[00:00:00] Your body is not who you are. You've shed it like a snake sheds its skin. You transfer the
[00:00:12] human consciousness between bodies to live from eternal life. I will live up and down.
[00:00:23] You are the property of the bankroft industries. You've been provided with this body, which came
[00:00:35] equipped with military grade neurochem and combat muscle memory.
[00:00:42] Mystical that. I didn't ask you to bring me back into this world. What I ask of you is that
[00:00:50] you solve a murder. Who's? Mine.
[00:00:55] Whoever murdered him must be found, or we're all in danger.
[00:01:05] I'm going to need access that you don't want to go. And I'm going to find answers that you can only think you want.
[00:01:12] Friends, enemies, people with opportunity and motives, you can't trust anybody.
[00:01:21] You don't solve this quickly enough.
[00:01:24] I'll do your research.
[00:01:27] Use more here than you're willing to see.
[00:01:35] Mystery needs to be solved.
[00:01:42] At the tenant? You know saving your assets is not my only job.
[00:01:53] I like her.
[00:02:05] I like her.
[00:02:12] I like her.
[00:02:19] I like her.
[00:02:24] I like her.
[00:02:31] I like her.
[00:02:38] Hello.
[00:02:44] I'm your host, Sully. We're here for another sit down this time.
[00:02:49] Nice acting.
[00:02:50] I'm going to be doing a Netflix sleeper hit. It is the book adaptation that is altered carbon.
[00:02:59] That's described as a cyberpunk answer to blade runner and then some.
[00:03:05] I brought along super mega TV show fans, Patrick Cardi say hi.
[00:03:11] Hey, how you doing?
[00:03:13] Anytime and Sandra Williams.
[00:03:16] Hi, how are you?
[00:03:18] I'm good.
[00:03:21] We need a global retrospect.
[00:03:25] And lo and behold,
[00:03:28] I don't think I've ever seen such a show that like skyrocketed.
[00:03:32] And Netflix or Wikipedia was claiming it was meant with positive reviews.
[00:03:37] But every review I was seeing in the show, it was getting mocked by critics who like.
[00:03:42] I don't know if they found it confusing or weren't fans of the genre.
[00:03:46] I think a lot of people are trying to keep that of it personally.
[00:03:49] I think they took a lot of teeth out of it.
[00:03:51] I mean, by removing like you know even the rapes scene as you know the torturing scene.
[00:03:56] As I'm sure you're a little.
[00:03:59] Yeah, yeah, that thing was like like cut out and it was like cut out before the show was even.
[00:04:05] That was the one was on the table.
[00:04:07] They were like that had to go.
[00:04:09] So.
[00:04:10] I think that and I think the the 12 West stuff.
[00:04:20] The what that isn't in the first book either really.
[00:04:23] Oh, it's kind of a little weird.
[00:04:25] It's a little confusing maybe out of the reviews.
[00:04:27] I was reading it just seemed like they just don't like any kind of play runner or matrix type cyberpunk show.
[00:04:33] And I was like them why you guys here?
[00:04:35] I think that's the point of being a critic is to recommend something while also give me your own takes saying it's not for me personally and.
[00:04:42] There's had a ginormous like ratings and audience score and just shitty critics scores.
[00:04:49] So I'm just like what's going on here?
[00:04:52] I think also it was a little bit of the back and forth.
[00:04:56] There was a lot of back and forth and it got a bit confusing at times.
[00:04:59] Yeah, just trying to figure out which character is who and what slave.
[00:05:04] Sometimes I was like who was this person?
[00:05:06] Did go back and double check who it is all the time.
[00:05:09] Yeah, yeah.
[00:05:10] That's a fair.
[00:05:11] I mean, it is a lot.
[00:05:12] I did get confused at parts of season two halfway through when they introduced the politicians and everything but.
[00:05:18] What do you think some people rejected who was playing certain versions of the same character when they establish.
[00:05:25] I kind of like Dr. Who he's going to literally change his skin.
[00:05:30] So I didn't understand why some people had issues with Joe Keniman versus Brian man versus Anthony Mackey and Roy and Lee and like well it's co-vax.
[00:05:40] Yeah, I just love all of them all of them.
[00:05:43] It's the same person that really doesn't matter who's playing it as long as they're playing it well.
[00:05:48] I mean, it's kind of a fun spot the British New York or Canadian actor.
[00:05:53] You got to say Taylor was a lawyer from bones.
[00:05:56] You got Max headroom himself.
[00:05:58] You know, Matt.
[00:05:59] Tom O'Paynecourt was in the first the first episode.
[00:06:03] Yeah, yeah, Halo from Ballastar.
[00:06:06] Yeah, I love him.
[00:06:07] I got to meet him and he's such a nice man.
[00:06:10] I bet he is.
[00:06:11] Is this one of those you never know if he's going to be that trader or a troublemaker or a guy with a good idea who goes downhill, you got Kristen Leeman from various Matt Flanagan shows and she was also in the killing James purfoy.
[00:06:29] I think he's really good.
[00:06:35] And he's really good at it.
[00:06:37] Hamming it up as the wealthiest man alive.
[00:06:46] Yeah.
[00:06:47] I mean, I really want to get the title.
[00:06:50] Well, I don't really have any big mistakes in the game about the logo made to jingo on chain.
[00:07:01] But yeah, Simon must say, yeah, that was a good point. Yeah, Luke cage yourself and all together it's all, all the only thing I knew about is that they changed the interactive hologram that runs the hotel like originally, it was like someone else.
[00:07:13] And then they went with Edgar Allen Poe.
[00:07:14] I just need to recall someone said it was changed out like it was some other character, but that persona was too controversial so they said let's not have it be a girl and
[00:07:25] Oh, yeah, I can't remember either.
[00:07:29] I know they made some pretty drastic changes.
[00:07:34] For you guys big cyberpunk junkies prior to that in general like you just read anything.
[00:07:39] I'm excited.
[00:07:42] This is full of blade runner and, you know, we see them.
[00:07:47] Oh yeah, I just ignite.
[00:07:49] I mean, even the expanse is another example where both the fans of the book and the standalone TV fans are just pleased with it.
[00:07:56] So this is kind of just the way the future if you want streaming to explode you got to just
[00:08:01] have a serialized crazy mystery in the future.
[00:08:07] Sorry, it was.
[00:08:10] It was the Hendrix estate.
[00:08:14] I'm just reading it now he wouldn't license the image they couldn't use it.
[00:08:18] Oh, that's right.
[00:08:21] Yeah, Jimmy Hendrix. Yeah.
[00:08:23] That makes sense. I mean, Jimmy's just too cool.
[00:08:26] I don't think he wants to hang around sharing people at hotel.
[00:08:30] Yeah, it is funny when they'll say yes versus when they'll say no.
[00:08:36] But I don't know.
[00:08:39] Like because I mean, they definitely went over the top of the violence is like on some stuff and then like like.
[00:08:44] It's like they they wanted to go there.
[00:08:48] But they didn't in some places.
[00:08:51] I don't know if they had nodes or if they just wanted to make everyone uneasy, especially in the claustrophobic.
[00:08:56] And then there's just moments where he's waking up having the memories or being attacked by thousands.
[00:09:02] Having whatever the brothel is really wild stuff.
[00:09:08] Yeah, I don't know how his own kind of heaven.
[00:09:16] Really necessarily.
[00:09:19] It's rough.
[00:09:22] I think it's a good question because.
[00:09:25] I mean, they do kind of deliberately kind of enhance it by.
[00:09:32] Showing how it's larger than life and other times they kind of go for deliberately absurd just to show how it's only just an idea and concept of.
[00:09:44] Yeah, you took the wrong side of it. You know what I mean?
[00:09:48] I think like the soul, but I think.
[00:09:51] Like you make it if you really ground it and you make it is easily.
[00:09:56] You know, if you go there, then I think you get that that then people I think I'm a ten-seed to really dig in.
[00:10:03] You know, you have the success of like in a hospital.
[00:10:06] For instance, right?
[00:10:08] Yeah, I'm really went there and I make shot people, but.
[00:10:13] I'm sure someone reigned them in, I guess. I don't know.
[00:10:16] But then anyone recognize a quill the leader of that other mercenary group.
[00:10:23] I mean, Elise Goldberry, you might know her from Hamilton.
[00:10:28] Much of other things, but I was just kind of blown away by the gal playing the lieutenant with the police Martha.
[00:10:36] So hydraga and she's apparently a very international Mexican actress.
[00:10:41] This is a big international kind of appeal.
[00:10:46] I thought they were taking care of characters really good.
[00:10:49] Yeah, yeah.
[00:10:51] It's kind of everything. It's one minute it's Chinatown the next minute.
[00:10:55] It's like a police corruption and business investigation show.
[00:10:58] Then it's still a who am I identity crisis corporate espionage type stuff.
[00:11:04] Oh, yeah, especially in season two.
[00:11:06] Yeah, and all together I just find it interesting how.
[00:11:13] How do you even write this? You know, like it's so much to just take in little loan.
[00:11:19] Have to illustrate the people. So I can only imagine not just the amount of visual effects preconception,
[00:11:27] the storyboarding, but.
[00:11:30] How do you even envision what will be filmed against a green screen versus.
[00:11:35] What will be just.
[00:11:39] All done in post, you know, it's just like.
[00:11:43] I think well, these are the reliable but too much on post.
[00:11:47] I think this.
[00:11:48] I think it kills her budget in a lot of cases and personally, but.
[00:11:51] It probably was.
[00:11:52] Yeah, I heard rumors of a sea.
[00:11:55] That was one point to Marvel.
[00:11:56] So yeah.
[00:11:58] I think they did a great job.
[00:12:04] At least in the first season of all carbon.
[00:12:06] Some of those shots at the beginning are stunning.
[00:12:09] Yeah, definitely can take your eyes off it.
[00:12:12] Yeah, yeah.
[00:12:13] The city state shot rewax is fantastic.
[00:12:17] But you know, I can't.
[00:12:18] The characters also speak when they need to speak instead of overexplaining the plot to you and.
[00:12:24] Yeah, we're trying to do an adult.
[00:12:26] Yeah, I think that's what I'm talking about.
[00:12:29] Right.
[00:12:30] Right.
[00:12:31] And.
[00:12:32] It's definitely the most human as you're going to get for talking about cyborgs and.
[00:12:36] It is like it might come literally am I comfortable in my own skin.
[00:12:41] Or am I just worried about my soul.
[00:12:44] I make comfortable with somebody else.
[00:12:46] Right.
[00:12:47] Living someone else's life, which has a result means you got to impersonate them.
[00:12:52] And then you know, I think that's a little alone.
[00:12:55] You have some of you share some of their enemies now.
[00:12:58] I mentioned the gender banding down along screw marriage up.
[00:13:03] I imagine.
[00:13:05] So.
[00:13:06] It depends on who you are.
[00:13:07] But yeah, I mean it.
[00:13:09] I love how the verse decided to say this is a lack of focus on relationships between the characters.
[00:13:15] What show were they watching?
[00:13:17] Like.
[00:13:18] I mean, I think it's not.
[00:13:20] Flashbacks to them having build relationships and everything so maybe he was just not involved or invested.
[00:13:29] I'm done.
[00:13:31] Yeah.
[00:13:32] I thought it was.
[00:13:33] Oh sorry.
[00:13:34] I thought it was really sad when Otega brought back who grandmother for that dinner.
[00:13:40] And then she says to her please don't do it again.
[00:13:42] I think it's you know,
[00:13:44] it's quite.
[00:13:45] Yeah.
[00:13:46] Reincarnation, resurrection is a big steam here like Galactica and that they.
[00:13:52] They get real all heavy into just you know I can't let you go even though.
[00:13:59] And I swear I'm not being selfish but you're saying I'm being selfish because you want to die.
[00:14:05] I don't want anyone to die.
[00:14:07] Ali is sitting there.
[00:14:09] You know seeing his daughter over and over again even though he's suffering and he knows that she is but he just keeps doing it because he can't help him.
[00:14:14] Yeah.
[00:14:15] We are a gluttons for our own punishment anyway.
[00:14:17] And would we really do that in real life or would we stop it?
[00:14:21] Yeah, I hit.
[00:14:24] We've had this when we talked about when we lose a pet or some other just great best friend who we we are they're on official family.
[00:14:33] It's just a very emotional thing to roll up and.
[00:14:37] This is why I like hard sci fi like this because.
[00:14:42] Now we're comfortable kind of talking about something like this without getting too melodramatic or too heavy handed and.
[00:14:49] We can.
[00:14:51] Leave it to our imagination instead of getting carried away with a personal argument in public.
[00:14:59] Yeah.
[00:15:00] Yeah.
[00:15:01] Have you seen dollhouse that has dish and lock man in it as well?
[00:15:06] I saw some of that when that was first out but that was kind of just a reminder of how you couldn't go anywhere without seeing some kind of sci fi show.
[00:15:17] That was like the best things and slice butter you know is like it was everywhere on network cable.
[00:15:24] Yeah, that was basically Josh weedens pet project.
[00:15:29] Yes, it was.
[00:15:32] It's but yeah, I'm a big day I can like my fan.
[00:15:37] Is that a pronouncer?
[00:15:40] Yeah, I like my and leekman like man I have an answer.
[00:15:45] I don't know.
[00:15:51] Who would you say is the probably gives the best performance out of all these guys?
[00:15:59] Oh, maybe.
[00:16:03] I don't know because yeah, I think they I can win.
[00:16:07] Yeah, will you and Lee are definitely giving career best for their own respect?
[00:16:11] But yeah, in general as the best of the best like you know them for only this role.
[00:16:17] Yeah, I don't recognize the adrenaline to guy for anything else.
[00:16:21] No, no, it's pretty good.
[00:16:24] I thought Anthony you did a make he did a great job.
[00:16:27] I mean, he's usually and you know the marvel movies.
[00:16:29] I think he did pretty good.
[00:16:33] I lost the stars and the colony's ship before stacks were invented.
[00:16:38] I left a dying earth behind to see the new world.
[00:16:44] Mr. Colt that's just I know what you dream of.
[00:16:53] Your resleeping is now complete.
[00:16:57] The spark design by Camilo BioWare.
[00:17:00] Won't tell you so only rapid healing enhanced reaction time.
[00:17:05] Among other bells and whistles.
[00:17:09] Oh my.
[00:17:12] All the God for taking rocks we've been to all right back where we started.
[00:17:18] How long has it been?
[00:17:20] Thought you swore you'd never return what compelled you.
[00:17:23] I'm still looking for an okay walk away.
[00:17:27] That's not love it's obsession.
[00:17:30] And I even love times to this.
[00:17:36] Talk.
[00:17:38] Kill.
[00:17:44] Whatever you need.
[00:17:47] Whatever costs.
[00:17:50] Cut out their stacks and bring them to me.
[00:17:55] The whole planet's going to be hunting.
[00:17:58] We're in danger here.
[00:18:00] Oh I assure you. Measures will be taken.
[00:18:05] I can destroy you so utterly nothing will be left.
[00:18:10] I've heard that one before.
[00:18:14] Activate evergreen.
[00:18:16] I'm sure.
[00:18:20] Are you so far gone?
[00:18:22] You don't recognize yourself.
[00:18:28] How does it feel to be afraid of death again?
[00:18:34] Or is this your first time?
[00:18:38] Oh absolutely.
[00:18:40] I saw a lot of people who didn't like him in this and I was like why?
[00:18:44] I was like, what are you doing?
[00:18:46] I'm just going to be a little bit more careful.
[00:18:49] I don't know if you want him to just play Falcon.
[00:18:51] No.
[00:18:52] I've been a fan before he was even a Marvel guy.
[00:18:55] He's fantastic and twisted metal even.
[00:18:57] I can't wait to twist it out.
[00:18:58] I couldn't believe he was in a mile.
[00:19:00] Yeah, he was in so many other movies with like Sam Jackson
[00:19:03] and even other stuff with Jeremy Ritter.
[00:19:05] But.
[00:19:06] No, I do need to see twisted metal.
[00:19:09] I had but yeah, the actors just.
[00:19:12] I think the actors just don't like sports.
[00:19:14] I saw Grey, but I was thinking about going to the camera side.
[00:19:16] But it's not an adventure.
[00:19:17] The film is a lot of what I'm trying to do.
[00:19:19] I'm trying to be an actor at the film with Jack.
[00:19:20] I'm really what I'm trying to do.
[00:19:21] And then if you're not joking with me.
[00:19:22] What I'm trying to do is say what happened that I didn't know.
[00:19:24] I'm trying to make a film in your movie.
[00:19:26] You know, I couldn't stand the scene.
[00:19:27] And I'm trying to make a film.
[00:19:29] You know, I try to put that into the movie,
[00:19:31] but I can't hold this.
[00:19:31] But I don't wanna tell you both.
[00:19:32] I can't do it.
[00:19:33] The film is creepy, you know?
[00:19:34] I can't understand your theme.
[00:19:35] I mean we can't just write it.
[00:19:37] I don't know how else this ends, but I just want to complain about it.
[00:19:41] Everyone wants to complain.
[00:19:43] I just like going along for the ride.
[00:19:45] I love watching something that has very character and is differently nothing like our future is ever going to be.
[00:19:53] Well we hope it's never going to be like that.
[00:19:55] But it's just a futuristic ride.
[00:19:57] But the futuristic and all let you say all the details and the,
[00:20:02] you know, some of the scenery that they had there was just so beautiful.
[00:20:06] It was just a different change up every, every episode, every scene and I just like that.
[00:20:10] Right.
[00:20:12] Who doesn't want to get behind that and have fun with it?
[00:20:16] Yeah.
[00:20:17] The fact that anyone wants to even just.
[00:20:20] Uh, binge this, you know, that's already telling it over self.
[00:20:25] Well at the time right, it was the second most expensive television show, right after game of thrones, right.
[00:20:30] It wasn't really.
[00:20:32] They're really good drops of money into it.
[00:20:34] So wow.
[00:20:36] That.
[00:20:38] That was my line.
[00:20:40] I know that's like 10 or 12 million episode or something.
[00:20:43] The actors contracts or was it just more of the visual effects experience?
[00:20:47] I'm sure the, the effects and all the build up stuff.
[00:20:51] Yeah.
[00:20:52] The phones, I guess you could say the directors and set designs.
[00:20:56] Yeah.
[00:20:58] That's why I'm.
[00:21:00] That is a lot of money.
[00:21:02] Well, and this year alone, I did see some rumors start again about a season free.
[00:21:06] I don't know how much of that is fans starting it up or clickbait going to town or legit talk about it coming back because not like seems to be the worst worse than Fox on the dollar.
[00:21:22] I'm not saying that.
[00:21:24] I'm not saying that.
[00:21:26] Canceling stuff.
[00:21:28] After two years.
[00:21:30] For sure.
[00:21:32] Yeah, dole has ended on such a.
[00:21:35] A sad note and you it was left for wanting and I hate when that happens.
[00:21:40] Yeah, it's a lot to take in because then you got to kind of reset saying well, I'm getting on with my life even though there's no conclusion to this.
[00:21:49] Yeah, I'm not saying that.
[00:21:51] I'm not saying that.
[00:21:52] Right.
[00:21:53] Lost all over again.
[00:21:55] Oh God, don't even start with it please.
[00:21:57] Should everyone like the old carbon ending though if you if that was going to be the ending would that be all right with you?
[00:22:06] I'll take it for what it is.
[00:22:08] To me,
[00:22:10] If they're not going to continue it at least.
[00:22:13] This needs at least an IDW or dynamite comics or dark horse.
[00:22:18] And one of the things I've seen about.
[00:22:21] Somewhere along the way.
[00:22:22] Like just.
[00:22:24] I just want.
[00:22:25] Did anybody do that,
[00:22:28] Other comics?
[00:22:29] I don't know.
[00:22:30] Yeah, there's some comics but they're kind of just more just.
[00:22:34] How you get to the animated thing on right on Netflix.
[00:22:35] Mm hmm.
[00:22:36] I haven't seen it yet, but I want to.
[00:22:38] I saw the enemy.
[00:22:39] It was kind of a little inconsistent for me, but it was kind of more of a just a side story explaining something who's a bosses,
[00:22:46] But if anything, like I would just wanted to just kind of at least maybe green light a spin off now that we kind of got the main story of the main characters out of the way how do we do a fun.
[00:22:59] Just anthology.
[00:23:03] There's a lot of you play with there. You know, you don't have some people everywhere. Yeah.
[00:23:11] Yeah, all together. I mean, there's no denying that it just has a lot of appeal and the fact that we can even just
[00:23:22] elevate about it just like endlessly just thinking about why this world is so fascinating, why it is just.
[00:23:32] You can't just watch just one episode. I mean, I think that's telling it over self, but it is very dense.
[00:23:40] I still again, I guess wow.
[00:23:45] If you were going to introduce someone to this, what would you do to kind of keep them from being confused by it? What would you just kind of test their knowledge like how big are you into this kind of subgenre with isolated cities, dystopias and future listeners?
[00:24:03] I don't even suggest somebody else. They were like a hardcore side five.
[00:24:08] I would just play around because everybody was being hated.
[00:24:17] It's just kind of like it goes, right?
[00:24:21] That's sad.
[00:24:23] Kind of sad thing about cyberpunk actually.
[00:24:26] It really is.
[00:24:27] I'm not a fan of you just not sign of labor.
[00:24:30] I'll tell you, I see so many people who don't even seem to know what neon war is anymore have the time and like really.
[00:24:37] You can just name to me five other well known mystery movies and everything but you don't know what this and that means.
[00:24:46] Yeah, that's very sad.
[00:24:49] I usually just say there's someone watching episode of something and you're either going to like it or you're not. You're either going to get it or you're not.
[00:24:56] And don't act like it's the worst thing you've ever seen unless you've actually suffered through the whole thing.
[00:25:03] Yeah, that's the worst.
[00:25:06] I could get to where the ring was man.
[00:25:08] That's fine too.
[00:25:10] I mean, see you gave it a chance.
[00:25:13] I will suffer through a season of a show before.
[00:25:17] I would get you an episode out for that fall asleep.
[00:25:20] Oh well, that's fine too.
[00:25:23] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:26] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:28] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:29] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:30] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:31] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:33] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:34] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:35] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:36] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:37] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:38] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:39] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:40] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:41] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:42] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:43] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:44] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:46] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:47] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:48] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:49] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:50] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:51] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:52] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:53] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:54] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:55] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:56] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:57] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:58] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:25:59] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:00] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:01] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:02] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:04] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:05] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:06] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:07] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:08] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:09] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:10] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:11] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:12] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:13] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:14] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:15] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:16] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:17] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:18] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:19] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:20] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:22] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:23] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:24] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:26] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:27] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:28] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:29] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:30] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:31] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:32] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:33] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:34] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:35] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:36] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:37] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:38] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:39] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:41] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:42] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:43] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:44] I'm not going to be a fan of this.
[00:26:45] Now, I knew.
[00:26:46] I knew.
[00:26:47] I was cool with whatever.
[00:26:49] But that one felt like it was made up on the spot or
[00:26:50] like.
[00:26:51] Like,
[00:26:52] I,
[00:26:53] like,
[00:26:54] I for instance,
[00:26:55] don't care for the ending of the brand,
[00:26:56] because it just feels like they wanted to just
[00:26:57] piss fans off
[00:26:58] because they were tired of dealing with fan questions.
[00:27:00] It was like,
[00:27:01] Well,
[00:27:02] life just ends.
[00:27:03] But what does that even mean?
[00:27:05] Just illustrate the character's life and end it.
[00:27:06] And if you don't want to end it,
[00:27:07] then I don't know.
[00:27:08] Yeah.
[00:27:10] I think maybe some of the issues come from writing from the
[00:27:16] by committee, you know what I mean instead of just giving it to one creator to
[00:27:20] go hog wild with instead of like yeah get
[00:27:24] the story of a brain, a kind of thing.
[00:27:27] Nobody's as dumb as all of us.
[00:27:30] Right.
[00:27:32] Don't talk down to us and don't just abandon it like hey,
[00:27:36] yeah, yeah, it doesn't matter.
[00:27:38] Well, it kind of does matter.
[00:27:40] We've only invested five years of our life.
[00:27:42] Yeah, exactly.
[00:27:44] Oh man, it's wild, it's wild.
[00:27:48] What do you think a season three would look like if anything?
[00:27:52] Like do you think he would be on the run still from other people he'd
[00:27:55] wronged in the past or helping revolutionaries fight another.
[00:28:00] Member of this chaotic government.
[00:28:03] Yeah, I know you could just literally just spin him up for anything as a hero in any situation.
[00:28:11] Yeah, that's the only thing I felt they were hinting at but they didn't elongate with
[00:28:17] was that it's not like he's the chosen one or anything but he does seem like the guy who is an
[00:28:22] endure so to speak and now that he's accepted that.
[00:28:27] Like season one's pretty much him finding out all the bizarre,
[00:28:32] discombobulated memories and his identity crisis.
[00:28:38] And family issues right in season two he pretty much just brings the tank down saying it's time to end all these
[00:28:46] cor- you know, friends close enemies closer I'm going to take down the corruption that I can especially since coincidently almost all these guys
[00:28:56] have been to not only be wrecking the world but be wrecking my world.
[00:29:01] Yeah, yeah, if anything I like and say is just go a little bigger and go in.
[00:29:08] Fight a bigger miss maybe even go after the millionaire take take over his mansion and say thanks for the hospitality
[00:29:15] but you're still the pain in everyone's side.
[00:29:20] We're having the moment when he actually having a moment when he realizes he isn't that because he's been around forever.
[00:29:24] Yeah, that's a good one.
[00:29:28] That would be fun.
[00:29:31] I'd say existential crisis.
[00:29:37] I can see an actor you now know personally make it.
[00:29:43] I'm surprised fans haven't done their web series version of it.
[00:29:48] I'm sure it's out there.
[00:29:54] I will look for it and if it's not, I will I will co-fund an audio drama with some friends.
[00:30:02] Oh man.
[00:30:05] So.
[00:30:07] I think it's really good.
[00:30:13] I think it's really good to have a couple of friends.
[00:30:17] I think it's really good to have a couple of friends.
[00:30:20] I think it's really good to have a couple of friends.
[00:30:25] I think it's really good to have a couple of friends.
[00:30:28] I think it's really good to have a couple of friends.
[00:30:32] I think it's really good to have a couple of friends.
[00:30:38] And it's really good.
[00:30:42] And the MV show is also unique to this.
[00:30:47] was just as long.
[00:30:54] I guess the other question is what some people who don't like Blade Runner probably liked this,
[00:30:58] because it seems like it's people who like the majors definitely love this.
[00:31:01] people like the Matrix. I don't know what's, like, if you're like a big Matrix fan,
[00:31:05] I don't know where you go from there for Cyberpunk.
[00:31:07] Good. It's Matrix fans. I don't know how to interpret them either because I see some
[00:31:12] who love the first one, hate the sequels. I'm one of those. I love the whole trilogy but
[00:31:16] can't stand the fourth one because I was like, yeah, look at that. Why do you even bring
[00:31:20] that back?
[00:31:21] Yeah.
[00:31:22] I even love the animatrix. I remember watching it.
[00:31:24] Yes. Oh my god.
[00:31:26] It was amazing.
[00:31:29] Talk about anthology.
[00:31:30] Yes, that was great. I remember watching it. I think I might have been the stone actually
[00:31:35] in freaking out.
[00:31:37] You know, whatever adds to the fire.
[00:31:40] Yeah.
[00:31:41] And then watching it again and just thinking how the detail and the story, even if it
[00:31:46] didn't make any sense, was still beautiful.
[00:31:50] Just, what's weird is I see a lot of religious people who don't seem to get all the Jewish
[00:31:54] imagery and I've seen it with that in Robocop.
[00:31:57] And like really, I thought it was blatantly obvious he's being resurrected. He's the second
[00:32:00] coming of Christ.
[00:32:01] Of course.
[00:32:02] And Joel was in there as well. I actually really liked the remake of that. I thought it
[00:32:07] was different but
[00:32:08] What do you call it?
[00:32:09] Judge Dredd too.
[00:32:10] Judge Dredd too.
[00:32:11] Yeah.
[00:32:12] That's why I think I liked it. It was very much like the new dread. But a lot of people rejected
[00:32:18] it.
[00:32:19] They're like, it's not funny.
[00:32:20] Oh, there's still some sad tire. Same Jackson's character is a Fox News guy.
[00:32:23] And basically all the giant corporation instead of being an expensive corporation is basically
[00:32:33] a black water slash police state.
[00:32:35] And I thought that was very telling, especially for the fear of the firemongering that goes
[00:32:40] on today and don't get it wrong.
[00:32:42] Altered carbon has plenty of that too.
[00:32:43] I mean, all these merges basically are dying for a totally different cause and trying
[00:32:48] to brainwash people endlessly.
[00:32:50] And I think that's what it ultimately pulled to me the most was that the main protagonist
[00:32:54] keeps you in suspense as to where he resides, whose side he is on.
[00:32:59] Is he loyal to the cop he has a romance with?
[00:33:01] Is he loyal to only himself?
[00:33:02] Is he loyal to his last remaining friends from another life?
[00:33:06] Or is he loyal to one of the various revolutionaries or is he going to keep playing them for fools
[00:33:11] until they all collapse?
[00:33:13] You know,
[00:33:14] I got a route for the underdog because I hope most of us ever have chaotic post apocalyptic
[00:33:24] lifestyle.
[00:33:25] They're best sci-fi property.
[00:33:26] Like this, all the cover is probably the best sci-fi property that it was show wise
[00:33:30] that they produced at Netflix by far.
[00:33:33] Yeah, at least now, Rebel Moon, and I don't know if you've seen this stuff from that
[00:33:38] is jaw drop.
[00:33:40] I haven't Rebel Moon.
[00:33:42] Okay.
[00:33:43] Look at the, they got a three minute teaser out.
[00:33:46] Oh wow.
[00:33:47] Two films.
[00:33:48] Oh, I was the upcoming next night's show.
[00:33:50] Yes, I did hear about this.
[00:33:51] Yeah, as the Star Wars script that he had and he pitched and they turned down and then
[00:33:55] Netflix people have been really worked it.
[00:33:57] It was amazing.
[00:33:58] It does look pretty stunning.
[00:34:01] Well, I know what I'll be checking out.
[00:34:05] I mean, that's what people should do nowadays instead of at weight.
[00:34:10] I mean, that's what David Twahai did with the Riddick movies.
[00:34:13] He took his rejected alien free script and he went bananas.
[00:34:16] He was like, okay, we got bounty on it.
[00:34:18] We got alien creatures.
[00:34:19] I don't know though.
[00:34:20] I think like if you're in the position like long cam for instance or on the alien five
[00:34:25] script that he had, yeah, that would have been amazing.
[00:34:30] I think that he's probably optioned.
[00:34:36] That's why you still haven't seen a release of it online that actual script because it
[00:34:41] would have existed at least a draft at that point because they were scouting locations.
[00:34:46] Yeah, I was really comfortable with it.
[00:34:49] Because basically once like Deadpool, they put the foxes acts on the spot and then they
[00:34:54] still didn't allow him to make it because really Scott stepped in and I don't know about
[00:34:59] you guys.
[00:35:00] I can't do whatever he is at all.
[00:35:02] But yeah, I understand what have been amazing.
[00:35:05] Like that just from the artwork.
[00:35:07] It was stuff.
[00:35:08] Yeah, I mean they could still probably do it as an anime.
[00:35:12] So I'm with you guys much like they've done with Halo and Animatrix, let alone all these
[00:35:17] other Marvel and DC, you know, in Star Wars Legends shows.
[00:35:21] Just do do that with this.
[00:35:23] They should just have a you know because it's a morning we were already much like Swartz
[00:35:30] Nigger said.
[00:35:31] I'm done playing the Terminator.
[00:35:32] The last one was supposed to be the last one while you asking me as Gourney recently said
[00:35:36] no more Ripley.
[00:35:37] So I'm like cool.
[00:35:39] Get a sound a lot.
[00:35:40] There's plenty of talented cartoon and video game voice actors out there just have them
[00:35:46] doing anthology just unfinished tells because like I heard the original like Alien Free
[00:35:51] done as a audio audible drama.
[00:35:54] I wasn't really digging it, but I was at least glad that hey, here's something for other
[00:35:59] fans who want a different version of this.
[00:36:01] I mean, it's just like when you can offer we talk to keep talking about Blade Runner.
[00:36:06] There's again five versions of that movie.
[00:36:08] I like that.
[00:36:10] Let people decide which version of the movie they're comfortable with instead of oh,
[00:36:15] you can only get this version or that copy.
[00:36:17] Yeah.
[00:36:18] Yeah.
[00:36:19] There's like 20 different versions of Blade Runner out there, you know?
[00:36:23] Right.
[00:36:24] If we can have many versions of Covex on screen, why can't we have many versions of the
[00:36:28] movie or show that we love?
[00:36:30] I mean, Bells for the likes and good.
[00:36:33] We get it.
[00:36:34] We get it.
[00:36:35] Yeah, there you go.
[00:36:36] The uncovering original event horizon script will be nice or cut.
[00:36:40] Yeah, do a comic book adapting the script or something.
[00:36:44] Actually, Amazon picked it up.
[00:36:46] I heard as a show.
[00:36:47] I heard that.
[00:36:48] Oh, that's interesting.
[00:36:49] So he also picked a 13 goes.
[00:36:52] Oh, yeah, we're going to hard, hard, hard sci fi horror character here guys.
[00:36:59] There is so much stuff that is just coming out now where.
[00:37:03] Now people want to see all these movies they grew up loving and see an action like the
[00:37:08] on code version of them.
[00:37:09] And yeah, I'm for it because if you can have this many version of Covex, you can have
[00:37:13] this many versions of these movies and shows.
[00:37:16] And just and the studios aren't going to ever release those directors cuts.
[00:37:20] You might as well just find a different mode to just kind of explore what wasn't made.
