[00:00:00] Hi, this is Grant Kempster from Highlander Heart and you are about to find out about the greatest moments in the Highlander saga.

[00:00:08] There are so many good moments in a first Highlander movie but I guess for me what really does it is the car park scene.

[00:00:16] It's the personification of the juxtaposition of old and new.

[00:00:22] So you know sword fights, modern day car park, just a fantastic moment and real kind of wake up call to kind of like oh right that's the kind of movie this is.

[00:00:32] Like what kind of movie is it? Okay I don't know I'll stick around and find out but I think that car park sequence really is such a great opener for the franchise as a whole.

[00:00:42] Highlander 2 has many of I think some of the greatest moments in the Highlander saga and I know that's controversial.

[00:00:51] Anyone who watches the channel on YouTube or kind of knows me from the Facebook group will know I'm a bit of a Highlander 2 sympathiser.

[00:00:59] You know just look at the production value of that movie. Every scene and moment just looks beautiful.

[00:01:08] It gives us some really great moments. If I had to pick one it is undoubtedly Connor walking out of the flames.

[00:01:14] A young man again. That moment is just, it's just such an amazing sequence irrespective of how awful it sits in the canon.

[00:01:25] It's such a great moment. I'll be honest Highlander 3 doesn't really give me any amazing moments unfortunately but moving forward to Highlander Endgame

[00:01:36] that's where I think things start to get better. I'm slightly biased purely because I was there for this scene.

[00:01:44] The sequence in the graveyard in Highlander Endgame was just such a great moment because I know within the concept of the you know within the confines of the movie

[00:01:55] we've already seen him in a flashback with Adrian playing Duncan with the ponytail and things like that again.

[00:02:02] So we have already sort of seen them again together but that's the graveyard scene where they finally meet again

[00:02:08] and I can tell you standing there watching them shoot that moment was really something.

[00:02:14] But I think all of that aside it's still a great moment in Highlander Saga.

[00:02:19] Finally seeing our after six odd years our two Highlanders back together and you know that's just, it's a fantastic moment.

[00:02:29] The series has some fantastic moments a hundred percent. I almost like too many to choose from but if I had to and I will

[00:02:40] again no surprise to anybody who watches the channel comes a horseman and revelations are my favourite episodes

[00:02:45] and that scene with Mythos and Duncan where Duncan confronts him about his past really is everything

[00:02:56] and it's everything about the series as well because it's just it shows you how you know some but immortality works in such a way that somebody can do a 360

[00:03:09] from being a murdering rapist to being a character that we all really care about and love.

[00:03:14] It's a you know a fantastically acted scene as well but I think it really sums up the series as a whole and the franchise as a whole

[00:03:22] and when it comes to the series 100% that is my defining moment.

[00:03:27] You know I think there's some good moments from some of the animation but you know really I'd probably go with you know Highlander

[00:03:33] animated series The Bit with Connor just because it's The Bit with Connor even though it's incredibly tenuous as to how

[00:03:41] cononical that kind of moment is and from the anime movie I mean the guy with the chainsaw that you know that whole sequence

[00:03:49] is just bats you crazy and fun so yeah that's pretty cool.

[00:03:54] Anyway have fun tonight guys sorry I can join you I will be fast asleep because I'm over 50 now and get very tired.

[00:04:03] Cheers.

[00:04:36] How have you been?

[00:04:50] Pretty good.

[00:04:51] And are you the chosen one with a sword?

[00:04:54] No this is an Excalibur or King Arthur.

[00:04:57] Oh my god.

[00:04:59] Wrong franchise shithead.

[00:05:03] People listen he called him shithead.

[00:05:06] Ooh.

[00:05:07] I call you a dog shithead.

[00:05:09] Alright let's get me the Tucker.

[00:05:14] I'm quoting the jerk.

[00:05:18] Full metal alchemist.

[00:05:20] Oh joy.

[00:05:23] The jerk shithead.

[00:05:26] Me and the Tucker's from anime.

[00:05:28] Okay perfect I'm quoting a great comedy.

[00:05:31] Oh no.

[00:05:32] Oh man so I just figured you know we there's so many great moments of the Connor and Duncan McLeod saga the fact that they're cousins but they call each other brothers like as a tournament endearment and I mean it's just been so fun that again the show can be hit anywhere prime to be and it just was so much fun revisiting

[00:05:55] just instead of just seeing glimpses of it on sci-fi channel and what have you just like yeah this show rocked.

[00:06:03] Definitely I still gotta watch that shit.

[00:06:08] I don't know I'm behind them everything.

[00:06:13] I mean just we've talked about the villains before and all that jazz but I mean they had probably some of the best one off villains to where and once they got past the first season they're like hey we can actually do something more than just their misogynist or about to assault someone is

[00:06:33] like no they can be guys who think they're misunderstood that having a guy who thinks he's a vampire going around doing killings that was fun just there's everyone's got the favorite episodes and I think it's less divisive than Star Trek or X files where the show really didn't know what it wanted to be it just after

[00:06:53] that first season they said let's have more serialized storylines let's have there be a two arc where they go after this villain and then a whole different arc with these group of guys who are trying to take down and just having to explain the rules of the game again and it's like because

[00:07:15] it already got muddy is like okay they fight but you know they only they only are after each other you know anyone else in their way and even Adrian Paul talked about I talked to him on Twitter too.

[00:07:29] I talked to him when he talked about how he was filming the show and during one of the seasons he actually asked for two weeks off and gave it to him because he was so I think this is like middle of the series right season three give or take.

[00:07:47] And he was feeling or my Ben was and he was feeling so bogged down and couldn't creatively think or work that he requested to resolve.

[00:08:00] So right.

[00:08:04] And he said when he did that it really helped him refocus and stuff and since he had it up full with the show and the directors they gave him the irritated signal break.

[00:08:16] So yeah.

[00:08:18] And then my conversation with him was I asked him on Twitter if a highland with the quickening nullify Dracula since they're both immortal like if an immortal so Dracula as much as say he was there you know.

[00:08:37] Yeah.

[00:08:39] Hell yeah.

[00:08:40] I'm like this is right now thinking about like there and it's like if you were to ask the loan about Rocky or Rambo or just anything is like hey I heard it from the beast.

[00:08:56] It's just it's so interesting because I was saying like there's so many crossovers that Highlander could work with and wouldn't work with.

[00:09:05] Yeah.

[00:09:06] The most underrated one the which blade Dracula obviously because they're the most basic layouts ever if you just go with the basic layouts for Highlander and Dracula you can have an easy one off story with them.

[00:09:26] And then I was thinking like Highlander versus Wolverine now if you stupid as hell because you can't cut his head off.

[00:09:35] He has this fucking had a man.

[00:09:38] Breaking shit.

[00:09:40] And that doesn't tell it is kind of still electric you have to fucking time.

[00:09:47] Maybe a fucking smoldering corpse every time.

[00:09:50] It can be only one.

[00:09:52] And then cuts their health.

[00:09:53] I will say there are some good fights in the end game movie.

[00:09:58] It's just the main issue is the watchers are very confusingly introduced.

[00:10:03] Dude my biggest my biggest thing with end game is the JVC song.

[00:10:10] Why the fuck is it blurred.

[00:10:14] Oh man.

[00:10:15] That thing irritates the shit up me every time I'm watching like why are you blurred did they not get the copyright for this or something.

[00:10:25] I think it was how they were digitally redoing it and someone thought let's do that it looks better it was like it doesn't look better.

[00:10:31] It looks bad it's like it makes it look like they didn't have permission to share the sign.

[00:10:37] I can understand.

[00:10:38] I can understand if it was too bright.

[00:10:41] That's understandable that'll fuck with the light.

[00:10:44] But you can eat but for 2000 could easily just tone that down a little bit.

[00:10:50] I agree.

[00:10:51] And make it work.

[00:10:52] But if they just like oh it's we can't show it because we're on permission that'd be fucking funny as well.

[00:11:00] Like finally 24 years like oh yeah we did.

[00:11:03] And you think they would know by now a shotgun is not going to do much to these guys they're going to just keep getting back up.

[00:11:09] Yeah but it's losing the hell of a battle.

[00:11:11] That's what happened with the original ending for the universal soldier.

[00:11:15] Yeah.

[00:11:16] And they caught it was so dark.

[00:11:21] Similar kind of cult universe where everybody's seen it.

[00:11:24] Yes.

[00:11:24] It's like it's critic proof and morbid curiosity.

[00:11:28] I do like the villain James Horton is just he's just so in your face.

[00:11:34] He thinks he's going to be a cool guy and then he just has that smirking like oh fuck I'm going to kill someone.

[00:11:41] And yeah it's just so much to like.

[00:11:45] And I just like how the hunters you know simple name their renegade watchers the watchers are just trying to keep the peace and kind of be Karen's if you will they want to inflict rules upon.

[00:11:58] Yeah.

[00:11:59] Are the Highlanders but then yeah they come into the thing and it's like hey you can't do that and.

[00:12:08] Yeah the watchers are just like it's just because Horton spend too much time around the actual Kergan he's like you know I want to exterminate all of them that's all they are in.

[00:12:18] Yeah.

[00:12:19] He loves his job too much.

[00:12:22] And I got Kergan's origins comic on my channel so that's fine.

[00:12:28] He heard from him guys check out his fan stuff and.

[00:12:33] I didn't even know there was a comic origin for Kergan.

[00:12:36] I was so surprised.

[00:12:38] I had heard about it I just hadn't.

[00:12:42] Picked it up.

[00:12:45] And I got to say I love when.

[00:12:50] The thing so this is not meant to be a hot take at all we all associate certain characters like if you mentioned Star Trek people are going to go Captain Kirk or Data or I.

[00:13:01] Always associated.

[00:13:04] Methods the most just Peter Wingful has that is he a good guy or bad guy kind of.

[00:13:09] Yeah I mentioned that.

[00:13:11] He's he comes off like not knowing his full history from me like.

[00:13:17] Criminals practically.

[00:13:18] Yeah he seems more like a prick but he's very secretive and shit.

[00:13:23] But he's just literally been stabbed in the back so many times he just doesn't want to go down that road again and he's not proud of having been associated with the four horsemen.

[00:13:35] Oh well but I love how he reveals how down the road I want to say season four ish he reveals.

[00:13:46] Just.

[00:13:49] Very.

[00:13:53] Just very casually he just says by the way I trained with Ramirez.

[00:14:01] Sean Connery's character for the first to move like.

[00:14:04] Like see that's that's awesome and I love how he becomes best friends with Joe the old guy who's you know musician by night and trying to keep him safe and actually understand all those words and.

[00:14:17] The camera work actually does remind me a bit of homicide is that hole just raw in the moment kind of feeling and montage is that work and.

[00:14:29] But I love when how methods loses a sword and he beats up some henchmen of some of the.

[00:14:38] Hunters that are trying to kill him and not abide by the game and just trying to keep Joe alive and then he's like out of bullets and something they're just trying to figure out but they're bonding as friends also during it almost becomes

[00:14:52] some 48 hours kind of buddy formula after a while.

[00:14:56] Very fun.

[00:15:00] So like you I have the.

[00:15:03] 2004 the second recut of Highlander 2 on DVD and it is one of those is like see some broken equipment you can fix you know like.

[00:15:14] I still need to watch a lot of them to get a.

[00:15:17] I like how they took out just some of the carnage that just didn't work and it's not that it was gross or anything it was just let's wrap it up let's make it more neat let's change the coloring of the shield so.

[00:15:29] Just fuck around with a little more so it's not.

[00:15:33] Just.

[00:15:35] Getting people just to nitpick more.

[00:15:38] Yeah I did like the alien origin.

[00:15:40] To that's.

[00:15:42] You know and see a lot of people have issues with it but see the thing is in the first movie script they claimed they were aliens they just didn't use it so.

[00:15:54] I would have been fine with that honestly I would have just it's just the whole.

[00:16:01] Katana going around just randomly killing people just for no reason and you're just like.

[00:16:06] Yeah I remember him and I'm like he didn't really feel like a villain.

[00:16:11] Like when I was doing my whole comparison of all the villains that I like I know all the moves that's it I have really watched a series of.

[00:16:19] But like out of all the villains in Highlander.

[00:16:24] I should say out of all the Highland plan a cloud and shit.

[00:16:30] Connor has suffered the worst.

[00:16:33] Yeah I don't know all the dunking sword but going by what I know for Connor.

[00:16:38] He's had plenty.

[00:16:39] Yeah Kergan broke Kergan killed his girl raped and killed her.

[00:16:46] He broke his sword.

[00:16:49] Jacob Kell killed his mom Heather or his mom and Rachel.

[00:16:55] And I'm like that trio fucked Connor over so bad and then he's just broken.

[00:17:01] And plenty of people go after methods because he found out down the road all when I was under a different allegiance I did kill your you or your ancestor.

[00:17:11] I killed your ancestor dramatic music commercial break comes back same frame.

[00:17:17] It's like it's fortunately not like that.

[00:17:20] That's what I love too when it goes to commercial break it's to breathe it's never the dreaded what every other show would do where it's like freeze frame.

[00:17:30] I mean like that was like TNG with or brother.

[00:17:37] They somehow got away with it but there were so many others were just like dude this this dramatic wait just got lost by that commercial break.

[00:17:47] Oh man.

[00:17:48] Oh.

[00:17:51] It's like brother and it's like slow burnout to commercial.

[00:17:56] Really?

[00:17:56] Yeah.

[00:17:58] But then back then it's like work has a brother.

[00:18:03] What's and he's the candy man.

[00:18:08] Oh man.

[00:18:11] Yeah like.

[00:18:13] So what's your favorite.

[00:18:17] You know your choice sucks.

[00:18:22] I'm definitely going to go with.

[00:18:26] I'm thinking.

[00:18:28] I could try definitely Doug and sword I just so much more swift.

[00:18:33] Yeah I like Duncan's but I prefer the McLeod plan sort overall.

[00:18:38] McLeod.

[00:18:40] I love that damn thing it's it's so it's iconic.

[00:18:46] It has its own stage presence.

[00:18:49] And it's so underrated because you don't see it for the one film well actually too if you count anyone.

[00:18:57] But yeah it's just it's so it's there it's a symbol of you know what the who's in charge.

[00:19:08] And Kerr again is nice.

[00:19:11] It's nice it just shows more scum than the various helmets he's wearing.

[00:19:20] And I love how.

[00:19:23] What's his name who worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy Princess Bride and.

[00:19:28] Was the Darth Vader fighting double in this original trilogy.

[00:19:35] The Highlander TV show in the first movie.

[00:19:38] David Brose.

[00:19:39] No not for a person was just the actor for most of art.

[00:19:46] I'll just look it up Star Wars.

[00:19:48] I've only studied him multiple times.

[00:19:53] And.

[00:19:54] I just loved how he just had a great sense of.

[00:20:00] Okay yes so it was Bob Anderson.

[00:20:03] He was the Spencer and he did Disney's The Free Musketeers.

[00:20:07] Oh wow.

[00:20:10] Underrated.

[00:20:11] Yep even coach Darryl Flynn and Johnny Depp so you go.

[00:20:16] But you've seen his work also in the Mask of Zoro with banderas.

[00:20:21] I love that.

[00:20:23] Everyone does and isn't it funny how with Connery we can just assume he's lived many lifestyles so that's why he's.

[00:20:31] British but.

[00:20:34] Well and an Egyptian and.

[00:20:38] With it's just so funny I've had plenty of Latino friends who are just like that.

[00:20:42] It was Zoro they're like hey Hopkins he both works and he does it like he's not Spanish but he's fucking excellent.

[00:20:50] It's a choice.

[00:20:52] True.

[00:20:53] It's just interesting how some actors can just get away with his like tough sell but.

[00:21:01] The original Trek Klingons they were so cool.

[00:21:10] Lord.

[00:21:11] They were real that's how they're supposed to look.

[00:21:16] No we're not having this conversation again.

[00:21:21] I don't care original Trek's the best there's nothing political in it.

[00:21:27] Wow word.

[00:21:29] They clearly haven't seen the black or white episode.

[00:21:33] So I love how.

[00:21:36] When Duncan does a fight like he's always fighting differently some if it's personal he's really distracted even though he knows how to end this and.

[00:21:46] It's never like Captain Kirk where so predictable you know it's going to end just with a fight.

[00:21:51] Or sex.

[00:21:54] Oh yeah.

[00:21:55] Never gets that formula and.

[00:21:59] I gotta say though like with the first eyeliner I just love how he finds out what he can do when.

[00:22:06] It's merely a flesh wound when he gets stopped by some German soldiers and.

[00:22:11] He just go ahead and fights them he's like and they're just so spooked by him there's like I guess I'm going away.

[00:22:20] Well that was like end game a whole car that was so funny where and then Connor fencing and.

[00:22:27] I always did like that it keeps getting stabbed he's like no no stop stop stop.

[00:22:32] They do a good job of the fact that they got a double.

[00:22:35] To Lambert extensively due to his blindness.

[00:22:39] Oh wow I didn't know that yeah so there's a reason you don't see him much when he's fighting.

[00:22:44] Oh.

[00:22:47] That's sad.

[00:22:51] Oh man.

[00:22:52] What else do I like.

[00:22:58] I definitely know which quickening of the best Connors of Duncan's.

[00:23:05] Oh so I'm going to suddenly go to again Duncan has better fights even in the lesser movies.

[00:23:16] But even lesser episodes he's just he's just so charming god damn it.

[00:23:23] I know he's.

[00:23:24] He was infectious yeah like guys are like you can beat me up any day but.

[00:23:30] He's literally a 96 symbol for TV because he's got the brooding.

[00:23:37] All the friends in the location and he cut that ponytail that gorgeous fucking hair he doesn't cuts it.

[00:23:45] Right I still love him.

[00:23:48] I love you Adrian.

[00:23:49] That's just why everyone liked the show which is so easy to follow instead of.

[00:23:55] You know who get killed this week that in season one there's a die hard in a like bank courtroom episode that's fun and the guy taking it over is the bad guy from toy soldiers and the wish master Andrew devolve it one of two appearances.

[00:24:11] Let's see I like.

[00:24:14] Like Connors quickening is iconic obviously because it's.

[00:24:18] Yeah he has better ones because Highlander for the first two seasons kind of you'll have a cool fight but it takes a while to.

[00:24:26] For them to get used to it and the slow motion in low budget isn't always on its side we'll see well Connor in any of his movies even the worst ones.

[00:24:35] He.

[00:24:36] And just the facts are really well primed and.

[00:24:40] The first one with the exploding window that's perfect and then don't yeah it just takes it up another fucking lot season free was pretty late or not season movie free was pretty lame but.

[00:24:52] And movie one and four is pretty good it's just.

[00:24:57] In fact I'll even admit when they're talking at the beginning of in game saying trouble is afoot shout out to Mack Jackson of the forever adventure.

[00:25:09] Network I.

[00:25:12] He brought up how this was such a cool use of suspense and I don't know what it is but many Canadian shows they know how to do that they just know how to just kind of.

[00:25:24] Add tension and then have the reiki soundtrack and.

[00:25:29] It's the maple syrup.

[00:25:32] Well.

[00:25:33] Oh.

[00:25:34] Oh.

[00:25:39] Canadian maple syrup now I know.

[00:25:41] Imagine Canadian Highlander.

[00:25:44] Oh yeah.

[00:25:46] South Park style.

[00:25:49] Oh how about trailer park boy style.

[00:25:52] Oh my God.

[00:25:54] They're just throwing bottles at each other so you shut the fuck up.

[00:25:58] There can only be one motherfucker.

[00:26:01] And then Mr. Lachey comes in.

[00:26:05] I'm going to play now.

[00:26:07] Now more violence and God.

[00:26:10] There can be only one here.

[00:26:13] It's gonna be me.

[00:26:15] Oh I kind of like you.

[00:26:18] And Mr. Macky kills.

[00:26:25] Stops them down one of the Highlanders.

[00:26:28] I'll take your hand.

[00:26:31] You're good now.

[00:26:31] OK.

[00:26:35] I gotta ask you.

[00:26:37] What is the definitive.

[00:26:41] Queen song.

[00:26:43] Oh Jesus Christ there's a good one.

[00:26:46] People are acting like hey you know this is all good and that is

[00:26:49] like yeah but for the longest time you could not find those songs.

[00:26:52] I

[00:26:53] Have the let's see. I have the two discs sets for

[00:26:58] Highlander and and

[00:27:00] And first one has the Queen tracks on a separate CD

[00:27:05] Yeah, I

[00:27:07] Princess is my number one that thing like that opening for it

[00:27:14] Good like that just sets you the phone calls perfectly

[00:27:17] Yeah

[00:27:19] The most under way track is getting the prize. That's her games thing and that and I bought that song recently

[00:27:27] And it's got snippets from

[00:27:29] Fergen on it, which is really cool

[00:27:33] Then I'd go with who wants to live forever

[00:27:37] Nothing

[00:27:47] I mean who wants to live forever so that I have recently watched in

[00:27:53] orchestra perform that and

[00:27:56] Yeah, the woman who sang it was really good

[00:28:04] Because it's so hard to talk Freddie Mercury like you can't talk

[00:28:10] Yeah, yeah, I love I love that live a performance that ships funny as hell

[00:28:15] He's warming up with the crowd make people is like fuck you

[00:28:18] That's perfect

[00:28:21] That is absolutely

[00:28:23] I'm so good

[00:28:28] Yeah, Prince Princess of the universe is just absolutely

[00:28:36] Flawless there's no way to remake that and then you have ten move and in the source doing that shit

[00:28:48] I

[00:28:48] Did you lose the rights to Queen in 2007?

[00:28:52] Like come on man

[00:28:55] People major major major props doing the right accounting

[00:28:58] We're in major props and here's the part

[00:29:03] Panzer was involved with the source

[00:29:05] Yeah, and I like the rights again just like with eyeliner, too

[00:29:09] It's like who are your investors like how and then props to the search for vengeance for having

[00:29:16] the

[00:29:18] The got pretty hard to complain to those here from Japan

[00:29:23] It's wow, but I love that anime that is

[00:29:27] On sci-fi channel, and I was like, you know

[00:29:31] Unless of one, but now I get this. This is this dynamite. This is yes

[00:29:37] A return to franchise I wish and you mentioned the video game before and I I still didn't

[00:29:44] This day just when you see that, you know demo trailer

[00:29:48] You're just like so what wasn't working with this what?

[00:29:52] And then I did more research and found out there were two other games before

[00:29:57] 2007

[00:29:59] There was

[00:30:00] The one that followed the

[00:30:04] Movie and then there's the one that follows the animated series called last of them applauses

[00:30:09] And I was in the last school. Yeah, but 2007 game

[00:30:14] Like I saw that trailer and I was amped

[00:30:18] I still have the insert for the promotion on that

[00:30:23] But they got the advert on that shit from the animated

[00:30:26] It seemed like for a while it was just the butt of all jokes

[00:30:32] And it was and it was promising because you had a new McLeod and Owen

[00:30:35] There was so much time in between the original sequels people thought it was going to react to video online. Nope

[00:30:43] And it was

[00:30:46] You they took all the health meter and gave you an endurance for instead

[00:30:52] I know stamina stamina bar

[00:30:54] That's what it was when your stamina got too low you passed out from a fight. I'm like, that's not bad

[00:31:00] That's perfect. And then they just up and cancel it

[00:31:04] I guess it was too much work would make it all stick together and there was supposed to be

[00:31:09] appearances from donkey and

[00:31:12] Connor and I think

[00:31:14] Sean Connery, but I'm not sure but I remember that Duncan and Connor were one of the main those of the mainstays for

[00:31:23] But search for vengeance though that

[00:31:27] Collins quickening

[00:31:31] Absolutely

[00:31:32] She's like the books were pretty cool too and that they

[00:31:36] I've had Mac talk about it before they just acknowledged just some of the other characters just

[00:31:41] skeletons in their closets

[00:31:44] And I forgot there were highland so I forgot there were

[00:31:48] If you're going back to Star Trek and X-Files

[00:31:50] But it is similar in that it works as both a movie and as a show and that is a testament

[00:31:55] So whenever I see people

[00:31:58] talking about hey, you know

[00:32:00] They remade your favorite TV show as a movie and like well it can work look at SWAT in the fugitive

[00:32:05] You know now everyone has seen the TV version first the movie version, but both are their own

[00:32:12] deal and I

[00:32:15] I don't know dude. I think

[00:32:18] Like I had no interest in the fall guy just because who cares I just I didn't care but

[00:32:24] I've never seen the show and I've heard about it. I know of the whole gimme call it would stunt man becomes like a badass agent

[00:32:38] Yeah, it's just

[00:32:43] But I mean

[00:32:46] Even though Lambert didn't want anything to do with it. He was proud of it making his

[00:32:52] Career and Adrian Paul again. I I applaud how he

[00:32:57] Much like Nick Gillard who did the Star Wars prequel fights

[00:33:01] He I love how he teaches sword fights for fans was like, okay

[00:33:06] Like see that's as brilliant. That's a

[00:33:09] Maybe does strips to Scott Lou

[00:33:12] He's proud of his heritage and

[00:33:16] The funny thing is I had only seen parts of the show growing up, but what was so funny I

[00:33:24] Often would see a lot of B movies that

[00:33:29] Yeah, and he

[00:33:33] He can carry it and so it was always one of those like hey, he shouldn't be here

[00:33:37] But it's just such a good actor. So I I

[00:33:41] Think he his career looks way better compared to Lambert's who outside of gunmen which coincidentally costars

[00:33:49] Highlander free baddie Mario van Peebles. He's and a few other Albert Pion movies. He's just kind of

[00:33:56] Always looked like he was just struggling to with his English

[00:34:00] He always came off to me as if Dolph Lundgren had just not gone better as performer

[00:34:07] And

[00:34:07] Dolph would be a great Highlander. I'm just I said I would love no

[00:34:11] There's a lot of them that would have been good for this shit this whole franchise

[00:34:16] In fact, I want Dolph to be a Terminator one day as great as you're in a soul

[00:34:20] Let's have a crossover like my favorite the best actors that would fit Highlander today

[00:34:26] dead and alive

[00:34:29] Um

[00:34:30] Lance Reddick easily just he would have been so perfect. Did voice

[00:34:36] Yes Idris Elba because he's got that swagger and he can literally change his accent to whatever so he can be any generation

[00:34:46] Uh lucy lu

[00:34:49] Yeah, good call

[00:34:51] Biling love her she was in the breed with adrian

[00:34:56] Um there you go, Michelle Rodriguez

[00:35:01] Um

[00:35:03] Well

[00:35:04] Chadwick bozeman would be another good choice. Oh

[00:35:08] Yeah, um

[00:35:12] Trying to thank her so many that I like I'm read I'm reading in Washington. It's like oh, there's so many choices

[00:35:19] um

[00:35:23] Um

[00:35:28] Oh

[00:35:33] Mila drove a bitch

[00:35:36] Yes, can't be any worse than anything else. She's done

[00:35:40] Kate Beckinsale

[00:35:44] No, no charisma. Um, sorry not a whole guy

[00:35:49] happens

[00:35:51] Now what's the size

[00:35:56] Oh, that would be a lot of fucking fun just as easily as even a blind swordsman would be cool. He's like

[00:36:05] And donnie yin should make the route he should come back

[00:36:09] He was the best thing in the game. So like

[00:36:11] He after this

[00:36:13] I know like he's

[00:36:14] Hollywood but

[00:36:16] And they were trying to make it work like they wanted him for expendables. They're like, well, you've been filming hong kong with you and

[00:36:23] Just to know a bell and I know he had an ego and wan wu ping apparently had a big falling out with them

[00:36:29] He's like dude after iron monkey you and I were fucking done. Um, but they made up, but it's just

[00:36:35] I had no idea. I just thought hey, you know

[00:36:38] His career went in a solo direction much like jet lee and michel yo, but no not not the case

[00:36:42] He wanted to be the biggest man of but I don't think he was ever a jerk. He just

[00:36:48] He's feisty if you would he wasn't to the point of like

[00:36:54] uh

[00:36:55] Gary daniels where he could

[00:36:57] Like Gary daniels was apparently insufferable on the set of fist of the north star because he thought this was gonna

[00:37:03] Make his career take off and lo and behold it goes to

[00:37:06] You know

[00:37:07] The premier's on HBO and the premier is you know in other countries, but not the hit and everyone his career kind of just

[00:37:15] He again he was the director video Jason statham scott atkins, you know before that was a thing

[00:37:21] Um

[00:37:23] Denonio Reeves easily. Oh hell. Yeah. Oh, you know what?

[00:37:27] Following up brandon lee

[00:37:30] Yes, the crow and even the prophecy which is actually

[00:37:33] instantly by the writer of highlander have a lot of the same kind of deal of just accepting magic and

[00:37:40] Just making use of the character describing their backstory without it seeming like an exposition dump

[00:37:46] But I'll even do my Michael dry white

[00:37:49] Oh, fuck. Yeah. Yeah. I'm surprised he wasn't in one of these

[00:37:53] Um, Jason isan isan recurring villain on the show, but I would have loved to see that character have more screen time

[00:37:59] So here's one for you. He's a friend of brandon lee's and they coincidentally share the same stunt double, uh,

[00:38:05] Lou diamond Phillips

[00:38:07] Yes

[00:38:08] Absolutely, you could even be a cowboy eyeliner that'd be great

[00:38:12] Oh, i'm like get you mclad if they wanted to add a navajo twist. I'd go with that too. He's yes

[00:38:19] Oh my god, there's so many even just a filipino freedom fighter. That would be fucking awesome just someone

[00:38:25] Because that's the beauty of Danny trejo

[00:38:28] Oh, yes as cliche as it is

[00:38:31] I could see it. I could see

[00:38:33] Here's the twist so

[00:38:36] He he plays a community leader. He gets he who runs a church he gets shut down

[00:38:42] And then lo and behold

[00:38:44] Once he's buried he wakes up and he hasn't died and so

[00:38:48] He starts exacting his vengeance

[00:38:51] That that would be awesome and then of course some of the it would be instead of just

[00:38:58] uh

[00:38:59] Duncan or connor encountering him it was difficult to met those encounter them and said hey

[00:39:03] I always walked the gray line. I will help you with your quest

[00:39:06] But after this you gotta after we take down these

[00:39:10] gang bangers who are threatening your community we we got a

[00:39:12] We got to stop man. We got a

[00:39:15] got a

[00:39:16] you got you got a

[00:39:18] Maybe get some surgery or something just so

[00:39:21] Or better yet, he doesn't have to like people

[00:39:25] Because he has come back to life people really do start taking his teaching seriously now

[00:39:30] There's the irony and

[00:39:33] That so the closest you have to that is

[00:39:35] Andrew divaugh did have a secondary role the wish master. Yep

[00:39:38] He keeps invading this conversation because he's the best actor ever

[00:39:42] Hey, see he plays a religious cult leader who tries to convert a bunch of guys

[00:39:47] Oh boy, because you know he can't die dates him

[00:39:51] Oh, there you go

[00:39:57] Lost

[00:39:57] Um, we loved him in the hellboy movie

[00:40:01] Yes

[00:40:03] That casting and did not cast it. Is this like what do you think this role was for?

[00:40:09] Ed could have pulled the roll off too. Like I watched it twice

[00:40:13] And I'm like yeah ed or other than dead full. I I don't like him in anything else. Um

[00:40:19] I mean at least he bowed out that was cool. I will give him that he was the bigger man instead of

[00:40:26] Where's my trailer dude? Um

[00:40:30] Uh, it's pretty hard to goof up a highlighter like you are assisted by the whole magic thing

[00:40:34] So it's a low budget deal. It's a 20 to 50 million dollar deal

[00:40:39] To make it is also not that bad

[00:40:42] And the best part about that nobody really realizes and I mentioned this in the whole thread

[00:40:47] Is and I'll give you the link to that so you can share it with everybody. Um

[00:40:52] It's an ensemble cast and when you have

[00:40:56] Yes, the love interest is just as

[00:40:59] Key because she's the audience's connection to

[00:41:04] Understanding is like wait what and how am I gonna get police to help me when they don't you know

[00:41:10] Yeah, it's not just the biggest thing with the ensemble deal is when they're doing

[00:41:15] The era switching you switch areas you have the same cast

[00:41:20] In that era and it doesn't take much and the wardrobe department doesn't suffer because of it because they're like oh, yeah

[00:41:28] We're doing Victorian era. Okay. That's we don't have to worry about how you looked yesterday

[00:41:33] Yeah, and you don't if they're in the same section all you have to do is just redress the sets

[00:41:38] For that it's just like fake down this tapestry put this wallpaper up and then just switch it around

[00:41:45] And it's so cheap and it's so many outdoor locations. So you actually

[00:41:50] on a battlefield

[00:41:51] For real and it's so easy to do that and that's what's missing from today's movies is

[00:41:59] Even serious like it's the ensemble layout that's missing

[00:42:03] Energy never heard anything bad about any of the producers and directors who worked on it

[00:42:08] seemed like everyone knew their shit

[00:42:11] And the fact that roger daltry, you know, it was just so

[00:42:16] Yes, that's right. The main singer of the who is not as a highlander guys

[00:42:21] and

[00:42:22] and

[00:42:23] I don't know why enough people don't talk about it enough because he's just so

[00:42:28] as as who you know

[00:42:30] He was just supposed to be just a

[00:42:32] One off and he was so popular everyone was like bring him back and like well

[00:42:36] We just killed him. So he's gonna have to come back and flashbacks and

[00:42:39] He has just so many amusing fights and shit talking but

[00:42:44] he just

[00:42:46] he's basically

[00:42:47] It's just an you know

[00:42:49] Little known fact roger daltry was actually an actor before he became a

[00:42:53] You know singer and

[00:42:55] They loved it kind of just playing up his

[00:43:00] Just playboy theatrics and it's like see that that works for that

[00:43:06] That

[00:43:07] The least

[00:43:08] It's kind of like when ice tea was you know on svv. You know, it's like see he's

[00:43:13] Street wise dude and

[00:43:15] so it makes sense to just kind of

[00:43:18] Add that and that was one of those

[00:43:20] Cast switching deals too because you know you had your main cast and then they was yeah, I like my childhood

[00:43:27] Yes, I love the shit out of that because

[00:43:30] You had a good start off and then they're like, okay, we're switching people around

[00:43:34] I'm like why didn't this work with sequels dsv if they had done that in sequels

[00:43:38] The share would have been more popular but they rushed season three. They switched people out

[00:43:44] Nobody got enough time to expand on different stories and

[00:43:48] It's it's sad. It's a good series, but

[00:43:52] I think it'd be better if they just turned it into

[00:43:55] Okay

[00:43:55] So

[00:43:57] I still like how they're switching it up now. It's just

[00:44:01] I think that's is it. No one expected to go as long as it did and

[00:44:06] And it was educational that was

[00:44:09] Yeah, like yeah fucking robert ballard at the end of every episode telling you facts

[00:44:15] Like dude, that's cool. That's

[00:44:18] That's what I love most about the 90s shows

[00:44:22] Every single one of them had educational value in some way whether it was a PSA with power

[00:44:28] Yes, especially reading rainbow because

[00:44:33] I'll guess starting on there

[00:44:43] No, please don't

[00:44:58] I

[00:44:59] Oh

[00:44:59] But yeah going back to the books

[00:45:02] like

[00:45:03] Hey, like you say like

[00:45:06] Like the fact that they train a human, you know how to fight, you know rich that that was cool

[00:45:12] This is like see

[00:45:13] It's not just i'm immortal and just wait for me to heal and save your ass. He's like no we're all

[00:45:20] Here together we're all

[00:45:22] Answered to each other. We all like each other all trying to actually live

[00:45:25] you know as

[00:45:27] Say

[00:45:28] It's already said as it is that i'm gonna outlive you, you know

[00:45:31] And the closest other than sharing the same choreographer

[00:45:36] I always

[00:45:37] Where they were going one of the rings had a highlander connection to him

[00:45:40] I just like see the dunedane range. He says he's 800 years old, but you know does he looks like he's just 40, you know

[00:45:50] Yeah

[00:45:50] Yeah, ergon on yeah, I know

[00:45:53] The dunedane rangers and see I always thought they missed out on crossing that over sure

[00:45:58] I'm sure the token to stay it would have been like nope. I'm not doing that

[00:46:01] It's anyone who has a fanfiction. Please put it out there. You know that

[00:46:05] Those two belong together that would be so awesome. It would be fun in this version of the earth that was before

[00:46:13] now

[00:46:15] Yeah, but going back to the books. Yeah, I do remember there being highly under books

[00:46:21] And I remember that Buffy angel tracks or they all had books and shit

[00:46:27] Angel was kind of similar with how it approached the humor and

[00:46:32] Montages they walk in they're

[00:46:35] Using the humor not only to entertain the audience but also to tell you a little more about themselves

[00:46:40] especially when they're captured

[00:46:42] and see and

[00:46:44] Building on your 90s and 2000 point adds what I miss the most like when

[00:46:49] But I don't think anyone was taking note that whoever they had

[00:46:55] Once they quit or whatever or programming

[00:46:58] Changed for all networks and cable. I think they got to the point where like, oh, we don't remember why it's work

[00:47:03] so let's just

[00:47:05] Take all these scripts that still need some fine tuning from the and been in the shelf since the 80s and just

[00:47:11] rip off better movies

[00:47:14] Yeah, like I look back like the one thing the biggest success story of Buffy

[00:47:19] is

[00:47:21] Nicholas Brendan. She's the chosen. I'm just kidding

[00:47:24] He's an interesting guy

[00:47:26] Yeah, Nicholas started that out and he had a stuttering problem

[00:47:31] And playing that whole series seven years it helped him be able to talk

[00:47:38] That's beautiful now. He did spiral out of control for a while, but

[00:47:43] Yeah, going back to his original roots on Buffy like that helped him a lot like that's a success story

[00:47:50] I love that kind of shit. That's beautiful

[00:47:53] And you don't hear that anymore all year and I was like, oh we have sex scandals kids were right going sick

[00:48:00] and I'm like

[00:48:02] Great, what about positive shit? Like where's the good stories at like if you're something positive

[00:48:09] You got to scroll to the end of the clickbait article. I'm like he backs me

[00:48:12] I want to know something positive. I get that negativity cells, but come on

[00:48:21] Lowest common denominator man

[00:48:24] And I look at and hide there needs to be more sword fighting

[00:48:28] And I can't I love guns. I really do but fuck they're boring as hell

[00:48:35] It's like I do who shocks you with my neck

[00:48:39] They either don't stand out or some of them are just as bad

[00:48:46] It's like watching cod live action

[00:48:49] Every odd

[00:48:52] Call duty

[00:48:53] Oh

[00:48:58] Like what does this have to do with fish? Oh

[00:49:01] I mean we can go there

[00:49:06] Stumping fishy here. Well also

[00:49:13] Here's the issue with uh

[00:49:17] The uh

[00:49:19] With car chases like especially in the lethal weapons sequels take them out. Nothing changes other than

[00:49:25] The diehard and terminator movies they pretty much are just there to be fast and furious like car born

[00:49:30] I'm like see

[00:49:31] And the fast and furious nut jobs just are kooky too. Like kind of like with a saw crowd

[00:49:37] I just see somebody on there like that's I like that

[00:49:39] I'm like, but it's lazy. It doesn't do anything. You're like

[00:49:43] Yeah, this is how I'm like, well

[00:49:46] It doesn't work. It's actually a plot hole in saw that I remember now

[00:49:52] Oh, I I predicted the first plot to us which was like, of course the killer is the dead body on the floor

[00:49:57] There's no other suspects here. Um the plot hole that I remember because I've watched all the movies and I was like

[00:50:04] What happened to the girl in the trap? The little girl?

[00:50:09] Like where did she go to?

[00:50:11] And I watched all the films and I'm like

[00:50:14] Where's she at?

[00:50:16] And how it's like where the fuck is she?

[00:50:19] Like what happened to her?

[00:50:21] Where'd she go a lot of horror fans seem to like Highlander and

[00:50:24] Universal soldier and I think it's just kind of it's kind of like maniac cop and even chucky people like just

[00:50:31] More than the fighting

[00:50:33] And the thing with Highlander is there's no complexity. There's zero complexity. It's simple stuff

[00:50:41] Except for seasons free from five, but I know what you mean

[00:50:45] Yeah, there's sword fighting. It has an unintentional low brow can't be climbed to it before it gets great. So

[00:50:51] Yeah, look you got your sword fighting

[00:50:53] You they can only die by decapitation

[00:50:57] They can't have kids. They can't fight almost like phantasm words a road movie

[00:51:02] Yeah, we can't fight on holy ground

[00:51:05] If they don't stop these guys, they're gonna terrorize

[00:51:08] Future generations to come that's kind of the scarier part

[00:51:11] The only thing scarier and then I shoot you and you take a few minutes to respawn and wake up

[00:51:16] And if you're not awakened by then I've already capitated you like it's that and they always do those well

[00:51:22] especially throughout the show and parts of endgame they

[00:51:25] in fact, I even like a second movie where they're

[00:51:29] getting shot at and

[00:51:31] They take a minute to re-heal and just start knocking out all the palace guards and

[00:51:36] When I look back at it now, I always joke see Ramirez and Connor were the original Qui-Gon chain in obi-wan

[00:51:43] That's true

[00:51:43] And the in the final part of it is arrow switching

[00:51:48] Because it's fun. It's one of those things where that was you know exactly where you are and where you need to be

[00:51:54] And I'm sort of like the similar edits is like okay. Look giving how it's

[00:51:59] Suits actually believe or not does a similar filming style. You're not gonna believe me, but they really do like

[00:52:04] So-and-so's hair is cut down here. So this is clearly them in the 90s

[00:52:09] versus present day where they're at the front desk and they're talking this way now it's

[00:52:15] It's just so freeing from a visual standpoint and an editing perspective because

[00:52:20] We're in it and those are the scenes that are terrible. I'm sure you've written a script before it sucks

[00:52:25] I'm gonna go back and forth present day future day, you know

[00:52:30] And the what was so nice about the arrow switching was that that's a staple the 90s because

[00:52:36] It was always about going back because this was before the new millennium

[00:52:42] So you have yes every you had your history

[00:52:45] See if your history buffs and they're they're back in time in like the 15 to 1700s. You're like, oh

[00:52:52] Oh, that's the most crazy episode they did was

[00:52:55] Connor McLeod being one of the guys who was with the valkyrie fighters who bombed hitlers bunker. Oh, wow

[00:53:03] I hated how that ended but that's for a different reason

[00:53:06] I hate how the guy is trying to stop the neo nazis end up dying and like see

[00:53:11] That's bullshit

[00:53:11] But I get what they're trying to preach how you got to just arrest these shitheads who know

[00:53:18] Have no respect but um

[00:53:19] I yeah, you got some historical subtext and

[00:53:25] It was almost kind of like with

[00:53:27] Revealed that cancer man is shot JFK. It's just kind of just fun just joking around. It's like, okay. Let's just say for

[00:53:34] argument's sake this dude who you're following

[00:53:37] But you look at all the shows that were in syndication around the same time islander was going on yet

[00:53:42] Yeah, DS9

[00:53:44] You have yes, especially x-files

[00:53:47] Crap like

[00:53:49] Yeah, goofy stuff like nash bridges you had should renegade watch. Yep

[00:53:56] And it's wild that they watched lasted longer than tng

[00:54:01] Oh, yeah

[00:54:02] Because they both started they sorted two years apart from each other

[00:54:06] Did you ever see the funny fox promos for renegade and highlander?

[00:54:12] Weekdays on fox

[00:54:12] It's so funny because I missed that too like usa network would do it with her

[00:54:18] Cartoon network we'd even do it where all their characters are in one bumper and it's like see we're all this network is literally a universe

[00:54:24] We're all

[00:54:25] Guessing on each other's shit, but it's not interference. It's not for ratings. It's just because we can

[00:54:30] But we're breaking the rules and I love how

[00:54:34] Uh, morons of llamas is like watch my show and then adrian paul comes in watch my show

[00:54:39] So they're having kind of a fun kind of

[00:54:43] It was funny and see and I missed that now

[00:54:46] It's great cross promotion

[00:54:48] But now the only thing they do now is just have characters appear on each other's show and cvs does it and it drives me crazy because

[00:54:55] All the shows that are guessing aren't the same tone. They did it with murder. She wrote in

[00:55:00] magnum pi and you're like nope

[00:55:03] Totally different. It's clickbait

[00:55:06] And really there you go the 80s created clickbait before

[00:55:10] Scannels and tabloids, but I mean tabloids were always a thing going back to like the 40s, but it's just like

[00:55:16] It's interesting how

[00:55:18] Like you say it

[00:55:20] If everyone would just kind of acknowledge each other and just do a natural fun thing like hey run the same channel

[00:55:26] Let's do a fun

[00:55:28] crossover now when they do a crossover

[00:55:30] It's kind of like

[00:55:32] It's all about portion and stupid as hell. Yeah

[00:55:36] The wife I bow would do that and you just like stop the most underrated crossover that never happened

[00:55:44] Was homicide er and law

[00:55:48] They were on the same fucking

[00:55:51] They tried so many times that they were even going to do a nine

[00:55:55] Uh

[00:55:56] An episode that was almost kind of like the siege or something

[00:56:01] Where a big attack happens in new york by terrorists, but then 9 11 happens there like we can't do that. I'm like well you show

[00:56:08] So mag is like

[00:56:10] The shows and then like the shield would have been great if it had crossed over some other pretty stuff like justified

[00:56:16] It'd be perfect, but I get it

[00:56:19] Um

[00:56:20] Technically though the shield is another universe is that shawrion has worked on because they keep using the same gangsters

[00:56:25] so it's technically

[00:56:27] connected to the unit and

[00:56:29] sons of anarchy

[00:56:31] Nice

[00:56:32] Even what?

[00:56:36] There's so many

[00:56:39] Shamar more would be a great highlander

[00:56:42] Shamar

[00:56:44] You've seen him in sonic 2. He's the cop and

[00:56:48] I've never seen in sonic. You haven't seen in the sonic groups

[00:56:52] No

[00:56:52] How why don't like sonic

[00:56:56] Sonic

[00:56:56] It's still a good movie even if you don't like the game. I don't like sonic

[00:57:03] You're with a watch sonic

[00:57:06] No

[00:57:09] Sonic don't work good

[00:57:11] Super mario brothers movies good even if you don't play mario brothers. I like the original

[00:57:18] Ah

[00:57:20] Anyway

[00:57:23] I'll give you the street fighter movie. Um

[00:57:25] I love that too. I will give you that and speaking of which we're all hulia and

[00:57:30] Yes

[00:57:33] Oh my god him as a highlander you fucking hilarious it'd be perfect. It's the best chemistry doing is just wool

[00:57:43] Leg ups and you're like what are you doing? He's like oh something cryptic

[00:57:49] What do you have an accent I don't know where I'm from

[00:57:53] My island

[00:57:57] Oh man

[00:57:59] Schultz nigger be amazing, but he would want some serious control is like

[00:58:03] I need your clothes your sword

[00:58:07] And your jupy now

[00:58:11] Give me all immortality

[00:58:13] That being said though. I would have actually loved to see him a greater

[00:58:17] Liam Neeson has won. Oh

[00:58:19] The closest you got is captain panaca is the black highlander in the original, you know him from fairness

[00:58:26] There's a star with connection. Um

[00:58:29] I'm surprised clancy brown hasn't returned to it in some way like

[00:58:32] Been like i'm the brother of the kergen

[00:58:35] Hey, my I mean it's it's possible

[00:58:39] We'll do it anyway

[00:58:41] I mean he's done so many roles in the years

[00:58:45] It's wild

[00:58:46] Yeah, like you look at everybody's careers and where they were during that time frame. It's like holy shit

[00:58:55] Like they were babies

[00:58:57] And then these look at that and then where they landed now

[00:59:01] Like I want to see kergen versus mr. Krabs. That's shit

[00:59:07] That was sell of course he went so well

[00:59:12] It's very the burning

[00:59:14] Right away. Give me my knee

[00:59:17] Oh my god

[00:59:19] How did kergen get to bikini bob? How did we get here?

[00:59:23] How did we get here? Oh my god, it would be the most it would make a great fucking tattoo or a portrait that hanging around like

[00:59:31] So it's got all these tattoos and people's heads in his closet everyone's like, uh, you okay?

[00:59:38] Oh

[00:59:43] Stitch

[00:59:45] Lilo and stitch this stitch is a highlander

[00:59:53] It's a funny shit, uh

[00:59:58] Senjai drisselba

[01:00:01] Yeah

[01:00:03] um

[01:00:05] Mountain now, he's easy as hell though

[01:00:10] I know he's more of them. Oh

[01:00:14] John Carlin

[01:00:15] s zero

[01:00:17] Yeah, that's fencing highlander

[01:00:20] And I wanted to be a good guy this time

[01:00:22] I'm the bad guy. He's done it to death. He can do it in his sleep

[01:00:27] That would be fun

[01:00:28] Hey, he was super like all these people are so perfect for the roles and yet they'll never capitalize on it because

[01:00:36] every other it's a

[01:00:39] Highlander is such an underrated under the radar fandom franchise

[01:00:45] that has a small following to it

[01:00:49] And nobody wants to talk about it or they're ashamed to they like oh, no

[01:00:55] I don't want to talk about something that's from the 80s. No

[01:00:57] Yeah

[01:01:01] It's like yeah, like dude

[01:01:04] It's worth talking about like especially with resurgence coming with Henry Cavill

[01:01:10] Like I don't know how Henry do with that. I don't know

[01:01:14] I know you're gonna not see it unless it's on a show timely tonight

[01:01:18] I am anxious to see if Matisse is really gonna play Kerrigan because one he's got stature for it. He really does

[01:01:27] That's my problem. He's got the body. He's just got

[01:01:31] He's got much going on in that head

[01:01:33] I mean, he's really matured in roles though

[01:01:36] Like where he started and transitioning to an actor like I think he's done good

[01:01:45] It depends on what role it's though

[01:01:48] But for me, I think he's done really good

[01:01:51] In terms of transitioning versus the rock and john singha and stone cold and triple H

[01:01:59] Like between all of them Matisse that has done really fucking

[01:02:04] For himself. Oh, I love him. Yep. He's a great Highlander

[01:02:08] Yeah, him is Kerrigan that I'd be fucking crazy to see

[01:02:19] Um, oh there's a

[01:02:22] Oh, no, if I can't think of his name

[01:02:25] I cannot

[01:02:27] No, I was when I was writing my Highlander fanfic. We'll get segueing into that

[01:02:33] There's one

[01:02:34] Native American guy that I really like

[01:02:38] Adam

[01:02:39] No

[01:02:44] What did it

[01:02:45] But he's not good. I'm saying you know, he's too nice. Well, he's too

[01:02:48] He has the kind factor going he doesn't have me factor, you know

[01:02:53] This guy's got the mean look

[01:02:58] No, I really like this guy a lot and I was and I wanted him for my story for casting because

[01:03:07] Um

[01:03:09] That's who I thought of

[01:03:12] And I could not

[01:03:14] Think of his damn name and I look look look I was like, okay, that's who it is

[01:03:20] Oh, wait a minute. No, I put the cast listing down stupid

[01:03:27] Sanji

[01:03:32] Oh man, ah, there we go his name is

[01:03:37] Tokyo poo

[01:03:40] mcclornan

[01:03:41] I'll show you I'm a cardin. Um, yeah, it's toki y a

[01:03:48] uh hyphen k u mc

[01:03:53] capital C l a r and o n

[01:04:05] Yeah, he's got that mean

[01:04:07] And I liked him. Oh well, I've seen him in a couple films. I like that guy's face like he's got that look

[01:04:14] And that energy too

[01:04:18] I just came from a movie he was and I liked a lot

[01:04:22] But yeah, he

[01:04:24] Yeah, that dude's awesome

[01:04:27] um

[01:04:34] Angelina Jolie

[01:04:36] Yes

[01:04:37] Yes

[01:04:38] No, yes, absolutely like that makes sense. She can do the actions. You can do the drama. She can yeah

[01:04:46] Definitely

[01:04:47] um

[01:04:52] Kate wins living interesting

[01:04:55] Yeah, I told I see that

[01:04:58] She's not really a fighting type though, but like I can see her like

[01:05:03] Trying her bet. Yeah, she would try her best with it. Definitely like she is one of those actresses where he's just like, hey, you know

[01:05:12] Ah

[01:05:13] Helen Mirren

[01:05:15] Yes

[01:05:17] Definitely how I don't know how we didn't even have to think he's like

[01:05:19] That makes sense. Like there are those actors like I know it's he's overused but anything happens that would make sense

[01:05:27] Like he has that mysterious aura to him if he wants to be just the narrator

[01:05:33] Word

[01:05:33] I love Helen Mirren so much. We just mentioned bandera's health

[01:05:38] Yes

[01:05:39] Anyone who's seen 13th war will instantly agree with you. I just kind of he's

[01:05:44] he can

[01:05:45] If it's mysterious if it's spora if it's an unusual accident, he will do it. He is a giving man

[01:05:51] any

[01:05:51] Uh, I've been I've gone through his Spanish language movies and oh wow the dude has

[01:05:58] Again, there's a reason he was a hit over here in America and internationally. He has that

[01:06:06] Deal where he can he has charisma, but he also just has just

[01:06:10] dedication for lack of better word like

[01:06:14] He knows what he's getting into. He's not

[01:06:18] Holding back he

[01:06:20] He will do it. He will get it

[01:06:23] Oh, what's her name from altered carbon would be a motor good choice. Oh, uh, damian lichman

[01:06:29] I think that's it the

[01:06:33] Hawaiian-american gal are you talking about? Yeah? What's her name?

[01:06:36] Uh, but hell

[01:06:40] What's her name? Uh

[01:06:42] Rene Elise eckelberry from

[01:06:45] That in hamilton like yeah, she she's cool too. Um

[01:06:49] In fact

[01:06:50] Daniel did not daniel think in anthony dell who was you know

[01:06:55] One of the versions one of the skins

[01:06:59] Yeah, you know him also from a lecture on the wolverine

[01:07:05] Yeah, I think so. Yeah, and

[01:07:07] Even brian man who's one of the other versions that all these guys who

[01:07:12] Have been doing everything they would do mainstream

[01:07:15] movies and then

[01:07:17] Direct video and tv shows and then

[01:07:20] Now that they're on some streaming shows like woo assassins everyone wants to work with them likes they've been here all years

[01:07:26] I've known him since checking out their shit at the video store

[01:07:30] It's funny even billy zane. Oh

[01:07:32] Yeah

[01:07:35] He was in a similar movie kind of like that called invincible nothing to do with the kirkman show

[01:07:42] I don't know that

[01:07:43] It was a cheesy

[01:07:45] tv s movie

[01:07:47] That was a down

[01:07:50] But it's just so funny how he was giving so much. Well, and as I said, he kind of was still in phantom mode

[01:08:00] Yeah, but I love wouldn't that be funny if they redid the uh, I mean I have like some bomb in phantoms, but they did it with

[01:08:07] please

[01:08:09] I

[01:08:11] Like hella mirin like when they announced mad up why was like dude, there's hella mirin right there

[01:08:17] Please hella mirin fit the role

[01:08:21] Fabulously she is sitting gig all she had to do is sit there and lecture swatering not hard to do

[01:08:27] And they go

[01:08:28] Fuck

[01:08:35] But anywhere

[01:08:38] But you're so right

[01:08:41] Like all these choices and shit like everything I like diverse choices. I can't stand

[01:08:47] The same mother fucking call occasion and shit like give me somebody who's different and then you get all these other

[01:08:54] people

[01:08:55] Wigging out

[01:08:56] And see what I did the wiggas

[01:08:59] And they're acting like

[01:09:02] Fucking howly g can be a goddamn island

[01:09:09] It's so funny to bring that up because that's the key part of talladega nights where such a bearing going places

[01:09:15] That guy and that and ricky bobby doesn't just terrible

[01:09:20] Sure why not

[01:09:23] As g in a grino

[01:09:26] Oh my god

[01:09:28] Well, then we got to get dana carving kevin niland in this mix. Um, oh god

[01:09:33] Let's get mike mires and be a scott's

[01:09:35] Oh, yeah laddie

[01:09:38] Get all the extras from brave hard who are all overweight and how to work

[01:09:44] Oh work

[01:09:48] Brendan glacin be great, um, you know mad eye moody from here butter

[01:09:54] Yeah, he's been another epic like kingdom of heaven and even played donald trump recently and

[01:10:00] That one's showtime on these series, but yeah, he's been in troi and brave hard

[01:10:06] And good Irish man

[01:10:10] Man

[01:10:11] Yeah, that was on the list too

[01:10:17] Never once gone on sue

[01:10:21] On sue

[01:10:23] Sue

[01:10:26] What man?

[01:10:27] Yes. Oh shaman hanshaw. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah

[01:10:33] Yeah

[01:10:36] Have you seen the grand charisma movie yet?

[01:10:40] Yes, I saw it in d box. I was like

[01:10:43] I actually did get to see them theaters and I was like this dude

[01:10:47] This is a fun poker movie, but he is giving this

[01:10:50] A

[01:12:20] Better than the movie. I'm like

[01:12:22] He can be my mentor any day

[01:12:26] Uh, i'm very Andre braggar if you were still with us um

[01:12:31] Oh, yes

[01:12:33] I know he's typecast is like a washington guy or a cop but like he

[01:12:39] He's been a fan since I saw him in glory, which was his first movie ever made. Um, just like see this guy has a way of just

[01:12:47] Announcing just some philosophy on screen that is just some really

[01:12:53] understated

[01:12:55] Hell if you want to get all technical Scott baccala think about it

[01:13:00] Yeah

[01:13:01] He did a quality video as a highlighter

[01:13:04] Oh god that'd be beautiful

[01:13:07] That would be so wild

[01:13:11] God that'd be the wildest fucking crossover ever highlander quantumly

[01:13:16] Holy shit that writes itself

[01:13:19] Yeah, damn

[01:13:21] All this is like I've done but they just didn't for some weird ass reason

[01:13:27] Who owns the rights to Highlander now?

[01:13:30] Uh anchor bay which is part of lions gate. So yeah

[01:13:35] Dimension films I think surrendered it to um even post Weinstein so

[01:13:41] Yeah

[01:13:43] I remember because they own the rights the first two movies and the show so it's like yeah

[01:13:48] And the fifth awful movies. So there you go

[01:13:52] Surrendered through movies free and four to them and I think the anime is under them as well. So yeah

[01:13:58] That works

[01:14:00] Yeah, it all works you can get one of those milk freak blu-ray kids and I always love how they sell it all together because otherwise no one's gonna buy movies

[01:14:09] After part

[01:14:11] Like I love

[01:14:14] I like the source. It's good. Its only problem is that it's a product 2007

[01:14:22] Where they have to look like majors in blade

[01:14:25] Yeah, like every like we talked about that for no reason

[01:14:29] You like yeah, like we talked about that during pitch black podcast

[01:14:34] For riddick and all that yes, and how to yeah 2000s stuff. Yes

[01:14:39] It's it's so much because there it was too many. There's too many explosion shots

[01:14:46] They can be cut down

[01:14:48] You can cut out temu queen and put an actual queen

[01:14:55] Um

[01:14:56] What even the sex scene make out seems kind of bad um

[01:15:04] And

[01:15:06] The thing I didn't like about the ending now the ending back then I was like, oh this is really cool. I love that

[01:15:13] But then I rewatch it and I'm like so Duncan has a kid with Anna

[01:15:20] and

[01:15:22] He's no longer in the game

[01:15:26] And that was it he surrendered. So yeah, it's an end

[01:15:30] To the highly

[01:15:31] Yeah, I love it

[01:15:36] Yeah, my fan pick picks up

[01:15:39] with

[01:15:40] Duncan and Anna having a kid. Oh and how good runner

[01:15:45] They have for real and how you know their son Shawn

[01:15:53] Let's

[01:15:54] Tony job would be great. Did you ever see transfers for dolman one of those full moon movies?

[01:16:01] Chance I know scanners but not transfers. No, no, so those were by the puppet master guys

[01:16:07] Yeah, I remember the dumb ass rape scene from puppet master

[01:16:12] Stace that was so funny

[01:16:16] Now rape is horrible but that movie with

[01:16:19] Uh, wasn't it tolin? Yeah, I was tolin doing this shit and it's just that slow mo face. He's doing

[01:16:28] He's like

[01:16:30] I'm like

[01:16:31] Why is that funny? That's not supposed to be funny. That's horrible

[01:16:37] Yeah, well so chan thompson is a comedian

[01:16:40] There's great voiceovers

[01:16:43] And

[01:16:44] He's in all these b movies, you know

[01:16:46] basically

[01:16:48] Transfers was a blade runner terminator cash in with a back to the future kind of time travel and

[01:16:54] His character was very much like ash and evil dead

[01:16:58] Just three years later the same kind of deal. He's killing these guys who were kind of dead eyes inside

[01:17:04] And he's time travels

[01:17:06] So it's just but he's always just badass and dry and you're like man

[01:17:09] This dude could read the phone book. He's so entertaining

[01:17:14] That's funny

[01:17:17] It's my fan that follows shawnings jerry

[01:17:22] And sort of funny he follows in his father's footsteps

[01:17:26] I'll follow your father's footsteps

[01:17:28] at which one

[01:17:32] You can't offend someone who you don't know shit about

[01:17:37] Oh

[01:17:37] Those you don't know I have three fathers. I'm like, oh shit

[01:17:43] Yep, three if you beat up one of them still got two-thirds

[01:17:48] Well, hi one died of a heart attack

[01:17:53] And the other my dad I don't really know he's uh

[01:17:58] I also gave my info to rena too so she's gonna look into it

[01:18:03] Ah

[01:18:03] eventually

[01:18:05] Yeah, so

[01:18:07] If I live shawnings shawing following in his father's footsteps

[01:18:12] And becoming highlander himself at a fat the forced age of 10

[01:18:17] Which was shitty

[01:18:19] But he doesn't take his first head until he's 26

[01:18:22] So instead of being the usual protagonist of starting at 16

[01:18:28] Like every other fucking why adult book a YA

[01:18:35] Movie I decided to bump that shit

[01:18:38] And it's really good like my original layout for it is still good. I post the whole things on wattpad

[01:18:47] It's called highlander synergy originally. It was brothers of the immortal

[01:18:51] and then I decided to just I've been re-editing and

[01:18:57] Rewriting different parts of it because

[01:19:00] There was so much it's so good. I kept the original version

[01:19:04] But I need to cut a lot of shit out of the original. So it's a little more

[01:19:09] flowing better and

[01:19:12] Um when I finish it

[01:19:15] Whenever the hell I don't be

[01:19:18] Yeah, um, it just takes me forever to finish a book story dude

[01:19:22] I want all the time in the world to start getting back to script writing

[01:19:25] Yeah, and

[01:19:28] I want to I want to share it with adrian and see what he thinks of it

[01:19:36] Oh

[01:19:38] It's honestly it all comes back to islander at the end of the day like there's a reason we talk about it

[01:19:43] Like it made it possible to talk about fantasy

[01:19:46] That wasn't just our 30 in or sword and sorcery anymore

[01:19:49] It's like what if you had a secret cult you answered to each other you fight a certain way

[01:19:56] it

[01:19:58] And the best part is it's

[01:20:01] Easy to get into and walk away from at the same time because it's not

[01:20:06] Like you can be like that was cool kind of overrated. You can be like that was fun

[01:20:12] That was schlocky, but worth seeing like we referenced it even more than we realized

[01:20:18] You know we reference it

[01:20:20] For real like you look at it and it's so easy. There's so many there's so it's easy to sink into

[01:20:27] It's not like star wars or trek or

[01:20:31] Dnd or mcg or you have to death

[01:20:34] Yes, I know

[01:20:36] Where you have to like pick a side that's the worst part. There's no pick aside in highlander

[01:20:41] It's just you can like whoever the hell you want you can be in the mythos or you can be in the dump

[01:20:47] First economy versus the stars

[01:20:49] Yeah, it's like you can pick whatever you like you can enjoy the comics or books

[01:20:55] You can enjoy the movies or the shows nobody's telling you what to do

[01:21:00] You know that's good so much fun about that

[01:21:05] Who's the top mclow?

[01:21:07] Oh good question

[01:21:08] Like for me

[01:21:10] I don't think because he's still alive

[01:21:13] I love dunking the death like uh, so

[01:21:18] I would literally kiss that man. I'm a straight individual but I would give him a big ass hug and be like, you know what dude

[01:21:25] Give me a kiss or a baby

[01:21:28] Love you like I don't know hug. I love you in a non homo way

[01:21:34] Guy crush demolished

[01:21:37] Be careful using the word demolished

[01:21:40] One um, I would also go with like out of everybody who has

[01:21:46] Everybody in that clan that I like so far. I would have to go with

[01:21:53] Your face

[01:21:56] I am your face mclow the plan

[01:21:59] I am your ass mclough. Um

[01:22:04] My ass was born in the islands of Scotland

[01:22:08] Bloody hell

[01:22:12] Oh

[01:22:13] Oh, here's a good brawl server and I'll give my answer

[01:22:17] Islander

[01:22:19] Easy

[01:22:21] Uh, be careful now now you've just made it part of the evil deadverse

[01:22:26] Ew gross

[01:22:27] They did a con of a crossover

[01:22:30] And ash is part of freddy and jason so now mclough is going to be getting an efficient from freddy

[01:22:37] And he could handle it like you can keep killing me and I'm gonna keep coming back to life

[01:22:43] He it's pretty hard because that's the other thing I like is like these guys are technically zombies

[01:22:47] You can't heal them

[01:22:50] Vampires for real, but without the blood

[01:22:53] I would have to pick

[01:22:56] Call with mclough. He's my he's one of my top favorites next to Duncan

[01:23:01] I love connor

[01:23:05] And then hugh the altruist character and then joe

[01:23:12] Some of the other

[01:23:14] Amanda the blonde gal she's awesome. And then yeah, I mean she got her own spinoff come on

[01:23:19] Yeah, and people give them one so much hate for me

[01:23:23] That's season 7 of highlighter in my mind

[01:23:25] And I think a lot of people just

[01:23:28] Because the she was like cue from star track, but for us who are naughty is like see i'm okay with naughty

[01:23:37] 247 see

[01:23:39] because it wasn't lowbrow for

[01:23:41] Spinoff it could have easily been a crappy version of like la femme macchita and he's like no, it's

[01:23:45] It's her story too

[01:23:47] No, I will give an honor

[01:23:50] to

[01:23:51] From the game like I think his story

[01:23:55] Would have been a lot of fun to find out that's where they need to go with the franchise

[01:23:59] Have a new guy who's never been there people will accept them on their own

[01:24:03] I mean they did it with bablon 5 and I'm gonna get some flag for this, but I liked legend of the rangers and

[01:24:10] When we did our whole ranking dude, I had never seen a more positive b5 chat

[01:24:15] Everyone almost always likes to shit on season 5 or the movies and i'm just like it's dumb like dude

[01:24:22] The reason I got into this was a cold arms

[01:24:26] Wow, the very end as I was a tony todd fan and I watched anything he's in and he was in that and I was just like hey

[01:24:32] I see why my uncle watched this back when he

[01:24:36] Was an unhappily married and blah blah blah and

[01:24:39] I see why this was a cold hit and it's just it's low budget

[01:24:43] But the story is so visual that

[01:24:46] You can handle the cd rom era

[01:24:49] Do a look of graphics, but

[01:24:51] We did our ranking dude

[01:24:54] Four years and it's so bulls** like they wanted it to die. They're just like let's have it play the same day as a sports game

[01:25:00] I'm like you idiots

[01:25:03] Repeat it and I didn't watch for the longest time because I saw so much hate but

[01:25:07] I I wouldn't watch the shit out of that. I would have been cool with that because instead of just being the billionth

[01:25:13] I mean it would have been like stargate where it's not trying to be like another version of

[01:25:18] Long order or star track. It's just like it's its own thing and occasionally we have the characters

[01:25:23] Acknowledge we're in the same verse, but it's not to the point of

[01:25:27] You gotta it's not like buffier angel where you gotta watch you know season two episode five in order to make sense of season

[01:25:34] One episode 15, you know, it's it's not chaotic just watching all the parts together. It's more like hey

[01:25:42] we're

[01:25:43] leading into this and that and

[01:25:45] If you're ready get ready for four explosive hours of epic tv

[01:25:50] We're just like Babylon five and I've

[01:25:54] The crusade show we we were so positive about and it's so unheard of dude. I see so many people they they will s**t on it

[01:26:00] Unless they watch it in chronological order

[01:26:03] Like I've gone into depth about beat five and my reviews handle on the podcast

[01:26:09] You're not gonna get any better

[01:26:10] I had so much fun just re-editing those f*****g reviews because we had so many when we originally did it

[01:26:16] We had crappy sound and

[01:26:18] hiccups and repeated ourselves splitting it up was more digestible and then to

[01:26:24] Do an ultimate ranking and then do a villain specials like see

[01:26:28] We're not gonna get any better than that. Everyone else wants to chronicle each episode. I can't do that dude every episode is too dense

[01:26:34] It's not bad. I'm just saying it's gonna get a lot. I could do a season

[01:26:40] You know what I like best about beat five is that that

[01:26:46] There's a beautiful reverse trilogy with valin

[01:26:49] I love that that take off so f*****g well. They're kind of like the watchers here

[01:26:55] Yeah, really they are and the funny part is that so many people were divided on Sinclair or Sheridan

[01:27:03] And I like both of them. They're both greats. Sheridan take them

[01:27:09] This is it too dude. It's like everybody wants a contest. Who's my favorite doctor?

[01:27:14] Who's my favorite comedian that they did? I'm sure you've heard of how they did with mystery science theater Joel versus Mike

[01:27:20] That's like who did I watch?

[01:27:23] Um

[01:27:24] I watched it in the late 90s when wax was on sci-fi

[01:27:28] So you probably saw Mike, but yeah, I like Mike. I didn't watch the original Joel

[01:27:34] All right, so I good and now we got Jonah and I liked how that actor Jonah Ray was even joking in person

[01:27:40] It was like this is going to be the next doctor who discussion. I'll be the

[01:27:43] And if this doesn't get more than one season, I'm gonna be the Christopher Eccleston out

[01:27:50] But see this is it it's kind of like with Batman and uh Robin Hood

[01:27:54] This is like well depends on how it's written the style. It's not just the portrayer

[01:27:59] Yeah, but so many people do this this is like oh

[01:28:04] um

[01:28:05] Oh, what the fuck was that show on u pn?

[01:28:09] Oh, there's a bunch

[01:28:13] No level nine. I don't know the Sentinel

[01:28:16] Yes, that that mother fucker. That was very highlander as yeah, richard

[01:28:21] So I

[01:28:22] He's him I have hated him since he was one of the bad guys in the first season of 24

[01:28:28] I don't hate him as a person. I'm just saying I

[01:28:32] He was always a bad guy and every other thing I saw him in and so he was so much fun

[01:28:37] Just kind of I I knew it took me years to watch that show but around the 2010s

[01:28:42] They started showing reruns finally on get tv and

[01:28:46] I just love how I just made you lose your shit. You're like, oh, what do you do?

[01:28:49] I'm like nothing. He's fine. I'm just saying he did his job very well

[01:28:52] Like he

[01:28:55] You believe it, um

[01:29:06] No, I

[01:29:08] I love to hate him because he's doing his job so well

[01:29:14] He did a good job. Oh my god, he's a bad guy man

[01:29:20] He is so freaky he's just and that's like his only good guy role but it was so much like kind of

[01:29:28] Like the weapon means highlander meets stargat

[01:29:31] He's like four seasons though, man. That was a good run

[01:29:34] That's an awesome show. I swear we will do a u p n special

[01:29:38] Yes, but it's just so funny watching it now because I did you ever watch those p.m. Entertainment movies grown up?

[01:29:45] which ones

[01:29:47] So but you've heard of them

[01:29:50] I you'd have to specify

[01:29:53] Okay, so long story short

[01:29:55] These two producers in vegas made these schlocky direct-a-video made for tv action movies that often aired

[01:30:02] on tnt after wrestle media or hv o and they were

[01:30:06] They were just cheesy independent b movies like tech war

[01:30:11] They were kind of like tech war some of them, but mainly they had

[01:30:15] all these martial arts actors

[01:30:17] Like gary daniel's jeff speakman and jeff wind god and

[01:30:23] They were even michael madson was in a few and they were just oh he would be a perfect highlander

[01:30:28] Oh

[01:30:31] I would want to be a hero for once and like a king instead of the big

[01:30:36] guy slicing people's ears off, but they were funny because dude like they would have the most

[01:30:42] They would just be kind of lethal weapon or

[01:30:46] Uh terminator knockoffs, but they were so funny because they had really cool car chases and then they just go into slow motion

[01:30:52] He'd be like that's the stupidest shit i've ever seen but it's so awesome

[01:30:56] And tom seismor may he rest in peace will be a good highlander

[01:31:03] And from my helmet adam like he doesn't say

[01:31:10] So who's the best if you get him on a leash he'd be good. Um, yeah in his prime. He was good. Hi speaking of prime ryan

[01:31:18] man

[01:31:23] Hey

[01:31:24] Jason board is a

[01:31:28] Gary oldman

[01:31:30] Oh, didn't that be too crazy, but sure or not it would fit though like he's so damn good

[01:31:37] Uh, what is he not good? Um

[01:31:40] I don't know that's the hard part like you cannot find like there are so many movies that actors and actresses have done over the years

[01:31:57] And it's

[01:31:58] There's so hard to pick a bad movie out of there

[01:32:03] catalog because

[01:32:04] My least favorite is

[01:32:17] Um, it's Brad Pitt, isn't it? I don't know. I don't mind Brad Pitt. He's in Troy's

[01:32:23] Mike the only one that's

[01:32:36] Michael McManus

[01:32:38] Fuck I know that name from nip talk, I think

[01:32:42] No

[01:32:48] From

[01:32:52] Looking at

[01:32:54] Michael it's been a while since I've looked anybody up. So I'm just like I know the name but it's like

[01:33:01] no

[01:33:01] Michael Cudlitz

[01:33:11] There's two versions I think you mean I think you think of julian mcmahon

[01:33:15] No, well, yeah julian's one, but I'm thinking of michael mcmanus from doctor doom. It's just the movie

[01:33:22] No, michael was in lex. That's who I'm thinking of

[01:33:26] Oh

[01:33:27] Yeah

[01:33:28] Nice perfect. Um, so who is the

[01:33:32] The best highlander villain

[01:33:36] Oh, well, we were kind of indecisive. We kind of agreed eventually

[01:33:41] We had to be

[01:33:44] Oh, we we had a bunch and

[01:33:46] We we we had a lot of the recurring villains on the show. I'm sorry

[01:33:52] But um, I'll go with me. I'm gonna go jaco kill

[01:33:58] Yeah, I bet that I'm also cheating just because I love

[01:34:02] Bruce payne everything he's just a friend and then I loved him and that

[01:34:06] passenger 57 and then this and you're like, whoa

[01:34:11] so, uh

[01:34:12] The main main villain on highlander show that everyone needs to just study on how to make a compelling villain

[01:34:21] uh, definitely would

[01:34:23] Not not the kurgan but um

[01:34:26] He has a name and I can never get it. Um

[01:34:32] It was very specific and he had just like a incredible arc. He's a good voice actor. It would be callus

[01:34:42] as well as

[01:34:44] Xavier st cloud

[01:34:47] he

[01:34:48] was also amazing just because

[01:34:51] He was played by the lead singer of fine young cannibals

[01:34:55] Oh great

[01:34:56] and he was

[01:34:59] Bad ass like I'm like man in same deal like

[01:35:03] Back in the message board days like just like a b5 like they interacted so closely with the producers and they're like, we want him back

[01:35:09] You know, you shut the story arc and they're like, okay. We're bringing him back. So I

[01:35:15] For twitter message boards were ideal and just telling people. Hey, I'm watching your shit. I'm recording it

[01:35:21] after

[01:35:23] six o'clock every night

[01:35:25] Yes, we're gonna recording when I was watching. Oh, yeah

[01:35:30] I was watching um dark side of the ring and

[01:35:35] Now which

[01:35:36] I promise we will do an episode of that. We've been able to talk documentaries. I know. Um, I'm trying to think which territory it was

[01:35:44] Um, I'll mark your territory. Um, I want to say it was this

[01:35:49] now the west territories maybe

[01:35:53] that

[01:35:54] um

[01:35:56] Somebody was a part of camera the rest of the name

[01:36:00] But they their wife

[01:36:03] They had law the network they were with had lost all the tapings

[01:36:09] But the wife

[01:36:11] Had been taping it since day one on vhs

[01:36:17] VHS

[01:36:18] Since day one back in the 70s. She's an unofficial agent now. She's not just a great man

[01:36:23] Yeah, they laws I forget what the hell the territory was

[01:36:27] But I'm looking for midwest. I think it was midwest south

[01:36:31] I think and the one wife

[01:36:34] Was videotaping all these matches on vhs back in 80s and stuff

[01:36:40] And it was everything all their matches that showed up on tv on vhs. She taped them religiously

[01:36:48] And they're working to restore it

[01:36:51] Yes

[01:36:53] So you can watch all these old he shouldn't make a patreon so

[01:36:58] Yeah, I don't know that's interest. It's a lot of tapes

[01:37:02] From that time frame the ghost or the mystery science theater keeps circulating those tapes

[01:37:09] Missed that um, yeah, I was surprised like damn

[01:37:13] And the best thing about tv back then that people today don't cherish

[01:37:21] reruns

[01:37:23] Because if you missed it the day at air you had one chance on weekend

[01:37:29] Yeah, watch this guy into the end of time and see dude

[01:37:33] You you don't have the

[01:37:36] opportunity to be on good terms with your mom which is a shame but like I

[01:37:40] Have to explain. I'm on good terms. I get along with both my folks, but like I lucky

[01:37:45] I am I am a lucky bastard, but um

[01:37:47] I

[01:37:50] Uh, it got to where it's just like I sometimes actually explained to her

[01:37:54] You know my father gets it because he's a music buff like I'm like, so why did they never release this show on duty?

[01:37:59] I'm like, it's never gonna be released. Well, why'd you say that? I'm because the

[01:38:04] The network is X always hated it secretly and they want to not acknowledge that part of the past

[01:38:09] Yeah, there's music rides. So until someone forks over the bill or not

[01:38:14] I'm getting it. You're messing and it's really sad too. Like today's culture of TV

[01:38:20] Yes, and you're lucky if you can find a website that's streaming it. I got lucky with um extreme ghost fosters and third watch

[01:38:31] I got extreme ghost fosters and third watch off of so much stuff

[01:38:35] I wish we could just digitally put into a cloud and be like

[01:38:39] word

[01:38:41] Like I have

[01:38:43] Because there's so much there's so much shit. I've watched as a kid and most of it

[01:38:49] Barely got a season one DVD release much less than episode five same deal

[01:38:55] Like they Warner Brothers famously hated anything that was on that network. There's just like

[01:39:01] Who watches this we did okay

[01:39:05] Like I remember when b5 came out originally

[01:39:08] I didn't think anything else like fuck this shit. I love track

[01:39:13] And then decades later

[01:39:17] 2010s I

[01:39:19] Saw it and I was like

[01:39:21] All right, I'll buy season one

[01:39:22] C l goes and I was hooked

[01:39:26] Well just fucking hook and then the next month I bought season two and so on and so forth and I got the

[01:39:33] I still got the DVDs just for the historical bloopers and commentary tracks. I'll probably never go for the actual episodes themselves. I got the

[01:39:40] TV versions that are on

[01:39:43] voodoo

[01:39:44] Well now prime has just the beauties

[01:39:50] Digitally, but like it looks so good on the whole art versions everyone should get those versions

[01:39:55] Yeah, I got the um, I want to get it all

[01:39:58] But I

[01:40:01] Lazy you're fine

[01:40:03] Yeah, I've watched b5 twice in my whole life

[01:40:07] Buy it from movies. I don't know even the episodes everyone hates. I'm like, let's find

[01:40:13] Yeah, look, I don't have a problem with the show whatsoever. I never did. I loved it

[01:40:17] I watched it originally just you know seasons one through five and the movies then

[01:40:23] I found out there was a chronological order and then I watched it in chrono water and man that

[01:40:28] Brona water made that finale hit so fucking harder

[01:40:32] And I was falling even harder. That's all I was gonna do

[01:40:37] No

[01:40:38] It's sad shit, dude

[01:40:40] And it's it's one of those everyone's distracted by how it looks. I'm like see

[01:40:45] It's like dude

[01:40:47] You are literally seeing history being made

[01:40:52] And you have the you have delin you have shared in and it's their last time

[01:40:58] Delin actress, oh man. Yeah, definitely

[01:41:01] and

[01:41:03] You and it's wild because back then

[01:41:07] Having the man having the protagonist die

[01:41:11] That was a rare you never had that they always survived somehow

[01:41:16] But having shared and written off like that and just killed him and it's like his time was up like no

[01:41:22] It can't be up. That's impossible. No

[01:41:25] And then b5 blowing up too that hurt the worst. I was like, no, why are you blowing the station up? Fuck

[01:41:33] And oh that's burnt so goddamn hard

[01:41:37] Because you have to watch the last two movies before the series finale

[01:41:43] And

[01:41:44] It hits so hard

[01:41:47] and it really

[01:41:50] It's I can't explain it. You have to watch it

[01:41:53] Brontologically, so really my sister who doesn't care for it would watch it just because

[01:41:59] There was some interesting character interactions

[01:42:02] Like you have to what like if you're listening as you ask to watch

[01:42:06] Babylon 5 in chronological order

[01:42:10] Just go into it. No expectations and just watch it

[01:42:15] From the movie the first movie to the series finale

[01:42:20] And you will not be disappointed. I promise you you will be so grateful

[01:42:26] That you watched it and enjoyed it without having expectations

[01:42:31] I swear to fucking god, you will love it. And then if you want more there's comics for it

[01:42:37] There's books for it. There are rpg books. There's a cookbook

[01:42:41] A fucking cookbook. It's awesome

[01:42:46] Uh

[01:42:47] But yeah, I wish Highlander had a cookbook that'd be fun

[01:42:51] Shit that'd be perfect

[01:42:55] That would be absolutely goddamn perfect there can be only one cook

[01:43:04] It better not be Steven Seagal

[01:43:07] Oh

[01:43:09] You know one of those idiots would have been like he needs to pee

[01:43:14] Fuck that noise. I love it. I love man tv's parody with him fucking Will Sasso

[01:43:20] Yeah, Will Sasso was amazing

[01:43:23] God, I love that mother

[01:43:24] I always joked how they should do like action star parodies but have the betrayers together like

[01:43:32] They should have

[01:43:34] Gerald Hammond is Sean Connery, you know sasa was

[01:43:39] Seagal and um

[01:43:41] You could have J. Ferro as Denzel or Wesley Snipes, you know, but or both are perfect

[01:43:48] There's a few others who have done hysterical ones they can do the simpsons version of charles bronson. I'm going to kill him

[01:43:54] It's Sarah Paulson

[01:44:01] Yeah, just

[01:44:03] She would be interesting with a Highlander

[01:44:07] Yeah

[01:44:08] No

[01:44:12] I'm listening

[01:44:14] She was on american horror story. Oh god, you didn't see american horror story. I don't like so it's not scary

[01:44:24] And this is coming from somebody who's read what all kinds of shit and you're scared of horror

[01:44:31] I'm not scared of horror, but I big baby

[01:44:35] I don't find it entertaining. It's just lame dull and dog water

[01:44:39] Trotius acting especially by gaga and

[01:44:43] I I just don't like Ryan Murphy. No, that's the same dude. It did nip talk and blee and 911 shows fuck that shit

[01:44:50] um

[01:44:51] I will give you yes parts of the oj and some of the other trocrite

[01:44:56] I have stuff was interesting but other than that dude like

[01:45:00] I love

[01:45:01] You're too pregnant

[01:45:03] I don't care about him. I care about the shows like american horror story is great the anthologies

[01:45:09] I love anthologies, but I don't think it's a good anthology. Like

[01:45:15] It just doesn't hold its own ground

[01:45:20] I don't know it just I think it's just that after all the buildup

[01:45:26] They don't really

[01:45:27] Build up to a worthwhile conclusion. Everyone's just distracted by oh, how good Jessica Lange is I'm like, I know I've been watching movies for years

[01:45:34] I know she's good

[01:45:38] I like Dylan McDermott, but

[01:45:41] Like season one was great. I love that because that was an elbow plot to us

[01:45:47] I know you sort of all the work

[01:45:50] Uh, the one with

[01:45:51] It knows what it wants to be

[01:45:55] It's just full of shit like the bill of thorn cameo was pretty lame

[01:45:59] But then the michael chicliss season especially was just like

[01:46:04] Great show was interesting. That was the one I didn't see until years later. I was like, okay

[01:46:09] This is really good because I missed it because I was busy

[01:46:14] Or I just forgot about it all together

[01:46:17] Ah

[01:46:19] Oh, John glancy would be a great highlander easy way too fucking easy

[01:46:31] Because he's a monologue specialist

[01:46:34] Wow

[01:46:35] He could monologue me to

[01:46:38] Um, definitely

[01:46:40] I mean that in a bad way. Um

[01:46:44] Boring, um

[01:46:46] How dare you talk bad about fear

[01:46:49] Hey at least I like all versions of the outer limits and twilight zone and tells from

[01:46:58] Really yeah, they're horrible they're trash. They don't know anything good

[01:47:04] Bunch of work propaganda

[01:47:07] Don't you dare

[01:47:10] Look at that the day orio become a action bullshit

[01:47:15] TV the day orio became an alt right gun man

[01:47:19] I need to go find me a gun

[01:47:24] Everything is different than me

[01:47:29] Or are you giving me store brand nerve trump keep taking your horn fucking prick

[01:47:36] Now if they do a highlander thought that I will watch the show of it

[01:47:39] If they do that's alter carbon follow-up, that'd be great. That'd be the best thing since outer limits

[01:47:44] um

[01:47:46] I love the apology for highlander thoughts tells from the grip is where's that i'm sorry

[01:47:56] Bunch of necrophilia, uh not on that show. Oh, it's you're watching

[01:48:04] I also don't want to know because it's probably

[01:48:09] I'm probably gonna be roll 34 and some other dog shit, and I'm like this can't be real

[01:48:14] Roll 64 tails from the crypt

[01:50:01] All right smart ass. I got your number

[01:50:03] So I made a vid

[01:50:08] Made a shout out vid and i was like, hey, you like my feet

[01:50:13] And then I went and said yeah this he likes my feet so much because you know

[01:50:17] I got cerebral palsy and I had ankle surgery on them and

[01:50:20] I have to crack my toes every couple hours because they're stiff and then curved to the right and left

[01:50:26] Jesus

[01:50:27] Damn sucks

[01:50:29] But that

[01:50:37] But I didn't hear back from the motherfucker so he wanted his lesson
