[00:00:00] This podcast is a production of Unfiltered Studios. If you would like to know more about joining Unfiltered Studios, please visit our website at unfpod.com for more information. We missed. We loaded. We edited. Sometimes we get so deep into conversation that we have separate segments worthy of their own place in the sun.
[00:00:29] Here is a reshuffled mini episode. We are packed to the T. Hey, hey, ho, ho. And we got some exclusive guests for you guys. Paul Derby is back with JJ and Paul. And we got Ryan T. Richardson from the Go Tell Someone Podcast Network. Ryan T. That Ryan T. Richardson? No, I'm just kidding.
[00:00:58] The only one. He's awesome. Oh, that Ryan T. Richardson. Okay. How the hell is everybody? Oh, good, man. Good. Yeah. Paul, you're doing better. Yeah, I can't complain too much here. You've been busy as all get out, I take it. Yeah, everything's good. You know, everything's fine. For now. For now, yeah. Until the next earthquake. That worked.
[00:01:25] Until the next shitty thing that happens in life, you know. You get a phone call at 2 a.m. I don't know who it is. Oh, dear. You get that phone call from that friend here. Hey, man. This really happened. Hey, man. Can you pick me up in Patterson? Why? Because I missed the bus home. Okay. Drive down to Patterson. Trying to figure out where the hell he is. I realize he's in the bus terminal in the middle.
[00:01:55] You know, the bus station in the middle of Patterson. It smells like weed and like, weed and failure. You know? That's very specific. You know, he's like, hey, man. You smell like a, you smell like, you know, somebody's undershorts and a bat, you know, at high holiday, you know. I have to drive him home. We're driving through Patterson, which is not exactly the best town to be in, at two o'clock in the morning. And thank God my parents were away. Right?
[00:02:23] So, I had to like drive him home. This was this friend of mine home. Right? Then I picked up my other friend who was at another bus stop. So, it's two of them at a bus stop. Right? And I'm sitting there and I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, oh, Jesus Christ. Are you saying your life was a sketch show? My life was like, okay. My life was a sketch show. Yeah. My life was a sketch show. Right? It was like a sign. It's like Seinfeld done if you were a teenager.
[00:02:54] You know? I mean, it's like, I would just sit there and I'd be like, I'd be like, hey, what are you doing in my car? You know? And, uh. Hey, Jerry. Hey, Jerry. I'm going to be here. Oh, yeah. I'm saying Kramer went all psycho on Jersey. No, no. Patterson, New Jersey at two o'clock in the morning is like, okay, like there's like three places you want to stay out of. Patterson, Newark and Trenton at two o'clock in the morning.
[00:03:20] Because when you pick people up in Patterson, you see the dregs of society come out. You know? The people you were told not to be around. You know? I was born in Patterson. Okay. Really? Ryan, you never told me. Ryan, you know what I'm talking about, right? I'm kidding. I was just kidding. Okay.
[00:03:45] But, you know, there's that one city you're told not to go to a certain time of the night. Yep. And you have to go. Yep. That's what happens. That would be Dallas, Texas. Oh. I live right across the border from Detroit. Oh, Dallas. That used to be called Cask Corridor. Oh, yeah. And that was the worst part of town and you didn't want to get stuck there. You don't want any of that stuff, right? Yeah. And then everything's changed in the last 20 years.
[00:04:11] And that's where like third man records, Jack White's vinyl pressing plant is now in Cask Corridor. It's what? There's dog parks there. Like people are walking, you know, at all hours of the day. Like it's like, it's totally transformed. Cask Corridor used to be the place you don't ever want to be stuck there ever. Wow. And now it's now it's like people. It's like a Pleasantville or something. It's really weird. Like, and I've heard about the trailers. Like there was like the bad section. Then there was like Auburn Hills. Yes. Yeah.
[00:04:39] And like Auburn Hills was like an oasis compared to like what Detroit looked like at that time. Yeah. Yeah. And I remember like, like Howard Stern was talking about him doing him doing radio in Detroit. He's like, you know, I had to go. I have to go get milk. I tell my wife to cover me, you know, did you hear him? He was, he was just on smart list. And he brought up Detroit. He told me about it. It was it's. Oh, my word. Wow. Wow. Yeah. Every time he mentions Detroit, I get excited because it's like, you know, I know exactly what he's talking about.
[00:05:08] Wow. Hello, Detroit. This is WBAM here. You know, you know, first thing in the morning. Yeah. The big sound of Detroit. The greatest thing to ever come out of Detroit, in my opinion, was was the MC five. Yes. And the Stooges. Yeah, I agree. Man. Yeah. See, and this is where we're going to. I just knew this crew was going to get along with each other because it's all these deep cultural, pop culture cuts. Yeah.
[00:05:39] And we have to mention the, and we have to mention some classic that is Dr. Detroit. Oh. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The doctor. The doctor. I don't believe it was actually shot in Detroit, but that doesn't matter. It's Dr. He owned it. 50 miles away. Come on, it's Toronto for Christ's sake. That's right. I explained my old, all the criminals were very apologetic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a, it's a kind, a gentler nation now. So it's all good. It's all good.
[00:06:07] We'll return after these messages. Hey, it's Brent Pope, the host of Brentfist with Brent Pope. You've seen me on some of your favorite TV shows saying things like, give it up, Jimmy. You got to sink this put to win. I'm Brentfist with Brent Pope. I sit down with guests for the entertainment world and we do it all over breakfast. Or should I say Brentfist? Every week on Brentfist, you get inside Hollywood info and tips, great breakfast wrecks and booty debates. Most of all, you get the most delightful 30 minutes of your week. So dig in. It's Brentfist time.
[00:06:37] Listen at Brentfist.com, Apple podcasts, or wherever fine podcasts are found. Welcome to the Better Call Daddy show. The number one podcast where we admit no matter what happens, daddy has the advice we need to fix our problems. Introducing my dad, Mr. Wayne Friedman. That was good. It would be nice if you could also sing a song. What would the song be? You love Paris in the springtime. I just made up some words to it. I love Rena in the springtime. I love Rena in the fall.
[00:07:09] That's right. That's good enough. What I do is interview people of interest, share it with my dad and get my dad's advice. My dad is my hero. Nobody's got my daddy. Oh boy. Let's go to grandpa. You like to be a little rebel. I tried to rein you in. I have a daughter named Rena that acts just like I did. She's got a son that is not only just like me, but it's just like her. I'm your host, Rena Friedman Watts. Invite your friends, subscribe, and I'm excited to take this journey with you.
[00:07:38] Let's dive in. She was teasing this guy with the sword and she accidentally cut his dick. Oh my God, I'm dying. And then he started to enjoy it. I started going down the phone sex rabbit hole. You've got the wankers and they jerk off in five seconds and then they're done because A, they don't want to spend money and B, they're quick. My stepfather had mania. If I'm yelling at one of my kids, that fear, that rigid fear. Mom even said to me, I hope you have a kid just like you.
[00:08:04] There are lots of people that are being bought and sold right now for profit. If you think you're going to kill yourself, shut up and kill yourself. If you're not going to kill yourself, then shut up, smarten up, and it's all on you. The bullshit has to end. Wow. When I was 11 years old, I was raped and molested over the course of a year. What Jeffrey Epstein had was a sickness inside of him. I am Evan Castrilli Carmichael. I could do anything that I believe that I can. I'm so excited too. Let's go.
[00:08:31] Next on Better Call Daddy with my mom and my grandpa. Stay tuned. Follow us on the web on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
