[00:00:11] He gave the people manna. If a man is capable of stealing the credit for a feat of such enormity, I say, give him time.

[00:01:08] Dream's getting worse. What did you do to us?

[00:01:13] I'm just going to ask you some questions. 20 years ago, a corporation made artificial people. I called them replicants, hoping they'd do all our heavy lifting without ever complaining.

[00:01:47] Humanity would have stopped without you. But ideas mean nothing without the money and power to actionize it. Police in a trauma. Suspect is female, 20s. LAPD, stop! How do you expect to control nature?

[00:03:26] I was actually going to bring up the Adult Swim cartoon. Yeah, the Black Lotus series. Should have gotten three more seasons. Is that good? I think you're going to love it. I had to skim through it to prep for this, but boy howdy. I mean, down, all the detail. Down to her samurai sword, down to the different kind of cars and driving, down to expanding the cities we already know.

[00:03:46] I mean, even the Synthwave score, that's something you could work out to. That is, oh man, that is influential music. That is good use of the city. Watching the first episode of Black Lotus, it reminded me so much of Ghost in the Shell, Stand Alone Complex, that series. But I know it's not that. It reminded me so much of that.

[00:04:08] That's a good point. I think without any gist of that, Philip K. Dick or Blade Runner, you definitely wouldn't have gotten Akira and Ghost in the Shell or even Steam Boy, which is more steampunk. But still, that's a bit of cyberpunk. You know, it's that whole gist of... And I have to explain this too to people sometimes, too. I'm like, okay, you know, Star Trek and Stargate, they got some cyberpunk elements. Star Wars doesn't have any cyberpunk elements. But the main gist of it is, you know, kind of like Robocop.

[00:04:36] You got a crooked corporation. You got a dystopia. You got people, you know, selling their bodies. You got a lot of social commentary in a futuristic lens. Brain on the sets robots. Oh, yeah. We'll return after these messages.

Hi, I'm James Gavsey, and on the Who Would Win Show, me and my co-host Ray ignore anything important happening in the outside world

[00:06:01] and debate fictional battles between characters from comics, movies, and video games. We got a new show every week, and almost always am I the winner. Yeah, not true, Ray. In the past, we've discussed such matches as Captain America vs. Darth Vader, Solid Snake vs. the Iron Giant, classic matchups like Robocop vs. Terminator, and even the Muppets vs. Sesame Street. That one was crazy. So if you're a fan of geek culture and love a spirited debate, check out the Who Would Win Show wherever you get your podcasts,
