[00:00:30] Hey-o!

[00:00:37] We got Al Mega up the Comet Crusaders podcast.

[00:00:54] He also has worked on the undercover capes podcast networking outside the panels.

[00:01:00] He's also geek as fuck, so let us sit down.

[00:01:04] This guy's out and about into podcasting, some of his awesome tips and tricks, and other

[00:01:09] awesome and beyond diverse commentary.

[00:01:12] Welcome to the show.

[00:01:14] Whippa!

[00:01:15] Thank you for having me baby, I appreciate it.

[00:01:19] How are you doing?

[00:01:21] I'm not a geek, but I'm a geek.

[00:01:23] I can't complain at all.

[00:01:25] So it's always dynamite when I listen in on a show and see the various blog posts and interviews and as we were saying off-air before, geek doesn't have to be toxic.

[00:01:41] I'm talking about the 2000s where people would dispute the difference between a geek and a nerd.

[00:01:45] It doesn't matter what it means is you like a lot of stuff that not everyone likes.

[00:01:50] And that's okay, I grew up in that era when we had to hide our comic books and our book bags and lunchtime nerd table if you will.

[00:02:01] I'm talking about the latest Iron Man or Cat back in the day, you know, the good times back in the day, those late 80s comics.

[00:02:10] Again, I graduated in 1993 folks, don't let the white hairs fool you, this is called stress.

[00:02:15] I had great comics, good stuff.

[00:02:18] I had a tribe luckily that enjoyed this, but I didn't kind of find them until I was about 12, 13 years old, if you will.

[00:02:29] I was a nerd from eight years old up until about 12 by myself.

[00:02:34] Like, I didn't know anyone else liked this stuff.

[00:02:37] And it is kind of funny how it goes in waves, some of the same guys who are like, hey, you know, turn away from the TV, you melt in your brain or throw those comics away, read a real book.

[00:02:45] Some of those are the same guys who they're geeks without realizing they're geeks.

[00:02:49] They're the guys who can name the A and B side of a vinyl track, you know.

[00:02:54] Right?

[00:02:55] Yeah, you're geeks yourself. Stop it. Your geek them is just different.

[00:02:59] Stop denying yourself what you are. Yeah.

[00:03:02] Absolutely. That's why comic you say there's, you know, yeah, don't let the name just fool you. We celebrate all pop culture, you know, music, film and everything.

[00:03:10] I mean, you know, geek them. It's so it's so broad. I mean, who hasn't sat down, Cam, with a comic book in their hand, you know, and put a dope soundtrack behind them as they read their favorite book.

[00:03:22] I mean, you know, it's a mix of music and comics. So, you know, that it's a wonderful.

[00:03:28] There you go.

[00:03:30] Well, you got a cooking show on in the background. I don't know.

[00:03:33] Well, listen, there you are. They're cooking comic books coming out is cooking manga, calm books.

[00:03:38] Is there really? Yeah, absolutely. I've seen them, you know, they've come through to the business.

[00:03:43] You know, as I share them with my crusader. So there's been manga books like, you know, try the recipes based on these cartoons.

[00:03:51] You know, these foods that they show there. I mean, as well stuff. One of my guys did a review Nemesis on one of those Japanese on a major cooking books.

[00:04:01] And they did some type of cake or cookie or something. And he was happy with how it came out.

[00:04:06] And I think goodness is a great cook because it was me. I would have to find the problem in here with me.

[00:04:13] How do you, when you're just breathing in all this knowledge, how do you even break it down and have it make sense to you?

[00:04:22] I mean, I don't know everything as it comes in. You know, I'm not, I'm not just a CEO.

[00:04:28] I just, you know, I got to sit down and if everything comes in, I'm seeing everything. So yeah, my reading power is probably this high, you know, to actually read a complete book.

[00:04:40] But I get so much taste of it in the previews that I constantly see that I have to post.

[00:04:46] Like, it's just something that gets naturally absorbed. So people are so surprised sometimes, but it's shit that I am keeping up with and like it's not intentional.

[00:04:56] It's just, it comes through. I, you know, I share it. No, it's lovely. But I share it because I like it, you know, and I think okay, this deserves a share.

[00:05:05] And, you know, again, I'm not posting things that I don't want to share. Understand?

[00:05:10] Right.

[00:05:11] So, you know, that's how I keep up to date. Basically on these shorts, all this news, amazing people talking to folks like yourself and sharing and our vast experiences, if you will, and our love of geek culture, you know, across the board.

[00:05:26] You see me as I'm a comic guy, but geez, you think I'm also a toy guy, right?

[00:05:33] I just think you're a very diverse guy really.

[00:05:36] Look at it. Look at it.

[00:05:38] Super Nintendo spawn. Wow.

[00:05:42] Listen, it's in there, baby.

[00:05:45] Oh, sweet.

[00:05:46] There's actually a custom case my brother gifted me this.

[00:05:50] You know, he's like, okay, I saw you got these are good sibling.

[00:05:55] I put them on to everything I happen to send them with today, a commercial about my buddy. And he just sends me back I hate you because, you know, I'm a good big brother.

[00:06:05] When my buddy came out so the child's place so you know I did my job was a big brother and terrorizing with the poor doll.

[00:06:13] I just ask them like whatever happened to it.

[00:06:16] It's probably buried somewhere.

[00:06:21] So, when you so when we did it all begin really like to the point where you're just like, I love these kinds of different comics movies, music, everything. It speaks to me it gives me up in the morning it's the first thing I do before I move on with my life.

[00:06:39] But when did you realize that it had hit a nerve and you had made a connection with this pop culture.

[00:06:45] Well, this is I was a kid. I mean it took me out I didn't mean you know I love my family and all but you know we didn't have the best. I didn't have the best I'll bring in you know I mean, we want rich, you know I mean.

[00:06:59] I was going to be able to again I was buying comics you know for a for for a dollar grand book center. So that was just something that just took me out of out of space and time if you will, took me away from those hard times why I appreciate console there that's why I appreciate good storytelling.

[00:07:15] Something that will take me out of the space that I was in you know and to a whole okay I'm this hero for this moment, while I'm this villain. Again it's probably why I like building so much because I probably understand a lot more than I.

[00:07:27] But, you know, I was I was a kid, and then, you know 2006 came you know having conversation with friends you want to start a business, kind of bookstore.

[00:07:37] There you go.

[00:07:38] That was the initial idea.

[00:07:40] You're talking about before but I keep forgetting.

[00:07:42] Yeah, this is 2006 though you know I mean so he kind of was tough.

[00:07:47] A lot of stuff that are happening and unfortunately I couldn't do that.

[00:07:51] So I always held on to the name you know I try you know go to do little cons here and there to keep the name out there and come like I was a 2014.

[00:08:01] You know, I we move from New York to mass and I don't know what to do with this and you know my wife at the time will let yo want to be like a TMZ of comics.

[00:08:12] I was like, you know what I don't want to be a TMZ of comics because TMZ I find is negative because you know what they you know they're very negative sometimes you know and what they do and they ambush reporting and all that.

[00:08:25] Yeah.

[00:08:26] I'm like you know what, I like the idea but I think I'm going to flip from negative to positive.

[00:08:32] There we go.

[00:08:34] So I started learning.

[00:08:36] All right, so let me learn how to build a website. Who the hell am I I don't know. So I started looking into people first.

[00:08:43] Somebody did me a generic website you know and that's why I did for the little bit then I you know thank God for WordPress.

[00:08:50] When I found that I started doing my own, own stuff and you know building it myself building a team learning how to navigate and speak to public services to get access you know showing you know what's traffic was this what's SEO was that

[00:09:05] The success does this.

[00:09:07] Yeah, learning curve and I have but I always love tech. You know I'm one of those you know kids from New York I love my technology it was funny that my family had seen the recent Transformers movie.

[00:09:18] And when they all came out they text me like yo that main actor reminded me of you back then.

[00:09:26] Stop it. So you know, that was a tech guy like that so you know I love to absorb it and I've just learned everything's been learning learning learning until this day I keep learning everything about websites you know introduction of AI and how we could incorporate

[00:09:40] that to what we do, you know so many things.

[00:09:43] No that's lovely because.

[00:09:46] Yeah, so many people just work way too long and then just get all caught up in the fact that they're unhappy.

[00:09:55] Getting into their middle age and they're just realizing wow I could be doing this and that because this is what I love.

[00:10:04] Yeah, follow your passion folks I mean why not what's wrong with that.

[00:10:09] Follow what you love and you know share what you love because you never know what could happen. Honest to goodness I mean I've had wonderful opportunities come across.

[00:10:18] You know so and I've been happy again I've met wonderful people that have become friends.

[00:10:23] Many creative people that have become so many of not just a brand but of myself as a person.

[00:10:30] Wow, I've developed you know friendships and I think that's so valuable this industry needs that positive energy that supportive and lack of a positive energy is lacking it's lacking folks.

[00:10:43] We need to get lifted. I mean there's a lot of people bitching about this that the other who cares tell your story stop bitching about what everybody else is doing.

[00:10:52] Do you stop being comparative and show your goddamn work that's all I'm talking everybody across every every board spectrum genre race whatever the hell you fucking doing.

[00:11:03] I'm sorry I don't know about cross here.

[00:11:05] I mean but I feel I feel because like just get it done stop being comparative do your work.

[00:11:11] Show it show how good it is but don't be like oh my this better than this because of this oh look at this.

[00:11:19] Do your work to find your audience but don't be negative about it just show how awesome you are how about that is that so.

[00:11:30] I get mad about that me I want to just spread positivity and love there's so many good things out there why we got people making so hard there's no need for that folks.

[00:11:39] I guess to lift people up you know I know the negatives click bait but you know positively should stop being the real click bait if you want to feel good right you know the earth algorithm energy change baby let's change with it.

[00:11:52] Right.

[00:11:54] So,

[00:11:57] with your giant crew that you got now.

[00:12:01] You described the day to day functions you know editing I mean I know you do a lot of the editing and scheduling but when you had the rest of your guys on like as guests did you get to the point where you were like I want to survey every comic book place I know in town.

[00:12:16] First, and then build from that.

[00:12:19] No, no.

[00:12:21] You know, I found my people, my teammates, we were well through social media.

[00:12:26] My team.

[00:12:28] And I was like, I'm not going to be on the show.

[00:12:30] Right. So, you know, putting out ads.

[00:12:33] And now we know, and as I built the team like Johnny's one of my old G Johnny you shot outside of Pratt was been with me for years because the machine because he has like over 1000 pieces of content on the website does.

[00:12:45] I mean it's time he's been with me is an amazing host and interviewer.

[00:12:50] And using his experience, you know working with me. We've basically vet out people that you want to contribute that's great you know we check you out.

[00:12:58] We don't want to get again that about negative energy will want to be about political themes were not.

[00:13:05] I want to stay away from that for me that that's my outcast so we don't want that in our political themes are cancerous themes that discussed on pop culture websites. Stay away from that shit, in my opinion but anyway, no fair enough.

[00:13:21] You know there you know that there's things that you can talk about but but unfortunately, most people don't share facts most people want to share an opinion and enforce it down.

[00:13:31] And this is why I'm going to stay away from those political themes because those those are like talking about like religion right you things you can't talk about with family, you also can't share those themes.

[00:13:43] Unless it's maybe part of the comic I don't really see a point either.

[00:13:47] Exactly.

[00:13:48] If it's a theme in the comic absolutely right but unfortunately, every day people find a political theme somehow in a comic somewhere. Oh they took a dig at this. Oh, God.

[00:13:59] What can I do something. You know, people wonder why movies like John work and you know, you know, get popular why because it dumps us down we don't want to be in a political theme we just want to see a kick ass movie that just that's it.

[00:14:13] Right.

[00:14:14] What happened.

[00:14:16] Yeah, well and then it gets even more like ridiculous when you see them.

[00:14:22] Oh, this is good. But this sucks even though it's doing exactly what that other thing I like is doing was like so then we're back to square one of okay why didn't this work for you.

[00:14:34] Other pencil doing it apparently.

[00:14:37] I guess we got to talk yeah like like we're two years old.

[00:14:42] Who've been some of your favorite interviews I really appreciated just seeing so many different actors, comic book creators you've interviewed David dash Moushian of the dark night.

[00:14:52] That small chin. He taught me he was like listen because I was like yo I don't want to smash in and how you do that he goes my wife taught me the perfect thing he goes just say that small chin.

[00:15:04] And that's how you pronounce my name I said okay.

[00:15:07] And then I never forgot.

[00:15:10] After the interview I saw a couple of weeks after I send you a comic con.

[00:15:15] I was like yo Dave he was like oh mega he remembered me and ran and took a picture with me and everything else that is awesome that's sweet man.

[00:15:24] I was always awesome because could you imagine you go to a con and time and finances yo I'm like everybody looks like how the hell is this guy.

[00:15:33] Yeah the problem was great.

[00:15:36] Even reviewed so many as you do this.

[00:15:39] I love all these people because they just come over so great energy.

[00:15:44] People who are just original.

[00:15:46] My pals Lindsey G and.

[00:15:49] We have fun talking about the bagel mafia and we talk.

[00:15:53] Well that was one of my first and then you know immediately after our podcast I decided to make, you know kind of memes in a center that's an attempt personally about the bagel mafia.

[00:16:05] The Kaiser old mafia.

[00:16:07] They started down they're like no you goddamn did it you fucking psycho.

[00:16:11] We have amazing I mean what a great couple of creators that makes us great fun books and again understand what comments are supposed to be.

[00:16:22] And they've been doing it long enough they could stand on their own two feet now.

[00:16:26] Isn't that a beautiful thing and you know an answer into the man.

[00:16:30] And again exactly doing it on their own the beauty of the independent community and world nowadays my man is a wonderful thing that people could ride and stand on their own through Kickstarter in the go go zoop so many different.

[00:16:45] Absolutely.

[00:16:46] I mean it's beautiful it is that golden age of the creator and in the own we don't need those big purposes baby.

[00:16:55] I mean I have been approached multiple times camp by different publishers like hey you ever want to do a common crusaders anthology.

[00:17:03] You know I mean, all the creative you spoken to and I mean many have ever told me out of the fact they ever want to do something let me know I mean, I would probably be create be able to create a monstrous monstrous.

[00:17:15] I mean, I don't know the technology. You know but I want to wait also for the right time because and that means a lot, because, yeah, you left in a first impression, so to speak, that's now long lasting.

[00:17:28] Oh let me tell you I walk around with this logo to come and kind of have people pull me over at a convention.

[00:17:35] Are you out.

[00:17:38] That's lovely.

[00:17:40] Thank you for the support I mean, you know, I'm a no you knew me but it's my team, you know, again, you know, Danny Antonio, Nam,

[00:17:52] Luke day.

[00:17:55] I mean I have so many people on a team Freya random do I mean God, the list goes on. And again when I say they I think probably have multiple days.

[00:18:05] I mean, I'm in the middle of the day to day process like you guys are putting ideas around making phone calls.

[00:18:12] No no my day to day I live on email.

[00:18:15] Okay.

[00:18:16] I'm an email man and then everything's appointments on emails communicating through email hey guys you want to do an advanced preview hey guys you want to do an advanced review hey.

[00:18:25] I'm a new creator. Do you have time for me and why don't we do just share lanes go just pick a date pick a date we got you.

[00:18:33] And then we're going to do is how other websites you know, tell yeah independent creators hey you got to be a you on diamond. Are you on lunar.

[00:18:42] Oh, you know how big is the beginning they start judging how listen if you in support of the comic book industry and creators. How about support the company industry and creators.

[00:18:53] Listen, these guys that you're probably denying now. I'm going to be the guys that are gonna have the biggest project in the future and I got them hope they remember when you deny them.

[00:19:03] Because God deny you us comic who said it's always have an open door for every single creator, whether you're on comic books music you know I mean, move back like you can only do corporate stuff. Yeah, bring it baby we got to love this culture we love I'm

[00:19:19] I mean especially now with this strike going on, we're going to be on such a drought of original content for a while. Yeah, let's get real here. You know what I mean so let's get sorted quickly.

[00:19:32] I mean I saw people bitching about all the deadpool movies delayed folks they can't work on the movie that's why it's delayed is not yeah that is not going to come out is like until this thing is over we don't know what's going to happen.

[00:19:46] You got to say fuck you to AI guys.

[00:19:49] I mean, again yeah I alright and I had this conversation with my sibling. I love a I but not on that I understand that when it comes to trying to copyright and emulate on art emulate on writing style that copyright infringement I'm not with.

[00:20:07] Right. What I am with on the AI is the idea capability of your business owner like hey, I mean it could peruse your website and give you SEO it could peruse your website and say hey maybe you should try this content.

[00:20:19] I mean it could peruse your podcast and say do this, it could you know you could this podcast right here because upload to AI, it can make our life easier by processing our notes are summary and the whole thing.

[00:20:31] So when I think that's where AI is powerful and that's where I'm with AI. But we are so all my creators out there on which when it comes to copyright infringement, you know, I love how Google bar, for example, you cannot feel I tested it you cannot feel

[00:20:46] I put in the style of somebody in the right of this. You can't you have to really do something original what you want, you can you know and I love that that's proper taking care of artists and creators and protecting them from that infringement, because the last thing I want to see is come

[00:21:03] from the likes of a convention selling prints of art from from you know do you know stating that they're from by though creators when they just basically robbing them and that's so unfair. Absolutely I.

[00:21:14] And that's is that the it, it's Apple 2.0 slash Skynec technology and it's just a shame that it takes one to ruin it for everybody.

[00:21:24] I mean, and the fact that Hollywood even wants to use your image like oh we're using an extra for for for a day will pay you today right with less than 200 bucks because we don't want to own your a you know your image forever and we could throw you in any random

[00:21:39] movie like you want me to star you know be a part of some random backgrounds with many movies but not compensate me for my image are you in.

[00:21:49] I mean, a legal is still these guys are fighting for the little guy because the little guy needs to be also protect it's not just about the big guys getting their check folks is about the little guy to don't think this is about greed they can go on Google maps

[00:22:03] still our image and just put it in a random media wants to oh look at these greedy guys no no no they're protecting the little guy to isn't it always funny how the people who say we're greedy are still corporate media so what does that make them.

[00:22:18] Oh, but this right I mean if you're making 30 times over or even 300 times over what the bottom person to make an attitude is a problem there I mean it's okay to make some money understand it's.

[00:22:30] There's a capitalist country capitalism you know you know business it is all systematic issues yeah let's be fair when you see yourself at 300 times over your bottom person you should look I mean you know what.

[00:22:42] I mean this is like, I mean, lifetime of money my children's lifetime their kids like I mean let me cut this a little bit you know let's give back I mean but why nobody want to give back and I hate that really so powerful so fucking evil god absolutely.

[00:23:00] Oh, and then I see people trying to use money to influence others I was helping someone build a podcast network and he was like at the end of it. I'm going to take out loans and then start paying everyone this so I can have loyalty I'm like no no no no.

[00:23:13] Now they are making people owe you something is not how this works.

[00:23:18] Oh yeah but that's the devil's like that's how the devil works bingo, which is why I'm uncomfortable with that which is why I'm a volunteer, I refuse to do this for money.

[00:23:27] My team yeah we don't get paid you know what what do we do. Yeah listen we're getting access to come books massively early movies books.

[00:23:38] So you know that that's how I compensate you're getting early access to material that you probably would not have otherwise.

[00:23:45] I mean we save on Netflix, Amazon who we get that access. So it's like guys let's have a watch party so you guys can review this.

[00:23:54] You know hey check out I got these awesome books early, you know I work with amazing publishers that give us that access you know and I stay true not sharing anything publicly ever, you know, only within my team so they could handle the review and you know, and the whole team doesn't get access to everything books are assigned.

[00:24:11] You know, yeah, this is what it is I don't give someone access full to the folders you crazy because then that that that'll be fucked up.

[00:24:19] Because you know this is why some companies for you know I don't want to mention names, but some companies have stopped, you know overall giving review copies in advance, because other websites, you know blatantly sharing

[00:24:33] the content publicly in advance of any embargoes I'm like wow I can't you, they give us the honor of seeing the books early and I know we love this.

[00:24:43] But then do you really got to have that first group so bad that you got to ruin it for everyone.

[00:24:49] And same thing with the trailer I really know, explain to me this how so many people, even if they're not buying into the clickbait.

[00:24:59] It's like they just want to be angry when the trailers kind of like a commercial it's in its own entity.

[00:25:05] We were talking deadpool earlier that almost all the stuff and there is not in the movie. You can't say, I know the movie I saw the trailer bullshit.

[00:25:15] You didn't see the movie.

[00:25:17] Yep, yep. And they do that on purpose. Like you said clickbait they source things intentionally those leaked pictures.

[00:25:25] Come on, leak my ass I mean, keep interest, you know, tease you.

[00:25:32] Most of that shit probably won't be in the movie.

[00:25:34] when they'll do the whole, oh, we're seeing so and so rumor to be doing casting is like,

[00:25:40] well, yeah, they leaked that to see how many people reacted. And if they don't like the

[00:25:44] turnout, the reaction, so to speak, then they're not going to go with that so-called

[00:25:48] new casting or new idea.

[00:25:50] They gazed at algorithm, baby. They gazed at algorithm. They know how to use it. They

[00:25:55] put their AI to work.

[00:25:57] Sometimes they go on the negative effect too.

[00:25:59] They gazed at AI for this shit.

[00:26:01] Absolutely. And if there's a big negative outturn, that's just as much good. And

[00:26:04] they're like, hey, we got 20 million people reacting this. Maybe we got something after

[00:26:08] all, even though it's all negative.

[00:26:11] Exactly. They want to trigger people one way or another. That's a strategy.

[00:26:18] So if you were going to do some reform, other than asking, say, producers to stop hiring

[00:26:25] movie trailer companies to make trailers and just do it in studio like the old days,

[00:26:30] what else would you do to kind of reform Hollywood and get rid of some of these boomers

[00:26:33] who have no idea how to connect with all eras of people?

[00:26:38] Allow the creators to create, listen to them, especially if they're coming from

[00:26:46] like a comic book movie, for example.

[00:26:49] I mean, somebody's directors that handle these movies not for nine, they just don't

[00:26:53] goddamn understand the character.

[00:26:56] Right.

[00:26:57] And they put their own spin on it.

[00:26:59] Well, this is what I think it would be. Ain't about what you think.

[00:27:03] You're on a personal.

[00:27:04] Yeah, let's bring about the character as they are.

[00:27:08] You know, how about make a scenario about what you think that's like, how would that

[00:27:12] character handle what you think? How about that?

[00:27:15] You know what I mean?

[00:27:15] It's some shit like that.

[00:27:17] But no, they don't do that.

[00:27:19] You know, keep away from personal opinion, the political, let's go back to the

[00:27:24] source material again, like you said earlier, if it happens to be political.

[00:27:28] So be in and you use keep true to the nature of the original.

[00:27:32] But to stop changing things, stop, stop.

[00:27:35] You know, I mean, a white washing, black washing, brown.

[00:27:38] Yes, the white wash.

[00:27:40] Whatever you want to call it, stop the washing.

[00:27:42] Let's get out.

[00:27:43] You know, I want to see original characters of my own on screen.

[00:27:46] I don't want to see, you know, take mantles over that don't even belong

[00:27:49] to us, you know, just because.

[00:27:51] Stop doing the whole.

[00:27:53] It was a narrative.

[00:27:55] Some stories.

[00:27:56] That's all stop selling us narrative, sell us stories.

[00:27:59] That's my opinion.

[00:28:00] And why did they do the whole?

[00:28:02] Oh, it was in the old days.

[00:28:03] I'm like, that's fine.

[00:28:04] But you're adapting an outdated character, so you're going to have to update it.

[00:28:09] Update.

[00:28:10] Yeah, you could update the uniform and all you could change the story.

[00:28:13] But, you know, do you really not what stories were again, political,

[00:28:16] so you could change the story?

[00:28:18] Yeah, if the characters are big, you might take that part.

[00:28:21] How would the character, you know, work with the new technology this that.

[00:28:24] You know, again, you know, stop this in, you know, dudes, thank you.

[00:28:28] That's another thing that's, you know, this can be fair again.

[00:28:31] Just make normal movies where no one's being this and just, you know,

[00:28:35] exactly, they did it with Captain America.

[00:28:37] They had him be self aware that he's being used as a propaganda tool.

[00:28:41] Oh, good idea. Oh my God.

[00:28:43] That is my.

[00:28:44] Can you imagine him being a oblivious poster boy?

[00:28:47] It would get pretty old pretty fast.

[00:28:49] It'd be kind of a. Absolutely.

[00:28:50] This is why that for me with the so is one of the best F and Marvel movies ever

[00:28:55] made period. That is number one.

[00:28:57] It has not been toppled in my opinion yet, because again, it was about that.

[00:29:01] So for awareness, it was an espionage.

[00:29:04] It was a spy flick with superhero uniforms.

[00:29:07] Yeah, Indiana Jones adventure.

[00:29:09] Yeah, 007. It was all that.

[00:29:11] It was fantastic.

[00:29:12] That that's how you make movies, folks, especially with political intrigue.

[00:29:16] That type of political intrigue.

[00:29:18] Ha, ha, ha, ha. Right?

[00:29:20] So much better.

[00:29:23] Exactly, man. Please take me away from the real world, people.

[00:29:27] What is real anymore?

[00:29:29] Oh, man, right?

[00:29:30] You got if you listen to people on the internet, we're living on different

[00:29:33] dimensions and aliens of different dimension on different wavelengths.

[00:29:38] And is that the other?

[00:29:39] And misinterpreting the matrix now is like.

[00:29:42] So you can.

[00:29:43] If you want to laugh on Friday night, I was outside of my back porch.

[00:29:48] And I'm looking up at the sky.

[00:29:49] It was a beautiful night here in Massachusetts, but beautiful.

[00:29:52] Oh, sweet.

[00:29:53] And at the stars, I'm like, wow.

[00:29:55] And I looked a little bit to my right and can.

[00:29:59] And what do you say?

[00:30:00] The scare of my life.

[00:30:03] I saw like 12 lights in a row in line

[00:30:08] following we saw the moving at high speed.

[00:30:11] I'm listening to my phone.

[00:30:13] So I got nervous and I'm trying to turn off YouTube.

[00:30:16] So I'll get into my camera by the time I turned it on and ran up to the top

[00:30:20] porch, it was gone.

[00:30:21] So I'm telling my brothers, you know, I saw somewhere and they're like,

[00:30:25] Al, whatever you do and stop doing, just go to bed.

[00:30:30] You've got a big day.

[00:30:31] I looked this up and apparently what I saw was the the the the satellite link.

[00:30:38] The the the the ones that Elon, I saw them in the sky.

[00:30:42] The Starlink satellites apparently they were passing over Massachusetts at that

[00:30:47] time low like 300 feet above.

[00:30:50] Damn. Someone get to work in a say, call it in.

[00:30:55] Yeah, bro.

[00:30:56] Again, with all this alien talk, do you understand the scare of my life?

[00:31:00] I had on a Friday night.

[00:31:02] I'm and I say, you know, I look like a tenant to Boston and he goes,

[00:31:07] there's nothing in Boston for them to even want to attack.

[00:31:09] So I think you're safe.

[00:31:14] I'm walking here.

[00:31:15] You know, oh wait, that's New Jersey.

[00:31:17] My bad.

[00:31:18] Hey, we almost sound all the same.

[00:31:21] Yeah, we make fun of one another.

[00:31:24] Coffee, coffee, you know, which is it?

[00:31:26] Cafe. There you go.

[00:31:30] We'll return after these messages.

[00:31:37] The Jacked Up Review Show podcast is honored to be part of the Blind Knowledge

[00:31:41] Podcast Network. Join any time, talk the talk and enjoy yourselves.

[00:31:45] There's something enlightening for everyone with this crowd of cool cats.

[00:31:49] Check them out.

[00:32:06] Hi, I'm James Gadzien on the Who Would Win Show.

[00:32:34] Me and my co-host Ray ignore anything important happening in the outside world

[00:32:38] and debate fictional battles between characters from comics, movies and video games.

[00:32:42] We got a new show every week and almost always am I the winner?

[00:32:46] Not true, Ray.

[00:32:47] In the past, we've discussed such matches as Captain America versus Darth Vader,

[00:32:51] Solid Snake versus the Iron Giant, classic matchups like Robocop versus

[00:32:56] Terminator and even the Muppets versus Sesame Street.

[00:32:59] That one was crazy.

[00:33:02] So if you're a fan of geek culture and love a spirited debate,

[00:33:05] check out the Who Would Win Show wherever you get your podcast or check us

[00:33:08] out at whowidwinshow.com.

[00:33:14] Sweet.

[00:33:15] Oh, man.

[00:33:16] So that is electrifying and also chilling at the same time.

[00:33:23] Yeah, but I read too many comic books.

[00:33:24] I'm into sci-fi for what?

[00:33:26] For a moment in time, I never thought he was going to get, you know,

[00:33:29] approved. I said, oh my God, no, I'm a virgin alone.

[00:33:33] Were you always pretty fascinated by sci-fi?

[00:33:36] Yeah, I love sci-fi.

[00:33:37] As a kid, I mean, who wasn't I mean, you grew up watching.

[00:33:40] You made some fries.

[00:33:41] I see people who.

[00:33:42] But I get stuff.

[00:33:44] Love it.

[00:33:44] So that's a good cross section.

[00:33:47] I see why is it that people it's not just that some of them are obviously

[00:33:52] gatekeeping, but then you see others who need to get their head out of their

[00:33:55] ass and it's like, no, that is not all of what said genre or subgenre entails.

[00:34:03] You can have an action movie that's just an exciting sports movie.

[00:34:05] It doesn't have to have fight scenes every minute or same deal.

[00:34:08] It doesn't have to be scary every minute.

[00:34:10] Sometimes it gets that label because it's a psycho thriller, monster movie,

[00:34:14] gothic. Look at psycho.

[00:34:16] All right.

[00:34:17] That movie, but you really don't see anything in this movie.

[00:34:21] Yeah.

[00:34:22] This imagery is all routine in your mind.

[00:34:25] Same thing with the extra says same thing with comedy.

[00:34:28] There's plenty of them which are satirical, but they're not funny, funny, you know?

[00:34:32] Yeah, like, but you know, I'm going to probably get controversy here.

[00:34:36] I don't know if you liked it, but that last funny people.

[00:34:38] I did not find that funny at all.

[00:34:41] Oh yeah, that was a misfire because it didn't seem to know what it wanted to be.

[00:34:45] Yeah, I had no idea where I was watching.

[00:34:48] I was like, what is this?

[00:34:49] I did not laugh once, not even a chuckle.

[00:34:52] I'm like, wow.

[00:34:53] I didn't even learn anything about the Jennifer Lawrence.

[00:34:56] No hard feelings comedy.

[00:34:58] That was a comedy that was really funny, you know?

[00:35:02] That's good.

[00:35:02] Basically an older woman trying to help a young man trying to get out of his show.

[00:35:06] You know, parents hire her.

[00:35:08] He don't know that, you know, it felt like an 80s type, you know, comedy.

[00:35:11] It was funny.

[00:35:12] Oh, OK, that's good.

[00:35:13] A whole bunch of J-Law, a whole bunch.

[00:35:16] You know what?

[00:35:19] Cam, if you're a church going mad after you see this movie,

[00:35:21] you're going to have to take up a hell of a marriage.

[00:35:25] Well, you see a lot of J-Law a lot.

[00:35:32] Oops.

[00:35:34] Sorry, not sorry.

[00:35:40] Who was your first big screen crush speaking of that?

[00:35:43] Which one?

[00:35:44] Who was your first big screen or small screen crush?

[00:35:47] Cross all a man.

[00:35:48] Come on.

[00:35:49] It's a Milano.

[00:35:51] What?

[00:35:52] No, it's interesting to know because no, who's the boss?

[00:35:55] He was boss.

[00:35:57] Honestly, it was real.

[00:35:58] That was who the boss was.

[00:36:00] Beauty for real.

[00:36:02] Who else?

[00:36:03] I was the Wonder Woman in the car.

[00:36:05] You know, back in the day for real.

[00:36:07] Makes sense.

[00:36:08] Well, yeah, you give me that spin, Mommy, anything.

[00:36:14] No, it's interesting to know.

[00:36:15] The viral event.

[00:36:17] Oh, yes.

[00:36:18] You know, without the makeup.

[00:36:20] Have you seen a viral?

[00:36:21] What a beautiful woman she is.

[00:36:23] An example of comedians.

[00:36:24] On the sexy and funny.

[00:36:26] Yeah, exactly.

[00:36:28] Exactly.

[00:36:29] She doesn't take it so seriously.

[00:36:30] She's in a store.

[00:36:31] We've had the pleasure of my man, Nemo says I got him his dream interview.

[00:36:36] We had the pleasure of having her on the comic.

[00:36:38] You say it as podcast.

[00:36:39] I'll have to look that one out.

[00:36:40] I didn't see that one.

[00:36:42] Yeah, wonderful story.

[00:36:43] She appreciates because there was a time she came out with a book

[00:36:45] and you know, he read the book and he commented on certain things

[00:36:48] in the book that no other podcast to comment on.

[00:36:50] And she goes, wow, you just proved to me you read the book.

[00:36:52] Thank you.

[00:36:53] You know, type thing.

[00:36:54] Yeah.

[00:36:55] Green.

[00:36:55] She was very happy.

[00:36:56] Same thing when I interviewed Frank Stallone.

[00:36:58] You know, he was happy.

[00:36:59] I read his story.

[00:37:00] I mean, he watched his movie.

[00:37:02] The documentary about his story.

[00:37:03] I'm like, wow, like Frank Stallone.

[00:37:05] He's a peer back in a day.

[00:37:06] I'm like, whoa.

[00:37:07] Right.

[00:37:08] The lone brothers were Max.

[00:37:10] Where?

[00:37:12] Yeah.

[00:37:13] It's eye opening too.

[00:37:15] Oh yeah, definitely.

[00:37:17] Definitely talking to them.

[00:37:18] Yeah, but on the question so many brothers just too many.

[00:37:21] I mean, I grew up in the 80s 90s.

[00:37:23] I mean, we have so many.

[00:37:24] Well, it's also back then.

[00:37:27] I asked people that upfront because then I could also figure out if they're

[00:37:31] approved or per or if they're just an awesome guy and they know how to

[00:37:35] speak about what they love.

[00:37:37] Love.

[00:37:38] Literally love and even Natalie Portman, man too.

[00:37:41] More now too.

[00:37:43] Wow.

[00:37:44] Yeah.

[00:37:45] Just dammit.

[00:37:46] And not she's single, bro.

[00:37:47] We have a chance cancel.

[00:37:48] You know, we got to get those haircuts, you know, and say, well, man,

[00:37:51] she single.

[00:37:52] Let's go.

[00:37:53] How man she on her?

[00:37:54] How dare you?

[00:37:55] I didn't know that, but I love her also just as a,

[00:37:58] just a filmmaker.

[00:37:59] Oh yeah.

[00:38:00] She's smart.

[00:38:01] I mean, she does her thing.

[00:38:03] She out there and she's used like a classy sexy.

[00:38:06] You know what I mean?

[00:38:07] That I, that I, maybe, you know, feminine.

[00:38:10] I like that.

[00:38:11] You know what I mean?

[00:38:12] Yeah.

[00:38:13] You don't see that too often nowadays.

[00:38:15] Everybody want to try and beat you up.

[00:38:17] There is that.

[00:38:18] There's also just, you never know what you're going to get really.

[00:38:22] Well, again, I've been out of the game for too long.

[00:38:25] So, yeah, and just stepping into the game again.

[00:38:27] So I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.

[00:38:29] I'm lost.

[00:38:30] It's not a contest.

[00:38:32] It's not a contest.

[00:38:33] What does that mean again?

[00:38:34] I have no idea what the hell is going on.

[00:38:39] No, no, no.

[00:38:40] They're all cute.

[00:38:44] Keeping on my comics and movies.

[00:38:47] I keep moving forward.

[00:38:48] Don't you worry.

[00:38:49] Ah, totally.

[00:38:50] Uh, what, uh, upcoming comics are you anticipating the most right

[00:38:55] now?

[00:38:56] I always continue on my spawn storyline.

[00:38:58] The continuation of that new Conan run from Titan.

[00:39:01] I'm excited because they brought it back to us.

[00:39:03] They took it away from Marvel.

[00:39:05] They're like, no Marvel.

[00:39:06] You cannot put Conan in modern times.

[00:39:09] It just don't work.

[00:39:10] That's not what Conan is.

[00:39:12] Now what we want.

[00:39:13] They joined that, you know, Titan got it.

[00:39:16] And that first issue, you know, sold out at a distributor level,

[00:39:20] which is fantastic.

[00:39:21] I mean, wow.

[00:39:22] So that is going to show the power of Conan.

[00:39:24] This is a new Bronze Age, baby.

[00:39:26] Remember, it was Conan number one that brought in the original

[00:39:29] Bronze Age of comics.

[00:39:31] Exactly.

[00:39:32] This bringing a new age for real, you know,

[00:39:34] because again, Titan to sell out at the sugar level for Conan

[00:39:37] number one, they had a multitude of varying covers on top of that.

[00:39:41] So it's great to see that, you know,

[00:39:43] the X-Men books on fire, that gossip is juicy on those books

[00:39:48] that people are loving, you know,

[00:39:50] and again, what an array of characters and how they're

[00:39:55] able to at least give you about everybody,

[00:39:57] their own story, if you will, and where you connect,

[00:40:00] you know, on such a level within one book to so many characters.

[00:40:03] Shit.

[00:40:04] I mean, that's powerful.

[00:40:06] You know, in DC moving on, I mean, you see my man, Chris Ford,

[00:40:09] the team loving Night Terrorists from DC,

[00:40:12] you know, the current event that DC is doing.

[00:40:14] So you guys got to check that out several reviews on these

[00:40:17] comic crew on the different titles.

[00:40:19] If you want to get kind of an overall scope of what's

[00:40:21] popping there.

[00:40:23] You know, again, a lot of things,

[00:40:25] but there's too many things that independent worlds going nuts

[00:40:28] as well.

[00:40:29] So, you know, image dropping void rivals.

[00:40:31] I mean, who doesn't want to read that got transformers

[00:40:35] and G I Joe popping into the image universe is the first time

[00:40:38] the transformers is an image.

[00:40:40] And, you know, we're anticipating the the transformers run

[00:40:44] coming up in the fall, you know, that corporate commander,

[00:40:47] number one Duke, number one to bring in the G I Joe back

[00:40:50] to the image you through this void rival.

[00:40:52] So yeah, I mean, Marvel got, what was it wrong and

[00:40:57] Michael knots, you know, kind of a shame that not one label

[00:41:00] got it because we could have finally probably seen a

[00:41:03] combined Hasbro verse and get to what we wanted.

[00:41:08] Like I'm pissed that transformers the movie they missed out.

[00:41:13] I'm going to say it here.

[00:41:15] They missed out on opportunity camp.

[00:41:18] Yeah, they had so many crossovers they could have done

[00:41:21] it.

[00:41:22] Yeah, I mean, you know, listen, you saw the end of the

[00:41:25] new transformers by the bees.

[00:41:26] Did you?

[00:41:27] Yeah, it was delight scene in theaters.

[00:41:29] I was telling James Gapsy your fun.

[00:41:32] Hey, James, very who will win?

[00:41:35] Because, you know, I was saying him react to

[00:41:38] dollar destiny rumors.

[00:41:39] I'm like, dude, fuck the internet.

[00:41:41] Go see the fucking movie.

[00:41:43] Yeah.

[00:41:44] So seeing that ending, right?

[00:41:47] The bonus clip, you know, you know, G I Joe everybody

[00:41:50] I think they fucked up.

[00:41:52] Oh, interesting.

[00:41:53] No, I'd love to hear that, you know, because

[00:41:55] so because there I think listen, if humans are

[00:41:59] not getting earth, you know, transformer technology

[00:42:02] and you got this kid that's a whiz kid, right?

[00:42:06] Why not introduce them to mask?

[00:42:10] Haven't been Matt tracker.

[00:42:13] We know if you watch the old school mass cartoon,

[00:42:17] this is basically vehicles that would transform

[00:42:19] into, you know, something I forgot about that.

[00:42:22] Yeah.

[00:42:23] So imagine introducing that like, yo, we have the

[00:42:25] tech that could probably fight these guys.

[00:42:27] You know, you can introduce to the mask movie.

[00:42:29] Mass can handle the transformers threat in their

[00:42:32] movie and then we get motherfucking G I Joe like,

[00:42:35] yo, I think we have the right group to back

[00:42:38] you up.

[00:42:39] Holy shit.

[00:42:41] I think they, you know, what a connection for

[00:42:43] an ad verse to bring something new to the screen

[00:42:46] as well.

[00:42:47] You know, come on.

[00:42:49] And what's annoying is I'm seeing people always anytime

[00:42:51] they do a crossover now everyone's like, oh,

[00:42:53] they're aping MCU and DC.

[00:42:55] I'm like, guys, they've had crossovers for years.

[00:42:57] Look at the same elsewhere.

[00:42:59] Val Verde saga.

[00:43:01] Yeah, listen, yeah, crossover crossover.

[00:43:03] This is okay.

[00:43:04] Val Verde you got die hard predator alien speed

[00:43:08] blade runner all in the same universe.

[00:43:11] I mean, you want to talk about crossover.

[00:43:13] You can even talk about the M nice.

[00:43:15] So there you go.

[00:43:16] Yeah, you did a crossover within his universe.

[00:43:18] That's okay.

[00:43:19] We figured out it was a connected universe.

[00:43:21] Thanks to that we're like, whoa.

[00:43:22] So many filmmakers pretty much will have Easter eggs

[00:43:26] implying that their movies are basically all connected.

[00:43:29] It's they're right.

[00:43:30] And that's fine.

[00:43:31] What's wrong with having a universe?

[00:43:33] It's okay because that's what makes it distinct again.

[00:43:35] Sometimes I understand why comic book movies got to be

[00:43:38] different.

[00:43:39] I mean, this is time to the comic book movie.

[00:43:40] I think the approach is the multiverse.

[00:43:42] You know, this is not my comic book universe and I got to take

[00:43:45] it with a grain of salt and whether it's going to be good or bad.

[00:43:48] Let's see.

[00:43:49] Like I'm looking forward to the blue beetle.

[00:43:51] I know that DC movie and everybody crafts on DC.

[00:43:53] Yeah.

[00:43:54] Hey, there's the first time we get a Latino lead.

[00:43:56] Let me see what happens.

[00:43:57] Everybody celebrated, you know,

[00:43:59] Shang-Chi and Black Panther, you know,

[00:44:01] I mean, celebrate every other movie.

[00:44:03] So let's show some support for this one.

[00:44:05] Why not?

[00:44:09] Yeah.

[00:44:10] Right.

[00:44:11] Better safe than sorry, because these contracts,

[00:44:13] they're expiring soon and you won't get to do this anytime later.

[00:44:16] If you like karate,

[00:44:17] can you gonna see my man in the blue beetle uniform?

[00:44:20] I mean, from the car kids TV show that is.

[00:44:22] Hello, that's so a great way to do sign from the A's

[00:44:28] and bring it back properly.

[00:44:29] Like they did with the evil debt show to where that got

[00:44:31] canceled.

[00:44:33] That, that's an idea.

[00:44:36] If you were a content creator in,

[00:44:38] how would you run your writer studio?

[00:44:40] Do you think?

[00:44:42] Oh man, let's create something original.

[00:44:44] Let's have some fun,

[00:44:45] but I would definitely give them the creative control.

[00:44:47] You know, if, if I have an opinion, it's just that an

[00:44:51] opinion, not something that I would force something that maybe

[00:44:54] we could discuss, you know what I mean?

[00:44:56] And have a consensus.

[00:44:57] You wouldn't like anyone consensus rule things.

[00:44:59] Yeah.

[00:45:00] Not one person rule.

[00:45:02] And not one person is going to rule over here.

[00:45:04] Let's make, listen, if it's a labor of love,

[00:45:06] then let's prove it by making it a group effort.

[00:45:09] Cause then it will really show.

[00:45:11] I think there you go.

[00:45:13] Energy is real and energy does display itself when

[00:45:16] something is done with, with originality and love.

[00:45:19] You could actually see it and feel it,

[00:45:21] you know, in one form or another.

[00:45:23] I believe.

[00:45:25] Absolutely.

[00:45:26] And when you collect all those great moods,

[00:45:28] oh, it's, it's a thought you can't.

[00:45:32] Yeah, you want to recreate just endlessly.

[00:45:35] Absolutely. Absolutely.

[00:45:37] Sometimes you can't recapture that energy.

[00:45:39] This is why you got to enjoy the moment when they say,

[00:45:42] so enjoy that moment of that creative energy through your best

[00:45:45] work then.

[00:45:46] No, that's definitely very hard to recapture this when people

[00:45:49] see a sequel to something and they feel, oh man, I'm disappointed.

[00:45:52] Yeah.

[00:45:53] Because sometimes the OGA was just a moment that moment in time.

[00:45:56] Yeah.

[00:45:57] I don't know if you asked for too much.

[00:45:59] Yeah, there's just, you know, you can recreate energy, unfortunately.

[00:46:05] Man, and.

[00:46:08] We also wonder what's it going to take to just encourage people to

[00:46:12] be constructive.

[00:46:17] They can see yourself folks try to be positive.

[00:46:20] Let me stay away from watching the news.

[00:46:22] I think that's one thing.

[00:46:24] I think that's the biggest thing.

[00:46:26] That's the biggest thing to do.

[00:46:28] Yeah, it's the biggest thing, but the biggest thing is the

[00:46:30] biggest thing is the biggest thing is the biggest thing.

[00:46:32] And then I listen to the news and then I take off for the day.

[00:46:35] Yeah, take exactly do that.

[00:46:37] Listen to things you enjoyed and take over into some good music.

[00:46:40] You know, get creative or go outside.

[00:46:43] Take a walk or go to the gym.

[00:46:45] You know, make yourself a good meal.

[00:46:47] You know what I mean?

[00:46:48] Learn to do something new.

[00:46:49] Really good book.

[00:46:50] But definitely stop watching the news.

[00:46:52] You know, I think life is boring again.

[00:46:54] I think we can sleep well.

[00:46:56] Yeah, exactly.

[00:46:57] Get it done.

[00:46:58] Be happy.

[00:46:59] That's all.

[00:47:00] Try to be happy.

[00:47:01] Find the best in life.

[00:47:03] Listen, if you wake up every day, that's a good day.

[00:47:07] That's a good point too.

[00:47:09] I see so many that they just wake up and they just fret.

[00:47:12] It's like, well, you just gave all that,

[00:47:14] all that energy that didn't merit that.

[00:47:17] All that negative energy.

[00:47:19] Don't do that.

[00:47:20] Wake up, say thank you.

[00:47:22] I'm awake.

[00:47:23] Let's get it done.

[00:47:24] And you know, listen, you have a roof over your head.

[00:47:26] Many of us, you know, we have food and our tummy.

[00:47:28] We have love, you know, in our circle.

[00:47:30] You know, appreciate that.

[00:47:32] And those that don't, you know what I mean?

[00:47:34] That's, you know, and they need the help.

[00:47:36] So, you know, let's feel that energy and give them that love

[00:47:38] and support too that they need to lift themselves up.

[00:47:40] Energy is real.

[00:47:41] I want to keep saying that no one really understands when I say

[00:47:44] about energies real people will feel it.

[00:47:46] Yeah.

[00:47:47] You know, it's a minute given you could lift up somebody.

[00:47:49] Absolutely dude.

[00:47:50] I see my sister still make all these pop culture jokes.

[00:47:53] And I tell her, Hey,

[00:47:54] these people are not movie TV people.

[00:47:56] I'm not trying to ruin your senior,

[00:47:58] but they're not going to get what you're talking about.

[00:47:59] And then the next thing you know, she goes in, she gets all frustrated.

[00:48:02] Why does no one know what I'm talking about?

[00:48:04] I'm like, I told you.

[00:48:05] You.

[00:48:07] You should be able to read the room by now just come in and

[00:48:10] just go.

[00:48:11] Yeah.

[00:48:12] This is a geeky crowd.

[00:48:14] I think I can make a few jokes and they're going to get this.

[00:48:17] Hasbro joke.

[00:48:18] This Star Trek reference, this.

[00:48:20] I don't know.

[00:48:21] Superhero talk.

[00:48:24] This trending social media topic.

[00:48:26] Yeah.

[00:48:27] Yeah.

[00:48:28] When I'm in the room, I stay quiet for the first hour.

[00:48:30] I'm just looking around the room.

[00:48:32] You study.

[00:48:34] And once I'm ready, it's all right.

[00:48:36] You know, is it time for Alex or the time for our mega?

[00:48:41] There you go.

[00:48:42] Good loud time.

[00:48:44] Always differentiate the energy to Alex is calm.

[00:48:48] Cool and collected.

[00:48:49] So collected.

[00:48:50] You know, that camera was on as a whole different world.

[00:48:54] Yeah.

[00:48:55] Man.

[00:48:56] And better safe than sorry.

[00:48:58] Just feel it.

[00:48:59] Absorb all that energy.

[00:49:01] Reflected back.

[00:49:02] Do you do you so long as you're not harm or nobody just do

[00:49:05] you and be happy and for real then the day fall your past

[00:49:08] and follow your heart.

[00:49:09] It's not wrong with that.

[00:49:11] There's the best thing in the world.

[00:49:13] It'll bring you nothing but joy.

[00:49:15] Right.

[00:49:16] When you feel so good.

[00:49:17] The things you enjoy.

[00:49:18] And especially when you're able to help others.

[00:49:21] I think that's is the ultimate.

[00:49:24] Reach when somebody comes back to you and says, yo,

[00:49:27] thank you so much for doing that.

[00:49:28] I got over on this.

[00:49:29] Hey, other people hit me up.

[00:49:31] They appreciate it.

[00:49:32] That I was on your show.

[00:49:33] Is that like, you know, no, thank you.

[00:49:36] Thank you.

[00:49:37] So, you know, at the end of the day, so, you know,

[00:49:40] just thank you for even leaving one accompaniment.

[00:49:42] Yeah, just be grateful.

[00:49:44] So glad it's true folks.

[00:49:45] It's so easy to do that.

[00:49:47] Just, you know,

[00:49:49] yep, these are the suck.

[00:49:51] So much when one goes other way.

[00:49:54] Leaves even the simplest comment saying, Hey.

[00:49:57] You changed me.

[00:50:00] Yeah, something something that affects it.

[00:50:03] It's so, it's so great.

[00:50:05] I mean, even when I was at a con online,

[00:50:07] I'm on the couple capes and some girl went up to me.

[00:50:10] Oh my God.

[00:50:11] If I'm on the call, can they all into you guys all the time?

[00:50:14] I love you guys.

[00:50:15] Oh crap.

[00:50:16] Thank you.

[00:50:19] Wow.

[00:50:20] Okay.

[00:50:22] That was one of the first times and I was talking to somebody like,

[00:50:25] you know her.

[00:50:26] I'm like, absolutely not.

[00:50:27] Like, oh, that's pretty cool bro.

[00:50:30] I know the network has fans.

[00:50:32] You know her now.

[00:50:34] Network my people have fans.

[00:50:37] People.

[00:50:38] That's my people got fan.

[00:50:40] Yeah, right?

[00:50:41] Some blessing.

[00:50:43] So how did you get to join the who would win team where you was

[00:50:48] it because James Gapsy was already working and he invited you on

[00:50:51] and vice versa.

[00:50:52] I know that for a minute because you know,

[00:50:54] comic cool back and they always posting like,

[00:50:56] who would win fights?

[00:50:57] You know, just general fights as a comic book geek.

[00:51:00] I guess they found me doing that when we just, you know,

[00:51:03] probably and talk, you know what I mean?

[00:51:05] Hey, what you doing?

[00:51:06] Oh, I'm so sorry.

[00:51:07] What you do, you know, and just over the years, you know,

[00:51:10] just politics over the internet and then came to see 2019.

[00:51:15] I finally make James in person over there.

[00:51:19] I mean, we hung out for a bit, you know, and bullshit.

[00:51:23] You know, again, we've kept our friendship ever since then.

[00:51:26] And you know, it's cool.

[00:51:27] It's been trying to get me on the show and we finally had the

[00:51:29] right time.

[00:51:30] So, you know, hell yeah.

[00:51:32] Why not?

[00:51:33] Who will win is one of the most fun podcasting questions,

[00:51:35] especially as a geek.

[00:51:36] It'll have you screaming in your car like, are you crazy?

[00:51:40] Ray.

[00:51:41] And I mean, listen, Cam, I'm saying publicly that I am

[00:51:45] embarrassed and sad that I had to side with Ray.

[00:51:49] I really wanted to sign with my boy James, but realistically

[00:51:53] could not, you know, I have to be fair.

[00:51:55] I can't blame you.

[00:51:57] Yeah.

[00:51:58] I want to do a hashtag.

[00:51:59] I can't believe I sided with Ray.

[00:52:01] Ray is wrong always.

[00:52:05] Oh man.

[00:52:06] It wasn't wrong, but I can't believe I sided with him.

[00:52:09] Okay. He wasn't wrong.

[00:52:10] He was just mistaken.

[00:52:11] Oh, wait a minute.

[00:52:13] Do you believe I was wrong in the adjustment of Dr.

[00:52:16] No, I believe he used his mind trick on you and it worked.

[00:52:20] Oh, it's called emotion.

[00:52:24] It's called emotion.

[00:52:25] It's all right.

[00:52:26] I've had all these guys on here.

[00:52:28] Say, Virginia and she's busy as fuck.

[00:52:31] So get on here when she wants to get on here.

[00:52:34] Probably never.

[00:52:35] But let me ask you.

[00:52:37] You have to discover who would win.

[00:52:40] That's great.

[00:52:42] Great question.

[00:52:43] Who would win is out Kevin Bacon?

[00:52:45] Yeah.

[00:52:46] Who would win?

[00:52:48] Pretty much is.

[00:52:50] It's a who's who of who's fought each other.

[00:52:53] I can't remember if I typed in verses or if there were some

[00:52:56] comedians who were guest starring on there or what, but.

[00:52:59] It just trickled it up enough and I think it kept showing up on

[00:53:03] Twitter and then I finally checked it out and I was like,

[00:53:06] wow, this is a hoot.

[00:53:08] It's not even about the battles.

[00:53:10] It's just about just two comedians doing a wacky things.

[00:53:13] And I don't even know the slogan of who's lies. Anyway,

[00:53:16] the points really don't matter.

[00:53:18] And just doing a mock battle back and forth and having all these

[00:53:22] other comedians being judged during executioner, having voice

[00:53:25] actors come in.

[00:53:28] It's just it's eye opening and.

[00:53:31] I've discovered so many great comedians on there as a result

[00:53:34] too. So it's just.

[00:53:36] It's just cool to see just creativity striving.

[00:53:40] Absolutely. Absolutely.

[00:53:42] And James and that team got so many things going on.

[00:53:45] So, you know, keep on talking about them.

[00:53:48] Definitely on team.

[00:53:49] W, W, W all the way.

[00:53:53] Well, and.

[00:53:55] I your attitude.

[00:53:58] Like we're talking about energy now.

[00:54:00] Same, same deal.

[00:54:01] Like it's just infectious great energy.

[00:54:05] And each time you open your mouth,

[00:54:07] each time you give a ruling on any of these podcasts is just like,

[00:54:10] man.

[00:54:12] This is where I need to be.

[00:54:16] We need more things like this.

[00:54:19] Thank you. I appreciate that.

[00:54:21] I mean, it's, I just do what you love.

[00:54:23] Sometimes it's where I come from just, you know,

[00:54:25] find the energy and what I love and,

[00:54:27] and just being, you know, energized by it.

[00:54:31] Again, this is fun. Right?

[00:54:33] This is pop culture.

[00:54:35] It's supposed to make you happy.

[00:54:37] It's supposed to keep you entertained.

[00:54:39] It's supposed to make you think supposed to bring some joy.

[00:54:41] I mean, so much.

[00:54:43] So I just get it all up.

[00:54:45] I mean, I could, I watch anything and everything and I like,

[00:54:48] you know, wow, thank you.

[00:54:49] I mean, I wish I was talented enough to draw like that.

[00:54:51] Time to the north to write like that.

[00:54:53] Maybe talented enough to do a movie like that.

[00:54:55] You know, so I come from a sense of appreciation like, wow,

[00:54:58] these people are so amazing.

[00:55:00] Like, so this is why I do these podcasts.

[00:55:02] I want to write like, how did you even do this?

[00:55:05] Like what inspired you with how did you come from, you know,

[00:55:08] to do this?

[00:55:09] Because the stories, you know, some of them coming from nothing

[00:55:12] and being, you know, I'm not going to say that we're self

[00:55:15] made because somebody corrected me.

[00:55:17] No, I wasn't self made because I had a partner and that

[00:55:20] I was very self made.

[00:55:21] You were God made, you know, I had support, you know,

[00:55:25] when no one was there, there was one person, somebody there.

[00:55:29] So you had good support, but you knew instantly from day one,

[00:55:33] I will do this.

[00:55:34] I will not do that.

[00:55:35] Yeah, I speak for this.

[00:55:37] I don't speak for that.

[00:55:38] Yep, absolutely.

[00:55:39] And I mean, listen, we've been through the gossip, you know,

[00:55:42] unfortunately, you know, certain things hit certain team members

[00:55:46] that wanted to be on that narrative and starting things that

[00:55:50] I did not want to partake in, you know what I mean?

[00:55:53] It was like, listen, there's enough of this.

[00:55:54] There's sites that want to cover that.

[00:55:55] I don't want to be about that.

[00:55:57] Not, yeah.

[00:55:58] Not what you signed up for.

[00:55:59] And I had to lose team members that way.

[00:56:02] And just it's going forward.

[00:56:03] That is why I vet everybody like this.

[00:56:05] We don't want people that does, you know, listen,

[00:56:07] everybody could believe in what they believe in and I'm fine with

[00:56:09] that, you know, but this isn't about that.

[00:56:12] You join here understanding we're not here to cover political

[00:56:15] things.

[00:56:16] We're here to celebrate, celebrate this wonderful thing we

[00:56:20] have because any day you could get lost.

[00:56:23] Absolutely could, you know,

[00:56:25] many companies can say, you know what?

[00:56:28] I don't give a crap no more.

[00:56:29] I'm not going to produce it on this content.

[00:56:31] I'm done.

[00:56:32] So, you know, why?

[00:56:33] Because maybe so many of the community was spitting hate on

[00:56:37] it.

[00:56:38] Maybe I mean, you know, don't destroy spirits.

[00:56:40] You know how hard it is to create something and so hard

[00:56:44] to share it with people and publicly.

[00:56:47] I mean, they'll share it publicly to get skewered.

[00:56:50] I mean, wow, why would you do that?

[00:56:52] I mean, doesn't make any sense.

[00:56:54] I mean, it's really constructive in any criticism.

[00:56:57] In my opinion, that's all really be constructive.

[00:57:00] Don't don't say I hate it.

[00:57:02] And as that it sucks.

[00:57:03] I mean, why?

[00:57:04] Why?

[00:57:05] Why is it bad?

[00:57:06] Yeah.

[00:57:07] You know, this that that's what you need to do.

[00:57:11] You would think that would be enough but I'm blessing people like

[00:57:14] that on my team because they also are many of them have

[00:57:17] been created or come from a creative perspective.

[00:57:20] You know me or have been collectors 3040 years.

[00:57:23] I mean, I have good numbers other than myself that have been buying

[00:57:26] bookshelves before I was born.

[00:57:28] You know, you know, we have we have like it's a rarity.

[00:57:33] 300 years of collective experience and our ages.

[00:57:37] And then some and then some.

[00:57:39] Yeah.

[00:57:40] Oh my God.

[00:57:41] 300 plus years.

[00:57:42] We're with us.

[00:57:43] Hey, Merlin.

[00:57:44] Right.

[00:57:45] I'm a robot, right?

[00:57:47] Do you wish you were Merlin culture supreme?

[00:57:50] That's good.

[00:57:54] And oh man, what are some projects that are upcoming that you want

[00:57:59] to promote?

[00:58:01] Well, of course I got my business minded podcast where we talk to

[00:58:06] motivational coaches and entrepreneurs.

[00:58:09] Know that are outside the scope of pop culture.

[00:58:17] you know, YouTube, I mean, and the socials.

[00:58:20] You know, I talked to amazing guests that, you know,

[00:58:23] that have found ways to make mega bucks

[00:58:25] and they want to teach you and inspire you

[00:58:27] on how to do that, you know what I mean?

[00:58:29] So that's something great.

[00:58:32] Always check out my man, Johnny,

[00:58:33] the machine user outside the panels

[00:58:36] because oh my gosh, is he busy?

[00:58:39] People love talking to my man, John.

[00:58:40] Yes he is.

[00:58:41] It's the English accent.

[00:58:43] That's why people love talking to my man, John.

[00:58:45] The British accent.

[00:58:46] He does great interviews, a lot of fun, you know what I mean?

[00:58:49] And those are pre-recorded and we drop whenever somebody wants.

[00:58:52] So, you know, we have a bunch of coming, you know,

[00:58:54] he work hard.

[00:58:55] We got a DC show, definitive crusade,

[00:58:58] drops every two weeks.

[00:58:59] We got a Marvel podcast, the No Price podcast,

[00:59:02] drops every two weeks.

[00:59:03] I mean, which actually is dropping this week tomorrow.

[00:59:06] So you gotta check that out.

[00:59:07] It drops every other Tuesday.

[00:59:09] All right, so check those out.

[00:59:11] Then we got K-pop Cosmos as well.

[00:59:14] Yes, we even cover K-pop music with Freya and my man,

[00:59:17] Marky Mark, where about?

[00:59:19] Thank you.

[00:59:20] I mean, coverings to music.

[00:59:21] We got sloppy spoilers with David Taylor.

[00:59:24] We got cinema crusaders with Nemesis and, you know,

[00:59:42] And then I got an amazing young hip hop artist coming,

[01:00:03] That's lovely.

[01:00:05] And what is it?

[01:00:08] You were quoting Conan earlier, talking about that.

[01:00:12] To do a play on that.

[01:00:13] What is best in life?

[01:00:16] What do you mean?

[01:00:19] What do you mean, what's best in life?

[01:00:20] You remember the Conan line in the movie?

[01:00:23] Oh, the barbarian.

[01:00:25] What is the best in life?

[01:00:27] Are you trying to get me in trouble right now?

[01:00:28] No.

[01:00:31] I get that there's some politically incorrect diction in there.

[01:00:33] I just mean in general, like,

[01:00:35] what is best in life in your life?

[01:00:36] No, but definitely what's best in life?

[01:00:40] Sharing a good energy with people,

[01:00:43] putting your best self forward,

[01:00:45] and recognizing your suspiciousness

[01:00:48] and working on them,

[01:00:50] so to be able to be that better person

[01:00:52] and be able to help the next man or woman even better.

[01:00:55] You know what I mean?

[01:00:56] Let's put ourselves out there with our best energy

[01:00:58] and our best for forward.

[01:00:59] Let's make this world a better place.

[01:01:01] I mean, it sounds cheesy,

[01:01:04] but we could do that as individuals.

[01:01:08] And you never know how infectious your energy could be.

[01:01:11] Absolutely.

[01:01:13] You never know where it's going to go.

[01:01:15] Absolutely.

[01:01:15] You want to use it well.

[01:01:19] Alrighty, my dude.

[01:01:20] Responsibly, folks.

[01:01:22] Yes, true responsibly.

[01:01:24] That's...

[01:01:27] Al, you put on quite a show, my dude.

[01:01:30] Now, brother, you rock.

[01:01:31] You're great. Great questions.

[01:01:33] You make the energy come out, my brother.

[01:01:37] I hope so.

[01:01:38] I love it.

[01:01:39] That's the other thing, too.

[01:01:40] I'll see somebody people kind of linger around

[01:01:43] and be full of themselves and like,

[01:01:44] dude, if you weren't digging it,

[01:01:47] that tone is not going to be visible at all in the playback.

[01:01:50] Oh, man, I love this, boy.

[01:01:52] You're the awesome...

[01:01:52] And I love your background, too.

[01:01:54] I don't know how to swim.

[01:01:57] I don't know how to swim.

[01:01:58] Really?

[01:01:59] I'm going to scare them off falling.

[01:02:00] I tell people, I ain't afraid of heights.

[01:02:02] I'm afraid of falling.

[01:02:03] You're not afraid of flying or afraid of flying

[01:02:08] into the wrong billboard?

[01:02:10] Al, could you imagine?

[01:02:12] You don't want to see how I make a splatter anywhere.

[01:02:14] You know what I mean?

[01:02:16] Especially after a good meal, it would be horrible.

[01:02:18] Oh, shit.

[01:02:19] I got dark.

[01:02:27] That kind of day, but hey, you're in the mood.

[01:02:30] It's an infectious mood.

[01:02:31] I love it. I dig it.

[01:02:32] Hopefully everyone else does, too.

[01:02:34] Of course they do.

[01:02:35] Your side's taken off.

[01:02:38] I'm sure you're impressed by the numbers, you know?

[01:02:42] I'm happy.

[01:02:43] Either way, I'm telling you, a lot of people is worldwide.

[01:02:45] And again, it's all a credit to my amazing team

[01:02:48] and the supporters and people that come in and share.

[01:02:52] Thank you all, too, because without you guys,

[01:02:54] we ain't anything for real.

[01:02:55] So to every person that visits and clicks,

[01:02:59] even comments, even if they don't agree with what we share.

[01:03:02] Thank you.

[01:03:04] Thank you. I appreciate you.

[01:03:05] Thank you for just taking the time to address us, even.

[01:03:08] Thank you for acknowledging our existence.

[01:03:10] Exactly. Thank you guys.

[01:03:12] All press is good press.

[01:03:14] Love you guys.

[01:03:15] You guys are amazing.

[01:03:16] So God bless you guys all on your journey, for real.

[01:03:19] Do something.

[01:03:21] Do something.

[01:03:22] Sometimes go outside, experience the world,

[01:03:24] and then you can share that with the world.

[01:03:26] Exactly.

[01:03:27] And do, you can.

[01:03:28] Get off your ass.

[01:03:30] Do it.

[01:03:31] We got the internet.

[01:03:32] If I had this in the 90s,

[01:03:34] I probably would have been locked up, though,

[01:03:35] because of the trouble we were getting into.

[01:03:37] GeoCities would be...

[01:03:39] Give me some mail saying, hey, what happened here?

[01:03:45] GeoCities.

[01:03:48] What convention can we catch you at?

[01:03:50] At typical annual Comic-Con?

[01:03:53] Well, definitely doing New York Comic-Con this year.

[01:03:55] I'm going in this press.

[01:03:56] I'm gonna be all over the show floor,

[01:03:58] Matt busy, but you're definitely gonna be seeing this logo

[01:04:00] zooming around.

[01:04:01] Yeah, yeah.

[01:04:02] Any other ones we can catch you at?

[01:04:03] Typically.

[01:04:05] You always wanna catch me there.

[01:04:06] Terrific Kanye always catch me around in Comic-Con.

[01:04:09] You're gonna catch me this year.

[01:04:11] Bobo Mac, my amazing toy reviewer,

[01:04:14] which I forgot to mention, man, my toy guy,

[01:04:16] Toyverse, big Bobo Mac is gonna be over

[01:04:19] at Colorado Springs.

[01:04:22] Comic-Con, that's coming up.

[01:04:24] It seems to be very busy this time of year, yeah.

[01:04:26] Oh yeah, it's cons everywhere.

[01:04:28] I was just, you know, I tried to go to Fan Expo

[01:04:30] and had a horrible experience where I had to turn around

[01:04:33] because there was no parking at the facility.

[01:04:35] Oh, no.

[01:04:37] Apparently they did it.

[01:04:38] I don't know if it was sabotaged a while,

[01:04:40] but there was another event going on

[01:04:41] and people were taking advantage

[01:04:42] to park there during that event.

[01:04:44] I'm sorry.

[01:04:45] Taking all of the con parking.

[01:04:47] So, you know, we drove for an hour for nothing,

[01:04:49] but not really, cause then we went to Ziggy Bombs

[01:04:51] to have one of the dopest steak and cheese sandwiches.

[01:04:54] Yeah, so something good.

[01:04:55] There you go.

[01:04:56] I like this positive twist.

[01:04:57] It's like, hey, that's so hard to believe.

[01:04:58] Dude, that steak and cheese can,

[01:05:00] if you ever come out here to Wooster,

[01:05:01] I gotta take you over to Ziggy Bombs.

[01:05:04] That steak and cheese is melting your mouth.

[01:05:07] God, I'm hungry now.

[01:05:08] I'm about to call my boy.

[01:05:09] Can we go to Ziggy Bombs again?

[01:05:14] Sounds like a plan.

[01:05:15] Yeah, for real.

[01:05:16] Well, come on down.

[01:05:17] I got you.

[01:05:18] Promise.
