

[00:56:47] Take it.

[00:56:48] Yeah, I mean, to Paul on Star Trek.

[00:56:51] Oh, anyway, go ahead.

[00:56:55] But yeah, go ahead.

[00:56:57] Go ahead, Tom, I'm sorry.

[00:56:58] Annie Droid coming in at number five.

[00:57:02] Revenge of the Sith.

[00:57:04] Hmm.

[00:57:05] OK, getting a lot of love today.

[00:57:07] So.

[00:57:09] I love the entire prequels.

[00:57:11] I love it.

[00:57:13] The.

[00:57:14] And there are a couple of reasons why.

[00:57:15] First of all, out of the three prequels, that one was a Easter's link,

[00:57:20] Sheth, but I will also say that it was this movie that got me back into

[00:57:27] Star Wars just long enough to realize that J.J. Abrams fucked it over.

[00:57:32] Thank you.

[00:57:36] Now, here's the thing.

[00:57:38] I was sitting there watching

[00:57:41] A Force Awakens and saying, you know, I'm seeing some similarities here.

[00:57:45] And all of a sudden it's like, motherfucker, he did it again.

[00:57:49] Remember Star Trek into darkness?

[00:57:51] Yeah.

[00:57:52] What movie does that remind you of?

[00:57:54] Star Trek?

[00:57:55] Con.

[00:57:56] Yeah.

[00:57:57] So when I saw the Force Awakens, it's like J.J. Abrams, and he's doing

[00:58:01] something is like, oh my God, this is a new hope all over again.

[00:58:05] Let's play after that.

[00:58:06] Boy, I do my hands up and discussed because, you know what?

[00:58:10] I don't care anymore.

[00:58:12] I'm done. I'm out.

[00:58:13] You guys can go have fun with your Star Wars stuff and I'll be over here

[00:58:17] enjoying the real Star Wars.

[00:58:19] With your yeah, the disinvolved midi-chlorians.

[00:58:22] Oh, God.

[00:58:23] Play with your strengths.

[00:58:26] Yeah, but out of the prequel that

[00:58:29] three year renders was the very best and on its own.

[00:58:36] It is it is far better than people want to give a credit for.

[00:58:40] I I thoroughly enjoy it.

[00:58:43] Outside of the the episodes four or five or six, I made sure to get episode

[00:58:49] three because that creates a nice little bookmark,

[00:58:53] bookends to the entire saga of Darth Vader.

[00:58:57] Yeah.

[00:58:59] Yep.

[00:58:59] Yeah. And I'll say this too about it.

[00:59:03] What you see in between, you know, what you've seen in between three and four,

[00:59:07] you know, with, you know, andor and rogue one and Obi-Wan and, you know,

[00:59:14] rebel rebels, you know, becoming that becoming more popular now.

[00:59:22] You know, we're getting more fleshed out.

[00:59:25] And I think the thing with with Revenge of the Sith was

[00:59:28] when it came out, everybody was like seeing

[00:59:32] if you had the storybook of Return of the Jedi when you were a kid,

[00:59:35] there's a part where Ben Kenobi was talking about how they, you know,

[00:59:39] him and Anakin had a fight by a volcano or something like that.

[00:59:44] And they had to like, they had to go back and be like, OK,

[00:59:50] he mentions this in the book.

[00:59:52] You know, he mentions in the storybook, we got to show them what happened.

[00:59:56] And that's the thing, the epic of Darth Vader becoming Darth Vader at the end

[01:00:01] when that when that, you know, he's put into the suit.

[01:00:05] And then he's seen a mass.

[01:00:07] The Emperor is almost like a male version of a Lady Macbeth in a way.

[01:00:10] Yeah, very much.

[01:00:12] Yeah. And by the way, Jeff, does your is the force strong with your cats?

[01:00:18] They seem to be approving about a conversation.

[01:00:21] Yeah, Kirby is he's doing all right.

[01:00:23] Even better named Jack Kirby.

[01:00:26] Yeah, he was I guess I didn't name him that because when I got him,

[01:00:29] I had a cat named Stanley.

[01:00:32] And so I named him Kirby so they could be Stanley and wonderful.

[01:00:36] And then five years later,

[01:00:38] they separated and Jack Kirby was pissed off.

[01:00:41] I don't know.

[01:00:44] But no, good, good point.

[01:00:46] Yeah, just Lucas is taking all his deleted scenes and actually using the ones

[01:00:50] that were that very good point change.

[01:00:53] So we had, you know, that's the thing about it.

[01:00:56] And Tom, you hit the nail on the head.

[01:00:58] It was the saga of Darth Vader.

[01:01:01] What we wanted to see.

[01:01:03] What we'd wanted to see, you know,

[01:01:06] why did this guy become a paralyzed, you know,

[01:01:09] near invincible warrior with, you know, morbid ambition and just, you know,

[01:01:16] frightening voice and old Weezy.

[01:01:21] OK.

[01:01:23] All right.

[01:01:24] What is the next step?

[01:01:25] It's the story of C3P1R2D2.

[01:01:29] That's who it starts and ends with.

[01:01:31] Yeah, I guess.

[01:01:32] Yeah.

[01:01:33] They I guess at one point because JJ is such a fucking idiot,

[01:01:36] couldn't handle the simplest task.

[01:01:37] It was supposed to end the last one he's supposed to end on the first line.

[01:01:42] Oh, and it was actually that was, you know, when you see it at the end,

[01:01:46] it does at least end with the droids.

[01:01:48] And I can't remember what the first line is supposed to be, but that was

[01:01:51] supposed to be it.

[01:01:52] It's like look over or look, you know, something or two.

[01:01:54] I thought he was going to be like mission impossible free where he

[01:01:58] introduces the rabbit's foot, which has nothing to do with the

[01:02:01] Zun consequential to the rest of the plot.

[01:02:03] OK, let me get six more of my friends to come in here and say,

[01:02:06] dumbass.

[01:02:08] Yeah.

[01:02:11] Something like they're the only constant characters that are in all nine movies.

[01:02:15] What's the truth?

[01:02:16] They do see it and they already kind of the audience stand.

[01:02:18] R2 is like Kenny from South Park.

[01:02:21] You can blow him up, but he'll just come back and three PO's.

[01:02:25] I call him the Herald Lloyd.

[01:02:27] He's just going around.

[01:02:28] Yeah.

[01:02:29] He's Dr. Smith and then Android.

[01:02:31] Yeah. Oh, there you go.

[01:02:33] Very much so.

[01:02:34] He's somehow he should not be alive.

[01:02:40] But yeah, just like Jonathan Harris, he is a Brit.

[01:02:43] And yeah, he's going around.

[01:02:44] I do like John Harris from British.

[01:02:47] I thought he was.

[01:02:48] No, he's from Brooklyn.

[01:02:50] What?

[01:02:51] He's from Brooklyn.

[01:02:52] He learned how to refine his accent.

[01:02:54] Tony Blessings.

[01:02:56] I don't know.

[01:02:56] Harris. Yeah.

[01:02:57] Yeah.

[01:02:58] Tony.

[01:02:59] Well, I was comparing him to Anthony and Daniels.

[01:03:01] It was a play.

[01:03:02] Oh, yeah, yeah.

[01:03:05] Tony.

[01:03:06] Yeah, yeah, no, he I would love to see a free PO version, but done soprano style.

[01:03:10] Hey, don't worry about it.

[01:03:13] Don't worry about it.

[01:03:14] I got you.

[01:03:15] You're worrying, OK?

[01:03:17] Hey, R2.

[01:03:18] Oh, hey, R2.

[01:03:19] All the lightning folks, they didn't always brush the folks.

[01:03:22] They didn't fucking hit us.

[01:03:23] All right.

[01:03:24] It was so.

[01:03:26] Don't get it.

[01:03:27] You're going to get a skate pod.

[01:03:29] You fucking funds in the getting there.

[01:03:30] All right.

[01:03:34] Oh, my God.

[01:03:35] You go to the.

[01:03:36] The only thing.

[01:03:39] I'm a.

[01:03:40] The damage doesn't look as bad as

[01:03:42] Filicado's had your.

[01:03:43] I mean, it's a good one.

[01:03:44] Oh, yeah, a little thought of.

[01:03:46] Get the fuck out of it.

[01:03:49] All right.

[01:03:50] A few hours.

[01:03:50] All right, Tom.

[01:03:52] I'm before the Tony's hijacks are meeting.

[01:03:58] Number four.

[01:04:00] The Star Wars comic

[01:04:02] comic books from Marvel from the 70s and 80s.

[01:04:05] Yes.

[01:04:07] Once did more to flesh out the Star Wars universe.

[01:04:12] Mm hmm.

[01:04:12] No, it's more than any anybody else could.

[01:04:15] Yeah.

[01:04:16] People who worked on it, the writers, they

[01:04:18] ought to be the artist.

[01:04:20] The whole they.

[01:04:23] If they had a direct line to George Lucas or they

[01:04:26] had his blessing to create some of the

[01:04:30] just some of the best.

[01:04:33] I bet the tension too.

[01:04:36] I mean, they had some they had some weird

[01:04:39] characters like the giant like a giant green rabbit, which yeah, I could take her.

[01:04:44] I could take her leave, but there was one before I stopped selecting it.

[01:04:49] There was one issue where.

[01:04:52] Luke was falling in love with somebody and they were

[01:04:55] rubble pilots and they were in tie fighters so they could disguise themselves.

[01:05:00] And for some reason, Luke looks really to see the who was in what what a tie fighter.

[01:05:10] The standards went out or whatever.

[01:05:12] So he had to use a force and he used the force to kill

[01:05:16] the woman that he was falling in love with.

[01:05:21] Well, now you're making me wish they would

[01:05:24] re-score this with Jefferson Starships white rabbit.

[01:05:30] But that was such a shock and I didn't get to see much more after that,

[01:05:35] but after that there was an entire issue where Luke was having to deal with the

[01:05:40] aftermath of that. And when I was like 11 or 12, that was heavy shit.

[01:05:45] That was yeah.

[01:05:47] Yeah, because we because we were told because I I grew up with Luke

[01:05:52] Skywalker being the guy who always does the right thing, the ultimate hero.

[01:05:58] And then Jesus of the dead.

[01:06:01] Yeah.

[01:06:02] But then he does something like this and only because he saw that she was evil.

[01:06:08] She was actually the spy for the empire, it turns out.

[01:06:11] But he didn't know that until much later.

[01:06:14] Yeah, Marajay playing for a fool.

[01:06:18] Yeah, but the series, the comic series fantastic.

[01:06:24] You can't recommend it enough for any Star Wars man.

[01:06:27] Yeah, you can thank Archie Goodwin for those for the first couple of issues that they did.

[01:06:32] That shadows of the empire.

[01:06:34] All the yeah, yes.

[01:06:36] He was the guy who did the started the Marvel series out in 77 and 78.

[01:06:42] Yeah. And when they started doing that,

[01:06:46] you know, they started to bring in more more characters.

[01:06:49] Like you said, there were some characters I loved like,

[01:06:52] you know, there was a there was Rick, Rick Oley, who was the captain obvious.

[01:06:58] Yeah. Yeah.

[01:06:59] Who was who was like the stand in for Han Solo and his

[01:07:03] Oh, wow.

[01:07:04] Purple, his purple skinned,

[01:07:07] you know, female pilot Danny, who has had the hots for Luke.

[01:07:12] And Dan.

[01:07:13] Yeah, there was there was a lot of characters in those books, Tom, that should have

[01:07:18] brought to should have been able if they were to do it, you know, if they were going

[01:07:22] to do another series instead.

[01:07:24] They brought the clone Emperor plot, but they didn't execute it.

[01:07:28] Yeah.

[01:07:29] The thing was with those Marvel issues, I have like a whole bunch of them that I

[01:07:33] say to there's one issue that was really good was where they were trying

[01:07:36] to find wedge, you remember that wedge?

[01:07:39] Instead of fleeing instead of going off and being with the rebel fleet,

[01:07:44] they wrote it were wedge and West Jansen were shot were shot down.

[01:07:51] And West got down slaughtered by a Wampa in what happened was yeah.

[01:07:56] Yeah, they did this whole thing.

[01:07:58] And I'm like, I'm like, OK, I'm trying to get the gist of this.

[01:08:01] You know, I have it.

[01:08:01] It's a picture of wedge with like Wampa close

[01:08:04] come after him. He has a blaster and he's like scared shitless in

[01:08:07] Star Wars tells or no, this was an actual comic book like eighty three,

[01:08:13] eighty four because I remember that it is more common to be a little cute.

[01:08:19] Did Luke use force hill on him?

[01:08:21] No, what funny thing is they find a an abandoned freighter

[01:08:27] in Princess Land some other guy and they find this abandoned freighter

[01:08:32] and they're looking through the logbook but red shit, which had recorded

[01:08:37] and they think wedge is dead.

[01:08:38] He's actually outside waiting for them and stuff like that.

[01:08:41] It's a really good it's a really good good, you know,

[01:08:45] thing to watch to read, you know, because I was like engrossed in those.

[01:08:48] Like, you know, first time they kind of shift off the character,

[01:08:51] the main characters for wedge, you know,

[01:08:54] lovely.

[01:08:56] I will mention Jefferson Starship earlier, Cam,

[01:08:59] because they were in the holiday special.

[01:09:01] Yeah, right.

[01:09:03] Right.

[01:09:03] And that single was there actually got premiered.

[01:09:07] But yeah, that was part of why they changed their name.

[01:09:09] I think recently found this out.

[01:09:11] We thought they changed the name to Jefferson Starship so they could be

[01:09:15] an extra special, but I guess they changed it.

[01:09:17] Yeah, they change it like seventy four, seventy five because no, seventy two,

[01:09:23] seventy three because your McCalcone and Jack Cassidy had left the band

[01:09:27] and they brought in Greg Chacan,

[01:09:30] Greg Chacallo and some other bass, but I think Pete Sears took over on bass

[01:09:36] and they said, all right, since we're going in the future, Starship is dead.

[01:09:39] Let's airplanes dead. Let's call ourselves Starship.

[01:09:43] That's going to impress them.

[01:09:44] Grace Slick.

[01:09:45] We just couldn't see our room.

[01:09:48] You hear me like Grace Slick drunk in Germany.

[01:09:50] Oh boy. Oh my God.

[01:09:53] Yeah.

[01:09:53] He's had a lot of it.

[01:09:54] Who won the war?

[01:09:56] He's got some infamous interviews.

[01:09:59] Yeah, I like the song better than the Starship song.

[01:10:04] Oh, very good.

[01:10:05] I do like that we have some older people.

[01:10:08] It does remind me of one of the cool things about Star Wars fandom and truly

[01:10:12] older series fandom.

[01:10:14] Especially is that these sort of rumors stuck around because we had no internet.

[01:10:19] Right? Right.

[01:10:20] Everyone was like, oh, this guy is this person.

[01:10:23] It's in some weird obscure text that you'd have to find and no one.

[01:10:28] OK, I believe you then.

[01:10:30] Just no material.

[01:10:32] Now we were joking earlier about like stop giving us stuff.

[01:10:35] Well, you know, everyone remembers the dark years when we just had nothing.

[01:10:39] You know, we're just going through the Timothy's on.

[01:10:41] Yeah.

[01:10:42] It almost makes you wonder what would Star Wars have been like?

[01:10:45] And let me know what you think of this, Jeff.

[01:10:48] If they had pulled a Friday the 13th where they would have just done

[01:10:52] a bunch of them and they would have exceeded Police Academy by now.

[01:10:55] What were you think they'd be now?

[01:10:57] Didn't they?

[01:10:58] I know, but let's say they did it back in the day.

[01:11:02] Let's say if that was every two years in the 80s, what would it look like?

[01:11:07] I think it's look a little something like this.

[01:11:10] Yeah, yeah, I don't know.

[01:11:12] I mean, one of the things and this is one thing that like to a certain

[01:11:16] extent, the reason why I like stuff like Mandalorian and stuff like that

[01:11:19] is that it gets away from like the Skywalker stuff.

[01:11:24] Yeah, it's like, you know, it's like no daddy issues.

[01:11:27] Yeah, it's just like the whole concept of like, oh, everything's got to be

[01:11:32] Skywalker's and then of course, Rey is a Palpatine.

[01:11:36] Oh my God, it's like this is it turns into something where it's like, oh,

[01:11:40] I guess only some people can have these powers.

[01:11:44] You know, and it's like it's just it's I don't know.

[01:11:47] It it it D.

[01:11:48] It I don't know.

[01:11:50] It I would like to think that there's the future of Star Wars is to not be

[01:11:56] constantly bringing back all the all the old characters and, you know, maybe,

[01:12:03] maybe they should have just kept cranking them out.

[01:12:05] You know, then that way we could have got in the way, you know,

[01:12:09] we could have actually gotten away from imagining if Ron Howard actually had

[01:12:13] done the prequels like originally asked.

[01:12:15] Yeah, they're being good acting.

[01:12:17] It's a bit like Bruce Wayne's parents were killed.

[01:12:20] Oh, yeah.

[01:12:22] It is every Batman movie.

[01:12:24] We know the story.

[01:12:25] It's like, yeah, Romeo and Billy.

[01:12:27] I don't need.

[01:12:28] I want to know all the side characters of the Capulets like the other brothers

[01:12:32] who instigate instead of Romeo, would you please bring me?

[01:12:36] Like, Jeff, the one thing I liked about

[01:12:40] you know, Boa Fett, the series was that and the Mandalorian is that it fleshed out

[01:12:44] a lot of people that we thought were like, you know, not good people.

[01:12:48] Like the Sand People.

[01:12:50] We found out.

[01:12:50] Oh, I don't think we.

[01:12:51] Yes, perfect.

[01:12:52] Native Tatooineers, please.

[01:12:54] Yeah, native Tatooine.

[01:12:56] Live.

[01:12:57] Yeah.

[01:12:58] Or are like the American Indians.

[01:13:00] And if you watch it, you know, there are points where, you know,

[01:13:03] the Mandalorian is using like sign language and stuff.

[01:13:06] And I'm going, oh my God, this is what

[01:13:09] we remember, you know, if you read your history, you know, we.

[01:13:13] They use sign language to communicate with us and yeah, you know,

[01:13:17] we get a little more, we get a more deal about their plight, you know,

[01:13:20] why they are the way they are, why they're insecure and attack without.

[01:13:24] Yeah.

[01:13:25] And then we see the Karat Dragon for the first time.

[01:13:28] That was very neat.

[01:13:29] And Timothy Oliphant in justified form again.

[01:13:32] I mean, come on, I'm listening to that guy read the phone book.

[01:13:37] The one part I love that the end of the end of Boba Fett, the book of Boba Fett,

[01:13:42] he's walking along the street and he grabs the orange and I'm thinking,

[01:13:46] oh, God, please don't let it be like Don Corleone and Fritos in the corner.

[01:13:50] Try to grab the phone.

[01:13:52] You were my brother.

[01:13:54] Yeah.

[01:13:55] I didn't think it was more.

[01:13:59] Yeah, I think, you know, people talk about

[01:14:02] Lonnie who at the time we're recording this.

[01:14:04] Oh really?

[01:14:05] Lonnie was just like what last week they said he was.

[01:14:07] Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:14:08] Yes, yeah, yeah.

[01:14:10] He got a career boost because I don't know when this.

[01:14:12] Thank God.

[01:14:13] A lot of people describe the new shows as him sort of smashing his toys together as

[01:14:17] a kid, you know, and oh yeah, but I'm in a problem with that.

[01:14:20] People say that is negative.

[01:14:22] I'm with you.

[01:14:23] I saw an editorial about that.

[01:14:25] He said same.

[01:14:26] Yeah.

[01:14:27] And it was like the Skywalker's.

[01:14:29] I get it.

[01:14:29] It's like I don't want to hear about the Royals anymore.

[01:14:32] I want to hear about the Peaky Blinders.

[01:14:34] Yeah, Peaky Blinders.

[01:14:35] But yeah, to your point, to your point.

[01:14:39] Yeah, I mean, I saw an editorial saying the Mandalorian

[01:14:42] writer's room needs more writers and I was like that's bullshit.

[01:14:46] Look at J. Michael Brzezinski.

[01:14:48] He wrote 90 percent of Babylon 5.

[01:14:49] Yeah, you can be a one man show.

[01:14:52] Yeah, I mean, that's the yeah,

[01:14:55] you talk about like, oh, he's just smashing the toys together.

[01:14:57] Well, yeah, he's got it.

[01:14:58] He's got to take the he's got to take things that are recognizable to us.

[01:15:03] David E. Kelly writes most of the first two seasons of every show before he leaves.

[01:15:07] Yeah, I mean, but like as a writer, more writers is always good.

[01:15:12] But yeah, but the concept was acting like it couldn't be done.

[01:15:18] I'm like, bullshit.

[01:15:19] Yeah, no, the whole concept of like, you know, smashing the toys,

[01:15:23] you have to take those things that are that are recognizable to build

[01:15:27] the foundation to do something different and new, right?

[01:15:30] So it's like I'm kind of somewhat hopeful that by, you know,

[01:15:37] like what the the acolyte is the next one that's coming.

[01:15:40] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:15:41] I mean, yeah, I mean, or yeah, yeah, man, gold's pretty cool.

[01:15:45] Yeah.

[01:15:46] So all of that stuff that comes along hopefully is separated enough.

[01:15:51] But it's like, well, we feel confident with the direction that things are

[01:15:55] going to give a chance, you know, it's

[01:15:58] and that is one of the biggest problems with the with the sequel trilogy is that

[01:16:02] there was no plan.

[01:16:04] You know, some of that stuff was some of that stuff was fine.

[01:16:09] But like they don't feel like three connected movies.

[01:16:13] They feel like three different ideas.

[01:16:16] You know, that is such a shame.

[01:16:17] What what a drop that is like the definition of dropping a ball.

[01:16:21] I mean, that was one of the most anticipated and essential

[01:16:27] like stories, like the end of a story like in in history.

[01:16:31] I'm pretty much well, yeah.

[01:16:33] And I can't believe of all the things a writer could have fucked up in the creative

[01:16:38] world, this is what they fucked up.

[01:16:40] But I'm just out of just fans being divided.

[01:16:43] Like, oh, I can't talk to you like this era.

[01:16:46] Like, well, what the hell?

[01:16:47] I'm tired of fucking hoots.

[01:16:48] You're lying so together.

[01:16:50] It's like you can do Star Wars without being the originals.

[01:16:53] And people don't want to hear that because

[01:16:56] that happens that night or something like that is so worth it.

[01:17:00] I'm looking forward to that.

[01:17:01] Look at the poster that gives me a doon aura almost like Steve.

[01:17:05] It's just the essence of sci-fi fantasy.

[01:17:08] Just have people on the planet trying to survive with one of them has magic

[01:17:13] and the other is trying to learn how to be the chosen one.

[01:17:16] That's it's a fun narrative.

[01:17:18] But I don't know.

[01:17:19] It's that's what I mean.

[01:17:20] It's the same story now, pretty much with every movie.

[01:17:23] But I mean, it depends now on how it's told.

[01:17:25] It's the same old story.

[01:17:27] But what makes it good is how they tell the same old story.

[01:17:31] Yes.

[01:17:32] Well,

[01:17:33] then

[01:17:34] getting back to getting back to Tom's thing about the Marvel comic books,

[01:17:38] Tom, like you said, it was more a fleshed out line of comics.

[01:17:43] You know, not like Dark Horse.

[01:17:45] This was this is more, you know, up to our speed.

[01:17:49] Dark.

[01:17:50] Yeah.

[01:17:50] And it was and it was it was far more creative than any any Star Wars.

[01:17:55] Kind of looks like Steve.

[01:17:57] You know, I think you're right.

[01:17:58] I think that is the era that has

[01:18:01] pretty much actually sustained like both Dark Horse.

[01:18:04] You know, Dark Horse was one thing where it was kind of like a pulp novels.

[01:18:08] And these new ones have kind of just been kind of side scrolls, side quests.

[01:18:14] Well, you know, there's the one now where we've got the yellow lightsaber,

[01:18:18] which explains a lot of things, you know.

[01:18:20] How a soak against it.

[01:18:22] Yeah, so.

[01:18:24] Nice.

[01:18:26] Well, next time you had something else you were going to pull up on there.

[01:18:30] Yep. I.

[01:18:32] Number three.

[01:18:33] Finish him.

[01:18:34] Number three.

[01:18:36] This from yourself.

[01:18:37] This is this is a big entry, but

[01:18:41] it to me it was hard to pick just one.

[01:18:45] I mean, I wonder if someone went over it, but Star Wars video games.

[01:18:50] Oh, yeah.

[01:18:51] All of them.

[01:18:53] It's pretty much all of them.

[01:18:54] They had as one of the few franchises that is not

[01:18:58] phoned it in because I mean Lucasfilm is working in the games department.

[01:19:02] And when you see how it got to spandex, yeah.

[01:19:05] Yeah, I'll tell you, it has

[01:19:08] it touches on every genre you can think of from the from the vector graphics

[01:19:17] of the very first Star Wars game where we had stayed up.

[01:19:22] Dark Forces was kind of like that.

[01:19:24] We got into the booth and yeah, well, no, my my father would play a lot of those

[01:19:30] CD games back in the day.

[01:19:32] I think my uncle played X-Wing or Tie Fighter, but yeah, absolutely.

[01:19:38] My dark forces was mainly like

[01:19:43] Doom and Prince of Persia kind of just going to Maze and there's a death trap.

[01:19:48] James, were you the one mentioning the vector vector graphics?

[01:19:51] Tom was Tom.

[01:19:52] Yes.

[01:19:53] So even worst scene was like I own an arcade bar, you know, retro

[01:19:58] in the Tampa area and that particular video game,

[01:20:02] the original Star Wars vector graphics one is considered the holy grail of all

[01:20:07] arcade games.

[01:20:09] Yeah.

[01:20:10] It's impossible to get.

[01:20:11] There are versions where people may have emulated and put it up.

[01:20:15] But if you want an original cab, original cabinet, the kind of thing it comes in

[01:20:19] with all the original hardware and most importantly, the controller, the.

[01:20:24] Yeah, yeah.

[01:20:25] It's going to be like Tron, for instance, it's very hard to get an original

[01:20:28] controller. That's what's not the electronics.

[01:20:31] You can replace those any day.

[01:20:32] You cannot replace those parts.

[01:20:34] And that machine is something that me and my partner have been trying to

[01:20:37] get a hold of. But right now they're around 15 grand if you can.

[01:20:41] Yeah, even if it's already possible.

[01:20:45] Not sixteen hundred fifteen grand.

[01:20:49] I mean, right?

[01:20:51] Yeah.

[01:20:52] Yeah.

[01:20:53] There's a place called Bar.

[01:20:54] There's a place called Barcade by where I live.

[01:20:58] Where my friend Humphrey lives in Philadelphia.

[01:21:01] Oh yeah. That's the one we went.

[01:21:03] We went there and they had the the Activision one with the three levels you could play.

[01:21:10] Oh, sweet.

[01:21:10] The entire original trilogy.

[01:21:12] Then we went to one.

[01:21:14] We went to one Newark and Humphrey's like my friend Humphrey's like, dude,

[01:21:17] you got to take a look at this.

[01:21:18] So it's the actual sit down one of it was the sit in booth of Star Wars

[01:21:25] where you can blow up the tie fighters and shit.

[01:21:29] And then you shoot the maze.

[01:21:30] Yeah. And I was you know, you did the the the the the the trencher.

[01:21:35] We'll be with you always.

[01:21:37] Yeah, I remember that.

[01:21:39] But I love the stuff like.

[01:21:43] Like they had an RTS game called Galactic Battlegrounds.

[01:21:47] Oh, yeah.

[01:21:49] It was done in the early 2000s.

[01:21:52] You could play the Republic of the Grand Republic of the Grand Army of the Republic.

[01:21:59] The Wookiees, the Trade Federation, Gun Guns, the Gundins,

[01:22:03] the the the Techno Union, I think it was.

[01:22:06] Yeah, yeah.

[01:22:07] You could play the Empire and you could play the the Rebel Alliance.

[01:22:13] So what you do is you would like to have all these other

[01:22:15] fat like these factions fight each other.

[01:22:18] And I was I'm still trying to look for a copy that I could play.

[01:22:22] You know, maybe I might have to steam it or something like that.

[01:22:24] I don't know.

[01:22:24] But I used to love playing it when you could play it and you could play

[01:22:28] I would do like I would think, OK, how am I going to do this?

[01:22:30] Oh, yeah, I'll just do it.

[01:22:31] You didn't like the infirmary for the same.

[01:22:32] So they did in Desert Storm just fly over, bomb the shit out of them,

[01:22:36] come back around again.

[01:22:38] You are playing God with their lives.

[01:22:41] Yeah, I'll do the Schwartzcroft thing.

[01:22:43] I have all my troops on one side and then I'll just fly the X wings

[01:22:46] and the wide wings over and have them come around fly sorties, got them fixed.

[01:22:50] Come out around again.

[01:22:52] You know, it was just fun to do, you know, I love that game.

[01:22:55] And then I love the what was the one with with on PS2?

[01:22:59] You could play the Clone Wars.

[01:23:00] I think that was a fun actioner.

[01:23:02] There was a bounty hunter video game, which

[01:23:06] in Extra Light and Magic did all the realistic graphics and it was like.

[01:23:09] Then there was a pod racer.

[01:23:11] Pod racers, Jedi battles.

[01:23:14] Battle.

[01:23:15] Yeah, they were called battle fronts or battle fronts.

[01:23:20] Absolutely. We were talking about the road squadron was great.

[01:23:22] Road squadron was one of my favorites.

[01:23:25] And they do reuse the 70s disco theme to start it off.

[01:23:30] And then why not?

[01:23:32] There were the Super Nintendo platformers that especially the yes.

[01:23:35] All the Super Empire and Super Jedi.

[01:23:39] The follow ups to Dark Forces, Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy.

[01:23:44] Those were fun.

[01:23:45] I would enter a bunch of cheat codes and make R2D to explode and everything.

[01:23:49] I one time one time I could do not.

[01:23:51] I I crashed my entire computer, much to my dad's anger, because I spawned a rain

[01:23:58] core and it interacted with the cinematic as it was playing and ate the Sith.

[01:24:02] You know, Sith Lords on screen and that crashed the whole thing.

[01:24:05] And that's right.

[01:24:07] There you go now it's kind of but it was cool.

[01:24:09] You could hijack speed racers while saving Lando from pirates and fighting

[01:24:16] alongside Chewbacca and just epic graphics.

[01:24:19] Great. The re-releasing Dark Forces is like really this year.

[01:24:23] Yeah, interesting.

[01:24:24] I say nice.

[01:24:26] I love big.

[01:24:27] There's another one called Sores Outlaws.

[01:24:29] But yeah, the thing at this time,

[01:24:31] how about you take Dash Rindar from Shows of the Empire and you do a space buddy cop

[01:24:36] smuggling movie with Kyle Katarn?

[01:24:39] Oh, yeah.

[01:24:41] The weapon.

[01:24:43] You so.

[01:24:45] You got a hot iron.

[01:24:48] You're going to need a gungan in there, you know what I mean?

[01:24:50] No, no.

[01:24:51] Just just a look.

[01:24:52] Oh my God.

[01:24:53] This is not just dread.

[01:24:56] Can I just say this right now?

[01:24:58] Dash Rindar is the most under-appreciated character in the history of Star Wars,

[01:25:02] no matter which way you look at it.

[01:25:03] He's just trying to sell statistics.

[01:25:07] For that matter, what's the spice?

[01:25:09] Don't bring it up on my slides.

[01:25:11] I agree.

[01:25:12] He's he's a pretty laid back dude.

[01:25:15] He's like Han Solo.

[01:25:16] He's like the alter ego.

[01:25:17] He's like he could go right now, but he even feels more loyalty since these guys

[01:25:21] have helped nurse them back down.

[01:25:23] But there's one thing I got to say.

[01:25:25] The one I the one game I remember I got first thing I got thrown out of Best

[01:25:30] Five for playing Best Viper playing Rogue Squadron 2 too much.

[01:25:35] When I was there.

[01:25:37] What?

[01:25:39] I was in Best Buy.

[01:25:41] They have the old Super the old Nintendo Cube set up right?

[01:25:46] So you could play Rogue Squadron 2, right?

[01:25:49] So I'm playing it and this kid's like going, I want to play that.

[01:25:52] And I'm like, I'm playing this.

[01:25:54] He's like, I want to play that.

[01:25:55] And he's putting up a big fuss and the guy goes, sir, either you let him play

[01:25:59] or we tell you to leave.

[01:26:00] I'm like, I've been playing this for like 10 minutes.

[01:26:05] I played this thing for 10 minutes and I look up and it was an hour.

[01:26:09] Oh, yeah. And I was like, oh, is this kid your nephew, Mr.

[01:26:14] Store owner?

[01:26:15] No.

[01:26:19] So just so you know, James played first.

[01:26:23] Yeah, he played first.

[01:26:25] Yeah.

[01:26:26] And then I remember going to

[01:26:32] Tozer us and playing of all

[01:26:35] coming back, yet, yet I started fighter.

[01:26:39] Great game.

[01:26:40] Oh, that's that is that's an underrated classic right there.

[01:26:44] They even made comic books featuring those same characters, NIMM and company.

[01:26:49] But my brother and I, we would go to a friend's house and play the Nintendo

[01:26:53] 64, but we would also play the PC PC ROM version.

[01:26:57] And it was so cool when you blew stuff up, you had the Pannaka guy

[01:27:00] shouting at you saying, get over here now.

[01:27:03] Move.

[01:27:06] And but it felt so much fun just hijacking and blowing up tanks.

[01:27:10] I do like the modern.

[01:27:12] I haven't played Jedi Survivor, but phone order.

[01:27:15] So right if I have this in right order?

[01:27:16] All in order.

[01:27:17] Yeah, all in order is the new one.

[01:27:19] Yeah. Who did you?

[01:27:21] A.A.

[01:27:22] Phone order was first one.

[01:27:24] Survivors.

[01:27:25] Yeah, it's coming out too.

[01:27:26] Yeah.

[01:27:27] So they're really awesome.

[01:27:28] They're kind of shameless, dead soul,

[01:27:31] you know, but they're really good and the acting.

[01:27:36] The only thing it throws me off is the dude from Shameless.

[01:27:38] It's like it only seems like a weird freaky pervert.

[01:27:42] You know, like, yeah, that guy.

[01:27:44] Right. He isn't that he's great at it actor.

[01:27:47] And they're bringing it is canon, which is kind of cool.

[01:27:50] Yeah.

[01:27:51] So they reference like him and a few other things he's starting to kind

[01:27:54] of be brought in, and I think they will eventually use them.

[01:27:57] Yeah.

[01:27:57] And yeah.

[01:27:59] And they brought in Sam Whitmore or Whitmore or whatever.

[01:28:03] Yeah, the first dollar for Battlefront 2.

[01:28:06] And the newer one.

[01:28:08] And that was just an engaging story.

[01:28:10] I loved it.

[01:28:12] But like I was saying, you can find about everything.

[01:28:15] Even from the Atari 2600 days, you can find games that that will throw

[01:28:20] your back, but as each game builds on the other and as technology goes,

[01:28:26] the mythos, everything is becomes interconnected and shows that you're

[01:28:34] making an advancement over what you had before.

[01:28:37] I'm still a big fan of Star Wars Squadron.

[01:28:40] That took me back to days of the Rogue Squadron, X-Wing and

[01:28:46] TIE Fighter and yeah, the Squadrons.

[01:28:49] Squadrons is fun.

[01:28:51] The battle from the front games.

[01:28:53] Right.

[01:28:54] Very great party games.

[01:28:55] The newer ones too are the two or ones are great.

[01:28:58] The old ones are great too.

[01:29:00] And Fallen Order, I initially hated it, but then I gave another try and it's like

[01:29:06] I got immersed in the story and that in of itself shows just the power of it.

[01:29:11] And I want to see what I'm going to see.

[01:29:14] I want to see where it goes next because yeah, I think you guys

[01:29:18] in Jedi power battles, who did you guys often play as?

[01:29:21] Which is generally considered a night to the old program.

[01:29:24] Yeah, it's all good.

[01:29:25] Yeah, and I somehow miss me, you know, I'm just as old as most of people here.

[01:29:30] It's all good.

[01:29:31] There's no pressure here.

[01:29:32] We're not being the Nazi Star Wars trolls.

[01:29:35] We're just actually having fun here.

[01:29:36] But but Jedi power battles was fun because you could play as the various Jedi

[01:29:42] Order guys, you know, fight Drotica, hijack tanks and

[01:29:47] basically knew how to blue lightsaber because this before they finalized it.

[01:29:52] It was just you could play Po Koon.

[01:29:55] Yes, Adi Gallia Obi-Wan Kenobi.

[01:29:58] Think of it as an alternate side scroll of Phantom.

[01:30:01] It's like, look, these guys fucked up the generation that opening.

[01:30:07] I want to play as the horse pilot.

[01:30:11] The horse pilot.

[01:30:12] I want to play like that.

[01:30:14] But the rabbit mentioned earlier.

[01:30:16] Oh, the rabbit.

[01:30:18] Oh, God.

[01:30:18] Rabbit, a horse pilot.

[01:30:20] There's a horse.

[01:30:21] What about Yaddle, a girl friend?

[01:30:24] She's finally getting we love her.

[01:30:27] I do great sex.

[01:30:28] We had OK, keep it down.

[01:30:30] Keep it down.

[01:30:32] Yeah, only female one there.

[01:30:34] I would like six years that was the clone of Luke made from his severed hand.

[01:30:40] And oh, God, I remember that.

[01:30:41] Oh my God.

[01:30:43] This is all true.

[01:30:45] Look at how I mean, I'm true.

[01:30:47] It's legends Luke Skywalker has nards, man.

[01:30:50] So so what what race is Yoda?

[01:30:54] Because George Lucas has always been asked this.

[01:30:56] No, he said he says he's a frog, which we know is bullshit.

[01:31:01] Now, I would say they said they said at one point they said he was part of a race

[01:31:07] called the wills, which is right.

[01:31:10] Yes, yes, the journey of.

[01:31:11] I saw that.

[01:31:12] It's like a journal of yeah, when they say the journal, the wills.

[01:31:16] I think his his race are Yoda's race.

[01:31:21] His civilization are very in tune with the force and they are known as the wills.

[01:31:26] So they're basically like, let's say the night sisters,

[01:31:29] but they're a totally different side of what what they are.

[01:31:32] So Yoda and his his civilization are kind of like

[01:31:36] carriers of the light side of the force.

[01:31:38] You notice Yoda is very in tune to the force.

[01:31:41] I don't know.

[01:31:43] What I have noticed that he seems to be about this whole force.

[01:31:46] I think he's pretty good at it.

[01:31:51] I couldn't I was gone for a minute.

[01:31:56] Anybody bring up Angry Birds Star Wars?

[01:31:58] No Star Wars.

[01:32:01] What?

[01:32:02] It was on Angry Birds.

[01:32:03] Yes, the PlayStation or something.

[01:32:05] What?

[01:32:06] Yes, I remember playing it.

[01:32:08] It wasn't very good.

[01:32:09] Although gravity, which is kind of a fun effect.

[01:32:14] But Gil, Gil, here's a funny thing.

[01:32:16] They had Ian McDermott played the voice of the of the emperor bird.

[01:32:22] What?

[01:32:22] He talked about he talked about when he was returning to the Jedi.

[01:32:27] And you know, when the chair swivels around,

[01:32:30] well, they couldn't stop it.

[01:32:32] So if you see him, he stopped, you know, he's stopping the chair.

[01:32:35] But his feet are like trying to stop it before it goes any farther.

[01:32:38] My biggest problem with Angry Birds, I mean,

[01:32:43] within the lore of the game,

[01:32:49] all of the little pigs are wearing little imperial helmets.

[01:32:52] But it's fucking called anger.

[01:32:54] Because get it.

[01:32:55] In the birds, imperial.

[01:32:57] That should be they should be the bad guys.

[01:32:59] You know, fear leads to anger, anger leads to anger.

[01:33:02] There is there is.

[01:33:04] They're suffering.

[01:33:05] They're literally calling birds.

[01:33:06] They're the bad guys.

[01:33:07] They should be wearing little imperial helmets.

[01:33:09] Every time you knock over the bag, what's the pigs?

[01:33:11] They should be the ever going.

[01:33:14] Realize it's fiction, right?

[01:33:17] I guess, man.

[01:33:18] I don't know.

[01:33:19] Some people get hooked up on fucking fiction.

[01:33:22] They can't separate it from reality.

[01:33:24] Where's reality?

[01:33:25] Shut it.

[01:33:26] What's the best Star Wars theme convention you've been to?

[01:33:29] I know some of those five hundred and first guys were real snobs

[01:33:32] because they were like, you got an actual armor order from the UK.

[01:33:36] Like, no, we're going to make it.

[01:33:40] Totally roots of the fun.

[01:33:41] I'm sure there are neither is Dix.

[01:33:46] We've already I think we've all established together.

[01:33:48] Your Swartz is as big as my Star Wars fandom.

[01:33:51] Yeah, one of the most toxic.

[01:33:53] And I've known a 501st guy who's

[01:33:56] sweetest guy for himself that we know.

[01:33:59] And it was the only kind of group to join if you were super into cosplaying.

[01:34:03] Yeah.

[01:34:04] Or like, yeah, bigger thing.

[01:34:06] And it's just a way to get together with other nerds.

[01:34:09] So for him, I think he he validated by being in that basement all these years.

[01:34:15] Yeah.

[01:34:16] I'm saying what's the best convention you've been to?

[01:34:19] I showed the picture.

[01:34:20] That was actually from a Star Wars museum exhibit.

[01:34:24] There was all the cost.

[01:34:25] Oh, sweet. Yeah.

[01:34:26] And that was the close.

[01:34:27] I came to a true Star Wars convention because I know a lot of comic conventions

[01:34:31] and you'll see a ray here and there, but you won't see too much like pure

[01:34:34] Star Wars because kind of they have their own thing.

[01:34:36] It's on separate.

[01:34:37] I've been to interesting.

[01:34:40] A couple of comic book conventions.

[01:34:42] There was one guy dressed as Vader who had everything perfect.

[01:34:47] Really?

[01:34:48] Yeah.

[01:34:49] Yeah.

[01:34:50] And then there's another guy done up as Obi-Wan, Alec Guinness Obi-Wan.

[01:34:54] He had he had the actual lightsaber hilt made for him.

[01:35:01] So he's wondering around the convention with the guy dressed as Vader.

[01:35:04] So he's like, whenever he sees him, he's like putting his cap out here,

[01:35:07] the hood of his cloak over his head.

[01:35:10] And there was a couple of guys dressed as stormtroopers and a couple of guys

[01:35:15] dressed as clone troopers.

[01:35:16] But I've never been to a Star Wars convention.

[01:35:19] I want to go to the one that that they're going to have in a couple of years,

[01:35:23] you know, down the road when I could get some money and just like go and

[01:35:27] fucking hang out there and shit.

[01:35:28] Absolutely.

[01:35:30] Down the road or you know, we've had

[01:35:33] dates here on the show before he's in some of those same podcast groups we were

[01:35:36] in and he was able to go to the new Disney World.

[01:35:38] I think he takes a celebration around a wreck.

[01:35:40] Yeah, he takes his kids around a regular basis.

[01:35:42] I've been to the Star Tours back in the day and seven years.

[01:35:45] I'm or Orlando because I know I think it's Orlando and he was showing me

[01:35:50] all the different kinds of drinks in the cantina.

[01:35:53] And it does.

[01:35:54] It really does look like a fun chill lounge to just hang out.

[01:35:58] My friend, different Aaron, his they've since shut it down.

[01:36:01] But he actually his family is sister and her husband and their kids.

[01:36:06] They all went and did that Galactic Cruise thing.

[01:36:09] Yeah, wait, over five thousand dollars.

[01:36:12] But no one's gone now or at least it's shutting down.

[01:36:17] But if you follow this, it's yeah, I mean, they have plenty.

[01:36:21] He's like part owner of that black rifle company.

[01:36:24] So it's a funny.

[01:36:26] Yeah, so they do it and it's a fully immersive thing.

[01:36:30] If you saw it online, yeah, they had like costumes and like literally

[01:36:34] they had different clothes to wear because you were never supposed to break character.

[01:36:38] And so like they had their like formal wear and it was all like gowns like from

[01:36:43] and or where that's kind of like what they look like a fancy.

[01:36:47] And then they had their kind of leisure wear and like all these clothes.

[01:36:50] And it's like when the bus is taking it's supposed to be like a shuttle

[01:36:53] going to another planet.

[01:36:54] Right.

[01:36:55] I remember that.

[01:36:56] It's like every time you look out the window, it's like you're in space.

[01:37:00] And like the rooms and stuff.

[01:37:01] And he said it was awesome.

[01:37:02] And if you have that kind of money, that's where I would do it.

[01:37:04] Absolutely.

[01:37:05] Five thousand dollars.

[01:37:06] Like five hundred dollars.

[01:37:08] And it's going to bring the kids together, get them out of their shell, say, hey,

[01:37:11] it's fun to kind of interact just like in the movie.

[01:37:14] When did they when did they stop the Star Tours?

[01:37:17] Like Cheech and Chong.

[01:37:19] Cheech and Chong.

[01:37:20] I imagine them at Star Wars.

[01:37:22] That'd be great.

[01:37:23] So it's like the Star Tours, I think so goes on, doesn't it?

[01:37:25] I thought they shut it down recently.

[01:37:28] They shut down the cruise because it was too expensive.

[01:37:31] That's all the money I think I'm actually be underselling it.

[01:37:34] A five green and five people.

[01:37:35] But I did rank Star Tours and I thought it's just fun.

[01:37:38] Like as far as a theme park ride, it's just very interactive, much like the T2

[01:37:44] ride and there's even a men in black ride.

[01:37:47] You know, there was all kinds of fun stuff at both Universal and Disney.

[01:37:50] And oh, man, Blackbribe.

[01:37:52] He gets there was, you know, what happened mentioned.

[01:37:56] Don't think and I've been getting up a couple of times and join myself.

[01:37:59] We have a good time.

[01:38:01] I hope you have a show that starred

[01:38:04] Amod Best, when you played like a Jedi teacher.

[01:38:08] Yeah, that's what.

[01:38:10] Go ahead, James.

[01:38:11] That's off now, but

[01:38:14] they got the I think they got the idea for mischaracter in The Mandalorian.

[01:38:19] Yes, it is from that show.

[01:38:20] It's from that name.

[01:38:22] Yeah.

[01:38:22] And the context of that show is like he was teaching kids

[01:38:25] to do things like obstacles and stuff.

[01:38:28] Yeah, and I think the great thing about that episode of The Mandalorian was

[01:38:33] him coming back, the doors open, there he is.

[01:38:36] And everybody I knew who had not liked him, all of a sudden we're gone.

[01:38:41] Oh my God.

[01:38:42] And he was like his character was a badass, you know, taken down to

[01:38:47] take down a whole battalion of stormtroopers,

[01:38:49] you know, going on a speeder bike and chased by two republic gunships.

[01:38:53] Yeah, yeah. Jedi Temple challenge.

[01:38:54] Yeah, I had no idea.

[01:38:56] Wow.

[01:38:57] And it was like.

[01:38:59] Oh, sorry, I mean, cut you off.

[01:39:00] I know that I never watched his show, but I found out about it when they showed

[01:39:04] him, right? Some of the ones like Star Wars Explained and stuff.

[01:39:07] And I guess one of the ongoing jokes of that show is he says that he used to be

[01:39:12] like a badass and and then like doesn't do stuff.

[01:39:14] So everyone's like, OK, you're just talking at your assets while you're

[01:39:17] working with kids, but it's supposed to be like in universe, right?

[01:39:20] When he takes these kids, it's like he's training them.

[01:39:22] So it's like he's to be the greatest show.

[01:39:24] Like, OK, Wanker, you know, like they've been playing on the last in the show.

[01:39:27] And so when they saw him actually kicking at you like he is great.

[01:39:32] It really is cool.

[01:39:33] I mean, the dude was in freaking stop for God's sake.

[01:39:37] Yeah.

[01:39:38] That's yeah.

[01:39:39] And I've heard multiple times that he did not want to do that voice.

[01:39:42] I mean, as a black man, I don't think he wanted to be like doing a

[01:39:44] bit of a show, but George like do a bunch of different voices.

[01:39:47] And then he took that one and he was like, oh, God,

[01:39:49] it's not really his fault.

[01:39:51] Like he went on and was like, I'm going to make this awful character.

[01:39:56] Yeah, where George Lucas loves that sort of stuff.

[01:39:59] I mean, the original voice was supposed to be Dr.

[01:40:02] Forrester from Mr. Science Theatre himself, Chris Buu.

[01:40:05] And it's a shame they passed on him because I thought he would have made it witty.

[01:40:09] Yeah.

[01:40:10] I mean, they did some good casting.

[01:40:13] I mean, I really do think they did good casting.

[01:40:15] I love the movies.

[01:40:16] I think it's clear.

[01:40:17] Yeah, so we hear, but the casting is, I think, almost unimpactable.

[01:40:23] It's just the George Lucas can't direct for shit.

[01:40:25] Thank you.

[01:40:26] Well, I'm gonna drink.

[01:40:28] All right.

[01:40:29] Speaking of movies.

[01:40:30] We hijacked number two.

[01:40:32] Number two you have.

[01:40:33] Oh my God.

[01:40:35] What's the place that you have top?

[01:40:37] Thanks.

[01:40:37] Number two.

[01:40:39] Star Wars and Europe.

[01:40:41] Oh, the first movie.

[01:40:44] That is number two on my list.

[01:40:45] So who did that?

[01:40:46] Is the Mac Daddy.

[01:40:48] That is the one that got me into the door.

[01:40:50] That was the one that got me really psyched about science fiction.

[01:40:55] I say that's one of the movies that turned me into the geek that I am today.

[01:40:59] Wonderful.

[01:41:00] But and but you remember, I was I was in grade school.

[01:41:04] I was it was something that I had no idea what was going into.

[01:41:09] But coming out of it, I have the the final meat of.

[01:41:15] The the final theme running through my head and I was walking out to the car.

[01:41:19] Like I was ready to take on the empire myself.

[01:41:23] But that left such an indelible mark on my life.

[01:41:28] That I would be remiss if I didn't if I didn't keep it somewhere in my top five.

[01:41:34] Yeah, it's also funny.

[01:41:36] From it.

[01:41:37] Yeah, it's funny when you realize that almost all of us like when we're doing

[01:41:41] our own writing or looking at our storytelling, we're indirectly

[01:41:44] referenced by it.

[01:41:45] I remember I was helping my dad back in the early days of marketing websites

[01:41:48] and he was asking for my two cents is like, how should I design this animation?

[01:41:52] And I was like, I was indirectly inspired by the briefing segment of how they're

[01:41:55] going to destroy the Death Star.

[01:41:57] I'm like, how do you have this guy walking here here?

[01:41:58] Like he's giving a speech.

[01:42:01] But it's it's ingrained in us in some way or another, just whether it's

[01:42:05] an establishing shots, I see a lot of documentary filmmakers who are

[01:42:09] indirectly inspired by Lucas's shots.

[01:42:11] And it's even more ironic because that's actually what he studied growing up

[01:42:14] was how to make documentaries.

[01:42:17] Yeah, it's it's very rare that you get to see something.

[01:42:22] First one that become the zeitgeist.

[01:42:28] Mm hmm.

[01:42:29] The template did it.

[01:42:31] That created everything that created or

[01:42:35] the fluid, everything that came after it.

[01:42:38] And it has spawned so much

[01:42:42] just not just video games, but

[01:42:45] toys, cosplay, conventions.

[01:42:49] It is mainly.

[01:42:50] It's a good point.

[01:42:52] Yeah.

[01:42:52] You know, that's kind of like huge.

[01:42:55] You know, I didn't even think about that.

[01:42:56] Yeah, the only master.

[01:42:58] Yeah.

[01:43:00] Yeah.

[01:43:02] It took that dark ages to you got to think about that.

[01:43:06] Yeah, that would anyone even know what a hologram is if you didn't watch the original?

[01:43:11] No.

[01:43:12] And honestly, you have nerd culture, you know what I mean?

[01:43:15] Like, yeah, the concept of being like, I'm OK, comfortable talking about this

[01:43:19] or finding a language to talk.

[01:43:21] I've been reading Lord of the Rings in my room, but no one was big enough.

[01:43:25] I'm not just going to go around and say Dune lines.

[01:43:27] Dune.

[01:43:29] But like someone said it earlier where someone was like said it's a trap.

[01:43:33] And it's like, you know, God laugh because people know it.

[01:43:35] Like if you're like, hey, you're the quiz that's had a ranch.

[01:43:38] It's like one person going to go good one and everyone's like, fuck off.

[01:43:41] Well, it's a trap.

[01:43:43] It gets feel like let's go.

[01:43:44] You're my boy.

[01:43:45] Well, you talk about the quiz that's had a wreck.

[01:43:47] I would go go at the end where there was war more of deep bring peace,

[01:43:51] where there was hate, what love.

[01:43:55] Where there picked next war deep would bring potato salad.

[01:44:00] You look a little bit like a little peek.

[01:44:03] Yeah, but here's a.

[01:44:05] That's the most.

[01:44:07] But here's something that you that we really don't talk about some of us,

[01:44:11] but it but Star Wars had a had a huge impact

[01:44:17] on toys, especially action figures.

[01:44:20] Yeah.

[01:44:21] They before you had the 12 inch G.I. Joe's and

[01:44:26] and the Kenner found a way

[01:44:30] to take and to take what was already there, reduce it so that this

[01:44:36] set the vehicles themselves would not be so bulky and reduce the price point.

[01:44:41] And then from there, it just took off.

[01:44:46] G.I. Joe in the 80s wouldn't have been like that.

[01:44:52] You still have one like outliers like the Masters of the

[01:44:56] University or bigger, but still on the ball.

[01:45:00] That whole concept, that whole concept of creating something that's smaller so you

[01:45:05] didn't get the price point.

[01:45:08] Well, that revolutionized toys across the board.

[01:45:12] Yeah. Here's the thing, Tom, I found out was that

[01:45:16] Mego and Kenner were in race in a race to get the licensing rights to Star Wars.

[01:45:22] Yes, they're known to do the six inch versions of superheroes.

[01:45:28] So if they were going to make the the

[01:45:32] vehicles and stuff, they would make them huge.

[01:45:35] The Millennium Falcon probably be like the size of like, you know,

[01:45:37] a bed or something like that.

[01:45:39] So absolutely.

[01:45:40] There's a guy who said, I got a great idea.

[01:45:43] Let's make a three and three quarter inches tall.

[01:45:47] And that way the play sets will be smaller and we can mass produce them more.

[01:45:51] And that's what started Mego's downfall.

[01:45:53] And then Mego in 1979 got the rights to do Star Trek, the motion picture.

[01:45:58] And they put out their figures, which were not that good.

[01:46:04] You know, in that sense.

[01:46:06] And you know, if you got the bridge to the Enterprise, it was made out of

[01:46:10] the stuff that, you know, you get you get a coffee cup lid out of.

[01:46:15] I'm like, you know,

[01:46:18] gathering is like what's the matter?

[01:46:20] Dad fell apart.

[01:46:21] My father just looks at me and goes, it's a piece of shit throwing out.

[01:46:24] You know,

[01:46:27] and then they made the same mistake with the Buck Rogers toys.

[01:46:30] Yeah, yeah.

[01:46:32] They they screwed that up because the Buck Rogers toys, you know, they were.

[01:46:38] They wanted the license, but they didn't want to do the work.

[01:46:40] It sounds like what happened?

[01:46:43] They put the black, the bad, the black, they had the black hole in the Buck Rogers toys.

[01:46:46] What happened was they didn't have the guns.

[01:46:50] You know, they were just they were just figures you could pose.

[01:46:53] That was it.

[01:46:54] And the pieces would come apart if you had any of the hands back then they

[01:46:59] weren't made out of plastic or a mirror, like some sort of porcelain thing in the

[01:47:03] hands, which is a go snap.

[01:47:05] It's called the something fake that you said in Brazil to.

[01:47:07] Yeah, yeah.

[01:47:09] Now there's a Brazilian toy set, but a lot of the really shaking bag.

[01:47:13] Yeah, this is why you don't drink in big.

[01:47:19] I'm drinking a bacon right now, buddy.

[01:47:21] Oh, you are.

[01:47:23] That's true.

[01:47:25] There's an interesting thing.

[01:47:26] I agree completely on the toy thing because there's two things that I think

[01:47:29] stand out to me there, which is earlier we're talking about the fact that

[01:47:33] modern stores are kind of like people thinking back when they played with their

[01:47:36] toys, but it's meant for themselves.

[01:47:40] But I see it as positive, like they were creating their own stories and those

[01:47:43] kind of toys.

[01:47:44] Yeah, and because they were, although the counter had less articulation points

[01:47:49] than the G.I. Joe's, you could still stick them in each other's toy sets

[01:47:53] and create like this happened and this happened.

[01:47:56] Stuffing into the little garbage compact.

[01:47:58] Yeah, you play to Lego.

[01:47:59] Yeah, you can make your own stuff.

[01:48:00] And now that's what's happening.

[01:48:02] That generation is going, oh, I had my own toys and yes, you're right.

[01:48:05] I'm sure they're inspiring other toy developers as well.

[01:48:09] Little lone video game advertisers.

[01:48:11] It's all kind of interconnected with merchandise.

[01:48:14] What's pretty funny too is that the

[01:48:15] counter toys, they were just given pictures and not a lot of descriptions

[01:48:19] because they needed the toys to come out in line with the movie, meaning

[01:48:22] they didn't get the toys.

[01:48:24] So you get like Walrus Man.

[01:48:26] Even if you're a deleted character, you're getting a toy of yourself.

[01:48:29] Right. Rick O'Lake.

[01:48:30] Right.

[01:48:30] Those are famous.

[01:48:32] Everyone's like, wait, he's not in the movie.

[01:48:33] Big Star Glider.

[01:48:35] Yeah, all these guys.

[01:48:36] All these kind of goofly named characters.

[01:48:38] They don't know.

[01:48:39] I have Walrus Man, I guess.

[01:48:40] I guess I want the Walrus.

[01:48:42] Yeah.

[01:48:43] You don't know their names, but it's interesting because that's where you

[01:48:46] learn the lore.

[01:48:47] Yeah.

[01:48:47] A lot of the backstories reading the lore.

[01:48:49] It is.

[01:48:50] It's like Shadows of the Empire toy line.

[01:48:52] Yeah.

[01:48:53] Yeah, I have to say I'm disappointed that the Walrus Man did not look like Paul McCartney.

[01:48:58] I could too.

[01:48:59] Hey, we've got the death sentence on 12 systems.

[01:49:03] Yeah.

[01:49:03] You look like you.

[01:49:05] Hey, Ringo, pull up that there, hologram.

[01:49:07] I don't like you either.

[01:49:09] I don't like you.

[01:49:11] I don't like you either.

[01:49:12] I don't like you either.

[01:49:13] I don't like you either.

[01:49:14] You'll be dead.

[01:49:15] This is the one that's not worth the effort.

[01:49:18] Like me?

[01:49:19] Like me.

[01:49:20] Yeah.

[01:49:21] You know what's been kind of lost in this whole Star Wars thing we've

[01:49:24] been talking about is how cool a character Han Solo is.

[01:49:29] Yeah, the groundwork at the time there really wasn't a character like him in movies before.

[01:49:33] Can you imagine?

[01:49:34] This pilot?

[01:49:36] If you were in Harrison Ford, if Harrison had not answered the call when you had gone

[01:49:42] without or Chris Walken or Kurt Russell.

[01:49:45] Kurt Russell.

[01:49:47] Yes, Chris Russell probably not.

[01:49:49] I don't know, man.

[01:49:50] Falcon ship.

[01:49:52] Fly.

[01:49:53] That's no movie.

[01:49:54] I did the couple run.

[01:49:58] If it's if it's zero hunter era,

[01:50:02] Chris Walken and with you watch on my eyes.

[01:50:06] They should have got Tim Curry.

[01:50:08] Space.

[01:50:09] Oh, well.

[01:50:10] You know, I just have to rest.

[01:50:12] Little classics.

[01:50:14] Right.

[01:50:15] And have them still in Rocky Horror Garb.

[01:50:17] That'd be even though.

[01:50:18] Here's some for breakfast.

[01:50:19] I don't really care what's going on quality to it.

[01:50:22] Which is funny because it works for the character.

[01:50:25] Yeah, I'm just here.

[01:50:27] I had someone earlier that their name is Hans Gruber.

[01:50:30] But I think I don't recommend an awesome imperial.

[01:50:34] Right.

[01:50:35] Perfect.

[01:50:36] I just.

[01:50:37] Absolutely great emperor.

[01:50:39] Yes.

[01:50:40] I would actually like to see him as the emperor.

[01:50:43] You really think you've got a chance yet?

[01:50:45] You asked for a mirror.

[01:50:47] You really think you got a chance?

[01:50:49] Yes.

[01:50:50] Oh, why did this take a weird turn?

[01:50:54] It really did.

[01:50:55] We must go down on this.

[01:50:56] I was lost.

[01:50:57] I think that's it.

[01:50:58] The trends on the forest moon will die soon.

[01:51:01] I would probably do this for the rest of my life.

[01:51:04] The rest of my life.

[01:51:06] Skywalker.

[01:51:07] Perfect screw with me.

[01:51:09] Don't see Tom.

[01:51:11] You mentioned bringing the toys in.

[01:51:13] This is what it's done.

[01:51:14] Oh, well, I think this is because.

[01:51:15] We're now playing with our toys.

[01:51:16] I think this is explaining exactly what happened during the castle run.

[01:51:19] A lot of crazy shit, but down.

[01:51:21] Yeah, it would be fun to cross over the Star Wars kit disco

[01:51:26] with matches of the universe.

[01:51:28] This dough.

[01:51:29] Yeah, look, it's a lot of stuff.

[01:51:31] Here.

[01:51:32] Oh, my God.

[01:51:34] You got this guy with the tentacles on his head wanting to fist you.

[01:51:38] What the hell story is that?

[01:51:39] Yeah, it's a good.

[01:51:42] No role 34.

[01:51:44] I took over man Ram.

[01:51:46] Was that his name?

[01:51:47] Ram man.

[01:51:49] Ram man, yeah, he turns into like various sizes.

[01:51:51] Dildos.

[01:51:53] Now I want to see a Thundercats version of Star Wars.

[01:51:56] Oh, I think there's a Star Wars.

[01:52:00] A lot of these disco Star Wars.

[01:52:02] Yeah, they're all disco Star Wars.

[01:52:05] You guys wait, hold on.

[01:52:06] You guys ever seen the movie Star Chase Star Chaser, the legend of Orin?

[01:52:10] Yes.

[01:52:12] OK, no.

[01:52:13] Yeah.

[01:52:14] It's.

[01:52:15] Yes.

[01:52:18] But who's who's been trying?

[01:52:19] Not me, not me.

[01:52:20] I have, I have, I have.

[01:52:22] Oh, my God.

[01:52:23] No, I have not.

[01:52:24] I don't know this.

[01:52:26] Yes.

[01:52:27] You ever heard from Cisco neighbors?

[01:52:30] George Lucas should have his lawyers at the stand by right now.

[01:52:34] Yeah. Yeah.

[01:52:35] Oh, yeah.

[01:52:36] Fun fact, there actually is a he-man connection to that.

[01:52:40] Anthony DeLongas, who was best known for doing a lot of sword grappling

[01:52:43] and everything, and voiceovers worked on this.

[01:52:46] Oh, God.

[01:52:48] The guy who played Skeletor, what's his name?

[01:52:50] That's the great Angela, which he still says.

[01:52:53] Yeah, favorite role ever.

[01:52:55] Yes.

[01:52:56] He did some voices, too, which I'm blanking on.

[01:52:59] Tom, I'm sorry.

[01:53:00] Alan Oppenheimer, Alan Oppenheimer, just thinking of.

[01:53:03] Yeah, he did the bull.

[01:53:04] Wow.

[01:53:05] He.

[01:53:06] Ninkampo.

[01:53:07] Yo, Ninkampo Falls.

[01:53:09] I'm Skeletor.

[01:53:11] I got a face like a skeleton.

[01:53:14] Now I'm going to compete with the evil horde.

[01:53:16] What's the matter with you people?

[01:53:18] I'm reading through there.

[01:53:19] Such a mouthpiece, man.

[01:53:20] Even do you hate the best?

[01:53:22] Come on, come on.

[01:53:24] Those are some good memes.

[01:53:25] Come on.

[01:53:26] Skeletor's got some good memes.

[01:53:28] Yes.

[01:53:29] Yeah.

[01:53:31] I'm so lost right now.

[01:53:33] Sorry.

[01:53:34] At least you're not alone in this world.

[01:53:37] Tom, number two.

[01:53:38] I, Tom, what you had number two is Star Wars the most picture.

[01:53:42] Was number one to toys?

[01:53:43] I want to make sure we didn't lose your ranking.

[01:53:45] No, I didn't even think about the toys, but the movie itself.

[01:53:50] I that trunks in a lot of stuff.

[01:53:53] But that was your number two, right?

[01:53:55] OK, that was my number two.

[01:53:56] But number one, it's never good to be number two.

[01:54:00] Except if you're Star Wars.

[01:54:03] And number one,

[01:54:06] the Tim P. Zahn books that were set

[01:54:09] nearly after the return of the Jedi.

[01:54:14] Those bangers.

[01:54:16] Those took I remember getting them and rushing out to get them

[01:54:21] when they came out in paperback.

[01:54:23] And I read the first one, the Empire, and it was like, my God.

[01:54:28] And look, not only are they using the

[01:54:30] jobs that I grew up with, but they're introducing so many more.

[01:54:34] And it fits.

[01:54:38] That's a major problem with Star Wars stuff coming out right now.

[01:54:42] You can kind of make it fit.

[01:54:44] You can kind of push it and megal it and say, oh, this is

[01:54:48] kind of the tier, the tier.

[01:54:50] The Tim P. Zahn books.

[01:54:52] Although from the word go.

[01:54:55] Tom, what's his last name again?

[01:54:58] Zahn, like Zahn.

[01:55:00] Z-O-N-N-Z-A-H-N-Z-A-H-N-Z-A-H-N.

[01:55:05] And then OK.

[01:55:07] You'll find Kevin J Anderson of writing for writing modern ones too.

[01:55:11] Yeah, by the way, they brought them back.

[01:55:13] But he flushed out the whole Coruscant saga as well as how the empire function.

[01:55:18] The Mary Jade thing I thought was weak.

[01:55:21] Blast me.

[01:55:22] I know.

[01:55:23] Last suit.

[01:55:24] It was just so like it works in Dark Empire.

[01:55:27] But it's a chick that she's much use of redhead.

[01:55:30] And I have a thing for redhead.

[01:55:32] Yeah, it can be a woman.

[01:55:34] At least you're honest.

[01:55:36] That would be cool.

[01:55:37] But you remember it's at the I think I know this is not going to be a spoiler.

[01:55:42] So I'm like, see how it ends.

[01:55:43] But there's a there's a spoiler or a 40 year old book.

[01:55:46] There's a part where he is attacking Coruscant by this I mean,

[01:55:50] drawn by firing basically asteroids.

[01:55:53] Like that's the most devastating way that's used in

[01:55:57] the modern ones in the cinematic sci-fi.

[01:56:02] Like the expanse.

[01:56:05] Yeah, oh my God, that's true.

[01:56:07] Yeah, I deal with starship troopers.

[01:56:10] Yes.

[01:56:11] Yeah, that's a sad and also also in this really cheesy

[01:56:16] movie back in the eighties called

[01:56:20] there was a movie that where they did like disaster were hitting the planet.

[01:56:25] And there was like a news broadcast while it was going on.

[01:56:27] I remember Sandra Van Ochre was in it and Jane Tasmurrick was in it.

[01:56:31] Media and no, no, not media or no, no, no.

[01:56:34] It was another one.

[01:56:36] Seventy special bullets or something like that.

[01:56:39] No, not special bullets or something like please stand buyers like that.

[01:56:41] Oh, that's good.

[01:56:44] It's supposed to be like these aliens are contacting us through

[01:56:47] these asteroids crashing into us.

[01:56:50] What?

[01:56:51] Boom, boom.

[01:56:52] Could you stop communicating?

[01:56:55] So what we do is we fire missiles back like blowing.

[01:56:57] OK, I see it. Please stand by 1972.

[01:57:00] No, no, no, it's another one.

[01:57:02] It's another one.

[01:57:04] Please say my two standby.

[01:57:06] Yeah, stand by me followed by.

[01:57:10] Stand by stand by my other good.

[01:57:12] And then the stand and then yeah.

[01:57:14] No, it's like 1985.

[01:57:17] 1985.

[01:57:19] Oh, there you go.

[01:57:20] Yeah, this is your news.

[01:57:23] There you go.

[01:57:24] Yeah.

[01:57:26] Yeah, I remember it.

[01:57:28] Yeah, but you're right.

[01:57:30] The character of Thrawn who was in it.

[01:57:34] Jane Kasmerich.

[01:57:38] From Malcolm in the Middle,

[01:57:39] Andrew Van Ochre, who was a

[01:57:43] news broadcaster and they did this thing like there were meteors crashing into the earth without warning, without warning.

[01:57:51] Yeah.

[01:57:51] Yeah, I do recall this and they film it just like a documentary in it.

[01:57:56] And so it looks like an actual event that you're watching.

[01:57:59] See, and it had the other guy.

[01:58:02] Jack Palin's, I think that would be hysterical.

[01:58:06] So yeah, but yeah, Sandy VanCorke, I kept mistaking for Robert Lodge.

[01:58:12] Yeah.

[01:58:14] Robert Lodge with a rough voice.

[01:58:17] You have done it.

[01:58:18] E God.

[01:58:19] You've done it.

[01:58:21] And by Waylon Green, Absorcerer fame.

[01:58:24] Yeah.

[01:58:25] I mean, when you took Thrawn kind of came into that whole disonceries is like he's the big baddie now.

[01:58:32] He's not force sensitive.

[01:58:34] They've got George Seaboth as the as the one who's going to the bat the force.

[01:58:39] Yeah, outbound.

[01:58:40] But Thrawn is like this like like military tactician and the way they've done him in

[01:58:45] Ahsoka and the way they did him in Rebels was perfect.

[01:58:49] I agree.

[01:58:50] I see a lot of people complaining, oh, you don't see much.

[01:58:53] I'm like, well, same thing with Darth Vader.

[01:58:55] You don't see much of him when he's first introduced because that's what's creepy

[01:58:58] about him. You don't know what he's thinking.

[01:59:00] The thing is he's pulling the strings.

[01:59:02] That's what they're doing.

[01:59:05] Pulling the strings behind the scenes.

[01:59:07] I'm cool with any villain as long as I feel like they are involved in the scene

[01:59:12] and it's not just an actor hamming it up for shits and girls.

[01:59:16] I like I hate it when I see a Western and I don't understand why the outlaw is

[01:59:21] like a piece of shit.

[01:59:22] I want to understand, you know, did the other guy sleep with his wife?

[01:59:25] Did he get left for dead during the Civil War?

[01:59:27] I want to know what what's the mechanism of them.

[01:59:31] And if it's just I'm evil and I want to rape and pillage.

[01:59:34] Well, that doesn't mean anything.

[01:59:36] It's something to do. That's what it is.

[01:59:38] Oh my God.

[01:59:41] Yeah, because I needed something to do.

[01:59:45] Wow.

[01:59:47] I pillaged what am I doing today?

[01:59:49] I'm pillaging some more.

[01:59:51] What about tomorrow, boss?

[01:59:53] Oh, what's tomorrow? Wednesday.

[01:59:57] And that's where you ask that's where you nickname your henchman TK421.

[02:00:01] Yes.

[02:00:03] The first stormtrooper who Luke and Han dispatch.

[02:00:07] I always love how you can tell when you're a hardcore Star Wars fan if you

[02:00:10] know like the names of again going back to the background characters,

[02:00:13] but you know the guy who they disguise themselves as.

[02:00:16] So wait a minute, I got a question.

[02:00:19] When they dispose of where do they put the body?

[02:00:21] I know it never made any sense.

[02:00:23] It's got to be a very stinky Malayan valgum if he's there in.

[02:00:28] Unless he's like unless, you know, I see some people saying they didn't kill them.

[02:00:32] I'm like, of course they killed him.

[02:00:35] No, I think no, Star Wars doesn't have killing in it.

[02:00:38] Oh my God.

[02:00:39] I think they're like, they went around again and they found them and they're like,

[02:00:45] OK, they're in there.

[02:00:46] They're in there somewhere.

[02:00:47] It's also very impossible as to know who blasts the one guy who identifies them.

[02:00:54] Is it Han, who shoots the guy?

[02:00:56] Is it Luke or is it?

[02:00:58] It's Han.

[02:00:59] Okay.

[02:01:00] I'm getting that.

[02:01:02] The 30 plus year old plot holes figured out.

[02:01:05] It's a lot of people who have been

[02:01:09] not been resolved to my satisfaction.

[02:01:11] Remember in New Hope where.

[02:01:15] Where Obi-Wan is saying, he was saying,

[02:01:18] he's only in Imperial Stone, so that's precise.

[02:01:23] Yet in the Iran, see, they can't hit the broad side of a barn.

[02:01:26] So here's my theory.

[02:01:28] They were trying to shoot at something completely different.

[02:01:32] And the Jawas got it.

[02:01:34] I think they were trained by Red Shirts and that was training.

[02:01:38] But no, seriously, I think he's getting.

[02:01:41] I think he's having a bit of a memory

[02:01:42] lapse, he's getting them mixed up with the Clone Troopers.

[02:01:45] Yeah, I think so.

[02:01:47] Or here's here's the here's a crossover for you.

[02:01:50] They were trained by the same people who train Cobra.

[02:01:53] Oh my God.

[02:01:54] Oh, yeah.

[02:01:55] Cliff loves him some Cobra.

[02:01:57] I'm still.

[02:01:59] Have you heard?

[02:01:59] I'm talking about G.I.

[02:02:00] Go Cobra.

[02:02:01] Oh, OK.

[02:02:02] Well, even better.

[02:02:03] Cobra Commander.

[02:02:04] Yeah.

[02:02:05] Yeah.

[02:02:06] I imagine G.I.

[02:02:08] was the lone imagine Star Wars was the one.

[02:02:11] I'm sure you and me, Vader, we got a box man because I am going up with you.

[02:02:19] You remember.

[02:02:25] I'll do it now.

[02:02:27] I don't have time for this.

[02:02:30] But only if you bring back British Meredith.

[02:02:33] Oh, God, there's the G.I. Joe.

[02:02:36] You're a bomb.

[02:02:37] I am a bomb and only if he's only if he's that big, that greasy speed when you fight.

[02:02:44] Vader, that's your name is Yoda.

[02:02:46] My I want to take skin.

[02:02:49] Yeah, imagine if he's in Penguin form too.

[02:02:51] There you go.

[02:02:53] All right.

[02:02:54] I have a quick question.

[02:02:56] You need the Thrawn series and the aftermath trilogy, those six books.

[02:03:00] That's the essential.

[02:03:01] Is that what you're talking about, Tom?

[02:03:03] So it was three.

[02:03:05] Yeah, the first three from the Dark Ages, from the aftermath of sloppy seconds.

[02:03:09] Aftermath I like I mean, I read I read the first of the three.

[02:03:13] It was a good trilogy.

[02:03:14] But the original one is the one he wrote.

[02:03:17] That's now non-canon.

[02:03:18] And that's the ones that they're taking all the modern

[02:03:21] phelony ideas from with some mix.

[02:03:25] Three books, right? The Thrawn series.

[02:03:27] Yeah, OK. It's Air to the Empire.

[02:03:29] Is that right?

[02:03:30] So yeah, correct.

[02:03:31] Yep.

[02:03:32] OK, so the aftermath for dessert.

[02:03:35] Evidently. OK.

[02:03:37] Not really.

[02:03:38] I'm just kidding.

[02:03:40] But it does stink how they had to kind of that's how they kind of got off

[02:03:44] on the wrong foot when they were trying to divide it saying this is canon

[02:03:47] and that's not canon.

[02:03:48] It's like let them decide what's canon.

[02:03:50] Well, it's a different writer.

[02:03:52] OK. Yeah, I'm right.

[02:03:54] I get that idea of Disney coming in.

[02:03:56] I'm not pro-Disney by any chance, but it was absurd.

[02:03:59] And this is what comics have to do all the time, right?

[02:04:02] That's where we get Secret Wars and all the various things because things

[02:04:06] get insane and you want to bring in new readers, new watchers, new listeners,

[02:04:10] whatever the case may be.

[02:04:11] So you consolidate and then it expands, you consolidate and you go through these cycles.

[02:04:16] So as much as I don't like Disney, I actually had no problem with them

[02:04:19] being like pocket cannon starts now because now I'm going to be like, good.

[02:04:22] Now I know everything is canon.

[02:04:23] Whereas before, you had to read some pretty shitty books to be honest.

[02:04:26] Yeah, like I said, there were some

[02:04:28] rather adult stuff and some of the X-wing novels where I'm like this feels

[02:04:32] like an after school special.

[02:04:34] These guys are getting old personal.

[02:04:35] They're having sex.

[02:04:37] They're talking about donuts and other stuff.

[02:04:39] And Star Wars. What?

[02:04:40] OK. They're alcoholics.

[02:04:43] Right. And Luke drinks on hot.

[02:04:45] What the hell is that all about?

[02:04:47] All right. When he got shot down, the.

[02:04:51] Burn victims and all that shit.

[02:04:53] Oh my God, it's a firefighter special.

[02:04:55] No, no, the one Jedi got burned.

[02:05:00] And yeah, I think that's where Nicholas Cage comes in and says how to get burned.

[02:05:07] So you want to be a ghost rider?

[02:05:09] That's my oh, there you go.

[02:05:11] The Force is strong with Ghost Rider.

[02:05:12] So this has been a delight.

[02:05:14] All Cliff was even talking off air how Command and Conquer is totally Star Wars inspired.

[02:05:20] I mean, Wing Commander alone.

[02:05:22] Can I say it's expired, but I just love the Tim Curry's appearance.

[02:05:26] Oh yeah. That's one thing I got to say about Star Wars is that when it hit big

[02:05:30] also in the studios had to have their own version and some were good and some

[02:05:34] were bad like you had Disney doing the black hole.

[02:05:37] Some were so bad they were good.

[02:05:39] Roger Corbyn Paramount did Star Trek.

[02:05:41] The motion picture.

[02:05:42] Yeah, you know, Mario who was.

[02:05:46] Mario did laser blast.

[02:05:48] They did yeah, you know, all these crash.

[02:05:50] Star crash. Yeah.

[02:05:51] Yeah.

[02:05:52] Yeah.

[02:05:53] You know, and I was like sitting there and I was like, what was what was good?

[02:05:57] Starfighter is totally.

[02:05:59] Tron is totally.

[02:06:01] I mean, Matrix alone is totally a Star Wars franchise terminated franchise.

[02:06:06] And franchises started, you know, all these, you know, Superman went one.

[02:06:11] Now they were going to make two, you know, and it's like it's like I know Star Wars.

[02:06:15] Star Wars kind of is like the granddaddy and it's the best, you know,

[02:06:19] not that I could be jumping off the barrel here, but I'm going to say this.

[02:06:24] Star Wars started a lot of things that were great

[02:06:27] and just started some things that were bad.

[02:06:30] You know, like.

[02:06:32] I'm not going to say Star Trek.

[02:06:34] Yes, you can that.

[02:06:36] I think it's best to my when you talk about Star Wars for Star Trek,

[02:06:40] that Star Wars highs are the highest highs and they're low.

[02:06:43] Yes, well, it's low.

[02:06:44] Star Trek tends to sort of, you know, be in five or six across the board.

[02:06:48] But those yeah, Star Wars are things that I think Gil, you mentioned it too.

[02:06:52] It's like it kind of defined my life and it's been amazing and it's been awesome.

[02:06:57] There's some absolute shit, but painting is part of my love.

[02:07:01] It's part of that makes sense.

[02:07:02] Yeah, no, no, very true.

[02:07:04] My hate much like someone who's in a shitty slasher sequel.

[02:07:08] You're still going to want their autograph and want to know stories.

[02:07:11] There's something I think we're now getting to that repair phase where instead

[02:07:15] just doing snobby fan edits.

[02:07:17] Let's just know the history about these guys, how they became on some big

[02:07:20] spectacle. Yeah, I like that.

[02:07:23] My mirror. Yes, you are very good.

[02:07:26] I would say that today I've really changed my thinking because Jamie's point

[02:07:29] about like not Star Wars fans, but Star Wars movies fans, like fans of certain

[02:07:34] thing go there's a big difference between about that is less toxic.

[02:07:38] I think because that to even James's point, he was noticing how there's a lot

[02:07:43] of Lucas takes a lot of inspiration from his friend Coppola with the Godfather

[02:07:48] laying out the hero's journey and then the betrayals that follow.

[02:07:51] But yeah, you see in the Japanese films.

[02:07:56] Absolutely. It got us out of our ass and we just want to see what is this high

[02:08:00] new, you know, a Kira Kira Salah cinema that he's referencing.

[02:08:03] But to your point, Cliff and especially Jamie,

[02:08:07] to both of you guys's points, it's it does seem like it reminds us of what

[02:08:12] we even consider a good movie versus solid popcorn outing.

[02:08:16] And but I do see people blindly saying, yeah, I'm into Star Wars.

[02:08:20] Just like and claim I've seen The Dark Knight or Godfather because it's

[02:08:24] a nine out of 10 on IDB is like, yeah, sure.

[02:08:27] And what happens in it?

[02:08:28] Cliff notes, you know, but the thing I got to say too about Star Wars is that

[02:08:33] we came at the right time in the 70s because we were just getting out of Vietnam.

[02:08:39] Nixon was out of office.

[02:08:40] You know, we were kind of covering.

[02:08:43] Yeah, kind of recovering.

[02:08:45] And then also this movie comes out and

[02:08:47] everything just like kind of, you know, the whole youth culture kind of swung

[02:08:51] around it, you know, and that's the great thing about it.

[02:08:55] And guys like us who are and I'm not going to be ashamed to say we are nerds.

[02:09:00] We are geek. Oh yeah.

[02:09:02] And we don't we're not asses about it.

[02:09:06] We're not we're not ashamed of it, but I'm going to say this right now.

[02:09:12] We have we have touchstones and that is a major touchstone for us.

[02:09:18] You know, that story, that whole story.

[02:09:21] Luke's got to walk.

[02:09:22] Evil, good versus evil, rebellion versus, you know, a giant mechanical, you know,

[02:09:28] military machine, you know,

[02:09:30] a warrior telling an immature kid how to pony up.

[02:09:33] Yeah, the most important thing, blocking of trade routes.

[02:09:37] Yes.

[02:09:38] Yeah.

[02:09:40] And the Han Solo was a drug runner.

[02:09:43] Yeah, franchise.

[02:09:45] Can you say I hated the prequels?

[02:09:46] I saw him seven times each.

[02:09:48] You know, right.

[02:09:49] If it was a lot of that, even with these new movies,

[02:09:53] if it wasn't bad enough that you couldn't even talk about it, it is interesting how

[02:09:59] we're having to even remind ourselves what does bad movie mean?

[02:10:03] Yeah.

[02:10:05] And what is what is half and half mean?

[02:10:07] It's a generational thing like we're using mediocre here.

[02:10:11] And you've got those Star Wars.

[02:10:13] Yeah, it's like you can touch.

[02:10:15] You can talk to them about like these

[02:10:16] touchpoints that cross generations.

[02:10:19] They might like different movies, but they're all talking the same language.

[02:10:21] Yeah.

[02:10:22] And I think the great thing is I saw my my my grand-nephew

[02:10:27] a couple of years ago, his dad sat him down and my my niece sent me a picture

[02:10:34] of videos like we're starting him young and all of a sudden you see him.

[02:10:37] He's like with his dad and there's a picture and it was like a long time

[02:10:42] ago in a galaxy far, far away.

[02:10:43] And I went, I went, oh boy, the force is strong with this one.

[02:10:48] And I got him a lightsaber for his for his like second birthday.

[02:10:52] Oh my God.

[02:10:53] And he's like, he came up to me and said, you gave it to me.

[02:10:56] I'm like, yeah, I'm like, you got one.

[02:11:00] He's like, yeah.

[02:11:01] And then his brother dressed up as they dressed up as Kylo Ren.

[02:11:06] And he was like, give me a whole Kylo Ren the handout bit.

[02:11:08] And like, I'm like, all right.

[02:11:10] I told my wife, I said, if we go out to Ohio, we're bringing the lightsabers with us.

[02:11:15] And they're going to be freaked out when they see them

[02:11:18] because I bought lightsabers like I bought lightsabers from Saberworks.

[02:11:23] Oh, fancy ones.

[02:11:25] Yeah, yeah, I got to get new batteries though.

[02:11:27] I'm working the batteries.

[02:11:28] The batteries work.

[02:11:29] The batteries went out so I got to get new batteries for them to work with and stuff.

[02:11:33] So but yeah, I was like, I was like, oh shit, you know,

[02:11:36] they're going to be flipping out when they see this.

[02:11:38] So that's the great thing I got.

[02:11:40] You know, I got the lightsaber and I was like, OK, you know,

[02:11:45] I'm a gen I like my father before me, you know, and that's what's great.

[02:11:50] You have certain things you can look at and buy and be like, yeah,

[02:11:54] this is what this is the definition of being a geek.

[02:11:58] Yeah.

[02:12:00] I wanted to grab.

[02:12:01] I have telling me in high school who are the most popular people in high school.

[02:12:05] Oh, I love Star Wars.

[02:12:07] And I'm like, you never said a word about this.

[02:12:09] They're like, yeah, yeah, I didn't want to lose.

[02:12:11] I was kind of like not telling anybody about it.

[02:12:14] I'm like, you never told anyone about you could have.

[02:12:19] How? Why?

[02:12:20] What's why didn't you tell me?

[02:12:22] Yeah.

[02:12:23] Why can't you get laid and still be a sci-fi buff?

[02:12:26] I was just like, I'm telling you Star Wars.

[02:12:30] Friends, which she's like, she's like a cheerleader.

[02:12:33] She's like, oh my God, I love Star Wars.

[02:12:35] I'm like, I asked you out five times and you said no, no, you love.

[02:12:39] I put a picture of Star Wars up and you love it.

[02:12:41] Yeah.

[02:12:42] What's wrong with this world?

[02:12:44] OK, OK, that's because it is the beginning of the modern like nerd culture

[02:12:49] being not nerd.

[02:12:50] Yes. Yeah.

[02:12:51] I was going to say if I if when I went to high school,

[02:12:54] when I went in like the early 90s, late 80s, early 90s,

[02:12:59] if I was a geek, I was the same kind of if I were if geeks were taught,

[02:13:05] were treated then the way they're treated now.

[02:13:08] Yeah.

[02:13:09] You know, things would be

[02:13:12] a lot different, you know?

[02:13:14] I mean, it almost gets me mad because there's like a whole culture of like

[02:13:20] only fans, girls, just everything is gamer girls and gamer culture

[02:13:25] and Star Wars culture.

[02:13:28] And it's like there's girls everywhere with it.

[02:13:30] And I'm like, what a fuck real better, Jamie?

[02:13:33] Just say you're a rush fan and people still treat you like awful dirt.

[02:13:36] That's why we need to nerd again.

[02:13:39] I'm like, yes, like Russian things walk away and like what?

[02:13:42] I thought we were I thought nerd stuff was cool.

[02:13:45] No, no, you just know.

[02:13:47] No, I guess it's like it's like we can thank Chuck Lurie and the big bang

[02:13:51] theory for taking us all out of the out of the, you know, the best show.

[02:13:57] Yeah.

[02:13:59] Yeah.

[02:14:00] Never a lot of cool guy things.

[02:14:01] Third stuff is

[02:14:04] those are like Dungeons and Dragons.

[02:14:05] That's true. Dungeons and Dragons still pretty nerdy.

[02:14:08] Yeah, I got an actual even that's it.

[02:14:11] All that stuff is kind of hit it out and it's just too late.

[02:14:14] You know, yeah.

[02:14:15] And I'm OK with that.

[02:14:16] I mean, honestly, kids shouldn't be bullied, but I knew what you mean.

[02:14:19] It was nice finding like and someone said earlier, like you just say certain things.

[02:14:23] You're you're my you're my person.

[02:14:25] You know what I mean?

[02:14:27] But the problem is you don't meet that anymore.

[02:14:30] I mean, not the fact it's actually a problem.

[02:14:31] It's a good thing.

[02:14:32] It's good not to be ostracized and that's fine.

[02:14:35] You know, and there's a lot of it.

[02:14:38] That's the only distraction.

[02:14:40] How's your dead tongue with fine colors?

[02:14:43] Kids love it when you put that on.

[02:14:45] Yeah. It's a 12 minute song.

[02:14:47] Yeah, those kids.

[02:14:49] Better that than singing kids bought version of Star Wars songs.

[02:14:53] Oh, yeah.

[02:14:55] Or it's not strong with that one.

[02:14:57] This has been a delight.

[02:14:59] We also got to talk about the different video games.

[02:15:01] So that was a cool side segment.

[02:15:03] I think we just detoxified Star Wars.

[02:15:06] Yeah. And by the way, if we ever want to friend each other on Facebook,

[02:15:09] please go ahead. I mean, yeah, I'll link you guys out.

[02:15:13] I put it in your chat.

[02:15:14] Yeah, everyone meet up.

[02:15:15] We don't have social media, so we'll figure it out.

[02:15:18] Yeah, even if he's on.

[02:15:19] Well, you're not.

[02:15:20] You're not a real nerd.

[02:15:22] I don't know.

[02:15:23] Just be warned if you do friend me, you'll occasionally get more rush.

[02:15:28] That's that in mind.

[02:15:31] Yeah, please affirm me on Facebook and Instagram both because

[02:15:36] I always love to talk about just, I mean, not only Star Wars, but, you know,

[02:15:40] right?

[02:15:41] You know, yeah.

[02:15:43] Yeah. And like I said, I think James is going to do it.

[02:15:46] Put everything in the chat.

[02:15:47] Yeah, yeah.

[02:15:47] Yeah, I'll link you guys also to your different shows.

[02:15:52] I'll let you do your.

[02:15:53] Yeah, more beautiful.

[02:15:56] Oh, he's beautiful.

[02:15:58] Oh, thank you all.

[02:17:16] Me and my co-host Ray ignore anything important happening in the outside world.

[02:17:20] And debate fictional battles between characters from comics, movies and video games.

[02:17:24] We got a new show every week and almost always am I the winner?

[02:17:27] Not true, Ray.

[02:17:29] In the past, we've discussed such matches as Captain America versus Darth Vader,

[02:17:33] Solid Snake versus the Iron Giant, classic matchups like Robocop versus Terminator

[02:17:39] and even the Muppets versus Sesame Street.
