The battle of the bots concludes but this time instead of just duking it out with Tom Servo & Crow T. Robot, we added Gypsy to the bracket to make it an even more epic geeky debate.
Mike, Teresa & Gil are back and giddy as usual but we also mark the guest debut on the show for filmbuff himself, Jamie Ray (Fave Five from Fans Podcast)!

[00:00:00] We're the winners first here in the end, alright? It's a chapter of review show.
[00:00:25] It's a chapter of review show.
[00:00:28] Oh, chapter of review show.
[00:00:47] I'm the host, not the DJ. I'm your host, Sully.
[00:00:49] Here I am with Misty's.
[00:00:52] Teresa Lee, welcome back.
[00:00:54] Hello, thank you.
[00:00:56] Gil Palmer, how are you buddy?
[00:00:58] Hello.
[00:00:59] And Mike, not Nelson, you can sing.
[00:01:02] Yeah, my god, Nelson. Introducing to the show on one of many guest spots is Jamie Ray from
[00:01:09] favorite five from fans podcast. Welcome.
[00:01:14] No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, guys here watch that live with me I can tell. Oh man so we're recording this out of sequence but
[00:01:29] it's going to be put in some kind of order so we were just talking about this other mystery
[00:01:33] science leaders specialism could put together and I just figured hey how about we you know we're
[00:01:38] obviously we're going to talk about all the other the mad's are back with Frank Kana the
[00:01:42] riff track stuff the cinematic Titanic but one thing that comes up in so many of these conversations is what team are you referring to?
[00:01:50] Which of the mocking androids do you get behind?
[00:01:55] Which of these bots do you find the funniest or just relate to with their persona?
[00:01:59] And we got, again, the Talking Gumball Machine, Tom Servo.
[00:02:04] We got the robotic chicken crow and then we got the vacuum the talking gumball machine, Tom Serbo, we got the robotic chicken crow.
[00:02:06] And then we got the vacuum cleaner herself, gypsy.
[00:02:10] Oh, gypsy gypsy.
[00:02:12] Yeah.
[00:02:13] I do like the fact now that gypsy has a woman's voice, but thank you.
[00:02:19] It's no longer a guy pretending to have a voice.
[00:02:22] Yeah.
[00:02:23] It was not a long a fair voice. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It was kind of awkward and predictable.
[00:02:28] Yeah, she does make me want to watch the newer episodes more
[00:02:31] because they've given her some really clever lines.
[00:02:34] And they can actually digitally insert her in the theater more.
[00:02:37] Yeah, she jumps in.
[00:02:38] Yes.
[00:02:39] Yeah.
[00:02:39] Yeah.
[00:02:40] She does.
[00:02:40] She loves the reps and episodes.
[00:02:41] Yeah.
[00:02:42] And we'll mention to Canbot even tilting his head more
[00:02:45] and the robotic band they got there.
[00:02:48] So we're gonna circle around.
[00:02:50] Obviously you guys are all hardcore fans of this show
[00:02:53] and everything, but so the newbie goes first.
[00:02:56] So Jamie, out of all these VHS recordings
[00:03:00] and staying laid up instead of studying college papers, when did you
[00:03:07] join the Gizmoplex? Well, you know, I never had sci-fi and stuff and the whole VHS. So I was a
[00:03:15] latecomer to it. I probably have only watched it for the last 15 years maybe. Yeah, and so I really, and I don't know if this is controversial, but I'm so a mic guy.
[00:03:32] Then I am any of the other guys.
[00:03:35] That's fine. I think everyone's past the whole.
[00:03:38] What team are you with the hose? Cause everyone, you know, and apples and oranges in that area is like yeah exactly that's how
[00:03:46] kind of feel I mean Joel of course was the originator and and set the pace and I was the lead writer
[00:03:51] who'd been just stepped in and then Jonah I mean the first joke he made was I think this is going
[00:03:56] to be a daughter who scenario where where's comes the worst I get to be the fog guy because I'm
[00:04:02] told I'm not like Mike or Joel right exactly you, and they're they're doing a great job with it.
[00:04:08] And I think it was honored to interview and she she's just awesome because she comes from the
[00:04:12] whole Jim Henson workshop and just has the whole just on the spot just comedic timing.
[00:04:18] Yeah. Yeah. They're great. So anyway, so I fall into that range and I will say of the three, I'm probably more of a gypsy.
[00:04:26] I love Tom Servo. I love mirror Tom Servo. There you go. All of them.
[00:04:32] I'll tell you what, my favorite host is Trace Plague. Oh yeah.
[00:04:35] This is the first bad guy you see.
[00:04:39] Gypsy's just funny and she's sweet and innocent. But then every once in a while you get that
[00:04:47] you know there's a lot more to her plastic surface there and I had that flashlight growing up so I'm
[00:04:54] just getting into the traction you know a big 12-volt battery oh yeah so that is a flashlight okay yeah
[00:05:06] That is a flashlight. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So I I fall I fall right there. Yeah. That is awesome. So, um,
[00:05:10] which robot do you think you identify the most with?
[00:05:14] I have these of this trio. Like which one I think you said before we offline, but I'll just let the viewers know.
[00:05:21] Yeah. So, so I would, I guess I,
[00:05:26] if I had a team it would be gypsy,
[00:05:28] but I definitely identify with Tom Servo,
[00:05:33] the cracking jokes all the time.
[00:05:35] You know, that's just my thing.
[00:05:38] I'm always looking, you know, to find the humor.
[00:05:42] We've got enough depressing stuff in our lives
[00:05:44] in the real world. So I'm always trying to make someone live. You don't want to be a danger to find the humor. We've got enough depressing stuff in our lives in the real world.
[00:05:45] So I'm always trying to make someone live.
[00:05:47] Don't want to be a danger to yourself and others.
[00:05:48] No, no, not another riff.
[00:05:52] No de-pirting. No more of that.
[00:05:54] No, not at all. Not at all. So I've got to say that.
[00:05:57] Now, if I had to pick in the wide range of robots, if we go in there yet,
[00:06:02] I always loved the nanites.
[00:06:09] Yeah, they were a lot of fun, you know, I'm sorry, I think back revenge of the creature, if I'm not mistaken.
[00:06:12] And then there were on a couple of different shows. But I just
[00:06:15] loved big Star Trek fan. And so when I saw those, they were
[00:06:18] kind of kind of reminded me like of the exocops and kind of, you
[00:06:22] know, so, so I love love those two but I guess if I
[00:06:26] identify yeah yeah Wesley Crusher had an anide episode yeah I remember that.
[00:06:31] Exactly.
[00:06:32] Yeah it was a double I mean just like Bobo and the Aves blowing up the
[00:06:35] planet they had so many star-tracked Twilight Zone and they really like
[00:06:40] messing with Mike's hair I'll tell you that. We'll return after these messages.
[00:06:45] MUSIC
[00:06:48] Hey, it's Brent Pope, the host of Brentfist with Brent Pope.
[00:06:50] You've seen me on some of your favorite TV shows saying things
[00:06:52] like, give it up, Jimmy.
[00:06:54] You've got to sync this put to win.
[00:06:55] On Brentfist with Brent Pope, I sit down with guests

[00:07:09] So dig in, it's Brentfist time.
[00:07:12] Listen at Brentfist.com, Apple Podcast James Gavsian on The Who Would Win Show, me and my co-host, Ray, ignore anything
[00:07:26] important happening in the outside world, and debate fictional battles between characters
[00:07:29] from comics, movies, and video games.
[00:07:31] We got a new show every week, and almost always, am I the winner?
[00:07:35] Yeah, not true, Ray.
[00:07:36] In the past, we've discussed such matches as Captain America vs Darth Vader, Solid Snake
[00:07:41] vs the Iron Giant, Classic ups like Robocop versus
[00:07:45] Terminator and even the Muppets versus Sesame Street.
[00:07:49] That one was crazy.
[00:07:51] So if you're a fan of geek culture and love a spirited debate, check out the hood wind
[00:07:55] show wherever you get your podcasts or check us out at hoodwindshow.com.
[00:07:59] Yes, it can go anywhere with that.
[00:08:02] It's hair being crazy.
[00:08:06] So, Atreza has been a minute.
[00:08:07] I think I know where he firmly are,
[00:08:10] but which robot team are you?
[00:08:14] Yeah, I've always been Team Crow
[00:08:16] because he's like the insecure creative type on the show.
[00:08:24] I identify because I want to make stuff and I have general Earth versus soup.
[00:08:46] Slithering bowl of California cornucopia vegetable jubilee.
[00:08:53] He doesn't think what does the audience want.
[00:08:56] He thinks what is my message?
[00:08:58] What do I have to make?
[00:08:59] And then, oh my gosh, nobody knows what this is.
[00:09:02] Being judged.
[00:09:03] Yeah, that is a good point. Nobody knows what this is being judged.
[00:09:08] Yeah, that is a good point.
[00:09:18] All together, it's interesting to see how they just kind of vary not only by era, but just
[00:09:25] random predicament, let alone what are the movie just pulls out the worst of them that day.
[00:09:34] Uh man uh so Gil uh what would you say is your personal like go-to bot like you would just want every figurine or poster of them? Uh pro like I said pro would be it with uh trace bell you
[00:09:41] although like I said I like what Hampton Yout. Yout, I never get his name right.
[00:09:45] Yout.
[00:09:47] Hampton, Yout?
[00:09:48] Yeah.
[00:09:48] Yeah.
[00:09:50] I like what he's been doing on it.
[00:09:52] And then I can't get the actor's name, but, you know,
[00:09:55] like I said, yeah, even Bill Corbett,
[00:09:59] I even like what he's done with it, with Pro.
[00:10:02] Especially when they wrote that convention,
[00:10:04] like having a voice off basically.
[00:10:06] Yeah, well, you know, and Bill Corbett was a little bit more,
[00:10:11] his sarcasm seemed to have more of an edge to it,
[00:10:15] especially when, you know, he'd say things that would be like,
[00:10:18] oh, is that okay to say on TV kind of thing?
[00:10:21] Yeah, that instances, there's at least two or three instances
[00:10:24] I can think of. Oh, especially in the movie one of them just fly out just floods out a shit.
[00:10:31] Really.
[00:10:35] Mike, how about you have. It's a crow and server. It's so close. Servo, he's got a fine singing voice.
[00:10:46] That gives him a little edge.
[00:10:48] He's had several numbers where he sings. I'm talking about.
[00:10:50] Not to be confused with the rapper, Mr. Servon.
[00:10:53] Right.
[00:10:54] Talking about Kevin Murphy years. Yeah.
[00:10:57] Oh, yeah. And, um, and he's more of the intellectual crows like the, the
[00:11:02] class clown mischief maker and.
[00:11:08] And.
[00:11:10] Servals more intellectual.
[00:11:12] Oh yeah.
[00:11:13] Clever.
[00:11:14] So this is a weird.
[00:11:16] They're very close enough.
[00:11:18] Oh, it is.
[00:11:20] It's so neck and neck.
[00:11:21] It's not even funny.
[00:11:23] Yeah.
[00:11:24] This is a presidential election. That'd be actually cool with whatever the outcome.
[00:11:28] So, yeah, growing up, I
[00:11:31] I know my siblings were definitely all more into servo and hot take.
[00:11:35] I actually didn't mind J Elvis's voice over before Kevin immortalized it
[00:11:40] because I was just like, hey, you know, they didn't know what they were doing
[00:11:42] the first year.
[00:11:43] He had the total confidence. I like his radio DJ approach.
[00:11:48] Don't worry.
[00:11:49] He originated.
[00:11:49] It's true. Yeah, he would kind of open up with like a disjockey kind of just get everyone rowdy.
[00:11:57] Yeah, no, so I was kind of started out as a circle guy and I always liked gypsies musings,
[00:12:02] especially how she had a crush on movie star Richard
[00:12:05] Baysard who surprisingly wasn't in any of these movies, but she secretly was like,
[00:12:09] still in what you're going to get me to watch this with you.
[00:12:11] It's dreamy man is in this movie.
[00:12:14] Yeah, no, so I kind of, despite his cynicism and kind of warmonger attitude, just his cartoonish
[00:12:22] niz and just wanting to stretch himself literally. Like sometimes he has
[00:12:26] just ginormous legs. I kind of just landed on the chicken himself, crow. I just kind of, he just
[00:12:35] actually made enough to actually talk like a real person. And like you guys kind of echoed,
[00:12:39] he was really good at just kind of be musing or having dry wit mixed in with,
[00:12:47] oh dear, something's gonna break on this satellite, isn't it?
[00:12:50] But yeah, I mean, you really can't go wrong
[00:12:56] with any of these pecs, but which is why it's even harder
[00:12:58] because it's like who do we land on in the ultimate?
[00:13:01] But yeah, surprisingly, most of us is like,
[00:13:04] we've all kind of switched sides at one point.
[00:13:09] But you know, it does go to show that that they all work together well as a group
[00:13:13] because if you just had one or just had the other, it wouldn't be the same feel to
[00:13:17] it. So they've got to play off. And it feels like sometimes Crow wins, sometimes
[00:13:21] Tom wins, you know, keeping score, but it's always like like brothers almost.
[00:13:28] They kind of are if not cousins. Yeah, because circle will start the whole just mute like an invention exchange or just telling crow no no that's a bad idea. I was often lying a spaceship or already dressed in a ridiculous, you know, form it.
[00:13:47] There's the movie, the movie movie, the finder.
[00:13:51] It when he opens up with crowed, you know, poking a hole in the ship.
[00:13:55] Yeah.
[00:13:56] You know, the crow's like, Mike, you wonder where he's at? What he's doing?
[00:14:01] You know, I can't remember exactly what he said.
[00:14:07] But
[00:14:09] Britole all died. Wow, even had it underlined.
[00:14:12] Yep. No, no, no, no, no, from his own stuff. That's right.
[00:14:16] And definitely a money pipe on Esquemom and it definitely feels
[00:14:19] like he must be dictating.
[00:14:22] He was he'll even do that when he's in the movies. And it is funny how they all kind
[00:14:28] of have their go to while Corbett is kind of version is kind of more just kind of letting
[00:14:34] reminding the hero they're kind of not the brightest and traces crow is interesting
[00:14:39] in that he kind of just lets out a bunch of just like impressions of the elephant man
[00:14:44] or McCloud. He kind of just lets out a bunch of just like impressions of the elephant man or the cloud
[00:14:51] Yeah, I saw him in a live show. He called it something else. He called him not
[00:14:54] impersonations, but
[00:15:01] Sound yeah, how much of that is trace dog and-Tog and versus Trace as Cro-Tog. It's awesome.
[00:15:06] Have they gotten rid of Canbot in the newer episodes?
[00:15:11] Or have they multiplied Canbot?
[00:15:13] It's kind of like they're a lot of them.
[00:15:15] No, it's not one kid.
[00:15:16] Yeah, like Servo, they got a bunch of them.
[00:15:20] OK.
[00:15:20] Because Canbot actually did do a riff or two.
[00:15:23] Do you remember what they were? During the weird like he was like, I forget who voiced him too.
[00:15:30] Was it like Paul Japlin or Pearl?
[00:15:32] Well, he didn't talk. He didn't talk, but he did a bit of visual thing twice.
[00:15:36] That's what it was.
[00:15:37] One where he was crying in one.
[00:15:40] Yeah.
[00:15:42] And then side hackers with the standings or whatever.
[00:15:46] There was kind of charty put up.
[00:15:49] I'd have to look at it.
[00:15:51] Yeah.
[00:15:52] Was boredom versus movie.
[00:15:55] Oh, okay.
[00:15:57] Okay.
[00:15:58] Yeah, which was quite okay.
[00:16:00] I was just reading that new book.
[00:16:02] Look on a mystery science scene or the and he mentioned it there, Arthur.
[00:16:06] Right.
[00:16:07] Yeah.
[00:16:08] Yeah. The great and powerful Google says episode 13, 13, which was the Turkey Day marathon
[00:16:17] was the last time Canbot appeared.
[00:16:19] Okay. Oh, okay.
[00:16:22] And so, yeah, he does show up in the newer seasons. Okay. Yes.
[00:16:27] Cool. 13 is gizmo plex right? They had 11 12 was Netflix. So.
[00:16:32] Is he in the do they do the robot roll call on the new theme? I can't remember.
[00:16:37] I thought they did. Yeah. So they must. I guess they do a GPC. Okay. They must have camp on in there. Yeah. Okay. All right. Just
[00:16:46] a little. I got off the track there a little bit. Wait a minute. No, he's it. We got to give
[00:16:49] him a little credit there. Yeah. Robots robot. Yeah. Dude. What do you think about the new robots
[00:16:57] they're on in? Like, I can't remember their names, but ones like the piano playing Muppet.
[00:17:06] Rowley. Rowley.
[00:17:08] Rowley, yeah.
[00:17:09] And you're in Schwund's Emily.
[00:17:11] Emily, really?
[00:17:12] Yep.
[00:17:13] I just liked how they would actually sometimes invade the theater.
[00:17:17] I know some people weren't keen on that season but I just thought, hey, at least you're trying
[00:17:20] something different and new instead of just let's see what host we can have
[00:17:25] who has a hot take on a movie, you know?
[00:17:29] Yeah, I've only gone through the newer stuff
[00:17:33] once, maybe twice.
[00:17:34] So I haven't really,
[00:17:36] you really gotta watch them about 12 or 13 times
[00:17:38] before you can make an honest decision.
[00:17:40] Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, unless it's like, again,
[00:17:44] like Star Trek where it's like, okay, so it
[00:17:46] twice still don't like it or I still love it and then just say, okay, it sort of mortalized
[00:17:50] me now.
[00:17:51] Now that shows always though, multilay, though, you can watch them over and over.
[00:17:57] You still pick up stuff.
[00:17:58] Plus as you get older, you know, what a reference means when you're five, you know, five years
[00:18:02] older that you miss the first time to, you know. There's so much going on with those shows. It's just, yeah.
[00:18:09] I was telling them for always putting on a show. Yeah. I watched it the first time, you know,
[00:18:15] pretty much by myself, anybody I was involved with didn't, didn't really care for it. So I was
[00:18:21] usually watching them by myself and then my wife, we've been together
[00:18:30] going on 14 years now. And I enjoyed introducing them to her because she really seemed to enjoy them. Yeah, that's cool. Have you ever talked about what your favorite episode is?
[00:18:38] I know we were kind of doing kind of just like by era, like one of the best ones.
[00:18:43] Yeah, we've been off track as I've been battling as Sony and all
[00:18:48] other kinds of things. But over that now, but yeah, it's a good
[00:18:53] point. What does one do to kind of just keep it up and running?
[00:19:00] And I've always loved going to the live shows. Yeah.
[00:19:05] So we've got it on, we've got the channel,
[00:19:08] the riff track channel here.
[00:19:10] And then on my TV in the front,
[00:19:11] it's got the Mystery Science Theater channel.
[00:19:14] So there's always one on, yeah.
[00:19:16] And they're free.
[00:19:17] You know, you just gotta have the Pluto app
[00:19:19] or I forget the front one maybe.
[00:19:21] We go to sleep to them on Fridays and Saturdays.
[00:19:23] Oh yeah. Yeah, it'll be playing while we're sleeping too. We'll wake up to it
[00:19:29] because we'll wake up periodically through the night and we're like, oh, there's that episode.
[00:19:33] Yeah. So, of course, I got to ask because it's favorites. What's your go-to favorite episode?
[00:19:40] You just got to watch one.
[00:19:42] She just got to watch one.
[00:19:49] My Ruby space mute me, I think. I'm tired with that and pod people.
[00:19:52] Space.
[00:19:54] It was on yesterday.
[00:19:55] To reset looking looking it up again.
[00:20:01] All three robots have really strong moments in the first
[00:20:05] camera movie. Yes, oh my god, it wasn't that bad.
[00:20:09] During the Anderson Serba's song to Tibby is in that one.
[00:20:15] Yeah, a lot of it.
[00:20:16] Yeah, it is hard.
[00:20:19] I can't pick out of here. I have almost had to go the first one I watched, which was
[00:20:24] King Dinosaur.
[00:20:26] Oh, there you go.
[00:20:26] I got it.
[00:20:27] I'm gonna run.
[00:20:28] Yeah, cause I was flipping channels a couple times
[00:20:32] and ran across it and watched for a couple of seconds ago.
[00:20:34] This is dumb, but then you, I went back to it.
[00:20:38] Okay, that was the episode.
[00:20:41] I actually sat and watched the whole thing.
[00:20:43] Like I tuned in late, but during the short, but that's when I didn't, I never not watched
[00:20:51] it again after that.
[00:20:52] So then it started trying to catch up on all the ones I missed.
[00:20:56] It's funny which one.
[00:20:57] So breaking data source, probably my favorite just for, you know, because the fact that the
[00:21:01] one that I first saw, you know, right.
[00:21:04] Yeah. Pulled in. the fact that it's the one that I first saw, you know, right? You know,
[00:21:12] another one would be a Puma man because it has such a greatest American hero vibe to it. Yeah, right.
[00:21:17] Oh, man.
[00:21:17] You know, one of my favorites and it's it's kind of got a robot centric
[00:21:24] part to it is, um, it it is werewolf or Arizona werewolf
[00:21:29] yeah yeah where Crow bites Mike and he becomes aware of the
[00:21:36] pro. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. And then I just I just recently did a show on favorite werewolves.
[00:21:46] Yes, you did. She was. Yeah, she was the one of my favorite werewolves were
[00:21:52] waofed. Um, he just he did it. But that one, anytime it's on wherever it is,
[00:21:58] I stop and finish it out. It's just so bad.
[00:22:01] Is your intention? Yes, it does.
[00:22:04] I really want to try. I really want to try to find the uncut version of that.
[00:22:09] Just because I want to see the what's not in there.
[00:22:12] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:22:13] There's not much. I know in one version, they had some nudity, but I think it's just like overseas, but for the funny how it does make you curious about these movies that while they are far from highbrow, it's.
[00:22:30] You kind of, it gives you better appreciation on all these cheesy independent and just do it yourself kind of movies too. It's like, hey, that could be me in 20 years.
[00:22:40] That's right.
[00:22:41] What I tell what I take over the grain of salt or what I take over the honor. Yeah, whatever gets me in the door, man. That's right. What I take what I take with a grain of salt or what I take it with a honor. Yeah, whatever gets me in the door, man. That's right. Where well is that the one with the
[00:22:51] that is absolutely fascinating. Is that that one? Yes, the woman. Yeah. Yeah, that's absolutely
[00:22:58] fascinating. Yeah. It's so like, yeah. Yeah. Acid. Yeah. Like she knows you're not a fascinating means
[00:23:06] where she reads what you did.
[00:23:07] Yeah.
[00:23:08] It does have a troll too kind of vibe where whoever they hired
[00:23:11] English was not their first language.
[00:23:13] And probably not even second.
[00:23:16] Yeah.
[00:23:16] Whoever was doing the moderating did not pick this out.
[00:23:22] I would say another one though is it's got to be Jack Frost.
[00:23:26] And that's, that's more for the movie than the, of course, the whole river dance part
[00:23:32] is fantastic, but it's such a crazy movie.
[00:23:37] Yeah.
[00:23:38] I just, I'll watch that one.
[00:23:39] The same thing.
[00:23:40] Oh, that's that.
[00:23:41] Come out.
[00:23:42] That's that Finnish movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. With the with the, um, the Baba, Baba
[00:23:48] Yaga, where the house stands up on the chicken legs and spins around. Oh, no, she's not gonna
[00:23:53] kick again. Yeah, that works. Yeah. Good stuff. Good stuff. Another one of my favorites is Time of the Apes when Crow's pronouncing on the fashion.
[00:24:09] I'm always looking for Japanese Colonel Sanders in any of the Japanese movies.
[00:24:14] He's maybe a government scientist or something. I don't know.
[00:24:18] First episode I ever saw all the way through. Yeah.
[00:24:21] It has that effect on it. It's really, it's like, of course, someone would make a movie like this.
[00:24:28] And it was a TV show originally for that.
[00:24:30] Right. Right.
[00:24:33] Even then to just be ambitious and try and make a plot out of something that's a very dense story.
[00:24:41] Oh, man.
[00:24:43] Not as whereby Planet of the Ap apes in any way, right?
[00:24:47] No way, shape or form.
[00:24:48] No way.
[00:24:50] Are they both monkeys?
[00:24:52] No, that's what a coincidence.
[00:24:55] But the original planet of the apes was a Japanese novel.
[00:24:59] But was it before it was American movies?
[00:25:02] All right.
[00:25:02] It's French, I believe.
[00:25:04] All right. But I thought it was Cobo Abbe.
[00:25:08] No, I'm.
[00:25:09] Am I wrong?
[00:25:10] There could be two of them, but I
[00:25:11] know the planet of the Apes novel was by a French.
[00:25:16] Yeah, I heard of the French connection for that.
[00:25:20] But yeah.
[00:25:20] No pun.
[00:25:21] Now, there could have been a movie.
[00:25:23] That was coming.
[00:25:23] Or the Charlton Hested version. Yeah, they could have done that.
[00:25:31] I'll appear Bill. I can't pronounce his name. No, there you go.
[00:25:35] You know, 1963 novel, but then Rod Sterling worked on it too. Right.
[00:25:40] There was the comic book crossover they did where they used an unused sterling
[00:25:46] script where they had a Captain Kirk cross over he could say they recently did a calm
[00:25:53] and planet of the apes crossover.
[00:25:54] Did they really?
[00:25:55] Oh, did marble officiate this?
[00:25:59] No, it was.
[00:26:01] Yeah, Dan, a gold did a Dan. Did a little.
[00:26:05] Great novel.
[00:26:06] Well, then he did a historical sketch where he was doing a fundraiser where he was playing
[00:26:11] Dr. Zios.
[00:26:12] Oh, he's got a he's got a YouTube talk show where he's doctors is.
[00:26:17] Oh, that's cool.
[00:26:19] Yeah, it's like a eight.
[00:26:20] It's like the eight to 12, 15 minute show.
[00:26:24] He puts out. He's done about 15, 30 of them.
[00:26:27] Yeah, I've heard about that, but I have to.
[00:26:29] Hang in with Dr. Z, yeah.
[00:26:30] Yes.
[00:26:31] Yes.
[00:26:32] So, yeah, it's really,
[00:26:34] but if you watch his Facebook posts,
[00:26:37] he puts himself as Dr. Zas and all these old,
[00:26:40] like sitting around burr rattles and stuff, you know,
[00:26:43] this is funny stuff.
[00:26:44] Someone had to do it. like sitting around burr rattles and stuff, you know, funny stuff.
[00:26:45] Someone had to do it.
[00:26:48] Anyway, yeah.
[00:26:49] We were talking about the robots. All right.
[00:26:51] No, it's fine. But that's all.
[00:26:54] Well, I thought the show goes to it.
[00:26:56] He keeps going off on these tangents.
[00:26:58] That's what's fun about it.
[00:26:59] Yeah.
[00:27:00] That's why I did it. Yeah. Totally.
[00:27:02] To be in the.
[00:27:03] Yeah.
[00:27:04] What's the name of the actor that does. That's why I did it. Yeah, totally to be in the yeah.
[00:27:08] What's the name of the actor that does
[00:27:15] Tom's servo for the for the Jonah episodes? I've seen him in TV before but I can't think of his name. Oh
[00:27:26] Baron Vaughn. Yeah, he plays the time guy too. Yeah. Yeah, I really enjoy what he's been doing with Servo. Mm-hmm.
[00:27:27] He's been on everything from Grayson Frankie.
[00:27:32] And I was fortunate enough before I caught up and sold a new MST to see him on one of
[00:27:38] those showtime, like, multi-comic specials.
[00:27:42] He did one that had Dion Cole from Conan, a bunch
[00:27:45] of others and just killed it. It didn't even have to resort to any profanity or shock value.
[00:27:50] I was dying. I was like this guy. He's got what cut out for him. That is definitely
[00:27:56] his number one. Yeah, it's just awesome how many careers have been made by it, low loan, how many have just.
[00:28:06] Well, he already kind of had one before the guy that did Tom Servo.
[00:28:11] Oh, yeah, Baron definitely had one, but just he's so great when you even hear him on just
[00:28:16] podcasts, just talk about anything, life, economics, politics.
[00:28:23] He doesn't really get into as much racial
[00:28:25] comedies you would think he would. But if you want to, he
[00:28:27] looks, oh, we have a very mature conversation on, he just
[00:28:30] reminds me very much about you should Tyler is like, Hey, I'm
[00:28:32] black and I'm a geek.
[00:28:35] I mean, come on, he was on lower decks. I mean, more geeky
[00:28:39] can you be? That's true too. Yeah, that was a good voice over.
[00:28:42] I could I couldn't believe it at him. And some of the voices are funny to look out for, because they always zap you when you
[00:28:49] least expect it. It was even whackier when they had freaking Jillian Jacobs from community,
[00:28:57] you know, Brida. And they actually kind of drew her character and it almost exactly like how she
[00:29:02] looks like in real life. So I was like, interesting, because everyone else does not look like how they look like
[00:29:07] in real life.
[00:29:08] Speaking, speaking of robots, you made me think of the exo comp and lower decks.
[00:29:12] In the paper.
[00:29:13] That girl is hilarious.
[00:29:15] Yeah.
[00:29:16] Yeah.
[00:29:17] That was wild.
[00:29:18] For those who don't know, lower decks is basically the archer south part version of
[00:29:23] the story.
[00:29:24] More PG 13 though. those who don't know, Loverdax is basically the archer south part version of
[00:29:26] more PG 13 though.
[00:29:33] And it has a new season coming out unlike we won't we won't name prodigy.
[00:29:40] Yeah, and prodigy was interesting because it's like it was even though it got pulled out recently.
[00:29:49] I got into it with some Star Trek guys who were just like, Oh, that's more Star Trek might this more Star Wars space pirates. The Star Trek ship. But the beauty of track is that there is, there's one formula with a
[00:29:54] different style. So you don't just like the lawnmowers. You don't have to go
[00:29:58] with just one or two or like it all. But or seven. Right. And unlike some of
[00:30:03] the other shows that do crossovers, you can see them appearing on each other's show without killing the
[00:30:08] flow or feeling like they don't belong with the whole connective universe.
[00:30:13] It's not like in CIS where it's like, yeah, there's no way these guys are in the same room.
[00:30:16] They're on a different computer screen.
[00:30:18] There's going to be a crossover between lower decks and strange new worlds.
[00:30:22] I think you just came out.
[00:30:23] Just came out. It, they burst into song.
[00:30:26] Yeah.
[00:30:27] I didn't know how they were going to do it at first if they were going to have them being an
[00:30:30] alternate timeline. They're like, nope, they're in live action form for this because we drew them just like the actors.
[00:30:35] Yeah. And they look to the live action versions of them. I mean, they're spot on.
[00:30:40] Yeah, Jake Quaid has been on the boys and doing this back and forth. And the other voice actress is also just hysterical.
[00:30:46] She's done a lot of behind the scenes writing for daily show type stuff.
[00:30:50] Oh, really?
[00:30:51] Yeah.
[00:30:52] I was mainly familiar with the guy who plays her mother,
[00:30:55] the captain, because she has done a lot of TV and voiceovers to us.
[00:30:59] Yeah.
[00:31:00] Yeah.
[00:31:01] Oh, I'm loving it.
[00:31:02] And it's a treat for the eyes.
[00:31:03] I mean, just everywhere you look, there's something going on behind the scenes. Yeah. Oh, I'm loving it. And it's a treat for the eyes. I mean, just everywhere you look, there's something going on behind
[00:31:06] scenes. Yeah.
[00:31:08] And much like Misty's track fans are pretty children. The most
[00:31:12] part, it's only been kind of recently where we saw some of
[00:31:14] her kind of getting a little too radical. And it's like, okay,
[00:31:16] I think you missed the point of Star Trek. It's not about sexy
[00:31:19] people doing cool shit with swords and guns. It's about right.
[00:31:23] There's space cops slash
[00:31:25] doctors slash cowboys going from plan to planet. And it's the
[00:31:29] loss in space formula on steroids. You know, that's what it
[00:31:31] was. But it's you watch the first three seasons.
[00:31:34] Yeah. That's a two they're never great their first year. And I
[00:31:37] saw so many people just blah, blah, blah, the sucks. I'm like,
[00:31:40] well, that's what they said about the last five shots.
[00:31:43] He weren't there yet.
[00:31:47] Now, here's another side question.
[00:31:49] Who's a better space captain?
[00:31:54] Is it Joel and his calmness or is it Mike and his crashing a ship?
[00:31:57] Or is it Jonah and Emily's kind of.
[00:32:02] Well, they got to, you know, this last season, they got to interplay like three different ones all at the same time.
[00:32:08] And the last episode, yeah. You know this last season they got to interplay like three different ones all True all three of them they wrote to
[00:32:11] Space captains, I don't even know if you'd call them a captain. They're just the pilot on deck
[00:32:18] They act more like roomies
[00:32:20] Yeah, that's right roommates and
[00:32:23] That's the thing.
[00:32:25] They're damned if they do, damned if they don't, if, if they don't get blown up by an asteroid, then they still.
[00:32:30] And what win that suck if you were in a movie theater on that damn ship and you in an asteroid or space shut down or oxygen supply got cut off.
[00:32:38] What do I do that? There's no one. Yeah.
[00:32:40] No, I just, I'm picturing like the last episode of the original run and Mike
[00:32:47] Earth and then what do you see you see him sitting in front of a TV watching movies?
[00:32:54] Yeah, it was it was the crawling eye which was the first movie of the series, you know, I
[00:33:00] Think one of the yeah, this movie sounds familiar. Yeah, it was funny. Yep. Absolutely.
[00:33:08] Which monster from those movies do you think they'd actually get along with or Crow would actually tame or Crow might even be a mad scientist and bought form and just say, Hey, this is our monster. Treat him right.
[00:33:26] Because it seems like that's it.
[00:33:27] Like they don't fear anybody.
[00:33:29] Well, they were there was a lot of love for mega weapon.
[00:33:32] There you go.
[00:33:32] Oh my God.
[00:33:33] Mega weapon.
[00:33:34] They met mega weapon.
[00:33:35] He was cool to them.
[00:33:36] Yeah.
[00:33:37] There that them in gamma.
[00:33:38] Yeah.
[00:33:39] Go to the screen of maybe the gargoyles.
[00:33:42] The gargoyles would be funny.
[00:33:44] Uh, some of the other bads or.
[00:33:47] I can imagine just even some of the other sort and sorcery ones like.
[00:33:51] Death Stalker a tour coming on the screen and they're like, man, you need a bigger one cloth, dude. I'm seeing your ass.
[00:34:02] Crow would be working out in the gym with them trying to get buff even though he was a robot.
[00:34:06] He's got to put some silly putty on those arms and boom.
[00:34:10] Right. Oh man.
[00:34:13] There was what was the episode where he was actually buffed up for.
[00:34:16] I remember that when you were saying.
[00:34:18] Oh man. I think it was one of the other just kind of dating comedies or Edward movies.
[00:34:23] All I know is that if Mitchell or Jerron Ronimo the third any of
[00:34:28] those joton Baker villains they would definitely space out.
[00:34:33] Me like this dude's rude.
[00:34:40] Some of the other biker guys they probably fend off with.
[00:34:42] They'd probably, Crowe would definitely get along with the villain in I accused my parents because he
[00:34:48] seems like a nice guy when he's not being a gangster.
[00:34:51] Which is so ironic.
[00:34:54] I'd be interested to see the werewolves on wheels right up one day.
[00:34:59] Totally. Imagine if they went for another go on the space mutiny escape pods that they
[00:35:04] Imagine if they went for another go on the space, meet me escape pods that they think are go cards didn't have enough common sense to use to escape.
[00:35:14] Yeah, you could get out of those go carts and run faster.
[00:35:18] Oh, you know, you're talking.
[00:35:19] Yeah, space me.
[00:35:20] Okay.
[00:35:21] Yeah, it's my sweetening.
[00:35:22] I know.
[00:35:23] It's not to give up with me.
[00:35:24] We probably lost half the audience.
[00:35:25] Like, I put it on the robots.
[00:35:28] We should just say robot every once in a while to make the
[00:35:31] algorithms sake.
[00:35:32] But but but.
[00:35:34] And space to and doesn't have the go-kart chase with he crushes
[00:35:38] a guy and does this.
[00:35:40] But the hero of the movie
[00:35:44] tapped in a bag of himself.
[00:35:46] Oh, yeah.
[00:35:47] That's right.
[00:35:48] That wasn't written.
[00:35:49] Doesn't he?
[00:35:51] Yeah, I like this.
[00:35:52] If I'm going to scream at 1.2 or something.
[00:35:56] You did that throughout the entire movie.
[00:35:58] Okay.
[00:35:59] Slab beef steak or whatever they called him.
[00:36:02] Yeah, it's their case.
[00:36:04] They can talk about the staircases on the top two.
[00:36:07] And the other dude is he's still, I mean, he's, he's in good shape for his age.
[00:36:13] Uh, I saw him at a con not too long ago.
[00:36:16] And I was like, damn.
[00:36:18] Uh, and it was cool because he had the Captain America shirt, some nice jeans on
[00:36:21] and like flip around.
[00:36:24] I was like, love you
[00:36:25] rap.
[00:36:27] He's good since humor and he does he does a lot for all the other
[00:36:31] movie guys who just were bad sports or acting like, Oh, you can
[00:36:35] make fun of it. But only if you pay me X amount. Yeah, dude, you
[00:36:38] made the movie for peanuts. You've got to chill.
[00:36:43] Yeah, to be in a movie with Chris Christopher Lee. So, you know, yeah, you
[00:36:47] got to get howling to right. I finally was able to get the Blu ray of that. And Steve
[00:36:53] Johnson, the makeup guy is hysterical. Or he's like, I don't think anyone in the
[00:36:56] right mind considers this a good movie. But I enjoy working on this stupid movie.
[00:37:00] Well, they kept they keep re they kept rewinding the same scene over and over again at the end of the movie.
[00:37:06] I enjoyed the film.
[00:37:08] Tubular, Boogular Joy.
[00:37:11] But yeah, so does.
[00:37:15] Servo come off as kind of full of himself, or is he just like to laugh at his own jokes because he's nervous. Well, you remember his theme song to O'Fortuna from Carmena Berana.
[00:37:29] I can't be a tonter.
[00:37:31] He does love to stroke his ego and
[00:37:34] Trotas doesn't come off to me as a prude or perb,
[00:37:37] but he's definitely he wants to get laid
[00:37:43] as PG in terms of that wording as you can make it like.
[00:37:47] That's right.
[00:37:48] Although, Serbo has the most Pinocchio syndrome of any of them.
[00:37:52] Yes, he does.
[00:37:53] Well, he actually, yeah, he became a real boy at one point.
[00:37:56] Right.
[00:37:57] Did he get like a human head at some point?
[00:38:00] Yeah.
[00:38:01] Oh, man.
[00:38:02] The time he was completely nude. Yeah.
[00:38:05] That I have.
[00:38:06] I have a I've jotted down still work in progress,
[00:38:10] but I have a roster of how many times his heads exploded
[00:38:13] or crows jaw lines falling off or or like to say like where
[00:38:18] gumballs come out of their head or even just like I said,
[00:38:23] it's under even times where you can even
[00:38:24] see the puppeteers hand in the same shot.
[00:38:27] The time he was a game of kaboom and they wanted to pop him.
[00:38:31] Or they're operating on him. Oh my God.
[00:38:35] So here's a good question then.
[00:38:38] What's better? The early robots that were kind of, you know, slammed together or the cleaner slicker ones from later in the series.
[00:38:50] You talk to KTM a
[00:38:53] Yeah, I like from early like from the, I don't know the first.
[00:38:59] I kind of have some nostalgia for the earlier gypsy because it was just so ambitious. Like a garbage can.
[00:39:08] Yeah, even though it didn't look complete, if it's still just interesting just seeing them try to give life.
[00:39:11] And they definitely changed her up quite a bit, even during KTM.
[00:39:15] Hey, only the only thing.
[00:39:17] Yeah, I think it was better when they had a streamline,
[00:39:20] and they'd gotten the voices down better and.
[00:39:22] Yeah, definitely.
[00:39:23] It really started to figure them out.
[00:39:25] Isn't to fruit.
[00:39:27] Time. Yeah, for sure.
[00:39:31] They needed to do some work.
[00:39:34] I do wish.
[00:39:34] Hey, I don't know if you can see that.
[00:39:36] Yeah. And I do wish on IMDB they can make it less distracting and label season one as season zero.
[00:39:44] So would confuse
[00:39:46] it. Yeah that's right. I indeed does show him season KTM a season one career. Right.
[00:39:53] Which doesn't match any of the books. Right. And Joel has even said it himself. And it's like
[00:39:57] that's our rough draft. That's not even it's a dress rehearsal season. Exactly. It's like the
[00:40:02] It's a dress rehearsal season. Exactly.
[00:40:03] It's like the SNL deleted for time.
[00:40:06] It's still fun to watch.
[00:40:09] It's not working.
[00:40:11] But I even surprised some other
[00:40:13] misties who have their own friends
[00:40:16] with Chris Page on the time
[00:40:17] shifters and he was reminding
[00:40:19] himself like last year.
[00:40:20] He's like, oh my God, I actually
[00:40:22] haven't seen all a KTM.
[00:40:23] I thought it was just season one of
[00:40:24] him coming central. So it's interesting just season one of him. Comedy Central.
[00:40:26] So it's interesting how everyone goes and waves just figuring out
[00:40:30] what's the love to see all the KTM. But I've only been able to
[00:40:34] get, you know, get my hands on about half of them. Yeah, it's
[00:40:38] all on YouTube. Finally. But all of them. Okay.
[00:40:41] Except there's still one time. Yeah, the green slime.
[00:40:45] They just shown clips of that.
[00:40:47] Well, that was actually, I don't think it was actually it was like 15 minute test.
[00:40:51] Drive thing.
[00:40:52] Somehow.
[00:40:53] Somehow episode.
[00:40:55] The dirt.
[00:40:56] Well, I think the only KTM made that's never been air was repeated later on comedy central.
[00:41:04] Oh. was repeated later on Comedy Central. Oh, I will admit it's rough seeing the earlier
[00:41:08] camera ones, but seeing all the other ones, I had a lot of fun with just because they're
[00:41:11] all bizarre Russian or just international TV movies of the week that had a disaster formula.
[00:41:19] It's just kind of just something more milder as opposed to what they became later known as the you know sleazy detective or monster movie or sword and sorcery show.
[00:41:32] Yeah I think Star Force A-Lian, Future to A-Lian 2 which was episode 318 later was
[00:41:38] is one that no one has but the rest if you were Kickstarter backer, Joel gave me episodes one and two. I remember that. I've got them. So.
[00:41:47] Which in real good quality too. That's great.
[00:41:52] And see, Curtis to shout and come be free and wine to remaster all these, you know, just because we didn't have this right away. We just had the, you know, logo in the right hand corner. I can tell it was always gonna be around
[00:42:06] because I remember even I think in the mid 2000s,
[00:42:09] I would keep seeing blooper shows
[00:42:11] and they would almost always show a segment
[00:42:13] of one of the poopy tapes,
[00:42:15] just of Frank not being able to say a tongue twister.
[00:42:20] Yeah, they did too.
[00:42:22] I think I'd get two of those, the blooper ones. Right, right.
[00:42:26] But like I would see these in like actual like NBC like best blooper specials during the two.
[00:42:31] Oh, really? They had.
[00:42:33] They released a tape called Poopy. Right. Right. And the one thing I remember standing out about that was seeing crow catch on fire. Yeah. And he was he was pretty much destroyed, but they still
[00:42:46] managed to use him in another skit at one other time. And I can't remember what skit
[00:42:50] that was, but well, and
[00:42:52] Yeah, a lot of that you'd like also to see trace was in the shot and stuff like that.
[00:42:59] And that, you know,
[00:43:00] I mean,
[00:43:01] right.
[00:43:02] Or, um, I don't think on soul brother trades, Frank just cracking up over and over and over.
[00:43:09] Oh, don't wait.
[00:43:11] He just cannot open himself.
[00:43:13] There's like a five minute run of him just you couldn't get through the line.
[00:43:17] Or trades too.
[00:43:18] I think they were both laughing.
[00:43:23] But in that the one Conrad refrigerator, they just kept it in on the show.
[00:43:28] Remember that?
[00:43:29] When they couldn't get, they were talking about the invention exchange and the Wayne Conrad
[00:43:33] alarm for your fridge.
[00:43:35] Who's going to want this?
[00:43:38] What do you say?
[00:43:39] Oh my God.
[00:43:40] All the producer of the shows.
[00:43:42] Yeah.
[00:43:43] Yeah, that was a the shows. Yeah.
[00:43:47] Yeah, that was a good bet. I do miss the invention exchanges.
[00:43:49] I mean, they brought it back with some of this, but it's still, I mean, I hope no one forgets it because brought comedy is just so hard to do.
[00:43:57] I mean, sure you've had Gallagher and company do stuff like that, but I do hope people remember how exquisite a trait and skill set it is to have instead of just
[00:44:06] just... I'm just going... Go ahead. Yeah, I was just thinking, you know, yeah, I like the
[00:44:12] Adventure Exchange Mike when he took over, he did it for a little bit, but then he kind of got away
[00:44:16] from it because there really wasn't this thing. Right. He's more like musical skits and that kind
[00:44:22] of stuff. Right, and no fair stick with what you're good at.
[00:44:26] I mean, yeah, there were some historical songs during his time,
[00:44:29] but I just always have plotted the Envision Exchange, not just because of the work
[00:44:33] that went into creating those bits that may or may not work, but just kind of.
[00:44:38] It reminded me of just a typical like SNL or even a who's line type improv
[00:44:42] sketch.
[00:44:42] I was like, yeah, on the spot that you can't tell them
[00:44:46] anything that will just kill them is
[00:44:48] like they are selling you on something
[00:44:50] you're not going to buy.
[00:44:52] That kind of reminded me of the whole
[00:44:55] scenes from a hat, you know, is that,
[00:44:57] you know, things to sell that are bad
[00:44:59] ideas.
[00:45:02] Everyone's while there'd be one in there
[00:45:03] is like, you know what? Not too
[00:45:04] shabby.
[00:45:05] I might just buy that.
[00:45:11] So, uh, I'm sorry.
[00:45:13] Did y'all say that the star force is not available anywhere?
[00:45:18] Uh, KTM a KTM a version.
[00:45:22] Oh, okay.
[00:45:22] Is the one that no one has.
[00:45:23] Yeah.
[00:45:23] No, that's okay. Somebody probably does somewhere. Oh, okay. No, yeah, no, that's somebody
[00:45:25] probably does somewhere. Right. Probably.
[00:45:29] hasn't made the underground trading list.
[00:45:32] The one I've been wanting to see, the one I've been wanting to see
[00:45:35] from KTM a which I haven't yet is the Mysterion's episode. Oh, yeah.
[00:45:40] And I think you can find it on YouTube now. I really want to go back
[00:45:44] and look. I think it's still on there. Yeah. Yeah. I think you can find out there on YouTube now. I really want to go back and look. I think it's still on there. Yeah. It's even funnier how many of these
[00:45:50] movies you might have unofficially seen in one of those no creek DVD blue
[00:45:54] ray packs. Oh revenge the Mysterians. Yeah, that's it. Yeah. I think Joel gave
[00:46:00] Kickstarter backers that one too. He gave us two episodes. So I'm pretty sure
[00:46:04] that was.
[00:46:05] What they like the Thunderbirds type characters or something.
[00:46:08] Yeah.
[00:46:09] Yeah.
[00:46:10] Yeah.
[00:46:12] The puppets.
[00:46:12] Yeah.
[00:46:15] Which is a good way to start the series.
[00:46:16] If Aiders Run the Deep was the actual first episode.
[00:46:19] Oh, yeah.
[00:46:20] Green Slime was the 15 minute.
[00:46:23] It's almost as confusing as Star princess, the space 1999 compilation.
[00:46:28] Yeah.
[00:46:30] Or cosmic princess.
[00:46:31] Yeah, sorry.
[00:46:32] That's the one.
[00:46:33] Yeah.
[00:46:34] That's OK.
[00:46:35] Hey, it's time to give up with all these netting movies.
[00:46:39] I kind of like the last the last chase with Lee Majors.
[00:46:43] That was that was wild.
[00:46:44] I was Gefa. You know, some uses were like that was kind of the battlefield
[00:46:48] earth of its I think that's another one. Seen yet. You did
[00:46:51] that one. I heard about it. But yeah, I kind of wish they if
[00:46:55] there was one they could probably redo I wouldn't mind if they
[00:46:58] did face for again because it's just yeah. Of them to the one
[00:47:02] with Peter and it's killing people man.
[00:47:07] Yeah, it's functioning as a computer.
[00:47:08] Pretty much right.
[00:47:10] It's kind of surreal in a way. That was clever.
[00:47:12] Yeah.
[00:47:12] Yeah. The writer that the worst we can find book says that was an odd choice for
[00:47:16] the show, but he did a clip of it.
[00:47:19] But yeah, it's not your typical in the St.
[00:47:22] Episode or movie.
[00:47:24] So that's a good point. MST episode or movie. So.
[00:47:25] That's a good point. That is a good book.
[00:47:28] Yeah.
[00:47:29] Yeah, I just got, I just got done reading it.
[00:47:31] Fun ones.
[00:47:34] All right.
[00:47:37] Well, this has been a delight to have a neon here as always and anything anyone would want to promote.
[00:47:42] Well, I want to just say thank you for inviting me.
[00:47:45] This has just been a blast.
[00:47:46] I don't really have a lot of people around that we talk about.
[00:47:48] Mystery Science Theater.
[00:47:50] Really?
[00:47:50] When I do, they look at me weird.
[00:47:52] So, oh, I'm going to the club just describing it.
[00:47:55] I always knew when you describe something, you pitch it, you keep it brief.
[00:48:00] It's like trying to explain a black mirror to somebody.
[00:48:03] So the first episode, no way the minute.
[00:48:06] So the second episode.
[00:48:07] The outer limits.
[00:48:08] Yeah.
[00:48:09] And I always had to tell you it was like, okay, so a janitor and two robots are trapped in
[00:48:14] space and forced to watch bad movies, but everyone else would want to just describe it
[00:48:18] all.
[00:48:19] And it's like you've lost them after the first sentence.
[00:48:21] I just saw their eyes go dead.
[00:48:23] Don't keep it as it was a good
[00:48:27] thing for me. Because it reminded me years ago, trying to explain it and people thought I was
[00:48:31] talking about Cisco and Ebert. Yeah. You know, we see the movie too, you know, but that's a long
[00:48:38] time ago. I'd actually give tapes for people to watch. And then they come back to me and they say,
[00:48:45] they were talking during the movie.
[00:48:48] Yeah, they missed the point.
[00:48:49] And I'm like, did you hear what they were saying?
[00:48:52] Why do you think it's on Comedy Central?
[00:48:54] Yeah.
[00:48:55] Yeah.
[00:48:56] Yeah.
[00:48:57] It's all about the interplay.
[00:48:58] I'm just trying to show as comedy records with visuals.
[00:49:02] Exactly.
[00:49:03] No, that's a good.
[00:49:04] That is a great description.
[00:49:05] It is a total national.
[00:49:08] Yeah.
[00:49:09] And it's funny how other things are being described as
[00:49:13] mystery science theater now.
[00:49:14] So you could say, you know, this shows like Mr.
[00:49:17] Science Theater.
[00:49:17] Yeah, I was a percent correct.
[00:49:19] And we're seeing the Joe Bob resurgence.
[00:49:22] It reminded me how I would even tease a few other people is like, okay,
[00:49:26] you watched Fingouli. I was seeing Fingouli, but I didn't know his name. Elvira, surely,
[00:49:31] you know, Elvira. So it's funny how so many others, they saw a variation of it. But most
[00:49:35] of them were just familiar with just kind of.
[00:49:39] Joke's in between the movies and.
[00:49:43] Yeah, or Tiger Lily or even spinal tap type
[00:49:46] mockumentary. They were just yeah, familiar with the fireside fireside
[00:49:50] theater. Um, they did some theater. They did something I have called hot shorts,
[00:49:57] where they took like these movie serials and then they do their own dialogue over
[00:50:01] them. Absolutely. Yeah.
[00:50:02] Every dub them. Yeah. Who's lying to the version of that where they had to dove it, but movie dub.
[00:50:07] But yeah, it's.
[00:50:08] And they see.
[00:50:09] What's up Tiger Lilly, the Woody Allen movie.
[00:50:11] There's actually.
[00:50:12] It was even TV show in the early 80s where they did dialogue over.
[00:50:16] Yeah, that's it.
[00:50:18] Yeah.
[00:50:19] Yeah, that's not about the book.
[00:50:20] Yeah, even TV's took over and people would remember, hey, isn't that the one where the
[00:50:24] infamous movie and the director apologizes the
[00:50:26] entire? Yeah, it's like the new variations of this, but it's like they would always
[00:50:31] just cover this by accident or just with finally enough urging or just casually.
[00:50:36] And it's like really, that's how you got into it. Okay.
[00:50:41] Whatever it takes. I do like how everything's all branched out now.
[00:50:45] I mean, you've got Mystery Science Theaters come back.
[00:50:48] You've got some crew, you know, the crew that worked at the end of Mystery Science Theater.
[00:50:52] They're doing riff tracks.
[00:50:53] Right.
[00:50:54] Yeah.
[00:50:55] And then Tracy Frank wants some of the...
[00:50:56] Yeah, doing the...
[00:50:57] Yeah, those guys are gods.
[00:50:58] So glad I could talk to them because they're my heroes.
[00:51:02] Like, I just...
[00:51:04] I think all of them are in our DNA more than we realize.
[00:51:09] You know, I just, I applaud any of them for whenever they got something ambitious.
[00:51:13] I know it's going to pay off.
[00:51:15] Yeah.
[00:51:16] I just, I love how Mary Jo and Bridget can do their own thing on bizarre
[00:51:21] chick flicks and disaster.
[00:51:23] Yeah. They liked that they did like a whole bunch of like Sherlock Holmes stuff.
[00:51:28] That I, I, yeah.
[00:51:30] There was one on right before.
[00:51:33] Absolutely.
[00:51:34] And recently they even did a Charlie, Charlie Chan.
[00:51:38] I think they didn't Charlie.
[00:51:39] Oh, with Karloff.
[00:51:42] I think so.
[00:51:43] No, not Charlie.
[00:51:44] Charlie Chan. No, for Karloff played Charlie think so. No, not Charlie. Charlie Chan. No,
[00:51:46] for Karloff played Charlie Chan for a few movies. Oh, no, he
[00:51:50] wasn't in this movie. Good. It was horrible. I mean,
[00:51:55] well, it's nice too about the New York ur nations. You got the
[00:51:57] madster back once a month and riff tracks and Mr. Sinecede
[00:52:02] and you they're doing fan interaction. I'm glad that they
[00:52:04] squished all those awful rumors,
[00:52:07] acting like none of them got along.
[00:52:08] He's like, no, we're all doing our own thing.
[00:52:11] We only have time for XML.
[00:52:14] We'll do a reunion show every five years.
[00:52:17] But, well, I enjoy them all.
[00:52:20] I even enjoy some of the people,
[00:52:22] Master Pancake does the thing I enjoy too.
[00:52:24] I want to go to those so bad.
[00:52:26] It's something awesome.
[00:52:27] The Texas shows?
[00:52:28] Yeah, in San Antonio.
[00:52:29] Yeah.
[00:52:30] Well, he's like, I just check out what they got on Twitch.
[00:52:33] Totally.
[00:52:34] Yeah.
[00:52:35] Yeah, Mary Jo's shows tomorrow.
[00:52:37] Oh, so yeah, that's right.
[00:52:39] Yeah.
[00:52:40] Does she do Twitch?
[00:52:41] Yeah.
[00:52:42] I think she does.
[00:52:43] Yeah.
[00:52:44] She does a lot of old ABC movies of the week.
[00:52:48] It's a lot of the week.
[00:52:49] Something she can find on YouTube.
[00:52:51] Yeah.
[00:52:52] Becky, my wife and I haven't had a chance
[00:52:54] to check her out yet, but we've been meaning to for her shows.
[00:53:00] But again, you can then all the taken questions
[00:53:03] from the fans after the show.
[00:53:04] Absolutely.
[00:53:04] And Chris, Isaac is good at the bottom questions from the fans after the show. Absolutely.
[00:53:05] And Chris, Zach is good at it.
[00:53:07] I've been, I've been a few times.
[00:53:08] My questions.
[00:53:09] That's good.
[00:53:11] I realized so many podcasts.
[00:53:13] Oh, more to, and YouTube shows.
[00:53:15] Oh, so much to MST pre K. I don't think you would have had research in an 07 just because
[00:53:19] it was a certain kind of quirky humor and appreciating just again, infamous movies that
[00:53:26] kind of have a soul here.
[00:53:28] Well, you know, I have two podcasts.
[00:53:31] I listened to that I really enjoy film sack was one.
[00:53:35] Oh, nice.
[00:53:36] You know, and then another one would be how did this get made with the whole cheers?
[00:53:40] Yeah.
[00:53:41] And that man, Zukas is a god.
[00:53:42] And June 9th, Raphael, I always light up because I will recognize her.
[00:53:47] And I'm like, and so it's funny is people will get a mistake.
[00:53:49] And for like, sir, I'm like, no, that's, that's June.
[00:53:53] I'm just getting made.
[00:53:55] She's been in a lot of things playing house, the newer Muppets mock
[00:54:01] and memory show is everything.
[00:54:02] And any time she's out, it's great.
[00:54:04] It's like, Oh, I just know they're gonna cast
[00:54:06] her as some quirky character. And all I had known for years, but I
[00:54:09] didn't know his name. But his life is kind of contagious.
[00:54:13] He actually has a voice on Florida.
[00:54:15] Yes. Yeah. Oh,
[00:54:16] that and Matt and Matt Zukas was on
[00:54:20] somewhat prodigy. Yeah, he was on prodigy is like the bigger alien
[00:54:23] guy by,. Well, I'm kudos to anyone who can play a cool character and Star Trek and not be a red shirt.
[00:54:34] Although imagine if they had that on MST 3K, if they had a bunch of people running their ship,
[00:54:40] and they did a Star Trek spoof that I watch it.
[00:54:43] ship and they did a Star Trek spoof that I watch it. Like the time Mike was Jane Way from.
[00:54:47] Yeah, they go in a mirror universe.
[00:54:49] That was that was that the final episode too.
[00:54:52] I think that was the final episode.
[00:54:54] One of the final ones, but.
[00:54:56] We're mad at the Comedy Central final.
[00:54:58] I was on sci-fi. Yeah.
[00:54:59] It was a sci-fi.
[00:55:01] But, but in all fairness, they did do plenty of other just.
[00:55:04] Weird stuff on later
[00:55:05] Comedy Central, like especially when the Mads switched places with them and they
[00:55:09] had to react to the movie. Yeah, I kind of wanted to see more of that kind of
[00:55:14] I did too. It was like how funny would it be if they like I don't know got
[00:55:20] stranded on the ship with them and they had to share quarters.
[00:55:29] Yeah, that was a take-off on a Star Trek episode original series. Yep, the mere universe. Yeah, people's Spock. And if there's anything Mike does well, it's definitely
[00:55:36] being evil. He shows up as like, there's one where he shows up as, I'm not sure if it's an
[00:55:43] alternate universe where it's his brother. Oh yeah. Yeah.
[00:55:47] Real. He's real sluggish. He's mean. You know, kick several around and he
[00:55:51] spoke of a cigarette.
[00:55:52] Then he's like standing up in the theater. He's standing up in the theater.
[00:55:58] Yeah. Good parody of time-traveled tropes.
[00:56:03] I'm a different kind of asshole in this lifetime. Okay,
[00:56:08] this has been dynamite gang and awesome. Keep knocking the roof off
[00:56:12] this place. All right. So glad I've been here. Appreciate it. And we

[00:56:31] And it's my favorite one so far has been favorite guest stars on a TV show.
