Epic Movie Music Week: Retrospect on music composer and sound mixer Sean Callery

[00:00:51] Hello and behold, we're talking about another piano, Latin film composer and iconic TV score.

[00:01:02] Man known as Sean Callery. So, here we go.

[00:01:07] You heard all the stuff. He's done covers of everything, even one at Emmy for doing sound design on Star Trek, Take Space Nine.

[00:01:15] But yeah, so let's just get to it.

[00:01:19] He did a lot of synthesizing and at New England Conservatory of Music, even earning a degree in piano performance.

[00:01:26] And it shows that's pretty much what makes his score stand out.

[00:01:31] And he's done everything. He did a femnacita for USA Network, the UPN show Freedom, can be shows like Sheena and then pretty much cemented his Emmy win.

[00:01:45] First, seasons two, five and eight of 24. He also scored the TV continuation of that show Redemption as well as the other spin-offs.

[00:01:59] And then scored medium, shark, bones, the confession for Hula which is another fun hit man drama, the Kennedys, homeland,

[00:02:11] again, the bone spin-off The Finder, Sherlock Holmes reimagination and elementary for CBS, Backstram which is a funny Rainn Wilson crime show that didn't last too long,

[00:02:24] the crappy Minority Report TV show, and Marvel's Jessica Jones for Netflix as well as Designate Survivor,

[00:02:33] the Trocious Marvel show Inhumans and currently scores Bull, Michael Weatherly which is ending soon as well as the short-lived show Next which was a cyber filler.

[00:02:48] But yeah, he also scored the 24 video game but his James Bond take on the iconic James Bond score for everything or nothing should totally be listened to.

[00:03:00] You can totally YouTube that bitch and just say wow that's great.

[00:03:05] So a lot of his scores have been released by Verizon, Cereban and it's just so wild how it's Connecticut man this has come out of the bloom and you listen to his scores and you're like man,

[00:03:17] you should be doing more movies.

[00:03:19] So we did do an IMAX film short film and then followed up with the Mario Van Peebles supernatural serial killer film Blowback which is okay.

[00:03:28] It's not perfect but fun B movie outing.

[00:03:32] And then reunited with the 24 creators for a small time coming of age comedy drama which basically is dealing with just middle class guys you know pretty much becoming salesman and working on cars among other things and it's just a very positive feel good movie.

[00:03:55] Small time check it out and his most recent score was actually for the Liam Neeson filler.

[00:04:02] The marksman which was directed by Robert Lawrence who had worked for Clint Eastwood previously and it's so interesting how this one is kind of flew around the radar but said way better just material going for it compared to just so many other recent Nissan fillers so yeah.

[00:04:24] It's interesting how this one is just been getting a little mildly rediscovered and it's pretty solid.
